OMG…what an awesome riad. Close/walkable to all that Fes has to offer, including sights and restaurants. We were on the top floor with private terrace that had beautiful views. Highlight was the owner, Souad, who was always so gracious and sweet and gave superb recommendations for food. The courtyard was fantastic and a peaceful oasis from the hectic medina at the end of the day. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

I just spent 3 weeks in Morocco and this was my favorite place I stayed on the entire trip. It’s beautiful! The beds were comfy compared to most others I slept on in Morocco. Couldn’t speak to breakfast bc the bed was so comfy I missed breakfast. It’s conveniently located a short walk away from the lively area of the Medina but far enough that it’s quiet. Yousef was a very helpful host.

Cons: People speaking in the courtyard could be heard very clearly from my room but I was so tired I mostly slept through it despite being a light sleeper. (Windows were open bc it was nice and cool outside but I could have closed them and turned on AC if I wanted.)

Beautiful internal grounds and wonderful architecture. The original details maintained, with mosaic flooring also on the steps. Wonderful, warm service and breakfast was good!! Two bedrooms were great , offering privacy for the teenage kids Great location for easy downhill access, deeper into the Medina. About 150m to the main road drop off point.

Cons: Spent only two nights there. We should have been longer !

My friends and I stayed at this property. We had a nice check in from a friendly staff member. The room was big with lots of room and the central road area was beautiful. The tiling, garden and pool were beautiful! We ordered lunch and had it inside the riad and had some massages nearby. The staff were very friendly and more than happy to help make our stay relaxing. I would recommend this to all my friends wanting to stay in old town Fes.

We loved everything about Riad Le Sucrier De Fes. The owner Souad is wonderful to chat with, she was communicating with us before we arrived effectively which made getting to Riad easy and finding parking nearby too. The location is perfect as its not in the maze of Medina and its on the outer rim of the Medina. Parking is few hundred meters away and the walking to Riad is flat. The rooms are beautifully done with good quality of toiletries. It was cold and damp when we reached, there are heaters in the room which made the stay comfortable. Souad went out of her way to make us warm water and Moroccan tea upon arrival. The rooms are huge! In Morocco, not all Riads are well maintained, Riad Le Sucrier De Fes is one of the rare find. Breakfast was the best we had in Morocco with variety and quality of home cooked meal. Unlike most Riad's which have paid housekeeper, Souad's (owner) touch at this Riad made a huge difference. She is from Fes and speaks English so she shared so much with us that made our short stay memorable. We wish we had stayed a bit longer.

Cons: The toilet in one of our rooms was on a step that got a bit difficult to use. But that will not stop me to book this Riad again if I visit Fes in future.

A charming building from the 30's that has been converted into a hotel. It has a lovely courtyard. It was pretty cold in Fes while we were there, so the roaring fireplace in the common room and the good heaters in our unit were welcome. The owner arranged for a walking tour. One benefit of the location; it's all downhill through the souks. Then you can hop in a cab and return to the riad.

Great location and amazing Riad! Our host went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care off. She organised us a guided tour through the Medina, that was amazing! The riad is beautiful, quiet and with a great location. We loved the breakfast, it was a great way to start the day! :)

Cons: You can hear the all the noises from outside of your bedroom is next to the street.

Beautiful Riad in the Andalusian style built around a century ago. Nice balcony with our room which was quite sizeable. Lovely staff led by a charming host/owner who was always on hand to assist.

Cons: You need to be able to handle steep stairs for the room with the balcony, but I guess that’s the price you pay for a view ! A small fridge in the room would have been very useful.

Charming Riad (our third and penultimate experience of Riad on a 17 days trip across Morocco) and the most expensive; best marmalade for breakfast - option of soaking pool was nice Youssef was a star- I would give him 10 out of 10 alone

Cons: Relative to other Riads not highest attention to detail in terms of cleaning; and quality of breakfast but we were really spoilt elsewhere- Bathroom needs modernising; showering awkward without screens and bath use difficult without taps-

Our host Soad was very friendly and gave utmost attention to making our stay pleasant as well as recommending places to eat. We particularly appreciated Youssef who helped us to take our bags to the last floor room on the terrace and was extremely helpful in getting the restaurants to send someone to pick us up as some restaurants are very hard to find.

Cons: The steps between the bedroom and bathroom are very dangerous especially in the middle of the night if you don’t remember where the light switch is. The curtains in the top level terrace room let the light in so make sure you have a mask. Lastly.. parking can be hazardous as the attendant, in our case, had us park in a place that blocked people from getting out of the house. Our car was keyed causing significant repaint cost. Make sure you ask Soad to verify where her parking attendant makes you park. The attendants just want your money and don’t necessarily work in your interest.

An old riad. Close to the heart of the medina. Charming. The staff was helpful though language was a bit of a strain. Good suggestions for dinner. A nice, simple breakfast. Our rooom had a rooftop area with a wonderful view.

Beautiful old building with an enchanting courtyard. In short walking distance to the old souk. Large, very clean rooms with comfortable beds. Large bathroom with lots of very hot water. It is a very old building and not perfect, but that is why it is so incredibly charming. The host is extremely helpful and makes everything possible, even a meal at midnight. We enjoyed our stay and can recommend this Riad highly.

Alles in allem definitiv empfehlenswert!

The Riad is a little bit of a challenge to find you will need to park your car on the street and walk into the Medina. Probably get a guide don't pay more then 10 - 20 DH. My son and I were the only guests and it did not look like this Riad gets much use. The manager is the only employee that we saw. When I arrived she was out and my son was locked in and could not let me in. I stood on the street for almost an hour until she returned. The room was spacious however the ceiling was very low and the door ways were quite dangerous for anyone greater than 5'8" tall. The location is quite convenient for the Fes Medina. Breakfast was delicious and homemade.

The hotel is closed! Doe not exist anymore! Phone off hook. No lights on. Waited in the dark at 10 pm after a 7 hour train ride with no answer at the door. Called hotels.com to get a refund, being that I had to find a new hotel at 10:30 at night, and sat on hold for 15 min (called the states from Morocco, so an expensive phone call) for them to tell me someone from the billing department would be in contact in 72 hours. Have not heard from anyone yet. It's been almost 2 weeks.

Whoever rated this hotel 4 star and described it as outstanding is dreaming. This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The room was dank, smelt musty and was cold. There was no television, not even a toilet roll holder. The breakfast was not even continental style. Trying to get into the hotel was a nightmare with keyed system even Houdini could not work out. There was no mention that the hotel could not be accessed by vehicle. All in all the description was misleading and would recommend it to no one. We left after one night preferring to forfeit the night's tariff than spend another night there.
