We stayed two days in Riad Sara on the ground floor. The riad is beautiful, with very spacious rooms. The courtyard was amazing — very beautiful and spacious, a perfect place to relax. Ahmad and his team were exceptional. He has great attention to detail. For example, whenever someone sat in the courtyard, he would turn on the fountain and play calming music, which made the atmosphere even more special. With only seven rooms, the place feels like home. The staff can really focus on each guest and their needs. We also had dinner there once — the food was amazing, with a real homemade touch. Ahmad was always present, ready to help, and made our stay a great experience. The location is excellent, close to everything you need in the city.

Cons: The only downsides were that the bathrooms could use some renovation, as the taps are getting old, and the mattresses were fine but not great.

The riad has a beautiful historical interior. Our room was very spacious and comfortable.

Cons: We lacked a fridge in the room and a kettle - my wife likes a fresh coffee in the bed to wake up. To get it I had to dress up and walk down to the breakfast room. We had to be at home on time, because our keys did not work to the entrance door and the personnel was not staying over night, so late evening walk was impossible.

Staying in a riad in Fes Medina is like stepping into a hidden paradise where time stands still. The moment you cross the threshold from the lively, labyrinthine streets into the serene courtyard, you’re enveloped in an oasis of calm. The intricate zellige tilework, soaring cedarwood ceilings, and the gentle murmur of a central fountain embody Morocco’s rich craftsmanship and heritage. Many riads here are lovingly restored historical homes, blending authenticity with modern comforts—think plush linens, rooftop terraces with panoramic Medina views, and personalized hospitality that makes you feel like family What truly sets Fes’ riads apart is their ability to immerse you in the city’s soul. Mornings begin with the aroma of freshly baked msemen and mint tea, while evenings invite quiet reflection under starry skies, undisturbed by the buzz outside. The staff often go above and beyond, sharing insider tips on exploring the Medina’s hidden gems, from the vibrant Chouara Tannery to tucked-away artisan workshops. For travelers seeking a cultural deep-dive paired with tranquility, a riad in Fes isn’t just accommodation—it’s an unforgettable chapter of your Moroccan journey. Highly recommend for anyone craving authenticity, beauty, and a heartfelt connection to this ancient city , Thanks Said

I had a wonderful stay at this Riad in Fes. From the moment we arrived, Ali at the reception made us feel so welcome and taken care of. He, along with everyone else we met during our stay, was incredibly kind and attentive. The Riad itself was impeccably clean, and the staff was always ready to cater to any request we had, making sure we were comfortable at all times. One of the highlights was the stunning rooftop terrace, where we could relax and enjoy the views. The food was absolutely delicious. We dined there twice, trying different dishes each time, and I can honestly say it was the best meal we had during our stay in Fes (and we ate at several other places!). The flavors were incredible and the hospitality was top-notch. We also booked a guide to explore the old city of Fes, which was fantastic. However, we were a little disappointed with the guide for the area outside the city. Despite this, the Riad itself was simply amazing, with wonderful people and great food. Highly recommend it!

**A Magical Stay at Riad Sara in Fez** Our two-night stay at **Riad Sara** in Fez was absolutely enchanting! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the attentive staff, who made us feel at home right away. The riad itself is a stunning example of traditional Moroccan architecture, with beautifully intricate tilework, elegant courtyards, and a peaceful atmosphere that provided a perfect retreat from the bustling medina. Our room was spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated with authentic Moroccan details. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful sleep after days spent exploring the wonders of Fez. Breakfast each morning was a delightful experience—freshly baked bread, pastries, local jams, and traditional Moroccan mint tea, all served in the charming courtyard. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Riad Sara’s location is ideal—tucked away in a quiet part of the old city but still within walking distance of Fez’s famous souks, historical sites, and vibrant streets. Overall, our stay at Riad Sara was unforgettable. If you’re looking for a beautiful, authentic, and welcoming place to stay in Fez, this riad is an excellent choice.

While I was not planning to stay in Fes, I made a last minute one-day booking by looking at the reviews of Riad Sara. Although it was last minute, I asked them to heat the room before I arrived and they responded very quickly. When I arrived at the hotel, I was greeted with a warm room. Ali, Ibrahim and Said are the most helpful, pleasant to talk to, sincere and professional people you will ever meet in your life. Even though I had no plan and no idea about the city, Ali took his time to help me make a plan. The hospitality of the hotel is on another level. You will see friendly staff no matter what time it is. The rooms and the hotel itself are very clean and might be the most beautiful riad you will ever see. Don't miss breakfast because everything served tastes great. If the weather is nice, don't forget to spend time on the terrace and drink Moroccan tea. The location of the hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from the Blue Gate (Bab Bou Jeloud). It is outside the crowds of the medina but close enough to be in the medina in a short time if you want. There are guards on the street of the hotel 24 hours a day. So it is very safe. For all these reasons, I extended my 1 night visit to 2 nights. Everything was marvellous.

The hotel was conveniently located close to the Bab Bou Jeloud. The room was beautifully designed and had a bathtub. The breakfast was delicious as well. The room was clean, spacious, and had a fantastic ambience that made me feel right at home. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, with the pastilla being particularly superb. The location is perfect. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would highly recommend Riad Sara to anyone visiting Fes.

I loved everything, the location, decor, the terrace. Ali was an amazing host, helpful and spoke a lot of languages fluently. Every morning he served a lovely breakfast with eggs, tea, orange juice, fruits, and typical maroccan breads. Good location in the Medina, short walk from where a taxi can drop you off. Staff are lovely. They even prepared as breakfast to take with us as we were leaving early. Nice rooftop terrace. Bed were comfortable, not as hard as some we have had. The Riad is beautiful I put a pic up on Facebook view from my room page, nearly 800 likes and 90 comments.

Cons: We had a room on the ground floor, it was noisey when guests having breakfast and walking past. Also noisey if people in room above as you can hear them moving around.

Beautifully renovated riad with all the Moroccan elements all around the building. The room was big and the bathroom was also huge. Comfortable bed, aircond works very well for the hot summer in Fes. We didnt have enough time to take the breakfast due to early departure but the staff was kind enough to pack our breakfast for us to takeaway. Very kind and polite staffs in the riad. The Riad is located near the Batha, somewhat at the entrance of the Medina which is a good thing because it’s so easy to find and get there with big luggages.

It’s the most beautiful riad I stayed in Morocco. It’s so stunningly beautiful like a palace. Everythjng is perfect. Room is very nice and clean, huge, comfortable. Great value of money. It’s just a few minutes from the blue gate (entrance of medina). They even have restaurant and you can order dinner at night. The breakfast is the best I had in Morocco. I already recommended my friends whoever going to Morocco to come to this amazing Riad!!!!!!!

The property is beautiful. Ali (I believe that was his name, sorry) was wonderful and took very good care of us. We were met at the door, given tea and snacks and allowed to decompress from a long ride in a packed van. WONDERFUL!! The rooftop dinner was exceptional and I would highly recommend the Chicken Pastilla. It is an amazing dish that I would love to learn to make at home. As we had to leave before breakfast they made a take away for us so that we could eat on our way to the airport. They arranged transport for us to airport at a set rate of 20 Euros. The driver Hafed was very cordial, timely and helpful.

Cons: The AC was a bit lacking in the room as it never actually got as cool as we would have liked but it wasn’t unbearable. I will qualify this as we had just come from a 3 day trip in a packed van with lacking AC, so we had a constant “moist glow” and were ready to get our “Frigid” on so this assessment should be taken with perspective.

The staff were excellent. My flight arrived after midnight. The riad staff arranged an airport pick-up for me. The driver waited an extra long time because my baggage was lost. The staff who greeted me offered mint tea and biscuits. So nice after the trials of lost baggage declaration at the airport. While staying at the riad, the staff tried to help me get my bags. Royal Air Maroc was unreachable. In fact, almost two weeks later, I am home in Montreal and I still do not have my bags. Many thanks to the staff for trying. The riad has a beautifully decorated courtyard, lovely mosaics and a fountain. Excellent breakfast with lots of variety including cake. I had a very nice dinner of vegetable couscous one night. The riad also serves wine. A very nice touch if you are interested in trying Moroccan wine. My last morning, I left early for an overnight desert excursion. The staff very kindly provided a packed breakfast to take with me.

Cons: Unfortunately, the dessert I would have ordered at dinner needed to be ordered at least an hour in advance. I told the staff that I would like dinner at the riad that night. Others having dinner were all able to have the dessert I would have liked to try. I wonder why no one told me about the need to pre-order meal items since the other guests all seemed to know. The room was very cold. If there were any heating, it did not work.

The setup of the Riad is good and well maintained. The rooms are good size and the beds were comfy. It provides some good food sourced from local ingredients. Our host was very welcoming and made us feel at home. The A/C was bit noisy, but was immediately sorted out. Location is also good, the centre was just 3 minutes walk where you can find lots of taxis and so as the Medina. The shower pressure was excellent and so as the bathroom size.

Cons: Could have provided heating in the bathrooms.

Best riad in Fes ever! A few days before my arrival, I sent a message in booking to the riad to inform them of my 4am train arrival and was told that a staff would pick me up at a designated place. As promised, Ali picked me up at the main street, took my luggages, guided me to the riad and even served tea and delicious almond biscuits. Providing service in the wee hours of the morning is mind-blowing! The entrance gave us the WOW effect. We were greeted with traditional cookies and mint tea served on a silver platter, seated on the softest silky pillows, surrounded by amazingly beautiful Moroccan tiles. Serving people is a noble thing and Ali does it in such Royal manner. The way he was dressed and his hospitality, as well as knowledge and experience with guests and tourism, was remarkable… very polite young man! Attentive staffs. Good breakfast. Beautiful raid and courtyard, clean and large room, good value.

Cons: The private tour guide we booked through this hotel for 3 hour private tour of Medina was rude, aggressive, unprofessional, violent, and threatened my sister and I when we didn't want to follow his itinerary at his pace. We tried to emphasize that this tour is private and it should be at our own pace but rather he seemed to have his own plans to take us to shops and businesses. When I was videotaping the argument he had with my sister, he turned around hit my hand hard causing my phone dropped hard on the ground. And at the end of the 3 hour time, he asked us to pay him. We wouldn't pay and he threatened to take us to the police. We asked him to get the police over, and waited with him for 30 min, but turned out he didn’t call police. He was just trying to threaten us. Wasted 3 hour 30 min of our time on this private tour.

Really nice old house converted into guest house, with generous spaces. The building retains its old charm, so don't expect top notch 5 stars hotel-like premises, but this is what it makes it genuine. Staff is excellent. Food, service, cleaning, everything was great. Good knowledge of foreign languages. Common areas are quiet and lavishly decorated. Location is convenient, alley is quiet and pretty much clean. We traveled with a 14 months old baby, it was a great stay for us. Recommended. Good value.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the beautiful Riad Sara in Fes, Morocco and I must say, it was a truly exceptional experience. The Riad was simply stunning, with its traditional Moroccan architecture, intricate tilework, and elegant furnishings. The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated, with comfortable beds and luxurious linens. Each room had its own unique style and charm, with traditional Moroccan elements seamlessly blended with modern amenities. The staff at the Riad were also incredibly welcoming and hospitable, going above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. They were always available to provide recommendations for local sights and activities, and were happy to arrange transportation for me. The food at the Riad was also a highlight of my stay. The breakfast was simply delicious, with a variety of traditional Moroccan dishes and fresh-squeezed orange juice. The Riad's location in the heart of the Medina was also perfect, providing easy access to all of the local markets, restaurants, and cultural sights. Overall, I would highly recommend this Riad to anyone looking for an unforgettable stay in Fes. The beautiful accommodations, exceptional service, and delicious food made for an incredible experience that I will always remember.

Wonderful riad with an impressive architecture, spotlessly clean, rooms are spacious and bathrooms are really big, friendly and professional staff ready to satisfy all your needs, meals were exquisite, a real treat when breakfast is prepared to take away, and coffee served for a very early check-out. Highly recommended!

The riad looks amazing - a lot of details in how the building was renovated. It is close to the blue gate and the commercial part of the old medina. The staff were great. Ali picked us up from Place Batha where we were dropped off by our driver. He helped us to arrange the private transfer to Fes. When he knew we were trying to find a local guide, he offered to help. Given it was a short notice, he couldn't find a good one for us. Ali honestly told us so - this shows how much the staff in Riad Sara care about the quality of their service. Ali gave us a map of the old media and pointed out the popular attractions. He also told us what to watch out. Highly recommend Riad Sara.

Very beautiful and well maintaned Riad. The amount of artwork in ceilings and walls is fascinating, Ali in the reception was also excellent

Cons: There was some noise (ventilation) coming from the bathroom area which was stopped during quiet hours but noise level could be further improved

Staff was amazing especially Ali in person was amazing guy and very helpful. Breakfast was amazing too. Room was clean enough. But place kinda in old city but not really central. If it's your first trip you might get nervous when you walk at night.

Staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. Ali was exceptional, giving us directions, a map and advice on how to deal with scammers and taxi drivers. Bedroom felt very luxurious and breakfast was great.

Cons: Decor felt very dated and damaged in places but nothing to complain about considering the cost! Could do with an extension lead in each room for charging your phone as the ugs are up very high so as not to damage the decor.

quite central off Place Batha, close to the Blue Gate. the lane is well lit at night. the staff were friendly and helpful. breakfasts were wonderful, prompt, generous portions and changed items daily. it was a beautiful and very authentic Riad, with a gorgeous fountain courtyard, and lovely rooftop terrace.

Cons: the lane was dark in daytime

Beautiful elegant interior. In great location on quiet street but short walk of only a few minutes to the blue gate. Peace and calm of interior patio, a perfect place to sit and relax. Ali and other staff very welcoming and did everything to make me feel comfortable on arrival and also at breakfast (good breakfast too). Lovely spacious room decorated in local style. Excellent wifi signal. I have stayed in other places in Fez but I would definitely choose to stay here again.

It’s stunning! the courtyard is just beautiful and made me want to sit there for hours! I also slept really well! Ali and Ali were friendly and on hand for anything. They booked me a guide, Said, who took me on one of the best tours I’ve ever had of a city. The price of everything there was extremely reasonable! I had breakfast and dinner there too - thoroughly enjoyed both.

Cons: Im not sure I could’ve found it alone but Ali came to get me from Batha Square. He even walked me and another guest to the hammam you can book through the riad so we didn’t get lost.
