I had a great stay. The all villa accommodation is incredible. Even entry level villas are vast, boasting an entrance hall, sitting room, spacious bedroom, and large, private, exterior courtyard and pool. Decoration is tasteful and luxurious. The grounds are palatial, the resort in general, absolutely immaculate. The setting is quite idyllic, framed by mountains and ocean. Tangier is around 90 minutes drive away, Tetouan around 30 minutes. Staff were polished and friendly, every single person acknowledging you, with a touch to the heart gesture. The hotel has several restaurants, not all of them open during this visit. I ate in Azura, the beachfront restaurant. Food was unmemorable, with the exception of breakfast, which is a superb feast, table served. Service was impeccable.

Had a lovely stay at the Banyan Tree. The staff were very accommodating and kind to everyone and made our stay memorable. 10 year anniversary ruined, gave the hotel ample time 5 months advance notice that we were coming. It was the worst anniversary to date. Rooms weren't prepared adequately for the occasion, housekeeping was putting up our dirty towel to be used again. Only good experience was the breakfast

It’s perfectly fine but if you have ever stayed in a banyan tree previously you will be bitterly disappointed. Bad service, bad attitude from the staff and not the perfect finesse you normally receive from a banyan tree. It’s put my husband and I off using a banyan tree again.

Excellent breakfast, excellent location.

Cons: Noise, property looked a bit tired in places.Very noisy, building work, daily power tool gardening, fruit harvesting all going on next to our villa, despite requesting and receiving assurances of peace, each subsequent day was just as noisy and disturbing

gorgeous and well maintained property, superior service and luxury villa accommodation

Cons: food. Moroccan cuisine was below standards and did a disservice to this amazing cuisine. we don’t mind spending money on excellence, but overpriced (especially during off season ) and just ok.

A great experience, starting with our arrival where we were greeted by very welcoming staff, to our departure. The grounds are spectacular. We loved our villa with pool. We ate at all the restaurants and they were all very good. Service was exceptional especially at breakfast supervised by Rashida, the manager. Saffron, the signature Thai restaurant was so good we had dinner there twice. Service was excellent. The hotel arranged a private tour of Tetuoan with a great guide. Banyon Tree Tamouda Bay was a great end to our Moroccan vacation.

We arrived later than anticipated due to delays at Tangier airport, however the welcome was warm and efficient from the staff on reception. We had some teething problems with our room on the first night but this matter was swiftly resolved. The two days we had buffet breakfast were lovely, plenty of choice but for the remainder of our stay the buffet was replaced with a la carte, including various platters of food which were placed on your table. I found this a little overwhelming as there was no room for anything else and I struggled with the amount of waste. This may have been because it was out of season as the hotel was very quiet. Saffron was amazing, the best Thai food I have eaten in a long time. The beach was quiet and Rashid did a good job of looking after us, keeping our water topped up and towels on the sunbeds for our arrival. The main beach restaurant was closed so we ate in the hotel each lunch time. Good selection to choose from. Ayoub was attentive and we think he has great potential as a waiter, keep up the good work . Thanks to Oussama for sorting the room issues. I always think it’s tricky to judge a hotel during ā€˜out of season’ but on the whole we really enjoyed our stay If you are flying in or out of Tangier and can buy ā€˜fast track’ it is definitely worth it

Congratulations to the entire team, especially Samah, Insaf, and Hassan. They took care of every detail, and even though my husband was in meetings, I never felt alone—they truly made me feel at home. The room was so lovely, I didn’t even want to leave it. Aya at the restaurant also welcomed me every time with a warm smile and was so kind—she even knew exactly how I take my coffee. The property is beautiful, but what truly makes it spectacular is the people who work there. Thank you so much—I hope to come back soon!

Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay is one of those rare places that truly allow you to disconnect from the world and immerse yourself in tranquility. I visited in spring, outside the high season, and it turned out to be the perfect decision. The atmosphere was wonderfully peaceful, the service personal and attentive, and I felt like I had my own little paradise. The villas are simply stunning—spacious, beautifully designed, and offering absolute privacy with a private garden and pool. Waking up to birdsong, having breakfast next to the Large pond and taking a dip in the (not heated) pool without any disturbances felt like pure bliss. It’s the perfect place to retreat, slow down, and recharge. Not all services were available in full due to the low occupancy, but honestly, I didn’t mind. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a personalized experience, and I never felt like I was missing out. Banyan Tree, as an independent hotel brand, focuses on individual service, and it really shows. They make an effort to create a connection with their guests, which makes the stay feel even more special. Of course, luxury comes at a price, and this resort is in the higher-end segment, including additional costs for dining and extras. But for the level of comfort, privacy, and relaxation it provides, I found it absolutely worth it. If you’re looking for a place to retreat, whether alone or with company, Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay is an exceptional choice. I would return in a heartbeat!

From the moment I arrived, the staff greeted me with warmth and professionalism, ensuring that every aspect of my stay was perfect. The level of hospitality was truly outstanding—everyone was incredibly polite, attentive, and eager to assist with any request. Their attention to detail and dedication to guest satisfaction made me feel truly valued. The hotel itself exudes elegance and luxury. The interiors are beautifully designed, creating a sophisticated yet welcoming ambiance. My villa was immaculate, spacious, and equipped with all the modern amenities one could ask for. The overall experience exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend to anyone seeking top-tier service, comfort, and a touch of luxury. I can’t wait to visit again

My husband and I spent a week at Banyan Tree Tamouda bay in early January and couldn’t recommend it highly enough. The hotel is so beautiful and well maintained and every single staff member went out of their way to make it the most lovely stay. Rachid and Jadhir were wonderful at breakfast every day, the Moroccan breakfast is delicious. We ate at Saffron three times during our stay, really fantastic Thai food. Our villa was beautiful, and housekeeping was exceptional, El Khadir and the rest of the team left it spotless every day and thought of so many special touches, including a pregnancy pillow for me when they saw I was pregnant! Of course the hotel was quiet as we stayed during off season, but we enjoyed walking on the beach and visiting the fantastic spa. Oussama the guest experience manager kindly offered many times to arrange activities or excursions (there’s plenty to do in the local area), but we were happy to relax! As the pools are not heated, it was too cold to use them at this time of year so we really appreciated booking a villa with a jacuzzi which the team arranged to be heated for us. Overall, we were so touched by the kindness and attentiveness of all the Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay team. We felt so welcome and looked after during our whole stay, a true five star experience!

This wasn’t my first time here, but my expectations were exceeded nevertheless. Due to its all-around excellence, my four-day booking turned into a month-long stay. I had the opportunity to enjoy the New year’s celebration with the Banyan Tree fam as well. Food, music, and vibe were of high quality. There’s probably not enough space to describe my entire experience, but I’ll try my best. GENERAL COMMENTS: The hotel is generally family-friendly and aesthetically pleasing from every angle. You can see the mountains, ocean, and a sky filled with stars in the evening. The place is well-lit and was especially so during the holiday-new year season. You can shop locally (10-15 minute drive) or you can head out to Tangier or Ceuta (Spanish Territory) which is also a few minutes away (bring your passport). But you don’t need to venture far if you want good food though. The three restaurants (Thai, Moroccan & international) at Banyan collectively offer a diverse dining experience without needing to leave the comfort of the hotel. The dining team, including Rachid, A. Houssine, Saifeddine, and Marwan were very careful and made the daily dining experience comfortable. The staff were all very kind and attentive to my needs and interests. If I had a problem, they not only fixed it, but they went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. SPECIFIC COMMENTS REGARDING INTERACTIONS W/ STAFF: I’ve been to a few luxury hotels in Morocco and I’d say, for me, this is second to none due to the consistent quality in its services and the staff’s demeanor with clients. Oussama actively sought out solutions when I had a medical issue. He was also diligent in arranging my experiences throughout the month including one that was previously not in place. I appreciate the ability to adapt. Omar at reception helped me navigate my way to Ceuta and was pleasant and engaged when I made inquiries and requests. Rahima always met me with incomparable kindness. She and Ayoub were very welcoming, professional, patient, and respectful during the long hours I would spend at reception. Madame Sana was lovely; I appreciate all the time she spent connecting me to the right places for my beauty and hair maintenance. The girls at the spa, Julie and Najlae, handled my hammam and massage appointments with grace. The housekeeping team took their job seriously. They were swift to accommodate. I was surprised that they remembered relevant issues I had during my last stay, and they were proactive about avoiding & quickly resolving any recurrence of the issue. Zakaria and Muhammad from housekeeping patiently assisted me with a late night emergency in my villa which had me very distraught. Abida, Tariq, Nabila, Naima Ahanash, & the other Naima were very responsive to my special requests and cleanliness standards. Hassan (from reception) and Hamza (from IT) swiftly accommodated me with work-related needs including virtual meetings. They did so under very short notice and pressure. Nabil, the reservation manager, guided me through one of the major goals that I had for my trip, and he ensured that the process went as smoothly and comfortably as possible for me on that day. On the day of my departure, Jawad and several other staff (mentioned above) so graciously helped me deal with a chaotic luggage situation moments before I had to leave. Needless to say, I am absolutely grateful for everyone here and anyone that I may have not mentioned who contributed to the ease and comfort that I experienced during my stay. I’ve been to other high-end hotels but the service simply wasn’t the same. Even my regular driver, Samir, was very respectful & patient as he helped me navigate my several solo trips to Tetouan. Banyan staff made me feel like I was staying with my family. Being a solo female traveler, I’ve been more hesitant to strike up connections with strangers outside the hotel. While I’d like to keep this place all to myself, I am compelled to recommend you to visit.

I had heard about Banyon Tree Tamouda Bay for some time and was finally able to experience it first hand. It is a lovely high end resort on a beautiful beach about 90 minutes outside of Tangier, Morocco. The villas are private, ample and well laid out. Having a private pool was amazing. The property is rather large and having golf cart service to ferry you around was an added plus. The service was impeccable overall. The Buddha Bar, Azura Beach Club and Saffron were all top notch and delicious. The included breakfast offered an elaborate choice of anything you could imagine you might want to have to start your day. Rashida, the breakfast manager deserves credit for making it a memorable experience.

Cons: The Volubilis Restaurant staffing for dinner could use a bit more training. In comparison to the other dining options, the service was not brilliant and the food, while good was not especially memorable.

The staff were so friendly and helpful especially Omar at reception. They helped us plan excursion days out to local towns with a guide. The spa treatment was superb. The room was absolutely beautiful

Cons: The food was a bit limited. Due to be a quiet time of year some restaurants were not open. Also some of the staff struggled to understand English so we had some miscommunications

The staff were extremely friendly and polite. We had room service twice a day with all towels and sheets changed every day. Everything was very clean and well organized. The manager and staff were coming to our table every day to say good morning have a chat give us some tips for the day. Nabil, the hotel receptionist sent us massages in advance of our arrival and sent a very nice oil burner to our home address to make up for few minutes delay during our checkout. Very good experience.

Exceptional stay at Banyan Tree Tamuda Bay! Immensely grateful to Sanaa, the manager, and the dedicated lobby staff for their warm hospitality. Special thanks to everyone for the VIP service, and hats off to the talented chefs for the delectable dining experience. The villa was impeccably clean, showcasing their attention to detail. A heartfelt thank you for making our stay unforgettable

Cons: It would be better if they have heated pools for cold weather ( we went on Nvember). We haven’t use ours that much because the water was too cold even with a sunny weather. Not all staff knows how to speak english. Communication is a bit hard considering it’s a luxury hotel.

The staff are the biggest credit to this place but hard to put into words how amazing the whole resort is, incredible private villa with pool and huge bath, 2x TVs all you could ask for plus cleaned in the morning immaculately and whilst out to dinner each night ready for bed! Dinner was outstanding, ate at both the Thai and Moroccan restaurant which were top top level. Staff couldn't be anymore accommodating, we travelled with our 6 week old baby and they set up a crib. Spent a couple of hours at the Spa which was also a dream. Will be back and highly recommend!

Rooms were lovely and big, and cleaned daily throughout the stay. The welcome we received was warm and we were quickly in our rooms. The spa is excellent and we enjoyed the treatments which we had booked. Saffron restaurant is incredible, we ate there 3 times during our stay and tried most things on the menu.

Cons: Large parts were shut or not useable. Given the number of people in the resort I would have expected an extra effort from staff. We had to return drinks a few times due to them not being right and food was not as ordered on two occasions. Pools and hot-tub were not heated so couldn’t be used, they were also dirty despite being cleaned daily.

The spa is excellent and we enjoyed the treatments which we had booked. Saffron restaurant is incredible, we ate there 3 times during our stay and tried most things on the menu.

Cons: It’s heavily reliant on the sun. We went in the October half-term break and the weather wasn’t the best. The pools/jacuzzi are not heated so therefore couldn’t be used, they were also dirty despite being cleaned daily. A number of the bars and restaurants were closed and some of the service was slow and we were given the wrong drinks/food on a number of occasions, given the lack of people at the resort this was a surprise. My bill at the end of the stay was wrong and needed checking carefully.

Despite it being low season, the staff (Mr. Ilyas and his team) and were particularly attentive to any need or desire- and so in a beautiful hotel with splendid views. The villas are incredible, with lovely details and a great upkeep service throughout the day. A special Thank you to Mr. Ilyas for your great and appreciated hospitality!

Booking.com is cheaper than official website.

Cons: We booked room @€630 for 2 nights. Hotel change it to local currency MAD first! Then when we check out, they charged us by USD on my credit card. I don’t know why operate like this! I lost nearly €50 on this exchange rate! Definitely not happy for it!

The rooms were nice and the turn-down service was excellent. The spa was a very nice experience, cause the service was great, comfortable, and relaxing.

Cons: Can’t believe that our experience was šŸ‘Ž really disappointed. In summary, we enjoyed our time in Morocco but the Banyan Tree was not worth the money. Between the room, food, and drinks we spent over €5,000 during our 5 night stay. For this amount of money we had much higher expectations. Honestly that’s why we prefer The Four Seasons, In fact, we were at the Four Seasons Resort Marrakech days before arriving at the Banyan Tree Tamouda and everything was phenomenal. - Here are our some following points about Banyan Tree: - Few things from the menu were actually available. The hotel was out of beer, wine, food. Ordering was like a guessing game to find the things which they actually had. - Pools and other public areas were poorly maintained with paint peeling, dirty pool water, or bird droppings. - Half of the staff was wonderful, the other half was not. It felt like we were an inconvenience to the waiters at dinner. I actually next time will consider not to stay in this cadena, we couldn’t even talk properly English at our check out, cause we were trying to tell the guy how everything was ā€œoutā€ like the wine/beer and food we wanted. He responded ā€œwhich outlets didn’t workā€?

Location, design and infrastructure. Breakfast and service at the breakfast

Cons: Check-In without visibility when the booked villas will be ready, staff at the restaurant without knowledge about basic service like keeping a bottle of white wine cold. Simple cesar salad was not possible. The worst was to be forced to wake up by an army of bug’s around your neck in the bed. I claimed all the above and the answer of the stuff was standard, maybe you had food in the bed (I haven’t), this is high season and we are forced to work with uneducated seasonal stuff…etc No action what so ever to turn your bad experiences to a better one.

The villa that we stayed in was lovely and very private. And the staff were pleasant, just in need of a little more training.

Cons: This hotel was under a lot of construction whilst we were there so it was not as luxurious as expected. I think this is due to it being the start of the season. Also, there were not that many staff who spoke English fluently so we had difficulties ordering room service. They also had an issue with cats at the restaurant where they would pester guests whilst eating which was not pleasant or expected at this level of hotel.

We had the nicest welcome and stay on the terrace in our two weeks in morocco. we made a spontaneous booking, and the team was extremely nice and made sure that we have a perfect stay. as all the restaurants were already closed, they even invited us to have dinner with them, what an exceptional experience! The house is precious, well renovated and well maintained; and the terrace was absolutely stunning. In the morning they served a wonderful breakfast, overlooking the old town and spectacular and unforgettable experience. but again, what was really made the stay unique, was the team.

Amazing! We stayed there for a week for a family vacation. The hotel is beautiful, location is great, rooms are spacious and fantastic.

Cons: There's really nothing to dislike about the hotel. It was great! maybe one point of improvement will be to have tag on the breakfast buffet as it's not always easy to identify what's in it.

The beach area with comfortable sunbeds. Beautifully designed villas, hotel buildings and grounds. Wonderful breakfast buffet and great service at breakfast.

Cons: Hotel grounds and buildings seem run down and lack maintenance. Loud club music is played on the beach for most of the day, which makes it less relaxing. All pools and water features had tiles missing or damaged, the main pool was dirty. The service is inconsistent, most staff are untrained and don't speak English, only French or Arabic. Food and drinks menus are all in French, with no English alternatives. The prices in the hotel are very high and do not include a 10% VAT and 10% service charge, which is not made clear. Uncomfortable beds and ant problem in the villa. I have posted a more detailed review on another well-known review platform.

A Breath taking resort the interior & exterior Andalusian villas are incredibly beautiful. Exceptional outdoor & view by the guest pool & breakfast restaurant The housekeeping did very net service when I came back to my villa found it well maintained they nicely organized the wardrobe & my toiletries I liked their touch. The stuff at the restaurants are very welcoming & friendly yet not very professional i can say they need enhancing training & experience to be Banyan tree signature standard. The first night at the resort was not an expected good experience to us as we were bitten by the ants on the bed throughout the night, we couldn’t sleepā˜¹ļø The next morning I spoke to the duty manager Miss Sanaa who fixed the issue fairly. Overall the stay was pleasant & I would come back again Thank you Banyan tree tamouda bay stuff

BEAUTIFUL resort about 1.5 hours from Tanger airport. The amenities and spa were amazing. The entire staff was top of the line and made our family feel so welcome (including our 1 year old baby). Only change we have is we would spend more time here to really enjoy all the spa amenities and the beach. Also about 1.5 hours from the Blue City which is a Must-See. Thank you Banyan Toulmoudo Bay!

Lovely hotel in a peaceful setting. Great staff. On the negative side spa, although excellent, is very expensive, and also limited choice of food at hotel. I appreciate that it was not peak season and not all restaurants were open, but I didn’t expect what was open to offer such a limited choice

Just what you would expect from Banyan Tree with the quality of the all pool villa accommodation even better than most of the villas at Banyan Tree, Phuket. We had a garden pool villa which was excellent with the sizeable walled garden enclosed with honeysuckle and attractive planting. The separate lounge was an added attraction, with plenty of different areas both inside and out to sit and relax. Food in all the three restaurants was first class with good and varied choice, although breakfast selection was somewhat limited if you wanted traditional hot European food. Egg in different forms with additional items restricted to sausages and potatoes was a bit disappointing. If you like Moroccan food for breakfast the choice was better. Very good variety of cold items however including fresh fruit, cheeses, fish, meats, with numerous types of first rate breads, croissants, cakes and home made jams. Remember this is a five star hotel when ordering drinks, they are not cheap. Soft drinks, beer, and wine by the glass start at around £8.00, cocktails are about double this, with not much change out of £20.00 for a gin and tonic. We had a very nice bottle of Moroccan rose with a price tag, including service charge, of £60.00 or thereabouts. Hotel was quite quiet on our week's visit, which suited us just fine, with all the staff very friendly and attentive, although a knowledge of French, or Spanish, could be an added benefit in this Mediterranean area of Morocco.
