Me and my husband stayed in this Riad for the first half of our trip. We immediately felt at home as soon as we walked through the door, the staff could not be more friendly and accommodating. Especially Oussama who welcomed us and went above and beyond for our stay including getting up extra early to make us a light breakfast before our hot air balloon excursion. The area is in the heart of the Medina with a short walk to the souks and we felt safe walking back and fourth to our taxi pickup on a evening. We ate a evening meal at the Riad when we first arrived and it was a incredible, delicious traditional Moroccan dinner which was our first try of Moroccan food! The breakfasts were also gorgeous with a added bonus of the company of the Riad Cat and Kitten (Limona and Leo). We couldn’t fault this Riad especially after having a different experience at another towards the end of our trip. We will definitely be returning to this home away from home on our next trip!
Cons: Everything was perfect! Only personal silly requirement would be a full length mirror in the room to check outfits before leaving!

Tu as illuminé nos soirées.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The location is a bit tricky to find, but there’s paid parking nearby in Riyadh. We booked a small suite, and one of the best things is that they prepare breakfast whenever you wake up — no fixed time for breakfast, which is really nice. Honestly, I recommend this place

This was without a doubt the most beautiful place we have ever stayed. The riad is a peaceful oasis right in the heart of Marrakech, beautifully decorated and with the most wonderful team who immediately make you feel at home. Breakfast was a delight every single day, with different twists from Moroccan cuisine, always fresh, varied and beautifully presented. We also had lunch and dinner here, and every meal was perfectly prepared, full of flavor, and carefully served. What truly made this stay unforgettable was how welcome and supported we felt. We had a few unexpected problems (like another accommodation falling through and even losing something important), but the team helped us right away. From arranging taxis to finding solutions. Nothing was ever too much to ask, and they were there for us at any time of day. A very special thank you to Younnes, who showed us the best spots in Marrakech and was always there to help whenever we needed something. We also had many lovely chats and laughs with him. And to Oussama, thank you for serving the meals with such care and making every dinner special with your friendly conversations. We are also deeply grateful to Ilham, the chef, for the incredible food and for her warmth, she cooked with so much love, and no request was ever too much. And to Naima and Karima, thank you for keeping the riad so beautifully maintained and our room always perfectly clean and welcoming. The whole team works together so harmoniously and radiates so much warmth that we truly felt at home from the very first moment. Even the cats added an extra touch of coziness and joy.

I normally have no tendency towards sentimental exaggeration. But when I was sitting (having breakfast) under the fragrant orange tree in awesome Riad Emberiza Sahari, taking in the atmosphere, looking at the potted palmtree and the gorgeous white curtains, both swaying gently in the wind - I was believing that I was in heaven! Having travelled the world and stayed at the most marvellous accomodations I am now convinced that Riad Emberiza Sahari is in a class of its own. I have never experienced a warmer welcome. All the staff are just lovely. My room was not only very beautiful, tasteful and comfy, it gave me a feeling like it wanted to embrace me and gently rock me to the best sleep EVER at night. The furniture, the cosy bathroom with the fragrant shower gel, the cute white poufs, the fabulous lamps, the superb decoration.... I loved everything! Breakfast was splendid, its quality way above usual Moroccan breakfasts, and all my other breakfasts on my Morocco trips already were fantastic! When I told the lovely guy that THIS crêpe had been the best I had ever eaten, he came back in no time with the most affectionate smile to serve me a second crêpe! And this was only one of the many wonderful moments at the Riad. As I have been to Marrakesh several times it was not really my intention to visit again, I assumed. But when, after checkout, I asked if I could stay for 10 more minutes or so on the roof terrace and was told I could stay for ten hours or so I had already been sure for quite some time that I would visit Marrakesh again - simply to stay at Riad Emberiza Sahari again! A huge thank you and many hugs to all the lovely people working there for the happiness of their guests!

We had an amazing stay at Riad Emberiza! All the staff were so kind, especially for our little baby boy. They made our stay truly wonderful. The room was impeccable. The staff were all fantastic and would do anything and everything to try to make our stay enjoyable. One day I mentioned to the Manager, Youness, that it was my wife's birthday we returned from a visit to the excellent Alphais Spa (Hammam) and found a bouquet of roses in our room, and balloons and rose petals everywhere! The accommodation was very nice indeed (except for the fact that our suite did not have the private kitchen that was advertised - for which recompense was quickly agreed by Booking.com on our return). The rooftop terrace, with views of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains, was a great place to have breakfast and to sunbathe.
Cons: The Riad is adjacent to a mosque, which is very nice to look at from the rooftop terrace, but the calls to prayer are extremely loud. Until we arrived we hadn't realised that we had booked our stay during Ramadan, and we were awoken each morning at 4.10am by a 'call' for people to wake up and eat before sunrise (as Muslims are not allowed to eat during daylight hours during Ramadan). The loud 'call' lasted for 10 minutes and then (somewhat amazingly, we thought) was repeated at 5.10am, which seriously affected our sleep. Also during Ramadan, the only 'off license' in Marrakech was closed for the duration. Despite this, we managed to find some very good restaurants selling alcohol, mainly thanks to an internet blog from an English guy living in Marrakech.

The interior design style of the riad is amazing, it makes you feel in awe as soon as you step foot into it. The staff is nice and helpful, the manager gave us a map of the city and explained the main tourist attractions, helped us with extra blankets and shuttle service, and we also enjoyed Brahim’s service, very thoughtful and nice. He took care of the breakfast service, not only did he set up a very stylish table sitting, but also made sure we had everything we needed. The property is very clean, the room that we got was spacious, breakfast is tasty and they make it slightly different each morning, the tea is amazing. We stayed in this riad in the heart of the medina for three nights before heading to an all inclusive five star resort. I really wanted to experience a taste of the culture before heading off to the resort. On arrival we realised what culture shock actually meant. We have only visited European, American, Australian or at least very well developed areas in the world until now. We arrived about 10:30pm. The narrow streets were very busy filled with people, mopeds (no helmets and whole families on some of them), donkeys and carts, beggars, open food stalls. The owner of the riad had organised the taxi and met us when the taxi had reached the destination. He walked us through the winding, terracotta streets and helped us with bags. I personally was a bit scared when we first arrived in that taxi. Entering the riad from the madness of the streets was the most bizarre thing. It was so peaceful and beautiful..like a fairytale. The breakfast each morning was perfect and you can ask for requests like having omelettes a certain way etc. The staff are very helpful and friendly and eager to help you.
Cons: We liked pretty much everything. My only gripe (if you can call it that) is If asking the riad staff for a taxi to a location don’t be afraid to question them or haggle it down. We got some high quotes that we felt were just taking advantage of us being tourists - just as taxis on the streets tried- they were no different. Just FYI there is no iron in the bedroom but if you ask they will iron clothes for you There is also no wardrobe (in our room anyway) just a rail which was fine for us considering our short stay. The Riad is right beside a mosque so you will be woken up early each morning by prayer and it will go on intermittently through the day.

We stayed at the stunning Riad emberiza sahari. The location was so convenient, the peaceful and serene vibes in the riad were much needed. We loved the rustic decor, authentic yet modern. Communal areas such as the courtyard and terrace, perfect to wind down, read a book or just soak up the sun. The room was decorated with balloons on our arrival as we were celebrating a birthday. Yousef hosted us he was so helpful, gave us all the local intel and best places to visit. He ensured we were looked after from arranging transport to making sure we were always fed!Ilham made us the most delicious cookies which we also ordered to take back to the UK with us. Yousef and the team at the riad have a family like ethos, they really make you feel welcome and go the extra mile, the hospitality is second to none. We throughly enjoyed our stay, highly recommend!

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and cared for. Every detail of the riad is beautifully designed. Our room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The highlight of our stay was, without a doubt, the exceptional staff. They were attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. The location is ideal – close enough to explore the medina, yet tucked away enough to offer a tranquil escape from the busy streets. We enjoyed relaxing in the serene courtyard and on the rooftop terrace, which had stunning views of the city. The breakfast each morning was delicious, with fresh ingredients and a variety of options to start the day right.

I cannot recommend this riad highly enough. An absolute oasis of calm and slice of heaven. Not only is the riad extremely beautiful in the decor throughout, it’s very clean and has everything you need, it offers the most personalised and wonderful service. The team go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. Ahmed the driver was so kind driving us wherever needed and whenever we needed, Nabil, Youness and Omar were faultless always there to help and the chefs in the kitchen cook the most fresh and delicious meals. Breakfast was always the most amazing delight and if you wanted lunch or dinner it was all prepared freshly for you. The medina of Marrakesh is total madness so to escape into the kindness of the team within this riad is just perfect. I will definitely be returning and I’d 100% recommend.

The road was incredible! Super clean and quiet. As long as you write down on your notes and learn to pronounce the location of where your Riad is. All taxis and drivers from activities will be able to find you, pick you up and drop you back! The staff speaks English and French! Breakfast is great! And if you like cats there is a little family right around the corner! Omar and Younes were always there to help us! We even met the owner, a super nice and lovely French lady and we complimented her for how beautiful Emberiza is!
Cons: Nothing!!!! I am planning to stay again! I've stayed at 3 Riads and 2 hotels in the past 4 years and this has been my favourite! Also be very confident when walking at night, nobody will bother you or hurt you! Just don't be scared and i can honestly say the little streets of Marrakesh at 1am are safer than day time London!

The location is simply unbeatable, just a short walk from the city center and conveniently close to the taxi area, making trips to the medina and night market a breeze. The sense of safety throughout our stay was reassuring, which is especially important when traveling with children. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and attended to our every need with genuine warmth and hospitality. Breakfast each morning was a highlight—the best I’ve ever had in Marrakech, with a delicious variety of fresh, local flavours that set the perfect tone for our days of exploration. The Riad itself is nothing short of magical. The beauty of the architecture, combined with the serene atmosphere, created a peaceful retreat from the bustling city. The rooftop was a particular favorite spot for us, offering stunning views and a tranquil space to relax. Every corner of the Riad was impeccably clean, and the attention to detail was evident throughout. Traveling with my 17 and 11-year-old, I was thrilled to see how much they enjoyed the Riad as well. They were enchanted by its charm and appreciated the calm environment after our busy days in the city.
Cons: Beyond perfect I don’t think there is anything negative to say.

This is perhaps the most positive review I have ever written, and I do it with tremendous joy. This Riad was not only charming, comfortable, well-stocked, and strategically located, but the staff made this an experience we will tressure for years to come. They got us taxis, when we needed them, fetched us everything we needed with promptness and a smile always on their faces, they pampered us with delicious meals, and overall, where just a joy to be around – one night one of them whipped out a guitar and serenaded us with beautiful music. My partner got sick the last day and when I tell you they waited on us hand and foot, that is an understatement. They made him special food, including a heaven-sent chicken soup, and brought us everything we needed to the room. Accommodation The beds were comfortable, the AC was cold, the rooms large and well-lit, the bathrooms well-stocked, and despite the sort of old-school feel of buildings like these, everything was extremely clean. The pool in the center patio of the Riad was like the most inviting Oasis after a day out and about in 100 F heat. They have scented candles all over and the lemon and orange trees in the patio make the whole thing even more heavenly. Food The breakfast is plenty and delicious, including multiple courses, coffee and juice. We had dinner and lunch as well, but that is not included in the room rate. The desserts were to die for. When my partner was sick, they made him off-menu (very off-menu) dishes, that were just as delicious as everything else. The cook was so wonderful I gave her the biggest hug when I left. Location We were travelling with older, less mobile folks, so walking to and from the Riad (especially in the high temperatures of August) was not really something we did, though I know it was completely doable, especially to some of the best areas of the Medina (Jemma el Fna, Madersa Ben Youssef).
Cons: Everything was incredible.

I had an extraordinary time at the Riad Emberiza Sahari. Situated within the Medina, once you step through its doors, you're welcomed into an aesthetically pleasing environment we Africans fondly refer to as "vintage old money vibes." Its traditional Moroccan ambiance is truly breathtaking, and the customer service is unparalleled. The Riad Emberiza Sahari offers a perfect blend of privacy and warmth, making you feel both safe and part of a loving family. Special kudos to Omar, a talented young staff member whose guitar skills are as remarkable as his friendliness and helpfulness. Ilham, the chef, prepares the most delicious meals I've had in Morocco. Whatever meal you want, Ilham will do it. Nabil, the supervisor, is also a fantastic person, always ready to assist with a smile. I highly recommend this Riad to any guest in Morocco who wants to experience a quality stay with love and genuine friendship during their stay. A fun fact: As informed by the supervisor, I am honored to be the first Nigerian to stay at the Riad Emberiza Sahari. I love it!

Staying at Riad Emberiza Sehari was undoubtedly the best part of our trip to Marrakech. Nabil welcomed us into the beautiful courtyard and pool area upon our arrival and we immediately felt at ease and relaxed tucked away from the bustling streets outside. We sat down for refreshments and were given some invaluable tips, walking routes and food recommendations; Nabil’s the annotated map he gave us became our trusted guide for the trip and helped us navigate around the sometimes confusing and chaotic streets. Nothing was ever too much for the kindest team of staff we have ever stayed with, they were incredibly helpful and we were genuinely sad to say goodbye on our last day to such kind people. Youssef and Omar were always on hand to give insight and suggest excursions and rooftops; we really enjoyed all of their recommendations. Like the rest of the riad, the room was beautifully and tastefully decorated with both a modern traditional Moroccan feel. It was the perfect place to come back to after exploring sights in the city, offering a calm oasis which felt like home. A special mention to the sweet kittens Biscuit and Cookie who were never far away and were another highlight of our stay. The location was ideal, only a 15 minute walk from some great food spots and the Souks, longer if you want to head further down to the main square. We ate a freshly prepared breakfast each morning by the pool which was delicious, and also stayed for lunch before we left, which was the best traditional food we ate over the whole trip. We had a truly unforgettable stay and could not recommend this place enough - will definitely be returning in the not so far future!

We don’t write reviews really, but we couldn’t not do so for Riad Embezeria Sehari: we had the best holiday in Marrakech, due, in no small part, to this great place and the people who run it. We arrived from the airport, through the organised (?) chaos of the streets of the Medina, to a nondescript door in a wall. Nabil came to greet us and through a short hallway, we were presented with a cool, calm riad courtyard, with a beautiful orange and lemon tree framed pool, soft music and a wonderful spa like fragrance permeating. Nabil welcomed us with mint tea and took our luggage, and after a time, presented us with (what became) an invaluable map and carefully explained the main sights and some dos and don’ts. Nabil was on hand throughout our time in Marrakech to answer any questions and offer advice, as was Youssef, who is a great source of knowledge on the history of Morocco. After our tea, we were shown to our room, with a huge bed, air conditioning and decorated thoughtfully with detail and precision: The interior design of the whole riad is exceptional and represents the best of both traditional and modern Moroccan aesthetics. We ate a meal prepared by Ilham who, throughout our trip, would make carefully prepared snacks to go with any drinks we ordered. He showed passion and care for his art. Breakfast each day around the pool and under the trees included coffee or mint tea and a combination of fresh fruit, date cake, yoghurt, jams, Atlas Mountain honey, bread and omelette or soufflé, all lovingly prepared by Omaima and served by Omar. It was a joy to come back here each day and throughout our time here, we were encouraged to treat the Riad as our home. Nothing was too much bother and all the staff showed true intent to make our holiday the very best it could be.

Our stay at Riad Emberiza Sahari was exceptional. The riad itself was beautiful. The courtyard and the room were both serene & clean - coming in from the busy streets of the medina felt like we were walking into a spa. The breakfast was tasty and always beautifully presented - was great to try some traditional Moroccan breakfast foods. The location is very good - about 25/30 mins walk to the main square and about 20-30 mins walk to main attractions. It was nice to walk as you could see more of the old town. The new town is about 15/20 min walk away too. Taxis were always available pretty much right outside the riad. Every member of staff was incredibly helpful and kind. Youssef, Nabil and his team did everything they could to make our trip as smooth and relaxing as possible. They would help us out with best walking routes, helped us plan excursions, and helped us communicate with locals etc. I would 100% recommend this riad to everyone!

We stayed at Emberiza Sahari for 5 nights at the start of 2024. The riad is elegantly appointed, with a beautiful central open-air courtyard with a pool surrounded by orange and lemon trees. Rooms are comfortable and in Moroccan style, with spacious bathrooms; ours had seating outside overlooking the courtyard. There's a fabulous, large terrace one flight up with different levels and types of seating where you can watch spectacular sunsets while having drinks and listening to the call to prayer echo all over the city. Breakfasts are served in a pretty room that also doubles as a great place to hang out by a fire (when it's chilly at night) and play dominos. But the best part of this place is the staff--there is nothing they won't do. Yusef, the owner/manager, sat us down with mint tea and cookies when we arrived and gave us the lay of the land. Some of the things he and his staff arranged: a day trip to the Atlas Mountains and a hike to a beautiful waterfall; a half-day tour of the medina, with various stops and a nice orienting walk through one of the souks; arranged dinners on three of the nights (the cook is great and the cost is super reasonable--20 euros each for two courses and 20 euros for a bottle of Moroccan wine); and plentiful advice about everything. We had brought a bottle of wine from Paris and they chilled it for us for dinner. Thereafter we bought bottles of wine at the large Carrefour in the big mall area (we asked our driver on the Atlas Mountain tour to stop there on the way back) and these were chilled too. Breakfasts were delectable--starting with tea or coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, crepes, bread with nice jams and butter, fruit cups, and yogurt cups, then usually crepes and eggs added.
Cons: Continued POSITIVE comments and tips (give more room, Booking.com!): One concern we had about Marrakech was with the tap water, which is not suitable to drink unless you want the "tourista" to ruin your stay. That means washed vegetables and fruits are off limits. But the riad uses a water filtration system for all its food prep, so there was never any concern. Tip #1: have the riad arrange a driver to meet you at the airport. The riad is inside a tangle of streets and you are dropped off about a block away in a sort of small parking area, and the driver (or someone in the riad) comes to show you the way to the riad. Tip #2: Just outside the riad there are a couple of small convenience stores (you don't go inside--they are more of less window stores) but you can get bottled water, soda, snack, etc. there. Tip #3: We loved the food at the riad but for variety try the Italian/Moroccan place about a 5-7 minutes walk called Limoni Cafe--open-air dining in orange trees, great, reasonably priced food (including authentic Italian--the owner is from Italy--when you get tired of tagine), and--don't believe the reviews--yes, wine or drinks. Tip #4: Google maps (walking mode) worked really well for us to get to major attractions; we walked about 40 minutes to the Majorelle Gardens without a problem, and also to the Saadian Tombs, Jemaa el-Fnaa square (please don't encourage the animal tourism--the monkeys are caught far up in the mountains and they suffer tremendously in the heat and are mistreated), Bahia Palace, etc. Tip #5: Ask Yusef how to take cabs. Tip #6: tip 10-15 euros per day at the end--it's divided among the staff. Final tip: this is not a Hilton hotel experience; go with the Marrakech flow, don't get picky about small things like a squeaky shower tap, and you'll have a great experience. In all, this stay was superb and we couldn't have been happier with the riad, Yusef, the staff, the food, the whole experience there.

The riad and the staff were absolutely exceptional in every way. The riad is beautiful with a nice pool and dinning room on the ground floor with rooms above and a roof terrace. The property is beautifully appointed and the rooftop is an incredible location for sunset watching. The rooms are stunning in decor and super comfortable, and the bathrooms luxurious. The breakfast is deliciously fresh and satisfying - a beautiful spread to get the day started. Most importantly, the service is the absolute best. We received outstanding personal attention, suggestions and support for our outings. Every member of the entire staff of the Riad are special. Youssef, Hamid and Mouaad were wonderfully attentive and friendly- we were well taken care of at all times.

The riad was so beautiful, stylish & peaceful. Our room was big & gorgeous. The pool area is stunning & hard to leave. Youssef, Mo & staff were fabulous. Always so helpful & organised some great tours like the desert dinner & old city history tour. The food at the riad was amazing & is a must & to enjoy it at the riad is the most lovely experience. We loved experiencing Marrakech but it always felt special returning to the riad - to our haven. A very big thanks to the staff for their hospitality - it was a fabulous start to our Moroccan trip.

Upon arrival we were greeted to delicious food and drinks following a long journey and the staff truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The riad itself is beautiful - a true hidden gem off of the busy medina streets - and it was simply an incredible place to relax and unwind. The rooftop terrace is stunning, with views across the rooftops around. The room was beautifully cleaned and everything was spotless. The bed was very comfy and we felt right at home. Thank you so much to Nabil and the entire team. We truly felt so very lucky and can’t wait to return soon!

From the moment I entered Riad Emberiza Sahari, I was made to feel comfortable, relaxed, and at home in this newly renovated, spotlessly clean, and super stylish "house". The staff couldn't have been more professional, caring, or attentive to any need. The entrance and ground floor has a feature central pool surrounded by sunloungers, and a few dining tables underneath verdant lemon and orange trees. There's a stunning high ceilinged dining area, decorated with traditional pottery and crafts, with comfortable seating and fireplace for chilly evenings. The bedrooms are situated on the floor above, and the stylish interiors continue, with use of traditional features in lighting, bathroom fittings and textiles. My bed was really comfortable, with crisp new linen. It was blissfully quiet, and I slept really well. Outside was a balcony area with seating. I loved the next floor - two roof terraces with far reaching views above the rooftops of the medina, and beyond to the Atlas Mountains. One terrace is furnished with tables and seating, the other with relaxed sofas under shade. It's the perfect spot for watching the sun rise and set, and I enjoyed starting my day there with yoga before breakfast. I had dinner on both evenings, and this was THE most delicious food I've ever tasted in Marrakech. I can highly recommend every dish prepared exquisitely by Ihlam. Her breakfasts too, were an incredible selection of dishes, including fresh fruits, juice, yoghurt /fruit, pancakes, pastries, eggs and bread. I felt so relaxed at Riad Emberiza and wish I could have stayed much longer. The location was perfect for visiting the Majorelle Gardens and Yves St Laurent's museum- just 20 minute's walk
Cons: Only one thing was a little unexpected - the shower - of local, traditional design, which was overly erratic with it's direction of spray, and rather too much went outside the shower area

EVERYTHING!!!!! Beautiful, clean!! The design, the decorating, the thoughtfulness, all of it was amazing!!!! So amazing, I decided to go home and decorate my home Moroccan inspired. The food was DIVINE!! Every single meal was different. The first evening after we arrived, Youssef and staff greeted us with opens arms after a very long 2 days of travel. Everything was authentic. The tea, the freshly squeezed orange juice, and they prepared dinner for us knowing we would be arriving late!! On top of that, Ahmed waited for us at the airport as we arrived and went through customs. After the first evening, we were hooked on the dinner that even though we could explore and try other restaurants, we decided for every dinner, we would stay in and kindly ask the staff to prepare our evening meal. The attentive manner is beyond me. It’s been so wonderful. Truly a hidden oasis. Youssef took us on a private tour through the souk, the gardens and the Medina that we felt enriched in the culture. Everyone has been so kind. The whole staff at the Riad has been absolutely amazing. So kind and generous, with great recommendations, and I still can’t get over the food! The women are amazing chefs!! Thank you for one of the most incredible stays we’ve ever experienced!!

The breakfast was incredible - a mix of fresh fruit that melted in your mouth, fresh baked breads and sweets, yoghurts, eggs (one day with veggies and one with meat) and amazing coffee and juices! Served in the decadent square!
Cons: It was an oasis and the hospitality was incredible - exceeded every expectation. The walking tour was a bit pricey and rushed - and felt like we were being taken to stores to make purchases but understand and did not feel pressured.

The property is a historical riad, located in the old Medina. It was our tranquil escape from a day walking in the souk. The decoration is exquisite, the breakfast a delight, with out of this world presentation. A great summary of this Riad is: « attention to details » and a warm welcome. While this riad is beautiful in itself, the amazing staff, including the cook and the major d’hommes Abdu and Omar, made our stay unforgettable. This is really the combination of the place, the decor and most importantly the warm welcome and care we have received, to understand our location and what places we could visit.
Cons: Really nothing at all. Everything was just perfect.

The riad is stunning, I couldn’t stop taking pictures of it. Nice tasty breakfast with fresh fruit but it’s the same every day so if you’re staying for long you might get bored. Also we had dinner once and I can definitely say that it was the best lamb tagine I’ve had in Morocco! Everything was super clean and very beautiful. The staff is polite and helpful. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to everyone!

a great escape from the busy streets, it was so peaceful and calm the moment you walked through the door. The breakfast was superb and all the staff were very helpful, with some great recommendations
Cons: although there was no issue when we were there as it felt very safe and the Riad itself was locked at all times we didn’t have a lock on our door. This felt uncomfortable to start with however it also was quite nice not having to think about it. The room did have a safe so that helped alot too

Very beautiful Riad. Calm, quiet, cool, clean. Orange trees, comfortable relaxing seating, an abundance of mint tea and Moroccan sweet biscuits. Really quite palatial and exotic. Felt very safe. The plunge pool was fab and the roof garden was lovely to sit and watch the swifts swirling as the sun set. Views of the Atlas mountains and desert lovely. Very helpful and friendly staff who organised a lot for us whilst we were there. Rooms had AC, great showers etc. Delicious big breakfasts. We had a few evening meals which were lovely and the setting beneath the orange trees is stunning. Great location within the walls of the old city, easy to walk everywhere. Definitely recommend and would return in a flash 💚

We loved staying at this beautiful riad located within the medina but in a quieter less touristy area. It was such an oasis of calm, quiet, and beauty with the heavenly scent of the orange blossom. The staff were warm, friendly and very polite and willing to help with anything. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. We had an evening meal the first night which we highly recommend as the tagines were delicious, the best we ate, and we had the place to ourselves with the courtyard lit with candles. Everything was beautifully and thoughtfully done and we highly recommend this riad if you are coming to Marrakech.
Cons: One evening was a little noisy after we'd gone to bed as we had the room by the pool.

All the staff at Riad Emberiza were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. We had friends staying in a nearby hotel who joined us for supper, and they like us were delighted with the delicious three course meal. Customer service from all members of staff was uniformly first-class, which implies that the team is well led and trained. Our friends were very envious of the well hidden beautiful riad that we were lucky enough to have stumbled upon. We certainly hope to return on our next visit to Marrakesh.

I have stayed in a few, and all I can say is this Riad is something special : architecturally, imposing with its colonnades, glorious patio with pool, orange trees and fountains. Beautiful terraces with stunning views. Superbly decorated down to each individual room with their own signature names and their own decor. The staff were superb, catering for every wish and extremely attentive. Always with a smile on their face. Thank you Omar, Wafa and Abdu. The area is also fascinating: It is Authentic Medina where Moroccans still reside next to the famous mosque built for the patron saint of Marrakech, Sidi Bel Abbess. The Riad is ideally located 15 minutes walk to the new city and Jardin Majorelle and 15 minutes walk to the heartland of the Medina and the souks. I cannot recommend it more highly.
Cons: Nothing it was exceptional!

The Riad is particularly well situated and a short walk into the Medina. The staff are very warm, welcoming and are more than keen to accommodate your every need. Emberiza Sahari is pleasantly decorated and most comfortable. I you want an authentic stay close to the city centre this is the place to go. Food was great, service was excellent
Cons: The place felt a bit run down. The shower would run out of hot water within 5-10 minutes, the finishings were old and worn, it just didn't feelt like the incredible place that a 9.7/10 rating (and price to match it) would have been. It was also located a bit far from the center of town. The doors to our room were especially strange, they didn't lock and had partially-frosted glass that could have allowed someone to see into our room at night if they stood in the right place.

It’s a wonderful property. The best thing is the decor, especially the beautiful patio in the middle - it’s just like the pictures or maybe even better. They always played nice piano jazzy music in the patio which gives it a nice vibe. Beds are big and very comfortable. Also it’s very quiet inside the riad, which we loved. The staff was really great! Very nice and smiling all the time.
Cons: There was no locks on the doors. The staff assures that it’s safe and yet nothing happened - you never know and can never be sure with other tourists staying at the riad. We wished also there were curtains on the windows, especially in the bathroom, but also in the room if you’re a person who likes it pitch black at night. The location, even though it’s in the old Medina, it’s not a premium location. It’s far from main attractions and at night it seems sketch.

The riad courtyard is really beautiful but the surrounding streets are not very clean. The room is designed to look nice. However, the water for the shower was not very hot, the tap for the sink was dripping and the carpet not very clean with hair and fluff on it. The absolute worst thing was the CRAZY amount of noise from the mosque every day at 6.30!am. We have lived in Dubai so used to that. But this is on a whole other level. The man seems to be screaming for a very long time. We had little sleep during our stay due to noise from the area and the early call to prayer. The main reason for the low rating here. The Moroccan staff are lovely and very helpful but they do keep trying to sell airport transfers, half day tour (without telling us the cost we were forced into this as we were told you cannot possibly manage the Medina without a guide- not true). We were later charged €60 fir a half day tour. A shame. Not about the money but the lack of transparency and pressure put on us just after we have arrived after a long journey, feeling super tired. We certainly won’t stay there as the noise was unbearable but because of these practices. We did receive a bottle of wine for our 50th birthday which was very thoughtful so want to say Thank you! Hope in future can inform guests prior yo arrival about the noise and not be pushy to sell overpriced services.

Omar, Wafa, and Abdul are amazing! The riad itself is beautiful and beautifully maintained, but the people who care for it and its guests are incredible! Wafa's meals were absolutely delicious – sumptuous tagines and an incredible couscous meal! I'd love to take a cooking class from her! She is so sweet and kind, and she suggested and then helped us make additional tour arrangements, including our wonderful hamaam experience. Abdul met us on our arrival, prepared our early breakfasts, served us our meals, and even brought us our final glass of mint tea before our departure. He is thorough, thoughtful, and kind, and his smile is infectious! And finally, Omar ensured that every detail of our travel experience was executed perfectly, from our room, to walking tours and directions to Marrakech sights; he booked our taxis, ensured our tour guides arrived on time, served us our meals and helped us choose delicious Moroccan wines; there was no detail too small for his discerning and professional eye. His thoughtful consideration ensured that our trip went smoothly! Our stay at Riad Emberiza Sahari was wonderful.

Riad was beautiful and really calming to stay in. Eating breakfast / dinner in the evening on the terrace was lovely. This might not be so nice in cold weather, although there were outdoor heaters. The food was good and the property itself is well kept. The staff are friendly and very helpful. They provide you with a list of some of the main attractions and show you where these are on the map, but equally you can make your own plans. The room was a little cosy for 2 friends, but would be excellent if you were a couple. The only downside of the room was that there were no curtains (frosted windows) which means you will get light in the room in the morning. Also as the Riad is next to a mosque you will hear the call to prayer very early morning. Otherwise, the stay was very good and the property a peaceful sanctuary from the mayhem of the city,

Beautiful Riad! The owner is Australian so it has all the comforts expected by Westerners as well as the charm and warmth of the local Marrakech people. The rooftop terrace is great. We ate dinner there and it was our favorite meal in all of Morocco. Breakfast was huge and eggs cooked to order. Our room, Olivia, was lovely, big and comfortable. Only con is the WiFi strength at times. Otherwise, it is a superb choice in Marrakech. Much better than a big, impersonal hotel.

Our stay at the Riad Emberiza Sahari was a very pleasant experience. Alexandra (owner) and the staff were nothing short of fantastic. We easily saved a few hours at local tourist stops with her sharing tips on where to get tickets/how to avoid lines. Complimentary breakfast that came with your stay was great, comprised of made to order eggs, along with an assortment of fresh squeezed juices, coffee, tea, multiple breads, fruit salads, and yogurts. The entire staff was extremely pleasant. They have a very nice rooftop to unwind after a day walking through the city, with drinks made to order if that is of interest to you. The level of cleanliness inside the riad (rooms, rooftop terrace, communal spaces were all top notch.) Information that may be worth noting: The rooms do not come with locks and padlocks must be requested upon arrival. With that said, it should be noted padlocks were quickly provided upon request and we had absolutely zero issues all week. Security guards and multiple doors needing keys/entry permissions prevent any unwanted outsiders from venturing into the riad. The internet was a tad on the slower side. Safety deposit boxes were not bolted down in the rooms and rooms did not come with TVs. The area immediately surrounding the riad is a bit tougher than you would like (not much they can control). You must walk a block to get a cab With all of this said, we had a lovely stay and would definitely return.

This Riad is an oasis in the frenetic city of Marrakech. The property has been stylized in a really tasteful manner. The rooms are serviced daily and spotless. The breakfast is in the courtyard, with the smell of orange blossoms and the water feature flowing. There is a chef should you chose to have dinner in. There wasn’t any request, I.e. tours, that wasn’t handled. Julienne was the manager while i was there. She would check each morning to see if dinner plans/reservations were needed. I stayed eight days and didn’t want to leave. I doubt there is a finer Riad in the city.

Hidden in a quiet street within the Médina. An oasis and an escape from the chaos outside. Lovely courtyard with pool and orange and lemon trees. Rooms well appointed with most amenities. Gorgeous terrace roof. Staff is there to meet your every need and they have exceeded expectations. After traveling to other parts of the country, I have to say this tops them all.

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful Riad recently for five nights. The Riad is located in a great location - an easy walk into the center of the Medina, but on a quieter street. We stayed in the Isadora room and it was beautiful. The bathroom was spacious and the entire place was spotless. Alexandra was a great hostess, helping us each day plan what to do and tips for getting around the city. It truly felt like you were staying at a close friend's home, as you were greeted at the door each time you arrived. Because it is a small Riad (only 6 rooms), it has the feel of a house so you will hear the breakfast being set up in the morning and dinner being cleaned up at night in the courtyard. But to me that adds to the feeling of staying at house rather than a generic hotel. Highly recommend booking dinner at the Riad on your first night also. There is a beautiful room terrace with plenty of space also to enjoy the sunrise or sunset. Can't recommend this place highly enough!

We stayed at the Riad for 4 nights in early November 2018. Positives The property itself is lovely inside, with the terrace in particular being very nice. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They were always available to help us out whenever we needed it whether to get a taxi or to make reservations at restaurants or other attractions. Overall we had a wonderful stay Negative WiFi was a bit spotty in room but fine in public areas The surrounding area was undergoing a lot of construction and the approach to the Riad had been dug up. They seemed to be working quickly and I’m sure the work will be done soon. Calls to prayer - more a feature of the city than with this property, the Médina has many mosques, you will hear calls to prayer. They may wake you up at dawn. If this is not desirable earplugs would be useful.

We stayed for 2 nights in this riad and it was a very good experience! When we first arrived, Alexandra (the host) welcomed us with mint tea & delicious Moroccan pastries, and gave us a thoughtful and comprehensive introduction to Marrakech. The staff are very friendly and helpful too. The riad looks beautiful as well and the room is very clean! Breakfast was provided and there was good variety. The wifi signal, however, was weak in our room but Alexandra says that they are working on it currently. Also, although we believe that the riad is safe, some guests may prefer to have the option of being able to lock their rooms. Despite these, we had an amazing time here and we would definitely recommend this place to any traveller!

We were greeted by the owner Alexandra with such warmth and wisdom and with a thorough download of the highlights and mores and terrific advice for our stay at both the Riad and our time in Marrakesh. She and her staff were diligent and attentive and present for any question or concern. We shall DEFINITELY come back to this Riad and without a doubt make sure anyone we know traveling to Marrakesh stays here. Top notch. And GORGEOUS.

We stayed 3 nights at the Riad Emberiza Sahari. Alexandra and her team were excellent. They made a wonderful 3 course dinner on our late evening arrival. The included breakfast is incredible. The rooms are nice, the courtyard is beautiful and Alexandra is very helpful in setting you up to experience Marrakech to your schedule and interests.

We loved our recent stay at Riad Emberiza Sahari! Alexandra was a wonderful host and a wealth of knowledge with many great recommendations of things to see, do, sites to visit, restaurants, day excursions, etc. The Riad was recently restored and is beyond charming with a pool in the courtyard (unfortunately it was too cold for us to go in in January!) Don't miss the sunset from the roof terrace as well. The staff were lovely and we looked forward to breakfast each morning. We did not eat dinner in the Riad but have heard from many visitors, this is the best way to experience Moroccan cuisine, so would recommend lining that up one night ahead of time! We hope to go back soon and stay again!

The comfort and tranquility of this riad are as unique as the personal service and hospitality provided by the host, Alexandra. Not only did she see to our every comfort in the riad but she gave us invaluable advice and tips on how to make the very best of our stay in Marrakesh. This riad itself has been beautifully and thoughtfully restored, with so much attention given to small details. The restful courtyard with the orange trees overhanging the pool, the open fire in the salon and the quality of the beds soothed any tired minds, bodies and souls after long days on our feet. It was a sheer joy to return there at the end of each day and to wake up to again in the mornings. I really couldn't give this riad a higher recommendation. In fact, I would just say Book it! And book at least one dinner there too!

Had five days in this excellent Riad to get a little sun and escape from London for a while. Marrakech resembles a film set and the Riad a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Easy to organise a trek in the Atlas mountains for a day.
