Cons: At check-out, I was unexpectedly confronted with an unacceptable situation. The night manager claimed that Booking’s payment system was “unavailable” and insisted — quite aggressively — that I had to pay the full amount in cash. This was never communicated in advance, and it completely contradicted the terms of my reservation, which was made with a credit card precisely so the charges would be processed electronically. Despite my clear explanation that I was not prepared to make a cash payment, the manager remained rude and inflexible, leaving me with no choice but to hand over all the cash I had with me. It was an embarrassing and deeply frustrating experience, and I left feeling misled and disrespected. To make matters worse, neither the manager nor Booking informed me beforehand about Morocco’s tourism tax, which varies and cannot be disputed. This lack of transparency only added to my dissatisfaction. Overall, the hotel’s handling of the situation — especially the manager’s attitude and the absence of proper communication — was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend this establishment.

The location was quite central to the main Medina. The courtyard was beautiful and was incredibly well decorated. The breakfast was delicious.
Cons: We were disappointed with our stay. Staff failed to meet us as promised, leaving us lost and vulnerable to scammers. Upon arrival, our booking couldn’t be located, and the receptionist was uninterested and on his phone. Later, the entry was blocked by a different receptionist and his children, who were running and screaming, forcing guests to step over people just to reach their rooms. The bathroom toilet was leaking, and the shower head had calcium deposits causing water to spray across the entirety of the bathroom. Breakfast (although delicious!) was made difficult with the amount of bees hovering over us and our food. My wife is allergic to bees.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The room was spotless and beautifully decorated, with everything I needed for a comfortable visit. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout my stay. The location was perfect . we would gladly return on my next trip. Highly recommended!
Cons: the room although a bit on the smaller side. A hair dryer wasn't available in the room, which would have been helpful. Otherwise, everything was pleasant and the stay was comfortable.

Nous avons annulé sur place compte tenu de l'accueil et du manque de sérieux du propriétaire insultant pas a la hauteur, ni de la réputation de l'hospitalité marocaine, ni de la politesse ni le professionnalisme d'un hébergeur sur un site touristique. Absent a notre arrivée il envoie son fils adolescent (très gentil au demeurant) qu'il maltraité au passage le prenant pour sa chose. Dans l'espoir que ce fils dépasse les manquements de ce père... Nous sommes repartis très très vite de Chefchaouen

Il riad è proprio nel cuore della medina di Chefchaouen, oltretutto a pochi minuti a piedi dal parcheggio dell'hotel Parador, dove potrete lasciare eventuali macchine in affitto per 30 dirham al giorno. Ha una bella terrazza da cui si gode uno splendido panorama della città blu e uno staff cordiale. La colazione è ricca e abbondante, con le consuete pietanze marocchine per il primo pasto della giornata. La camera, sebbene molto spartana, ha ciò che serve per trascorrere decentemente un paio di notti, compreso un prezioso mini-frigo piuttosto potente, fondamentale per refrigerare le bevande nel caldo torrido del giugno nordafricano.
Cons: Rispetto ad altri posti in cui siamo stati nel viaggio in Marocco, a parità di prezzo, lo Zaitouna è veramente minimale. La stanza è piccola, essenziale, senza fronzoli né abbellimenti di nessuno tipo, con un bagno "compatto" e acqua calda alimentata a energia solare che, quando fate la doccia, ci mette moltissimo ad arrivare. L'aria condizionata funziona ma comincia ad avere quei tipici problemi di raffreddamento che insorgono quando la manutenzione manca da un po', le zone condivise sono spartanissime e del riad mantengono solo la struttura, senza giardino, decorazioni o fonti d'acqua. Un posto che va bene per una o due notti senza troppe pretese.

Cons: El Riad bastante caótico,mal olor,taza del WC suelta,poca organización entre el personal.Por un descuido,no nos proporcionaron llave de la puerta exterior y nos dejaron encerradas sin poder salir la última noche. Llamamos varias veces al teléfono cuya disponibilidad tendría que haber sido hasta las 23:00 y nadie nos atendió. Volveremos a Chaouen, pero no a este Riad.

We had a wonderful stay at this riad in the heart of Chefchaouen, the iconic Blue City of Northern Morocco. The check-in process was smooth and hassle-free. While the riad itself is small, the rooms were surprisingly spacious—much larger than they appeared in the online photos. Everything was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. One of the highlights was the rooftop seating area, which also featured a small kitchen and offered a relaxing space to unwind. The staff served a delicious breakfast each morning, adding to the warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Cons: That said, there was a group of teenage boys being loud in the lobby late at night. I asked them to quiet down around 11:30 p.m., and again at 11:45 p.m., when I asked them to return to their rooms. They eventually quieted down, but the disturbance did affect the otherwise peaceful environment. Despite this, I would still recommend this riad to visitors. Die Lage inmitten der blauen Gassen. Morgens und Abends hat man viel Ruhe und kann vor dem Frühstück ungestört Chefchaouen anschauen. Die Zimmer waren in Ordnung, soweit sauber und warmes Wasser gab es in den Duschen. Das Frühstück war gut, die Dachterrasse wirklich wunderschön.
Cons: Wie bei fast jeder unserer Unterkünfte auf der Marokko-Reise geben wir auch hier Abzug für die intransparente Parkplatzinformation. Auf Nachfrage wurde uns dann der Parkplatz des Parador-Hotels angegeben, der kostenpflichtig ist. Von dort aus sind es noch etwa 240m zu Fuß. Durch die Gassen und Treppen kann das etwas anstrengend werden. Wir hatten kein Problem damit, aber man könnte auf der Booking.com-Seite direkt darauf hinweisen, wie die Situation vor Ort tatsächlich ist, oder auf Nachfrage direkt die Informationen geben. Unser Zimmer lag auf der Seite der Gasse. Direkt gegenüber ist ein Bäckerofen, wodurch das Zimmer bei offenem Fenster teils ziemlich verraucht war. Zudem gab es bis 1 Uhr nachts teils sehr laute Einheimische in den Gassen, sodass man beim Schlaf gestört wurde. Der Fön ging nach ein Mal benutzen nicht mehr an.

Un pochino rumoroso ma forse questo è dovuto alla maleducazione degli ospiti...l'acqua calda va e viene, meglio farsi la doccia la sera piuttosto che al mattino... il grande problema però rimane che il pagare in struttura significa pagare cash, non accettano le carte di credito. Problema da risolvere per non dover viaggiare con tanti contanti.

Kleines, gefälliges Riad inmitten der Altstadt. Nette Details, Dusche wie Nachbau Grotte, gefliestes Waschbecken, kleiner Zimmeralkoven mit Malerei in 3D,bemalte Türen...in blau. Gutes Frühstück auf der Dachterrasse bzw bei Regen auf äußeren Zimmerfluren.
Cons: Mit dem Doppelbett war das Zimmer überwiegend ausgefüllt. Zu den Seitenwänden 10-15 cm Platz. Im Gänsemarsch kam man nur ins Bett. Ein kleiner Clubsessel mit Bistrotisch vervollständigte die Ausstattung. Der Einbauschrank war für Ablage etc nicht wirklich zweckmäßig. Kofferablage gab es keine. Bad musste man einmal um sich selbst drehen. Als Alleinreisender machbar, aber nur 1-2 Nächte, da Wohlfühlfaktor bei echten (nur) 10 m/2 fehlt, zumal diese durchs Bett gefüllt sind. Zu zweit....nun schwierig, aber gut, insgesamt reichen für Chefchouen eh 2 Nächte.

Wunderschönes Riad in toller Lage mitten in der Medina. Die Atmosphäre ist sehr authentisch und man fühlt sich direkt wohl. Die Zimmer sind ausreichend groß, sehr sauber und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Frühstück wird frisch zubereitet und lässt wirklich keine Wünsche offen. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das freundliche und hilfsbereite Personal – man wird herzlich empfangen und bestens betreut. Einziger kleiner Minuspunkt: Parkmöglichkeiten in der Nähe sind leider sehr begrenzt. Trotzdem eine klare Empfehlung!

Toaleta foarte curată, patul confortabil, personalul de mare ajutor, mi-au scris inclusiv în ziua cazării dacă am nevoie de ajutor cu locația, deoarece nu este accesibilă cu mașina. Dar cel mai mult mi-a plăcut micul dejun, este foarte mult și foarte gustos și este servit într-un loc de poveste, aflat pe acoperișul riadului.
Cons: Nu este foarte ușor de găsit, veți avea nevoie de ajutor, deoarece nu se poate ajunge cu mașina aici, fiind interzis accesul în orașul vechi. Orele de servire a micului dejun, deoarece a început după ora 9:30, dar am inteles că a fost doar în perioada Ramadanului.

This was my favorite riad during our trip to Morocco. It is centrally located, paid parking is available nearby at Hotel Parador, the house is beautifully decorated, and it has two lovely terraces where you have breakfast in the morning. The views of Chef from the terrace are lovely, and breakfast is filling. Wifi worked well and the staff were kind to us.

The Riad is more beautiful than we expected and for sure it deserves a better review on Booking. The guys from the reception are really nice and very helpful. The Riad has a wonderful terrace where you can enjoy the view. The breakfast was amazing and the traditional bred was freshly baked. We enjoyed so much our stay here that we booked an extra night.

This riad is located in the medina so be prepared to climb uphill and stairs with your luggage. Our host spoke to a local who helped guide us to the riad in the medina and helped with our luggage for a small tip. Overall, the suite was decent with comfortable beds and pillows. There is a smell from the bathroom but that is due to the plumbing style and closing the bathroom door resolves the issue. The room was cool as expected in the winter, but the heater and blankets were fine. Breakfast and the views from the rooftop were both lovely. Our host recommended a restaurant to us for dinner and it was top notch. Wasn't noisy at all (visited in January). Overall a good stay.

La decoración, un Riad precioso, muy cuidado y limpio. La amabilidad del personal. El desayuno espectacular, riquísimo! La cama muy grande y cómoda, y la habitación también bastante grande. La ducha tenía buena potencia, aunque agua caliente sólo dio para una persona (la segunda tuvo problemas de presión). Y la localización genial, en la parte más bonita de Chaouen, aunque con un parking bastante cerca (el de Bab Mahrouk, 20 dh la noche).

J'ai bien apprécié l'hôtel. Le personnel est très accueillant et courtois. Le petit dej est vraiment délicieux et varié avec une belle vue sur la ville. Je recommande vivement. NB: pour ceux avec une voiture, Il faut planifier à l'avance l'emplacement du parking (je recommande la zone proche de la place outa El hamam) parce que, d'une part, il y a peu de places disponibles notamment en période de vacances. D'autres part, vous allez marcher à pieds un petit peu. Du coup, il faut apporter un léger bagage, idéalement un sac à dos.

And after that it would last for few seconds and you get a cold water on you, and again need to wait for hot water. The bathroom was full of mold and not so clean. The cleaning is bad. Sur le lit, il n’y avait qu’un simple drap très fin pour se couvrir, et une couverture dans le placard qui dégage une odeur désagréable. Nous avons eu froid toute la nuit, car le chauffage ne fonctionne pas. De plus, le confort du lit laisse à désirer, car les ressorts du matelas se font sentir à chaque mouvement. Je vais essayer d'être le plus objectif possible, la vue et le petit déjeuner était vraiment bien. La personne qui nous a servi le petit déjeuner était vraiment accueillant et souriant, merci à lui il rattrape notre mésaventure de la veille.
Cons: Lors de notre arrivée sur Tanger j'ai prévenue à 19h54 que nous arrivons dans 3h environ suite au retard de notre avion. Nous sommes arrivés sur place à 23h55, personne n'était sur place pour nous accueillir et l'hôtel était fermé. Pourtant à 22h42 l'hôtel m'a contacté pour me demander à nouveau si nous sommes encore loin et lui indique qu'il me reste 1h environ. Nous avons attendu devant l'hôtel avec ma femme lors de notre arrivée 20 minutes dehors devant la porte. 20 minutes plus tard, lors de son arrivée la personne de la réception était énervé, pas de bonjour, pas de sourire, pas d'explication, mais vraiment rien de rien. Il nous fait le check in est s'en va ! Nous avons vraiment eu peur lors de notre attente dehors dans le quartier qui n'est pas animé la nuit et dans l'hôtel où il y a personne qui surveille la nuit. Je ne parle pas de la chambre qui était vraiment petite et l'hygiène de la salle de bain à la limite du raisonnable, manque une serviette pour notre douche mais plus personne à la réception.

Perfect spot! I loved my stay here. The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff was very kind and helpful. They welcomed us in like family and helped us with taxis. The property had a beautiful rooftop where they serve an amazing breakfast! We had a great time and would highly recommend this place. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons eu la chance d’être surclassés, ce qui a été une agréable surprise. Le confort est tout simplement exceptionnel, avec une literie de qualité qui nous a permis de passer une nuit reposante. Le petit-déjeuner, typiquement marocain, était copieux et savoureux, une belle immersion dans la culture locale. Mention spéciale pour le personnel, dont la gentillesse et l’accueil chaleureux nous ont touchés, en contraste avec l’attitude parfois un peu insistante de certains habitants dans la médina. La ubicación es perfecta, se encuentra dentro de la medina y según sales ya puedes encontrarte con parte del encanto de chaouen, tienes una pequeña tienda con comida, una pastelería y zumos y una pequeña puerta que es la tienda de un señor con unos dulces riquísimos y baratísimos (menos de 10 centimos cada uno). El alojamiento es cómodo, con encanto, incluyen jabones y el desayuno esta genial, la vistas desde la terraza son maravillosas y se puede subir en cualquier momento a cualquiera de las dos terrazas.

The Riad is located in a very local and convenient area. In front of there is an old bakery and downstairs a shop to buy water. The Riad is very clean and the room is very comfortable. Very nice terraces as well. On the last day I wasn't feeling well and the host made us check out later. I really appreciate that. Breakfast was nice and with a good variety. I will suggest making any juice provided fresh instead of the already made one. I am sure many guests will appreciate that.
Cons: Unfortunately around September there are lots of bees on the terrace during breakfast. If you don't mind bees it is fine. The first floor terrace has a bit less so I would have breakfast there or early morning there shouldn't be many. The host was very accommodating but for me it wasn't a relaxing breakfast.

The Riyadh was quite quaint. The only thing that was awkward was breakfast is on the rooftop and there was too many bees. Otherwise stay was great. Make sure to wear good shoes. It is quite the trek up to the Riyadh.

Geweldige prijs- kwaliteitverhouding. Riad gelegen midden in de levendige medina en op korte loopafstand van prima parkeerplaats. Personeel zorgt voor welkom ontvangst en ontbijt is voor de prijs ook zeker goed! Geen grote kamers, maar alles wat je nodig hebt voor een uitstekend verblijf in Chefchaouen!
Cons: Een keer korte rioolgeur gehad op de kamer, maar was na paar uur weer verdwenen.

The riad is beautiful and has a gorgeous view from the balcony. It's in a good location to explore the medina but still close enough to the parking lot. The room was clean though very tiny. Breakfast was very good!
Cons: After reading all the other people complaining about the noises I was hoping that it would have been sorted out but no, it is actually pretty loud at night till midnight. The shower head didn't work very well, the water was coming out all on one side. Since the rooms are quite small I would recommend them to remove the big coffee table to allow for more room to move around the bed!

Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und wurde auf der Dachterrasse mit wundervoller Aussicht angeboten. Insgesamt gibt es zwei Terrassen, von denen man einen super schönen Blick über die blaue Stadt, die Festung und die Berge hat. Ideal geeignet, um dort den Sonnenuntergang zu bewundern. Das Personal war extrem freundlich und kompetent und gab uns wertvolle Tipps. Wir nutzten auch den Wäscheservice für 50 MAD (ca 5 Euro) und waren sehr zufrieden damit. Das Zimmer war schön, groß und hatte ein sehr bequemes Bett. Das Wasser wird mit Sonnenenergie erwärmt.

Cons: Solitamente nei riad offrono the di benvenuto e acqua in camera ma in questo caso no. La stanza è piccola e stretta. Il bagno non curato ( un tubo del lavandino perde acqua). Colazione disturbata da molte api, consiglierei l'utilizzo di caffè da bruciare per allontanare le api anziché mettere il piattino di marmellata dove farle mangiare e avvicinare a sciami.

Jolie chambre avec 2 fenêtres. Douche originale. Excellent petit déjeuner copieux sur le toit terrasse. Le rapport qualité/prix. L' emplacement au coeur de la Médina, pas trop bruyant car double vitrage.
Cons: La résonance de l intérieur du riad quand des "grandes gueules" de Français ont l impression qu il n' y a qu eux dans l hôtel ! Du coup, l intérieur est plus bruyant que l extérieur... L' accès pas facile car beaucoup de marches à monter avec la valise. On peut la faire porter par des petits jeunes à l entrée de la Médina.

Apesar de confortável está Muito mais deteriorado do que aparenta nas fotos! Fica relativamente próximo a restaurantes, lavamos nossas roupas, atendimento foi bom.
Cons: Tem muita subida até chegar no hotel, a estrutura está mais deteriorada do que aparenta nas fotos, não encontramos funcionários na recepção a todo momento… decidimos seguir viagem mais cedo do que o planejado e ligávamos no número deixado na recepção e ninguém nos atendia.

Het enige wat ons beviel was dat het personeel erg vriendelijk was. Verder was het ontbijt zeer huiselijk maar wel lekker.
Cons: De lokatie is weliswaar in het oude centrum echter het licht hoog en in het midden van alle verdiepingen en trappen. Het is uiterst onmogelijk om met de auto in de buurt te komen, daarom moet je de koffers 500-1000 m gaan dragen over alle trappen en verdiepingen. Het is erg lastig en vermoeiend. Voor ons nooit meer.
