We couldn’t recommend this place more. They go above and beyond to make sure you have the best stay, including booking taxis for you, and recommending local restaurants and spa treatments and will give you the directions to get there too. Omar and Reda deserve a special shoutout. The location of this riad is perfect, off of the main road and away from the souks but close enough to walk everywhere. The hotel itself is a complete safe haven and calming place in what can be the chaos of Marrakech at times Doors are locked and entry only permitted by ringing the bell and waiting for hotel staff to let you in; no public allowed.

Cons: We didn’t always have hot water

Location was great, a short walk from the souks and other locations that we visited. Our hosts were most helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was good and we also ate in one evening with a delicious terrine dish. There are shops and less touristy eating places nearby.

The Riad was wonderfully located. Greeted with warmth and mint tea! The staff were so helpful with some last minute bookings and transportation. We were appreciative of all of their work and care particularly in arranging a very comfortable and affordable transfer to Casablanca. The Riad was beautiful and felt safe. Rooms were comfortable.

Everything about my stay here was great, especially Omar and staff. Location was perfect: in the Medina near everything but not in the middle of everything so very peaceful and quiet. Even better, unlike many Riads in the Medina, taxis are able to come right up to the front door. Breakfast was fabulous: sitting on the rooftop terrace, watching the sunrise while enjoying a freshly prepared meal was fantastic. Room was huge and exactly as pictured on the website.

Personal siempre dispuesto a ayudar y instalaciones limpias.

We stayed at Road Dar El Assafir for 5 nights (October 2025). The Riad is out of the city centre a bit.. on a quiet well lit street (but still within the city walls) It’s about a 15 min walk to the main square. The Riad has beautiful traditional architecture & greenery. We enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable & cleaned daily, fresh towels when needed. The daily breakfast included was great (warm bread & jam/honey, yoghurt, coffee, juice, pancakes, omelette) and we had a favourite table by the pool. The Riad was quiet except the birds wake up call about 7am. The best thing by far about Assafir are the staff. We must give shout out to Omar and Rida, who were exceptional & couldn’t do enough for us, making us VERY welcome, we felt at home! Rida’s mum, Racida prepared the lovely breakfast & all the staff were smiley, friendly and welcoming.

Cons: A couple of times the shower was cold early morning (due to solar panel heating system)

Very peaceful especially considering its position within the medina - convenient for the sites but still managed to be quiet , not easy. The rooms were clean comfortable and full of character as was the whole Riad , lovely cool areas to sit in when sitting around the pool gets too hot . We could not fault the staff who were friendly and helpful without being intrusive .Our son had previously visited and had recommended it and we weren’t disappointed.

We stayed here three times for a total of seven nights over a period of two weeks in Sep 2025. This is a quiet Riad, surprisingly so given its proximity to major roads within the north-western medina. Exceptional staff with fantastic command of English (as well as French, Spanish and how many more? 😁). They gave us great recommendations for visits and restaurants. Great breakfast, great pool, excellent Aircon in rooms. Clean, spacious and welcoming. Rooms are set around two open squares: one with the pool and the other a garden with aviary (where breakfast is served). Service was excellent. WiFi good coverage. They kindly looked after our suitcase while we set off back-packing to other areas / cities for a few days. Close enough for walking (20 minutes) into the main square and (30 minutes) to the Yves St Laurent museum. It is in a great location. We will certainly stay here again if we come back to Marrakech.

Cons: Can't think of anything significant to mention.

This was the most gorgeous property we stayed at in our time in Morocco. The courtyard and garden were stunning and the service was amazing. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The property is in a good location. About a 12 minute walk to the main market. The ambiance inside was lovely. Beautiful greenery and birds. There is a pool but we didn't use it. This is the perfect oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh. Myself and my 14 year old daughter were welcomed and genuinely looked after. From the moment we arrived Omar & Zayden looked after us and gave the best tips and advice. Nothing was ever too much and service was 5*. Our room was huge and had everything needed to make our stay perfect. I'll never forget opening the antique doors on to the courtyard each day. Breakfast was just perfect with freshly squeezed OJ and home made pancakes! I felt very special each morning to have the table already dressed and waiting for us. The property is perfectly positioned to be so close to all the main sights without being in the hustle of it all. Restaurants and shop within walking distance and close to the airport too. Very accessible for taxi and is 4 minutes walk to plenty of restaurants and shops but not close to any direct loud location. The road is split into two sections with two beautiful patios, one with a small swimming pool as the other with songbirds in a large cage, hence the name "Assafir" (songbird). We had room no 6, which was located on the 1st floor, and plenty of room and privacy in authentic scenery. The staff was helpful as the first arrival to the Medina might be confusing. Breakfast is typical local and is sweet.

Cons: For a late wake-up person, it will get noisy from all the birds singing in the early morning - very noisy. The bathroom could have been more maintained - the toilette seat is not fixed to the floor, but I understand it could be typical...

It felt like an oasis of calm in busy Marrakesh! Pleasant smell of orange flowers, tranquil sounds of small waterfalls and chirping of the birds and wonderful staff. Everyone was so attentive and caring, in particular, Omar, who gave excellent insights and helpful advice about sightseeing. I visited for 4 nights and was hosted by Omar and Rida, along with the other staff. The place was very close to the medina and the staff go above and beyond to help you. They helped with taxi booking and finding different places to explore. They were really friendly and made our stay amazing. The riad itself was also very beautiful and peaceful to relax at. I would definitely recommend.

Cons: Riad is easy to find so I’d book my own transport from airport in future as they forget to send a taxi and I was waiting a while ( taxi have fixed price from airport so easy to book once there), but the service once I got there was amazing and they where able to arrange a taxi for me to head back to airport and even let me leave my bags at the place until my flight.

The room is very spacious. Parrots are kept in a nice environment. The courtyard is very green.

Cons: Comfort - The bed was sunken in the middle; the shower had very little water -- barely enough for showering (we reflected to the host but no measures were implemented); the room was filled with a chloride smell (possibly because of the swimming pool); Safety: Although nothing was stolen from us, but signs were hang everywhere saying they're not responsible for anything stolen outside of the safe. Reading reviews after our stay: so many people were stolen! Unbelievable. Service - Being charged for a bottle of water provided without saying it is on our cost. Asked us to pay when we're ready to leave with all our luggage outside of the gate. -- This is not an enjoyable stay.

Beautiful riad, such a calm space in chaos of the city. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The staff also are so friendly and kind, they really helped us when my partner was unwell, brought tea etc. The breakfast on the roof terrace is also very nice. There are stairs, as with all the riads we stayed in Morocco. We had our own UK car with us and their parking is great. It is as close as you can get really to the old part of the Medina with a car, but down a quiet side street so very private. If anyone is doing a driving trip to Morocco (or just looking for a nice riad) I would happily recommend this one.

Location was excellent: quiet area, 10-15 minutes walk to the centre and hustle bustle. Breakfast was good but some variety was desirable. When we requested, they complied. Rida and his mother took excellent care of us. Rida was most considerate and guided us very well on everything from buying mobile accessories, to site seeing, eating places, exchanges, routes, etc and especially saving us from scams. We took 3 rooms for the family. Our children had a fantastic suite on the ground floor. He made the evening lounge accessible for our family and made us feel at home. Jibril, the manager, was most considerate on all our requests, be it drinking water or ironing. The greenery in the Riad is fantastic. I just wish that they kept the swimming pool clean all the time.

Cons: Rooms were generally quiet but the parakeets wake up early and the chairs being dragged around on the terrace at breakfast time would wake anybody up. While Rida was wonderful, the other gentleman who serves the customers in the Riad was obnoxious and rude and had an attitude problem. We preferred to deal with Rida. The room we were in was very shoddy - requires upkeep and maintenance, for e.g. fittings/ door handles falling off. The shower gel was not very nice and you had to request for refill every day.

Riad itself is very beautiful, inside garden, pool, perfect location and parking next to riad available for free. Me and my mom we were so happy that we chose this place. Stuff were so friendly and helpful

..however I was robbed in this Riad!

Cons: Our stay ended bad, someone stole money from my wallet. It was very last morning, we packed our stuff into the luggage and the last time we went upstairs on the terrace to have breakfast right before check out. So we felt so secure and comfortable in this Riad that we left our bags with passports and wallets on the dresser (since it was very last 30 minutes of our stay we thought nothing will happen). Apparently, during this 20-30 mins we were having breakfast, the money was taken. I noticed when we stopped to fill out the gas an hour later after we left the Riad. Thanks god I didn’t have a lot of cash on me, however, they took almost everything, they left a few bills so I wouldn’t notice right away that money was taken. I went to police and now there’s ongoing investigation
I will not point fingers who stole the money, but the point of my review is to protect other travelers.. so please be careful, do not lose your vigilance. Do not leave your stuff (money, documents, jewelry) outside of safe deposit box. Thank you

We booked this so we could meet up with our husbands who were touring Morocco on their bikes. We arrived quite late but Reda was there to meet us. He confirmed that the motorbikes could be stored in the garage, safe parking was important for us. Reda always insisted on carrying luggage and was always on hand to help. When we had breakfast on the roof terrace we met Omar who again could not do enough to help. The pool area is lovely and the whole place had a really calm feeling. After the madness of the Medina it was always lovely to come back to our little oasis. The breakfast was lovely and Omar & Reda were happy to serve us wine or beer by the pool. Reda’s Mum also worked at the Riad and all the ladies were also lovely. It was like staying with a family. We all loved it and would definitely stay there if we visit Marrakech again. Highly recommended.

Very nice and authentic atmosphere where you can truly experience the riad culture. The staff, especially Omar and another whose name I can’t recall, were extremely pleasant and helpful. Beautiful building. Amazing Moroccan architecture with beautiful végétation in the inner courtyards. Lovely spacious bed room with beautiful wall decorations and Moroccan style furniture. Big bathroom. Lovely Moroccan tiled style swimming pool in centre courtyard. Really friendly and helpful staff (Reda and Omar were great and made us feel so welcome).

Cons: On arrival the entrance was not welcoming. We though we were at the wrong address or that it was someone's house. We were almost tempted to leave as the area around did not initially look great. The door was locked and we had to ring a bell and wait for someone to answer. This, was also a bit disconcerting. But once inside it was like an oasis. In terms of the Riad standard and quality, while the Riad is magnificant, it is old and tired and in real need of some simple spring cleaning and freshening up. Broken floor tiles everywhere, ragged carpets, dusty lanterns, bath surround old and badly patched up, etc. While some of this added a little to the charm and feel of Marrakech , the quality did not justify the price, which in comparison to many other Riads was very high. We decided to treat ourselves based on the 9.4 score on booking and we' were therefore expecting a high standard of accommodation but the reality was well below 7. Not sure why guests are scoring so high. We are easy going and very compromising but I was quite disappointed that I paid well over the odds and didn't get what we expected based on the 9.4 score and review comments. I suspect most guests scored high because of the staff rather than the quality of accommodation. I was also very disappointed with the breakfast which was the same everyday. I expected to have lovely fresh fruit, olives dates etc.so typical of Morocco but one fried egg, 1 small pancake, 1 small potato cake, 1 yogurt, bread, jam, coffee or tea (no refills). All perfectly acceptable in a lower rated Riad but not for 9.4 and not at the price we paid. We also needed a gluten free breakfast for 1, and advised the hotel in advance but this was not provided for despite being told it would. So the breakfast was even less value for money. Location is within 15 to 20 mins walk of the main square in the Medina and very safe. Overall location was good.

Dar el Assafir is a fine and handsome riad, managed by Jibril, Reda, his mother Rachida and the gentle Omar. All of them will be able to satisfy any problem you may have. The riad is located 10 minutes by feet from Koutoubia mosque and Place Jemaa al fna in the old city. Most attraction of Marrakech are within 40 minutes by feet, 15 minutes by taxi. The rooms are large and comfortable, furnished as you expect by a tipical riad. Breakfast is tasty and plenty with tea, coffee, fresh orange juice, eggs, bread, butter, marmalade, cheese, crepes and moroccan pancakes. If you will choose this riad, you will feel as at home.

We loved the traditional architecture. It was great listening to the birds in the courtyard. The whole place was very atmospheric. The Riad also has a roof terrace from which we enjoyed beautiful sunsets! The staff were extremely helpful. In the height of Summer the pool would be great to cool down in. The location was ideal, it is in a very quiet area. It only took 10 minutes to walk to the souks. Plus there is a great Artisan Centre just around the corner.

Cons: I really loved everything however If you have a gluten intolerance, breakfast can be a bit limited. Had fried eggs and yoghurt, hence i brough my own GF wraps. About a 10 minute walk away is a Carrefour with a whole Gluten Free selection. The first bottle of water was complimentary, however additional ones you had to pay for. They were cheaper to buy outside the Riad.

We absolutely loved the Riad Dar El Assafir. It is a beautiful, calm oasis in the centre of Marrakesh and had everything we needed - our room was spacious and comfortable with a huge bathroom and an outside seating area. We stayed 8 days with 2 kids in this wounderful Riad which is itself worth a trip to Marrakesh. The little pool surrounded by plants and trees, the birds, the little pavillion and many places to sit and relax in a calm and cozy atmosphare. The roof terrace and the cozy fireplace room provide further comfort and distraction from the hectic city outside. We had as well dinner in the Riad which I can highly reconnend- best Tanjine we had in Marrakesh! But this Riad would only be half so nice if there were not Omar, Reda, his Mum and Jibril who are a benchmark in hospitality and your local family, helping you out where ever possible. Overall a great experience and we hope to be back one day!

Cons: That we had to leave after 8 days ...

Location, staff, beautiful inner part of the riad.

Cons: Furniture was not clean. Some kind of stains on the bed cover. Breakfast was a joke. It was basically bread (2 pieces per person) with jam. Had to go and ask for some eggs or something, was offered an omelette. Got 1 baked egg.

The Riad is beautiful. The garde/pool area is very peaceful and a good escape from the busy Medina. It is walking distance to the Medina. It was quiet and we felt safe. The staff was very helpful, they even provided an earlier breakfast at 6am for us before departure. The pool was clean. The bathroom is private and the toilet/shower is separated so when you shower you do not wet everything (like in some other traditional Riads).

Cons: We loved the property. No complaints.

Great location, on the edge of the Madina. There is parking right outside, which is unusual. I was able to park my motorcycle in the garage. The staff were friendly and attentive.

Cons: The breakfast was not great, for the price the owner needs to improve this. There are many riads in the city to choose from, most in my experience provide a higher quality breakfast.

The staff went above & beyond to make sure I was fully looked after & felt safe in the wake of the devastating earthquake (the city is very, very safe & all debris etc has been tidied.) The location of the Riad is wonderful - 10mins maximum to get to the Medina/restaurants via foot - and everything was clean, comfortable & I was provided with all of the basic amenities. As a solo, female traveller, I couldn't have felt more looked after & appreciated all of the advice, guidance, tips & the sense of family that was often shared with me. Special shout out to Omar for being the most wonderful human being I've interacted with in hospitality in a long time :) Highly recommend to all!

Cons: As the rooms are quite dark, aesthetically, I would have liked lighter furniture & decoration which would have made the rooms feel a lot bigger. But this is a personal preference :)

Omar is wonderfully welcoming: as are all the staff. The Riad is beautifully maintained with original features up to 400 years old. Located in the heart of the old area, and despite being so close to centre, it is remarkably tranquil. The birds song from the garden dining space, the gentle waves of the the pool and the adorably friendly house cat ensure a peaceful start to the day; with visits to the Old Market, City centre and Koutoubia Mosque within easy walking distance.

The riad gives off a living within the nature vibe, that is because trees and plants are abundant inside the property. We were also told that the name means 'House of birds' because they have house birds and you hear them all through out the day. The breakfast was basic but we appreciate that they put their heart into cooking and serving it for us. I love the mint tea. The pool is also a special area for us specially with the temperature when we had our holiday.

Cons: I can't recognise any negative things as I truly enjoyed our privacy and stay.

After I bought mine. There is no airport shuttle and no restaurant in the premises. Very basic. Certainly not a 4 star hotel just a basic guest house. Except the location. This is the most beautiful riad and we had a wonderful few days here even in 44 degrees. It has two beautiful courtyard gardens and a pool so after the souk it was the perfect place to relax. It's only a ten minute walk from the main square but very peaceful and secluded. Omar and Jibril and all the staff are so attentive and kind organising taxis if we needed them, an excursion to the Atlas Mountains and a trip to the hammam. Jibril's mother cooked an amazing tagine for us one night too which we ate beside the courtyard birds. We absolutely loved Marrakech even in the heat and this riad added so much to the experience.

The hotel is down an alley and the door is always locked so you feel secure. So Someone has to let you in. Jibrel is the hotel manager and very friendly. He is very well dressed and accommodating. Omar the 2nd in command is the absolute BEST. He goes over and beyond to make you feel welcome and answer all your questions. As soon as you arrive you get your tea and cookies that are yum. You get that the whole time during your stay. Omar gave me directions no matter where I was going. Reda is the one who does EVERYTHING! He takes your luggage, he brings you tea or towels. He calls and confirms my excursions and taxis. He went shopping with us so U could find everything I needed. He is all around hardworking and hardworking individual. You can ask him for anything. Reda’s mom works at the hotel as well as the cook and to help clean the rooms. You do not want to miss her breakfast! Also if you want a true Moroccan home made meal Reda’s mom, Rarida is an excellent cook! One night instead of going out for dinner to a restaurant, we stayed in and had her dinner. Omg it was better than some restaurants and not expensive at all. There is a beautiful pool when you walk in that you can go swimming in. There are many other rooms to eat breakfast or dinner. The rooms are obviously Moroccan style that are beautiful. There is no TV in the room, but you’re on vacation you should be out and about. A very good size room with lots of space. You can ask for an iron to use. The location is perfect to go sight seeing and shopping! A lot of shopping and variety of restaurants. I bought so much stuff. Plus all my excursions that were so different and once in a lifetime experience. For the type of service we received, there is no doubt to recommend staying here. Omar and Reda made you feel like family.

A little oasis of calm from the bustling Medina and city. Omar and Redir made our stay, with excellent service and courtesy. The location is 10 mins walk to the Square and outside the walls so can be accessed by taxi. A lovely Moroccan breakfast, and we availed of one evening meal which was great. There are a couple of nice hotels nearby also for dinner, ATM etc. The Riad can supply wine if required. I know it’s a Muslim country and conscious of their sensibilities, but their Moroccan white wine is delightful. Was sorry to leave.

Riad Dar El Assafir is a lovely, simple riad in the heart of Marrakech. Inside its walls, a beautiful interior garden provides a cool, peaceful and quiet place of rest for travelers who are a bit overwhelmed by the crowds and heat of Marrakech! The bedroom was really large, and the bed was really comfortable.

We stayed here for a week in February. Summary: highly recommended. We were well looked after by all the staff and especially Omar was very helpfully with advice and great recommendations. Reda got the huge telly going for us to watch a movie on amazon prime (their account). Very filling breakfast and well accommodating. We appreciated being able to sunbathe on the roof terrace. When the temperature was low we were kept warm by the warm fires in lounge and breakfast rooms. Enjoyed having baths and having air conditioning in the room. Very peaceful considering the central location, only about 10-15min walk from the main square and many attractions.  They organise airport transfer for a better price than the average. The property is beautiful, however, we were most impressed by the friendliness and hospitality of the staff. The property itself is decorated with Moroccan style, which we love. we were very comfortable in both our private room and the common areas.

A delightful Riad - a haven of peace and tranquility in the busy and vibrant Medina. The lush gardens and sound of birdsong creates a calm, shaded and relaxing environment - whilst the roof terrace offers all day sunshine. Traditionally furnished - our room was spacious, with a seemingly endless supply of hot water for the huge bath, and an extremely comfortable bed. The Riad has a beautiful layout and is well situated just outside of the Medina, yet very central and in a quiet neighborhood. Its decour and interior design is very typical and when you enter the Riad you dive into a peaceful and quiet world, away from all the hustling and bustling of the city. There are two patios inside. One with a pool and a nice pavillon and one with an aviary (birds) and many plants. Everything is very lush and green and there was always a scent of orange blossom in the air. The rooms are also very nice - spacious, very comfortable, clean and aesthetically decorated. The breakfast was simple but good. Always fresh orange juice, coffee, tea, yogurt, bread, a changing variation of pancakes, croissants or local specialities as well as different spreads (jam, cream cheese etc.). It would have been nice to also get some fresh fruit (apples, bananas, clementines etc.) and perhaps some amlou (typical Moroccan almond spread). That would have made the breakfast perfect. Overall we had a wonderful stay and felt very well taken care of. Most of all because of the great services of Jabril, the cleaning lady and Omar. Omar was always there for us when we needed him - whether it'd be in the morning for breakfast or during the day. He is a very nice, friendly and helpful guy and it was always nice to have a chat with him.

Cons: Sometimes there was an unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom/toilet. I believe it has nothing to do with the cleanliness of the place, but with the sewer system of those older buildings. I noticed it in different accommodations all over Morocco.

I recently stayed at a hotel that was nothing short of high class and high quality. From the moment we arrived, the staff made sure we felt welcomed. The check-in process was great and the staff even helped with our suitcases. They reserved a special space for our car which was really helpful. The room itself was spacious and had a great smell. The towels were clean and fresh and everything was well taken care of. We felt like we were at home thanks to the staff, who were incredibly kind and went above and beyond to make us feel good and important. They really tried their best to make sure we had a good stay. The breakfast was outstanding and I would like to mention Omar who went out of his way to organize lunch for us on the day of check-out. We didn't feel rushed or pressured to leave quickly. The hotel was in a great location in the center of Morocco, which made it easy for us to go around and see the sights. It was a chill and comfortable place to stay, I highly recommend it. The Riad is a dream. The receptionist ist such a heartwarming and welcoming host. It's a short drive from the airport and easy accessible by car (they organized a shuttle for us). The area is super qiet and save. It's only a 10 minute walk to the medina. The breakfast is typical Moroccan and a lot and very delicious. It was a little chilly in the morning and they proactively set up a heater next to our table so that I didn't feel cold. Beds were comfortable and the shower warm and with good pressure. The bathroom was en suite, spacious and separated from the room by a real door.

Cons: It's not very sound-proof but it's a thing with all the riads I guess - if you are sensitive to noise at night better bring some eat plugs :)

The garden and poolside of the riad were absolutely amazing. The breakfasts were nice and the staff kind. Our room had a wonderful lace ceiling - like a palace.

Cons: The room had very few sockets, so we couldn't charge all our devices at once during night time. The room was also quite dark, but that's understandable and what we saw in many riads. The bathroom seemed a bit worn out - a taped switch on the wall, the shower head could not be fixed to the wall, an ancient-looking blow-drier and it was really nowhere to plug it.

Thank you! We had a wonderful stay. We loved our room, the layout of the hotel - build around garden courtyards and a pool - but, most importantly, the staff were so welcoming, kind and helpful. Free parking was available outside. Driving in Marrakesh is certainly not for the fainthearted, but what an adventure! We were recommended and had a wonderful dinner in a hotel around the corner called Hotel Arabe. Great introduction to Morocco. Thank you.

Two friends and I have just spent a wonderful few days in Marrakesh, based in this Riad. We shared the 3 bedroom apartment which was perfect for all our needs, clean, lots of individual space, plenty linen and great service. Jibril in particular could not have been more helpful, a couple of times we literally don’t know what we’d have done without him to sort us out. We highly recommend everything about this place. Thank you to everyone. Julianne Duncan, Scotland

The greatest asset of this establishment. They were all so welcoming and helpful, making strangers to this area feel at home. It would be wrong to single anyone out as they were all equal from the Manager to the young maid and all inbetween. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was plentiful and well cooked thanks to Rashida's skills and good humour.

Cons: Changing sheets after I had bled on them after slipping on bath. The bathroom plumbing had a slight smell.

Very nice Riad walking distance from the Medina. The owners are very helpful and accomodating (e.g. when we asked for a late breakfast it was no problem)

Cons: Rooms and bathrooms could be cleaned a bit more thoroughly.

Lovely peaceful Riad 10 minutes walk from the main square and souks. A great hideaway with a nice little pool and feeling of quiet. Rooms was comfy and clean. Breakfast was delicious.

Cons: Some of facilities in the room did not work - notably the AC - although didn't matter too much to us could be worth checking.

The place is just beautiful! Very tranquil and comfortable. Our room was very big and the bed was large and nice.Xxx. It is just on the edge of town, just away from the madness and easy to find. We had a very good breakfast every morning with fresh orange juice. It also houses a very lucky cat. I enjoyed the odd cat cuddle when he let me.

Cons: There is nothing not to like.

Absolutely beautiful Raid with a beautiful courtyard and authentic Moroccan decor . The photos don’t do justice to how beautiful this place is in reality. The location was perfect and very close to the centre . The staff was incredible and their service was excellent. The breakfast was delicious and they made sure to sometimes serve us breakfast earlier than the mentioned time during days when we had to leave early for the day trips.

The Riad is absolutely gorgeous, peaceful and quiet. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and the bed is super comfortable too. The Riad is very well located - within walking distance to most places of interest. The staff is extremely nice and attentive, always with a smile and happy to help. Pro tip: Do not miss out on Rachida’s cooking. Each dinner she prepared was in fact a feast - cooked with love and care - displaying a variety of authentic Moroccan cuisine.

Cons: Everything was perfect and exceeded my expectations, nothing wrong.

This place is your must go to if you visit Marrakech for the first time and want to pause a little bit from the hectic, touristy squares in central Marrakech. We enjoyed breakfast every morning here before heading out for a day adventure and the lovely homecooked meals that we got at this Riad. Just remember to book it in advanced with the team in the morning. Overall, the staff here is so sweet, kind and very serviceminded!

We had an authentic Riad experience living at this property in marrakech. The courtyards with plants, bird aviary and swimming pool as well. the staff were friendly and served us a great breakfast overlooking the courtyard. I had booked 2 rooms here. one for myself and one for my senior parents. when I arrived I was given 2 rooms on the first floor. since this was a riad, there are no elevators and a windy staircase to go upstairs. this did not suit my parents as negotiating lugagge and stairs was not an option. at first they told me there was no downstairs room available. then I called the manager. He would not refund me my money, stating where will he get a booking at this late hour. but did offer me one ground floor suite for my parents, for an extra 100 E for the 2 days. This room was much much better. with an upgraded bathroom. so we took it. my advice make sure to specify you want ground floor or first floor rooms when you book. we had no issue with the plumbing. but furniture and rooms could be updated a bit for this property.

The Riad is unbelievably beautiful. It's an oasis from the chaotic streets nearby. The location is at approximately 10 minutes walking from the main square and market areas, which I thought was a good distance. I would not have wanted to stay in the medina. It is old, so the bathrooms are a little rustic, but, the rest of the facility makes up for it. Breakfast is great and is included. Friendly staff.

We had a lovely time at Riad dar el Assafir. The proprietor was extremely accommodating to our requests and needs. Our only minor complaint is that the wifi did not work in the Apartment area we rented. But kitchen staff were wonderful and the building is charming. It's great to be close to the Medina but not lost in the mazes of the souks. Would recommend!

The hotel is situated slightly off the main hustle and bustle, which is good as everything still is at walking distance. The hotel was empty during our stay so somewhat a bit too quiet and the small pool is not useful in winter months. Staff is very friendly and helpful. May be slightly over priced as well.
