De schoonheid van de plek, de historische locatie (Matisse schilderde hier een paar van zijn beroemdste schilderijen), de super aardige mensen aan de receptie, de jongeman die onze koffers per se wilde dragen en ons de kamer van Matisse liet zien en ons allemaal echt goede tips gaf (in perfect Engels en Frans), en ook de prachtige en schone kamers.

Cons: I didn't like the hotel manager who, when I asked him for a restaurant recommendation out with the hotel, was insistent that the only other restaurant in Tangiers with good food was "his other hotel" restaurant just along the road. Very rude and arrogant man that has clearly been employed too long!. The other staff were embarrassed by his attitude.

The last time I visited this hotel I was 9 and I’m now 67! To be honest not much has changed. It’s a beautiful old hotel. Lovely room overlooking the city and the sea from the bedroom and the harbour from the bathroom. Everything in the room worked, lights, plugs etc..there was no mirror on the wall in the bedroom which was annoying. Hard to do your hair without a mirror! The only other thing in the room that was a BIG disappointment were the beds! They were literally like concrete!!! Lovely crisp white linen but horrendously hard beds. The pillows too were hard. This would be the only reason I wouldn’t return and why I knocked off a point. Breakfast was ok. Not great but ok. We didn’t eat in the restaurant so can’t comment. We did however visit the Matisse room which was where he did some of his work…that was a magical experience. Please note, the whole of tangier is built on hills including the hotel. Did feel a bit like a mountain goat climbing all the steps every day.

Le confort du lit. La distance entre le centre ville et la médina. L’aspect cocooning en plein centre de Tanger. La vue sur la mer et la kasbah (surtout depuis le rooftop !). Le service du petit déjeuner et du bar.
Cons: La salle de bain mérite un rafraîchissement. La lenteur voire l’inefficacité du personnel certes très gentil. On a vu traîner des assiettes de room service pendant trois jours d’affilés, des cocas traîner au bord de la piscine toute une journée. Le bruit des canalisations des chambres au dessus (ouverture de l’eau et chasse d’eau) et le bruit de l’eau de la piscine à fond toute la journée et la nuit. La qualité de la cuisine n’est pas à la hauteur des prix. PQ de très mauvaise qualité…

Великолепный отель! Превзошёл все ожидания! Во первых тут когда то жил Матис и комнату можно увидеть с экскурсией. У нас так получилось, что по состоянию здоровья нам пришлось отложить поездку домой и задержаться на неделю в отеле. Нас окружили заботой и вниманием и мы действительно чувствовали себя спокойно как дома. Особые слова благодарности хочу выразить Акраму , за его искреннее внимание и заботу о нас! Профессионал в работе и очень хороший человек! Благодарим! Очень хорошее местоположение отеля. Находится в старом городе, рядом все достопримечательности в 5 минутах хотя-бы главная площадь. Гулять по городу одно удовольствие и всегда можно быстро вернуться в отель. Сам отель на закрытой, охраняемой территории. Здание историческое, но отреставрировано и имеет хороший новый ремонт. Кровати удобный, бельё свежее, новое. Сам номер был очень уютный. Очень понравился ресторан и атмосфера и кухня , выше всяких похва! Очень вкусно, качественно и красивая подача! Завтраки так же были замечательные, омлеты, блинчики, сыры, ветчина, всевозможные закуски и вкуснейшая выпечка. Сервис в отеле отличный!

I will always remember the Grand Hotel Villa de France experience in a positive way. It was such an interesting and unique hotel. Be it's history, unique customer service, ideal position to the markets and overall atmosphere, this place ticks plenty of boxes. The staff put plenty of Tangier effort into making you feel special. Rooms are very generous in size, well kept and the views from the shuttered windows are pleasing.
Cons: Being kept awake during the Under 20 World Cup final on the big screen in the Conference room underneath our room until 3am. Morocco won by the way. But that is Morocco, Tangier and their love of football. Small blip in great stay.

O hotel no geral é envolvente, bem centralizado, limpo. O que mais incomodou foi as suites que ficamos
Cons: Não fiquem nas suites: 1007 e 1008, essas suites ficam por baixo de um restaurante e a frente dos elevadores. Houve-se tudo. Não se consegue dormir nesta area antes da meia noite, e despertar logo quando o café da manha. Até perto da meia noite um ruido horrivel de cadeiras sendo puxadas, passos, ruido ensurrecedor que não se conseguia dormir. Reclamamos, mas nada fizeram apenas informaram que o ruido vinha de cima porque estavam arranjando a sala. O que é triste, pois já devem saber o quanto é incomodo e um transtorno para quem está em baixo, mesmo assim, dispoe essas suites.

Nous avons passé quatre nuits absolument parfaites au Grand Hôtel Villa de France. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été charmés par la beauté du lieu, son atmosphère chargée d’histoire et la gentillesse du personnel. L’accueil a été remarquable : attentionné, professionnel et toujours souriant. La chambre était spacieuse, très propre et décorée avec goût, dans un style à la fois classique et chaleureux. Le plus : une vue incroyable sur la mer, que nous ne nous lassions pas d’admirer, surtout au lever et au coucher du soleil. Nous avons aussi eu la chance de visiter la chambre d’Henri Matisse, moment plein d’émotion qui rappelle combien cet hôtel est un lieu emblématique de Tanger. Le petit-déjeuner, varié et copieux, était servi dans un cadre magnifique, avec toujours un service attentionné.

Grand Hotel Villa de France is perfectly located close to the Medina and oozes old world charm from a by gone era with magnificent views over the bay. Staff are very attentive and dress to that old world charm. Our rooms were very specious with a lovely afternoon breeze following through the open windows. The breakfast was sufficient. Overall a very memorable stay.
Cons: Congratulations to Morocco for winning the under 20 world cup, even though we heard every memorable moment from 11:30am thought to 3:00am. Note to others, make sure you check to see if any Morocco football games are being played during your stay.

The Grand Hotel Villa de France claims to be 5-star. At best it scrapes 3-stars. Beware the scam at reception. We arrived from the ferry to find our agent who has booked us in multiple hotel rooms over the years had apparently booked us in the economy room, which was a poky, small, dark room with a view of a wall. The front-of-house manager was insistent this was our room. So we started to negotiate an upgrade, eventually settling on 300 Dirhams a night for a much nicer room. Much to my ‘astonishment’ the card machine which has works perfectly well ten minutes earlier no longer worked, so I would have to pay cash to secure. And as we left today, the same character tried to charge us twice for some laundry, firstly claiming it was a tax charge and then that we had double the laundry done. This time he didn’t succeed. With all the new hotels now open or being built on the Corniche, this hotel is already facing challenges. Ripping its customers off only will accelerate that decline. Avoid.

My wife and I would say good morning , good afternoon etc and she totally ignored us on several occasions. Very poor customer service.

Shades of the past, piano music, live and recorded to accompany your meal experiences, vibes of Casablanca came to mind. A duplex building is now in front of the pool, so the advert picture is of yesteryear. My duplex was fine with views to the Straits of Gibraltar. The staff were helpful and efficient in providing taxi transfers. The restaurant has lost its atmosphere and choice of dishes from what I remember of stays in 1970s. For a 5 star establishment, breakfast leaves room for improvement. Cat lovers might be a little perplexed or distressed by the strays in and around. Overall, a pleasant sejour and the sunshine is for free.

Cons: La musique près de la piscine qui ne cesse que lorsqu'on demande d'arrêter. L'attitude un peu désinvolte du pool-boy. Le manque de plats chauds l'après-midi (le restaurant ne propose que des snacks l'après midi)

This was a great stay, as usual, but please do not change the attitude. Remain as you are; knowledgeable, hospitable, professional and friendly. The room was beautiful, clean, and well-equipped; the Wi-Fi connection was strong, and the breakfast was good. I also liked the amenities in the room, good quality soaps, shower gels, and a really great point is that you also provide hair conditioner :) Henry Matisse's room is also available for visitation. History is felt on every step taken. Beautiful hotel.
Cons: Only one point: the breakfast. Please ensure that the coffee is good. Also, the last time we were here, on the breakfast table, there was a pot with beautifully prepared vegetables that tasted as if they had been cooked in a wok. I'm not sure, as they were not available this time, but please bring them back. Also, please add some tags to the breakfast table, as some of the items may not be well-known.

This is one of those properties where the hotel makes the trip. Steeped in history with impeccable design, incredible staff and amazing amenities. Takes you back in time to 1950’s Casablanca era. Situated on a hilltop providing incredible views of Tangier with an easy walk to the grand souk and Medina.

We’ve enjoyed our upgraded 2 night stay in our lovely villas with direct access to the pool, minus a few maintenance issues with the bathroom sink plugs. All the staff especially at reception and at breakfast have all been helpful and friendly ensuring we have an enjoyable stay. We've been staying at the Grande Ville for the last few years and hope to be back next year for another stay 😄😄😄

L’hôtel est absolument magnifique et plein de charme, on a vraiment l’impression de séjourner dans un lieu chargé d’histoire, presque comme un monument. Le personnel est aux petits soins, toujours disponible et très accueillant. La présence d’un parking sur place est un vrai plus. La piscine est très agréable, parfaite pour se détendre. Ce lieu est un véritable havre de paix, d’un calme impressionnant malgré sa situation en plein centre-ville. Et justement, l’emplacement est idéal pour découvrir la ville à pied. Nous avons passé un séjour parfait et reviendrons avec grand plaisir.

Such a lovely hotel splashed out after a horrible stay in an average apartment in casablanca so when we came to hotel de ville we were over the moon the pool was heaven. The location is perfect. Mohammed really looked after us and upgraded us to a beautiful suite by the pool we were so happy wish we could have afforded a longer stay. It aint cheap but so worth it

Cons: La chambre 115, très sombre (vue sur un mur) avec 2 petits lits enfants non adaptés pour un couple dotés de matelas très durs. Le pommeau de douche et le lavabo trop hauts pour une taille d'1m60. Le refus de changement de chambre alors que nous avons passé 6 nuits et que l hôtel n'était pas plein. L absence de ménage dans la terrasse piscine même si elle n est pas utilisée.

Locatie is geweldig, enkele minuten lopen naar de oude stad van de ene kant en naar de strand van de andere kant. Kamers zijn mooi met oriëntaalse decoratie passend bij het hotel. We vroegen voor 2 kamers naast elkaar en dat was goed geregeld. Ontbijt is goed gevarieerd op een mooie locatie.

We loved this hotel, its was a truly elegant oasis of calm on the fringe of the medina. Our family of 5 stayed in two rooms, one with an extra bed added. They were spacious and pristinely decorated. The pool was divine, from the soft towels provided, to the pool guys who made sure you had loungers. The yummy lunch served pool side was also divine, and the cocktails! The staff could not be more friendly and arranged early check in and later check out at no cost. We felt transported back in time to a Hercule Poirot era. Don’t go for one of the soulless modern hotels - book this for elegance, style and location! Very Moroccan/French and insta perfect!

Cons: La musique style boîte de nuit en journée à la piscine et qui s'entend jusque dans les chambres donnant du côté piscine, fenêtres fermées. Impossible de se reposer notamment à l'heure de la sieste. Nous nous sommes plaints et le deuxième jour à notre demande la musique a finalement été arrêtée. Mais c'est vraiment dommage car la musique donne un côté assez vulgaire a l'hôtel qui est pourtant plein de chrame et la piscine est très belle et agréable. Le petit déjeuner n'est pas incroyable.

Cons: It did not feel like a 5 stars hotel at all. First I was given a tiny room that had nothing to do with the one showed in booking. They then changed it to another room, which had kind of a hospital bathroom: just an open space, with no delimited shower or bathtub… the holder for the shower head was even broken. There was no minibar, the room was dark, kinda noisy, next to the kitchen… ordering at the bar could take ages, the quality of the food was far from good… it did not feel at all like a 5-stars experience and I would definitely never have paid what I paid for what I got.

Mon séjour à l’hôtel a été tout simplement exceptionnel. Dès mon arrivée, j’ai été chaleureusement accueilli par un personnel souriant, professionnel et attentif à chaque détail. L’enregistrement s’est fait rapidement et avec efficacité. La chambre était impeccable : propre, spacieuse, bien décorée et très confortable. Le lit offrait un sommeil réparateur, et la vue depuis la fenêtre était magnifique. Tout était parfaitement agencé pour assurer un confort optimal. Le service était irréprochable tout au long de mon séjour. Chaque demande a été prise en charge avec réactivité et bienveillance. Le petit-déjeuner était délicieux, varié et préparé avec des produits de qualité.

Die Lage und und die wunderschöne Aufmachung des Hotels unser Zimmer war sehr komfortabel mit Blick auf die Medina. Es gibt die Möglichkeit einen Drink in der Bar zu nehmen, was in Marokko nicht selbstverständlich ist. Man wohnt quasi wunderbar ruhig mitten in der Stadt. Der wunderbare Pool. Das Frühstück mit Sitz in einem wunderschönen Innenhof.
Cons: Leider ist das Personal nicht immer sehr aufmeksam. Die Toilettenspülung müsste in den Zimmern erneuert werden. Am Pool war machmal die Musik sehr laut.

Idéal pour un week-end couple ou famille. L'hôtel est idéalement placé, près de la Médina mais aussi de la nouvelle ville. Malgré cela, l'hôtel est très calme. Though the outside setting was picturesque for dinner, the food was mediocre and the staff made many mistakes and to be honest seemed not to listen when we were ordering food or drinks. The hotel is beautiful; despite the hotel’s old age, the staff have done a wonderful job at making the hotel still feel very new. The front desk and bellhop provided excellent service during my stay. The onsite restaurant also had delicious food and drinks.
Cons: Bathroom could have been a tad bit cleaner as the marble floors and tiling had dried in water marks which indicated they may not have been thoroughly washed. Otherwise, I had a wonderful stay here.

Magnificent 1920’s hotel fully renovated. Every thing from the room to the pool to the breakfast to the staff was perfect. Special mention to Rashid and Hussain who were on duty when we arrived. I had left my bag in the back of the taxi and with a few phone calls they got it back in under 30 minutes. Exceptional service saving us days of panic and inconvenience. A great hotel to finish our month in Marco.

Un établissement d'une autre époque qui sort des standings dernières générations mais qui vous saisira sans nul doute pour son charme et son caractère de palace centenaire. La piscine est un bijou.
Cons: L'accueil le soir de notre arrivée indigne d'un "palace" (une personne peu accueillante limite désagréable), tandis que le personnel de chambre adorable tout comme celui du service du petit-déjeuner. Un point à améliorer, le petit déjeuner se voulant être au standing du "traditionnel" buffet commun à tous les 3 et 4 étoiles du monde entier. La marque de fabrique "à la française" puisqu'on est à la Grande Villa de France n'est absolument pas visible alors que le cadre s'y prête complétement... Un petit déjeuner "façon 1920" par exemple révélant le faste de l'époque aurait été tellement plus subtile et inoubliable pour les touristes... cela contribuerait à assoir davantage ce bel établissement d'époque dans la lignée du Negresco...

From start to finish loved my stay here had a superior room with 3 big widows facing the old town the views were amazing and the room big with bath and large bathroom comfortable king size bed and overall large room. Breakfast included was nice and fresh and ate at the hotel the first night and the meal was exceptional. The pool was good not too cold and relaxed for a few hours around the pool. Definitely will return as Tangier has something most towns don't a bit of attitude and history. Brilliant staff printed my boarding pass and lovely every time and booked taxi back to airport for me too.

Trotz sehr zentraler Lage, sehr ruhig und eine Oase zum Entspannen. Das Frühstück ist Kultur und landestypisch entsprechend gut. Man darf es einfach nicht mit einem 5 Sterne Frühstück europäischen Standards vergleichen. Das beginnt schon beim Kaffee:-). Атмосфера чудесная. Всё в отеле вызывающе старомодно, но в этом его прелесть. Иногда казалось, что мы отдыхаем где-то в Ницце или перенеслись в Танжер начала прошлого века. Изумительные виды из номера и с террас отеля на море, порт и старый город. Здесь бережно сохраняют комнату, в которой останавливался Матисс, и если у вас есть желание, портье проведёт для вас небольшую экскурсию туда. И в целом в отеле всё напоминает о Матиссе, в дизайне интерьеров использованы его орнаменты. Завтрак не очень разнообразный, но всё вкусно, а в зале для завтраков с белыми скатертями и красиво сервированными столами было очень приятно начинать свой день. Очень приятные люди все официанты, обслуживание отличное. Удобный закрытый гараж для машин. WiFi работал хорошо. Отличное расположение. Практически все знаковые достопримечательности Танжера в пешей доступности. Хороший, приветливый персонал, очень милые портье. Спалось здесь очень хорошо, кровати удобные. Ванная комната с окном - это очень прикольно.
Cons: В номере многое морально устарело, но это не портит впечатления, всё в едином стиле. Единственное существенное неудобство связано с тем, что невозможно принять душ, не залив водой пол в ванной комнате. Слышимость из коридора и с улицы высокая, но ночью, к счастью тихо (если не считать муэдзина ранним утром).

I was very comfortable in my room and breakfast had good choice - lots of fresh fruit. My avocado mouse at dinner was beautifully presented and very tasty. I also enjoyed the sole.
Cons: Two of my friends had a problem with tough rack of lamb at dinner. This was dealt with very quickly by a member of staff so there is no outstanding complaint.

Great location for visiting the medina and other sights in Tangier. We had a lovely room that looked over the pool. Comfy bed and nice large room. Breakfast was great, fresh fruit juice and Moroccan bread with plenty of meat, cheese and hot food. The staff in the restaurant, reception and the porters were all very friendly and helpful. We arrived a little early but we were able to check in which was very much appreciated.

We enjoyed staying at this grand old hotel in a very central location in Tangier. The room and bathroom were spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was varied and there was an option to take it on the terrace. The wifi was reliable and the staff were helpful. The hotel organised a friendly driver to take us to the airport very early in the morning.
Cons: It was difficult to stop shower water slashing on the floor; a shower curtain would help. A pick-up at the railway station could not be arranged.

Cons: J’avais contacté l’hôtel en amont de notre arrivée par téléphone mais également par mail afin d’être certaine d’avoir 2 lits simples et j’avais demandé qu’est-ce qu’ils proposaient en terme de petite attention dans le cadre d’un anniversaire car nous arrivions le jour J de l’anniversaire de mon ami. Rien n’a été pris en compte à notre arrivée. En revanche, après l’avoir fait remarquer à la réception, ils ont préparé une petite attention au moment du dessert qui a beaucoup plus à mon ami ! De plus, à notre arrivée nous avions un problème avec la chasse d’eau qui ne fonctionnait pas correctement et faisait beaucoup de bruit. Ils ont envoyé quelqu’un pour réparer plutôt que de nous changer la chambre, et la réparation ne s’est pas avérée utile. Nous avons eu le problème pendant tout notre séjour. Pour finir le restaurant ne disposait pas de tous les plats annoncés à la carte et les desserts étaient encore légèrement congelés. Nous avons malgré tout apprécié notre séjour dans cet hôtel mais nous nous attendions à mieux pour un établissement de ce standing-là.

Excellent hotel in a great location on the edge of the old town, with less than a 5 minute walk to the medina. A traditionally decorated hotel which is well kept and has some amazing features. Plenty of lovely options at breakfast. Try the Moroccan tea, but it is very, very sweet. There is also free parking at the hotel. The rooms are a good size and very comfortable. The piano bar is a nice area for a drink at the end of a busy day. We had a great stay.

Cons: Было прохладно в номере, использовать для обогрева кондиционер не получилось. Деревянные ставни на окне немного рассохлись и не открываются полностью, закрывая часть красивого вида. Туалетная бумага явно должна быть качественнее. Часть персонала - повара, уборщики, техники должна быть более незаметной. Марокканское вино каберне-совиньон в ресторане оказалось неудовлетворительным.

We loved the magical grand feeling on arrival. The welcome was so friendly and checkin was very easy. We received an upgrade to a fabulous double story room by pool. The whole hotel was elegant and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and the pouring of the tea was unforgettable. Location was brilliant. All staff were so helpful and friendly.

Très belle chambre grande et spacieuse, bien équipée et avec une salle de bain très confortable et munie d'un bidet!
Cons: Climatisation ne fonctionnant pas très bien, fenêtre laissée ouvert par la femme de chambre et moustiques étant rentrées dans la chambre. Parfois un peu de bruits dans le couloir. On nous a prêté un parapluie qui s'est cassé tout de suite après. La réceptionniste devait nous envoyer deux sachets de camomille dans la chambre mais elle a oublié.

Cons: Walls of our room were incredibly thin - we heard every conversation, incoming text and snore from next door. And talking doors, everyone was slammed on exit. The Restaurant lacked ambience, and 1 senior dining/bar staff member was incredibly unhelpful and lacking social graces. Restaurant food overpriced and uninspiring, with the exception of breakfast. Hotel bar was uninviting. On balance, we wouldn’t stay again, despite the hotel’s charms.

Friendly staff gave us a warm welcome and looked after us well. The hotel is in a great location, and we had views across to the Medina. The mid century feel to the hotel was appreciated. We enjoyed our visit and would like to return if possible.

Habitacion super amplia y limpia. El baño impoluto. Es un hotel antiguo, pero muy bien cuidado, los muebles aunque son de estilo antiguo, no estan viejos. Usamos el servicio de habitaciones y el restaurante del hotel, todo magnifico. El desayuno buffet muy bien surtido: cafe, te, zumos naturales, panes, embutidos, huevos revueltos, verdura asada, fruta cortada y crepes hechos al momento, aunque no recomiendo ir a ultima hora porque ya no reponen cosas al final. Nos reservaron un taxi tanto como para cuando llegamos del aeropuerto, como cuando nos fuimos. 25€ por trayecto. El staff muy atento, hablaban todos varios idiomas y muy serviciales. Tiene una situacion inmejorable, a 5 min andando de la plaza del Zoco.

Nous avions la chambre jouxtant la chambre de Matisse! Nous avons retrouvé le décor tel que sur les tableaux de ce grand peintre. Le personnel était très avenant. L'hôtel est très bien situé, près du grand Socco, de la médina et de l'esplanade longeant la mer. C'était un vrai plaisir de séjourner dans cet établissement. On y retournera!

Excellent location, walking distance from the medina. The room was clean, with plenty of storage space in the wardrobes. The view from our room was really nice, overlooking the medina and the sea. The breakfast was great, especially the Moroccan crepes with amlou (delicious!). The staff were all very helpful and friendly, especially our waiter (unfortunately I don't remember his name, but he was so nice and made helpful suggestions).
Cons: The bathroom layout was a bit cramped and hard to get around, especially with the swinging glass door, and the seating area was not well arranged with little space around the table and sofas (and they were very heavy and difficult to move). Not a big deal, but something that could be improved. Also, please consider adding more hooks for towels and coats. There was also no way to adjust the temperature in our room, which was confirmed by the maintenance guy, so we had to choose between being very hot (with the heater on) or freezing cold (shut the heater off and open the window). One major thing to check is the rugs/mats both in the room and in the entrance to the building, we slipped on them a few times and also saw another guest slip on one. This can be hazardous, please consider getting non-slip mats and rugs instead. Overall not bad, but for what we paid we expected a slightly better experience. With a few improvements, it could be an excellent hotel.

We loved the look of the hotel on arrival, the concierge was helpful in showing us up the drive with our motorbike to reception for check in & the girl behind reception was lovely, professional & helpful as was the porter.
Cons: Not sure who the guy was at reception, think possibly reception manager or shift manager but he demanded we move our bike which was tucked in against the wall, during check in (as advised by the very nice concierge), the cars were left in the middle of the drive! He obviously thinks motorbikes should not be allowed at this hotel & our Triumph was more expensive than the 2 hire cars in the middle of the drive! He demanded we move it before completing check in! He spoiled our stay, in addition to ridiculously loud rave music by the pool, strange.

Les prix ne sont pas justifiés. Le petit déjeuner mériterait mieux, pas de choix concernant le pain, les crêpes Marocaines n'ont été proposées qu'un jour sur 3. Tout est à revoir concernant la restauration

Good location, nice property, with old world charm. Has potential to be made into more boutique hotel experience if they upgraded the facilities interior. The staff in the restaurant were wonderful. The bedroom was nice and comfy.
Cons: I made an arrangement for arriving earlier and it was approved. However when I got to the hotel, I was told I have to wait till the check in time which was in the afternoon.

We have often stayed in this hotel, and its uniqueness and charm are retained. It differs from other 5-star hotels where the staff is so arrogant. This hotel is a different story; everyone was so friendly to us, and there was trust. In other hotels, they always ask us to pay before we consume the services, but here, they ask us to pay at the checkout. The breakfast was lovely, too. This time, it was a smaller selection than usual, but I loved it, as it was clear that there was less food waste and that everything served was well prepared and presented. The location is fantastic and probably the best location to stay in Tangier. Also, the room was beautiful. It is so elegant; I read some reviews saying that the furniture in the room has deteriorated, but it is not valid; this is classic, beautiful furniture, well looked after, and the decoration in the room is elegant and classic. I love this hotel.
Cons: One small point: maybe a bit more knowledge about the ingredients in the case of food allergies. Also, to explain better what is served, a vegan corner would work well in the restaurant for breakfast. The same goes for the piano bar; honestly, just some more explanation will work wonders. This is not a criticism, just a tiny piece of advice.

Cons: Fuimos organizando premio incentivo de un grupo del que formamos parte. El hotel no es un verdadero 5 estrellas, yo diría que de tres. Personal muy agradable pero nada cualificado. Falla la dirección. En general las habitaciones bien si tienes suerte, en nuestro caso una de las 7 habitaciones que reservamos era lamentable, la ventana tenía como vistas un muro a un metro de distancia y si mirabas hacia a bajo un trastero de muebles viejos para tirar. Enchufes rotos, toallero roto, en fin, un desastre. Le dijeron que les cambiarían la segunda noche así que les pidieron dejaran maleta hecha. Al regreso al hotel despues de un día de excursión, no les cambiaron la habitación. El check in un desastre tambien. A las 00h nos costó tomar algo, finalmente solo poción cerveza o vino y estamos hablando de 5 estrellas. Por si sirve la fiabilidad de mi opinión, soy hija de hotelero.

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral und kann einfach erreicht werden, und es hat eine wunderbare Aussicht auf die Straße von Gibraltar. Sie fügt immer einen großen Charme, der sehr an das Ende des 19. und den Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts erinnert.
Cons: Das Restaurantpersonal war zumindest an dem Tag, als ich da war, ein wenig unaufmerksam und musste mehrfach daran erinnert werden, etwas zu tun. Die Aussicht aus meinem Zimmer eher bescheiden, da ich direkt auf das Nachbargebäude mit seinem alten Gerümpel schaute.

Cons: They failed to get the bath fixed. Lots of mosquitoes even in winter. The indoor pool is in a different hotel. I was taken to the wrong room three times on arrival. There isn’t much privacy in the bathroom from the window which faced the main entrance. Noisy all the time.

The employees and location.
Cons: The first room they gave us was horrible. The heat wouldn't work, and the electricity turned off in the room completely. The shower head was shooting water in the wrong direction and soaked the floor. The only reason I gave them a 6 out of 10 is because they switched us to a different room, which was much better, but still, the hotel and rooms in general need remodeling and renovation. They also need to bring new towels. The towels they have are worn out and used so much.

Property was beautiful, and the bathroom was excellent. Breakfast was also great. Offers one of the best views in Tangier. One complaint was that the staff were rude for no apparent reason. For a hotel this grandiose and with this history, my partner and I were repeatedly surprised by how cold and unwelcoming the lobby staff were.
