Great location, right next to Bahia Palace. The rooftop was lovely, really enjoyed sitting there in the sun and having breakfast.

Lovely staff, comfortable room, food was tasty (we had and evening meal, organised for us at short notice. The manager even made our son a special snack .
Cons: a small comment - a second AC in our family room/suite would have been nice as the current AC didn't reach/change the temperature beyond the main bedroom so our son couldn't feel the benefits of an AC.

If you want a true Moroccan experience, Riad Swaka Is the place to stay. Very friendly staff, they are professional but they're also capable of making you feel at home. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast in the terrace is such a pleasant experience. Special thanks to Abdul (and Semir) Riad Swaka is well inside the Medina's small streets, a little bit isolated, but we never felt unsafe, even when we came back at night, all alleys on the path are well illuminated.
Cons: Nothing.

We had an amazing stay in Riad Swaka. The Riad itself is very pretty and has a nice rooftop terrace. Samir and Abdul are extremely friendly and helpful - they will recommend you some nice activities and restaurants. Samir picked us up when we arrived near the parking, and showed us the way to the Riad. The location is great, it feels safe, we walked everything. The breakfast was always on the roof terrace, and every day we got something else. All tasted really good, we even got our cappucino's with it!
Cons: There is a parking relatively closeby, but difficult to find using Google Maps. We ended up in the middle of the Medina with our car. Thanks to the helpful manager from Riad Swaka, we found our way back via video calling. Once you know where you need to be, it's easy to find.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly Let's start with the good. The room was decent and clean. It could use a fixer up, and things were getting worn, but all in all, liveable. Beds are firm but comfortable. The 2 managers on staff were great. Samir and Abdul made sure we were accommodated day or night. They are available when we need them, whether for questions or booking a car. The food was good. The hamburgers were amazing and freshly made, not frozen. Moroccan salad was super refreshing. Fresh squeezed orange juice at breakfast was awesome. I loved that they had a Nespresso machine in the room as I like to enjoy my coffee in quiet before waking the rest of my family. Now for the bad. Our room had two leaks. The toilet had a slow leak somewhere in the back where we could not see, and a puddle would form slowly. In the bedroom area, there was a leak from the ceiling as we returned to the room one night. It drenched 2 of our shirts, but thankful did not get any of our electronics. We notified Samir, and it was fixed by morning. The pool was directly above our room and where the leak was from. The shower also had a broken interior handle, so no one could shower without the help of someone helping you open and close the glass door from outside. And for the ugly. We returned multiple days in a row to find our makeup being used. The first few days, I thought I had just forgotten and left our stuff out unorganized. But by the 3rd day, my daughter noticed that her brand new,

Beautiful little riad, lovely friendly staff and the best mint tea I had whilst in Marrakesh! If you are looking for a 5 star hotel with all the bells and whistles don’t book, but if you want to be in the heart of Marrakesh and really feel where you are this is perfect! The breakfasts were traditional and lovely! The cooking class we had with the chef was great! A lovely place that is truly charming, is tricky to find the first time but if you are like us and got so lost we called and they FaceTimed us and guided us that way, once found it was fine finding the way back even after a few drinks. We will definitely be going back. It was wonderful and so easy to walk to everywhere in the medina area.

We had a wonderful stay at Riad Swaka and were warmly welcomed by Mohamed when we arrived. The riad itself is beautiful – our room was clean, cozy, and always well taken care of throughout our stay. The location is perfect: right in the heart of the old Medina, just next to the impressive Ben Youssef Palace. Breakfast was delicious every morning, and the atmosphere around the pool was peaceful and relaxing. A special thank-you to Abdul – he was incredibly kind, always available for a nice conversation, and genuinely interested in making sure we were comfortable. You can really feel that the hosts here take their time to understand your needs and wishes. We highly recommend Riad Zwarka to anyone looking for an authentic and warm stay in Marrakech.

The staff was very helpful and very friendly. We interacted mainly with Samir and will remember his very positive attitude, his smile and the time he spent with us to help us and answer our questions. This ‘experience’ was fantastic, inside the Medina is a mesmerising chaos but the riad was quite cool and a haven. This is not a hotel but a traditional riad. Nothing was too much trouble, even obtaining alcohol during Ramada.Local knowledge was always available. Breakfast was traditional and very nice. We were met at the airport and then on the street to be taken down many alleys to the riad , I would suggest you need this if you’re new to the area Would I stay here again? In a heartbeat, thank you for a great and memorable week

The staffs were all amazing. Samir and Abdullah are really kind and accommodating. They helped us a lot during our stay and the hotel really exceeds our expectations. For such a cheap price, we had a beautiful traditional room and breakfast was delicious. All are freshly made and we loved it. The place is also near of everything. The square, palais el bahia, place menallah are a few minutes walk away. The place is also safe amd has free wifi. Just look out for the motorcycles on the streets. At first, you would think that it’s scary because there’s a lot of narrow streets before the hotel, but that’s the beauty of it. My friends and I really had fun and will definitely go back again. Additionally, Samir helped us book a taxi going to airport even on his day off. He is such a sweetheart. I definitely recommend the hotel. Also, if you want to buy argan oils and anything for souvenirs, go to the store beside the cafe restaurant at palace menallah. Just on other street. Look for Isham. He is very good at explaining every product and will give you a discount! He such a good berber. I will put the image of his shop on this.

Immaculately clean and very comfortable with high attention to detail - great bedding etc Fantastic value. Lovely breakfast on the terrace, changes every day. We especially loved the yoghurt ( home made) and the honey. Best of all, though, is the level of 24- hour service . Nothing is too much trouble and it really made us feel so confident and happy in what was a strange city for us. Abdul met our taxi ( sent by the riad to the airport) to guide us and waited with us for the taxi to go back. Every advice and help was given by Abdul and Samir - how much things should cost, where to go etc. everyone at the riad so friendly and nice. I’d recommend wholeheartedly.
Cons: We got lost returning on our first night as the riad is very tucked away in a maze of alleys, but we were fine after that - and in the light! Abdul pointed out we should have rung him; he would have come to find us!

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It’s the lovely staff that are the best thing about it: on our first trip to Marrakesh, we were made to feel so welcomed, reassured, safe… Samir and Abdul went out of their way patiently to answer all queries and give guidance on, for example, what we should be paying for taxis, as well as the usual recommendations for restaurants etc. The rooms are lovely, simple and stylish with attention to important detail such as really good bedding and decent shower. Air conditioning. Lovely roof terrace, great breakfast- which is a bit different every day. Everything immaculately clean and efficient. The riad is hard to find at first but you soon get to know the route and wave hello to friendly shop keepers and cats! The staff give you their number in case of need and arrange cars to and from the airport - they meet you and guide you as the taxi can’t get right up through the alleys. Only other thing is that there is some noise from other guests coming and going I think that’s just the riad set- up. All in all I consider this place to be fantastic value. Samir, Abdul and lovely, smiling staff all round made our stay so relaxing and enjoyable.

This riad is in old Medina. The streets leading to this riad are rundown and (partially) not lit. Breakfast is OK. Our room was small. Bathroom is in sad state and needs a substantial renovation. Samir and Abdoul were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Marrakech medina is rundown and not well maintained. Noisy motorcycles roam around in medina’s narrow alleys and spew malodorous smoke everywhere making strolling in Medina an unpleasant experience. Trying street food in the main square is a noisy and nerve wracking experience Street food quality is OK at best. One would be better off to find a place in new part of town.

Abdoul was the highlight of the place, the Riad is beautiful, very clean and peaceful. All staff were always smiling and always ready to bring you whatever you need. Abdoul kept us company and always had something nice to say and share with us, recommended places to visit and good restaurants that were not expensive and the food was amazing. Breakfast at the Riad was different everyday, a lot of different choices to eat and drink. I will 100% stay here again.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was great.

The staff was amazing, anything you needed someone was there to assist. Would have loved to have known about ordering dinner in the morning before we arrived, as it was too late to order for that night and after 20 hour trip to arrive, we were too tired to try and explore food options. This Riad is nice and quiet, but requires a short walk through winding paths to get to anywhere to get food or anything else. Riad should also put something on confirmation telling future guests that taxi cannot drop at th door. We ended up paying a cab which circled around trying to find it before the cab driver loaded our bags into a hand cart that another person pushed through the maze with us following on foot to the Riad. It makes a funny story, but two sleep deprived tourists were not amused when it happened. So more information on how to arrive, and possible the suggestion to allow a dinner reservation in advance of the check in would make the visit perfect. That said, the food was wonderful! I loved my cooking lesson with Zahera. Put that on the website as well!

It's a hidden paradise in a fantastic location in the heart of Marrakech. The place is beautiful but what makes it are the staff from Samir who gave us all the information we needed and made himself very accessible, organising transport to the airport, giving us the best prices for things and arranging camel riding. Then there is Abdul, a Berber who was keen to teach anyone about the local language and culture, is always keen to help out and cooks the best tagine, morrocan salad and croquettes that you will have while in Morocco.

It’s a beautiful little Riad in a great location in Medina. The staff are amazing people and very helpful. We dealt with Samira, Mohamed, and Abdul. They were very helpful and accommodating. It made our stay very enjoyable. The rooftop is also nice to sit for breakfast and enjoy the sunshine. The mattresses are a little bit too hard for my liking, but everything else was great. Make sure you get in touch with them before for directions, or else it could be quite tricky to find for a first timer to Marrakech.

Our stay at Riad Swaka was absolutely wonderful. The room was clean, well decorated, and extremely quiet. We had our best nights sleep in ages there. As it’s situated in the old city, finding it initially through the mazy streets was slightly tricky. If you call ahead, they will send someone to meet you and guide you to the Riad. Samir was an excellent host and provided us with hospitality which was way above and beyond. For instance my stomach was playing up one evening so he cut some rosemary from the terrace garden to make a tea and it really did help. He also made an excellent breakfast which we enjoyed on the roof terrace overlooking Bahia Palace in the morning sun. Although we were only there for a couple of nights, we wished it was for longer and will be looking to stay here again on our next visit to Marrakech.

This Riad was an amazing stay. The service was amazing - Abdul greeted us when we first arrived with Moroccan tea and gave us some great tourist places to go to! The Riad itself is quite hard to find (especially if arriving in the dark) but we managed it eventually. It is a close enough walk to the hustle and bustle of the Medina markets but feels so quiet when at the Riad.

What3words address if you’re struggling to find the place: unwell.adding.allows - it is quite unclear on google maps and difficult to find on day 1. We couldn’t have asked for a better host in Marrakesh. I would strongly recommend you stay here. Samir is there everyday and they even had Abdul working the night shift if you want a pot of tea or really anything. If you’re still hungry after breakfast they will cook you more food and Samir booked our day tours (which was cheaper than we found online), gave us lots of recommendations and even walked us to our shuttle bus.
Cons: Samir, the safe is not secured to anything and very light so I would recommend attaching to the wardrobe. Other then that no faults!

We had the best time! Abdul and Sameer were amazing, so welcoming and friendly - they helped us with everything (getting taxis, finding our way around, recommendations for restaurants and activities, plus I arrived alone and Abdul walked me to the restaurant where I was meeting friends to make sure I got there safely), and always with a smile! Abdul taught us how to make the traditional Moroccan tea and taught us about local traditions, which was really interesting. The riad was clean and comfortable, amazing rooftop and really close to the main square and Souk. Breakfast was incredible, and Zahira made the most delicious breads (for breakfast and afternoon snacks). We would 100% go back to Riad Swaka and recommend for anyone to stay here! Perfect for groups and solo travelers. The personal touches as it’s a small place made our stay extra special.

Riad Swaka was absolutely incredible! We arrived quite late and were able to add an evening meal to our booking which was absolutely delicious. We were given such a warm welcome by Abdoul and Samir, who were always available to help us with recommendations and Arabic lessons! It was like being welcomed by family and we can’t wait to return. I would recommend this riad to everyone; it is right in the heart of the action, but is absolutely peaceful and quiet and just the most beautiful place.

Quiet Oasis overlooking the Palace garden entrance. Abdul & Samir were thoughtful kind hosts and Zahira a great cook. We loved the security and relaxing on the terrace. Lovely Moroccan details in the decor. We stayed a week and felt really at home. We even enjoyed the many confusing lanes to find it once we had orientated . Comfy beds
Cons: By the end of the week the generous breakfasts which were tasty but very carb based, began to be too much. More fruit and cereal is needed perhaps. Remember to take ear plugs because Riads by nature are not that soundproof. All guests were considerate and we slept well. The pool is more of a water feature to dip your toes in.

We really enjoyed our few days at Riad Swaka. We stayed in the family room with two teenagers and found it clean & comfortable with enough space for four of us. An oasis of calm in the middle of the Medina. Abdul & Samir and the team made us feel very welcome and were very helpful with tips for where to visit, good restaurants to eat at, and even how to barter in the souks. Breakfast on the roof terrace was plentiful - a mix of local pancakes, pastries, yoghurt, omelettes etc changing each day. We took the Riad up on the option of a taxi to meet us at the airport (Euro 20) and they met us to guide us on foot for the last couple of minutes to the Riad - glad we did as I’m not sure we’d have found the Riad initially without their help! Location was very convenient though - right next to Palais Bahia and a ten minute walk to Place Jemaa el Fna. We’d definitely go back if we return to Marrakech.

Incredibly friendly staff, did everything they could to accomodate our difficult diet (gluten and lactose intolerances). Breakfast was served on the terrace up the roof, lovely atmosphere. The staff informs you but doesn't in any way pushes to buy tours or other services. The Riad itself is in a quiet street of the Medina (ok ok, wild cats and a few bits of rubbish in the streets, otherwise safe and above all quiet). Everything is nearby and can be visited on foot.
Cons: To save energy, NOT to change towels every day, but only when necessary, I suggest to put signs in every bathroom that would say to 'In order to save our water, Please put the towels into the bath if you want them to be replaced by fresh ones.'

We arrived late (midnight) at the airport and requested a taxi which the riad kindly sent to us... Nothing more comfortable than being taken care of after a flight. Abdoul and Samir (during the day) took care of us, with warmth, knowledge, and kindness. The riad is in a quiet area of the Medina, the little map provided helped us not to get too lost! Breakfast was heaven, we were provided with eggs every morning as we are intolerant to gluten (so crepes or bread are complicated for us), and Samir even provided olive oil from his village for us (passionate about olives and olive oil) to try,Bless him! The room was lovely, and quiet too (the only problem could be noisy neighbors if they are not respectful), otherwise, fantastic room and bathroom, we felt at home immediately! WE WILL BE BACK AS SOON AS WE CAN!

Very nice Riad in a good location. Pool on the roof was small, but good for young children.
Cons: The meal at the hotel was the most expensive in Morrocco. It was more than we pay normally in Barcelona for food. I should have confirmed prices before booking, but the prices were exploitative. They insisted on the same charge for a 5 year old as for adults. Otherwise the stay was pleasant.

The details of this Riad were slightly misleading as there wasn't a bar, hot tub or room service and the location of this Riad meant that we couldnt be picked up directly for day trips. Having said that, Samir was the saving grace for us as he made this Riad 'something special'. He went above and beyond the call of duty for us by making us feel so welcome and he makes the BEST TEA!!! We cant thank him enough as it wouldn't have been the same experience without him. Samir....we won't forget what you did for us, the late night chats...i could go on...!! Thanks Samir 😀

Riad Swaka was an absolute dream. It was the perfect place to spend our final night in Morocco; beautifully designed, stunning rooftop, clean, and extremely personable staff. We will definitely be returning and this time for longer. The hotel manager Lotfe (sp?) was an incredible host. He booked us a reservation at Le Jardin, which I highly recommend, and treated us like royalty. Samir, who worked the night shift, was also incredible. Although we’re in Marrakech very briefly, our stay at Riad Swaka made it 100% worthwhile.

Building: Riad Swaka is spotless, peaceful and tastefully decorated. There were so many gorgeous areas plotted around the Riad to relax. Our bathroom had a beautiful bath/ shower that we wish we could take home. The air con worked a treat too! Our favourite part about the Riad was the stunning rooftop area where we spent most of our time. There is a small pool to cool off in and loungers to soak up the sun. We had all of our fabulous breakfasts served to us on the rooftop. There were also two separate sheltered snugs to curl up into. Location: The location was perfect for us! We walked about ten mins into the centre where most of the markets are. It was also ideal because there was a taxi rank (1 min walk) from the Riads. The taxi men were so helpful and even gave us a historical insight and tour along the way! The Riad is close to all of the major tourist attractions. Staff: I have been to many 5 star hotels and feel the service provided here is just as good. The staff are professional, friendly, helpful, accommodating and go above and beyond to ensure you have an amazing stay. Overall I would definitely recommend this place to stay! I will be telling my friends and family to stay here when they come to Marrakech.

Together with some friends I stayed in this awesome hotel in the middle of the centre. Staying in this hotel was one of our best decisions of the trip. We loved every second. This was the very first time we all came to Africa, so it was so nice that the hotel gave us so many useful information. We have to be honest about the fact that the moments we spend on that rooftop where just perfect. Not only is there a small pool, a lot of tropical plants, chairs,... It's also completely silent. It's the perfect place to escape from the busy souks. Samir, one of the men working there, became such a good friend. He always brought us tea and he just made the best breakfast. Whenever we will visit Marrakech again, it will be in this hotel. I would recommend this place to every one. One annoying thing was that the wifi is not working in the rooms.

Excellent, reasonably priced accommodation a few minutes away from all the action. Our room was great as it had a window, clean comfy beds, excellent pillows, and lights above our individual beds. The terrace is beautiful complete with bird songs and the breakfasts sumptious. But the best part of the experince is the staff, especially Samir, our teacher, who taught us so much about Morrocan/Berber life. My only suggestion is there should be a TIP BOX for the staff in the main area.

Once we figured out how to get to and from the Riad it was easy to find. Negotiating the Souk between there and the main square became a challenge, to "Run the Gauntlet" without being hassled by the local shopkeepers we managed by the 2nd day. Being waited on and pampered was wonderful after our previous city. The rooftop terrace and plunge pool was heaven. They couldn't do enough for us.
