Cons: Our experience at this hotel was very disappointing and did not meet even basic standards of hospitality. Upon arrival, the receptionist was extremely rude. She asked for our passports and, without any notice or consent, attempted to photocopy them. When we explained that we did not agree to this and that she could simply record the details (as is done in other hotels), she reacted aggressively, pulling the passports from our hands and threatening that we either comply or cancel our reservation and leave. She even stated that she did not care where we would stay and threatened to call the police. Eventually, after contacting the manager, they agreed to simply record the passport details as we had initially requested. Throughout our stay, her attitude remained cold and unprofessional, without even a basic greeting or willingness to assist. Although the property looked like the photos, the air conditioning units were not functioning properly and were visibly very dirty. We had to clean them ourselves in order to use them. In addition, the overall cleanliness of the room was below expected standards. Upon entering the room, there were not even enough towels provided for two people, which shows a lack of basic preparation. Even worse, during our four-day stay, the room was never cleaned: no housekeeping service, no change of bed linens, and no replenishment of essentials such as toilet paper. Overall, this was a very negative experience, mainly due to the unacceptable behavior of the staff and the lack of cleanliness. We would not recommend this hotel.

The property was clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. It is well located within Gueliz, however Gueliz itself is quite far from the main square and medina. We were able to leave our luggage on check out day which was very useful. The lady who dealt with our check out was helpful and friendly.

Cons: The double bed is located in the living area, it would be nice to have a little separation to give some privacy. Just a screen would help, and they’re very Moroccan too! The young man at reception when we checked in wasn’t very welcoming, not very interested in helping.

L'appartement était très propre, lumineux au dernier étage, avec une terrasse. Le personnel était très aimable et disponible 24h/24 en cas de besoin. Nous avons pu déposer nos bagages à l'arrivée le matin de bonne heure. Ils ont organisé notre réservation de taxi pour le trajet retour en taxi prévu en milieu de nuit. Une petite épicerie ainsi qu'une grande galerie marchande, avec un Carrefour Market tout proche de l'appartement permettent d'acheter tout le nécessaire pour cuisiner.

Cons: Une chambre disposait d'une grande penderie avec étagères mais l'autre n'avait aucun meuble de rangement pour ranger ses affaires personnelles, ses vêtements. La salle de bain ne dispose pas de barre pour faire sécher les serviettes de douche. Il n'y a pas de table ni de chaises sur la terrasse. Les fenêtres ferment mal. Le quartier est assez bruyant jusqu'à minuit près d'une grande avenue.

И всё остальное необходимое тоже было! Расположен удобно, вблизи от главной дороги и недалеко от вокзала. За эти деньги очень хороший вариант! Обязательно рекомендую!

I booked a two-night stay in a room on the fourth floor, but unfortunately, the elevator was out of service, and there were ongoing renovations in the building without prior notice, along with power outages. There was also no assistance provided to carry my luggage upstairs — I even had to ask one of the construction workers for help and gave him a small tip for his kindness. The location is central, which is convenient, but overall, I didn’t feel comfortable due to the constant noise

Stayed 10 nights in December 2024 in Ambre apartment. We loved the size and the way it is arranged... but there are a few small things that would not cost much to make it a tiny bit better. Beds comfortable. Bedding very clean. Good wifi. Couches clean. I was impressed. Fridge freezer, microwave, 2 burner hob, kettle, pots & pans, cutleries, glasses. Washing up liquid and sponge. There were no cups or mugs. Not sure how they expect you to have your coffee or tea. No English channels whatsoever on the television. Do they not expect English speaking guest? I don't really watch TV on holiday but it's nice to catch up with the news especially when having dinner. Large balcony. OK views. Although in the pictures you can see patio furniture, there was none. Not inviting as doesn't get cleaned or swept. The railings are so dirty you cannot hang clothes on even though we tried to clean it. No hangers provided. One roll of toilet paper for 3 days per apartment. One towel each for 3 days. Bedding not changed or asked to be changed in 10 days. Curtains disgusting. In one bedroom it was just hanging over the door so every time we open the door it falls down. In the other bedroom the smaller one was horrible. Advertised as having toiletries. The only thing that was provided was a tiny bar of soap and two tiny 15ml bottles of something in the shower. We couldn't tell what it was. We used it to clean the toilet bowl. Shower head hanger broken so had to always hold shower head in one hand, hence difficult to wash your hair and give scalp a good massage. Two people cannot take a good shower, you have to wait for the water to heat up for the next person and that can take an hour or more.

Cons: BEWARE staff go snooping in your room when you are out. One day as soon as we left, one of the receptionists went in. She spent a long time going through the fridge (we had cooked food in there). She was also trying to open an aluminium container anyone who lifted it up could tell immediately it was empty, but she was trying to open it. In one bedroom she opened the chest of drawers to see what was inside and left them open. One day one of the receptionists phoned the room to ask if I wanted housekeeping. She came up with the cleaner and a man. She and the cleaner walked in and she started moving the dining table and took a chair without telling me what she was doing. I had to ask. All this is happening with the door open and the man standing at the door. When she called she didn't tell me all this and to make myself descent. Air conditioning in one bedroom wasn't working. Although it took them 3 days to fix it we asked and got a small heater for the room. But even before it was fixed we were asked for it back because they were cold at reception. Unbelievable. We didn't because obviously we needed it. Lots of light fittings but many bulbs missing and the ones that works are very dim it made the apartment uninviting and claustrophobic. A bulb in the kitchen wasn't working, asked for them to change it. After a few days nothing, had to ask again. After 11pm one night someone telephoned to say they can change it now or before 8am next morning. That's shows no respect. The middle aged man came after 11pm with the wrong bulb. It never got changed. We had to cook using our phone for extra lighting as the one that works was too far away from the hob and very, very dim. I am very sceptical about any good reviews about him as he is rude and very unpleasant. He pointed to the light in the reception corridor and said, "Look one light." He made up his mind that he wasn't going to change the bulb. He said "Guests don't complain."

It was a very spacious apartment, the kitchen was well equipped, good enough to cook in but I just used it for breakfast and making tea, coffee and the odd sandwich. Fridge freezer for cold drinks, hob, microwave and enough pots pans etc. The lounge was huge ( Jasmin appt was a 3 person let) it had 3 sofas, dining table, coffee table, chairs, floor cushions. Spotlessly clean, they even provided quality toilet paper ( small thing but its where most accommodations save the pennies). Big screen TV, 3 english channels (movies, bbc world news, animal planet)Front desk was attended 24/7, exterior doors and outer gates locked once everyone was in (for extra security). Not far from the women run non profit restaurant - Amal centre- (Fab traditional food and trains women for jobs in quality hotels). Good agent for tours/airport transfer- Habti, 159, Bd Mohammed. 200 ms away. There's a secure (indoor) atm on the corner of the street. The district is up-market and it felt safer than most places in the city.

The apartment is in a fantastic location, surrounded by plenty of restaurants, shopping stores (incl international chains like McDonald’s, Starbucks and PizzaHut), and a Carrefour supermarket. It’s about a 45-minute walk to the medina/koutoubia area, making it convenient for exploring if you're walk-friendly. Plenty of taxis also available and buses too. The night staff, particularly Mustafa and another young gentleman, were excellent—super helpful and quick to assist. We had an electricity trip in the kitchen at midnight and Mustafa was quick to respond via booking.com's message portal.

Cons: The apartment itself is quite basic and could use some serious improvements. The bathroom shower is poorly placed, causing water to leak across the entire bathroom. The kitchen induction hob was faulty, but we managed to make it work. Each room has only one power socket, most of which were loose and falling off. The intercom didn’t work, so we had to go downstairs for everything, which became frustrating. Other issues included lifts being closed at night without prior notice, dirty windows, curtains, cushions, and rugs, and misleading information about the sofa and balcony (it’s not a sofa bed and just a small square balcony). It wouldve been useful to have cleaning tools or cleaning services given the length of our stay. That said, the cleaning ladies kindly replaced our towels and toiletries when asked. Overall, the apartment desperately needs a deep clean and maintenance. The payment information is also misleading as on confirmation it says payment would be charged before arrival. However we had to pay on the day of check out directly to the hotel, which was a bit frustrating as they wouldn't let us pay upfront to help manage our finances.

I like the way that apartment is set up considering every convenience the host can provide to the guest. The location is so awesome, that is close to railway station, airport and Ctm bus station including the big square, every thing is in 4/5 kilometres or less. It’s in a very middle class neighborhoods apart from the rush of big square. I really appreciate specially Mustafa, Khadija and Raja for helping me during my stay at Dar Gueliz. This place is going to be my next stay with my whole big family inshahallah in March, subject to availability.

Cons: The staff’s behavior was unacceptable. The lady at the reception carelessly left a large copy of my ID (A4 size) on the reception desk, exposing my personal information to anyone passing by. To protect my privacy, I took the document with me, while the desk was unattended. When I returned, she asked for it back, and I promptly complied, attempting to explain the importance of protecting personal information. However, she refused to listen, accused me of “stealing company documents” from a “company desk,” and became hostile. The document had been left fully exposed at the entrance. I decided to let it go, despite her unreasonable and aggressive response to a simple and justified concern. Her reaction might have been different if I were not a Moroccan customer. The entire incident is recorded on tape. Please review it. Thank you.

Towels seemed unwashed (didn't smell cleaning product at all, instead smelt like someone used it shortly before). Awaken around 9am by very loud noises of furniture being pushed around (by staff doing another room I assume). Don't expect to sleep late in that hotel. Wall electric plug ruined, bathroom trash bin broken, stains on armchairs. These are easy fixes, why not doing them? I can't comprehend the mentality behind such neglectful attitude. For this price all of the above is unacceptable.

The studio I stayed at had only one AC unit placed in the corridor, making it very unpleasant to hang out in the living room as it gets very hot. Cons: I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at Dar Gueliz, and I must say that my overall impression was extremely negative. The hotel made several claims that turned out to be false, the sound isolation was abysmal, and the behavior of one staff member, Raja, was completely unacceptable. First and foremost, the hotel advertised that they provided daily cleaning services. However, during my stay, I quickly realized that this was far from the truth. My room was left uncleaned for consecutive days, which made for an uncomfortable and unsanitary environment especially since the kitchen trash can was not being emptied. This blatant misrepresentation of their services was both disappointing and unprofessional. Furthermore, the sound isolation in the hotel was shockingly inadequate. I could hear every conversation taking place in the adjacent apartment, which severely impacted my ability to relax and have a peaceful night. Privacy and tranquility are essential aspects of a hotel experience, and the complete lack of soundproofing at Dar Gueliz was a major letdown. The most distressing part of my stay, however, was the behavior of Raja, a staff member at the reception. She displayed a level of rudeness, impoliteness, and unprofessionalism that was utterly appalling. During an incident regarding a late check-out, Raja directed her frustrations at me, blaming me for not informing them about extending my stay. Despite explaining that my reservation had already been confirmed through the booking platform, she continued to berate me. As a paying customer, I found her attitude unwarranted and completely unacceptable. Her inability to handle the situation appropriately left me feeling disrespected and undervalued. I urge prospective guests to consider alternative accommodations to avoid the disappointment, inconvenience, and poor treatment that I experienced during my stay at Dar Gueliz.

the place is nice. very well located, quiet, we had an apartment on the highest floor - great view from terasse. main room was of a good size, it was quite clean. staff was very nice. it´s good for one - two nigths stay, i would not stay much longer. good deal for the price for sure.

Cons: one of the bedrooms did not have a/c, so it got quite hot at night. table on the terasse had broken leg so it was useless. there is no proper table or chairs inside, so for a meal you´ll need to use sofa and coffee table. use of power cords was interesting. i did not like the sheets, it was some polyester material.

I chose this hotel for its location close to an event I was attending at the nearby Radisson and I have no regrets about that. I saved a lot of money by staying here--it's just around the corner and across the street. It's also within walking distance of many restaurants and a mall with a large grocery store inside. For the most part, the front desk agents were very nice and helpful.

Cons: Some of the lights in the apartment weren't working and they were never fixed once we reported them. The apartment claims to have a balcony--and technically it does--but it's definitely not worth paying extra for. It's very small, dusty, and there's no view to speak of. Not inviting at all. There was some dog poop just outside the front gate of the property and for nearly a week that I stayed there, no one ever cleaned it up. I get that perhaps technically it's not on the property, but you would think you wouldn't want that to be your guest's first impression. While they were happy to arrange a taxi to pick us up from the airport, when we requested a taxi for our return trip, we were told to go to the corner and wave one down. Our booking claimed that there was daily housekeeping, but we saw no sign of that in our apartment.

Friendly and flexible staff. Comfortable room for even longer stays. Located in a very nice Gueliz neighbourhood, near by the train station (a bit far away from the Medina but still walkable).

The location is great. There's a big street with bars and restaurants near the hotel. The stuff were super nice! We took the double bedroom apartment, it was really big and good for us. Walls and ceilings are thin, so it’s noisy when other guests speak loudly or move their furniture around - get ready your earplugs. Shower area is really small - can’t move around without having the shower curtain touch your body; shower head holder is loose. Specifically asked if there was housekeeping and was told there was, but nobody came for the 3 nights we stayed; unable to provide extra towels since they are more of an apartment rather than the “hotel” they are advertised to be. Bedroom doesn’t have a AC, only in the sitting room; lights are very dark - once the sunsets, we’ll need additional lights from our phones to look for things in the bedroom (one of the bedside lamp wasn’t working as well). Receptionist is friendly but did not seem very knowledgeable - blank faces at a lot of our questions.

There were so many restaurants, cafes and shops nearby. A bank on the corner, a Starbucks within two min walk. A great fish place on the other corner with good food and good service. It had a nice entrance way and friendly staff.

When I spoke about this all I was given was a cover to put over the mattress. The sofa was so uncomfortable it is like a park bench covered in material, we where unable to relax comfortably. The balcony is covered in pigeon faeces and pigeons are nesting on the Air-con unit. We were not able to use the balcony due to this and the tiny size of it. The balcony also doesn’t lock I have taken videos of this. The fridge in the apartment was not keeping our food cold and there was ants everywhere on the fridge and in the kitchen. There was wires hanging out of sockets and the lamp in the living room was hanging off. There was no dining table in the room and in the description of the apartment it stated dining room table. I brought this up and later they put a dining room table into the apartment. I was not happy with the apartment. I don’t believe it matches the description of the advertisement and I was not able to relax with the uncomfortable furnishings. I felt the manager made no attempt to meet me or offer us a different apartment. He should no a professional approach to us as guests and didn’t even introduced himself to

This is my vacation I am not being held to ransom by this complex having me staying in the hotel apartments by then refusing to refund me my stay. I cannot and will not stay in an apartment that I’m not able to relax and feel comfortable and safe. I strongly recommend staying away.

Friendly helpful staff, basic but functional room, clean and air conditioned with a comfy bed and sofa. the kitchenette with a job, kettle, microwave and fridge is a real bonus. Gueliz is full of useful stuff like bars, restaurants, a coffee shop and Carrefour supermarket on the doorstep. The only reason I'm not giving it a solid 5 stars is that's it's in the same building as a boxing club/gym which starts up the pounding dance music at about 8am and goes until gone 10pm.. the bass, and the thudding of people running on treadmills goes right through the building unfortunately, so do bring ear plugs or expect your lie-in to be very brief indeed.

Great location, opposite CARRE EDEN mall, many local restaurants,convenience shop, 10-15 mins walk to train, supratour and ctm bus station. Tram and bus stop to madina in front of carre eden mall. To airport 15mins by taxi $80mad. On saturday nite very crowded with locals, safe place, police officer eveywhere. Staff Abdul kareem very helpful, room rate reasonable. in sha allah good choice.

Hotel itself is nice and clean with apparently nice front desk of 1 person at a time. The studio apartment has small shower barely enough to move around.The rooms are well provided with everyday needs. Now here is the shocker, the hotel apartment which shares building with a gym has no outside visible sign or street address.The taxi dropped me at the main street because its a one way street. The hotel is barely 100 ft. from there, but without any sign or address , i walked past the building twice without recognizing it. Nobody on the street , including cops nearby knew about the place. while searching around MY APPLE i PHONE got snatched out of my shirt pocket on the main boulevard at 8 p.m. with lights on and people walking by. Police nearby no help. Finally walked back again to where i started off and asked people at a small eating place for this place, they had no clue, but after making a phone call, we found out , place is right across the street 20 ft. away., and finally checked in. The front desk tried to help with going to police for my cell phone but with no outcome. The subsequent e mails to hotel were not answered. So welcome to Morocco...

Estuvimos muy a gusto. Los chicos de recepción super amables. El apartahotel no es de lujo pero muy limpio, camas muy cómodas. Cerca restaurantes, oficinas de cambio y centro comercial, incluido Carrefour.

We had a really good stay at Dar Gueliz. The apartment is set back a bit from the road and consists of 6 floors. We had two apartments on floor 3, one twin and the other double. The apartments are spacious and very well equipped with everything you'd require. The kitchen contains everything you'd require to cook something during your stay, just across the road there is a shopping centre which has a Carrefour supermarket for you to pickup your supplies. The apartment is located in a good area with shops and places to eat nearby. The staff are very friendly and helpful. This place is very good basic apartment with everything you'd need. I would most definitely recommend it to anyone wanting an apartment in Marrakech.

We really enjoyed our stay at dar gueliz. The apartment was spacious and clean. Staff was very nice too, they offered us moroccan sweets when we arrived. We strongly recommend !!! We will come back for sure :)
