The staff is very helpful and friendly. The riad is lovely in its decor and traditional ambiance.

Cons: It would be nice to have a breakfast buffet rather than serving all guests at the same time. The orange juice seemed to be from a carton rather than fresh squeezed, but the breakfast was nice overall. The location is a challenge for those who cannot walk long distances.

Quiet location yet within 10 mins walk to the medina- a peaceful, calm and soothing oasis in the midst of the chaotic daily life in the old city, the moment we stepped inside we felt all the tranquility and sense of serenity washing over us

Cons: We stayed there over two spells - first 3 nights in Fes , then a 2 night stay in Chefchaouen and a final 2 night return stay in Fes First spell was in the room with balcony on the 4th floor with no elevator which is normal in these centuries old Riads, but it was a workout that we could have done without after a day of walking and exploring!

the breakfast was great, the staff was helpful and courteous, the Riad was clean.

Cons: The Location – The Riad is situated within the heart of the Medina, a fascinating yet intricate maze of narrow streets that can be quite challenging to navigate, especially for first-time visitors. With few visible landmarks and little street organization, finding your way around can easily become confusing. Fortunately, the staff was exceptionally kind and thoughtful—they arranged for someone to meet us at our tour drop-off point and personally guide us to the hotel, which was a great help and much appreciated (a tip is expected, of course). Staying inside the Medina offers an authentic and immersive cultural experience, allowing guests to witness the daily rhythm of local life up close. However, it’s worth noting that this environment (specifically in the Fes Medina) can be challenging for many outsiders. The bustling atmosphere, winding alleyways, and sensory overload might not appeal to everyone. For those seeking comfort and convenience over cultural immersion, a stay outside the Medina may be more suitable. But for travelers eager to embrace the true essence of the city, this location provides an unforgettable experience.

La ns stanza era bella, grande e luminosa. Bagno grande, ben organizzato e incredibilmente dotato di bidet. Colazione abbondante e buona.

Our room felt like a palace or a museum of Moroccan architecture and design. The ceiling was stunning, and the room was spacious and comfortable. However, due to the traditional structure of the riad, it was a bit dark, as the windows face the internal courtyard. The hosts were friendly and polite. Our double bed was large and very comfortable. Both the riad and our room were exceptionally clean. It was also very quiet. The location is convenient—not in the center of the medina, but just about a 10-minute walk from it. The riad is also relatively close to the main medina parking area (about 7–10 minutes on foot).

Cons: Breakfast (for additional charge) is offered in a room, which I as understood, is not enough to welcome all the guests if they want to eat at the same time. Also breakfast time was quite late (9 am). WiFi was available but was not very strong (interruptions during video calls).

The property was beautifully restored with significant attention given to every detail. The location of the property was just within the boarder of the Medina which made arrival and departure, as well as going beyond the Medina, easy as the Medina is large and complex. The service provided was impeccable from arrival when a staff member had to come and find us in the Medina, to departure where pick up from the property was arranged for us. Breakfast was all you could ask for and more. Our room was on the top floor with a balcony giving us a spectacular view over Fez. We chose our room because it offered the balcony but the trade off was a comfortable but compact room and bathroom. Thank you to Karina and Moohna for your care and for making us feel welcome.

Everything about this location was incredible. The staff were very sweet and helpful as well as knowledgeable about Fez and its history. The fact that this Riad is built in one of the old palaces also makes it absolutely stunning inside. We were shocked at the amount of room and how much space we had. An incredible overall experience with so much help from the very sweet and hospitable staff. The breakfast was also delicious.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Palais Fez Riad for just 2 nights Our host Karima told us staying in a Riad should be like staying at your grandmothers house You should feel comfortable and welcomed and safe From the moment the driver Rashid met us at Fes airport (organised by Karima) after our early morning flight from london we felt safe He gently welcomed us to Fez and explained things to us. He stopped us outside the Medina (no cars in there) and casually walked us to our Riad where we were so enthusiastically welcomed by Karima Nothing was too much trouble -the Medina in Fez is chaotic and loud and bustling, our Riad was calm and gentle and homely The steps to the terrace gave us a wonderful view over the medina and the food a real pleasure It felt authentic and was so tasty the filling breakfast and the two dinners were so worth eating there and even the last day when we could not stay for breakfast we were sent with a lovely goody bag Karima even organised a car for the next part of our trip and contacted the driver once we had left Fez to check we were ok A great Riad as in location right in the Medina but more importantly a warm and friendly place that gave us a great start to our 1st trip to Morocco Thank you so much 🙏🏽

This is a truly special place, it is so beautifully done, the place feels like a palace, and yet so comfy and welcoming. The riad is absolutely stunning, so many beautiful little details and so much love has gone into making it what it is. It's a close (5 mins) walk to the centre of the medina, but so quiet at night. The other thing that makes this place so amazing is the people, Karima is an absolute star, she made me feel so at home and was a fountain of knowledge and advice about fes. She went out of her way to be the perfect host. Also, big shout out to Yaseen, who was an excellent tour guide, definitely ask for him if you book any tours. When I come back to fes, I'll be staying here again!

Cons: Nothing, i loved it. Only thing to consider is that as it is a riad, no lift, so that might impact people, but I appreciated the work out!

Wonderful Riad, full of art and beauty , few rooms, very welcoming hosts, excellent breakfast and dinner. If possible reserve one of the suites, they are breathtaking. Unfortunately they were not available during our stay, we got a modern room on the upper floor that you reach via steep stairs, but the advantage was that it has a balcony and it’s close to the rooftop terrace, and in the morning you can hear the children singing in the nearby school, it was a delight.

Cons: Nothing

A truly gorgeous historic Riad with genuine charm and helpful support staff from Fatima and Sanae. Excellent breakfast each day with a wide range of breads, fresh fruit, yoghurt, pastries, condiments, eggs and goats cheese. I genuinely felt like a sultan staying in the very large ornate deluxe room with my private balcony and from which I could sit and listen to Fes wake-up or retire. (Also has rooftop available to) Comfy bed, very clean room and bath. Large shuttered windows allowed good light control. I stayed in winter but never felt cold with good auto temp control in room.

Cons: More could be done with the rooftop to make it a mingle space for guests.

One of the most authentic places we have ever stayed! The room with two beds was incredibly spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. The showers were large with really hot water, and the heating through the air conditioning worked perfectly—even in December. The location was perfect—peaceful and away from the crowds, yet just a short walk to everything. You won't need a car during your stay. Staying here felt like living in a palace that belonged to a single family, with stunning interiors that truly capture the essence of a historic home. The atmosphere was magical, and we felt transported in time. Karima, the host, was absolutely wonderful! She assisted us with everything, from booking a hammam to arranging transportation to the train station. Her warm hospitality made our stay even more special. Don’t miss the terrace upstairs—it offers a breathtaking view that makes it the perfect spot to relax and soak in the beauty of Fez. I highly recommend Fez and Riad Fes Palacete for its unique charm and unforgettable experiences. This place is a gem!

Cons: The breakfast was good, but we’d love to see even more variety. Adding options like omelets or different styles of eggs, along with for example avocado, could take it from great to perfect!

Amazing historical riad located on the edge of Medina with incredible view from rooftop. The staff went out of his way to make us feel at home. Special thanks go to Sanae who arranged our airport pickup in spite of late arrival time (2am) and supervised our whole stay from delicious Moroccan breakfasts to finding our tour guide (the incomparable Adnan) to organising an amazing couscous dinner on our last evening. We spent two days at the hotel and booked a room with a balcony and two beds. The hotel is superb: everything is clean and well-maintained. I want to specifically highlight the interior — it is magnificent: mosaics, high ceilings, Moroccan lamps. If you want to spend time surrounded by exquisite oriental interiors, this is the place for you. The hotel is located near several restaurants and not far from a road where you can catch a taxi to visit local attractions. However, you might not even need a restaurant because the hostess cooks exceptionally well. We highly recommend trying her dinner — it's wonderful. An entire post could be dedicated to the hostess herself, her hospitality, and culinary skills. Here, I will just note her erudition, progressive outlook on the world, and her ability to create a pleasant and friendly atmosphere for enjoyable conversations and time spent. Among the pleasant additions are the options to order a transfer, access to the rooftop, and the possibility to arrange accommodations with other hotel owners in different cities. I definitely recommend this hotel.

How can I describe this amazing riad. It’s like living in a museum. A beautiful historical place located in the ancient Medina with every room having a completely unique atmosphere. The riad it self is located in a very quiet street but at the same time so close to the busy market. We had a beautiful spacious room at the 4th floor with panoramic view of the city of Fes, with all the amenities. The delicious breakfast is a hole experience served at the common space of the riad. Carrima, the hostess is a fantastic joyful and energetic woman and help us in every need we had including organize for our wedding anniversary a magnificent traditional and very romantic dinner at the rooftop. Cons: There is a room for improvement in everything, but I can't think of just pick one thing. The only issue we had was the long and steep walk from the gate. It should be mentioned in the property description, and someone should be sent to the entrance to help with the luggage.

Like the name implies, it is a PALACE! Ancient regal architecture, mosaic tilework, carved plaster, and located in the old Medina. Our room had canopy beds, a patio overlooking the city, access to the rooftop where we could sip wine under a full moon. The staff was friendly and attentive and supplied us with our youthful guide Yousef, who easily took us throughout the most complicated maze of a city I have yet journeyed. We were lucky to have had breakfast and dinner at the Fes Palacete because it was the same as going to a multi-star restaurant. Many times my wife and i would look at each other in disbelief that we could stay in such a wonderful place.. We are both grateful for memories we can share for the rest of our lives.

Cons: I did not like that I only booked this place for two nights. We could have stayed for three weeks!

This Riad was the most memorable event of our stay in Fez. We reserved a suite with a terrace, what we received was a literal palace that we had all to ourselves. The Riad dates back to 1363 and took 11 years to rebuild to its current Andalusian style palace. I have travelled extensively worldwide, but I never stayed in a palace. The location is a bit tricky, but it is well worth the experience. The staff was helpful in organizing transfers and guides and really stepped up to check on me when I was ill and bedridden for a day.

Cons: The location is tricky, but if you use guides it is not an issue

The room was fairy tale beautiful. This old Riad is a truly authentic experience. We took the top 'suite' room with the balcony - with a view over the whole medina. It was worth it - and if you have the option I recommend doing so. The location is about 10 minutes walk from the hustle of the busy market streets. That can be good or bad depending on your preference. Just be aware. For us it was great - every time we left the Riad we were faced with the challenge of finding it on the way back... which added to the magic of the medina. Be aware that the old town is a 3 dimensional maze, and every time you walk the streets you will be challenged.

It is a real palace, even the smallest detail seems to come out of a museum! Our room was huge, finely decorated. The stay was like a fairy tale, I can't imagine a better place to stay in Fez. The location in the heart of the Medina is also excellent. And in the evening you can dine at the Riad an excellent traditional Moroccan meal. It is worth mentioning the efficiency and kindness of Sanae, who solved all our needs.

The Riad is really beautiful. It looks grand and full of characters. Our room is huge and has a balcony overlooking the city.

Cons: The facilities in the room are not top quality.

One of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed in, a huge room, very friendly and accomodating staff, wonderful breakfast, great view from the roof terrace, and 6-7 minutes walk up to the souks (if you know the way).

Cons: Everything was perfect.

It's a real, stunning 14th moorish palace! I spent hours just sitting there marveling at the architectural and design details. It's like staying in a museum that also has comfortable sleeping arrangements. It's a fairytale level place. Sanae was absolutely amazing, she was always there ready to make our stay even more perfect, without being intrusive. We stayed for 3 days and it wasn't enough. Location is ideal, close to a great souk where we bought our food from the friendly vendors, within 15-20 minutes walk to the popular tourist attractions, though every street really is one. The only downside of Fes is hecklers, constantly praying on the tourists, but it's a price you are paying for experiencing this endless wonder. We are dreaming about coming back with a group of friends..Thank you Sanae and another wonderful lady who served a wonderful breakfast!

Cons: Stair, lots of stairs. If you have mobility issues, it's a problem. The pillow was too hard, but the bed was comfortable and the toiletries were amazing.

The Riad was so beautiful and all of the rooms were unique and so elegant. The staff was amazing, helping us navigate the Medina and even cooking a special breakfast that we wanted to try.

Cons: No complaints! The rooftop was beautiful, but not really furnished at all. You could make it into a really nice little oasis and it would be even better to watch the sunset!

Breakfast good Moroccan food. Located in Medina of Fez, no access to cars, very difficult to find your way around as there are hundreds of lanes and we were constantly pestered by youths following us asking where we were looking for, saying they could help us find our location, but they were only looking for money from us. This got very annoying and they would not leave us alone.

Cons: As above.

This location is away from hustle and bustle of Fes Medina, but still inside the medina and we could walk to our destinations. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They accompanied us several times to get to different area inside the medina as we would get lost easily. One night we got distracted by a group of young men, and we contacted the Riad staff came and got us. Our dinner one night (lamb tajin) was delicious, so were all the breakfasts. The rooms were so beautiful and grand, and we felt like royalty.

Cons: We had to walk from a medina gate to the Riad. It is uphill coming back to the parking lot. But the Riad staff carried most the heavy luggage.

We felt totally cheated by this hotel, it was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. We booked 2 so-called suites (1 junior with 2 twins, 1 panoramic king) for our family of 4 for over $1500 for 3 nights. I understand the economics of surge pricing, and that we made the reservation last minute. The ’panoramic king’ room we were given did NOT have a kingsize bed (do NOT give me nonsense about the king size beds outside the US being smaller). The so called panoramic view referred to 2 tiny single windows. The entire riad was smelly. We expect at least a minimum standard, for instance, soap and shampoo in the bathrooms. We bought hand washing soap and shampoo the next day ( it was not expensive, a major inconvenience). No where does it say that the hotel is a steep 15 minute walk from the main gate. We called from the airport, but the girl that came to receive us had no porter. We lugged our luggage through the incline. Our rooms were several flights of stairs up, we asked for help. The girl Sara kept saying she was new and that there was no one to help, so we lugged our suitcases (my husband and I have bad backs). One of the bathrooms had no lighting. We wanted to have an early breakfast because of jetlag, and to optimise our schedule, but we were told that the earliest they could provide breakfast was 9 AM. I can go on and on but will stop here.
