Centrally located in the middle of the medina, walking distance to palace, main square, many nice restaurants. Breakfast basic juice, bread, tea, coffee and croissant every day, but fresh and nice. Friendly staff and always available. No toiletries provided so bring your own. Only cost 100 dirham to get to airport on return. Paid 300 on way there, so hope this helps you know what to pay for taxis.

The room and location were great but would not recommend. Very awkward and unwelcoming staff for Morocco. Can do better for the price in Madina.

Cons: Very unwelcoming upon arrival and awkward staff. Increased price a little bit on arrival and gave us a hard time for being late for breakfast (10:30) which was not specified on arrival. Very noisy until midnight.

They included breakfast, but this was only bread and jam.

Cons: We arrived and they asked us to pay upfront in cash, even if there was nothing written on Booking about paying cash (only that we would have to pay on site). Then we walked up to our room which was tiny and instead of the double bed we had booked, there were two individual beds. We asked the staff and they promised they would change our room in the morning. The next day they said “we don’t remember promising anything” and didn’t change the room. Only on the fourth day they pushed the beds together and told us it was now a double room. Not a pleasant experience. Also the road with the Riad is so dark - I wouldn’t recommend especially if travelling solo.

Beautiful and Peaceful Riad: Authentic riad with friendly staff and a calm atmosphere. Just 10 minutes from Jemaa el-Fna, yet completely quiet. Perfect stay!

Cons: Minor downside: the breakfast is quite basic—bread and jam, no fruit or eggs.

Roof over your head and clean sheets, that is about it

Cons: Owners extremely loud. They have friends around each night and talk very loud and laughing until very late at night, up until 3am we had them being awfully loud!!! The streets outside terrible too. The beds are uncomfortable. Really not a pleasant stay. If you want to get any sleep, go elsewhere. You will finish your stay here with a bad back and exhausted due to no sleep

The hotel owners also seemingly enjoy having friends around and being very noisy until late in the morning, chatting, shouting and laughing loudly. You can hear absolutely everything in this Riad. Beds are very uncomfortably and tiny, they are rock hard. Over the four nights I maybe managed to sleep 3 hours a night due to the noise and the horribly uncomfortable beds. The sounds from outside and the front door knocking and squeaking open and close, being slammed all throughout the night are terrible. The AC doesn’t work. AVOID. Horrid place. Breakfast is small and language barrier very difficult. You would be best off spending your money elsewhere. In fact, do not even bother coming to Marrakesh. There are many nicer places you can go

This riad is very authentic and elegant in its simplicity, but equally there is attention to details. The staff is friendly and will try to help you with whatever you need. The riad itself is perfectly placed in the heart of Medina, however it is very quiet at night. Nice simple breakfast included with some bakery and freshly squeezed orange juices! Great value of money!!

Location was ok but super crowded all the time and lot of noise

Cons: It took me 1 hour to find the location . The google maps took me to another location plus there is very poor reception to use my phone Also the owner was not helpful on the phone and I had to hire someone to finally take me there. Stuff do not speak English and communication was hard but they are nice. The value of money was not worth. They don’t have machine so I had to come all the way to the square to cash money and go back to them to pay with local currency. I almost missed my flight !

Super friendly and kind staff and it’s very clean and quiet with a rooftop

Cons: Internet didn’t work, felt super awkward being there and the doors were shut at 10pm. I was overcharged once I got there and there was no breakfast. I was the only person in the riad which made me feel super uncomfortable. The room is super dark and orange and just cold and depressing. I left after the 2nd night of staying there and just paid again for another hotel. Waste of money and as a single female travelling it was just uncomfortable.

I am very impressed with the staff. They are a true embodiment of Morrocan hospitality. They are friendly, patient and helpful. The lady cleaner is always cleaning our rooms. The room has proper water heating, toilet has bidet and tissue, and the room has good airconditioning. BREAKFAST was amazing! especially the orange juice and bread (straight from the bakery)😁. Location was ideal especially when you love you shop in the m arket. It is near several spa and meeting place for tours. Overall value was good for the budget since we booked a little late. 👍👍👍

Cons: Wifi was only available at the reception. It will not reach your rooms. They did not provide bath soap and shampoo. The bed mattress is a little bit sturdy but will be good for your spine alignment.

Spent the whole week and enjoyed the riad, small but clean. Staff arguing on a daily basis or very loud disagreements. Breakfast very samey. Staff do not speak english, owner who sleeps at riad each night a little english. The last eve and day it fell apart, spoke with owner on last evening, he advised city tax of 27€ which we had missed on our paperwork and was supposed to be collected on first day. We asked owner if we could use the room the following day before our 4pm departure, he said yes yes no problem, we thanked him. Then came the last day, spent the morning doing last bits of gift shopping, thinking the room was all ok (only 2 rooms out of 7 being used ) came back, showered and changed, ready to leave for pick up. Loud banging on our door after a lot of shouting between owner and staff outside room. Partner answered door to a shouting owner, saying you paid for 7 not 8 nights, you must leave. We then realised he had not understood what we had asked and hurriedly grabbed cases and went to leave. As going through door owner started shouting, then realised it was about city tax, we had forgotten, genuinely which somehow now had become €35. Not having enough money and everything outside the riad door, my partner left to walk for 10 mins to nearest cashpoint. I was happy to wait outside as i was a little annoyed, owner insisted i wait in riad and started putting my bags inside.....realised then this was to stop me walking away ( 1 large 2 hand and medical equipment and walking stick, not happening). Partner returned put money on counter, we then left, no thankyou, no goodbye, no hope you enjoyed your stay. Very rude and no chance to explain a communication error. Our first visit to marrakech, had actually looked at returning to riad, not now, ruined the last part of experience for us. Will return but will stay elsewhere. Bad points: 24hr reception at night owner sleeping in lounge room, during early evening can be found sitting on stool at locals riad opposite in alleyway. Staff constantly loudly disagreeing which can be heard through whole riad. On arriving no information given, about anything. Moody owner speaks when he wants too. Good points: clean and local to souks and market

BEWARE OVERBOOKING: Beware Riad Marrakiss are overbooking and sending you to Riad Eva, which they also own. I was sent there and it is not good. NO SAFETY for your valuables in the whole riad,, and rooms left open when being cleaned. No receipts given, for cash paid for room (I asked for one). Cracks to mirror, electric plug not flush with wall,, generally down at heal, cracks and chips to sink. ETC , ETC. But GOOD breakfast, nice cleaner/ breakfast person, very limited English was not a problem. I have stayed in Marrakiss lots of times and it has always been fine. NOT NOW

We stayed in this riad for about 6 days. When we got in the room was smaller than we initially thought, but it was big enough for us. Rooms were cosy and clean, rooftop terrace had an amazing view over the entire town and the atlas mountains, staff was hard working and very nice (also don't speak english or very little apaft from the manager), this riad is smack back centre of the medina but you won't hear a single thing apart from the mosques and the breakfast was good. Overall had a great time staying here and would definitely recommend this riad.

This is a typical Riad, right in the Medina and close to Jemaa el-Fnaa square. Clean sheets and towels every day, hot water and excellent shower. Nice twin room on upper floor. Breakfast of pastries which was more than adequate to start the day. Only problem was a very hard therefore uncomfortable bed.

My wife and I stayed next door at Riad les 2 Portes for two nights, but there was not availability for a third night. Luckily, there was availability right next door at Marrakiss, and my wife enjoyed our stay. Our room was ready first thing in the morning, and was clean and inviting. In the morning, we had a small breakfast of pastries, bread and coffee/tea. The Wifi at this riad only worked in the courtyard, which was the only downside to our stay.

Great location in the Medina. Very easy to find and a quiet haven from the hustle and bustle of the local area. The staff were superb and the owner even slept in the property on our last night in order to make us breakfast earlier than usual because we had to leave early. Our only hiccup was the fact we ordered 4xTwin rooms and the property didn't cater for this despite me receiving confirmation (was this Hotels.com fault??). Not ideal for 8 lads when two of the rooms are doubles but they found an extra bed and we just about managed!! Nice rooms if a little dark but a very authentic riad.

This Riad is a very charming place within the souks. Hard to find at first upon arrival, so advice is to arrange for a shuttle where a man with little carriage will bring you, via the El Fna square to the hotel. Rooms are small but decorated in a true Morrocan style. New airco/heating unit. Yusuf is the best. Accomodating everybody in a soft and gentle manner. Even changed his day shift for night to bring my older mother and myself to the square at 4 AM!

Had a really good stay at Raid Marrakiss last week. The location of the Riad is excellent! You will be in Jemaa el-Fna in a short 3 minute walk. I looked at other properties that were further away, and I'm really glad that I stayed here due to the close proximity to the square, and plentiful restaurants in the area. Josef and his staff were most accommodating, questions answered, tips etc. The area around the Riad is safe, the alleyway to the Riad is dark, but never felt uncomfortable walking solo at night. Do watch for a pack of young boys that wanted their photo taken, and could have been pick-pockets. Just give a firm NO, and keep walking. Although it woke you up at 0616, the call to prayer was really interesting to hear!

Location couldn't be better being so close to the Jemaa el-Fnaa square yet very quiet at night. Staff are genuinely very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They are very proud of the Riad. Lovely atmosphere throughout. Good breakfast served in the cool central courtyard where there is wifi. Recommended.

Very comfortable, clean & friendly place to stay close to main square. Ideal location. If arriving late, can be difficult to find the final street & house so advise contacting owner who is always available to help & meet to bring to Riad. Breakfast consisted of small pancakes, fresh bread, spreadable cheese, marmalade, croissant, coffee, mint tea & orange juice. Stayed 7 days & highly recommended.

After my third trip in three years, I still want to go back again!! Marrakech is a special magical place and should be seen and experienced by everyone. Every corner turned, especially in the souks, brings a new exciting happening. From snake charmers to street acrobats to story tellers to street food to constant bartering to freshly squeezed fruit juices - there are surprises all around.

I did not like the fact that Ihad to walk down a dark alley to get to the Hotel. The beds were very hard The wifi did not work in the bedrooms No TV The breakfast was just hard bread and jam with triangle cheese and Mint tea The only good thing was the guys had nice smiles and they tried their best to please.

Stayed for 5 days in this small intimate and very quiet Riad, just 7 rooms. For couples 1,5,6,7 are the best, 3 is the least desirable. Staff is very friendly, helpful and available 24 hours. Breakfasts were ample and good. Like all Riads, there is a nice terasse. Clean, towels were changed daily. I would return

A peaceful idyll inside but just a few minutes from the souks & square. Comfortable ,cool rooms & courtyard, pretty sun terraces with views of the city & distant mountains. Wifi best in the courtyard (with free mint tea!). Aziz & Az-eddine couldn't have been more friendly ,helpful or courteous. A breakfast of pancake, apricot jam, bread & cheese, orange juice, tea or coffee served promptly on arrival in dining room & was offered early on day of trip & early departure. I was delighted to have room 5 which has a little sun terrace just outside. Tip- you will need to use the shower hose for hot water in the basin & take your own plug. Aziz has a hairdryer you can borrow.

Lovely riad right by the main square in the Medina. lovely cosy room, clean, with hot water, en suite, comfy bed and a safe and air con in the room. Very peaceful and relaxing. Breakfast was bread, jam butter, pancakes, coffee/tea and orange juice. Very good for our price range and the location is brilliant, as it is very quiet once inside the riad, you cannot hear any noise from the main square. Staff were friendly and helpful. We went as a couple and were given plenty of freedom, no questions asked and a key to the main door so we had access at all times.

Riad is clean friendly staff very quite for location, as it is 5 mins walk from main square el fna and the souks. do except to be woken at 5.30 am for the call to prayer. taxis cannot go up street you will have to walk from square and more than likely have someone show where to go for a small price of course.

Very short walk from the central square; very helpful hotel staff. Got very good deals for excursions with help from the reception staff. Hotel is in an old traditional Riad, with rooms of relatively small size, reasonably clean. Wifi only works within 10-15 yards of reception.

the Riad was hidden away down an alley way which took us a while to find. I would recommend printing a more detailed map than the hotel provides as we ended up asking several people until a guy led us there and then asked for money. The Riad itself was lovely! Very friendly staff who greeted us with some Moroccan tea before showing us our room. The room was very basic but clean and had heating/air con. The shower wasn't fixed onto the wall properly but it was a big shower and hot so we didn't mind. The Riad had a really nice roof terrace where you can go and relax, even in January it was really warm up there and nice and quiet. All in all it was a very good place to stay in the heart of Marrakech. I would recommend anyone to stay there!

We loved our stay here. The location was fantastic - less than a 5 minute walk to the main Jemaa el Fna square. We loved the roof terrace - excellent views and surprisingly peaceful! Our room was comfortable and clean (don't expect a lot of space though) and all the facilities worked well. The staff were very friendly & spoke pretty good English too. Breakfast was simple but quite filling. This isn't a huge Riad & doesn't have a restaurant or Hammam on site but this really wasn't necessary as it is so close to the main square. We would recommend to look it up on a map before arrival as it could be hard - the locals will help but will expect a fee! Overall a really great place & we would definitely come back.

The Riad staff were very friendly and very accommodating. The Riad was right in the heart of the Medina area with all the souks within a few minutes walk. Also within walking distance to many of the sights, Koutoubia Mosque and gardens, the Cyber Park, Saadien Tombs and several Palaces plus a whole lot more. A great stay. Thank you Riad Marrakiss!

We chose the accommodation for its central location based on the excellent reviews and were not disappointed. The room was small and basic but after one week became cosy. Breakfast was simple and sufficient. Easy access to the a Souks and all of the tourist attractions. If returning to Marrakech we would not hesitate to stay there again.

Lovely traditional riad located in the heart of the medina. Beautifully decorated with Morrocan decor. It's located down a little alleyway off one of the souks. It was so much nicer to be in the heart of it than in some commercialised hotel that could be anywhere, amazingly quiet when the souks can be crazy and hectic. They welcomed us with mint tea. We struggled a bit with communicating in English as they speak French but we made ourselves understood. There is free wifi but mainly on the ground floor. Breakfast was crepes in syrup, orange juice, mint tea, jam, bread and coffee. Bonus of aircon in the rooms! Would have been uncomfortable without! Great little spot.

This was our first trip to Marrakech, and it was certainly a memorable one. Upon arrival at the airport, we found out there was a miscommunication which led to a lack of airport shuttle. This was quickly remedied though after a quick call to the riad, and we were soon on our way. The riad is in a perfect place, I cannot stress that enough, right in the city centre, perfect for a city break, it's not for a relaxing holiday! It's a clean place, with good friendly staff who always attend to any requests. The breakfast is good, and provided decent moroccan coffee as well as authentic street food. The riad had a lovely open roof, with sunbeds (which could benefit from a little clean) which meant you could just roast away in the burning sun. All in all, definitely a riad I would recommend. The riad is situated in a quiet alleyway, just off the central square, which meant you weren't bothered by the loudness of the market! Now, the markets have an average pace of a million miles an hour. Everything is fast paced, and you are constantly asked to view the markets goods, which you never pay full price for. Just say your price, if they refuse, walk away, and they'll call you back and agree to it! Local food is good, one restaurant I would recommend is Chez Brahim, which provides fantastic food for a great price. With regards to locals and staring at women who were dressed for the sun, we didn't experience any hostility! A trip we'd do again!

Really recommend this Riad. Good price, it is really located in the heart of the Medina which is what you want if you want a truly Marrakeshy experience. The staff were always very helpful and nice. Rooms were impeccable. Just a few things to bear in mind: they don't provide soap so bring your own (I personally don't carry soap when flying on a budget airline, but this wasn't a problem for us as we bought some around). Also we were told by several local people that the food found in restaurants and the main square lacks spices and is very tasteless compared to home made meals. So we were told to eat in the Riad for a better experience, but this Riad as is small doesn't have a restaurant. Again this wasn't a problem for us because although we were disappointing at first that we were going to miss out in nice Moroccan food it turned out we were out most of the time and far from the hotel at dinner time so ended up eating outside (there are plenty of places to eat as you would imagine).

We stayed in central Marrakech for two nights. This riad is perfectly placed off the central square (about 5 mins) and is seconds away from the souks. Given the proximity to the hustle and bustle of the city, the riad is really quiet and relaxing. There is also a great roof terrace from which you can see over most of the city. Our room was lovely, with stained glass windows and a wonderfully roomy shower. My only personal issue was how firm the bed was, but I like a really soft mattress normally. Breakfast was basic, but good and the perfect start for a day exploring the city.

This is the third time I have stayed here at Riad Marrakiss. For closeness to everything that Jemma El Fna has to throw at you - stalls, souks, story tellers, acrobats, snake charmers, restaurants and mint teas. It is an excellent place to get your barings ( sometimes tricky in Medina) and is only a walk away from most of the museums and tourist sights. Wonderful - will go again.

For Riad, think a guest house and this one has 5 or 6 rooms. It is WELL WORTH THE MONEY and the staff are very helpful ( try and speak French, however little you know and this will go a long way ANYWHERE in Marrakech). The Manager (Jonas) was very helpful to me and the other members of staff the same...school boy French got me through. The breakfasts were 'Hearty', large bun and cheese, orange juice, honey crepe, jam and a mint tea ( my choice). It was hearty fair and kept me going through the morning. Almost anywhere in Marrakech you will hear the call to prayers ( especially Friday ) take this as a part of the experience ! The bed was clean, good (firm) and I slept like a log. Ask Jonas for help in locating places and eating out, he recommended a great place to me and so cheap, I avoided eating on the stalls in the square, but the food in the place he recommended, was good ( Lamb Tangine), also ask about taxis, back to airport, when you get there. He was always helpful, even if he was working.

The welcome is warm and friendly but it stops there. There is often no one around. The hot water is hit and miss and the noise of the boys that gather outside of the riad at night is overwhelming. The room is cold and I would have asked for a blanket if I had seen anyone to ask. It is my opinion that the riad stay is over-rated but do it once and for one night to experience the medina OR stay at the Ibis which is one the edge of the medina and cheaper than this place.

Lovely Riad, tucked up a quiet side street off the main square. From the rooftop outside space you wouldn't believe you are in central Marrakech, it is so quiet. We enjoyed our time at the marrakiss largely because of its great location, also the rooftop terrace has nice views and the staff were friendly. That said we were cold at night due to lack of heating, the shower light didn't work, hot water is sketchy and wifi only works in the courtyard. But you get what you pay for! I would recommend this place if you want a riad experience for a few nights close to all the action.

I loved this Riad. It's 30 seconds from a bustling, pedestrian street, 2 minutes from the Djeema el-Fna but once inside it's so quiet and peaceful. It's also on one of the very few streets with an actual street sign at the entrance, so easier to find than I expected. Breakfast is the same every day, but who doesn't like pancakes, bread, cheese and jam? The only downside some might find is that the owner/receptionist is quite taciturn. Not rude, I don't think, just very quiet. On the whole, a great place and a great price!

This riad is in a great location. Close enough to get to everything quickly and easily but far enough away that you don't get any noise (other than the calls to prayer several times a day). The breakfast wasn't fantastic but your not going there for a good breakfast so it didn't bother us. I personally didn't find the manager super-friendly but he did help a couple of times with booking taxi's.

A classic 7 room Morrocan Riad, located close to the Place de Jamaa El Fna and within easy walking distance of the Souks. Josef is the manager, a gentle trustworthy individual who will take care of you. The rooms are small, clean, with ensuite shower/wc, good a/c, in-room safe. Breakfast is simple fare but tasty. The beds were hard, but my wife and I slept well at the end of each full day sight-seeing. You may be disturbed by early morning prayers broadcast from the many mosques, all the city Riads are affected and part of the old city's charm. We stayed three nights at Riad Marakiss and we plan to return in the near future. Arrange the taxi pickup at the airport through Josef to ensure a hassle free trip to the door of the hotel.

Great little riad, we found it easily from the main square down a covered alley, directions from the website were easy to follow. Our room was very clean with a cute little en-suite, all in traditionbal marrakesh style. The bed was quite hard but we slept very well non the less! Air conditioning was very good and needed as the night temperature was still in the high twenties in September. The rooftop terrace was a godsend and I spent a couple of hours catching the rays each afternoon, lovely loungers and tables and chairs available. Breakfast was adequate with bread, jam or cheese, fresh orange juice and mint tea(yummy) or coffee, served in the enclosed courtyard with the sun shining down. The staff were very heplfull and even arranged a hamman for me, offering a tourist or a traditional one (undertaken at the local baths..females only..where I joined local women and got scrubbed, buffed and massaged!) This is a very clean and well maintained riad, within easy walking distance of the square, I would reccomend it if you enjoy getting up close and personal with the locals.
