The guesthouse has seen its best days and is a bit run-down. The owner is very helpful and friendly, but unfortunately, we had to pay a tax of 877 MAD almost 90 EUR, for a local stay tax. This wasn't mentioned during the booking process. Despite trying to contact Expedia customer support, I received no response or assistance.

Gorgeous little riad and a lovely host. We were glad we got the airport transfer as it would have been difficult to locate within the Medina after arrival, but it was actually nice and central and our host met us with a delicious tagine. The terrace was small but did the job and the room was pretty.

Cons: Very very difficult to find and has no signage anywhere. Locals are hassling and make finding the place really stressful

We’ve just returned from our holiday in Marrakech, and while the city itself was a fantastic experience, our stay at Riad La Perle de Marrakech was quite disappointing. On arrival, we found a stark contrast between what was advertised on Expedia and the reality. Basic amenities were missing — no kettle, no proper lighting, no water glasses, and no tea or coffee provided in the room. The air conditioning was barely cooling the room, making it very uncomfortable, especially at night. It seemed like regular maintenance hadn't been carried out. The shared swimming pool was poorly maintained, and to make matters worse, there was no help or staff available if you needed anything in the late evening. Overall, we loved our time in Marrakech, but the accommodation really let the experience down. Hopefully, the management takes these issues seriously and makes the necessary improvements for future guests.

A very happy stay. Suella (so?) couldn’t have been a better host. Truly felt appreciated as the ‘crazy Englishman’. The only downside was finding the riad but that was the fault of map apps. I would recommend this beautiful place to all

Cons: We booked this accommodation for our clients and the least we can say is that we had a bad experience. We found it very difficult to deal with the owner as she is not communicative. Then when our clients got their, this the message we get from them: "We have checked in, but the rooms are not up to standard. The rooms are the worst among all rooms that we stayed at in the trip. There are a lot of stairs which is so hard for elderly. For one of the double room, even the bedroom is on the ground floor, the bed in that room is on the second floor. There is also a flight of rotating metal stairs with sharp corners located right outside the bathroom. It is easy to hit our head there. The two other rooms are on second floor with long and narrow stairs, making it the hardest to carry suitcases. We decide to store all large bags in the ground floor bedroom. I think you may want to skip this lodging for your future guests." It is better to AVOID!

Merci.

This is a medium size house in a busy bit of Marrakech. We were taken down alleys ways by our driver into a small black door. Inside we found a peaceful orange courtyard. The rooms we were given were small but comfortable. The little dipping pool was great for cooling off at the end of the day after walking the busy streets of Marrakech medina. The breakfast was plentiful and we had one evening meal which was a fabulous tasting beef and prune tagline homemade that day. The best thing about this Riad was the owner and her daughter. Service was excellent, suela helped us with advice on where to go, chatted to us about our day and even helped me with a missing button on my shirt. I’d highly recommend this riad for service and value for money.

Owner was very friendly & location was right in the centre old city. owner made us dinner even at 11:30 pm at night bless her.

Cons: room was very complicated & not very cleaned. we booked for 4 nights & 3 days. we didn’t expect uncomfortable bedrooms so requested a refund after one night stay but owner refused it. Dust underneath the bed, stain pillow. it’s was no worth the cost & definitely need a update in room. we had to climb a stair to go to bed which was not mentioned while booking.

Cons: One small pool and too small for one person. Location- impossible to find. Location on the map is wrong and dont help you at all. Only change is to use local boys to guide you to riad. Sure, they ask a nice amount for that. That facility has no spa. Owner will lead you to the local hammam where you will be charged much more then normal. In bathroom, water is not going away (both sink and shower). Bed is made from wood and is hard as wood. Locking doors is complicated. All facility needs a big cleaning day.

Very plesant old riad. To get to the hotel was a mission as the narrow street are not signed and there are so manny different ways to get to the riad and no signage outside so looks like all other houses from the front. Suggest the owners invest in some printed directiins of around the riad so guests can find there own way back instead of paying the kids to bring you back. So so e literature about the area would help. When asked about local places just generalised directiin was given. Actual Riad was well hidden and no signage outside to show this is the right place. Room was very small with double bed that was so noisy and mattress was on chip board's so sleep was not comfy. Breakfast was traditional only. Toilet and shower was litrally 2 steps in front of toilet, so no extra space . As the toom was so cold had to get additional oil filled heater which was supplied. No fridge in room so guving it 4 starts is a wonder. If accuray described then it would be a plesant old traditional place to stay when in Old Madina.

The price was right for a last-minute stay in Marrakech. However annoying it was that the receptionist was smoking while checking me in, he really went out of his way to accommodate all my needs. He not only walked me to the ATM and taxi in the morning, he also went out of his way to print my boarding pass for me.

Cons: The Riad is located in a very small, dark alleyway that was very hard to find. The downstairs reception area was messy and filled with a lot of junk. Reception area was an old sofa and coffee table littered with trash and cigarette butts.

Wouldn't recommend. Service is pretty average, not warm and welcoming like other riads. Felt more like it was an inconvenience to have us there. Didn't pick this place, hotels.com relocated us here to their expensive suite. Thought that would have bought us some goodwill, but apparently not. Room seemed clean but the bthroom smells of raw sewage. Breakfast, just skip it. Not worth it. Bit of bread and coffee. Paid 100 dirhams for their shuttle to the train station in the morning. Driver or riad owner decided that us making it to the station was not a priority. He drove away from the direction of the station and dropped the owners daughter off to school. He then seemed annoyed when we left him a small tip wanting more. Maybe if he had dropped us at the station since we paid 100 dirhams for it.

Fazit: Ich habe in Marrakesch schon in weit besseren Riads gewohnt.

The hostess was very pleasant and truly enjoys her job. My luggage did not arrive for 3 days and she was very conscientious about checking several times a day until it arrived. We reserved the triple suite, which was not available, however she refunded the difference in price and was able to accommodate us in separate rooms when available. Due to the nature of the way the Medina is set up, the Riad is difficult to find on your own, I recommend arranging airport transfer ahead of time.

- This is not a hotel. This is a 5 room house - Hotel location makes you feel unsecure. - Room was cold and unpleasent - Breakfast was only 2 different type of bread just 1 marmalade and orange juice - Commuting was diffucult for a foreigner - The pictures and the hotel dont give the same feeling. I would never stay at this hotel again.

Highly recommend booking transport through hotel to save the trouble of taxis overcharging and leaving you in an area where you have to pay someone to take you to the Riad. Souhaila was so helpful with every thing and she gave us advice on how to navigate the maze that is the old city. Highly recommend you stay here! It's a beautiful hotel.

This hotel was advertised as a 4 star hotel, and it was hard to see how it got this rating. If it was advertised as a 3 star we would have been very happy with it. The 4 star was inaccurate and misleading.

A small Riad which has a high 4 star rating on Expedia, failed to live up to expectations. The quality of this hotel was little more that of a basic guest house, with limited facilities, small room , and very cold at night and at breakfast with no or minimal heating. The pool was a dip pool , not a swimming pool. There was no TV in the bed room only one in the owners living room which had to be shared with the owner and her 11 year old daughter. A 4 star establishment should have proper heating and airconditioning, a decent swimming pool, a menu and pricelist for food ,room service etc. There was no price list, food had to be preordered if required. The room was cleaned each day. When the sun came out the upper levels were warm. The location of the Riad was poor ,situated at the far end of the medina in a very run down area filled with many people who tried to beg . The breakfast was poor, with the same /similar bread jam and honey and cold coffee served each day. The internet connection was erratic.

From a network of alleys a door opens on a traditional and very welcoming riad. Interesting architecture, good breakfast. A fifteen minute walk from main square but this was a plus; this part of the medina feels less touristy, more 'authentic'. Taxi cannot drive all the way to door and you will need to ask the way.

We had a great week in Morocco and stayed at this Riad where the lady looked after us and we had no issues. We took the Deluxe Room which was definately a great option as it is very spacious and had a nice exterior seating area. I would recommend this Riad. The riad is hard to find but once you know where it is then you will be ok.

I knew there would be a problem when I arrived and the owner told me breakfast was served from 9 - 11 because she had to get her sleep. She seems more interested in making friends with guests and frowns when they are not willing to sit and chat endlessly with her in French. She didn't provide a map when I asked her even though they are FREE. She was not willing to assist when I requested a taxi. (Don't ask for the airport transfer as she charges double what you can negotiate out of a taxi.) There is little water pressure in the pipes and at one point there was no water in the room. She looked at me like I was crazy when I told her and even asked me in front of other guests if I was going to shower. The wifi signal is weak in the upper rooms. She was always available to say "good-bye" to all the other guests except when I was leaving. She couldn't be bothered to get up even though she knew my time of departure the night before. The rooms are small and difficult to maneuver. There is no TV. Breakfast is the same every day and consists of a bread like a pancake. The location of the riad is way in the northern part of the medina far away from all the action. You're better off booking closer to the main square Jemaa el Fna and the souks.

Had a terrible journey to Marrakech, stuck in traffic to airport and then taxi took us to the wrong Riad and felt us stranded. Do not ever book a taxi through expedia as they were not helpful at all. Once we arrived at the right Riad it was really lovely and the staff were very friendly.

We had a lovely stay at this Riad, it was clean, homely and friendly. It does not have a hotel feel but a lovely genuinely homely feel. The lady who runs it speaks excellent English and will help you with any questions you have. People looking for impersonal, standardised hotels will not enjoy it. However people looking to get a glimpse of Moroccan life, in a personal environment in the hussle and bussle of Marrakech will love this Riad. We felt very looked after throughout our stay. It is about 20 min from the central medina, but 5 min from the souks where you shop for the traditional Moroccan leather, spices and oils. The Riad - like many other are very hard to find, it has a tiny door down an alley with no sign - I do recommend an airport transfer!

The Hotel is an small and cozy real Riad. The lady is fantactic, kind and very easy going. Very dificult to find ( secure booking pick-up service), the area is bit weird and chaotic, but obviously as you are at the real Medina!

Quirky and traditional old building, scrupulously clean with a warm and friendly welcome in a bustling, busy area of northern medina. Basic but stylish and comfortable room which overlooked a charming courtyard where you can drink a mint tea and watch the visiting finches. great value for the money.

Big draw back is it's distance from the main part of the medina which means there's a dearth of places to eat. Lots of tiny food stalls around but no real sit down restaurants. Since the medina is such a labyrinth it would take one three days or more to feel comfortable taking the long walk back from the main square without getting lost.

Most Riads in Marrakesh are in the Medina. The Medina has very few road signs and cars are not permitted on many roads. La Perle is not reachable by cab and it has no sign on the door to even indicate that you're at the right place. To get around nearby, one must memorize the streets. That said, the Riads are an excellent place to stay. One can enjoyably experience the Arab lifestyle.

We enjoyed our stay. We had a large room on the top that was large enough for the three of us. Our hostess was very helpful and gave great advice about places to eat , places to visit, etc. The weather was quite hot and it was wonderful returning to the plunge pool. Strongly recommend that you organise for the driver from the Riad to collect you when you arrive with your luggage as none of the other drivers/ taxis will take you right to the Riad.

First up a sign outside the Riad would be good - there is not even a written or painted message - this does not help in relocating it after going out or to know you are at the right place in the first instance. Otherwise location was good just be aware it is Bab Tharzouk you need to say find it not Ben Slieman as the owner has told me. The riad is in dire need of some general TLC - whilst nothing was completely dreadful - doors in rooms were not aligned and hence very hard to open or close. Window shutters had a similar problem. Outside environ needed some care - small things can make all the difference to the appearance. Like pool should be clean even if not used. Shower leaked and not really great to use. Had to ask for Hot water as apparently they run on solar - when that doesn't work they need to switch it over to electric. There are no toiletries supplied other than a bar of soap - not even a spare toilet roll :( - good thing we came prepared. Breakfast was adequate - but not what I would call full ... no fruit or yoghurt only 1 muffin and 1 Moroccan pancake, no cheese or olives or savoury just strawberry & Apricot jam! We had to ask for fresh 'hot' tea as what was offered was undrinkable - even for Morocco. Bedding was fine and linen ok. Pick-up service was offered and accepted but I felt the charges were somewhat excessive. The driver was really great and thanks to him for that.

The lady that runs the hotel and her employee were so lovely! The Riad is very nice and very traditional , so a great authentic experience. The surrounding neighborhood feels daunting but is actually very safe and filled with many friendly people and is directly in the old medina. It is a much more authentic experience for sure. The walk to the centre is about 15-20mins or $3 in a cab....just make sure you get the owner to book the cab for you or you will pay 10times that.

He riad is a lovely little place in a bad location. For 2 women without arabic language skills, it was impossible to find our way to the riad or from it to other locations like the main square. It required 20 minutes walk through the twisting narrow streets of the medina and we had to pay someone each time to lead us there. At night, this was pretty scary. Taxi drivers couldn't find it either. In addition, the main door was sometimes closed and locked, with no one present, so that we reurned one afternoon at 5:00pm and couldn't get in. We had to call the manager over and over again before she met us at the entrance almost an hour later. Only a good location for a group staying inside the whole time or with an escort who knows the medina like a native. We moved after the 2nd night, even though we had already paid for 3 nights.

No complaints and a reasonable value, but I felt a bit misled by the online description. Has more the feel of a B & B than a riad. While it was comfortable, there was a certain shabbiness to the house.

We arrived in the middle of the night, so getting to the riad was a bit scary, as it's through a few alleyways that aren't very well lit. But the airport transfer driver was most helpful and took us right up to the doorstop. The owner was waiting up for us, and was quite lovely. She showed us the trick to get in and out of the alleyways the riad was located in. The rooms were basic and in need of refurbishment, but unbelievably cool when the windows were left open (highly recommended over using an ac). Hot water was in plentiful supply. Breakfast was extremely basic, but very filling...we never needed to eat again until the evening meal. The area is a bit out of the way from the main attractions, and somehow we managed to get lost and take a different route everyday, so be wary if a sense of direction is not your strong point.

The riad is small and charming, within the medina of Marrakech. It is somewhat of a distance from Djema al Fna, which means a longish walk each day, but I could not be more impressed with the atmosphere of the riad, and the helpfulness of madame and staff. We had a freshly cooked breakfast in the courtyard each day which was delightful. The one negative is that the riad must be located very close to a mosque so in the early morning hours, we were awakened by the call to prayer, as well as by crowing roosters and cats mating. If you stay here, make sure to make arrangements in advance for transportation from train or plane to the riad; we didn't and were at the mercy of a local boy who tried to charge us an obscene amount to push our luggage a couple of blocks in a handcart. There is no sign on the door either, so you would never be able to find it on your own. But, it was filled with local atmosphere, it was completely lovely, and the nearby square was a thriving marketplace that was way less tourist oriented than Djema al Fna. We bought olive oil from a huge keg at a vendor here and got half a liter for about $2; I misunderstood and gave him twice the amount and he handed me half my money back.

Very friendly owner - English is her 3rd language but we got by. You feel like you're having a very authentic Marrekech experience staying in this Riad. Room was cleaned every day. Breakfast was great but if you don't eat wheat you need to say before you arrive! Get them to book you a taxi from the airport, or the taxi driver will never find it, it really is tucked away in the Medina. Pool is tiny, ok for dipping tired feet in but not for swimming in.

Stayed 3 nights. Our room was comfortable and large - I think the largest in this small riad. We travelled with another couple who had quite a small room. The lady owner was quite helpful though English was not her first or second language. Breakfast is a simple affair (continental style) with freshly baked Moroccan bread. The bathroom is acceptable and clean though one morning there was no hot water. Marrakech itself has few redeeming features (though I guess if this is your first non-European trip it will seem quite different) and has more than its fair share of vagabonds and rogues. La Perle is convenient if your flight schedule puts you through Marrakech. Bear in mind she charged us €40 for a taxi pickup from the airport - when we left from another riad, the charge was €20. The riad is difficult to find if you make your own way there - a taxi can only get so close and then its a five minute walk, ending up in some narrow and dingy walkways. Whatever you do, do NOT accept any local to guide you - they will charge like a wounded bull. So maybe its worth paying the €40 because the driver will take you to the riad (for no additional charge! Fee paid to the riad).

Souhaila made us feel very at home for the duration of our stay in this lovely riad. Tricky to find (as everything is in the Medina) but don't worry as someone will pop up instantly to help you find it (for a small fee. Don't give them more than 10 dhiram) Very comfortable and clean. Not situated in the prettiest of neighbourhoods but very safe to wonder around and only 10 minutes walk from the souks. Take earplugs to drown out the call for morning prayer at 5am at the local mosque which sets off all the cockerels in the area.

I really loved it here. It is a little difficult to find but most things are in Marrakech. The riad owner was always happy to help and arrange trips or taxis to and from the airport. I can't deny that the smallest room which we happened to stay in was very small but, perfectly formed. It had a double bed, a decent sized wardrobe and a separate bathroom. We didn't need for anything else. We did take a peak in all the other rooms and they were of varying sizes - the largest room there was really beautiful and a fantastic size. The rooms were also kept very clean. If I was to go back to Marrakech I would be more than happy to go back here.

Between Xmas and New Year we stayed in Ryad La Perle de Marrakech. The ryad is very well located in the medina and close to a taxi stop. From the ryad, most places in Marrakech can be visited on foot. Service in the ryad is excellent: the owner speaks several languages (Arab, English, French and Spanish), and you can ask her any question. Guests are every morning provided with breakfast and because we had to leave early on New Year to catch our 8 AM flight, the owner got up at 5 AM to make us breakfast and to make sure that the taxi that she had arranged to take us to the airport did indeed show up. Excellent service!

this is a very pretty and hospitable hotel in marrakesh. it is difficult to find (in an alley) but the owner is wonderful and will take good care of you. she got up at 4 AM to make me breakfast before i went off to the airport. she also called a cab for me to pick me up literally at the door. the owner is an french-algerian woman. she is a great hostess and makes wonderful conversation (in French). had many long talks with her about everything (we know the French love these types of talks). she told me i was the first american to stay there. the rooms are beautiful with a nice adobe-wall shower, real sinks and ornate interiors. really more like a home instead of a hotel. definitely worth your money!
