The staff was very pleasant and amazing. It was very clean as well.
Cons: When we arrived after midnight- we called and called but no one answered after several tries and waiting outside the Riad door for a long time. They had given us the ok to arrive late due to flight delay and changes.

We loved the service, staff, location, room, and the entire Riad. The location is close to the main center yet very quiet as we didn’t hear anything from outside the Riad. As the photos show the place is calm, beautiful, and well-kept. The staff will do whatever it takes to solve any questions. We were serviced so well. The couples Royal massage treatment and experience was excellent. The room was very clean with a shower that offered very hot to very cold water and everything in between. The rooftop is spacious, so you can have privacy from others. We loved the authentic breakfast and dinner. Not to mention the real coffee, mint tea, and orange juice. Thank you for going up and beyond for us.

The property is beautiful! Clean and beautifully furnished. Felt like we were in a bubble. The staff were all so kind and friendly and so so helpful. The food at breakfast was delicious and we chose to eat there every evening too because it was so good. It felt like being at home, if my home was a beautiful home in Marrakesh with someone cooking Moroccan food for me daily. We loved it there and would return in a heartbeat. And would definitely do some of the trips they arrange from there in the future.
Cons: Nothing. I have absolutely nothing negative to say

We really couldn't recommend Riad Melhoun and Spa highly enough. A truly outstanding oasis of calm, just a 3-minute walk from the cacophony of noise, smells, and culture that is Marrakesh. After absorbing the madness of the souk, what a treat to dip into the coolness of the ground floor poor, afterwards drying off in the quietness and heat of the terrace, complete with its warm pool, or treat yourself to a hamam and massage. Staff were outstanding from start to finish, orientating us with maps and tips, arranging transport, and always friendly, helpful, and thoroughly professional. Food was absolutely delicious, the beef tagine our highlight! Breakfast on the terrace was simply a daily delight.
Cons: I couldn't fault it.

We absolutely loved our stay! Everything was perfect from start to finish. The highlight for us was the amazing chicken and vegetable soup, which we called the Melhoun Soup. It was so delicious that we had it three times during our stay. We also really enjoyed having breakfast on the terrace every morning; it was such a lovely way to start the day. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. They even removed all the rugs from our room because of my allergies, which I truly appreciated. The location was perfect, and everything was spotless. We would happily stay here again

Grande esperienza!

Is there a rating higher than 10, because this Riad deserves it! I have just got back from a trip to Marrakech, a birthday treat for my mum, and the Riad and the team that work there ensured it was a special trip for us. The team cannot do enough for you, you truly feel like a guest in their home. The Riad feels so tranquil, an escape from the hustle bustle outside, a true oasis. Anything we needed or wanted, the team were on hand, and always with a smile. A beautiful traditional Riad, in a perfect location, oh and it smells absolutely beautiful! Do not hesitate to book this Riad if you are going to Marrakech!

Riad was clean, staff were pleasant, even as they lied to your face, breakfast on the rooftop was good. But wouldn’t go back. Owner clearly thinks it is acceptable to make offers on Booking.com which she has no intention of abiding by. Am attaching a photo in case there are any denials.
Cons: We booked this riad via Booking.com. We were choosing between 2/3 riads, which all looked much the same. We chose this Riad because it had an offer- a free upgrade on the room (Booking.com had a photo of the standard room & the upgraded room)plus late check out free of charge. When we arrived in the evening, we were shown to the standard room not the upgraded room. As I had seen the pictures, I queried it straight away. He said, no madam, all the rooms are the same, this is your room. The following morning, as we were leaving, we were offered a ‘suite’. We took a look but it smelled damp, and had a drains smell, so we didn’t want to move. In the evening, about 6pm when we went back to the riad they cornered us again and offered us the room we should have had in the first place. As we were only staying 2 nights and were checking out the following morning, for the hassle of moving rooms, we decided to stay put. That same evening I spoke to Noor, the owner, I said we would be checking out at 2pm (normal checkout was noon). She said, we can’t do that, can you check out at 1pm. I said we have late check out. She said how about 1.30 checkout. We settled on 1.45pm. So just be aware that if you book any offers at this Riad then you won’t get them. Final scam as we left, Riad tipped off one of their people, we thought he was the taxi driver since he knew my name, who came charging up to us ( he only caught up with us when we were almost at the taxi meeting point) who then aggressively wanted payment for grabbing our 2 tiny hand luggages, not giving us any choice, and taking them 30 yards (I kid you not).

We were looking for a place to rest mostly for long-weekend trip and Riad Melhoun was the absolute right choice. Prior to arrival, the Staff were very responsive, and addressed all our questions and queries. From the minute we entered the Riad, they were very kind and friendly, making sure we are feeling comfortable and enjoying our stay. They were always there when we needed and gave privacy while we were resting. We particularly selected Melhoun for its traditional and elegant design, and it is truly admirable; you can easily observe the attention to details and care given. The Jakuzzi-type pool on the rooftop was also a big plus. We highly recommend having lunch and/or dinner at the Riad. We tried several restaurants outside as well, but the ones we enjoyed the most were the ones at the Riad. A big shout out to Riad’s cooks. We found the location also very good. In-house spa facility was also fantastic. After a professional calming massage, getting into your own room in 1 minute to relax was the best way to recover from a long trip. We cannot recommend Riad Melhoun enough!
Cons: Nothing.Everything was great.

Our stay was EXCEPTIONAL! A friend had told me it was a MUST STAY (her favorite Riad that they stayed in throughout all of Morocco) and it did not disappoint. THE HOSPITALITY was incredible. Great location as a home base for 5 days in Marrakesh, comfortable and clean, sweet and helpful staff, so pretty, and delicious meals. Be sure to book a private guide and excursions through them NOT a group tour from other vendors. Price was reasonable and the experience so much better than the group tours!

The service in this beautiful riad was fantastic. Above and beyond in terms of helpfulness, especially Ahmed. But really everyone. The decor was also stunning. It was a renovation done by the French owner 20 years ago with a magpie collection of beautiful artifacts-- when we went to the Bahia Palace just around the corner, we realized that he had created a similar effect as there. The food was also excellent. No alcohol.

We had a wonderful experience at Riad Melhoun & Spa. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome with warm hospitality and great attention to detail. The Riad itself is also beautifully maintained, peaceful, and full of traditional charm. Nothing too old or too new. Perfect Marrakesh vibes! The highlight for us: The team was consistently helpful during our three-night stay. A special thanks to Nour, who helped me arrange a private hot air balloon tour, a dinner reservation at Le Fondouk, and even surprised us with a lovely cake for Jesse's birthday. They all do their best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The rooms and common areas were well cared for, and the rooftop terrace was the perfect spot to relax. Dinner at the Riad was delicious and definitely worth trying. The only thing I’d say could improve is breakfast—it could offer a bit more variety. But the option to enjoy it either on the terrace or the ground floor is a great touch. Overall, we felt completely at home and are truly thankful to have stayed in such a welcoming and peaceful place. We highly recommend it if you are looking for a romantic, safe, and relaxing spot.
Cons: As I mentioned, the variety of breakfast could be improved, but it was not bad; you get a well-packed offer. I applaud the fact that they keep it traditional, and it is excellent to enjoy it either downstairs on the ground floor or on the terrace. Orange juice was delicious! They serve espresso if you request it and treat you with sweets to lift your mood up!

We had the most incredible stay here from the moment we walked in the door and were served a delicious glass of Moroccan Mint Tea. Everything about the Riad exceeded our expectations but what really set it apart was all of the amazing staff. Everyone working here went above and beyond. On our first morning Noir provided us with a map and took the time to plan out a walking tour for each of our days in Marrakech and each day we came back to beautiful towel arrangements and roses left for us in our room. We had dinner here several nights and found it to be the best meals we had for our entire trip, especially the marriage tagine! But what really made our stay here so special was the connections we made with the staff, especially Jamal and Abdul, and the genuine conversations we had with them while staying here. I had told them one night at dinner I had bought a tea pot to make mint tea at home and I loved the tea glasses they used at the Riad but hadn't been able to find them anywhere. On our last night they surprised me with a set of the tea glasses then took the time to show me how to make the mint tea so I could bring a piece of Morocco home with me. We had such a hard time leaving but are already planning our next trip back. We are recommending this Riad to everyone we know!

Everything was amazing! You know a place is special when it is the highlight of your trip. The hospitality from everyone at Riad Melhoun was amazing. Myself and my wife stayed here for a week to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and we truly felt like we were at home. We befriended the staff there who were some of the kindest people we have met and they really made our anniversary trip feel special. They upgraded us whilst a nicer room was available and even gave us a wonderful parting gift. If you wish to dine here, the food is exceptional and home made. The best dinner we had during our trip was in the Riad itself. Everything is fresh! The spa treatments were also great and made us feel this way too. The place itself is stunning and so comfortable. The centre inside with the lovely pool feature, the rooms, the spa and the rooftop with another pool provide many ways to help you feel relaxed. It truly felt like a real authentic Moroccan stay. We could not recommend this place enough and hopefully we will be lucky enough to stay here again if or when we come back to Marrakech. Nour, Abdul, Mohammed, Ahmed, Jamal + everyone else who works there (sorry if we have not included your name) were amazing and the highlight of our stay. We are very happy to have got the chance to meet them and wish them the best! Thank you for a wonderful stay!! If you want a truly authentic Moroccan experience that makes you feel at home then this is the place for you.

Amazing experience, one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at! The staff is incredible, very welcoming and will accommodate to any need. We have enjoyed two dinners at the Riad, and they were among the best meals we’ve had on the entire trip. Location is hard to beat: easy walk to everything that Medina had to offer, yet incredibly quiet and peaceful inside the Riad. The heated swimming pool was a huge hit with our son after long days with exploring!

It was a pleasure to stay at Riad Melhoun. The Riad is centrally located and beautifully renovated. All of the staff were warm and knew how to make us feel at home. They paid special attention to our 4 year old daughter, who had a great time in the roof deck pool. Breakfast was excellent and substantial. We also had dinner at the Riad and each night the food was excellent. The excursions recommended by the hotel were also really fun.
Cons: Nothing to improve on!

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home, the staff are absolutely exceptional, extremely helpful, friendly and go out of their way for you. The Riad is situated perfectly for getting around the Medina and for getting out if you want to (we went hot air ballooning which was organised by the manager) highly recommend! They sorted our transfers to and from the airport as well so it was a very smooth pleasant experience. The accommodation itself was absolutely stunning, it felt very Moroccan and is a peaceful oasis from the hustle and bustle of the streets of Marrakech. Rooftop pool was lovely and our room was really really beautiful. We also discovered the best food we had throughout our entire trip was in the riad, no word of a lie, the chicken tagine is absolutely f**king insane, literally out of this world! Shout out to the cook! We had a hammam and relaxing tonic massage there as well which was fabulous, particularly the hammam, we felt reborn and then slept like logs. All in all, 10/10, maybe 11/10. Love from Briege and Zach ☺️

Where to start about this marvellous gem of a stay. I left it very late to book and was lucky to get a cancellation at this Riad but I had no idea what I had chanced upon. The place is beautiful from the minute you go through the small traditional outside door. The pictures tell it but they don’t show the quality of the furniture and the little things that make this a true five star plus experience. Two pools the one on the roof terrace is heated and lovely and warm. The downstairs one is just beautiful. It’s quiet at night and location wise is perfect as it is next to the Bahia palace, the spice market, fish market and a straight walk up to the souk. The breakfast is wonderful and taken on the roof terrace with views of the city is unforgettable so were the two meals I had by the pool at night. So reasonably prices and what a setting. A fabulous massage in the Riads own spa a nicer experience than my visit to tripadvisors no1 hammam nearby, complementary sun hats sprinkled around the lovely loungers on the roof and you get the idea of the attention to detail put into the place. Last but the opposite of least. The staff. What a bunch of lovely folk.I was Mr Mark for the four days.I wont mention names it would be unfair but just to say all were gorgeous people and made me feel special.Thank you. My first trip to the city. The Riad Melhoun made my week.It was the highpoint. Book this Riad.Eat at night by the pool. You wont forget or regret it.

We had a fantastic stay at Riad Melhoun & Spa! The staff were incredibly accommodating and helpful throughout my visit. A special thanks to Ahlam and Ahmed who we had great conversations with, Abdsamad and Mohammed who always greeted us with a smile and made sure we felt comfortable and Jamal who went out of his way to find us a supermarket at late hours. They made us feel so welcome and took care of everything we needed. The Riad itself is stunning, peaceful, and perfectly located, with delicious food and great attention to detail. The location was amazing and everything was only 10-15min drive from the riad. We highly recommend Riad Melhoun to anyone visiting Marrakech – an unforgettable experience! - Sagar & Shilpa

Very well located for a trip to the souks and all the tourist attractions. The Riad is beautifully restored, in keeping with the traditional Moroccan guest houses. The attention to detail and the staff hospitality made this trip one of the best experiences I’ve had whilst travelling. Jamal and the team were extremely welcoming and accommodating, made us feel like royalty! The highlight of our trip was the romantic dinner on the Riad rooftop Jamal and the team organised for us. They set up the space so carefully ans the atmosphere was like a fairy tale. My partner also enjoyed a Haman and a massage here as well, which were both a 5* experience! The other mention we would like to make is the housekeeper who every day managed to surprise us with beatiful towel arrangements and rose petals. What a great holiday!

Our review of this beautiful and cosy Riad must start with praises for Jamal. Jamal was the receptionist/host when we arrived; from the start till the end of our stay he made it really special. He was extremely polite and cordial, had helpful suggestions for everything we asked. We had booked Gaya Suite which was the only suite on the ground floor next to the natural pool, which made it feel very private. The Riad is centrally located which means everything is accessible very easily. We booked transfer from Airport, excursion to Ait Ben Haddou and transfer to Essaouria from the hotel - all at a very reasonable prices. Jamal also provided helpful tips regarding shopping and navigating the streets of Marrakech. We took the royal couple spa which was nice. We also had dinner at hotel - they made wonderful tagines and salads - again very very personalised. We also ate at other places but the food made at the hotel felt more authentic and homely, thanks to the chef. Breakfast was delicious and plenty - Jamal also prepared breakfast for us early at 6:30, on the day we had our trip to Ait Ben Haddou. Overall - very good experience - we will definitely come back!

I stayed there with my family- 2 rooms and they were a nice size; the spa and hamman were very nice and the staff couldn’t have been nicer-so all in all a good choice. I personally did not care for the breakfast and while it is a very good location for being near but not in the souk cars cannot come or drop you right at your door so a woman alone or anyone with a walking problem might not be comfortable there

The hotel is beautifully appointed. The main room is stunning, with plenty of comfy corners and of course the pool as the centre piece. The upstairs roof terrace again has plenty of smaller areas with more than enough seating and sunbeds, all beautifully decorated, and one of the prettiest rooftop pools I've ever seen. Everything throughout the hotel has been carefully curated with excellent attention to detail. The staff were exceptional, constantly going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and happiness throughout the stay. We enjoyed the onsite hammam spa and a beautiful evening meal, both kindly arranged for us by the staff. I researched many different riads in Marrakech and I'm delighted that I chose Riad Melhoun, we can't wait to visit again.

Our stay at Riad Melhoun was beyond 5 star! We absolutely loved our stay, everything was perfect from the beautiful property, to the amazing staff. This Riad is gorgeous. Our room was very large and spatious, our bed was really comfortable, and our bathroom was beautiful, it also had really great water pressure. We spent every morning up on the rooftop terrace for breakfast before we would head out to explore for the day. It was so quiet and peaceful, I highly recommend. I love the location of the Riad, we were an easy walking distance to just about everything. A 5 minute walk to the palaces, a 5-10 min walk to the Souqs. I love that the Riad was really close to the markets without being right in the middle of them. Noise was never an issue. The Staff at Riad Melhoun are the best of the best. They went above and beyond to be helpful and accomodating.

The staff were very friendly, helpful and courteous. Very good value and good quality. The location of the Riad was perfect for visiting everything the medina had going on.
Cons: The only thing I missed was a pool big enough to actual swim in, but the plunge pool offered certainly was nice and refreshing. A good idea to ask about the taxis, they try and overcharge. In Drive app a good option too!

Location was amazing. Most of the staff is extremely kind
Cons: The value for money wasn’t there. The rooms are tiny for the price you pay. I appreciate we are very centrally located but the facilities for the foreign travellers are few. The WiFi is spotty. There is no facility for tea so you always have to request for milk and hot water from the staff. The hot water is sometimes lukewarm so one thing that is tea that keeps you going is also not easily available. Mixed information. One staff member told us it was ok to order form outside and eat at property. The other one refused initially to let us eat out at the open. He did agree eventually but the information was not consistent. Rooms are very tiny for the price. No sofa to Sit. It’s an experience to see what a Riad is however hotel would provide much more facilities. They charge 7 star prices for sub par service which isn’t their fault per se - it is just what it is. The staff however is amazing

I never leave reviews, but this property was exceptional. The Riad was a peaceful oasis away from the bustle of the Medina, yet situated so centrally. Every encounter we had with the staff was a pleasure. Particularly, Mohammed welcomed us so kindly, made us tea and showed us around the Riad. He was so attentive without being too imposing. Nour met us before we headed out to explore for the first time and showed us recommended routes, explained some history as well as giving us tips for the souks and best places to visit. When we returned from exploring, the rooftop was perfect to relax on, or the lower level in the evenings where we enjoyed the board games on offer and tea. We also had a spa treatment that was amazing which the staff arranged for us without any hassle, where our (delicious) Moroccan breakfast was set up for us when our treatment was over. Nothing was ever too much for the staff here and the facilities were perfect. We were so sad to leave and cannot wait to return!

Everything was exceptional, I cannot fault it at all. The Riad was beautiful and had everything you could want to make a very comfortable stay. The staff were so friendly, helpful and arranged some very special tours including a hot air balloon ride. From the pick up at the airport to being taken to our next destination everything worked like clockwork. We ate at the Riad twice for dinner in the evening and each meal was freshly cook and delicious. The breakfast too was lovely, especially eaten on the terrace as the sun rose. It was nice to relax on the sun terrace with a small heated pool after a day sight seeing. The location was very quiet but within a short walk to the Medina, Bahia Palace and all the local attractions.

The staff were so lovely, friendly and extra helpful and happy. The rooftop terrace was a hidden gem. The seating area downstairs was beautiful and traditional.
Cons: The Riad was located down an allyway, on our first night we felt a little bit uneasy walking there in the dark, but we got used to it quite quickly. Breakfast was nice but they maybe could change up the options some days.

Had a fantastic stay at Riad Melhoun! The staff went above and beyond to make our stay amazing - Ahmed even served us dinner at 10pm when we arrived late. This is a hidden gem in a quiet part of the medina but still a short walk away to all sights. The rooftop was amazing with the jacuzzi pool, the spa, the food, the decor.. everything was perfect, we will be back for sure. 100% recommend!!

Everything was fantastic, the staff were so welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived. Riad Melhoun is an oasis of calm amidst the craziness of Marrakesh. The Riad is an old converted town house. It is beautiful and has been restored in a sympathetic style. It has a lovely central atrium. The roof has some lovely areas to rest and a small heated pool. The small ground floor pool was cold, ideal in the summer. Breakfast was served in either place and was served until 11am. So perfect for your lazy start of the day. It has 9 rooms, which are bijou and done in the style of the house. The location is in the middle of the Medina, so perfect for sightseeing. What makes this place exceptional is the level of service. They are really lovely. The food was great. We just ate breakfast and dinner, which was more than enough. We chose this over an expensive hotel as we wanted something more authentic and are pleased we did.
Cons: The beds are on the firm side, which suited me. But might not be ideal for some.

Riad Melhoun was amazing! The Riad was beautiful, and staff were very welcoming. We got a chance to experience the warm Moroccan hospitality at the Riad. We honestly felt like home at Riad Melhoun. Dinners at the Riad are a must as their tagines were much much better than at high-end restaruants. We travelled after the Earthquake and during the Israel-Gaza conflict, and we did not have any issues regarding safety. We definitely look forward to coming back!

Riad Melhoun was quite possibly the best place we have ever stayed. It was a piece of luxury hidden in the bustling Medina of Marrakech. We felt welcomed and safe throughout our stay and there was someone available to help 24/7. We stayed in three riads in Marrakech, all >9.5 on booking.com and whilst all lovely, Riad Melhoun is off the scale. The staff- We genuinely miss the team working at Riad Melhoun- they were incredibly kind, considerate and welcoming. One of many examples of this- we were cold after it rained one afternoon, and on our return we were offered a complimentary hammam to warm up! The Riad- This is one of the few riads we found with a terrace pool. Moroccan tea, in a lit up, heated pool, under the stars at 9pm, was special. The interior detail is phenomenal, no photo does it justice, you'll find it lit with candles at night, with beautiful smells and incredible rooms. Also, the riad only caters for a small number of guests despite ample space to relax and two pools, you therefore have privacy to relax all times of the day. Breakfast was delicious, with the option of having it 'berber style' on cushions on the floor, or up on the terrace, or by the pool in the riad downstairs. A note about current news- I appreciate the Israel-Palestine conflict might cause significant concern for many travelling, I would like to take this opportunity to advise that Marrakech was peaceful and without checking the news you wouldn't actually know what was happening around the world right now. Additionally, the riad was unaffected by the earthquake and there's in fact very little evidence of this around Marrakech. What an incredible trip, envious to those yet to explore this incredible place!
Cons: Nothing.

Our stay at Riad Melhoun was absolutely wonderful! From the start Noor and his team were welcoming and so helpful in any way we needed. They shared lots of tips for visiting the sites and pitfalls to avoid - this made it easy for us to sight see by ourselves. Breakfast was great and we had dinner twice, both evenings were relaxed with traditional tagine and cous cous - both excellent and probably the best meals we had on our trip! This place is a little oasis, a stones throw from Bahia Palace and less than 10mins walk to Jemaa el Fnaa. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

This Riad was INCREDIBLE - the only accommodation I'd recommend for Marrakech. We were guests for 4 nights and didn't want to leave. The property was amazing as the decor was exquisite, clean and overall beautiful. The staff was out of this world and as a guest you are treated to amazing people who will take care of you. Nor, Mohammad, Jamal, Abdul, Adeesha, Sahira were above and beyond extraordinary taking care of my friend and me (I saw how lovely they were to other guests as well). I highly recommend eating dinner at the Riad and taking a cooking class from Adeesha, Sahira and Jamal - it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience! The Riad was our oasis within a very hectic city. Once we walked through the front door, we were treated to a very calm, quiet and relaxing atmosphere - we spent most of our time at the Riad for this reason.

This is a remarkable place to stay in Marrakech--a traditional riad in the heart of the Medina dating from 16th century. It boasts a courteous staff, extraordinary decor, beautiful rooms, impeccable service, and superb food. The resourceful staff arranged trips for us with knowledgeable guides both within the city and around the country. Marrakech has recovered entirely from the earthquake and is safe for travelers. Do yourself a favor and stay here rather than in a modern "luxury" hotel that cannot begin to match what is on offer at Riad Melhoun.

The highlight was the staff, they are so friendly and will do anything for you. Jamal in particular is very friendly :). In the build up to our stay they were also helpful in booking a taxi to the Riad and excursions Location is fantastic being a short walk from most the of attractions and right in the hustle and bustle of the city The decoration inside the Riad is stunning and it’s so quiet and relaxing inside which is lovely to come back to after a busy day exploring. The food was also very good, we had dinner twice there and they made sure to make it different each time and was also a reasonable price. The terrace is lovely with a small heated pool perfect for relaxing
Cons: The breakfast, whilst good overall, was similar every day. Usually not an issue but if you stay for more than 2/3 days then it can feel repetitive. Also the Riad / rooms have no windows and are quite small. Again after 2-3 days this can feel a little tiring especially if you have big suitcases! All minor points overall though!

EVERYTHING - it was so homely and the staff couldn’t have been more amazing. We had dinner the first night in the Riad and it was delicious. All the food was fab and traditional morrocan. The staff couldn’t have done more for us. They gave us advice and tips on what to do, where to go and guided us with a map route. We took full advantage of the hamman and went for the full experience. The rooms were great. The location was excellent a few minutes walk and you are in the middle of everything. And it was nice and quiet and so dark. We slept in most mornings which was so needed. And then we enjoyed breakfast on the roof top. This was a fabulous Riad to stay in and we don’t normally return to places as we like to try new places but we definitely will come here again if back in morroco. Special thanks to Noor was incredible throughout but particularly amazing on our last day when we had issues with our pre booked taxi company. He went above and beyond walking us to the location whilst letting us use the hotspot on his phone. Its the little things and how much this place cares that made it so special. Also thank you to Mohammed and Tariq for making us so welcome too. My partner wanted to let you know that he loved watching the World Cup with you. Congratulations to morroco on making it so far. We wanted to come back to celebrate with you!
Cons: Take this with a pinch of salt as we decided to come in December but I think some heaters/blankets were needed to sit in the downstairs part of the riad or close the roof for the evening meals. It was a little too chilly for us. After 3 days we were a little tired of such a sweet breakfast but we do like to do things how the home country does. Don’t go western but maybe have more savoury options for breakfast?

Cons: The bed was up against a wall which meant one person had to shuffle out the bottom end to get out. But it was a comfortable bed!

I’m not normally one to write reviews but after this amazing stay I had to! Firstly - the staff were fantastic in every way. Incredibly kind, knowledgable about the local area, and helpful. They made us feel like we were staying with family and nothing was an issue for them. The riad itself is stunning - every part of it is beautiful and has lots of space for relaxing during the day with some mint tea or with some wine after dinner. We had dinner here on our first night which was excellent and the breakfast on the terrace was great (we especially liked the yogurts, the cheese and pancakes and the special egg tagine we had on our last morning). Transfers to and from the airport are all arranged for you and was super easy. The room was always clean, cool and extremely comfortable. The pool and hammam/spa was great and something we looked for when booking our stay. It did not disappoint! The ladies who delivered the massages and hammam were kind and very talented. The riad is also very easy to find and located near a taxi rank. You’re only about 10 mins away from the El Fina square and there are lots of nice bars and restaurants very close. I couldn’t fault this place and we’ve already promised to come back. A home away from home!
Cons: Nothing - everything was truly fantastic!

The property was lovely, very clean and tidy and in a great location. The roof terrace and pool is a relaxing retreat from the heat of the day and busy Medina. The staff were all super friendly and helpful! The breakfast in the morning was one of the highlights, changing everyday. We also ate dinner there one night which was very delicious.

The breakfast was a multi dish event every morning, served on the upper terrace, with fresh orange juice, and coffee or mint tea.
Cons: Nothing, it was all good, superb evening dinners, great staff and all around a top stay. There was easy access to all of the old city, including the main square and the medina. It helped that I could have a glass of wine and a bottle of beer. The Riad organised our airport transfers, a walking tour and a trip to the mountains. All very good value.

Every little detail about this place is gorgeous. It represents the Moroccan craft to its true essence. I loved how they thought about everything to ensure you feel the Marrakech experience. The food and service are amazing. It’s also very quiet and relaxing. Great location, few mins walk from the main market.
Cons: Nothing but my husband would have appreciated being able to smoke a shisha in the rooftop since the set up was perfect for that lol.

Breakfast on the rooftop with the sun rising is a thing to be remembered. The Moroccan pancakes where a substantial start to the day. Freshly squeezed orange juice was perfect. The rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean and well appointed. Dinner is a must as the kitchen produce fantastic Tagines with the freshest of ingredients. The trips are well organised and the spa is a good experience. Every member of staff is helpful and the guidance they give is priceless.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the lunchtime meals/snacks we bought were excellent
Cons: There were 2 tiny pools. One in the courtyard was not heated and freezing cold (this was May). The other pool was on the roof in full sun and was heated - so much so that it was very unpleasant to use. We were upgraded to the "tent" room on the roof but actually would have preferred a riad room in retrospect. Breakfast was on the roof but even early morning ti was too hot to be at many of the tables

From the moment we were met at the door of Riad Melhoun we felt genuinely welcomed - such a lovely retreat from the madness of the Medina! The riad is beautiful - lovely intricate carvings with quiet nooks and crannies everywhere plus a magic roof-top retreat. Our room - Maya - was on the 2nd floor - spacious, really comfortable bed & pillows - and we couldn’t believe how quiet (& dark!) the room was - couldn’t even hear the calls to prayer. We had 2 dinners here - great meals - each dish explained & fantastic service. When I mentioned that I loved the olives in one of the salads, they bought another bowl of them! Direction wise we found it easy to find our way home after each day of wandering as it’s quite a direct walking route from the Jamaa fna square - after you’ve done it once! Also thoroughly recommend the spa & hammam- more like a western spa experience than a traditional hammam but with a little more nudity :)! We would come back to stay in a heart-beat!

I stayed for one night at the end of my time in Morocco in November. It was magical. I had a beautiful conversation about olives and eggplant one evening with Ahmed, and I had before me an eggplant vegetarian tagine breakfast extravaganza the next morning to my great surprise! Riad: The riad is very peaceful and beautiful. Authentic moroccan decor and attention to detail is what makes the riad memorable. The riad is beautifully decorated and so are the rooms. The pool area and the roof top were amongst my favorite spots to chill. Rooms: We stayed in Junior suite and we loved the room. It was spacious, clean and with all the amenities. Also, the decor is traditional which adds a charm to the room Staff: The staff is super helpful and they entertain all your needs. Mohammed helped me order a pizza from Dominoes nearby (since my husband was craving for it). They helped us with how to plan our sight-seeing and took care of all our needs. Breakfast: The breakfast was delicious: traditional Moroccan with pancakes and bread. Location: The riad is just a couple minute walk from the Bahia Palace and the city center. It was very convenient for us and we finished all the nearby sights in a day!! Would recommend staying in this riad for the hospitality and the ambiance!

The property itself is amazing!! The second you step in you feel the history, beauty, and magnificence of Moroccan architecture. The location is fantastic... I’ll never forget the walks through the narrow streets of the Medina. But above all, THE STAFF!! They were there for us when we needed recommendations, drivers, tips on dresscode, they helped us when our atm card didn’t work anywhere and we were out of cash. This riad has an INCREDIBLE team of colleagues who work so well together and made our time in Marrakesh a dream come true. Thank you!!

The location is roughly a 5-10min walk to the main square, but you wander through all the beautiful shops on your way. There is lots of restaurants also nearby. The staff here are AMAZING. Mohamed and the staff went over and above to look after us. THEY made our experience here amazing. Fresh tea on arrival, helping us on WhatsApp when we got lost. Making local recommendations. Talking with us each day when we returned and we shared and showed all our local purchases. Not all Riads are like this, but this made such a difference for our trip and our stay. The Riad has a small pool area and a restaurant. It is great value for money. The Hammam and massage is also available at the Riad. We have stayed in so many different hotels/accommodation. To be exact almost 34 countries in 4 years....this one stood out to us because of the people! When we come to Marrakech we will definitely stay at this Riad again!!! Thank you so so much

The riad is a beautiful oasis not far from the melee of the Médina. The staff are extremely welcoming and willing to help with any problems even ones that don’t involve the riad. We had a problem with our flight home and they helped sort it out and arrange earlier transport for us. We had a hammam and massage there which were very nice. The rooms are very traditional, I would have preferred a duvet rather than blankets and sheets which kept separating and it was a bit chilly at times because it is their winter. The shower took a while to warm up too but for what we paid I think we got excellent value. I would definitely recommend this riad to anyone who wants a traditional morrocan welcome in beautifully renovated surroundings.

Riad Melhoun is one of the loveliest places I've ever stayed. Everything is of a 5 star standard but without the accompanying sky-high price! The decor is stunning - it really wows when you enter the unassuming front door. It's like some of sort of beautiful Aladdin's cave! I posted a few picture on Instagram and as a result a couple of my friends have already booked to stay later this year! The best thing about the Riad is the wonderful staff. Nor and Mohammed were so friendly, helpful and professional - as were all the staff. This was particularly important to me as a woman travelling alone. I really felt that I had friends to catch up with after returning from a day at the souks or sightseeing! Nothing was too much trouble. Nor gave me some very useful (and trustworthy) tips on haggling and the local sights, and even got some ripped clothing fixed for me. He was also very generous with the mint tea! I had two evening meals and a hammam during my stay, and both were exceptional. Having your dinner by the pool or on the roof terrace was a very special experience. The rooms are also beautiful, with gorgeous toiletries, and it's a perfect location for the old medina. I adored this place and really hope I'll be back. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Hotel is almost impossible to find. We checked with three taxi drivers and they did not know where it is. We were left far away with our luggage which we had to carry passing the old town. When we checked in we were surprised to find out that the double room is so small that we could not open our luggage as there is no place for it. There is no window, so the room feels like a prison cell. The bathroom is old fashioned but relatively clean. Fortunately, we stayed only one night, otherwise we would have changed the hotel.

This Riad is a magical little Oasis about a 10 min walk from the main square. My friends and I took advantage of the airport pick up which was seamless and took the stress out of being in a new country. once at the riad we were greeted by Mohammed the manager of the hotel. what a gem of a man. he first offered us mint tea and cookies while he explained the property and gave us some handy tip on being in Marrakech. And he also has a great sense of humour! We indulged in the meal on the first night and it was sensational. the salads were especially delicious! and Mohammed even arranged some surprise Christmas decorations and some live local musicians to come perform. and watch out for Mohammad's slick dance moves! hahaha such a fun night. After a peaceful sleep we woke to an amazing breakfast of traditional delights!!! so yummy. Mohammed and his staff are extremely attentive and offer help when ever you need. they also offer hammam and spa services which I highly recommend too. This riad really made our trip magic! I certainly would recommend it to anyone travelling to Marrakech and I hope to be back soon. :)

The Riad Melhoun was in a really good location for the Medina and market shopping. We asked from the staff for some insider information on bartering and local prices for taxis. They were happy to fill us in on this. For the food.. We were exited for the breakfasts every morning. Huge selections of delicious meals were served. The Hotel itself is beautiful and peaceful inside, with a nice rooftop terrace to relax on after a long day of shopping. The staff offered possibly the best service I have ever received from a hotel. I would recommend the Riad Melhoun to anyone. 10/10

riad was clean. hotel staff friendly but not good communicators. rather than trying to help you they nod and smile. breakfast was bland and undesirable. while they suggest that different food provided each day there is too much of it and it is not fresh. such a shame when you read other reviews and the breakfast sounds delicious with home made yoghurts etc what really put sour taste in the mouth was the owner not refunding me a night stay. confusion came from the staff who did not understand/try to help/pretended not to understand with my problem at start of stay. while the owner forgot to charge me for all extras, I stupidly agreed to pay back by bank transfer once I had left. Only to realise that they would not be refunding me the agreed amount at all.

not knowing where to stay in marrakesh, I read some reviews and narrowed it down to 2 riads, this one and one other. The location of this riad is superb and the staff is extremely friendly and helpfull. It is located 2 minutes away from all the hussle and noise of the night life and open air markets, which could be quite noisy til the wee hours of the night, so this was the purrrfect location. Breakfast was fit for a king and more than enough. taxies were close by and you could negotiate price to around 100 dirhims to go just about anywhere. I would definitely go back !

My boyfriend and I visited Marrakech for a long weekend and had a lovely stay at riad melhoun. The service that we received was excellent. In particular from Nour. He was the sweetest, most friendly, always enthusiastic host. Even at 5AM when we woke up to go to on a hot air balloon ride (highly recommended!), he served us breakfast extra early in the courtyard. There was some confusion about the price of the balloon ride which we booked through emma, the manager- however this was cleared up, by Nour. The riad is in a great location- very easy to walk anywhere. We walked everywhere including the jardin marjorelle and it was absolutely fine and great to explore the old town by foot. The breakfast provided in the morning is very tasty- I particularly liked the cake which is black (not sure of the name) and the custard pot thing (again not sure of the name). I'd probably say it's most bread/pancake type things though. More fruit or protein would be nice however there is a very good variety of different carb and it's different everyday. I highly recommend this riad, it is truly beautiful inside and out.

A wonderful welcome from Noor, exceptional service from Mohammed and all the staff were smiling and pleasant. The location is perfect (once you've got your bearings), the food was lovely (the breakfasts were huge!) and overall it was the perfect place to relax in after a busy time in the souks. We really couldn't rate it more highly. (One tiny point - we had quite a small room above the kitchen and it had the service lift to the roof terrace running up the side of it - which is quite noticeable until you get used to it! Next time we'll ask for a different room!) Mark and Sarah Hampshire

This Riad was amazing. Everything about it was fantastic! The rooms were clean and sizable. The area it was in was safe and close to everything you would want to do. But what really makes this a special place was the staff. Everyone was so helpful. It was our first time in Morocco and as visitors we were a little nervous about being around different customs. The staff of Riad Melhoun put us at ease. After 10 minutes of being there we felt as if we were at home. We could not have asked for a better experience and i highly, highly recommend Riad Melhoun.

The moment I saw this Riad at Hotels.com I knew it was the one. And we were not the least disappointed. The Riad itself is absolutely beautiful. In the mornings (for breakfast) and at the end of afternoons we stayed in the roof terrace. Then in the evening we would go down to the courtyard and read/relax until we were ready for bed. I cannot stress enough how enjoyable that was! But the best part of the Riad was the staff. Samir was very warm an welcoming, and upon our arrival gave us a great introduction to the city, pointing out in the map great suggestions for restaurants and sights. Mohamed was absolutely incredible, constantly making sure we were "perfect"! He even taught us some arabic and became a good friend, hopefully for life! And I urge you to have dinner there once, Mohamed's tagine was beyond words! The breakfast was also great, a great selection of typical Moroccan dishes. Every day there was at least one dish new to try, and the variety was great. It consists mainly of breads, cakes, pancakes, jams and orange juice. The Medina is a crazy place, and to experience a proper Riad you need to stay in the Medina. We walked quite a lot (never took taxis), and I have to stay, our location was the best. Once you've been guided there, it was very easy to reach. The street was relatively quiet, always with children playing in it! We will absolutely recommend this Riad, an hopefully be back to it again and again!
