Stunning nature, lovely staff, an amazing overall experience. Would love to come back.

Cons: The only thing that could have been improved was the food. The location is really far away in the mountains, so even if it was unfortunate that they ran out of things (red wine, couscous etc), I guess it is understandable in this rural setting. The Moroccan dishes were nice, but the international dishes could definitely use an improvement.

Lovely staff - very friendly and accommodating, the location, views and gardens were stunning. Food was good - the Moroccan dishes being the best of the menu.

Cons: There was a bit of a drain smell lingering about at times, and the shower in our room was a trickle, but maybe understandable given the rural location in the mountains.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly – always ready to assist. The location is perfect, the views are beautiful, and the courtyard is cozy and pleasant.

Cons: Our stay had some issues. The dome was extremely hot during the day, and the air conditioner didn’t help much – stronger AC would be recommended. The photos made it look like the dome was fully transparent to enjoy the sky, but it was actually covered, which was misleading. Also, the overhead shower was non-functional and only for decoration, while the hand-held shower worked fine.

The location is amazing, with views from the pool out to the Atlas Mountains. The staff were great - super friendly, trying to teach us Arabic, and answering our questions. Note, this was our stop after Marrakesh, and it was so peaceful there. It's a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city—a great place to unwind. We did a small local hike. Others did big hikes, but for us it was hot (August!) so we took the time to chill by the pool.

Cons: To nitpick, I would have liked a bed side light (only one on the other side of the double bed). Plus, it would have been great to have a fridge in the room to keep the water cold. Our last night there was my birthday and they'd run out of beers. However, upon hearing it was my birthday, a staff member put 'Happy Birthday' on the restaurant speakers and came by with a complimentary cake for the four of us. A nice gesture.

Giving this hotel only a 7 rating is in no way influenced by the magnificent location and hospitality we received from the incredible staff. Each morning we were met by a team with smiles and service at such a high level. The breakfast, pool, and views were quite incredible, and each evening we enjoyed wonderful food on the terrace. Our first day and a half truly surpassed our expectations to spend time in such a beautiful and tranquil spot. However, during the afternoon of the second day, a group of 45 high school students descended on the hotel. We were not informed prior to their arrival. The afternoon of tranquillity was then spoilt by around 30 ish loud teenagers in the swimming pool, with some in the pool fully clothed. Unfortunately, the top management of the hotel seemed to care little about this situation or the effect it had on us and other guests in the hotel. It is the policy of the hotel to offer day rates to individuals and groups to supplement hotel income. Despite the senior management offering me a level of compensation on the evening when I complained, the amount agreed was then reduced at checkout. Perhaps this did not upset me as much as the lack of empathy shown when the hotel states on its website that offers, ‘If you are seeking to unwind, relax and get-away-from-it-all then look no further; Kasbah Africa is the spot for you’

Cons: More poolside beds should be provided, especially if the hotel continues with the policy to offer day rates

This is a unique and authentic hotel in the Ouirgane Valley. Beautiful views and very attentive staff where we received a lot of individual attention. We enjoyed the excursions / experiences we did around the local valley, up into the Imlil valley towards Jemel Toubkal, and the cookery class on the terrace at Kasbah Africa. These were really good and personal/ unique experiences with knowledgeable interesting guides and hotel staff.

Cons: It was very hot when we there mid July. It may not be possible in the extreme 44deg heat but some additional cooling options within the room would have been appreciated.

Lovely staff, very friendly and accommodating even from before our arrival. Arranged transfers easily and helped us plan some hikes around the area and Imlil, modifying some of the tours to suit our preferences. Beautiful scenery and very peaceful especially as there was only one other family there. We stayed in the sky dome with great views and AC/fans to keep it cool. Fresh food

Cons: Only losing one star for some very small details, like hooks in the bathroom, fans in the main dining area and lobby which felt very hot at times. Overall great for a rural area and happy with it

Excellent staff. Particularly the manager Sofianne. Great location, views and landscaping to the grounds of the Kasbah. We only ate tagines in the evening but the food was very tasty traditional cooking to a high standard. Quiet and peaceful except for the chickens, peacock and donkey.

Cons: We stayed in the 2 bed Berber Cottage which was very rustic. The property had not been prepared when we arrived but this was resolved very quickly by the manager. The doors did not seem to be fully secure but no problems arose from this. There was a safe for valuables. The Cottage was basic and didn't quiet meet our expectations but the other accommodation looked to be more modern and was probably fine.

We loved the people working there, the help we received with everything, the quick replies from the owners, manager Soufjan and all the other staff. The food was okay, the room was nicely located, location and view were magnificent. Also the gardens well kept, lovely animals on site and outdoor areas very well kept. Overall we are very happy with our stay.

Cons: We were a little dissapointed by the quality of the beds, sheets and bedding and hygiene in the room. Dont want to nitpick since our epxperience was very positive overall but little things like a dirty toiletmat, no space to hang a towel, the extra bed was very uncomfortable so one of us slept on the (rather hard) sofa instead. Overall impression was that the rooms as well as the outdoor spaces could use a little tlc as in perhaps a lick of paint, new matresses on the swimmingpool beds. Can imagine it is hard work to sustain everything. We thought the pricing of the room was a little out of balance for the condition it is in at present. Sounds a little spoilt but the pictures online do not quite match the reality. We did get the friendly option to change to a cottage when we arrived, looked similar to our room and was also nicely located but we decided to stay a little closer to the restaurant ;-). So overall, thanks for wonderfull stay, would come again and perhaps theabove

This is a magical place with a beautiful view and nice garden. The swimming pool is really nice (not heated, but lovely on warm days). The staff were super friendly, Mohammad and Rashid were so kind. Mohammad and the donkey “harry” helped us with our luggage down the steps which was very entertaining for the kids. They had a little turtle sanctuary, a peacock, chickens and ducks which was also a hit with the kids. Do note that the roosters like to make some noise (only doing daytime) - not an issue for us but might be for others. Sitting on the balcony in the evening and listening to the creek, a donkey in the distance and the calls for prayer while overlooking the valley was really amazing. Not to mention the night sky with shooting stars. Thank you Kasbah Africa and all the staff - wished we could have stayed longer.

Cons: While the breakfast was nice with a choice of eggs (the Berber omelette was lovely) the food was generally pretty standart and could be improved. It is not possible to eat breakfast and dinner on the patio which is a shame.

We had an amazing time at Kasbah Africa. We stayed for three nights and enjoyed a walk organised by the Kasbah as well as three delicious dinners and a couple of days by the pool. The property is situated in a beautiful setting around the Atlas Mountains and the staff is super attentive - both during the day and especially at meal times. The breakfast was a delicious Moroccan offering while dinner offered a la carte menus of Moroccan or international dishes (we had opted for half board and could pick from a Menu of the Day).

Cons: A very minor gripe is that the walk we had booked was much less structured than we’d anticipated. As not very experienced walkers we had picked a more gentle trek but soon realised that the walk was less planned and more off the cuff. Our guide Hassan was incredible so we managed to create a plan that worked for us but bear in mind that the walks as advertised don’t necessarily follow the schedule as set out on the website

Marketing photos can tell a different story. A very average place - asked to contact the driver who was to collect us from the Riad in Marrakech only they did t answer or reply. So, various other calls and messages to sort it. On arrival the reception is looking very tired and had lots of flies flying around. The rooms are very tired - holes in curtains, batteries in air conditioning remotes not working and to top it all off my elderly mother couldn’t lock her room from inside. I reported this to Tim who proudly told me that he never locks his room but that he would get Mohammed to look at it. Not particularly reassuring or relevant for a lady in her late 80s! This never happened and so the door couldn’t be locked from inside. No apology or explanation form Tim but just ignored the problem. The bathrooms are basic - shampoo and shower gel like bathroom cleaner. Pool is ok but the poolside furniture is also tired and uncomfortable. The restaurant was full of flies and moths. Windows could do with a good clean so one could enjoy the view. The local staff try their hardest - food is average. Lots of potential but the place just needs bit of love and attention.

Our family of 6 loved our stay at Kasbah Africa. Sofiane and his staff were friendly and welcoming, and Mohammed was especially kind with my little boys. We stayed in the Berber Cottage, which fit us comfortably but is a bit rustic. The cottage kitchen isn’t very well equipped, but we had the half board package and brought snacks and sandwich stuff for lunches. The staff here all work really hard to give the guests a wonderful experience. The food is delicious, and the setting is relaxing and a wonderful respite from Marrakech. The small number of guests creates a lovely community. My kids loved the pool, skipping rocks in the river, playing games in the lobby, and feeding the tortoises. We didn’t want to leave! Next time, we would skip Marrakech and come straight to Kasbah Africa. :)

Kasbah Africa is a fantastic place to stay, largely thanks to the outstanding service. Sofiane, the manager, was exceptional – attentive, friendly, and incredibly helpful, truly going above and beyond for guests. He sets the standard for what all hotel managers should strive for. The wait staff, Rachid and Majid, were also super friendly, calm, and attentive; nothing was too much trouble for them, and we thoroughly enjoyed their hospitality. While the dinner at the restaurant might not be the main draw, the service was still great, the portions were generous, and the views and location for trekking and relaxing are superb. However, the breakfast was great – one of the best Moroccan hotel breakfasts we had. The pool looks lovely, though it's unheated and therefore quite cool. We heard from other guests that the sky pods are currently being renovated with new windows due to clouding - we didn’t see them but imagine they will look fantastic when the renovation is complete. Our room was lovely – very spacious, cool, and with a large, comfortable bed. We also went on a hike which was well-balanced, and the lunch in the Berber village was a great experience. We did suggest to Sofiane that having extra water available on the longer hikes would be a good idea for the future as we ran out of water early on and had to chug mint tea! It was also lovely to see that Kasbah Africa welcomes everyone, from families with young children to people with their dogs. Overall, we highly recommend Kasbah Africa for its incredible service, stunning location, and as a great base for exploring the Atlas Mountains.

Cons: Only accessibility note, be prepared to go up and down a lot of steps. This will likely not be the best food of your trip to Morocco but the rest of the hotel makes up for it.

We loved absolutely everything about Kasbah Africa. The hotel felt so luxurious whilst staying in such a beautiful location. Our room was beautiful, the pool was beautiful, the gardens were so well maintained, the views are incredible, the food was delicious and the staff are the best team ever. We would highly recommend everyone to stay here if wanting the best service in the most relaxing area of Morocco. Sofiane the manager provided such wonderful support in every possible way. He arranged our transport which was superb, he arranged the walk with tour guide which was fabulous and he also arranged the trip with tour guide to Asni market which was fantastic! I also want to mention the maintenance man Mohammad as he didn’t speak much English but every day he went out of his way to have little chats with us and he was such a kind person. We spend 4 nights at Kasbah Africa in February. We really enjoyed the beautiful landscape, nice local food and very kind and encouraged service. Furthermore they helped us to organise a couple of nice trips to local market and Berber people. Everything worked fine with transfer from airport and to our next destination. The room was appropriate and comfortable. We had a great view every morning at the beautiful landscape. After that we had typical Maroc breakfast with more than the table could carry. They had a couple of animals, like donkey, chicken, peacock and turtles, what was nice for the kids. Several games, tabletennis and Pool Billard were a nice opportunity to enjoy free time. Thanks a lot to the local staff for this extraordinary Moroccan experience!

Cons: The electrical installations sometimes were a little adventurous. But I experienced this all over the country. So I would claim it locally normal. Other than in the images, there were only one telescope for stargazing. But it was technically not useable. What a pity because the night sky was amazing. 'Stray' dogs were a little filthy and annoying. But staff tried best to keep them away.

Excellent hotel, with amazing staff, especially Soffaine the manager. Beautiful surroundings with views of the Atlas Mountain range. Sky dome rooms were nice, large and comfortable with great views. Good, comfort food eating with local cuisine. We went half board, which is great as there are no places nearby to eat as the hotel is in a remote region. Soffaine can organise customised trips and excursions. The hike through the Tourbkal national park is well worth doing. There are some nice local walks available too. Ask Soffaine about the local woman's community (Tamounte) who take 2 weeks to hand make traditional Berber rugs, these are a fraction of the price of the ones in Marrakesh, better quality and help the local ladies. The staff really were exceptional and nothing was too much, make sure you leave a tip.

Wonderful stay with lovely people to host us. The views of the local mountains were amazing with a Berber Village close by, it made incredibly special. We found the staff excellent. very willing and helpful. The grounds seemed well kept. The breakfast excellent, generous and prompt. When the fire was lit, very comfortable too. Location is very quiet.

Cons: We stayed in the tent, we thought it would be a good experience. It was not. There were maintenance issues, some were fixed; but the sink remained hanging off the wall..... The tent window was not the size as shown in the photos and the perspex is now opaque. The accommodation was very cold once the sun set. It was not well sealed to cold air entered, maybe just as well as the only heating was gas (not electric as indicated on their website). All in all this tent had seen better days. We never saw inside, but the the other accommodation looked good.

Nice setting in a mountain valley, you can do various walks in the area. We walked up to Tikhfist on the first day (great panoramic views). On second day, the Kasbah arranged a taxi for us to Tizi Oussem (we requested this the evening before) where you can see snow-capped mountains, and then walked back along the road. It was very interesting to stay at the tent. The tent was very spacious. Hot shower. We didn't swim in the swimming pool in December as it was too cold, but the view was great, with mountains in the background. Dinner was fine (note that you need to order it in advance). It was nice to have a real fireplace in the dining room on a cold evening. Staff (Sofiane) was very nice and welcoming. He arranged the private transfer for us from and to Marrakesh.

Cons: It was very cold in the tent in December, especially as the staff left the window wide open for the whole day before our check in. While the website said that tents have electric heaters, our tent had a gas heater which helped when it was on. But we were not sure it's safe to leave it on during the night, so had to turn it off. In the morning it was so cold that we could see steam from our breath. We still slept well, the warm blankets helped. Service such as check in can be rather slow. Based on the photos, you may think that the tent walls are transparent and that you can see a panoramic view if you open the curtains. It's not the case - the walls are non-transparent and you can only see something if you open the window.

Lovely location. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Wide range of activities on offer. Pool and area around pool was very pleasant. Food was good and a good introduction to Berber cuisine although menu was somewhat limited.

Cons: Some areas of the property required some TLC - e.g. reception area. In speaking with manager he explained that Covid and the earthquake had set back a number of renovation projects. There were a lot of steep steps around the property- this was not a problem for us but would create difficulties for those with mobility issues.

Magical setting on a high bank of the low atlas with a raging river running through it -

Beautiful location, in the middle of the Atlas Mountains. Peaceful and tranquil with amazing views! Great walks with incredibly knowledgeable guides (the mint tea in Hassan’s house was the best experience). Evening card games, pool / snooker, cooking class and just relaxing by the pool- you come here to unwind and reconnect. But the thing that makes this a 5-stat stay is the people. The staff go above and beyond for you. A special thank you to Sofian (main host) and Rashid, who could not wait to greet us with smiles and service all around. Such warm-hearted and honest people! Amazing view and location , dinner was nice. Pool was in a good location. Staff were very nice and friendly. Refrigerator in the room which was nice.

Cons: The sky dome was so dirty you could not see out of it which completely defeats the point of staying in the dome! Seeing as these rooms are a much higher price you would expect to be able to see the view out of them as this was the only reason we chose this hotel. It was one of the most expensive stays we had in Morocco and definitely did not live up to the price. The sky domes should not be charged at a higher price and there should be a disclaimer that they don’t look like the images, also for this price would be nice to have proper chairs or sun beds on the private terrace not old camping chairs . If I hadn’t already paid I would have asked for a discount.

Kasbah Africa is beautifully located on the side of a valley with gorgeous views of part of the Atlas Mountains. It offers a good range of treks, trips and experiences but is also perfect for sitting by the pool and enjoying the restaurant. The food here is a definite plus - the best we ate in our travels round Morocco. The Berber tagine (and delicious Berber omelette for breakfast) are the standout dishes, but there are plenty of other deliciously cooked Moroccan dishes to choose from, including a gorgeously tasty kefta, tomato and egg tagine. What makes Kasbah Africa so special is the attentiveness and professionalism of the staff. Sofiane oversees everything with care and runs a great team. In the restaurant, Omar and Rachid are always front of house, attentive and friendly. A great place to stay - we will be back!

Absolutely everything was amazing!! Being in the pool looking out to endless mountains and the wonderful nature was a dream. We literally spent 6 perfect days just enjoying the swimming pool and gazing at the surrounding environment. The staff were incredible and were constantly bringing clean fresh towels for us while sitting in the pool area. Also the food was super and the waiters would bring us the menus to pre order at 5pm prior to the meal time in the evening. Absolutely everything was done to make our stay and experience seamless. They even had an international food section which suited my 11 year old who is more picky and cautious with new foods so this was a great relief. Sitting outside for the evening meal was glorious as well and no restaurant could top the ambience you get here. The staff would lay the outside tables with white clothes especially for the evening meal which made it feel more special, and just generally the staff were so wonderful with everything throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were well laid out, comfortable and had a small terrace to sit outside the room. Kasbah Africa is quite simply a slice of heaven in Morocco!

Excellent location and great facility, wonderful view from the room, very friendly and helpful staff. The food was good, but not many choices, if you plan to stay for a long period of time. Spent a wonderful time with my 8 yrs old daughter, enjoyed the place, the beauty of the nature around it and the quietness, and enjoyed a 3 hours trek.

Cons: The pool is smaller than expected, and if you don't like bugs, you may avoid it (because of the heat, bugs, and flies try to drink from the pool, and drown, so you swim with floating dead bugs)

This is a beautiful place overlooking the mountains and set up on the hillside (so beware there are a lot of steps for anyone with mobility issues)…but that just makes it all the more magical in terms of what feels like an almost secret location. The pool area has spectacular views and there’s a few loungers and clean towels. Outside seating area for dinner overlooking beat views is lovely - a little fire is made to add to the atmosphere, and we also had local musicians one evening. Our suite was a good size for a family of 4 (two young kids) - but please don’t expect luxury - the photos do make the rooms look a little better than the reality but it has that rustic charm which was perfect for a few days. Beds were comfy. Breakfast was a really lovely spread of traditional Moroccan jams, honey, olives, soft cheese, melon, tomato and cucumber, breads and you can order eggs too. Staff were really really amazing and attentive - super friendly and very sweet. The reason we’re giving this place a better score is because of their wonderful service.

Cons: Unfortunately the floor in the suite does have really uneven tiles with many opportunities to stub toes so be careful! This is obviously part of the decor but not that convenient / comfortable. I can’t see how this will be fixed unless there was a total refurb. There really should be a fridge in the room too to keep drinks cool. The staff are super sweet though and let you store things in the restaurant fridge but of course that’s not the ideal situation for them or you. Somewhere so hot needs a fully accessible fridge in our opinion - especially with little kids. We had a couple of issues with our room so there does need to be a little TLC on it but it was perfectly fine and staff were so lovely and always wanting to help / fix things that we really can’t complain. They made the stay lovely.

Kasbah Location: Beautifully located overlooking a small river and the mountains beyond. Rooms: Comfortable beds with good air conditioning. Restaurant: Simple somewhat limited restaurant menu with choice of local beers and wines. Grounds: Lots of steps because it’s set into the hillside so you need to be able. Pool had filtration problems during our stay but once fixed the pool would also be great. Some comfortable chairs in the shade would be a nice addition. Overall: It’s a more authentic Moroccan hotel than some of the French resort hotels such as La Roserie nearby. Great for a few days stay. Sofiane the manager was particularly helpful and spoke excellent English

fantastic staff, beautiful settings in the middle of the Atlas mountain. Soufiane and his team were as helpful and courteous as you can hope for.

Cons: Being on the edge of the mountain, be aware there are quite a few steps.

Stunning mountain location with walks accessible. Relaxing environment, quiet and within nature. Lovely grounds and cozy accommodation.

Cons: Food and drink ordering could have been smoother. Would've paid extra and in advance for open access to water and other drinks rather than having to ask/order. It wasn't a big deal but sometimes had to find someone to ask.

Warm welcome, laid back atmosphere, lovely location in the foothills. They organised a 2 hour nature walk for us and a transfer back to Marrakech in a better minivan than the one we had hired the day before. The hotel dogs were friendly.

Cons: Dim lighting in bedroom for reading, pillows were not comfortable, floor tiles were painful for bare feet. The water is not drinkable from the taps (but they do provide bottled water for brushing your teeth).

The location is stunning. Very peaceful after the hustle & bustle of Marrakech. Rooms are big & comfortable. Excellent hospitality from Sofiane and Ismail. Good choice of local excursions. Lovely pool area. Good wifi.

Cons: Menu could have been more extensive. We stayed on a full board basis for x4 nights and more variety would have been nice. All the food was lovely though. There is an issue with dogs barking at night time from another property close by. This disrupted our sleep, which, when you're on holiday, is not what you're looking for.

A gorgeously kept property in a beautiful valley. The entire premises were very well kept, both the indoor and outdoor areas. Our room (junior suite) was spacious with a lovely shower, bath amenities, comfortable bed, TV and fireplace (which the staff lit for us so the room would be lit after dinner). Food in the restaurant (dinner and breakfast) was great and plenty, although a little bit more pricey than what you would expect in Morocco. The staf were helpfull and gave us recommendations on hikes in the area. There's also 3 dogs and 1 puppy around, aswell as a very affectionate cat near the rooms.

Awesome location, very peaceful and quiet. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. It is all very well maintained. The rooms are a bit old, but that makes it charming as well. There is a fireplace in the room which is set up while you're having dinner, the nights are chilly in December. Food in the restaurant is very good, we had the traditional tajines. Breakfast same quality.

Cons: The shower is so so and the matras on the bed a bit old. We didn't care too much, because the rest is so great.

Kasbah Africa is set in beautiful gardens in the mountains near Ourigane. The staff are really kind and make a special effort so that you enjoy your stay but are also discreet. The location is perfect for chilling on your terrace, in the gardens or the pool but Kasbah Africa offers also numerous excursions, especially Azzaden valley. It is a place to disconnect from your phone for sure! The bedrooms are really spacious with beautiful views of the mountain. The food is the best I had in Morocco so far.

Cons: There was a little noise in the night from the sweet friendly dogs but when I called them, they came and slept in front of my room 💕.

We absolutely loved Kasbah Africa, set in a beautiful valley location it was a perfect retreat from busy Marrakech. The staff are one of a kind, extremely genuine, helpful and lovely people to talk to. We loved the Kasbahs dogs, who helped guide us on our morning valley walks or sat with us to drink a coffee. We would recommend to anyone who wants a break in nature, with starry skies, good food, and wonderful staff.

Cons: Nothing, it was a lovely stay.

Everything - and I mean everything - about this place was superb. The location is beautiful, peaceful and quiet. The staff are awesome and spoke good English (a big plus because most of Morocco use French when conversing with tourists. The food was great - menu is limited but that did not bother us at all (We’d rather have a few good choices than lots of mediocre ones). The rooms were amongst the cleanest we’ve stayed in in Morocco (we were on a road trip and have stayed at 5 different places ). A big shout out to manager Sofian for running this place well and the awesome waiter Ayou - and is literally the BEST waiter we had in the entire Morocco. He is MORE than a waiter- he could teach a course on customer service. Who knows perhaps one day he may be assistant manager - he certainly has the aptitude.

Cons: Lots of steps - I think this should be clear on the website / when booking. For older people or those (like me) who have joint problems

The view, the surroundings, the mountains and quietness. also the pool was lovely, overlooking the valley

Cons: It was a bit outdated, the rooms smelled ‘old’ and didn’t feel like a clean and cozy place. The food was also not so good, tasteless and lacking in choices of fresh salads. Everything seemed a bit old (even the oranges were dry and old).

We had a fantastic week af Kasbah Africa at the end of March. The location is stunning with amazing views from both the rooms and the swimming pool and garden. A holiday here can be as active or as relaxing as you want it. There is genuine warmth & hospitality here. We were offered dinner in our room one night as it was pouring with rain, to save us braving the weather outside and we were even invited to try the staff's tagine one lunchtime. Thank you so much Redouan (the manager) and the Kasbah Africa team.

We travelled from Marrakech airport to Kasbah Africa by taxi - the journey was lovely with beautiful views of the mountains. However, we arrived at Kasbah Africa and there was no one there - no other guests at all. Admittedly it was low season but it was still a very unsettling experience. From this point onwards our stay got worse and worse. There are no other restaurants, villages or even tiny stalls where you can buy anything so you have to stay at Kasbah Africa. The prices are very very expensive for the quality and quantity of food. We paid 600dh (approx £55) for 1 tagine, 1 salad, 2 apples and a bottle of wine! Avoid the food at all costs because it’s not worth it! We mentioned to the staff that we were very unhappy with the food but we were told we were wrong and that this was normal... We asked for a discount because it really was very bad and one member of staff got very aggressive with us. If we were female travellers we would have felt very intimidated being there. We planned to stay for 2 nights but we left after the first night because of how bad the service was. There are much nicer places with more friendly staff and more to do in the local area. The location is very beautiful but that is it. Since returning to the UK we have asked for some sort of compensation for the bad experience we had but the company that manages the property has ignored our requests. It’s a shame that we have been forced to write such a negative review as Kasbah Africa has potential.

I spent 5 nights at Kasbah Africa and it was a tremendous stay and experience for the value. The rooms are spacious and charming with wood stoves and offer beautiful mountain views. The home-style cooking is very traditional but delicious. Travelers should understand this isn't a bit of a more rustic getaway - as long as they keep that in mind, they will enjoy their stay and the magical surroundings.

Watch the billing on this hotel. I didn't notice "Additional Charges and Taxes" that almost doubled the cost of the room. I complained and was told it came from the hotel. I questioned the hotel and they said they didn't know. The charge wasn't for the kids, nor are the taxes 90% in Morocco. The host asked the owner and he said he didn't know either, but did nothing about it. In the end it was never resolved. No one cared. The room was way too expensive for what it was as a result. The road to the hotel is dirt and fairly bad, though doesn't need a high clearance vehicle if you navigate properly. Passing oncoming cars requires you to stop and edge by in many places. The hotel is 3km up the road. There is no food nearby except at the hotel. Dinner is 200 MAD, lunch 150. This is very expensive for morocco. There is no menu. If you don't like it you're going into town and driving up the road in the dark which isn't really appealing. This made it difficult with kids. After being ripped off on the room rate I wasn't going to pay 200 MAD for dinner. The host was very helpful and gracious. Probably the best thing about the hotel. The location is beautiful. A river flows below the hotel. It's a relaxing place. But the place is more set up for package tours where everything is included and they company that runs it does this. Nice spot but too difficult and no one resolved my billing issue.

This is the worst hotel I have ever been too. 1. First Impressions of the hotel are that you are totally isolated, there is nothing nearby and you will have to make up your own activities. 2. The hotel manager informs you there is no clean drinking water and we would have to buy drinks from the hotel. But we were told “you will be provided with a jug of water to brush your teeth”. In our case this jug of water never arrived and when we asked for water then they offer to sell us bottled water at a premium. 3. The safe in the room did not work even though they warned in the leaflet that you should lock your valuables away so as not to tempt the staff. 4. On arriving in our room we were greeted by a pack warning us of local dress code. 5. The beds were uncomfortable on a double bed two mattresses were at best rubbish and broken. When raised to the manager we were informed it was not a problem for him. 6.The swimming pool was dirty 7. The Kitchen resembled a kitchen from an episode of “Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares” Upon Raising concerns the hotel manager informed us we could move to another location within the group only for the following to occur: Check Out Hidden Costs and very questionable Taxi Charges and exchange rates. The Manager informed us we will be relocated we left the hotel more like refuges than holiday makers however happy to escape the hotel, its staff and its UK owners. Only for them to dump us on the roadside in Marrakech no hotel and a lot of hidden charges

It is located in the secluded area at the bottom of Atlas mountain. The room was spacious and ethnically furnished. Even a telescope was placed for star gazing at night. The place feels like it was trying to conserve and sustain the surrounding nature and the livelihood of the local community. The manager says that most of furnitures and food ingredients were locally produced. However, there are a few downsides. Wifi is not available from the room. When dining, there is a daily set menu (200MAD/15GBP per person) without choice. hotels.com booking stated all taxes were included in the price but we were charged 55MAD extra upon checkout. The manager was friendly but kept on asking for a tripadvisor review for each one of us till we left the site.
