Cons: Somewhat pricey compared to other riads, and the breakfast was underwhelming. The shower had cold water at night, and although there was hot water during the day, it suddenly stopped twice before returning after a few seconds.

The location in the medina was good, but it was down a pretty rough alley.
Cons: Our room on the top floor smelt and felt damp. The bed and our clothes felt damp. The smell of sewage from our en suite bathroom was terrible. The shower cubicle leaked water on the floor without it being on and the shower head support was broken so the shower head couldn’t be supported. Finally the wifi didn’t reach our room.

In generale, consigliato.

Initially we both loved les matins bleus as we had a warm welcome and the staff particularly Samir was very helpful in terms of booking up additional trips for us. I was grateful for his help with the hammam and a camel ride on the beach. And he had offered to tell us the best places to shop but then the relationship deteriorated and we didn't see him again.
Cons: My biggest disappointment was the way that the billing was done. I found out from another resident at the Ryad explained that those of us who booked through Booking.com were charged more than those that booked direct. The whole way the billing was done caused many people staying there problems and we heard a number of disagreements between Samir and other guests during our stay. I had received the price in £ pounds but Samir only dealt in Euros. Usually with booking a payment is taken by card but in Morocco they prefer to deal with cash so we had to settle at the end of our stay. Monzo has a limit that you can withdraw in 30 days and we had gone over that amount so were being charged a huge percentage for any further cash withdrawals. I got charged 5% more for paying by debit card and even taking that into account my total bill was 11% more than the amount quoted by booking. I tried to explain that to Samir and said I was not happy. He said I was wrong but being the daughter of an accountant my mental arithmetic is excellent. This haggling over the bill and the inability to put it right left a sour taste in my mouth. I paid it but I felt very let down by both booking.com and Samir who owned the hotel. On my return to Marrakech I met a Canadian who had stayed at LMB and to whom Samir had said that she had paid too much and he would reimburse her the difference but he never did. When you run a hotel it's important that a member of staff is always available but there were large chunks of time when there was no one around. Another thing I feel it's important to have in the description because I was travelling to an Arabic country with a young girl and Les Matins Bleus is in a run down alleyway that's not particularly safe. And the breakfast was very dry and there was a lot of cake so I never ate much.

Great location in the medina, in easy walking distance of Bab Marrakech. The hotel is a former family home and is lovingly looked after by the owners. It’s amazingly quiet for being right in the hustle and bustle of the medina! The rooftop terrace is a great place to relax, and the suite we booked was comfortable, clean, and very roomy! Great place to relax and wind down after a day of shopping or sightseeing. The shower was great too, with plenty of hot water and good pressure. Breakfast was typical for Morocco, and the coffee was better than anywhere else we stayed. Overall a fantastic experience. If you’re looking for souvenirs in the Medina, ask the owner! He gave me a great recommendation for jewelry and I got some lovely pieces for a good price.

We stayed at Riad Les Matins Bleus for 3 nights, and it was truly one of the best experiences we've ever had. Samir, his wife Meryem, and Youness were incredibly kind, warm, and welcoming, they made us feel completely at home from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere was peaceful, the service was exceptional, and their hospitality went beyond our expectations. We will definitely come back and highly recommend this wonderful place to anyone visiting.

Super friendly staff and this simple Riad has a good feel. In the heart of town so nowhere is hard to get to. Other guests were friendly in the cosy surrounds. Bonus was an outdoor washing line with a great sea breeze. Washing machine here too. A little hard to find at first as down a back alley which also meant it was quiet.

A well located property in a quiet alley of the Medina, beside a small mosque. The room # 9 was very spacious, fresh and confortable with a nice terrace for seating, reading or relaxing. The Riad is well located in a quiet corner of the Medina. The room # 7 at the top of the building was invaded by a strange repugnant smell that didn’t go away even with all the tricks I used like leaving door and window open and burning incense, a really bad experience. Fortunately I was able to move to another better room the following day. Breakfast was based on carbs and sugar, however this is a problem in almost all Moroccan riads, it doesn’t matter the comments, complaining or suggestions we make, still they don’t add an egg or a piece of fruit.

The location is quite convenient – right in the center od Medina. The owner is super nice, be sure to receive some tips of what to visit. :) We stayed for one night only, and even though we were unlucky with the weather, we enjoyed the stay anyways. The breakfast is quite simple yet tasty – msemen with two types of jam and honey + coffee / tea. Too bad we couldn't enjoy the rooftop, hopefully some other time. :) thanks a lot, recommended!
Cons: The location could be described better (at least I haven't noticed any specific directions at Booking). The booking location directs you to another street and it's quite easy to get lost (I mean getting lost in Medina is a fun part as well and I'd say a necessity when in As-Sawira). :)

The place is beautiful and so relaxing. The staff is lovely, everyone welcome you with a smile and it's very approachable. The location is perfect and safe. The breakfast was simple but very good. The owner gave us recommendations for dinner and lunch and both places were very good and cheap.

If I had known this beforehand, I would not have booked 13 days: 1. shower and toilet outside the room 2. no window and virtually no daylight in the small room 3. so much cat smell and cat dirt in front of the entrance 4. the shower head of the shower was defective 5. unfortunately I booked 13 days in advance. On the 2nd day I asked if I could travel on after 6 days. Unfortunately this was not possible, I had to stay 13 days and pay for 13 days. Very, very uncooperative Never again this hotel.

An adorable family Riad. Two of us stayed in the suite that fits up to four people, so we felt we had our own little flat. The breakfast was homemade traditional Moroccan and we felt full well past lunch. Very cosy and cute decor.

We loved the decor and the location inside the Medina. We love cats so were happy to see so many and give them cat food easily purchased in bulk in the Medina. The room was simple but fine. We were welcomed with mint tea on the terrace. The lady was very nice.
Cons: Breakfast was minimal. Could have been better. We would have liked to have been told what dinner with them was like as we were served a meal without knowing what it was in advance and we were alone in a room. There was no one else around. We had to pay cash because their credit card machine wasn't working. There were no toiletries such as soap or shampoo and only one half roll of toilet paper. We found one tiny bar of soap and had to ask for more.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Despite being located in a busy street of the Medina, when the doors of this riad opens, the noise stays out. The courtyard has some jungle vibes with beautiful plants hanging from the top floor. Breakfast is simple but fresh and good.

Great location (center but quiet). The dead end street where it's located is a bit dirty because of the stray cats. But that's a common thing here in Marocco so no worries. Also, the location in google maps is not very precise though they tried : the street doesn't appear in maps, not their fault... Just ask the locals for direction if needed but if you look up there are signs ;-) Staff is very friendly and accommodating (gluten free diet needed for breakfast, : served us eggs in replacement for the bread), they recommended a simple, very good good and not expensive restaurant nearby. The interior courtyard and rooftop of the hotel is nice (no panorama but still nice). There's also a shared living room with tv. Our room was simple but nothing to complain, : not too small, and bathroom was more than okay compared to some others in Marocco (shower with seperation, not right by to the toilets). Good value for money, would stay there again if in Essaouira.
Cons: Wifi signal didn't really reach our room

The Riad had so many beautiful details and was very well maintained. We felt very welcomed and safe and loved coming there after walking through the town. The location was also very pleasant. But the highlight was the owner Mohammed Z. who is a really kind and warm person. We will definitely come back when we travel to Essaouira again. Also the artworks of Mohammed Z. are really amazing!

It is a pretty place with lots of plants and a very nice terrace at the top of the property
Cons: The beds were extremely uncomfortable There was a nasty smell in the bathroom which permeated into the bedroom. The staff checked this out and put something down the drains which helped in the short term but it kept coming back. The WiFi was poor in our room although it was available out on the terrace.

The location was perfect. The riad is very stylish and nice designed. Friendly staff!
Cons: Hot water was limited and available only during a day. On the terrace where breakfast was served all the pillows and seats were dusty and we had to clean it before we seat. The breakfast that was served was sweet, not even 1 salty option like olive or eggs.

Lovely staff, just fantastic. The riad is tucked away so it is very quiet and breakfast on the roof was lovely. Cute little riad.
Cons: It was a bit trickey managing the hot water for the showers. It is solar heated which is great but there wasn't always any in the night.

Such a lovely traditional riad in a very central location. Light and airy with lots of plants and two lovely roof terrace areas. Samir and his wife were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Samir booked quadbiking and hammam for us. We had our evening meal cooked one evening two which comprised three courses of very generous portions. Our family 'room' was a lounge with a bathroom coming off it and double bed on a mezzanine plus another double bedroom off the lounge with ensuite bathroom.
Cons: Nothing!! It was a bit tricky to find using google maps the first time as the alley doesn't show so a little extra map in the instructions would help for the initial trip.

The Riad is located in the heart of the Old Town and it's amazing to just go out and walk around.
Cons: Breakfast was not a lot. Really hard to find, Maps will guide you to a wrong street, is actually the parallel one and you need to look up for the sign of the Riad.

Extremely friendly staff, and a very quiet peaceful place to relax. Excellent value for money. We preferred it to another more pricey riad round the corner which we stayed in afterwards! I felt very at home there and would recommend it! We went as a couple and stayed in a twin room. The family rooms looked nice too. The breakfast was simple and yummy.

This was amazingly good value as a hotel. Room was fine - pretty small with toilet/shower opposite. Building is lovely, and very well located close to entrance of Medina. Staff were helpful. Two down sides - bed was pretty uncomfortable, quite hard and i could feel the springs. Definitely could do with updating. Breakfast is plentiful, but very bread/sugar heavy (bread, pancake, cake, honey, jam, orange juice, coffee/tea). Would be nice to have some fruit.

Beautiful Riad in a great location in the centre of the medina. A lovely family run the Riad and they were very helpful throughout. The place is an authentic riad, with the rooms around the courtyard. Staff was nice and breakfast was tasty and diverse. Good location near the main streets, with lots of shops and restaurants. The Jouj suite is great for a family, really nice room with the mezzanine
Cons: The shower was difficult to manage. Very hot or no pressure at all (I believe it dependend on the hour you took your shower, because the water was heated by solar pannels). Also, the alley to get to the place was dirty with litter and had a bad smell

Les Matins Bleus is a beautiful riad hidden away in the medina. The owner gave us a lovely welcome and was extremely in helping us to plan activities/excursions while we were there (surfing, camel ride, trip to Sidi Kauki). It is in a really convenient location - close to all the restaurants, shops, beach etc - but is also a very quiet place to return to if you want a rest away from the hustle and bustle and has a comfy roof terrace to relax on. We had tasty, filling breakfasts and a delicious dinner at the riad and the duplex family room we had was so spacious and comfortable. We would highly recommend this riad to anyone spending some time in Essaouira.
Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like.

Gerne wieder.

It’s very small hotel with only seven rooms. So it was so cozy and quiet, location is perfect to go out for shopping or beach. Receptionists are so kind and ladies also very nice. But you should check the private toilet is not inside. It’s very uncomfortable everytime when i take a shower or go to toilet. So if you are looking for a private toilet, I recommend you to get another hotel. The price with 5% tax will be changed by card so maybe you can find better place with that price.

Wonderful stay at quiet place in back streets of town - apart from frequent mosque prayers nearby. Very nice and helpfull people running the place. Wonderfull terrasse outside the rooms at the upstairs floor. Had not rented a car due to parking outside the city walls, would not have been difficult to park, though. Not always reliable wifi upstairs.

The staff were very friend,y and extremely helpful and we were encouraged to feel at home. Which we definitely did. We should have had dinner here as well as I am sure it would have been good but ran out of time. I had to leave after two nights- I was being eaten alive at night by what I can only imagine were bed bugs. The staff made me pay for my whole reservation despite this. Also, the description of the room and amenities was way off the reality- none of the items described were available. I travel a lot, and am happy in anything from a $5 a night hostel dorm on up, but I wouldn't go back to Les Matins Bleus if you paid me. 10 days on and I'm still covered in bites.
