Really good breakfast, set us up perfectly for busy days exploring the old town! Great location, very close to the airport and easy to get to many attractions and meant we could make the most of our short trip. The riad was immaculate and well looked after by staff who were also very accommodating and helpful at arranging transport and providing recommendations - they even arranged a pre packed breakfast when we were going to miss breakfast due to an early start for an excursion.

We didn’t stay at the Riad Nalan, instead we experienced a traditional Hammam and massage package. Deep in the basement of the Riad, we experienced being ‘washed, scrubbed and treated with clay’ whilst lying on warm marble slabs. Followed by a relaxing full body massage. Exceptional value, totally nurturing and just what we needed. Highly recommended.

Our two night stay at the Riad Nalan was wonderful! The staff, run by Mohamed by day and Jamal by night, provided exceptional service. Their warmth and kindness extend to fantastic service to make sure we were all perfectly comfortable at all times. The riad itself has all the charm that you would expect from a Marocan riad. Like other reviews have said, do not be nervous or suspect with the back alleys that take you to the riad. It’s part of the adventure! Once the front entrance to the riad opens, you are in the comfort and charm of what is the Riad Nalan. The rooms are super comfortable and very clean. The atrium and decor gives you that Moroccan feel. The roof top has a small swimming pool that I enjoyed on both days. Super refreshing. On the roof top as well are two decks, one for lounging the other to have a most wonderful breakfast in the morning or just to have some tea and enjoy the views. The two kind ladies that make your breakfast and keep the place extremely clean deserve the same credit as the men that are your hosts. They have a hammam By the way that we will experience on our return to Marakesh. The riad is also in easy walking distance to the center of the city where all the action is. Top marks for this cozy, quaint riad!!

We had such a comfortable stay at Riad Cologne. It was a last minute change when the hotel we had originally booked at sold out and we were accommodated here. This trip couldn’t have worked out better because the location was fantastic, walking distance from everything in a really safe, buzzy part of the city. The staff was so helpful and planned a great day trip for us. And we loved the breakfast every morning, really looked forward to it. Clean and efficient with friendly service, we’d absolutely stay here again. Thanks for everything :)

Great location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Fresh breakfast which set us up for the day. The riad was clean with towels for the plunge pool and small shower soap in bathroom.

Cons: It would be nice if a small bottle of water was provided free of charge each day when the room is cleaned as we were charged for it after day one. Especially considering the heat during the summer.

Our stay at Riad Cologne & Spa was the best start to our trip in Marrakesh. Mohammed was the most helpful, and welcoming host we could have hoped for - organising a transfer to pick us up at the airport, then walking us right to the front door. The Riad itself has a real wow factor when you walk in, - it's serene and peaceful, and we were brought inside with a "Welcome home" from Mohammed as we stepped through the door, before pouring us some fresh Moroccan mint tea on the terrace. Our room was on the first floor, situated off the main courtyard area and was impeccably clean and cozy for it's size. The breakfast was delicious - fresh fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh Moroccan tea and coffee, yoghurt, Moroccan breads, olives, butter and other accompaniments. A big thank you to Mohammed, Jamal, and all the staff at Riad Cologne & Spa - we will definitely be recommending this place to friends and family.

Cons: Nothing - everything was perfect! We wish we could have stayed longer.

Amazing Riad to stay at! Clean room, beautiful building and a nice pool. They serve an amazing, balanced breakfast (and even got me oat milk and gluten free bread). Every time I returned back to the riad, there was a friendly face at the desk to welcome me. Mohammed, Jamal (and the rest of the staff) were great in answering my questions, and helping me navigate Marrakech, make reservations for an excursion and book hammam treatments (in-house).

Cons: I would have liked a water tap in the communal space(s), because it is hot.

Really nice staff, great breakfast served on the roof-top, lovely pool and sun beds, impeccable rooms, hammam and massage in-house, very secure environment, local hospital and pharmacy next door, walking distance to the souks. Location: it’s indeed close to many sights but it’s located not in the nicest and picturesque part of medina (that would be north or northwest from the square), you have to walk 10 min to the closest cafe (and it’s overpriced anyway). It’s quiet in the riad though. Some rooms do not have a window to the outside, which makes room dark, not cosy. Breakfast on the terrace was good and staff was super friendly and helpful. Hammam and massage delivered by Fatima was also excellent, the best I had in Morocco

Cons: Location is not ideal (but that’s not a big issue), small dark rooms on the ground floor, shower not ideal (have to fiddle a lot to get hot water and the pressure is not optimal)

Great breakfast, clean rooms, was worried about noise as rooms face a courtyard, but all guests were respectful and no issues with noise. Hammam and massage room is conveniently located downstairs, Zouhair is always there to help us arrange it, as well as other excursions if needed.

Cons: Maybe the location is not so central, so it needs about 10 mins walk to the Medina but it wasn’t so bad, and the amenities could include toothpaste and shampoo.

Nice breakfast, despite the eggs are being served on top of paper on a trey instead of a plate. Good quality bed. Simpathy of Mohammed.

Cons: Location, dimension of room, bath cabin without door, wich means water everywhere, tiny bathroom. Very noisy room. From our room (4), you can listen the suitcases outside, the ring of the bell, and 5 times a day, you have to listen on a speaker, the prey of the muslims, one of them at 5:30 in the morning.

We loved everything about this riad. Our room was lovely and I loved having the bath too. The towels were changed daily and our room was so clean and tidy each day. The hammam and massage was the very best!! Mohammad and Zouhair are both the best staff we could have wished for. So helpful and kind. I would highly recommend this riad to you all. We stayed in Riad Cologne & Spa it was amazing perfectly located in the Medina for easy access to everything within walking distance near the Kings Palace so the area felt nice and secure at all times. Lovely rooms and very tasty Moroccan breakfast each morning, really nice relaxing areas to lounge and enjoy the sun in. What was the major bonus that will have us visiting again was Muhamad and the rest of the staff who are all so lovely and friendly making us feeling at home and helped to organise all our excursions making sure we got picked up at the Riad and transported to our destination without any issues having an amazing time.

Property was beautiful! The furnishings and design of the building and each room was so unique. The property is down an alley way (no cars) however I really recommend booking the airport transfer as the hotel staff meet you and show you the way. The staff were so friendly, so welcoming and so helpful. The breakfast was fantastic. They have a small pool and relaxing area with sun loungers. You can also get a massage at the riad - it was amazing. Location is great. Area felt very safe as it’s close to a palace so lots of police/ military personnel about. During my recent trip to Morocco with a friend, we had the pleasure of staying at this charming Riad, and it’s an experience we will both cherish. Even though our flight landed quite late in the evening, we were warmly welcomed upon arrival, and the staff immediately made us feel at home. They even took time to give us a thorough tour of the Raid, which set the tone for the entire stay. One of the standout features of this Riad was the exceptional service. The staff were consistently courteous, friendly, and attentive throughout our time there. They went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed, offering great local recommendations and patiently answering all of our questions about the city. The Riad’s location is another major plus. Situated just a short walk from the main square, it allowed easy access to the bustling heart of the city. As for the property itself, the Riad is simply beautiful. The Riad is exquisitely decorated, with intricate details to reflect the rich Moroccan culture. We particularly enjoyed having breakfast on the sun drenched terrace each morning.

Cons: Nothing comes to mind.

Good location and nice Riad. Bedroom was spacious and well equipped. We chose a place close to the airport as we had to leave in the early morning.

Cons: We had a very early flight and asked to have something for breakfast (paid) as a lunchbox outside the breakfast hours. Only coffee was available. For such price, I would expect a bit more "service". Personnel was kind, but nothing more than that. We had better experience in our other stays in Morocco.

I absolutely loved every single thing about the property. It is beautiful, clean, spacious, with obvious love to details. As soon as you shut the doors, you feel like you have entered a piece of heaven. The staff is extremely caring, polite and friendly, always trying to help out and takes time for a nice chat and gives the best recommendations. The hammam and massage treatments were fabulous. I felt renew and energized and relaxed, and pretty! The pool and terraces are inviting for sunbathing or just enjoying a tea and some snacks. The breakfast is perfect for a good start in the day. From the first day to the last minute there we absolutely felt comfortable and safe (we were two girls). I absolutely recommend this place, no regrets. I would always come back to this Riad when in Marrakech.

Good breakfast and great service. Location away from the main part of the old medina of Marrakesh. Close to the Palace and Koutoubia.

Cons: It is a very nice and beautiful place with lovely service, but it is miniature (essentially half a riad—if you know what a traditional riad is) located in one of the remote and divided parts of what we generally call the medina in Marrakech—quite distant from the main part of the old medina. Maybe we were just unlucky, but we stayed in a room with a window facing the street, and that night there was a wedding nearby, so until about 2 a.m., we had groups of people loudly talking and riding motorcycles almost right next to our bed. Additionally, the WiFi barely worked in the room (though it was very good in the courtyard). Comparing it to another place where we spent the rest of our nights (we left Riad Cologne & Spa after one night despite prepaying for two), I must say it was a huge disappointment. Additionally, the room, described as spacious with two windows (one small, double window that did not block any noise from outside), was tiny, and the bathroom was, to put it mildly, very average (with a 10 cm door gap after closing them). The square footage matched, but they forgot to mention that it included the wardrobe nook and the bathroom. All those enthusiastic reviews I read on Booking.com before booking this place probably stem from a lack of comparison with other, much better places (at similar prices) and better locations.

A small and nice riad, which is a former house with central courtyard where the rooms are located around. Breakfast is provided at the rooftop with good (but not amazing) views. Staff is very helpful and kind.

Cons: Rooms have no outside windows. Bathtub is of the traditional kind, like a basin and not comfortable to have a shower. The riad is located on a pedestrian alley, not easy to reach.

The place was clean and tidy. Was an experience of a traditional housing around the palace walls.

Cons: Getting to the accommodation is a little tricky as no 4 wheeler can get in and one needs to drag their baggage all the way for around at least 250 mts. and at first appears a bit of a concern.

Cons: The bathroom was way below par. Nowhere to hang even a towel. Old plumbing, falling out of wall. Shower did not drain properly. Door did not shut privately. We had a wonderful three-night stay at Riad Cologne & SPA. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed with tea and biscuits, and the staff shared valuable insights into exploring Marrakech. The location, just a 10-minute walk from the main square, provided a serene escape from the city's hustle and bustle. Additionally, its proximity to the king's palace, where guards are stationed 24/7, ensured a safe and secure environment throughout our stay.

Just got back from an amazing stay at Riad Cologne , and I couldn't wait to share my thoughts!First off, the location was minutes away from all the action in the square, but tucked away in a quiet alley, so you still got some peace and quiet when you needed it. Plus, the riad was like stepping into a Moroccan oasis. The architecture and design were stunning, with colorful tiles, intricate mosaics, with yet a minimalistic vibe. The rooms were cozy with most of the amenities you could ask for. And the best part was The rooftop terrace.Watching the sunset over the city with a mint tea in hand was an experience I'll never forget. But what really made the stay special was the staff. From the moment we arrived, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. They were always there to offer tips and recommendations, whether it was where to find the best tagine or how to navigate the souks.Overall, I can't recommend Riad Cologne enough. It's the perfect base for exploring Marrakech

Wow - the Riad is a little gem ! We were met by Mohammed when we arrived and he walked us to the Riad, he explained lots about the location, offered to book trips for us, showed us around the Riad and gave us Mint Tea on the rooftop. Mohammed and the staff are so polite and accommodating. Room was lovely and clean, breakfast was great and we even used the Hammam as the weather wasn’t too good whilst we were there - amazing too!!

We had a pleasant stay at the Riad Cologne. The most memorable part of our stay was the hospitality we received from Mohammed and we will always remember him whenever we think about Marrakech. He is a gem. He patiently explained us about the riad and took us on a tour in the riad. The riad in itself is beautifully decorated and gives you a feel of luxury and comfort. We also tried the (paid) spa massage and it was great experience for us. We went to the Ouzaude waterfalls and the (paid) excursion was organised by the riad. There were some miscommunications between the travel agency and the guys at the riad who organised it. So, our trip to Ouzaude was a bit delayed. However, Mohammed effortlessly solved this glitch and made sure we were happy and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing. Unfortunately it is only from 8am to 11am, so the day we left Marrakech, we couldn't have breakfast for our early morning departure which was a pity as it was included in our tarif. They offered us black coffee though at 6am. The riad was clean and our room was exactly as the photos. The cleaning ladies and the ladies who prepared our breakfast were all very kind and cheerful which made us feel at home.

Cons: We stayed on the ground floor and the room was not completely sound-proof. The bathroom although very modern did not have a good drainage. So, it was like taking bath in a small puddle and it was necessary to wait 5-10 minutes for the water to drain out before the next guest could take a shower. The hot water in shower took ages to come. By the time there was hot water, the bathroom was already a small pond. The night-time receptionist did not seem to help us when we signalled him this issue.

The staff, especially the reception manager ensured my stay at the riad was comfortable as possible. The riad was decorated beautifully and was maintained to a high standard. The breakfast each morning was plentiful, I could not fault anything with this riad. I would definitely reccomend riad cologne and spa to those looking to visit Marrakech and wanting to have an authentic riad experience. It is a great distance from the city and most attractions.

Cons: The only thing I felt the riad was lacking was a fridge or kettle in the rooms.

My friend and I stayed here for a week in June and it was amazing. We could not have asked for a better first trip to Marrakesh! The riad is perfectly situated and absolutely beautiful— the attention to detail in the decorations is amazing. We loved the daily breakfast, the pool was perfect, the room was gorgeous (with the world’s best bathtub), the spa was a fun extra experience, and everyone who worked there was absolutely adorable. The only drawback is that the building is a bit echoey so it could get a little loud at times, but I think that is because of the way these types of buildings are built with inside courtyards. It didn’t bother us but it could be an issue for some. We felt really comfortable as two women traveling alone and had a fabulous time exploring. We went to the sea (Essaouira) and the waterfalls with the tour groups that the people at the riad helped us organize, which were both good escapes from the heat of the summer. The staff also helped us organize our shuttles to and from the airport, which was a huge relief since we had limited phone service and no internet! Definitely one of my favorite travel experiences and that is largely because of the kindness of everyone at the riad.

The place is very very clean and safe! I appreciate a lot the ladies who were cleaning our room every day and folding our clothes. That was so cute. Someone can pick you up from the airport and our driver was very nice. Breakfast is fresh and delicious and staff is polite and nice. The place is quiet and close to the important points.

Cons: We have tried the Spa and the ladies were nice even if I could understand they were talking about us while doing our massage. In some point it started to be noisy, they were talking loud with the person at the reception (same person we had some issues on our last night). I won’t recommend the Spa thing much! Also, the person who does the night shift gave us some headache on our last night in the Riad. We had to pay for our Spa and they said the accept sterling pounds! We had to stay for almost 2 hours to explain him the calculation. He was literally knocking our door in the middle of the night every 10 mins asking for more money because he was not understanding the calculations even if we actually gave him tips! I ask to talk to a manger and after that he apologised but we couldn’t rest and we had to wake up early in the morning. Rooms are smaller then how they look in the pictures. There is no hot water in the evening even if I asked the same person at the reception instead of knocking the door constantly to fix the hot water. I would have loved to have a hot tub time after a long day, in the evening but as I mentioned I think there is no hot water in the evening.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 1 week and the service and facilities here are fantastic. It was our first time in Marrakesh which can be overwhelming. Fuzia and Younes are both so welcoming and as soon as we arrived Fuzia showed us around the riad and all the activities they had on offer. We wanted to do a hot air balloon and a trip to the waterfalls and it was so easy to book and the companies they used to the excursions were faultless. Payment was super relaxed as it can be tricky to get cash in Marrakesh sometimes but they never put any pressure on us for this. We also booked a massage which we were able to have at the same time and it was such a relaxing experience. The riad is super relaxed and it felt like we were the only ones here some days. Our room was comfortable and the air con (super important as it’s so hot) actually made us feel too cold sometimes it was that good. I would strongly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a home away from home in your trip to Marrakesh.

I would not recommend staying here. I visited Morocco for 10 days and stayed at 5 different Riads, this was worst value for my money. Location is not good, service folks have can't do attitude. We had issue with the air conditioner, and was told, this is machine nothing they can do. After complaining loudly, finally got a technician to look at it, found dirty filters, like they have never been cleaned.

We spent 5 nights at this Riad for our Honey Moon. We loved the place because it was beautiful and had less rooms, which makes it cozier and quieter. Everybody working there, from the owner, his family, the night reception man and the cookers were super nice, friendly and helpful. Every corner it is beautifully decorated, especially the rooms. We also loved the open spaces such as the terrasses and the swimming pool. We had dinner one night and it was delicious. We also had private hammam and massage service and the ladies did a super good job. All in all, we enjoyed our stay so much and we definitely recommend it. Thank you!

* Location is good and the area is quiet. * Manager & Employees were very kind with us. * They allowed us to delay the check out * The hotel and room are beautiful. * The roof top is beautiful. There's a very small swimming pool and a nice landscape. Not a 5-star top roof but nice.

Cons: * Breakfast was tasty but there was not much of a variaty: tea & coffee, scrambled eggs and a small glass of pieced fruit. * The rooms in the hotel are not well isolated. Noises from other rooms can be heard - even conversations at a normal volume. * The room was beautiful but it was surprising that the floor of the bathtub was concave and not flat. There was also no device to hang the shower tube. The shower is something that definitely could be improved.

As a first time solo traveller, I managed to haggle a good deal with the airport taxi driver for 50 dirhams. After a short 10min journey, I arrived at the accommodation and was greeted by the lovely host Younes. He was extremely kind enough to tip a local guide on my behalf who had helped me to locate the riad, which was hidden inside a maze of cobbled streets. I found the locals to be very friendly. The riad manager Tarek, greeted me with Moroccan mint tea, told me I was at home now and reassured me as a solo traveller, they are by my side to make my stay feel safe, warm and relaxing. Sat on the terrace with my mint tea basking in the sunshine ☀️ it was beautiful. I was then given a tour of the brand new riad which was newly presented with handmade furniture, an authentic hammam/spa and the junior suite was absolutely stunning with a deep stone marble bath! Food was delicious, staff so polite and attentive, spotlessly clean rooms. For me the Hammam and spa was a personal highlight. It wasn’t rushed at any point, I felt extremely relaxed after an exfoliant scrub, hair wash, clay mask, followed by the most amazing 1.5hr deep massage. Afterwards, I relaxed in the foyer, whilst the host of the Riad, personally collected fresh warm homemade bread to feed me a lovely vegetarian tagine at my leisure. Also, suprised me with a delicious sweet treat…on the house! Magnificent! Honestly, this place is a little slice of heaven 😍 The staff cannot do enough for you and really appreciate that u need enough space for time out…Totally spoilt! Ended my first day with a 10min stroll to the main square/souk/market. Dodged all the crazy traders and navigated the wild traffic. Managed to find my way back after a few wrong turns and turned in for the night. Overall I found it to be a fabulous short stay in a great location! Highly recommended.
