Our stay at Riad Dar One was truly unforgettable. Visiting Morocco was a dream of mine, and this riad made the experience even more special. The location is perfect in the Medina and within walking distance to many attractions. Communication with Abdelhak was excellent from the start — he arranged our airport transfer, helped with dinner selections, and stayed in touch throughout our stay. A very special thank you to Hakim, who treated us with such kindness from the moment we arrived. He carried our luggage, welcomed us with mint tea and biscuits, explained everything clearly, and always made sure we were safe and comfortable. His warmth and genuine care made us feel at home. The riad itself is beautiful, clean, and peaceful. Our room was spacious and the bathroom felt luxurious. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and the dinners prepared by Chef Hayat and Chef Rachida were some of the best meals we had in Morocco. We loved every moment of our stay and can’t wait to return. Thank you to the entire Riad Dar One team for an amazing experience. With gratitude, Jeanette and Joel Reeves NJ, USA

Location was close to the Bahia Palace. Call the staff to meet you at the main street as the entry is a little hidden. The passage to the door was lined with plants and warm lighting. The staff was wonderful and served tea upon arrival. Our room was lovely and comfortable with high ceilings and ample space. The bathroom was large with an enormous bathtub. Breakfast was different every morning and it was delicious!
Cons: The earthquake of 2023 cause a couple of the buildings nearby to collapse. It did not affect the riad though.

The staff did a great job coordinating my arrival from the train station all the way to the Riad. When leaving, they did the same from the Riad all the way to the airport. I had reserved several tours from other operators and Riad staff helped to make sure I was able to get to the meeting point.

The Riad was absolutely gorgeous and the atmosphere was relaxing. The rooftop was so peaceful and enjoyable in the evening. The staff members make the stay a veritable experience with providing advice, perfect service and presence. The location could not be better, everything is near by. The breakfast is really good, with plenty of fresh options !
Cons: It seems to be that the Riad was a bit understaffed while we were staying and we were sometimes unsure about asking for some piece of advice or services. Also some of the listed services don't actually exist : note that no laundry services are proposed in the Riad. The jacuzzi is not in service since several months now but the update was not mentioned at the time we reserved and it was a bit disappointing to discover it when we arrived.

Very small riad conveniently located near the edge of the medina. Easy to find your way in and out. Breakfast was good and staff very helpful. We had to get transportation to a wedding and they assisted in finding a driver that could pick us up late at night. It was also nice and quiet and the a/c worked great.
Cons: Given the magic of many of the riads we stayed in on our three week trip, this one lacked the attention to detail in the design and small touches; given the price. The bed had a basic sheet and a small blanket. Soap and shampoo but no other toiletries. The rug in the room has seen better days but we don't have allergies so it wasn't a big deal. The rooftop has high walls hence no view. We didn't see anyone using it while we were there - although we didn't eat dinner at the riad.

The Riad had the most wonderful feeling and atmosphere to it. It was comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and an absolute treat each morning. We also had dinner the one evening and I would argue it was the best food we had in Morocco.
Cons: We unfortunately only had a bath in our bathroom, which wasn't as convenient especially after a long dusty day. I would also say the path towards the Riad needs a bit of a cleanup.

Tucked away little oasis. Beautiful design and peaceful surroundings. Hakim was welcoming, kind and so helpful. Superb location but you don't hear a peep. Terrace was a lovely spot for tea or some wine. We had dinner in one night and it was fantastic. Everything was very easy and we felt very well looked after.

It's difficult to list all the things my friend and I loved about Riad Dar One. The location in Mellah was perfect for us. An easy walk into the heart of the medina yet far enough away that we enjoyed peaceful rest in the evenings. The rooms felt unique and cozy, and we really appreciated the A/C units that helped beat the June heat. But above everything else, our stay was extraordinary because of the kindness of the staff, especially Hakim. His patience giving directions, translating for us with a driver from another tour company, serving a bottle of wine on the rooftop, remembering how we take coffee/tea in the mornings-- and above everything else, coming to my friend's rescue when she got scared by a beetle in her room at midnight. We are still laughing about what she described as something pterodactyl-sized; Hakim just smiled and said "not that big!" and scooped it up for her. I would enthusiastically recommend Riad Dar One to anyone with plans to visit Marrakesh.
Cons: Honestly, we couldn't think of a thing we'd change. Other than perhaps staying even longer next time

This is a lovely riad and I would be happy to return. As soon as you open the door you are away from the hustle and bustle in a sweet-smelling space, nicely restored in calming colours, with a tinkling fountain - is is very relaxing. The location is very convenient: as it's within the medina it is walkable to all the major historic sights but it is tucked away in quiet streets so you are not disturbed. We ate dinner here one night and the food was delicious, as were the lovely (large!) breakfasts. The staff here are very nice, so helpful and always around to say hello and offer advice. They booked us great excursions and arranged taxis for us. Many thanks to Abdel, Hakim and everyone else for a wonderful trip. We couldn't have asked for anything more!

I loved everything about the property. We were catered to by Hakim. He was awesome and the staff (cooks and cleaning)was amazing. A cosy place tucked away behind the Bahia palace with excellent staff. Hakim was exceptional. Would recommend a pick up as the place is not easy to find and the approach to the Riad was through a series of alleyways. Please avoid booking the room on the second floor if you have mobility issue.

The host was exceptional and went beyond what was expected of him, even coming in early on the day we had a day trip to ensure we had breakfast. Great location and value for money was also good.
Cons: Mattress was as solid as a rock. If situated on the ground floor, expect noise level to be high, as no sound proofing at all. We could hear every person talking as well as the main door opening/closing, in addition to the water fountain being on too late into the night.

This was our first visit to Morocco, and the experience exceeded our expectations. Our stay at this riad was excellent. The staff was very welcoming, always smiling, and attentive to every detail. They helped us with everything we needed, from arranging transfers and a lovely dinner upon arrival to booking a relaxing massage. The riad is beautifully decorated, with a calm and elegant atmosphere, offering a peaceful retreat from the busy streets outside. We truly enjoyed spending time there. The room was very clean, with daily housekeeping, and provided ideal conditions for rest—complete silence and total darkness at night, which was especially important for me. Mornings began with the cheerful chirping of small birds on the terrace, a pleasant start to the day.

Riad Dar One is a beautiful, tranquil oasis in the bustling wonder that is Marrakesh and the walled city. Hakim and the entire staff here are wonderfully kind, attentive, warm and caring people who do an excellent job representing Morocco's ancient traditions of hospitality. A special thanks to Hakim for doing so much to care and look out for people's needs. The place is beautiful and well-maintained, breakfast is delicious and fresh, but the kindness and warmth of the people are what stood out beyond everything else to me. As a woman traveling alone I learned it can be super helpful to call the Riad to meet you next to the palace and walk with you the last 2 blocks if it's your first time getting there, and if it's after dark and they can meet and walk the last two blocks with you if you ever feel this would be helpful for peace of mind too, and it was so deeply appreciated to know this. There was only one time I didn't feel completely safe around the location as a woman traveling solo, and that wasn't because of the wonderful community right there. I knew I could call the Riad if needed, and I generally felt very safe in the medina, just have to be smart and have a Riad you know will be there for you if needed! Thank you for a beautiful stay!

Location was very close to the Jewish quarter and Medina. Bed and sheets were super comfortable. Staff consisted of one guy who oriented us day 1, but the only other guy who handled breakfast was friendly.
Cons: We had high expectations for this Riad after all the amazing reviews. Not sure if the owner has changed since last online reviews that mentioned the owner who we never saw. But the rooms had no toiletries, except a soap bar and shampoo. No water bottles, no fridge. Bathroom didn’t empty with rising water. Breakfast was mediocre with banana/ apple salad , ok, a piece of cake, bread. No cereals, yogurt or variety of fruit. Once was offered an omelette. Drip coffee free but espresso payable. Taxis around town incl to airport 4-5€ but property charges 15€ in town and 20€ to airport. Very easy to hail cab. We did it no problems. Tell driver how much you pay and where. They always accepted what we offered no hassle with a smile!

Gorgeous Riad in a great location. The staff were amazing. A special shout out to Hakim and Abdelhak who were fantastic and looked after us amazingly well with big smiles on their faces. I think Abdelhak is the happiest person I've ever met. We were left to our own devices but they were there if we needed anything. The Riad is a calm and quiet oasis away from the busy streets of Marrakesh but within walking distance of most of the sights. The rooms are gorgeous and it has the added bonus of a small pool. Great for dipping hot feet into at the end of a long hot day! I would love to visit Marrakesh again and Riad Dar One will be top of my list for accommodation.

Peaceful, intimist, clean. The breakfast is changing every days. They helped us with the booking of restaurants, activities and so on. Really dedicated. It is well located (15min from Jemaa El fna by foot, which is cool as it is then quiet). I 100% recommend it

Staff were perfect and welcoming. Shout out to lovely Hamik who single handedly looked after us, especially during my sickness and birthday celebrations. Unbelievable massage on-site, one of the best my mum and I have ever had.
Cons: The breakfast was ok but I've stayed in much cheaper hotels in Morocco and had a much better breakfast. A personal taste thing but we didn't love the decor, it was devoid of the Moroccan spirit we love so much. Our room in particular was very dark and didn't have enough lights (easy fix) and we felt like we were in a fishbowl with the window/bed situation. The pool upstairs wasn't working but it wasn't warm enough to use anyway.

The decor was traditional but also luxurious and chic. The staff was like family to us almost immediately. They care about their guests more than any place I’ve ever stayed before. They truly will make your trip. Abdel in particular, the manager, will be texting you constantly and making sure you are experiencing Morocco to the fullest. Even after I left he continued to help me with my trip. The rooms were so comfortable, clean, and stylish. My ultimate favorite hotel I’ve stayed at.

The staff were so helpful, offering a airport taxi service, an arrival meal and recommendation's to the best restaurants and sights. We booked 2 rooms via booking. we have stayed at the riad dar one twice before and they were always welcoming. this time around Mr. Abdelhak meet us at Palais Bahia with incredible rude manners and unbelievable speech. He yell at me for not having stayed opposite Palais Bahia main entrance, he refused to pick our bags from the car (stating there are cameras everywhere and he could not be seen carrying bags); I asked him to advise us as to the best place to park both cars and our motorbikes and he nodded stating it was my problem only ‘you shouldn’t have brought it to Morocco’, he said. At the end he walked away from us, allegedly because of the hidden cameras at the Medina and sent me an WhatsApp stating I should cancel my reservation. which i ended up doing and let me later in Marrakech without a place for my husband and I and my 2 children to sleep…
Cons: whatever reasons Mr. Abdelhak had for wanting to cancel our reservation his manners were by no means acceptable. This place is not trustable to be eligible for booking references. Message from Mr. Abdelhak, were he states we ought to cancel, attached for further reference.

Very attentive staff. Very good maintained and decorated Riad. Location is good, because with the proximity to Palais Bahia, it's an easy reference for taxi drivers and everything reachable in the center by foot, without beeing completely in the medina. Good breakfast
Cons: Nothing that really bothered us. We had a room on the ground floor to the yard and at night a couple had the dinner in the hotel right next to our room, starting very late - that troubled a bit our sleep. I think you may get better value for money in other places, rate seemed a bit overpriced.

The property is in a fantastic location, round the corner from the Bahia Palace and a short walk from the main square and souks, but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. Some maintenance is needed on the property if overall it’s a beautiful riad.
Cons: We arrived to a very warm welcome from Abdelhak, who explained some key areas on the map, recommended a few places to eat and suggested we could use the taxi at the hotel any time (he only needed 10 minutes notice) and that any trip, regardless of the distance would be 20€. Based on his recommendation we used it for the first night, but having called our own taxi for the journey home realised what a rip off this was - the journey home was only 5€ in a local taxi. Worth it for the airport transfer though. We didn’t really see Abdel again until we checked out. We requested a taxi back to the airport and were told we should have asked him earlier as it was too short notice now (we thought he said 10 minutes notice?) but suggested we share with another couple, which worked out fine thanks to the other couple being so accommodating. Upon checkout Abdel informed us we had to pay cash for the three taxi journeys we had made, I asked if he could add it to the room as we had no cash left and he got very shirty with me, insisting that I hadn’t read his WhatsApp messages correctly and showing me on his phone that he had told me this over a week ago. Fine maybe he did, but there was no need for him to be so rude to us - especially as this was our last impression of the riad. When we checked in he helped us with our bags and was so welcoming but upon checkout there was no such help! Anyway, we chose this riad as all the reviews said it was so friendly and the staff were so welcoming. In my opinion if you use their ‘recommendations’ so they can make extra money from you then I’m sure they are very helpful, but if you do your own thing then they are not bothered about you. I’m sure others would disagree, but all 4 of us felt the same way, having said that I think most people in Marrakesh are out to make money from you in any way they can so we shouldn’t t have expected anything different from the hotel! Overall the riad is nice, very clean and in a great location.

Lovely place to stay, with even nicer people. Karim - thank you! Just don't try to find it yourself. Take the airport pick up service.

This is a lovely Riad, but it seems that rooms don't have televisions, and my room only had a large tub, but no shower.

Darone was the perfect oasis for my stay in Marrakech. It was super clean, super luxurious , staff was beyond helpful and i had the whole place by myself since the pandemic decimated the tourist industry in the world. If you are in Marrakech, make sure you check out Darone as you will not regret it

Location was key. Could walk to the Djema el Fnaa & souk (but be "far" enough to escape it), Koutubia, Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, Badia Palace. Everyone was sincerely interested in making our stay as relaxed and fuss free as possible: luggage, breakfast, laundry, information, etc. Marrakech can be overwhelming. Riad Dar One truly helped balance it all off :)

Lovely riad and staff!!! The only downside is that it's located down a narrow alleyway which can be a tad scary at night...

Where to start about this place! Location: A little difficult to find at first but once found you will appreciate what a great location it is. Staff: Very friendly, very patient, good english, the owner himself is very passionate about the Riad and it shows, service is on par if not better than most luxury hotels . Rooms: Slightly smaller than expected, but clean, bed was a little small for my 6ft 2 frame (used to sleeping in a king at the very least) Lighting was a little on the dark side but that's not a huge issue. No TV in our room, which at first was surprising, but actually we did not need one as it really meant we could get away from it all. Breakfast: Decent breakfast, a lot more bread than i'm used to, A regular portion of fruit with breakfast would be nice, but otherwise good. Overall: Great place to visit, very relaxing, very good for couples, The staff is what makes this place great they work very hard and are honest, polite and pleasant people. The owner will go out of his way to make you happy and will look after you well. Thank you

Normally when I travel I look for just good value places. Good bed & shower is all I need. This place looks beautiful and it is. The location is perfect and the staff makes you feel like family. I cannot stress enough how much I enjoyed my time here. They will take care of you.

We stayed for six nights. This riad is clean with very nice decor. The staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. Communication before and during our stay was quick and easy, and everything that was arranged with them (eg, transfers and excursions) was as expected. The location is close to many attractions - 1 minute away from Bahia Palace; less than 10 mins walk to Jemaa el Fna. Breakfast was included and tasty. I highly recommend this riad.

I can't recommend this Riad enough. First class service from all the staff. Amazing room and fantastic bath. Lovely rooftop terrace. Excellent breakfast. Staff can't do enough to help from restaurant recommendations to arranging airport transfers. The Riad is next to Palais Bahia and is approximately 10 mins walk to the square. When I return to Marrakech I will definitely stay here.

Beautifully decorated, quiet, with huge bathtub. Close to the medina but very relaxing. No room safe but property seems very secure. Restaurants within a few minutes walk. Did not use rooftop terrace but also a nice space to relax. Tiny pool in lobby. Had a great massage (and I am picky).

I am really glad that I stayed in Riad one, it is the best decision I made in this trip, the customer service there is absolutely amazing, they treated me like a friend, tried to fulfil whatever request I made, as I went Marrakech alone without doing research, their help was really useful, they showed me to the restaurant around, they helped me book different tours last minute, they helped me book taxi, they constantly asked if I am okay. Love their breakfast, they remember my preference for tea after the first time I ordered it, very sweet and very caring customer service. I HIGHLY recommend Riad One to anyone.
