The hotel itself is not bad, and you can watch a great musical there, but the way they handle disputed charges and the overall sense of security were a huge disappointment. We came to Madrid to celebrate my birthday. At check-out, we honestly told the staff that we had taken one KitKat from the minibar and wanted to pay for it. At the reception they offered to charge my card (the same one I used for the stay), and I agreed. When I got home, I saw a charge of €109. The hotel sent a “minibar statement” claiming that in one day we supposedly drank two bottles of whisky plus another bottle of alcohol we did not take, and that we also “took an umbrella” from the room that had been kept in the closet. We have been trying for several days to get a clear explanation, but we keep receiving only template replies. On top of that, my friend discovered that her expensive belt (in its case) was missing when she arrived home. She travelled with carry-on luggage only, so it is unlikely it was stolen at the airport. In a 5-star hotel, situations like this are unacceptable, and the staff’s response has been very discouraging. Please think twice before booking.

Great location. Staff were very helpful throughout especially when we asked to change rooms. Good breakfast. Overall a nice stay but not what would expect of a 5star hotel.
Cons: There was a bad smell in the room we were initially given. We were moved to a different room without any issues. There also seemed to be a smell a few evenings in the reception area when we got back to the hotel. This might be an issue outside the control of the hotel. The layout of the hotel is a little strange with the theatre being part of the building. The room (Deluxe City view, 303 & 203) layout was a little strange as it was at the end of the corridor. The bed is at an angle to the wall with a small gap between the corner of the bed and the wall. Have to be careful not to bump into the wall mounted TV especially during the night. The upside of the room layout was that the bathroom was bigger than other rooms. Overall a nice stay but not what would expect of a 5star hotel.

They had a theater in the hotel and the cabaret looked absolutely amazing, pity we didn’t have time to book one . The decor is absolutely beautiful and so clean.excellent location. I could go on and on. Will definitely book UMusic for my next trip to Madrid .

Ubicacion excelente a pocos metros de la plaza Puerta del Sol y cerca de la zona de teatros. La amplitud, limpieza y comodidad de sus habitaciones. La tematica y decoracion del hotel referente a la musica. Y la belleza y encanto historico del hotel en especial su fachada. Y como no la amabilidad del personal.
Cons: En las cercanias se encuentra una comisaria y en especial en las noches se oyen algunas sirenas. Tal vez si se pudieran insonorizar mejor las ventanas se rozaria la perfeccion del hotel.

The location is excellent, we were able to walk everywhere. The street outside is pedestrianised so it is quiet. The staff are truly excellent; professional and friendly and the service is very smooth and efficient. Our room was spacious with everything we needed: hanging space, decent bathroom toiletries, hairdryer, umbrella, nice towels, a good mirror etc etc. There was a bottle of water each day and chocolates to welcome us. It was my husband's birthday and we received a dessert and a little bottle of wine in the room which was a nice touch. The bar was lovely with a nice atmosphere. We didn't visit the theatre but on the Saturday night theatre goers came into the bar where there was a pianist and singer. The theatre looks fantastic, booking a show would be a great idea to include into a stay. We loved the breakfast, again the pianist played gently. The buffet of fruit, pastries, cereal etc was all vey appetising and fresh, and hot dishes were served from a menu: omelettes, eggs benedict etc. We would highly recommend the hotel.

Cons: Enyhe csatornaszagot lehet érezni a szobában. Számtalan dolog nem működött ( TV, kávéfőző, lámpa, üres tusfürdő ) amit javítanak, de maguktól nem veszik észre. A szoba nagyon szűkös, a vizesblokk nagy, de mégis egyszerre csak egy ember tudja használni és pakolási lehetőség sincs.

Hotel claims I booked two rooms instead of one, and insists on charging both. The second reservation number is unknown to me. They tell me to let Booking.com to sort it out. I had a fantastic stay for my birthday weekend! The location was fabulous – perfect for exploring the city. The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout our visit. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the rooftop bar and pool area were great spots to relax after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast was lovely, made extra special with a live pianist creating a beautiful atmosphere. We also went to see Cabaret in the hotel theatre, which was excellent. Highly recommend this hotel

Cons: Our x’mas gift (necklace)got stolen in my room (we placed it on the coffee table), we search everywhere but can’t not be found. We reported to the manager on duty, they just wrote it down but didn’t do anything about that. We were quite upset about how they handle this matter. The reason that we didn’t put in the safe is because this is a five star hotel, we believed that little things leave it on the table should be ok. Unfortunately that is not the case, I think even not a high value jewelry , people will still pocket it no matter what and without a trace. We just bad luck!

Complimentary Roscon de Reyes cake (Three Kings Day) was a lovely touch and free drink voucher.. Loved the piano bar/restaurant. Location was perfect, very central for walking to everything.
Cons: The terrace of our room was tucked in below the pool so just a view of a wall but the room was spacious. A neighbouring room playing loud music early hours of the morning was not good but the night staff dealt with it promptly and effectively

Everything was absolutely perfect. The location is excellent, the hotel is beautiful, and the whole concept around music creates such a unique and stylish vibe. The room was spotless and cleaned every day, which we really appreciated. The staff were incredibly kind, professional, and always helpful — they truly made our stay special. One thing that impressed us the most was their honesty and responsiveness: we realized two weeks after leaving that we had lost our camera. We contacted the hotel, and they immediately responded, found the camera, and kept it safely secured for us. That level of care is rare and unforgettable.

Hotel en una excelente ubicación cerca de la Plaza del Sol. Excelente atención del staff de recepción, fueron realmente muy amables. La habitación muy cómoda y amplia. El servicio de desayuno y el bar son excepcionales, con buenísima comida y ambiente. Absolutamente recomendado.

As always this hotel Never disappoints, good service and in point centre of Madrid. Last year we saw Phantom of the Opera and this year Cabaret. As the theatre is inside the hotel, easy to go to. We had seats on stage of Cabaret and was really amazing. Musical was top Class impressive performances of all dancers and for the main lead singer. Hat off to them !! Hotel is good , clean with great service and in middle of the excitement of Madrid.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, with everything close by. The staff was very friendly and welcoming upon arrival. The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms are elegant, and the mattresses are extremely comfortable. There are also traditional local restaurants right next to the hotel, which makes the stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for a comfortable and well-located stay.
Cons: The hotel restaurant is quite expensive and, unfortunately, the quality does not match the price. In our opinion, it is not really worth staying at the hotel for dining, especially considering that there are excellent traditional local restaurants just around the corner offering a much better experience. It is also important to note that the bathroom is completely open within the room, which means there is no real privacy — something to keep in mind depending on your preferences. Additionally, the room shown in the photos with the mirrored wall is unique in the entire hotel. We were told this when we asked to change rooms, despite having paid for an upgrade at the time of booking, so future guests should be aware of this to avoid any confusion. Finally, we unfortunately did not have the opportunity to access the rooftop during our stay. When we asked to return on the evening of our check-out day, we were informed this was not possible as we were no longer guests.

En el desayuno, estando medio vacío, no había manera de ver un camarero para pedirle en un rato largo. Recepción muy amables, pero con esa amabilidad me tuvieron esperando media hora una consulta, mientras pasaban a otros huéspedes delante mía. Cuando les decía que estaba esperando miraban directamente a otro lado. Nos dio la sensación que había muchos empleados pero dando vueltas todo el rato. Solo destacaria a Aaron, del departamento Guest Experience, que en cuanto fue consciente del rato que llevábamos esperando para una tontería tomó las riendas y se solucionó todo en un segundo, además de permanecer en permanente contacto posteriormente.

Breakfast was excellent, with self service and a la carte offerings with lovely live piano music playing. Staff were under a little bit of pressure as it was so busy but understandable given the time of year. Staff generally in the hotel were really friendly and helpful, we loved the location and the rooftop bar was a nice bonus to enjoy the afternoon sunshine. We had dinner in the hotel on the first evening and it was very entertaining. The concierge Aaron was very helpful in booking trips for us. Our bedroom was the Ultimate terrace and it was so nice to have a terrace area to relax and enjoy the fresh air. Rooms in general were small but the terrace more than made up for it.
Cons: No real complaints apart from one bar tender who was quite rude. However, the management team sorted it out and ensured we were looked after.

I like the building, the pool (in the summer), the rooms and their quality and then of course the live piano music during breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hotel is quite unique with it build in teatre and the fact that they have shows going on from time to time added to this incredible value.
Cons: The the piano music during breakfast sometime is a bit jazzy and experimental. I tend to prefer breakfast music in soft and harmonic tunes.

The location is amazing. The room was clean and well-designed. The bathroom with a deep tub and marble shower stood out and made the stay luxurious. The decor and vibe of the hotel is excellent. We had a meal in the main piano restaurant, and it exceeded our expectations. The gym was small but functional, clean, and well-stocked. We were busy doing other stuff and didn't get to the cabaret, but people looked super happy as they left the theater.
Cons: A little hard to find at first. We used the alternate entrance almost exclusively after check-in.

Excellent hotel. Service quality was great across the board. Breakfast was very good (but, if not included in your room rate, it is pretty pricey and you might prefer to grab something nearby). Location is good. It was a short walk to Plaza Mayor and the Royal Palace; it was a little longer over to the Prado museum, but still very doable. One note- a cab can pull right up in front of the hotel, a ride share will have to drop you a couple of blocks away. The piano bar is an excellent way to finish off your evening.

I arrived around 8 pm, and the taxi had to drop me off on a nearby side street. And the streets were overflowing with people because of the holidays. The taxi driver was very kind and told me to be very careful with my valuables, as there are unsavory people among the crowds. I appreciated that advice. I walked a block and a half, and when I arrived, I understood why he could not drive to the entrance. A huge Tourism Awards red carpet event was taking place, so the street was closed as a result. I quickly navigated to an entrance and walked into the lobby, buzzing with black tie clad guests and photogs, and music. The bellmen and desk staff were extraordinarily kind and informative in answering my curious questions. I also loved the piano player at breakfast; just a fabulous touch. And one evening, before I went out to dinner, I had a drink in the lounge, and the cabaret performers stopped in to entertain the guests before they went to perform in the famous Cabaret Theater right there in the hotel. Loved it all.
Cons: What I liked least about my stay was the noisy HVAC. As a light sleeper, it kept me awake the first night. I turned it off for the remainder of my stay so I could sleep peacefully. My room was small, cosy, and had a separate tub and shower, which I loved.

The hotel is at a great location in the center of madrid with some lovely restaurants in the area. It is also very close to the metro so traveling within the city from the hotel is quite easy. I am an architect with a design firm which is into luxury hospitality design and i can attest this is a very well designed hotel. The hotel is music themed with painted portraits of artists all over the hotel including the rooms. The room and the bathroom were spacious with very good neutral toned finishes. The hotel has nice restaurants and bars and a cabaret theater. Unfortunately I wasn't able to watch the cabaret show but it seemed like it would have been a good experience. They offer discounts for hotel residents for the show tickets. The hotel was a bit pricey but I think it was good value for money if you're looking for a quality luxury hotel.

Cons: E' un Hotel strettamente associato a un frequentatissimo teatro. Questo, presentato come una cosa rara e speciale è in realtà un elemento di confusione. La reception è nella Hall del teatro, un piccolo banchetto grande come in un due stelle spesso circondato da file di spettatori in attesa di entrare in sala, da un trombettista che suona per avvisare dell'inizio, da attori in costume ( e anche senza) che si aggirano. Colazione purtroppo servita su tavolini piccoli bassi e scomodi. Personale un po' confuso: l'impressione è di una brigata numerosa ma alle prime armi e in pieno rodaggio. Fiori in vaso sul tavolino della colazione ma appassiti dal primo all'ultimo giorno di soggiorno. Camera piccolina con buoni materiali ma architettura un po' spiazzante. Come si entra si vede e si incrocia la vasca da bagno che è nell'anti-camera da letto separata solo da un vetro (scelta sbagliata e inelegante). WC e doccia sono in due localini a parte isolati (poco!) dal resto da una semplice porta in vetro.

We were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and the concierge, Edu, went above and beyond—he not only gave us fantastic sightseeing recommendations, but he also personally made reservations at his favorite restaurant for our anniversary dinner. His meal suggestion was absolutely perfect.

A beautiful hotel in a very good location right in the city center, clean. The staff is quite inexperienced. The bellboy who carries the luggage is excellent and truly does everything he can to help you. The reception staff are also polite and try their best, but they are inexperienced and it shows. The breakfast is quite good. There is no buffet; you order from a menu. However, no matter how many times you ask for something, they never refuse to bring it to you.

We truly enjoyed our stay at U Music Hotel. The boutique design is stylish and modern, yet warm and welcoming. The staff were exceptional, friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. They went above and beyond to help us when our airline canceled our flight, which we deeply appreciated. The location couldn’t be better. Many of Madrid’s main attractions are within walking distance, making it easy to explore the city on foot and soak in its vibrant atmosphere. It’s an ideal spot for travelers who want to experience the heart of Madrid while enjoying the comfort of a well-designed hotel. The only downsides were the noise from the rear entrance, which faces a lively street that can get busy at night with crowds and occasional police activity, and the minibar selection, which was fully stocked with alcoholic drinks, which is not ideal for families traveling with kids or teens. Overall, U Music Hotel delivered an outstanding experience with beautiful design, excellent service, and an unbeatable location. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Madrid.

We stayed at UMusic Hotel Madrid while in Spain and absolutely loved it. The location is perfect, right by Puerta del Sol, and the atmosphere feels lively yet relaxing. The rooms are stylish, comfortable, and spotless, and the staff were genuinely kind and helpful. The Cabaret show at the Teatro Albéniz inside the hotel was incredible, such a fun and unique experience to have right where you stay. We only stayed for one night at this wonderful property and we absolutely loved it! The staff is fantastic, specially the servers at the restaurant on second floor. They even have a pianist at the restaurant. Great vibe from the moment you step in the hotel. Great selection of food for breakfast. The hotel is perfectly located in the middle of Madrid! Restaurants around and also Plaza Mayor. We will definitely come back. It's 100% worth to stay here.

Cons: Deux chambres réservées d’une taille minuscule, avec dans l’une des eux une salle de bain indécente d’un établissement se prétendant un 5 étoiles, une décoration minimaliste avec à peine l’espace d’ouvrir une valise dans le couloir, un service de chambre absent en soirée, des collaborateurs indigents à la réception ou l’expérience client se limite à payer sans s’intéresser à notre séjour… Le petit-déjeuner est relativement bon pour autant que vous n’arriviez pas à un moment de rush parce que sinon c’est 25 minutes pour un Cappuccino et 35 minutes pour une omelette. En résumé, notre expérience a été catastrophique, et on repart avec le sentiment d’avoir été abusé pour un tarif disproportionné en rapport avec la prestation.

The vibe of the hotel is very cool. The staff were super nice and helpful, even checked us in early. The rooms could be a little bigger, not a lot room for luggage. If you are the kind of people that like to take everything out and fold and hang, than you’ll be fine with the room. The rooms are clean and the beds were comfortable, which is so much important than more room. Great bathroom too. Food was excellent in the 2nd floor. It was very nice to have the theater next door too. We saw Cabaret which was fantastic. The location is perfect, near shopping, restaurants and lots of things to see and do. Would definitely come back and stay here again next time.

The champagne breakfast was a lovely way to start the day, and the live piano every morning created a magical atmosphere. The location of this property was perfect. Very central and easy to walk to see the beautiful sights of Madrid. A pleasant 15-minute walk to the best shopping for fashion, and close to restaurants and bars. The breakfast was excellent in both food and service, and there was also a live piano player. Music is the theme of the hotel, and it shows in many ways, from decor to live performances. The staff was very friendly and efficient. My room was beautiful, with the incredible shower and bath being the highlight.

Cuando llegamos al hotel, sobre las 20h de la tarde y entramos en la habitación se escuchaba un música pero no le dimos importancia por las horas que eran. Sobre las 12 de la noche llamamos a recepción porque se seguía escuchando la música y nos molestaba para poder dormir, pensando que era la habitación de al lado. Sobre la 1 de la mañana la música paró. Nuestra sorpresa fue que a las 7 de la mañana la música comenzó de nuevo a sonar, despertándonos y no pudiendo volver a dormir. Ahí ya estábamos un poco molestos porque nuestro descanso no fue bueno. Salimos al pasillo y la música del hilo musical no era, la habitación de al lado tampoco... no sabíamos de donde venía la música que se escuchaba perfectamente en la habitación!! La sorpresa fue cuando al bajar a desayunar la música que se escuchaba era del restaurante. Creo que és necesario que conozcáis que la música del restaurante molesta en esa habitación y que si los clientes escriben al contacto que ponéis en la pagia web se les de respuesta.

Definitely a different hotel. Theatre is located within the hotel…different elevators for different parts of the building. If you’re staying over a weekend I would recommend not staying in city view room….the noise was crazy!! Sirens going off, street noise going on literally until morning. The breakfast was an epic fail! Seems like they are still finding their way with this hotel, but waiting 40 minutes to get a coffee and orders not delivered correctly left patrons beyond frustrated. On the positive….the staff are super friendly and helpful whenever they can be.

Amazing service in a beautiful hotel. Our luggage magically arrived in our suite while we were roaming the area. One of the most delicious breakfast buffets I’ve ever experienced. The staff always responsive and friendly. A thousand other wonderful ways we were retreated. Definitely recommend this experience to anyone visiting Madrid

It was clean and welcoming. The decor was funky and modern. Rooftop patio was quaint with a nice view. The pool was clean and spacious. I loved this hotel!!

Location was great. Nice rooftop deck and staff friendly. Our room was not what hoping for. Premium garden view gave us a view of a brick wall and the room size was incredibly small. The bathroom was only 3 feet from the bed. I am unsure how you could possibly give this a 5 star rating. Having stayed at other hotels on this vacation this did not compare

This hotel is an iconic old building that has been made into a fun hotel with a music vibe. The staff was always available and helpful, the rooms are clean, and the location is close - within walking distance to the Royal Palace, shopping and endless restaurants.

Cons: Albergo a mio avviso un pò cupo. La nostra stanza aveva delle dimensioni imbarazzanti per quanto piccola e con vista su un muro, Alla seconda notte ho chiesto di cambiarla. Il bello è che al mio arrivo la receptionist mi ha detto tutta fiera " le ho fatto un upgrade della camera"...mi chiedo che stanza mi avessero assegnato prima, lo sgabuzzino delle scope? Non ci tornerò nè lo consiglierò. Personale dall'efficienza discutibile, servizio in camera lento (50 min per una bustina di tè e dopo 2 telefonate di sollecito mi sono vista recapitare una teiera piena di tè infuso da non so quanto e imbevibile invece di una semplice bustina che avevo chiesto...). Colazione devo dire buona ma con la modica cifra di 25 euro a testa in più sul prezzo della stanza che basso non può dirsi, insomma. Non fa per me, bye bye

Great location, near Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor. Very close to major shopping. Very courteous and helpful staff. Very clean rooms and great bedding. Having a swimming pool was a big plus.

Excellent hotel in a great location. Well laid out with most of the rooms tucked away in a quiet wing. Very attentive staff, knowledgeable about the area and engaging. The rooftop bar is exceptional with good service and great views. A quiet little enclave within the huddle and bustle of Madrid. Good vibes!

Exceptionally friendly and dedicated staff! Did their very best to accommodate us and offered excellent suggestions for outdoor dinner etcetera. The location is fine downtown Madrid! Comfortable with excellent airconditioning

Our trip to Madrid in mid September was extra amazing because we chose the right hotel with Umusic. The location was perfect. We were able to easily walk to most landmarks. Staff was friendly and room was immaculate. Plenty of shopping and restaurants right out the door of the hotel. Love the boutique feel of this hotel. The rooftop and pool were a plus. Just wish we had more time to enjoy those features. We’d definitely book here again next trip.

We loved the hotel location, the staff/service, the penthouse/terrace views, pool and sauna and restaurant/drinks. One of our favorite stays on our 4 week journey and we especially loved the morning walks & sunrise views from Montjuïc. Maybe not quite the visual polish of a traditional 5 star, the outdoor spaces were a little more weathered than the photos, but in a warm & cozy way - would stay again & wouldn’t change a thing!
