The place is really well designed, the double height ceiling, and open shower area to the room was really nice. Spacious room. The breakfast was really nice.We dined indoor and the place was heated and cozy. The place is deep in fes you need to be taken from the road to be able to reach other wise it's really hard to reach.
Cons: The bathroom is exceptionally small, but nothing to do about it. The staff needs to be a little more friendly and welcoming.

JUSTE EXCEPTIONNEL ! Good: The most beautiful building inside with a stunning rooftop. Parking is a short walk up the road - no problem. Bad: The dinner in the hotel was unfortunately very average and expensive. Having eaten tajine all week across Morocco, it was definitely the worst one we have had. All the food was very salty. I mentioned this to the staff but they were not interested. As soon as we checked in, whilst drinking tea, the hotel were pushing us to have dinner. They asked multiple times.

Excellent riad in the old city. Very friendly multilingual (Arabic, English and French) staff that can help with taxis and tours. Beautiful rooms with luxury touches (we had one on the top level with an open-air terrace and a wonderful view). The restaurant is excellent for breakfast and dinner. Highly recommended for those wanting a very nice place in the old medina.

Fantastic team who made our stay very comfortable and who were at hand to help us about anything. Nezha organised trips , our transfers, treatments and dinners and was always happy to help us on our questions. The team of waiters Meskine and Muhammad were also fantastic and gave great service all the time. The food was excellent and Chef Abdeljallili cooked the best tagines we have had in Morocco. The suite was very comfortable and the rooftop terrace was beautiful. The hamman team were lovely and we had great massages thank you.

The staff are outstanding. Othmane who helped us in all our enquiries and dinner and tour reservations. Imane the riad manager who greeted us every morning and ensured our stay at the road and the excursions were to our satisfaction. We had Yunis, Rida and Abdullah serving us. The riad is in the Medina and close to all the attractions. We had Chakib as our tour guide, highly recommend him. Born and bred in Fes, knows his way blind. Only way to do it is with this man. Tour to Meknes/Volubilis organised by the road and our driver Nordinne was excellent Breakfast and dinner in the riad. Really good food with fresh ingredients every day Did the spa and hammam and the ladies there did an exceptional job The rooftop terrace has outstanding views

The staff the amazing and very helpful. Went out of their way to help us and also arranged an excellent tour guide for us
Cons: The hotel quality does not match the price. The place should be at least half of what they currently charge. Thereâs no tv or a telephone in the room, nor is there room service. The amenities in the bathroom are terrible. Random shampoo and body wash in random unlabeled bottles. No toothbrush and hygiene products not packaged. No entertainment in the evenings either unlike their neighboring hotels which were so lively. The place was so dead already and on top of that they used to switch off the lights in the common areas after dinner too like itâs a shop and not a hotel. Inconvenient location. The staff was the only saving grace

Beautiful riad with modern interior decoration in the rooms but with traditional inspiration. We stayed in two different rooms each night of our stay due to availability and both were lovely. Our rooms felt very private. Breakfast was delicious. We didnât get chance to have dinner at the Riad but they were very accommodating to us bringing food from the local square to eat in the courtyard. Also great location for exploring the medina.
Cons: We were met at our taxi so not an issue on first arrival but just to note the entrance is not obvious.

It was a wonderful experience from start to finish! The location is perfect, just a stone's throw away from the vibrant souks, making it incredibly convenient to explore the area's cultural delights. What truly set this hotel apart was the staff; they were exceptional in every sense. Their attention to detail and eagerness to assist made our stay memorable. Each staff member went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. The room's unique decoration deserves a special mention. It beautifully captured the essence of the local culture while providing all the modern comforts you could wish for. This careful balance of tradition and modernity made the room not just a place to stay, but a part of the overall travel experience. I highly recommend for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the local culture with all the comforts of a luxurious stay. The superb staff and exquisite rooms are sure to make your visit unforgettable!

We were at Karawan Riad to celebrate a 50th birthday. Got there after a hectic 3 days in Sahara Desert. The Riad was truly our oasis. Our daughters were both exhausted from 3 days of driving. The staff at the Riad gave them unparalleled attention and took incredibly good care of them - even making them a lentil soup and rice. From the morning breakfast to booking us a guide to making reservations for us and accommodating our million requests - they did all with a smile. They even drove my brother to the pharmacy to pick up medicines. We took a cooking class at the Riad as well as the hamam and massages and it all made our trip special They even baked a cake for my sisters 50th birthday and set up a nice dinner for us The grounds are absolutely spectacular and the staff kind, considerate and caring. I have never stayed at a place and felt so royally treated. If we ever have a chance, we would go back to Karawan Riad

My room was spacious and from a designers point of view, the entire hotel was well designed, everything was well thought through, can't fault it. It was great having a proper hot shower!!! Breakfast was a feast worth writing home about, đ ...and also, nice pen too!
Cons: The floor near the shower got a bit wet as it was a wet space with a shower curtain but despite that, wish I could have stayed longer, alas! I only had one night in Fes.

5/5. Would highly recommend this Riad, the building is stunning and the rooms are finished to a very high standard, super comfy beds and our room had a private garden. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, even at 1am helping us with airport arrangements. Each morning we were given a brilliant local breakfast and had the choice of eating on the rooftop. The Riad is a short walk to the start of the medina but 15 minutes to the main part of the medina, this can be a little far at night but it was nice to not be in the centre of everything for the entire trip. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Outstanding service received by all staff both during the planning stages and also on site at the property. Really enjoyed the breakfast and dinner at the hotel. The hotel courtyard is just gorgeous and a site to behold. Very well located hotel for visiting the medina. Also, we booked a transfer and tour to Rabat following our stay through the hotel and the hotel did a great job with this - was an outstanding experience. Suhail Suite was beautiful and enjoyed the attached patio.
Cons: A/C in the room was a slightly underpowered and the room got a bit stuffy - servicing the unit would make the stay more enjoyable. Also, perhaps adding a bit more lighting to the room since it is at the ground level.

The place is old and run down. The wifi SUCKS and there's almost no light in the rooms. We had to use our iphone flashlights to make sure we had packed all of our belongings at check-out. The bathroom sink is so shallow we ended up splattering water everywhere every time we used it. Really dumb design. And there is NO SHOWER, only a bath with a tiny wand. And there are little steps all over the place for you to trip on. Most importantly, Karawan Riad was the only place in all of Morocco where we were made to feel unwelcome. There's just no heart in the place and no sense of hospitality or kindness. There are too many other wonderful places to stay. AVOID.

Honestly, one of the best hotels I've ever been to. They are super understanding and their customer service is like staying at the Four Seasons in Casablanca, superior service. I couldn't make it to my initial booking and they allowed me to change the dates and gave me a complimentary Royal suite when I came back for the day after, which I can say is beyond gorgeous. Two full bathrooms that are completely modern with RAIN SHOWERS (which I love) and many balconies overlooking the Riad and city. No words to describe. Even the upstairs master bath has a view to the whole duplex suite since it has glass walls on the second floor. Coming here was truly amazing, no other place like it.

I liked the hotel and its facilities as well as the services and cooperation of the staff. However, the only thing which made me disappointed is that I got deceived by the hotel manager who sold us Argan oil for MAD 1600 (1 litre) then we discovered that this oil is not the one dedicated for the skin care and its mainly used for cooking (orange color oil). Furthermore, we found that the price for the original oil intended for skin care is not exceeding MAD 400!!!

A really fabulous Riad with amazing attention to detail, wonderful furnishings and a great feel to the place. The location is ideal - very accessible, a short walk into the heart of the Medina - and has great views etc from the rooftop terrace. Great breakfast and attentive service too. Sometimes the concierges recommendations are overly cautious with a tendency to push you towards slightly touristy (and overpriced) restaurants. We would highly recommend Cafe Fes and the Ruined Garden neither of which they seemed to know anything about! Don't let this put you off though as it really is an excellent place to stay!

We spent two nights in Fes and this Riad was fantastic in everyway. The service was great. Since this Riad has no parking on the facility we thought that the logistics of getting luggage to our room and parking in some unknown area might be a problem but we were wrong. When we arrived in Fes we called the Karawan and they told us where to drive to and someone would be there in 5 minutes to pick up our luggage and another Karawan staff person would take us to the closest parking area and walk us to the Riad. It all worked seamlessly. The staff could not have been more accommodating. The rooms and common areas looked much better live than in the pictures. The rooftop deck was beautiful. We have traveled throughout the world and have stayed in some of the finest hotels and the Karawan was a unique and great experience for us.

This Riad is breathtaking in its beauty, especially at night with the lighting and the opening to the sky. The impression is that it has been lovingly restored and renovated. Magnificent columns rise into the air and are enhanced by the recessed lighting. The library room is a work of art in itself as well as each individual room. There is an attention to detail In the architecture. The music invoked a mood of Arabia whether in the past or present. The sky terrace has a magnificent view of Fes, especially at night. For those who are physically challenged, the steps to the room and terrace may be problematic. Rooms do not have telephones which make it difficult to obtain service. (We understand that there are plans to have telephones installed). And the service is what is most lacking and disappointing in this Riad. Other than a staff member named Oteman, we felt that the staff were poorly prepared and were not trained to be gracious to guests. On our last day, we had to wait for a tardy staff to come in to provide breakfast. Service was slow. If it were not for the service, we would have rated this Riad more highly.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The accommodations were well appointed and curated. Great attention to design and details. If I were to ask for anything it would be to have a small fridge in the room to keep water cold.

A stunning hotel with every detail beautifully thought out and presented. The staff, suite, and food were all first rate and this much needed oasis (after the hectic pace of Fez) was so wonderful I didn't want to leave. Highly recommended!

This hotel is unfinished, not clean, has terrible customer service, and horrible location.. I found something like salt or sand in my bed which indicates they are not changing the beds after every customer. There is no TV or telephone in the rooms. Rooms are decorated with furniture look like sub-Saharan Africa which is nothing to do with the local culture. There is no restaurant in this Riad.. They cook you food only if you tell them hours in advance.. Its entrance is in a dark garbage covered alley 500 yard walk from the nearest place a taxi can take you. If you go out after dark it will be very unsafe to come back to the hotel. If you are a 5 star customer find another hotel. If you are a backpacker then you found the right place (if you can afford this one.).

We just returned from an incredible vacation to Morocco and one of the biggest highlights was the spectacularly beautiful Karawan Riad! The Riad is a former palace which has been restored to its splendor with every detail in mind. While you feel like you are going back in time, there are many very modern touches throughout the Riad that make for a perfect stay. The view from the rooftop terrace overlooks the old Medina and is one amazing place to watch the sunset! The owners and staff are delightful people who are there to make your trip and stay more enjoyable in any way they can. We had some great conversations with them about the Riad and Morocco is general that gave us needed perspective on Fes in particular. They also provided us a historian/guide who took us around some of the 9,000+ streets in the Medina! In addition, the owners help us setting up a car and driver to some nearby sights, including Volubilis, all the way to Casablanca. We travel often internationally and domestically and can confidently write that Karawan is one of the most beautiful and unique accommodations I've ever had. I can't recommend it enough!

This is a classically beautiful Riad with a modern feel. The level of detail and design that has gone into creating this masterpiece is truly sensational and the owners deserve huge praise for the effort they have clearly put in. The staff are lovely and will go above and beyond to help you - always with a smile - one in particular was fantastic (and I apologise - I think the name sounded like Zebbi?) - his enthusiasm was appreciated and endearing. The room is modern and was just what we needed after a number of days on the road. This Riad is a relief to come back to after a busy day at the markets. Rooftop terrace has a great view and the library has a fabulous collection of books and other items. Would highly recommend staying here to anyone. We ate at the restaurant and also had lunch prepared. The lunch was absolutely sensational - top class cuisine here.
