A stunningly beautiful and extremely well serviced riad. The food was delicious: both breakfast and dinner. The staff was friendly, attentive to detail and present for whenever needed. It is truly a gem. Could be an art gallery or a museum. Look no more, you don’t want to miss this place.

The riad is absolutely beautiful on the inside, with stunning mosaics and traditional Moroccan decor. The swimming pool is lovely and adds to the charm of the place. The staff were very kind and accommodating throughout my stay. While the location inside the Medina is picturesque, it can be a bit inconvenient—GPS doesn’t work well in the narrow alleys. However, the riad does help by sending local young men to guide you to and from the property, which is incredibly helpful (be sure to tip them). If you have early excursions, they’ll even prepare a takeaway breakfast for you, which is a thoughtful touch. The air conditioning worked exceptionally well—much better than other places I’ve stayed in Morocco. Overall, I definitely recommend this riad for its beauty, comfort, and hospitality. Just be prepared for a little navigating in and out of the Medina.

We followed our porter through the twilit twisting streets of the Medina for some time before they opened the door to this incredibly opulent Riad! What a gem with ornate and detail-oriented renovated rooms that restored the splendour of this old house. Food was delicious on the rooftop terrace overlooking the Medina. Host was gracious and staff made us feel at home. We wandered through the Medina the next day and it was a true Moroccan experience. Would highly recommend!

Hotel was beautiful historic place. Room was very good, food was average and most of the staff were very good. Samir in particular (brother of owner) was very helpful. Had an issue with one younger guy working the evening shift who was rude when I knocked on the door at 8:55 p.m. after dinner and told me to be quiet and also didn't organize a breakfast for my day trip the next morning as promised (too busy sleeping on the sofa).

The facilities at Riad Rcif are absolutely breathtaking. Feels like staying in a (very comfortable) museum. Also the best A/C and best showers we had in all of Morocco. I normally don’t like pushy help, but the owner’s insistence that we eat at the nearby restaurant and use his volunteer guides was invaluable. I never have trouble navigating new spaces, but the medina is insanely easy to get lost in.

It's buried in the heart of the Medina and therefore difficult to access. The service was fairly poor with the manager sleeping at checkout time. We also weren't shown to our room but left in the reception area drinking the complementary tea upon arrival. The upstairs terrace for breakfast is good.

Riad Rcif in Fez, Morocco is a true gem that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a luxurious and authentic Moroccan experience. From the moment you step through the door, you are transported to a serene oasis that is beautifully decorated with traditional Moroccan furnishings and artwork. The Riad's courtyard is especially breathtaking, with its tranquil pool and lush greenery that creates a peaceful atmosphere. One of the standout features of Riad Rcif is its excellent staff, who go above and beyond to ensure that guests have an enjoyable stay. In particular, Aymane is a member of staff who truly stands out. He is an exceptional host who greets guests with a warm smile and provides helpful recommendations on places to see and things to do in Fez. Aymane is dedicated to making guests feel comfortable and at home, and his attention to detail is evident in the small touches that he adds to each guest's experience. Overall, I highly recommend Riad Rcif to anyone visiting Fez. Its beautiful architecture, stunning decor, and exceptional staff make for an unforgettable stay. And with Aymane as a part of the team, you are sure to be well taken care of and made to feel right at home.

We had an incredible stay at Riad Rcif. Finding the Riad is a bit overwhelming at first as the Medina is chaotic and tight. Keep your head up and you’ll eventually see signs for Riad Rcif and Alif, which are sister properties. Follow these signs! Don’t let people try to guide you as they will ask for money. The signs are very clearly laid out, thank you to the hotel team! The sign “Place Rcif” take you back out of the Medina. Once you find the Riad….it’s even better than the photos, which is rare! The site is gorgeous, but the best part are the staff working there - they are so warm, helpful and kind. Hassan helped us with finding the parking lot, Ayman was always available for restaurant recommendations and the whole team (including their younger friend whose name we missed) were always smiling and making our days better, especially at breakfast! Props to the team. It’s important to manage your expectations when booking any Riad in the Medina - it’s loud, old and confusing. If you’re okay with this, you’ll have an incredible time exploring! A word of caution about the tour guide the hotel recommends - it is a commercial tour. This was interesting, as we saw leather, copper, weaving, ceramic districts etc, but may not be for everyone. The tour is 250MAD for 4 people for 3 hours, but he also gets you to pay 160MAD in advance to cover your “entrance fees”. Parking is ~10min walk, 30MAD/day. Lovely attendants and we felt totally safe leaving our car there.

Beautiful hotel, like staying in a royal palace. Staff was amazing, took care of every request. Huge rooms, hot water, comfortable bed. Our only complaints were the lighting is very dim in the rooms, and our shower had only 1/4 of a glass door so it was very difficult to not get water all over the floor. Location is well marked but still very easy to get lost in the medina of fes, be prepared and dont get hustled by locals for help finding the place, call the hotel or text on whatsapp and they will make sure you get what you need or come and meet you… Also amazing view from rooftop terrace of entire old city, and great breakfast included

Loved this riad, and the staff were so friendly and helpful, and went above and beyond to make our stay there good. The only drawback is the location! Its definitely hidden inside the medina through windy pathways, and our first day there was a disaster, trying to find the place with our luggage on google maps, and hauling our luggage there (think at one point we wound up accidentally going through the fish market with our luggage!). Word of advice: hire one of the porters to take you to the riad (should be between 10-30 dhs, but will be worth it until you know how to get there yourself). Also, the riad offers tour of the medina, through a guide they use, called Abdul. I don't recommend him because he overcharged us for the taxis we took (if the meter said 15dhs, he asked us to pay the taxi 30 dhs), and did something similar when we grabbed sandwiches.Perhaps he assumes that because you're a tourist, you can afford to pay extra? Wasn't impressed with this! The Riad itself though, was great, breakfast was good, and would recommend it.

The location of this hotel is really hard for us to find. Fès Médina is the most difficult Médina in Morocco. We are lost in the Médina at mid night with large luggage. When we call the number of the hotel the man who answer the phone ask us to settle this problem by ourselves impolitely. But when we reached the hotel, the staff are friendly. The hotel is so beautiful, just like what we saw in Marrakech palace. The hotel supply very stable hot water for bathing! And they provide very good breakfast. When we left the hotel, we finally got help from the hotel staff show the direction for a taxi. I recommend the hotel should provide a Fès-Médina map for guest, maybe this make guest much more easier to find the right way.

The property was lovely. It was so special to spend time in a beautifully restored riad from the 14th century. How often do you get to do that? But as nice as the riad was and the amenities they had to offer, the staff was incredible. Each of them was amazingly kind and helpful. They really made the stay extra special.

Hotel is decorated with Moroccan flair and charm. The gentleman that checked us in was super friendly and helpful. At check-in, they served Moroccan mint tea with sweets. Room is spacious for our family of four. We had dinner in the hotel and it was abundant and delicious. The staff was great, friendly and sociable. Breakfast was more than expected and served in the beautiful room. Overall, we were very please with the hotel. It’s location is a bit confusion when you enter the Medina but just pay someone a few Euro to bring you to the Riad.

It is wonderful riad that I stayed in Fez. The riad like an art piece, very beautiful. The room is big , clean, silent and very cosy. I enjoyed the sunset at the terrace. I love the breakfast, very tasty. The staff service is good. Especially a staff called Anas, he is helpful, gentle and I had a good impression on his friendly smile, he made me just like stay at home. He was aggressive to help us when we were facing some problem , and explained very detailed to make sure we understand. So thanks for him a lot.

The riad is stunning but is located at the wrong end of the medina for access to restaurants etc and is down several, dark, winding alleyways which are daunting at night. The staff, especially the ‘boss’ are rude, surly and unhelpful which is a shame as the interior of the riad is beautiful and it could be an oasis if the staff were friendly and helpful. I won’t be staying there on my next visit.

Our experience in Fez has been most memorable because of Faisal, the owner of Riad Rcif....right from the beginning to the very end, the service, the food, the comfort and most of all the glamourous old school charm of this place will make you come back here again and again. His suggestion for not only Fez but also the rest of Morocco are travelling with us even after we left the place. He introduced us to the best guide, Rachid and also the best touring agency, Pristigea Tours (Ibrahim and Hamid) who we are using for the rest of our trip in Morocco. Faisal was so attentive about each and every guest from welcoming them personally to saying goodbye warmly. We talked to him from the airport and found his very professional staff waiting for us at the brim of the old town for guidance and help with the luggage. The food at the Riad is also spectacularly presented and fresh. Rooftop terrace has the most amazing views and photo ops ..not to forget the pigeons and turtles to add to the charm. The lights, the tile work ...just breathtaking. Most of all it was Faisal and his staff, the personalized and kind attention which won our hearts. Definitely coming back here with other family members.

The place itself was aesthetically appealing and clean, but our stay here was anything but pleasant. The first thing that happened was the staff setting us up with a hustler who pretended to be a manager at the place. The hustler came to meet us at the hotel and it was difficult to get away from him. None of the staff members intervened or said anything. The hustler than took us to a variety of shops, trying to rope us into some sort of sketchy underground antique business. Furthermore, the staff was highly unhelpful. Fes medina is really difficult to navigate and Riad Rcif is right in the middle of it. When we were navigating it at night, we had men following us and trying to "help us," which was a pretty scary situation. We then called the Riad for assistance but they essentially refused to help us at all, leaving us on our own. They gave us inadequate direction and told us to figure things out by ourselves. Additionally, the staff neglected to mention that some of the gates in the medina close at night, exacerbating the difficulties of navigating. The main staff person we communicated with was always very short with us. We didn't have many demands or questions but he clearly didn't want to talk to us and gave unhelpful, short, and curt answers. They also forgot to turn on the hot water the first night. We would not recommend staying here. In general, we would recommend seeking accommodations outside the medina if you want an anxiety free stay.

We loved very much the architecture. Our room's bathroom was located atop steep steps. It's a challenge mounting these steps in order to reach the bathroom. It's even more a challenge in the darkness of the night. I can see why this might be a huge problem for people who are elderly, or are challenged physically. Guests should be informed so that they can select the room that suits their needs best.

-the room is really small. - the ceilings are very low, less 2 meters high - the bed is very small (both narrow and short) - the windows are tiny - there's no sound isolation. Due to the nature of the property, all windows are inside, which makes the noise resonate. The staff are absolutely not sensitive to this issue -they shout to each other across the property at all hours. - I was charged extra at checkout, even though all taxes and charges were supposed to be included (as per reservation)

This Riad is amazing, the spaces are grand and palatial. The plumbing and air conditioning is modern. The food served up on the terrace is also wonderful. The difficulty is that the location is in the most confusing part of the Medina (old city) and the local neighbors pounce on tourists and insist on being their guides and won't take no for an answer and once they get you to the hotel they insist on "paper" meaning bills, not coins, and they will threaten you if you don't pay. The Riad (Hotel) gave us an awful map which pretty much insured we were constantly lost once we left the premises. Do your homework and get the best possible maps before going there and realize that the labyrinth of the medina is so complex that not even GPS works in that locale. Once you've arrived go and memorize the way to Boulevard ben Mohammed Alouse (sp?) so at least you know one way out of the medina!

The Riad is beautiful, as you see on the pictures. Room smells, but you cannot expect more since the medina is so packed and there is no window to the outside. Windows open towards the lobby/common area of the Riad. The owner is just not very nice. He is a snake oil salesman. He is very pushy. He tried to get us to the Medina Tour (for 250 MAD, about 3-4 hours). You can get a guide for 200 or less. Price for lunch is the most expensive one we had during our entire trip. One order is about 225 - 400 MAD. Water costs 15 MAD. Food quality is not bad but much expensive than Rick's Cafe in Casablanca, which provides much better atmosphere and food. One nice thing is staff will walk you to the taxi (help with your luggage) and try to get a taxi by meter so no need to bargain.

Deep in the allies of Fez's oldtown lays this most stunning Riad, it's beautiful, clean, very friendly and helpful staff and great authentic food. Keep in mind this not your everyday franchise hotel, it's family owned and operated. So, maybe no midnight room service and such. It's not accessible by car (being in the old town, no cars are allowed or can reach).

Watch out for the manager who will try to commandeer your outside trips and charge you astronomically wherever he can. We asked for a late checkout for my 80-year-old mother who was leaving 12 hours after us -- and he charged MORE than a full day's rate -- in cash. Because he knew we would pay it. Begrudgingly. NOT COOL.

I absolutely loved my stay here! It was my first stop in Morocco and the staff went above and beyond to make sure I was happy and comfortable, they also helped me arrange excursions outside of the city. After returning from an excursion it felt like coming home :) Yahya was so incredibly helpful in telling me the best places to go or in getting me a taxi or checking train schedules, or just to have a chat with. The rooms are beautiful. I took one of the smaller rooms and it suited me just fine. The water in the shower was always warm. They also have a great hammam and gommage you can book! The food is unreal as well. I always had my breakfast and dinner here during my stay because it was so fantastic. I would return to Fes just to stay in this riad again. Beautiful roof terrace as well.

The riad was a pretty, but beyond that nothing was near 4-star. The bed was uncomfortable, the room was dirty, the safe and AC units didn't work, things were not punctual, etc. The staff was nice (especially Hassan) but still wasn't what we had expected.

This Riad was beautiful, very decorated with antique moorish motifs. It was very clean and the service people were nice and polite. The breakfast was good and with a variety of foods. The location was not as good. We couldn't go out without a guide or return to the hotel without being met at the traffic street outside the Medina. Very confusing to find it. Although there were signs, they were not easy to find.

We were dropped off at the pharmacy after which we had to trek for about 10 minutes through a maze of crisscrossing lanes and allies in the neighborhood before we finally reached the Riad. The neighborhood looked very sketchy but the Riad was absolutely brilliant. Colorful, artsy decor, great service and a clean and comfortable stay overall. Taking a shower was a bit tricky because there was no shower curtain around the tub - wasn't a big deal though. They offer dinner service for a great price as well in case you're feeling beat and want to have a relaxing evening in the Riad itself. We highly recommend enjoying the delicious, homemade fare that's cooked by Mama Fatima in the Riad - we covered quite a bit of Morocco in 10 days starting up north from Tangier going down to the desert and we think the food at Rcif was THE best we had in our entire vacation!

Well. This is a tough one. We were excited to arrive but when we called there was no answer. We eventually found someone to show us the way. The Medina can be a little intimidating when your first experience is at night at the mercy of a couple young men. In the end the boys showed us right to the door. We saw all the beautiful pictures beforehand just like you. It was beautiful but hard to see. It was always very dark, always very damp and not very comfortable. Bottom line. We stayed at much better Riads much less and the owner is a snake oil salesman. Don't trust him for a moment. I could go on but I would like to forget this place. Don't stay here.

Really enjoyed our stay here. As it's in the Fes Medina you'll likely need a guide to get you to the front door. If you call enroute from the airport or train station someone will be waiting for you in Place Rcif. If not, email them and they'll arrange it. They can also arrange a car/driver to meet you. The hotel has 8 very lovely guest rooms in a restored mansion. Exquisite artistic touches. The mint tea and cookies served in the courtyard upon arrival were a great touch. The owner is often on-site to answer questions about the property or Fes. They really seem interested in making guests feel at home although if you don't like this touchy-feely approach you should stay in a large, impersonal hotel! Breakfast was quite nice and varied daily. Plenty to fuel you until lunchtime. The rooms are what I had dreamed a room in the Fes Medina might be like. Many mod cons, free wifi, and satellite TV. A few items in the room needed attention/repair from use and while there's a lovely rooftop terrace where you can enjoy dinner, the prices are a bit steep. I realize it's homecooked and nearly gourmet, but it was surprising to see 270+ dirhams for a set dinner in Morocco. The signage he has installed about the Medina make it incredibly easy to find your way back to the Riad Rcif and to the Place Rcif. Follow these and you won't need a guide to get you home. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay here in the future.

We thoroughly enjoyed the calmness and beauty of this riad. The terrace has a wonderful view over the city and the meal served by Fatima in the kitchen was extraordinary!

From the moment we arrived we were impressed with this Riad. A little hard to find to begin with but there are signs everywhere from the correct passageway once you find it near Place Rcif. The service was excellent and friendly and meeting other travellers on the roof terrace was one of the highlights. The breakfast and dinner was more than substantial and the view magnificent. The only thing I can say was that the bed was slight hard, but it didn't matter because everything else was amazing. As with all Riad's, bring earplugs if you're noise sensitive as everything echos throughout the open-air courtyard building. Otherwise, I'd stay here again and I'd recommend it to everyone.

Amazing riad. If you want an authentic riad we recommend it. The service and the staff were excellent. During the stay it is expected, but they were extremely helpful with the preparation prior to our trip. They helped us find a knowledgeable guide for the media tour. Also, when the airline canceled our direct flight to Fes and we had to fly into Casablanca, they helped us find a car and driver willing to pick us up from the airport at 10 PM and drive us all the way (3hours +) to the riad. I have to acknowledge Khadija’s prompt e-mail exchange in the process of making all the arrangements. .

The Riad is all I was looking for: an authentic moroccan house in which we experienced a blend of flavors, colors and magnificent architecture and decoration. The people at the Riad are very hospitable and kind, always trying to make your stay as homy as possible. I would definately come back again!
