Another amazing stay at Villa Makassar (our third)! The building and art decor interior is amazing, we enjoy the calm atmosphere and it’s home away from home feel. The staff are amazing Samira and the front of house team make you feel welcome as soon as you arrive and are happy to help you with anything. Ismail, Youssef and Zak in the restaurant are always happy to see you and give exceptional service. The food is delicious and we enjoy all our meals. There are amazing Moroccan wines to discover. The spa is tranquil, a traditional hammam and massage during your stay is a must!!
Cons: Nothing.

We read the reviews about this Hotel on Google and didnt have great expectations, however we found it to be wonderful stay. Room was very comfortable. The food served at dinner and breakfast was fresh and cooked to a very high standard. The Hotel itself was bright and had lots of light unlike many of its competitors, in many Arabic hotels there is minimal light in a bid to keep the rooms cool. The staff could not have been nicer and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. There is a beautiful rooftop terrace with a bar, buzzer on the bar was responded to very quickly. Small but beautiful pool which was so refreshing after walking around the sooks all day. I would encourage you to stay at this Hotel as I truly don't think you will not be dissapointed.

I thought all the staff went the extra mile with no expectation in return, especially Samirah, Jalila, Chakib, Ismail and the chefs. We were vegetarian and they accommodated our every request. The breakfasts were a highlight every morning as they would have something different everyday. So we never got bored of breakfast and it kept us going for the whole day that we saved so much money on lunches. Ibrahim was excellent with the atlas mountain tour that the hotel arranged. The staff felt like my extended family and they made us feel totally relaxed and at home. The location is perfect being in the Medina but not in the hustle bustle noisy part. Also accessible by Taxis. There was a background relaxing piano music. I also loved the background birds tweeting away in the morning – felt like I was sleeping outdoors but indoors. Never have I experienced that, felt at one with nature.
Cons: Bathroom was a little dated, but clean and livable. I believe the rooms were a little bit dark but they accommodated my request and gave me Russeaux the lighter room so no complaints on that front. Phenomenal art deco hotel with attention to detail.

Came away with my dad for 4 days and stayed in Villa makassar and had the most splendid time. Room was lovely and clean, so were other parts of the hotel. Good walking distance from the medina (15 mins). Rooftop sunbathing was great apart from wish there was a pool on the roof instead of hot tub. Breakfasts were very indulgent. Staff overall were so lovely & caring! Would highly reccomend if you’re coming away for a few days :)

A true 5* experience in the traditional sense. This place only has 10 rooms and if you embrace it, you become a member of the family for the duration of your stay. The whole team will go out of their way to make you feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. I was very fortunate to stay in one of the suites and all I can say is WOW! Stunning and very comfortable. Breakfast every morning was tasty and plentiful and all made fresh by the team. Dinner was also excellent - so, so tasty. The Hammam experience was fantastic and I came away feeling refreshed and renewed. The location is a balance of being part of the Medina but without the chaos of the centre. Highly recommended if you’re seeking a traditional riad experience during your travels.

Villa Makassar is an oasis of peace and calm in a fantastic location just inside the Kasbah, in a quietly bustling area and walking distance to many sights. The attention to detail in art deco design is wonderful and the whole place feels luxurious and is so photogenic. The mornings are filled with birdsong and the delicious breakfast on the roof terrace was a delightful start to the day. Best of all, without exception, the staff are kind, welcoming and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. We were sad to leave and would love to return.
Cons: Our room was a bit dark, but that was mainly due to the design of the room which was beautiful. I didn't like the patio heater in the restaurant...I am not sure if that is safe, it didn't smell good and it was too hot! We mainly ate on the roof for breakfast so not a major issue.

What a wonderful few days spent at Villa Makassar! Samira and Issam at Reception were generous with their time and advice, and available at all times. They made sure that every need was catered for - no request was too big or too small. Zakary was there to greet us with a different delicious breakfast each morning and Ismael was always on hand to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. Hidden away in the old town, Villa Makassar is within easy reach of everything you might want to visit in Marrakech. In addition, it is less than a couple of hours away from the Atlas Mountains and Essaouira - which are also a must (Both trips organised with the help of Samira and Issam with a wonderful guide, Brahim.) The jacuzzi on the roof top terrace at the end of an adventure-filled day was absolute bliss. This was my first visit to Marrakech, but certainly not my last. I look forward to seeing you all again soon!

My partner and I stayed here over the Christmas holidays. We both loved it. The hotel is an oasis from the chaos of the city. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful (tea on arrival, waited on hand and foot in the restaurant, drinks brought to our room and even gave us both a gift on our checkout). The breakfast was amazing to the point that we couldn't even fit it all in there was so much provided. It's not too long a walk to the main centre and there were always taxis about outside if you didn't fancy walking it. The room was gorgeous - big bathroom, lovely Moroccan style decor, mini-bar etc The outside area on the roof was awesome with a beautiful view of the mountains. Got to lie in the Jacuzzi, and do some sunbathing with a drink in hand. Would highly recommend a stay here

Stayed for 1 night in Villa Makassar. Very nice and friendly place. Great service from the staff. Beautiful terass. On the negative side, and not to be blamed the Raid, we booked our room from the taxi between Agadir and Marrakech, so we go the last room they had available. The room was small and a bit claustrophobic. If we return again, we will for sure reserve in batter time and make sure to get a suite. All in all, very positive, but to stay more than one night in that small room with limited close to no windows, its not for us.

The room we book was dark and also have a bad looking toilet, the lid was losing the painting and seems like need a new one , we talk to front desk and right away the offer to us a new room “ upgrade “ without shower, only a jacuzzi where you suppose to take a shower , well it didn’t work at all , we call front desk and they send someone to fixed, nothing was resolved. I don’t blame the staff for this , because all of them specially “ Hanna “ doing a GREAT job, the hotel needs repair all over , we ending having a shower outside in the spa , really inconvenient to move around the hotel to take a shower . I want to thank Hanna for all she did from the beginning Was helping me to park my car and show me the streets are pins the medina I hope that the hotel owner will take care of the repairs have to be done ASAP

The room I reserved was a Superior room. One-third of the very small room had an oversized bathtub but no shower. I was told the only other available room was a suite for 50 euro additional. It took 6 hours before my room was made available to me at approximately 5:00 in the evening. Access to electrical outlets to charge devices was very limited, difficult and involved disconnecting lamps to gain access. Since I was leaving for the airport early the next morning, i asked for breakfast at 7:00 that morning and was told that my request would be accommodated. When I arrived that morning, however, i was told that breakfast for me was arranged for 8:00. They managed to get me some breads and coffee after waiting 25 minutes. Very disappointing stay.

We spent two nights with Villa Makassar. We stayed in the luxury room on the ground floor, near the kitchen, on the first night. It was a bit worn out and we could hear the conversation outside our room easily. We notified the staff on the second day and they offered us a standard room on the 1st floor. Though we can still hear conversations when people walk around, the frequencies were much lower and we can have a good sleep. All staff are nice with great hospitality, and listens to our comments and feedbacks. We also booked a car for dinner to Al Fassia. The driver is also very nice and they offered us a phone to call them when we finish the dinner so that he can picked us up back to the hotel. It is walkable to the old medina in about 20 minutes, but it would be safer to take a taxi or the hotel's car at night.

Can I say BELINDA BELINDA BELINDA! Really enjoyed my stay here. I went in September so wasn’t many people around due to school starting again all over. The staff was so nice, accommodating and attentive. We wanted to do local stuff so we spoke with the director who booked our excursions( when in Morocco be Moroccan). Please speak with Belinda she’s get you good price with legit people for anything you want to do. We did traditional cooking class, camel rides, tours and the SPA! You have to visit the villas spa. The room was ALWAYS clean sometimes twice a day. The villa itself is gorgeous. However the selling point is the amazing staff. Belinda runs the villa and is so full of life that you can get caught talking for hours! You have to try Rasheed Mojitos (DELICIOUS) Overall my stay was amazing and I will be back here! Already looking to book for the new year.

Hotel was in the middle of old medina, small, all rooms were cold, cockroaches seen in courtyard, minimum staffing levels so everything took at least an hour to be received. We moved hotels after just 24hours. Would not recommend at all

Great hosts, helped make reservations at Al-Fassia for dinner. I did catch a charge for an airport transfer we did not use. Also I asked for a taxi to the airport but instead almost was charged for an airport transfer (again). The room we had was an inner courtyard that didn’t have much light and we overlooked the kitchen/staff quarters, so not much for views. A bit of a walk from the Medina, which was nice for us but may not be for everyone who want to be closer.

Very little to fault here, apart, perhaps, that the hotel feels slightly austere in so far as its public spaces are far more extensive than the 10 rooms require. Aesthetically, it is beautiful, but there's a slight lack of ambiance, owing to the fact that there are so few guests around. Service is impeccable and friendly.

Beautiful Riad/Villa in an Art Deco boutique style, lovely roof top terrace with outdoor hot tub. Staff very attentive with only 10 rooms you are treated like royalty. The restaurant is highly rated amongst fine dining experiences. We received an upgrade to a suite on our last night. The location is great in the Kasbah close to the souks and good restaurants.

Our stay at the Villa Makassar was beyond our expectations. First of, the Art Deco architecture was very well put together; even in the Souks and Kasbah. After a tiring day, arriving at this hotel always felt like a sanctuary. Furthermore, the help of the staff was always impeccable; with special thanks to ZİNEB and AZİZ. They always went further and beyond to help us; booked our restaurants for every single nite and they were all incredible. Thanks for the hospitality!!!

Wonderful Staff, beautiful rooms, we had a junior suite and a standard room (Nothing about the rooms are standard! they are beautiful) , anything we wished for the Staff at the hotel made sure we got, Housekeeping not only cleaned our rooms, they even iron the shirt we left out on the armchair. As a General Manager of a 5* Hotel myself, It is my pleasure to recommend this gorgeous little hotel to anyone who appreciates style, architecture, good service and tasteful decor.

The hotel is ideally situated in the Kasbah area of Marrakesh....very good for all the main sites to see in the Medina....and very safe. Villa Makassar is very Art Deco and all the staff provide excellent customer service. Our experience got off to a bad start as we were picked up at the airport by a driver from the hotel. We had booked to be met by a company Easy Transfers. I showed the driver our paperwork and he readily agreed to take us to the hotel. Little did we know we had taken someone else's taxi. The upshot is that despite paying in advance for an airport transfer we were then charged again for the hotels own taxi. One of life's experiences We suppose but the driver should have clearly established who we were....holding up a sign saying Villa Makassar without any guest names is simply not good enough. The hotel is ideally situated for the airport being only 10-15 mins away. On he downside the pool area was a little disappointing (dark and small) and whilst the roof terrace was big it needed more softer landscaping. At night despite the hotel being nearly full there were very few lights/ candles around to create a welcoming atmosphere. Having said all that the staff were all very helpful and we would definitely be happy to return.

It is a nice, comfortable and quiet hotel, designed in Art Deco style -- a tribute to an era. Jamaa al Fnaa is a good 20 mn away walking, but you can always catch a petit taxi which will shorten the transfer time at a low price.

As regular travellers, we had high expectations, however, this hotel did not meet our expectations. We booked a top room but found we needed to supplement the room with bottled water, tea bags etc. additionally, although the room had satellite coverage only two English channels were watchable ( both news). The breakfast menu/choice was extremely disappointing, no available cereals with the main choice consisting of a mixture of breads and jam. On our morning of departure we requested an early morning call (never received), and breakfast in the room only to find it had been laid out in the restaurant 10 minutes before departure.

It was like stepping into another world, tranquil, beautiful art deco design and style, fantastic staff who were so helpful and pleasant! The room was spacious and beautifully decorated, perfect! The only disappointment was the food, very disappointing! If they resolved the food, it would be a perfect base in Marrakech!

We have just returned from a wonderful 4 day stay at this lovely hotel. Fantastic staff, very attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The first room we were given was a little dark but as soon as they were made aware of this we were offered an alternative which was not only lighter but also much bigger. Rooms were kept immaculately clean with linens changed daily. Breakfasts were great with a selection of bread, pastries and pancakes served with freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee or tea. Eggs were also on the menu, cooked to your preference. The omelettes were very good! We ate dinner in the restaurant on two occasions and the food is Michelin star quality at very reasonable prices. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for some winter sun. We had beautiful weather for the duration of our stay and enjoyed spending time on the large roof terrace. The location is perfect for walking to the main square and other tourist attractions. The staff speak English which was a great help! Thank you Claudine and Yusuf for making our stay so enjoyable.

As soon as we arrived at the airport and were met by our transfer we knew we were in for a good week so headed to the hotel with positive vibes! On arrival we were welcomed with traditional Moroccan tea and told about excursions available before given a tour of the hotel and finally being shown to our room - what a fantastic start! Our room was compact but had everything we needed for a four night stay including a large shower and bath robes, both of which are a thumbs up from me. The hotel staff could not have been friendlier and were so attentive to your every need, nothing was too much. They arranged all our tours and the providers were all great. We tested out the Hammam/Sauna and the Jacuzzi plus I had a facial and a massage in the spa which were both lovely. We'd love to return to Villa Makassar in the summer months when we can make more use of the roof terrace and sun beds! One last thing - a BIG thank you to all at Villa Makassar who made our stay superb :)

Very beautiful villa, very quiet, it's in a very busy area but you don't hear a thing once inside. We had a transfer arranged from the airport by the hotel, it's less than a 20min drive to the hotel. We arrived earlier than the check in time and were given tea and a tour of the hotel and spa whilst they were getting the room ready. The roof top terrace is to die for! He also advised us of the best places to visits whilst in Marrakech. We stayed in a twin room, beds are very comfortable. The room was cleaned more than once a day and the hotel itself is generally very clean. We only had 2 meals at the hotel- lunch and breakfast. The lunch was very good, breakfast the next day was ok- will be good if you like sweet stuff for breakfast. They also offered to prepare some eggs for us, guess I just missed sausages! Everything else was fine. ALL The staff go out of their way to ensure you have a nice stay. Nothing is too much to ask for and there is always someone at reception to help. Staff would call a taxi for us whenever we were leaving the hotel, most places cost between 30-50 dirhams in a cab. I would suggest you keep the cab drivers card and use it to return to the hotel. If you want to stay somewhere near all the clubs etc then stay nearer Hivernage. I actually enjoyed visiting those other (louder) places and coming back to this lovely quiet sanctuary. Unfortunately I haven't much time to write a more deserving review of this hotel, but I do fully recommend it!

Really helpful staff, they arranged for us to eat on the roof terrace when nobody else was eating up there. However, it was well fitted out and extremly clean.

From the moment we arrived at Villa Makassar it was clear that it was everything we wanted and more. The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly, and the whole atmosphere around the riad was incredibly relaxing. Everything was spotless, and you could see from the hard work the cleaners do that keeps everything that way. The food was delicious, really well presented and they really will cook you anything you want! A really relaxed, romantic atmosphere in the evenings which included being serenaded by a member of staff from the riad! Overall, we would have loved to have stayed longer and will hopefully return one day soon.

I have to admit I was a bit apprehensive about going to Marrakech because I was outside my comfort zone. However, I was proven wrong. Yes the souks are an eye opener and you will get lost but everything leads back to the square so go with it. Villa Makassar is in the medina close to the Kings palace a great location with excellent staff that can't do enough for you. We stayed in grand suite, which is bigger than the average room and recommended for a short stay and worth the extra cost. Also make use of the hotels spas after a day in the souks, you will feel even more relaxed. Villa makassar will also organise any excursions for you where you will be picked up from your hotel and returned, make sure you go to the Atlas Mountains, go on a Friday as you stop off at a Berber market and house a reel eye opener which will make you appreciate how lucky we are!!! If you want to buy a rug hold fire from the souks in the mountains you don't pay tax but take cash!!!

Wonderfully welcoming staff . We had an enormous suit and although the weather was very disappointing every effort, log fires, gas heaters was made to keep us warm. The spa and treatments were greatly enjoyed. Unfortunately the sun deck couldn't be used much and it would have had to be much hotter to swim in the unheated pool. The Resteraunt served an enjoyable breakfast and a good selection nicely presented for dinner. It was nice to come back to an oasis of calm from the bustle of the Kasbah. The lighting in the bedrooms could be brighter but unfortunately because of the cold and wet weather we certainly didn't see the hotel and Marrakech at its best

A hidden gem in Marrakech, we were so stunned to find such a wonderful place hidden behind a door in the dusty street. It really does feel like you are in the middle of nowhere once the door closes on all the noise and excitement from the busy Marrakech streets - despite the open courtyards and the roof terrace. It really is a calm place to be when you want to escape the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. But equally you are in the midst of it all when you want to be, so close to all the things that you must see when you visit Marrakech - the square, the palaces, snake charmers the lot because you are in the Medina itself. We needed to get away from the cold and rain of Scotland for a few days and it turned out to be a fantastic last minute choice. We relaxed in the spa and had the Royal Makassar Hamman, which was a great experience, didn't even bother to go out that day just enjoyed the hotel, the spa and its wonderful food in the restaurant. The other two days we enjoyed seeing the sights, eating local food, buying some spices and enjoying the warmth. Marrakech is not "full of thieves, beggars, dirty etc etc" as some people would like to portray it (I have read the reviews) - you just need to appreciate the culture and be a bit savvy and RELAX.

My wife and stayed here for a birthday treat. The hotel is simply superb - peaceful - opulently furnished and only a 15 walk to the central square. We ate in the restaurant one night and both the food and service were excellent. The hotel kindly made my wife a birthday cake which was a thoughtful touch. The spa facilities are also very good and I recommend the Turkish bath style wash and scrub. The reception team were lovely and the Moroccan tea on arrival was most welcome. We will stay here again.

Hotel is very well located in older part of city. Close enough souks and main square, without being in it. great cafe on corner (Clock Cafe), very upscale restaurant next store with garden. Summertime would be really fun as they have nice pool, and roof deck with bar. Rooms are fine, although ours lacked a shower. Morcoccans are big on baths. Breakfast is a little relentless on breads. Staff are great, very responsive, highly accommodating. A real solid choice.

We stayed at villa Makassar around the New Years time. The plan was to ring in the new year with the locals in jemaa el fna but we instead went for the New Years party organised by the riad. The night was an absolute delight. From traditional Berber performers, to live music and belly dancing, it had it all. Location wise, the riad is perfectly located. Lots of things to see around, and the main square is only a brisk 15 minute walk away. Being tucked away from the hustle and bustle behind the riad walls, it felt like a natural retreat. We personally liked waking up to the sound of chirping birds. All the above aside, the main thing as far as we are concerned, that stands out for this riad is their top class service. The wait staff, the people at the reception, really do put customers at the heart of what they do, and leave no stone unturned to ensure that the stay is a memorable one. My partner, who is vegatarian, had vegatarian dishes prepared for her that weren't on the menu. Also, when she asked for a hair conditioner, that wasn't included in the room toiletries, the hotel staff actually went and got it from an outside shop. I highly recommend this riad to anyone on their first trip or on a return trip to Marrakech. Staying here makes you feel like Marrakech is home.

You really feel at home in this stylish art déco Riad -.management and personnel are doing everything to make you confortable and welcome. Great value for money. We were staying in a luxury double suite (over 900 sq ft) - so large you think you sleep in a hotel lobby :) Some minor service details to be improved: - a phone should be installed on the terrace so that customers can order food / drinks without looking for the servers in the restaurant located two floors below - The bang and olufsen TV available in the suite was amazing 15 years ago but a flat screen would be better

A fantastic oasis of calm in the heart of Marrakech. Step in off a dusty street in the Kasbah, and you find yourself in an art deco haven of wonderful rooms, furniture, spaces and relaxation. Lovely welcome and wonderful service, with huge, comfortable room - ask for the biggest room! Food was great and it was nice to be able to have breakfast wherever we wanted - roof terrace, courtyard, dining room - depending on what we felt like on the day. With only a small number of rooms, you get a really personal service and all the staff make you feel valued and special. I wouldn't say that it's a place to take children - but that's maybe more out of selfishness to keep it calm, adult and special than the fact they may not like it! Quentin and his wife, who manage the hotel, could not do more to help and were lovely. They recommended places to see and eat, but also arranged personal tour guides and day trips for us. I thoroughly recommend the Villa Makassar!

Villa Makassar was a intimate and lovely riad to stay in Marrakech. From the very moment we arrived we were greeted by the manager with tea and sweets and given a tour of the riad & room. Everything was excellent. The only fault I could give is that the riad is at the bottom of the medina which is a bit of walk if you aren't that young (we liked the location) to the main square.

Chose this Riad based on Trip Advisor comments and we were not disappointed! Paid a bit extra for a Luxury suite which was enormous and fabulous. All the staff were very friendly but were never 'in your face' yet the minute we wanted something they were there. It was so peaceful that it was hard to believe that we were so close to the real hustle and bustle of the heart of Marrakech - a 15 minute walk away. The roof-top terrace was a wonderful place to relax and sunbathe after a morning in the Souks! We stayed for 5 nights and ate dinner there twice - choosing traditional Morrocan food which was delicious. We experienced a traditional Hammam in the Spa, which was a great experience! A very chilled out sort of hotel with only 10 rooms so sometimes you feel like you have it all to yourself! Absolutely perfect!

Nestled in the midst of the chaos of the Medina, and within 15 mins walking distance of the Jemaa el Fna, entering the Villa Makassar is like stepping into a world away, in a forgotten time, but yet familiar and comfortable like your own home. The riad is meticulously decorated in the art deco style, with hidden nooks and crannies for you to hide away and relax, including the spa. Each room & bathrooms are individually styled & a treasure trove of interesting pieces. The meals freshly cooked on site are delicious (cookery lessons are available at request), and the hospitality is impeccable, with attention focused on the client's wishes and needs, which are often pre empted. The staff are courteous and polite, and make you feel special.

We loved the Hotel Makassar. It is just beautiful with wonderful service in a great location to explore Marrakech. It was a treat to be able to take our breakfast on the roof terrace as well as in the dining room downstairs. We loved that we could open our windows at night and sleep in the fresh air. Our only complaint at all is that there is not enough light in the rooms. It's hard to see anywhere except the bathroom.

We spent a couple of nights here. We wanted to be within walking distance of The Square but in a sophisticated environment! This was it! A modern hideaway - with all of the Marrakech style one could ask for!! The suite we stayed in was roomy - great bed, nice bathroom, extra sitting areas. There were some slight anomalies - we couldn't turn the bedside lights off without unplugging them, the shower, while really beautiful - was a bit of a hassle. However, it was a pretty place! We ate breakfast and dinner in the hotel - great choices! At dinner, a wonderful man plays guitar and sings - even if you are on your own! One of the best experiences? My husband and I had a couples hammam. It was a most perfect, wonderful experience!! I have had plenty of hammams but never as great as this one!!

Beautiful, museum-like, incredible design and decorating. Fantastic staff, great service, decent location, the breakfast was so, so, but they made eggs for me, I didn't like not having a stand up shower in my room, but jacuzzi and hamman were nice, spa was good, I also didn't like the rectangular toilet in my room. Poor start, they forgot to collect us from the airport, when I phoned they denied I'd booked a transfer, but as their confirmation e mail was on my I phone this annoyed me. Generally the staff tried very hard to please, cheerful, nothing was too much trouble. The photos however implied an outdoor pool with sun-loungers, a priority for me. The pool was on the ground floor, completely in the shade and looked murky, the sun loungers on the roof terrace, I had assumed wrongly the two were together. Not given a front door key, you rang the bell or knocked and waited. This was occasionally unpleasant as if you were being hassled by local men ( yes I was a woman travelling with my teenage daughter) you felt trapped until someone let you in. Kind lovely people, but I came away disappointed.

Having a job which involves a lot of travel all over the world, it's fair to say that I have stayed at some nice hotels. I'm not over exaggerating in saying that Villa Makassar is possibly one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. The Villa is decorated in an Art Deco theme, and easily compares with other world's great Art Deco hotels - Claridges etc. You get the feeling that everything within the hotel has been meticulously chosen, it really is a love letter to the theme of Art Deco. In terms of the service, the staff are excellent and are always keen to help and make your stay as comfortable as possible. The food is also top notch with some excellent tagines (try the lemon chicken and olive), and they also do cooking classes which we were able to fit in to our stay. The Spa area is also absolutely beautiful as well. I cannot stress enough how great this place is. The combination of great staff, beautiful hotel and brilliant location make this the only place you would want to stay whilst in Marrakech.

Very comfortable hotel rhiad, calm retreat in authentic surroundings. Very clean and well maintained, not for you if you want a 5 star European sterile hotel, but if you seek authenticity and cultural surroundings this is a great choice. Staff friendly and keen to help, a little slow in terms of service but very hospitable when asked and extremely welcoming.

This was our first trip to Africa. The entire experience was amazing! Villa Makassar is very peaceful, clean , spacious & quiet despite it being in the busiest Medina in Africa. Souheil as well as the rest of the staff are very knowledgable, polite & very helpful. Ask for anything & it appears immediately! We enjoyed Fatima's mouth watering breakfasts & Tajines. Nour our taxi driver/guide is very entertaining & taught us a lot about Morocco on our long trips to the mountains & the coast. From when we landed till when we left, we felt like we were the only guests in the riad.

We stayed there for 4 nights and checked into a smaller room initially which was still relatively normal sized. We were then kindly upgraded to a larger room as there was a cancellation. The detail in the rooms and decor is exquisite. Service was fantastic, we were well attended to, and the staff were able to help with whatever questions we had on places to visit, eat, taxi's, etc. The manager himself was most welcoming and helpful. The place is amazing as it looks in the pics, we were not disappointed. It was quiet and just perfect for what we were looking for. We spent our first day in the hotel and did not leave all day - stayed by the pool, went up to the roof terrace, and had all our meals there. This was our second trip to Marrakech, and we were there for a friends wedding on the weekend. Hotel was in a good location, in the old town Kasbah, so when you step outside, you are right in the hustle and bustle of it all but from the inside, it was like a hidden paradise! I will definitely recommend this place to anyone, and will definitely stay here when in Marrakech next!
