Absolut empfehlenswert!

How wonderful to rest in peace, "far from the madding crowd” at La Sultana. This exotic oasis in the heart of Marrakech was the perfect place to rest and recuperate after the excitement of exploring the city each day - and night! We were always welcomed beautifully on each return which made La Sultana feel like our home away from home. We appreciated every element of this exquisitely designed traditional riad. Staff were lovely - professional, attentive and friendly. Food was delicious and the romantic setting around the pool listening to the excellent sitar player at night was memorable. The Hammam experience was fantastic - smoothed our skin and our worries (about having to return home soon!) The rooftop allows perspective on the city whilst enjoying the comfort of the hotel bar and other facilities and activities like the calligraphy lesson! The pool was just the right temperature (though as dining surrounds it you can only swim between meals!) Our room was exotic - palatial - extremely comfortable, exceptionally clean and everything was replenished generously each day. There were fresh roses everywhere and a gorgeous interior courtyard garden. Location was walking distance to great cafes and shops, not far from the Medina and Square and a short drive to many local places of interest. Highly recommend La Sultana.

Beautiful hotel with classic Moroccan architecture and amazing service and well-located within the kasbah/medina. The hotel is a reimagined riad with amazing details everywhere, including private nooks and gardens throughout the property. Each room room is different, ours had a fireplace, seating area, nespresso machine, robes etc. we arrived to delicious welcome snacks and fruit and received nightly dessert. The included off the menu breakfast was superb. We had a couple hammam that was exquisite and massages at the spa. The service at the hotel was impeccable, including accommodating a late breakfast after we arrived in the early morning from our flight.

Fantastic service and food by our host Mr. Menim, his boss Simo and rest of rest of the staff. We are coming back. This is a riad located within the Kasbah of Marrakech which is typical for Morocco and in the same time modern in its design. We felt very velcome and felt very relaxed in the beatiful environments and appreciated the evening,

I had a blissful 3 night stay at La Sultana. Service was impeccable. Staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Breakfast was lush. My room was very comfortable and clean, but a reminder that Riads are around courtyards and the rooms are very dark. Otherwise, no complaints from me.

My wife and I spent three unforgettable days at this stunning Riad hotel. Its beauty is simply beyond compare, and the service is truly outstanding. We felt like royalty in a fairytale straight out of Arabian Nights. Every wish we had was anticipated before we even voiced it. In short, our stay at the Sultan was one of the absolute highlights of our trip to Morocco.

Traveled with my Bestie to Marrakech and chose La Sultana as our home base there for four nights. The environment at La Sultana was extraordinary. We wandered all over the Medina and even visited some surrounding properties from La Mamounia for a visit to Oberoi Marrakech for a dinner. For authenticity, upkeep, service, attention to detail and class, La Sultana was first in my book. We had a suite in Bahia Riad (La Sultana has 5 different individually themed riads). I feel like ours was the best because it felt incredibly private, quiet, impeccably clean and serene which, considering the hustle and bustle just outside the doors, was unexpected and appreciated. Bahia Riad also had its own small pool which we enjoyed each time we returned from being out in the Medina or an adventure. The room was gorgeous, spacious, and uniquely authentic and original. I swear they refreshed it at least twice per day. Which brings me to the service. From our early arrival, which had to be an inconvenience, they were welcoming, gracious, kind and accommodating. The welcome was to the air conditioned office then we were drawn back to sit in one of the riads to enjoy a cool towel, mint tea, and other refreshments. They gave us an intro to the property, readied our rooms early, directed us to the beautiful rooftop restaurant to dine while we awaited our room. From the doormen and security at the front, the front desk and restaurant staff to the room staff, we felt like celebrities or royalty. Special thanks to Saadia, Rislan, Abdullah, Abdel, and Moustafe. They truly made us feel special and that made this trip and Marrakech exceed all expectation. La Sultana is a memory I will always treasure.

La Sultana Marrakech was everything we had dreamed of—and more. After admiring it on Instagram for so long, we finally arrived and were swept into a world of beauty, warmth, and serenity. Even before we set foot in Morocco, the concierge took care of us, arranging private transfers (just 15 minutes from Marrakech Airport or 2.5 hours from Casablanca). On arrival, we were treated to upgraded rooms that felt like private sanctuaries. The butler service—easily contacted by text on the mobile phone provided to each room—made everything effortless. The hotel itself is a masterpiece: intimate, timeless, and exquisitely maintained. Every corner tells a story, each room feels unique, and the staff make you feel not just welcomed, but cherished. Mornings began with feasts. On our first day, we ordered a typical breakfast only to discover it came accompanied by an array of fresh breads, fruit, pastries, pancakes, and yoghurt—an indulgence that stretched luxuriously into the morning. The restaurant team also shared tastings of Moroccan specialties, which quickly became our favourites for the rest of our stay. The rooftop terrace is a secret paradise: sun-drenched and tranquil by day, glittering and vibrant by night. With its bar and dining area, it’s perfect for casual meals and cocktails under the stars. But the main restaurant is unmissable—its exquisite dishes are accompanied by the romantic sounds of Arabic songs played on the oud, creating an atmosphere that lingers in memory. La Sultana sits in the heart of the Medina, giving it an incomparable location. Essential sites are just a short walk away, and the energy of real Moroccan life surrounds you the moment you step outside. From vibrant souks to winding backstreets, every outing felt safe—even when dodging the scooters that weave through the lanes! With its magical atmosphere and perfect setting, La Sultana feels less like a hotel and more like a dream you never want to wake from. Marrakech has our hearts—and so does La Sultana. We cannot wait to return, and to discover their sister hotel in Oualidia.

We loved La Sultana. Everything about the place is first class. The riads that make up the property all have beautiful courtyards that are kept cool even in Morocco in June. The beds are comfy. Our room was lovely. The first night the AC was dripping a little water, but when we mentioned it to the front desk, they took care of it right away. The staff was professional and knowledgeable. We had a private driver and the place is located very conveniently for pickup/drop off. The rooftop bar is also lovely as is the pool. All in all, it made our trip to Marrakech so memorable. We're planning a return trip to Morocco now. It is pricey, but worth it. The decor is authentic, unlike some of the other high end Morocco hotels, which we appreciated.

La Sultana is a gem in the wonderful city of Marrakech. Located in the Kasbah, it is a very short walk to the main souks and several museums and gardens, all of which deserve a visit. The hotel is of the highest order with the guest wanting for nothing. Great ambience, professional and attentive staff, every detail has been considered. Be sure to avail yourself of the spa, and book in for a hamam during your stay. La Sultana is a great way to start or finish your Moroccan adventure. A treasure in Marrakech

The staff were friendly

Cons: 1. We had to shorten our stay due to the presence of cockroaches in the bathroom, which made us very uncomfortable. 2. The air conditioning was only available in the bedroom. All other areas were not air-conditioned, which was inconvenient given the hot weather. 3. The price we paid was quite high compared to the quality of the service and overall experience. 4. The hotel is located in a very crowded and hard-to-reach area, tucked away in a narrow alley that’s difficult to access by car. 5- Towels and sheets are worn out.

Excellent property in every way. A feast for the senses. Stunning architecture, outstanding service, scent of jasmine and rose throughout, high quality cuisine with an emphasis on local products and vendors. Our room, with semi-private pool and courtyard was extremely clean, comfortable, modern. A dyson hairdryer!! The semi-private courtyard with small pool was a calming retreat after the cacophony of sites and smells in the souk. Staff is genuinely hospitable. Every detail attended to - water bottles filled regularly, concierge service at your fingertips (using your personal direct service telephone line), your room is chock full of goodies - nuts, fruit, sweets abound. Excellent location within the medina, yet still quiet.

Paradise on earth! This place is situated just jnside the Medina but that said it is an oasis of tranquility and beauty with wonderful staff that provide the best service i have ever experienced! Exquisite in every way. From the amazing rooms to the hammam and roof terrace with its cool down pool, loungers and bar this place delivers on every level. The staff are immaculate, friendly and so very attentive. You will be greeted on the bustling street outside by one of the brilliant staff who bring you inside the Riad (actially 4 riads make up the hotel) into the cool calm with an offering of stuffed dates and almond milk to refresh u after your journey. We stayed in the Lion Suite and the Rhino Suite both glamorous and sumptuous with traditional Moroccan treats and fruit every day. We can highly recommend the in site hammam and massage both wonderful options in the spa. Make sure to take the cooking class with Miriam and chef Boushka its on the roof terrace kitchen and was such a lovely experience. This is unfortunately not an adult only hotel so the quiet was occasionally punctured by the noise from child guests who were not kept under control by their indulgent parents but with nothing to occupy children on the roof terrace this was undoubtedly the best place to go to avoid them

This hotel cannot be beaten in terms of decor and staff service. The title of this review is not an exaggeration. My wife is an interior designer and sold Moroccan furniture. The attention to detail of the design, patterns, and color mix is beyond anything we have seen (that's why there is a book for purchase). The service is intimate rather than snobbish. The staff knows your name, language(s) you speak, how you like your coffee, etc.

Our stay at the beautiful La Sultana was great. From the beginning of our stay to our departure, we were looked after by a fantastic, professional, and extremely friendly team who took care of every wish. The hotel itself is a feast for the eyes with its opulent Moroccan-style furnishings, the art objects, and the many little corners where you can retreat. The room was large and equipped with all amenities. The only point we can criticize is the pillows, which were unfortunately too big and too firm. We really liked the view from the room of the inner courtyard where the pool is located, and the small balcony offered enough space for two people to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Breakfast was a first-class experience. Lovingly prepared delicacies from international and Moroccan chefs provided a perfect start to the day. Added to this was the attentive and very friendly service of the breakfast chef and his team. Another highlight was the rooftop terrace, where we enjoyed an aperitif at sunset while reflecting on the day and enjoying the view of the majestic Atlas Mountains. In summary, our stay at La Sultana can only be described with the word “Phantastic.”

Evening meals and breakfast were indulgent and variation of choice was perfect. The service was impeccable and breakfast by the pool made us feel really pampered. The hotel is made of several riads joined together and beautifully restored with exquisitely interesting decor.

Cons: Unfortunately our fresh fruits and sweet treats provided on arrival were not kept topped up during stay which was a little disappointing. Mini milk (for tea/coffee) cartons in the minibar were not replenished, we had to keep asking for more. Maybe house keeping could check every day. But that’s nit-picking really!

We really liked how central the location was. Also, the design of the hotel is breathtaking, more beautiful than Bahia Palace for example. They have everything you need: a good restaurant, a spa, pool and rooftop.

* Stunning architecture and design: Intricate details and elegant elements create a truly immersive experience. * Perfect blend of riad charm and 5-star luxury: Authentic Moroccan atmosphere combined with modern amenities. * Preservation of Moroccan heritage: Thoughtful design choices and incorporation of local traditions. * Luxurious amenities: High-quality facilities and services to enhance the guest experience. * Intimate and inviting atmosphere: A cozy and welcoming environment that makes guests feel at home. * Exceptional service: Attentive and friendly staff who go above and beyond to meet guest needs.

Cons: the lack of water spray in the toilets. While this may seem like a small detail, it can be a minor inconvenience for some guests, especially those who are accustomed to this feature.

Everything! A magical Moroccan experience in a most beautiful Riad. We were made to feel like family by ALL the staff but special mention to Anas at reception and Muhammed the dining manager. Our room was stunningly fitted out, authentically styled and super comfortable. The breakfast is OUTSTANDING! The pool was a serene place to relax and cool down after exploring the hustle and bustle of the Medina. Obviously not cheap but worth every dollar.!

The hotel was gorgeous. The rooms were beautifully decorated and such a treat to stay in. Both restaurants were delicious but I preferred the rooftop - a bit more casual and relaxed setting, plus it was outdoors and the staff passed out blankets on chilly evenings. Speaking of which, the service was spectacular. They met every request with confidence, courtesy and patience. They arranged a lovely guide (Mehdi) for my first day exploring the medina. The icing on the cake was my little “to-go” breakfast that was given to me at 5 AM on the day of my departure!

Cons: There was nothing I didn’t like.

“Absolutely beautiful hotel , great location, our stay was truly memorable. Walking within the Riads of the hotel offered a true holistic sense of Moroccan culture. Breakfast setting is quite traditional, exceptional service from the entire team, a special thanks to Isa and the team at the restaurant, and Admin our bellman who gave us a warm smile upon our arrival and every following day that we came in quite tired from our exursions welcomed and assisted us. Excellent, many thanks to all the staff!!

Cons: The only thing that was truly not expected and was a problem was that there wasn't a window in our room and as a result was quite stuffy. We stated our disatisfaction and fortunately there was availability and was upgraded.

La Sultana was everything it advertised- a luxurious hide-away in the heart of Marrakech. The hotel twists and turns, through elegant salons and courtyards, by hidden reading nooks and arrangements of fresh flowers, up curving stairwells to a lovely rooftop garden. The staff was graciously accommodating to our every request. It really is like staying in a fine old Moroccan mansion. We loved it.

The hotel went out of their way to make my 19month old son feel comfortable. The staff were exceptional with my son and we really appreciated it. The rooms were large and spacious and they were kept clean really well.

The hotel itself is stunning. Beautiful interior, few riads in one hotel. Felt very homish! They were cleaning the rooms 2 times a day, which was a great aspect especially when you travel with your kid. Excellent food - 5stars and great stuff managing the hotel rooms.

Cons: Beginning from the staff in the reception, they were not smiling except the apprenticeship working at that time. We asked for a nanny they provide us with very expensive pricing ( 22 euro by hour - which is expensive for Marrakesh but its tourist price, in another hotel which was also high level standard we were offerend a nanny for 10 euro by hour). Secondly the massage - for very fancy hotel the masssage was meh. We asked for facial massage as a couple in one room(which they said they do), we ended making full-body one hour massage in one room as it finaly turned out - they dont have facial massage for couples. The food is excelent but the coctails and smothies ... need some upgrade.

Management solved our problem as we decided to travel with our 22-year old granddaughter and there was no other room available. They placed another bed in our suite and that was much appreciated. In spite of the confusion outdoors the hotel with its patio-garden, heated swimming pool, tropical plants and even birds, is very peaceful and relaxing. Breakfast is excellent and diner with Moroccan live music also. The bar in the terrace that offers also meals is a good meeting point for friends and to have small meals. I specially loved the Hanmam of the hotel and the excellent staff. I used it twice after walking trips around and felt always relaxed and energised. Local population is very kind and helpful.

Cons: I was not expecting so much traffic and pollution inside the Medina. In the first 2-3 days I was afraid of crossing the streets. By the end of our stay I was more confident and followed the local people, crossing next to them. Surprisingly there are no accidents.

This is a fabulous oasis in the middle of the oldest part of Marrakech. Whilst there is a considerable bustle in the streets below, inside it is silent and serene. The five year restoration has been accomplished with architectural sensitivity and brought the hotel up to world class standards. The staff actually remember you name, your drinks, miss you if you miss breakfast; it has been years since I encountered that. There are loads of places to sit, lounge or generally hang out. The food and service in the hotel is really good. The eating locations around the swimming pool and on the roof terrace are gorgeous.

Despite the decor and art, it was more interesting to watch the real daily life from the rooftop terrace than from the enslaved opulence guarded within the hotel walls. This may be the best hotel we've ever stayed at. When booking, we shied away from the pricing, but once having arrived, decided it was well worth it. It is exquisitely decorated, with amazing details everywhere the eye lands. By the 5th day, we were still seeing beautiful new architectural elements and accents. There is a large rooftop garden that is a delightful, relaxing oasis in the craziness that is Marrakech. Breakfast and lunch are served there. Be careful though, breakfast is expensive at 20 euros pp. Also, at mid-day, we shared an appetizer of 6 small pieces and were charged for a full lunch - ouch! Otherwise, the service is very friendly and helpful. I went to the Hamam, which was clean and pleasant.

Great stay due but a combination of the incredibly high-level of helpful, service and the physical space itself. Beautiful room with huge bed (two four foot mattresses pushed together which did give a slight hump in the middle otherwise perfect). Lovely roof terrace with bar, comfortable seating, tables for eating at & a sunbathing area with loungers & unheated splash pool to cool down in. Sun loungers were very low to the ground & rather difficult to get up from for the less nimble! Also a roof top restaurant for fair weather dining. A beautiful heated pool on the ground floor & tables & chairs next to pool for eating if weather not perfect & in the winter months. Food & service very good but some items on menu rather small portions. Food is fairly expensive as you would expect in a hotel of this standard. A good choice of restaurants nearby. Overall a very pleasant & relaxing week in stunning surroundings.

While in Marrakech I visited the nicest five stars hotels for dinner and they were nice, but they could have been any where in the World. In la Sultana you feel like you actually are in Morocco right next to the saadian tombs and a great mosque. The staff got out their way to accommodate my dietary restrictions. Everyday they made me fresh almond milk for my cappuccino and many other things I requested. Many of the rooms have themes like zebra, lion, or elephant, and they are fancy decorated. My family and I really enjoyed our stay a this hotel!

No photographs and no words can do justice to this gorgeous riad. La Sultana is by far the most gorgeous place I've ever stayed in - it feels like a fairy tale, a magical palace that is also your cozy home. It was an absolute highlight of our travel through Europe and Africa. The location is excellent – you are in the very heart of the medina, yet completely quiet, private and secluded. The rooms are the work of art; the swimming pool and the spa are breath-takingly beautiful. Their interior design unbelievable, with masterfully selected art. The staff - Ilyass, Rachida, Khalid and Saida treated us like family every minute of the stay. In one of our rooms, we had a minor technical glitch, that most hotels wouldn't even consider an issue. Folks at La Sultana surprised us with an upgrade to a luxurious two story suite with a balcony, and to spare us the inconvenience of moving (!) offered to keep our suitcases in the original room. We were speechless. The only tough part of the stay was that we had to leave… Oh, and the food in the restaurant is delectable. And the spa is excellent.

The hotel was beautifully decorated and good location for access to sites. There was no elevator to our room and it was up a somewhat treacherous staircase for senior citizens. La Sultana Marrakech is a luxurious hotel ideally located in the old city, close to the main attractions and only a ten minute walk from Jemaa El Fna square. Just a few yards from the busy Rue de la Kasbah, you enter into an oasis of calm from the ‘hustle and bustle’ that is the Marrakech Medina! There are amazing views from the panoramic terraces which overlook the Saadian Tombs. The hotel is well appointed in traditional Riad style with rooms facing onto central courtyards. Each area had its own design and furnishing theme and we were impressed by the architecture and attention to detail, We had a ground floor Prestige room which was very well appointed and spacious with a great sunken bath! The service in all areas of the hotel, from reception to restaurants, was outstanding. We were always addressed by name in the restaurant and by the reception staff. All the staff were very attentive and pro-active, anticipating your every need but in a calm, understated manner. Hassan arranged for us to have a guide to show us around the Medina for our first morning which provided the ideal introduction and orientation. He also arranged for a full day’s private tour to the High Atlas mountains which was outstanding, great scenery and a further insight into Moroccan life, history and the Berbers. This was our first visit to Morocco and we could not have chosen a better hotel! Great location, outstanding architecture and décor and service that could not be faulted!
