Very welcoming host and the riad is so close to the Medina. The pool on the rooftop is also perfect to relax with on a hot sunny day. Breakfast is also served fresh every morning. Had an amazong time. Thank you so much Hassan. I had a wonderful stay in Riad Hasna

The staff was super friendly and attentive. The property is beautiful and well situated. One thing to note is that the riad cannot be accessed by car, so there is about a 5 min walk from where a car can pick/drop off.

The spa area was small, but had an excellent treatment and would recommend trying it. The room was very large and clean and had a very comfortable feel to it. All these Riads are down long alleys and you need help finding them but after you find them, it’s all good.

Lovely modern yet traditional hotel, with great staff and in a good location. Room was large, pool was nice and deep, breakfast was great and you can even have a traditional Moroccan hamam and massage. Easy walking distance to most everywhere in old town. Noisy neighbour finishes by 11pm-ish and very quiet generally. Very nice place.

We absolutely loved this place and their amazing staff. Though it was down a lane way, we never felt unsafe. The local area is bustling with activity, close to the Souks. We found a fabulous rooftop bar close by, El Fenn! Breakfast was good and the rooftop area is wonderful. Our room was spacious and quiet!

Riad Hasna Espi, was a perfect fit for our 4 day vacation, the property is rather old but is very charming as were the staff/family who owned the property. We were not able to use the pool as unfortunately the weather was not ideal. Breakfast was great, best orange juice we’ve ever tasted, along with the crepes, pastries & breads it was more than adequate for the start off day! The riad was very closes to the souks, palaces & gardens in fact we only need a taxi for the airport, as everything we wished to visit was within walking distance. Would highly recommend, but if you’re looking for ultra modern this won’t be for you, but for us it was excellent! If you do choose this riad we would highly recommend the Kabana rooftop bar for drinks & food in fact it was so great we went there every night for eats! It’s literally less than five minutes away from the Riad, it does get very popular so would go online & book a table in advance!

Rachida and the staff were amazing at the Riad, they couldn’t do enough for us. The hospitality was next level and we were escorted to a fantastic restaurant - Riad Palais Sabban - where we were treated to fantastic authentic Moroccan cuisine. Very well located for access to the main tourist attractions such as the Medina, Souks, Jemaa el-Fnaa and the Koutoubia mosque. Plenty of petite taxis around to explore other parts of the city and hundreds of amazing rooftop bars and restaurants to explore. Ace trip, really enjoyed it and I got my marathon PB which is the main reason we were there for 😊

You could not find a better or more accommodating staff. We checked in extremely early for our reservation and not only were they gracious enough to allow us to check into our room early, but they also provided us a breakfast in the morning we checked in as well as the morning we checked out. The property is immaculate and everything is maintained perfectly. It is a very quiet location and you cannot hear any sounds from the other rooms on the property. It has a stunning rooftop balcony with a pool and the daily breakfast is generous - pastry, pancakes, juice, coffee and tea and a vast selection of jams and syrup and butter.

What a wonderful stay! We had a bit of a rough start because the pin that indicates the address on Google maps is not where the hotel is located. After a few calls to the hotel and the help of a local barber Maoad (who provides haircuts and shaves for men and eyebrow trim for women) they were able to find where we were and met us in the shopping square to guide us back to the hotel. Once at the hotel, we were greeted with a lovely tea and cookie reception and then led to our room. If you book room seven, which is the one bedroom suite on the third floor (all stairs, just FYI.) You have the entire Third floor and rooftop to yourself during off hours when no other guests are visiting the rooftop or the pool. It is a lovely place to watch the sun rise and set. and you have quite a bit of privacy there for obvious reasons since there are no other guests staying on that level. Absolutely amazing shower with plenty of hot water and also a separate tub. The hospitality was wonderful as was the breakfast in the morning that was provided by the hotel. 5 stars all the way!

The property is very hard to find, especially if you are new to the Medina area and its streets. This isn't helped at all by the fact the map "pin" that is sent with the booking confirmation in Expedia is nowhere near it. Use Google Maps to locate it instead. Once inside the hotel is clean and, although eccentrically decorated, it feels authentic. Our room on the top of the riad was spacious but a bit lacking in that premium experience. TV didn't work (batteries in remote were dead), no mini fridge to keep drinks/water cool. There was also an annoying issue with pigeons congregating on roof of the room and scratching and cooing from first light. The rooftop terrace is nice but small and the few sun loungers that get sun in the afternoon are at a premium. The pool is tiny and in shade..it was also absolutely freezing in December and unusable. There is no 'service' to speak of. The staff were friendly but had poor English and, went missing and we struggled to get any food or drink to the rooftop. It's not a full service experience by any stretch. Breakfast was pleasant but basic. I am sure that the budget reflects the experience so this is more about managing expectations than anything. It's ideal to be in the Medina in a quiet side street, easy walking distance to the souks and the dining options both inside and outside the Medina. Comes down to a choice, I expect, between convenience, authenticity and a more high-end hotel

My wife and I had a wonderful 4 night stay here. Rachida, Rachid and Hassan could not do enough for us and we indulged in a Massam and massage while we were there. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was delightful and the terrace had a plunge pool which was definitely required after a day in the souks. Despite being 5 minutes walk from Jemma El-Fnaa the Riad was so quiet at night. The Riad organised our taxi to/from the airport, which I would highly recommend. If we visit Marrakesh again we will definitely stay here.

We had an absolutely amazing 4-night stay at Riad Hasna Espi & Spa! First of all, the location in the Medina was fantastic! Literally a 2-minute walk to the cultural center of the walled city of Marrakech. Locating the Riad however was a bit challenging, and if it wasn't for the help of some passer-bys we likely would not have found it so quickly as GPS absolutely is unreliable within the Medina. But apart from that, the staff greeted us warmly with mint tea & cookies and we had a nice little chat and a relaxing start to our stay. Our apartment was well appointed and very clean. Very spacious and comfortable. We were in the Koutoubia Room on the top floor. Breakfast was served everyday by very doting staff members and it was delicious with crepes, jellies & jams, sweet breads, and fantastic orange juice and coffee. The star of this Riad is the location close to the Medina and the absolutely fantastic roof top terrace complete with plenty of shade structures and a very nice pool that we used in the evenings after a hot day of exploring the old city. Also, there are many dining options in the area around the Riad that are consistently delicious and very inexpensive. The central Mosque of Marrakech, Koutoubia, is a very short walk away as are transportation options. We really enjoyed this experience and would absolutely not hesitate to recommend it highly. Fantastic stay!

This place overbooks rooms and then cancels last minute. We booked Two rooms in this hotel 5 months in advance - then two weeks before we were due to travel they cancelled both rooms, leaving us no reason or alternative. When we phoned they acted as though they couldn’t speak English despite communicated clearly on the booking before that. Don’t trust a booking with this place.

Five star service upon arrival! We booked the shuttle through the Riad and was welcomed by the bellboy to direct us through the maze of alleys to the Riad. Upon entry to the Riad, we were given mint tea and pastries on the house before a tour of the place and to our room. The staff were super friendly and helpful during our stay, recommending restaurants for us as well as calling some in advance to check if they had spaces available. Breakfast was lovely but is pretty much the same thing daily so can get a bit boring if you are staying a long time, but was perfect for us over a long weekend trip.

The Riad is adorable. It is located in a small alley, and the GPS coordinates were wrong in the mapping service we downloaded. That made getting there a bit confusing until we had the route down. The people were delightful and did a great job making our stay pleasant. They did go out of their way to serve us breakfast early on days we had to get out before normal. Breakfasts are standard Continental. This means juice, a fruit cocktail, pastries and coffee. Nice, but not going to set you up for the whole day. Overall, quite pleased with the stay.

We stayed at the Riad Hasna for 3 days. It was the best place we could have possibly picked to stay and my friend and I were treated like absolute princesses. The staff are the most helpful people you will meet in Morocco and went above and beyond to help us figure our way to the next destination. The rooftop is a stunning place to eat a chicken tagine whilst watching the sunset. We asked for a transfer to the Riad as it would have been very difficult to find the way on your own. Will definitely choose to stay here again.

This riad was great! the terrace was absolutely beautiful and our room was as well! The staff were all wonderful. Breakfast every morning was delicious! I wish we had a chance to enjoy dinner here as well. It is a short walk from the main square, although it is confusing to find initially! But the staff came to meet us when we first arrived. The only downside is that the bathroom had a musty smell possibly from the rug but overall I’d definitely recommend this place if you’re in Marrakech!

Pros: Great internet. Very pleasant service. Huge room. Pool and quiet roof area to overlook parts of the city. Very quiet. A place to rest, work or study. Very close to Marrakech square. Cons: one piece of info mis quoted in EURO instead of Durham. It cost me time and money to get the right quote. They need more signs. The narrow path ways ( topical of all Riads) would have been less intimidating if signs were clearly placed to assure you you are going to the right place. Disneyland was shooting film footage. The area is authentic. It was a great stay. I would recommend it.

The riad is located a few minutes from the souk of Marrakesh. Our room on the second floor was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom has seen better days but had plenty of fluffy towels and bathrobes. The terrace is tranquile and has a small pool to cool down. I was surprised because the pictures on this website have a photoshopped blue sky, it looks much nicer in reality! The team running the riad are hospitable and attentive. Will definitely go back.

We had a bedroom for 3 people with one very large and comfortable double bed and a smallish single. Some people may feel the place needs to be refurbished but we liked the character. There is a very nice terrace with a tiny pool to freshen up. As other people commented breakfast could be better and would improve the overall experience significantly. The service is excellent with friendly employees that are always smiling. Location is very convenient. Be aware it is 5 min inside the Médina so a taxi won’t be able to take you to the front door.

I've made a proper map of how to find this gem of a riad (the one on its own website is rubbish) without getting lost in the souks nearby. Mind you it is fun to lose yourself in the markets. We had four excellent nights here. Our room was huge and beautiful; breakfast on the roof terrace a treat; and the location in the Medina is exciting. I hugely recommend this riad (a grand house converted to a boutique guest house) in Marrakesh's old quarter.

I was meet at the airport, by the Riad's shuttle taxi. Hasna Espi is located central to both the Souks and Djemaa el-Fna. A simple stroll of 3 minutes, in either direction, and you are in admist the start of your journey and exploration. Despite being convenient and central to both these reknowed locations, it is an oasis of calm and tranquility, the cacophony and sounds are left behind! The Team were amazing, as I was, without exception, greeted by a broad and welcoming smile. The roof terrace was most certainly welcome, with the views exceptional. But, again, even here it was calm and tranquil! The room was both comfortable and accommodating. The bathroom was spacious. Both had windows overlooking the courtyard. Their customer care and service was exceptional and my needs and expectationas were exceeded on every occasion. I will use the Riad again.

We stayed in this Riad for 3 nights. The staff were really friendly and always helpful. The breakfast was lovely and was served on the roof top each morning and this was perfect. The terrace was a perfect spot to enjoy the sunshine in the peace and quiet away from the hussle and bustle of the streets below. The pool looked inviting however it was not heated, whilst I managed to get into it twice it was really cold. With regard to its location this is probably its greatest strength and weakness. It is located right in the centre of the action and is ideal for exploring the souks and the marketplace, however, to access the hotel you have to walk through quite an extensive network of alleyways which we found intimidating at night hence we always aimed to get back before 9pm. This was a bit limiting. Also on the day we arrived we couldn't find the hotel (the signage was simply a tiny stencil on the alley walls at intervals you would notice this until it was pointed out) walking aimlessly with luggage left us wide open to be targeted by the local hustlers. Eventually one of them offered to show us where to go, whilst we were reluctant we had little choice but to accept. He did bring to to the Riad but then expected to be paid at this stage we didn't have any small change suitable for tipping. When we tried to explain he got very aggressive and annoyed. Our room was clean and comfortable but it did not have a proper shower, just the attachment to the bath. (See photo) We got a twin bedded room which we requested and the beds were comfortable. There was a complimentary bottle of water for us on arrival and the room had a television. It also had a safe but this didn't work. there was no sunlight to the room so it was quite cold. There was a stairs up to a little balcony but it was locked and screened off (see photo) We didn't see a restaurant, one day we wanted to order some lunch but we were told that we would need to order food a day in advance. The lady on reception, who was delightful, offered to make up a salad for us as we had just arrived but we declined as we wanted something more substantial. I would not rate this as a 5 star hotel based on the facilities which were actually available, but its proximity to the souks and the market place was a bonus and saved us from the daily haggle with taxis. I wouldn't feel safe walking through the alley on my own but if you have mixed company this wouldn't be an issue once you have actually found it in the first place.

We were welcomed by being told we don't have a reservation, the balconies have no form of locks, when we mentioned this-we were told there is no key, and that we are safe and shouldn't worry. It is quite easy for a person to jump from one balcony to the next. The breakfast was awful and the exact same every single day for the 7 days we were there! Most of the staff were pleasant, and it would be unfair to say otherwise however the shower head wouldn't actually stick to the wall, and when we told them they tried changing the conversation to they'll clean our room Instead, and so for the whole stay even showering was unpleasant. There wasn't even an ironing board, and whilst pregnant I had to lean over a bed to iron my clothes after having to go down two staircases to reception and ask to borrow the iron. The pool was not heated, there was no option to have breakfast in rooms or inside-despite it saying so on their own website. The raid needs a real renovation and needs to stop burying their head in the sand with issues that guests politely point out. Considering the money we paid for this trip we were left very disappointed. I'm not the type to normally leave reviews, but we wish we had known what we were getting ourselves into.

Stayed in 2 different rooms here and both were well maintained and properly clean. Comfort levels obviously vary according to the price you're paying. A shower curtain or screen would be a huge advantage. Very helpful manageress and friendly staff although, in the absence of the manageress, communication proved difficult in French. Good breakfast (quality & quantity) served on the roof terrace and willingly served in the bedroom, early to fit in with flight. Very happy to recommend this place - just make a careful note of how to find it because the taxi driver had no idea!

A bit out of the way, but well maintained and good overall cleanliness. Good quality & plentiful breakfast. Staff all friendly and manageress very helpful, but, when not present, struggled to communicate with other staff even in French.

Heard a few mixed reviews before we left but couldn't have been happier. Staff were ever so friendly, even bringing breakfast to the room on the final morning as we had to leave before breakfast started. Great service and in a lovely (much needed) quiet area next to the Medina.

A treat for the eyes when you arrive out of the alleyways of Marrakech into a beautiful friendly Riad. On arrival we were provided with mint tea and cake which was so welcome after such a long journey. So quiet at night with fantastic staff who cannot do enough to help you during your stay. Breakfast was freshly prepared and served on the lovely roof terrace. Only downside was the plumbing was a little old, but saying this the room was clean and of a good size - I would recommend this Riad and plan to return again. A great experience.

I'm going to give a detailed description of how to locate this Riad at the end of my review. The location is really superb, a short distance from so many attractions including the main square. You can also reach it through the back streets of the souk, for a change of scene. Positives, our room was just charming and the staff were very accommodating. The terrace is gorgeous with a lovely small pool. Dinner can be arranged in advance and is excellent. The Indian restaurant in the hotel next door is lovely and can be accessed through a small door on the roof terrace. It says private, but you are allowed to use it. Negatives, breakfast was served at 8am, which was frankly just too late for us, so the staff arranged for us to eat earlier, not much of a negative then. If you don't speak French you are going to struggle with the non-management staff. The room includes wifi (also available on the roof terrace) TV, air conditioning, dressing gowns, shampoo (no conditioner) shower gel, hairdryer, lots of mirrors as the room is quite dark, safe and hangers. Finding the Riad seems tricky at first and there are plenty of young men around willing to help you find your location for free who suddenly want money when you reach your destination. Don't be fooled, it's actually easy to find, once you know how. A taxi will drop you at the nearest point Bab Laksour (Bab means gate) you walk through the gate to Rue Sidi El Yumani and take the first right walking under an arch. Then turn right, left (the number 9 door is on your right,) left again and then right (the Palais Serban is on your left). Left at door no. 26, right under the arch (above the arch is written Riad Hasna Maison d'Hotes) and once you've walked through the arch you can see door number 31, door 33 which is the Riad Hasna Espi is directly ahead. There are signs stamped on the walls as you go, but they mostly say Riad Hasna with the Espi bit missing.

This is a very nice and clean riad at old medina. Good decoration and very nice terrace. Swimming pool small but would do for a cool touch. Staff friendly and excelent. Dar el fna at minutes of walking distance. Area secure. Very good value for money. I would recommend this riad to all the visitors.

In my experience faced poor maintenance Musky smell in room smelly toilet, whole in shower head pipe, no shower screen, towel holder falling, bedside light bulb blown Would have loved morrocan decor in room Food needed to ordered well in advance otherwise not available Although location is great in terms of getting to central locations Winding alleyways can be a challenge at night

Riad staff pleasant enough My experience of not getting safe up and running on first day, musty smell in room, stench in toilet, shower head having whole in pipe towel rail brocken/falling off wall and bedside lamp bulb needed replacing left me wondering if maintenance not up to scratch. No bath screen so use of shower resulted in puddle next to bath. The winding walkways leading to riad is part of location however has a challenge to get back on first two occasions signage not that obvious and there are people lingering in walkways offering to show you the way at a price.... Decor interesting but didn't have the morrocan touch i had hoped. Pool was tiny probably thouse the length of my bath at home. Meals had to be planned well in advance. I was informed they don't have frozen food and in order to get it in fresh orders required in advance. ....I didn't ask for frozen food however that's the way I was given explanation......it wasn't encouraging I had one evening meal. Opted to eat out after that. Internet connection was on and off but probably not roads fault.

We enjoyed staying at this lovely hotel. We started off on the wrong foot, as we arrived at night in rainy weather. The Riad did not have anyone to help us get to the hotel. We had to find out own way through unmarked streets. After that everything else was fine. The front desk girl Khouter went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. The support staff was great. One of our rooms was on the roof top and was very luxurious. The second room was very spacious also, the bathroom however needs to updated in the second room. Did not get to use the rooftop pool because of the weather, but it is in a beautiful setting. The staff cooked us a great meal on our last night. Overall a great stay. Would recommend without hesitation.

Would highly recommend this hotel- a small riad, tucked away just inside the walls of the Medina, this place offers peace and tranquillity in an otherwise hectic environment. from the moment of booking we were able to converse regularly, directly by email regarding several aspects of our stay- can't recommend the staff highly enough. Rooms were clean, comfortable and welcoming and since we went in the off season, we were upgraded to the best room. With only 8 rooms and a quiet rooftop terrace there is something intimate and peaceful about this hotel. Pros: Really helpful staff who responded to emails promptly and positively Staff set up a transfer to and from the airport for 20 Euros each way- taxi driver was prompt, spoke excellent English and gave great directions to the front door since cars cannot get there Located just inside the medina, 5 mins walk from the Jemaa El Fnaa but in a quiet spot away from hustle and bustle Decent breakfast of breads, pastries, fruit and coffee each morning lovely rooftop terrace with heated pool Staff happy to exchange euros for MAD on request and at decent rates Tips: could be a little tricky to find the front door- from the Bab El Ksour (Ksour Gate), take the first passage on the right and follow the signs spray painted onto the walls- its a minute or two round the corners.

This is a gorgeous place to stay. It has a lovely-looking interior and staff who really can't do enough for their guests. My bedroom was dotted with fresh rose petals and we were greeted the first day with mint tea and pastries. Breakfast is excellent and the whole riad is absolutely spotless. If I ever visit Marrakech again I will endeavour to stay here; I really can't imagine any riad in the city being better than this. My thanks go to the manager and staff for a great short stay! (I tried to upload a photo but it wasn't working.)

This risd is very well located, just minutes on foot to Jamaa El Fna. Our room was clean and comfortable. They have a lovely roof terrace which is great for breakfast. From here you can see over the city and the Atlas Mountains. The cleaning was perhaps a little over zealous, I found personal items moved and souvenirs taken out of the bags I'd left them in. That said I would recommend.

I had the opportunity to stay at the Riad Hasna Espri. My taxi driver contacted the riad had to persuade a staff member to meet us to take us to the riad. It was 6pm and there was no check in. No introduction to the hotel just a key, some mint tea with 3 pastries and direction to the room. We planned to go out in the evening. We told the night staff member we were going out. She responded by saying no, it’s too late. I was taken aback and I said excuse me. She then gave us the key to the front door. We chose to eat dinner in the Riad and then suffered with food poisoning. I have stayed in many hotels/riads in Morocco, but never experienced the lack of attention to detail that this "5 star" Riad offers. I am concerned about the documented size of room. The room that I paid for was definitely not 50 square metres. There is a safe in the wardrobe that is smaller than a shoebox and the manager gives you the code in an envelope. Is that any kind of security when the staff know the code? There are carpets in the room that are threadbare and could definitely use a good cleaning. I know this because the breadcrumbs from the first day were still there when we left. The only thing this Riad had going for it was its location. The walls and floors are very thin. I had the opportunity to smell the cooking from the kitchen. There were other riads in the area that did not presume to be 5 stars and were of better quality. Better research was needed this time around.

pros: spacious bedroom and ensuite, nice breakfast served on roof terrace cons: thin walls i forgot that i already paid the local tax when booking via hotels.com so i did not hesitate to pay the same amount when i was asked by the riad manager to do so at the riad. after back to the uk, i found out from my booking confirmation email that i have paid the local tax twice. therefore i wrote back to the riad manager and asked for refund but i do not get a response. i'm very upset as i feel cheated by the riad manager.

The hotel was a nice place to be in the city it is a very central location, however Expedia has mislead us on a number of aspects on the Riad and we will be contacting Trading Standards as the information is still incorrect. We were told the room was fit for three people the Riad contacted us to tell us this was not the case. We were also lead to believe that we would have a room with a city view this was also not the case. The pool and the quiet space on the roof was amazing. We had breakfast there most mornings. The staff were able to help and advice and were willing to book us onto an exertion only that we found a cheaper one 10 minuets away from the Riad. The staff were fantastic and we could not fault them when we needed help there were there to help. However, the transfer back to the airport was a disaster, we requested a car to pick us up at 8am and paid 200MD only to be told at 8.15am that he was not going to show up until 9am. Hence the staff found us a cab, however, we did not get our money back. Furthermore, we learnt that a cab would have only charged us 100MD. We were promised a tea/coffee maker in the room there was none, however, the hotel staff went and purchased a kettle and placed it in the room with tea bags and cups. I did compare the information on Expedia to other websites and Expedia is the only website to state that the room was suitable for three people. Breakfast was OK and fresh, but some variety wouldn't go a miss.

This was our first trip to Marrakech. Due to an hour flight delay, we did not arrive until the sun had set. However I was prepared with my phone maps to find the place, only to discover that the location of the Riad marked in CityMaps2Go and Googlemaps was incorrect. After inquiring with a number of locals, we were eventually led there through various narrow alleyways - probably at least 400m from the location marked in the maps. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Yousef, who was one of the hotel managers. After a brief tour of the facilities including the wonderful rooftop pool area connected to a nice bar/restaurant, we were then treated to a welcome mint tea and provided with some activity recommendations. The Riad became our little oasis over the next few days. Nice spacious room, courteous staff and relaxing pool area.
