While perhaps not the most swanky or modern hotels, this family run riad was the most welcoming of the hotels we stayed at in Marrakech, with more of a B&B vibe than a traditional hotel. If you are looking for comfortable, fuss free base to explore Marrakech from, this is ideal. Caveat: the room doors were not the most secure and there is no safe in the room, but there are so few guests, and the riad is constantly manned with the front door locked, so we didn't feel that security was an issue.

Welcoming Riad, in the middle of Medina. Quiet somehow. Not easy taxi access, so we did walk with our luggages through the medina. Walking distance to souk and bahia palace, and all the other attractions. We stayed only one night, but i would recommend if you want to have a flavour of the old medina.

Cute little find in the heart of Morocco! I've never stayed at a riad before, but the hosts were super welcoming and accommodating. The only downside of the stay was the bathroom. The water kept fluctuating from super hot (I burned my hands when washing them once) and super cold when I showered. The water pressure was also really low which made it a bit difficult to shower but other than that, it was a great place and beautiful! The location was a bit alarming at first but we ended up feeling super safe!

Our stay was great from start to finish. Elias welcomed us with tea and made sure we started to relax straight away. We had questions, he had the answers.we had just to say what we needed and he organised it for us. I also highly recommend the hammam and massage provided in the property. The 2 ladies who looked after us with breakfast were so lovely 😍 Oh and the dinner we had at the property was the best Tajine 👌 in all 7 days in Marrakesh. I would highly recommend a stay with Elias and the team.

Our stay at Riad Elias was very good. The owner/ manager was very welcoming and friendly. The room was clean and spacious. The sun deck on the roof was great for getting away from the hustle and bustle of the Medina for a bit of sun and relaxation. The breakfast was delicious and very comprehensive. All staff were extremely helpful. The location of the Riad is good with a 5 minute walk to the Jemaa el-Fnaa square and very close to lots of the markets and souks. The bed in the room was extremely hard but did not take away from the sleep quality to be honest. When you check in, you are given a key for the room but not for the front door of the Riad so you are reliant on knocking and a member of staff to let you in. Overall, the Riad oozes the Marrakesh culture and Charm. It is stunning once inside and I would 100% stay again if returning to Marrakech. We had an issue with the shower not working correctly which was quickly resolved by the staff which was great.

Very well centred riad in the heart of Marrakech. The riad is located quite close to most of the city attractions and can be easily reached via foot. The host/staff, everyone was very lovely and welcoming. The owner gave us tips on how to get around and to avoid getting scammed which helped us since it was our first time visiting Marrakech. Overall very pleasant stay, sad to be back to reality 😭😭

Great location in the heart of the old town (Medina) area of Marrakesh. Easy walk to the Souks and lots of the nearby attractions. The old town is a bit of a maze, but google maps led me right to the alley leading to the Riad. Riad was beautiful inside - a nice calm respite from the busy world all around. Very kind and helpful staff. Breakfast was enjoyable. Would absolutely stay here again.

We could not recommend this as a place to stay - Great location and was easy to walk around, close the food restaurants. loved that we could decide when we have breakfast! Also as a VIP we were offered a traditional hammam, which was lovely and the massage which was paid for, as one of the best I have had! The Hotel manager was personable and was approachable and catered to our needs.

It was an incredible stay in Marrakech. The location is amazing in the heart and bustle of the Madina. The proprietor Said was always their taking care of every need even late at night. This is an authentic Riad experience through the ally ways of the Madina and a few mins walk to Jamaa-Elfna. Call Said before you get there and he will send somebody to help you with the bags. The staff are so friendly and the rooms are authentic and very comfortable and very clean. The rooftop setting is wonderful to hang out on during the cool Marrakech evenings with nice sofas and tables. All in all I highly recommend it. We stayed 4 nights.

Saïd and the family were so welcoming and friendly from our first minutes in Morocco. Being our first time, the whole crew was so knowledgeable and informative about where the best places to go/avoid were to ensure we were safe and had fun. Extremely accommodating to all of our food and dietary needs, and even brought us a fruit bowl on our last morning. Beautiful setting with gorgeous pool in the middle, where everyone was friendly and hung out in the common areas. Such a fun time exploring the different cultures and learning from the natives. The Riad is in a fantastic location in the center of the city, but with enough privacy to still feel safe coming home at the end of the night. You truly feel like family staying here, and the whole experience is individualized to meet your needs. Will definitely be back again to see the lovely city of Marrakesh and would never stay anywhere but our home away from home, the Riad Elias

Riad Elias is a beautiful place, clean and peaceful, but it was spoilt by our frosty welcome. Said wasn’t there when we arrived at 7.30pm (we are a group of 6 middle aged women) but his wife was, and ushered us to sit in the lounge area. When Siad arrived 10 mins later, we asked to see our rooms and he insisted that we eat first as his wife had been up since 7.30am. We explained we had been travelling and needed to freshen up so he reluctantly showed us our rooms. We had booked junior suites so each room should have had a single bed and a double bed - only one room had this. Again he was very grumpy with us, told us that he couldn’t do anything about it that evening. Dinner was delicious but the atmosphere was somewhat spoilt. He continued to be argumentative with us until the last day, we weren’t sure if it was because we were travelling as a group of women without a male usher or because we had just got off to a bad start. Great location, clean, tidy and the ladies who made and served our breakfast were simply delightful.

This place was located 15 min walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa, which was really nice. The place looked nice and everything. The beds are hard and the walls are very thin. You can hear everything. The owner on the other hand seemed a little scammy. He would be helpful and Mr. Nice guy but there were questionable moments. One moment being when we were leaving, we spent 80 MAD to get there from the airport but to go back with HIS taxi driver at 5am was 200 MAD. This man was forcing us into the “insurance” and bigger vehicle but all we wanted was a small taxi. He then proceeded to tell us there are no small taxis available at 5am but we drove past the square in the morning and there were many. He was getting annoyed that I was asking so many questions and I was annoyed that he kept talking over me and being kind of rude, so I accepted. When we were leaving, he was like there is a tourist tax but i pay for you like it isn’t included in the listing and I quote “We have included all charges provided to us by the property.” It’s small occasions but overall the stay was decent.

Riad situated in a great location close to the main square. Once inside it was lovely and quiet. The owner was very friendly and when we arrived we were given water and advised where we could exchange money and what to expect to pay for taxis . If we had any questions, we only had to ask. Breakfast was quite simple, consisting of croissants, bread and pancakes, juice and coffee. On the last day of our stay we were offered omelette which was very welcome. Our room was on the top floor opening out onto the courtyard. It was basic but spacious and suited us for our 4 night stay.

This Riad is a piece of paradise in this crazy world. Once you step through the beautiful front door, a beautiful, quiet oasis awaits you. Hosted by Said and his wife Majda, who will make you a wonderful traditional lunch or dinner upon request. This Riad is like an English B&B but in another world. Authentic Morrocan, quiet, great service, and a nice breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble for Mr. Said, he is a great host. We hope to come back.

Overall our stay at Riad Elias was a pleasant one. Said, the owner doesnt speak much English, but we were able to communicate enough to get by. We could hear everyone in the room and I'm sure that everyone could hear us. The location of the Riad was good, but note that you will have to walk through the market area every time you want to go home. Speaking of home, the staff were wonderful and they had a very friendly pet turtle there. The staff cleaned up our room every day and even with some cash left around by us at one point accidentally, they didnt take anything. Lastly, don't expect a 5 star accommodation. I would say that this is comparable to an elevated hostel. NOTE: The government expects an extra tourist tax at the end of your stay and Said will ask for it in cash. We calculated it beforehand so there wasnt an argument about it.

We stayed at the Riad Elias for 4 nights. Said the owner is most possibly the nicest man in Marrakech. He was extremely helpful and amenable throughout our entire stay. We also recommend taking up the offer of an evening meal at the riad, the home cooked tagine was delicious. Lovely riad close to the Médina. The staff was wonderful and very helpful with recommendations. The hotel is surprisingly quite for being so close to the market and was very clean. To be honest we would struggle to say anything good about this property.Certainly not for the fainthearted!!! I realize that it's meant to be a 'traditional' accommodation but this is taking it too far. Believe me, it looks nothing like the photos! Unfortunately, it rained a lot when we were there but there is nothing to do in the Riad, they only offer one evening meal which you have to book at breakfast, same menu every night consisting of soup, chicken or lamb couscous. You cannot get drinks or snacks unless you want to risk your life and fight your way through the souk. They advertise a roof terrace but trust me its not a nice place to spend your time. I certainly couldn't recommend this to anyone especially if you are elderly or have children. The bathroom is dangerous and rather than a stone shower tray which is stained and slimy and the brass wash basin surrounded by dirty stone tiles, it should have a porcelain tray with a handle to grab when getting in and out. It cant be easy to clean and is totally unhygienic We didn't even see the steam room as advertised and the 'pool' is not what anyone could call a pool!! Oh, and beware of paying cash at the Riad as the manager will only accept cash for any extras...wonder why ?

The property was difficult to find in the beginning. A lovely old house with a fountain pool in the middle, next to a large palm tree. 10 Minutes walk to the main square. Room amenities could be better. Missed having a tea/coffee maker in the room as well as a TV. Good and helpful host..A rather small bed (length). Nice continental breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice. Overall a good stay...

Riad Elias was in a great location - very easy to get around the medina, and a short walk to Jemaa El-Fna. We stayed in the Ankara suite/room, which was fairly narrow but long. The rooms are all facing inward to the courtyard, which means if people are outside your door, it can be bothersome, but it all depends on who else is staying at the Riad. Breakfast was simple but decent. Said, the property manager, is quite friendly and helpful. If you need anything or have any special requests, just ask. The hammam and massage was also quite nice and relaxing.

We LOVED staying at the Riad Elias. The owner, Said, is a wonderful host and he made us feel at home. The lunch upon arrival was the best we had during our days in Marrakesh, so I totally recommend booking a meal there. We were there with our 10 month old baby and it was a very family-friendly environment - Said even babysit our baby while we had brealfast every morning (thank you!). Each morning there was something new for breakfast like the morocan pancake, croissants, morocan bakery or pain au chocolat. The Riad is like an oasis away from the busy streets but very close to the main square and souks. Great to return for nap time after the long walks. Very clean room, private bathroom and clean common areas too. The room was cleaned every day. The access to the riad is through a narrow street but we felt safe in the area and walking in the evening was also fine. Even though the pool isn't active, the water in the patio gives it a nice ambiance while listening to the birds. We didn't use the terrace but it was acessible if we wanted to go there. Finally the room was very spacious, had a lot of natural light coming from the arcades of the riad, aid conditioner and there was a baby bed added for us at no extra cost. I totally recommend staying here.

If you do not have time to read the whole review, here is the main point: DEFINITELY stay here. This will be the best decision of your trip to Marrakesh. Accommodation: My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here at Riad Elias. The place is a beautiful combination of renovated and traditional that felt extremely safe. It is close to Jemma El-Fnaa (7 minute walk) but just far enough off the main road that you hear silence from the rooftop. Unless you’re leaving the area, you will not need a car. The staff: We only interacted with two people: Said (the owner) and Sana (the assistant). Said was very gracious, affable and went well above what anyone could have hoped for. When I explained to him that in was Valentine’s Day in the United States and that I wanted to do something special for my wife, he made it happen. Sana was very attentive and friendly. Tips: Ask for the Riad to organize transportation from the airport, your first night’s dinner for you and any tours you may want- It’s higher quality AND more cost effective. Also, ask Said to schedule a hammam and a massage for one of your first nights. Why? Because you’re going to want another one. Conclusion: Most people end their review stating whether or not they would stay at a certain place again. I’m ending mine by stating that while I LOVED Marrakesh, I would only go back to Marrakesh if I could stay at Riad Elias again. I’ve traveled on 4 continents and this was THE BEST accommodation I’ve ever stayed in.

First trip to Marrakesh for my family & I. We were received at the airport by a driver arranged by the Riad. Once in the area, the parked quite far & my family & I ended up carrying our luggage to the Riad. The walk was a good 15-20 minutes, needless to stay not happy from the get go. Next morning we were served a breakfast of pastries & local pancakes bought from the market just outside (we saw them as we toured the area). The bakeries has plenty of flies hovering around the food, luckily no one fell ill. Describing it as a continental breakfast is quite a stretch. The toiletries being described as designer in the hotel.com site are quite exaggerated, we had a tiny soap, with a shower gel & shampoo (both the same), not designer! Not sure how it’s rated 4+ The proprietor was quite interesting, one minute he was extremely inviting, next he was annoyed. He told us the city imposed local tax we needed to pay the night before checking out was to be 2.5 Euros for the 2 adults & my older child who is 11. When I reviewed my email it said no tax for those under 12. I showed him the email & was told by Said that the websites (he said bookings.com) kept changing the age, even though it’s a local tax. Once I questioned him he was not happy, he said don’t pay anything in quite a rood manner, I walked away. My husband spoke to him & said we would pay. He thought as is the last night, it’s best to go with the flow. He later apologizing to me for speaking the way he did.

We had a wonderful stay in this riad. It is deep in the medina. Although you may be able to find it using GPS, its better to ask them to meet you somewhere and guide you through the medina. There are signs to help navigate if you know to look for them. The riad owner, Sayyid, was extremely hospitable. He really enjoyed our 2 year son and played with him in the courtyard. They have a pet turtle roaming freely in the courtyard. This is what my son remembers most about our trip. We had friends staying in other riads meet up with us at ours. Sayyid greeted them with tea, wine, and olives on the house. The room was comfortable and stylish. It is a very small riad with only a few rooms. Sayyid let us choose the one we wanted. We did have issues getting hot water, but it was so hot outside, we didn't mind. The AC in our room worked really well. The location is great being right in the heart of medina. You can get to Jemma el Fnna fairly easily using GPS. Everything felt very safe.

Breakfast was a varied treat every day; don't expect bacon and eggs, this was a Continental breakfast with the best fresh orange juice I have ever had. The location was ideal if you want to be in the main thoroughfare with easy access to markets and souks. We were not pestered to buy anything; the locals stall holders were welcoming and enjoyed bartering as much as we did! We came away with a feeling of know much more about Morocco, the cultural and the way of life; expect some surprises but we hope you enjoy your experience as much as we did.

Shower wasn’t good, hardly any hot water and very hard to use a shower head to wash your hair. Room was very damp. The guy who owns hotel doesn’t speak great English and isn’t always there. We had an unexpected visit from some locals demanding money and trying to come in so would of been ideal if staff were there. Breakfast was basic. Very clean and quiet and great location!

A little oasis in the heart of the hustle of the old madina. It's friendly easy to get to and around Marrakech. The rooms are good sizes and you have the whole Reid to relax in. The manager was friendly and helpful. For what you got the price was great.

I wouldn't recommend this area, the staff said they would cancel but they didn't cancel and took my money. I would recommend a hotel. at night the place doesn't seem safe

This riad is in a great location inside the medina. The rooms are nicely designed with all the amenities you need. Our breakfast every morning was delicious. But the best part was our host "Said". He was so helpful and kind. There could not be a better host. He made us feel like family. If you decide to drive in with your own rental car, have Said meet you somewhere to follow him into the medina to the riad. The medina gets extremely crowded after 2pm and into the night it only gets worse. He will also show you where to park and negotiate the price for you. His help is invaluable.

Disappointed, hotel was really a guest house. Rooms were basic. no TV or phone. Air conditioning/ heater not working properly in one room. On third day we only got coffee for breakfast, they did not have tea. Owner tried to be helpful when we asked him to buy us somethings as no supermarket/ decent shops around but we had to keep tipping him.

My daughter and I were very pleased staying at Riad Elias. I couldn’t say enough about Sayid who greeted us at the taxi and carried our suitcases. He was extremely accommodating, polite, very helpful with tips on where to go and made our stay feel safe and welcoming!

We had a great stay at this Riad! Saiyid was extremely helpful and even personally took us to the main square to make sure that we met our excursion tour group. The hotel is very nice and comfortable. The bathrooms are especially beautiful. Breakfast was great and the airport transfers made our travel seamless. Definitely recommend!

As this was our first visit to Marrakech, we didn't really know what to expect. However, Riad Elias was a delightful place, set amid the hustle & bustle of the Medina with easy access to the Souks & the main square. The Riad was clean & comfortable and more like a relaxed family home. The route to the main square was lined with shops & cafes and was full of character & atmosphere with locals & tourists mingling with mopeds, hand-carts and donkeys!

Sayid was a wonderful host. I was a woman travelling alone and he went out of his way to make me feel welcome. I was greeted with a large bottle of water, which you'll need, and peppermint tea the evening I arrived. Sayid gave me a little souk tour on his motorbike the first morning, which was quite the fun experience, and dropped me off and picked me up at the two museums in the market. He even mailed off a couple postcards for me while I was off on an excursion and charged me upon my return 3 days later!! Breakfast was delicious, pastries or Moroccan pancake crepes with fresh fruit spread and tasty coffee. The riad itself is very charming and my room was perfect, the bed comfy and the room had plenty of shelf space and storage very conveniently out of the way. The shower had plenty of hot water. The ambiance felt very authentic and I loved it. Pick up and drop off at the airport were very reasonable, and on time, even with my weather delayed arrival. Smoking is allowed in the common areas though :( The location is great. Hard to find but you'll see in the medina everything is hard to find. There is a sign but the airport transportation arranged by the riad brings you right to the door. Its a fabulous location for soaking up the medina life, all the souks in the market, and a short walk to the jma al fna. There is so much action going on I never felt unsafe as a blonde American, though I do speak French. A wonderful and too short stay!

Had a awesome time in Marrakech and my stay at Riad Elias was excellent!!! Said went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. He gave us tips and ideas which made our stay memorable. His humbleness and care to details made me wish I could have stayed longer, but I had plans to visit Fez and Tangier. Would recommend Riad Elias to anyone visiting Marrakech especially if you want to be in walking distance of all the great sights to see. Will definitely be going back.

The owner Saeed really made our stay worthwhile. He tended to any of our needs and requirements and made us feel at home. The Riad itself is beautiful. It was nice to come back to a peaceful place after spending time amongst the hustle and bustle of the beautiful morroccan streets.

Experience was perfect from the start. Our taxi was waiting for us when we arrived and took us as close as possible to the Riad. Siad was waiting for us and walked us the short distance to the Riad. As son as we stepped through the picturesque door we were spellbound. The welcoming, quiet courtyard was beautiful. There was a pet tortoise to welcome us as well. Our room was beautiful, all the comforts were there too. Very spacious. Riad has a sun terrace where we spend most evenings chilling before we went out to dinner. Riad offered dining choices and had we had longer we would have tried it out, but we took in the local cuisine. We did however take advantage of the in house Hamman and massage services. Wonderful!! Our skin has never felt so soft, smooth and rejuvenated. Siad our host made sure we were well looked after and even surprised my daughter with a gift on her birthday. Thoroughly recommend this Riad.

A very warm and friendly welcome from Said, the owner, who was helpful in organising transfers. The Riad is tucked down an alleyway in a quiet part of the approaches to the Jerma el Fnaa square - plenty of lively streetlife. Adequate wifi connection for most needs. Copious breakfasts. Fun bathroom. I was there on a work trip, and would have quite liked to have a desk to use for my laptop, but I guess this won't be an issue for leisure visitors.

On arrival at this Riad we were greeted by the owner who showed us to our room. The room was quite dark and a bit basic with not allot of storage space. It did however feel authentic to the area and was very clean, the Air Conditioning was a God send. The owner made us feel at home giving us water and a map, pointing out the best places to get food and exchange money. The location was very central, outside of the most touristy areas however but only a 5 minute walk to the main square. Originally we did not have a key to the main front door and so on the first night we were locked out for about 45mins. After some of the other guests left we were given a key which I then lost whilst Quad biking, we offered to pay for a new one but the owner refused to take our money, if this was a hotel in Europe we would have definitely been charged, which goes to show how generous this hotel owner was. He made us feel very safe, ringing us to unsure that everything was going well and we felt that he was always a phone call away if there was any trouble.

Sayid made the stay fabulous. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and observant to detail. The riad was lovely; clean, spacious, comfortable. The only issue we had is that - this being our first visit to marrakech - we were drawn aback by the neighborhood it is in. It's located inside the medina, which is mostly pedestrian and very authentic. Some of the woman we were traveling with were harassed on the way to the hotel. Once we mentioned this to Sayid, he went above and beyond to ensure it wouldn't continue to happen. He is well known throughout the medina which provided us with a big sense of comfort. I would highly recommend this Riad, particularly because it's located on a side street, that's quiet, clean and secure. Thank you for your great service Said!

If you are like me you have likely looked at tons of reviews for various Riads, I finally decided on Riad Elias and couldn't have been more happy with our stay. No complaints and would recommend this Riad to all our friends and family. It was close to the main square and off a busier street so easy to find in the maze of the Medina. Breakfast is served whenever you arrange which is a perk for us as we had an early morning and a lazy morning and didn't have to be down at a specific time like other riads we stayed at in Morocco.

Falsely advertised as the photos are a minimum 4 years old. Very similar to Faulty Towers, only owner lives in luxury elsewhere and Said is left to cope. Quality of everything is below par. Yes once a grand Riad but when it was they probably cut the hands off robbers and the like, that live in this area. I booked for a week, left after less than 48hrs,went back 4 days later and left within 2 hrs. Marrakech has some beautiful Riads and areas this is not one of them. Stop in a better area and remember you get what you pay for.

As with all Riads in Medinas, this Riad was hard to find. This Riad needs some work on customer service and upkeep, as well as in-room amenities. The door handle fell off on day 1 and was not repaired while we were there for 2 days; the bathroom has a dangerous bi-level shower and toilet area - a 12 inch bi-level that I fell off of and scraped my leg on the fall; two different kinds of flies in the room (permanent residents); waste basket was not emptied from the previous guests; modest breakfast; although it claims to have designated smoking areas, the other guests smoked everywhere, making the place reeked of smoke; the room has no shelf to off load your bag; it has a terrance, but we encountered difficulty to have breakfast there to escape the smoked filled eating area on the first floor; and to add to the unpleasantness of the place, they ripped us off with the tourist surtax in the exchange from paying in Euros to being given change in Dirhams, the guy was so rude it bordered on insulance and disrespect - we will never recommend this place.

The service was outstanding. Got a nice email before I arrived asking if I'd like a driver to pick me up at the airport and they arranged a car to take me to the airport as well. My stay was short, but got a taste of authentic history in the heart of the Medina.

This was our first time in Morocco and I felt so at ease and pampered. The minute I checked in I was greeted so pleasentlyand I learned my first Arabic words. Siad was absolutely accommodating from taxis, tours, spas, and best souks to shop at. Everything I asked for was arranged with ease, and when we returned he checked to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. As for the location so close to the medina literally walking distance. However inside the riad so quite and peaceful. By the third day the neighbours waved hello to us. Being from the Caribbean, this was a whole different world for me and I loved every minute, the food, the culture, the tradition, the fashion.as for the architecture so beautiful and old world in a modern time

Riad Elias is a very special place. The host Said, his wife and staff were all very welcoming, fun, friendly and helpful. The Riad is clean and homely with 6 rooms on 2 levels, a roof terrace, lounge area and books/games/tv for the evenings and resident tortoise who was a big hit with the children. A family of 5 we had two rooms, a double and a triple on adjourning sides of the upper balcony area, both were great. We had a meal in-house one night as we were scheduled to arrive back late from a long day trip, we were even later back than planned - Said and his wife were very flexible in feeding us an amazing meal (possibly the best we had in Marrakech) at 9:30pm. The continental breakfasts were also very good, fresh orange juice, great coffee and daily menu change of Moroccan pastries/pancakes. The Riad arranged arrival/departure taxis for us which I would definitely recommend on arrival (€20 van from airport) as with the labyrinth of alleys you'd never find it first time.

Our stay in Marrakesh would not have been half as enjoyable if we had not stayed in Riad Elias. Soon after booked, we received an email from Sa'id giving us information about airport transfers, which was a great comfort as the Medina can be hard to navigate. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome with mint tea, a cold bottle of water and an introduction to the Riad's tortoise, Carolina, who moves faster than you'd imagine! Sa'id was always on hand to give tips on where to eat, excursions, and best places to get quality fair priced souvenirs - he even took me on a scooter to his friends apothecary/ spices store. He even went the extra mile at 11pm to take me on a scooter to the pharmacy as my girlfriend wasn't feeling well. The lady who work there was always happy to see us and constantly had a smile on her face. They were happy to take laundry for us and the room was always presented beautifully when we returned. Overall we really enjoyed our time in Marrakesh. If you really want to experience the city, we recommend staying in the Medina, and Riad Elias is only a 5 min walk from the Jemaa al fna (the main square). Thank you again for having us and for making our stay so enjoyable!

We stayed in Riad Elias in June 2015 for a week. Right from the moment we arrived, Siad (the hotel manager) did absolutely everything he could to make us feel welcome and to offer tips and advice. He was a real friend to us during our stay and also made a wonderful fresh breakfast for us every day, at whatever time we requested it. He also went out of his way to help us to organise a day trip to Essaouira, even calling the bus station for us to make sure we knew the right time to arrive in the morning. Our bedroom was beautiful - the bathroom was also amazing - and spotlessly clean. Towels and robes were provided, and replaced with clean ones every day. Lovely Moroccan soaps and shower gels were also provided. The room itself was also cleaned every day and always looked immaculate. Our room opened onto the central courtyard where Karolina the resident tortoise could usually be spotted trundling around. We didn't eat or drink at the riad (apart from breakfast) but we did spend a few afternoons on the roof terrace which has some spectacular views and comfortable sun loungers. There weren't many other guests at the riad during our stay (due to off-peak timings) which meant that it lacked the atmosphere created by other people, but was gloriously peaceful and very good for a relaxing holiday. I would 100% recommend Riad Elias to people looking for a relaxing and peaceful haven, a taste of traditional Morocco, good breakfast, super-friendly staff and a central location.

With only 8 rooms this delightful little raid was an oasis of calm. Perfect location, about 10 mins walk through the medina to the main Djem el Fnaa square. The host, Said, couldn't do enough for us offering frsh mint tea or coffee every time wew arrived back from a walk.

We stayed at Riad Elias for five nights. It was a very calm, quiet, pleasant stay especially as we were a family with a small child. We were welcomed walmly when we arrived and were looked after well. The Riad was difficult to find initailly since we arrived very late in the night and the Riad is situated down an alley way. This was not a problem during the rest of our stay. The Riad is five minutes walking distance from the main Marrakech square. The hotel is a traditional morrocan place.

Overall, we had a good experience with the riad. The host was friendly, but spoke limited English so communicating was a challenge at times when we were looking for input and advice (if we spoke French that would have helped). The hot water was only enough for one person. The breakfast was fairly basic but good. There was also some confusion with the host thinking we paid for four nights when we actually paid for six which was clearly reflected on all of our paperwork. It became a bit of a hassle upon check out.
