This is the CUTEST hotel!!! Walking into our rooms in this hotel made us feel like we had been transported to Agrabah!! The rooms were clean and the bathrooms had a rain shower ! The mattresses were not the springiest but honestly after exploring chefchaouen all day, you will pass out anyway! The AC worked great! The breakfast in the morning was very yummy! I would recommend this stay!

Lovely quiet hotel in easy walking distance to the main square for restaurants and cafes and a great base to all we wanted to see and do in Chefchaouen. Spacious, nicely decorated and clean rooms and we enjoyed the views from the terrace. Friendly, helpful staff carry your bags to and from transport drop-off as there are stairs to navigate walking to this hotel and also inside (no lifts). There were no tea/coffee making facilities in our room nor a safe.

Staff were very nice and welcoming, room was as in photos, very comfortable and loved the decor. Did not have any view from my room but the rooftop is cool with view on the city, good for chilling or spending time with your friends. It’s in the heart of the Medina, everything is close. Breakfast was great. Thank you!

Excelente estadia no Riad.

When we arrived the front desk staff were neither welcoming nor informative. The bed mattresses were very hard and each person got only one pillow. In the bathroom, the water was only luke warm, there was no shampoo, conditioner or lotion (only one kind of soap in a pump dispenser). My husband got an electric shock when his head happened to touch the light cover to the left of the sink. Breakfast buffet was quite sufficient.

The property is in the perfect location. Hidden within the narrow streets of Chefchaouen. The interior of the rooms is very traditional Moroccan with carved wooden ceilings and decorative furnishings. It is clean and comfortable. The rooftop terrace is a great place to relax and enjoy the views of the city after a day walking around the medina.

It is centrally located and the staff was helpful.
Cons: The shower was not built correctly, so there was nothing preventing the water from flooding out, filling the bathroom and the room itself. The drain was also slow, so it made it even worse. It was also a little difficult finding the hotel because it is sort of hidden down a side street.

Extremely well located hotel to enable easy access to everything you need. A quick walk to the main square where you can easily visit some great restaurants and shops. Breakfast at the hotel was delicious with plenty of options to suit most tastes. Staff were very friendly and super welcoming and willing to assist when asked. Our room was spacious and clean and beds were comfortable. Noise does travel around a bit so you might want to bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Roof top terrace also available.

Absolutely gorgeous property in a great area! Getting there can be tricky, but try to have your taxi driver drop you off near Pizzeria Mandala and you won’t have to hike up the stairs with your luggage. Don’t forget to try the fresh squeezed orange juice right across from the hotel!

The hotel is absolutely beautiful and in a fabulous location within beautiful Chefchaouen. The building itself is so special and the rooftop terrace has beautiful views. The rooms and entire hotel has such intricate detail and is just amazing and a joy to look at. The room was spacious and has a double bed and 2 singles plus an area to sit. The staff are so kind and patient and were happy to chat to us and help us with our many questions. They went above and beyond. Thankfully they were happy to take our luggage to our room as the stairs were tricky for us. Cannot fault their kindness. Breakfast not great.

I recently stayed at Hotel Dar Mounir and it was a delightful experience! From the moment I checked in, the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. The room was spotless and beautifully maintained, with a comfortable bed and a great rooftop view. The cleanliness of the entire hotel was impressive. It's rare to find a place that pays such attention to detail. The atmosphere was relaxing, making it a perfect getaway spot. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a stress-free and enjoyable stay!

This is such a welcoming and cozy space in the middle of the Chefchaouen medina. It is so beautiful, in the Moroccan style, and with such attention to details. The breakfast was good. The rooms are small but functional. Staff was very attentive and helpful. It has a beautiful roof deck, which I imagine would be nice to hang out at except it was raining almost the entire time I was there. All in all I recommend!
Cons: The room could use a chair and more wall hooks / hangers for clothes.

We stayed here as part of an Intrepid tour group. Located in the Medina, we walked in from the main road, with our suitcases brought to the hotel by private courier. Otherwise, you’d have to drag your suitcase through the Mattie, hilly Medina streets. Our room was small: room for a very firm queen bed, a bureau and 2 straight backed chairs. Others in our group had much larger rooms. Our small windows faced outside, which meant street noise at night and in the early morning (roosters crowing and call to prayer) but this was fairly minor. Others in our group had windows opening into internal hallways. Cute Moroccan decor. Shower took a long time to warm up. Minor adjustments were needed as it came up to temperature to avoid a scalding. Water pressure was low and varied by water temperature. Good breakfast options: plain omelettes, goat cheese, olives, tomatoes, cucumber (both peeled), Moroccan bread.

The hosts were kind, the location is super! Not too far up the mountain. But be prepared to climb up with your suitcase. Or you could pay 200 dirham to one of the local men to carry the luggage for you. The hotel itself was okay, the room was a bit small but had everything we needed. Bed was okay aswell. Breakfast wasn't that great but it was enough for us.
Cons: The toilet wasn't properly attached tot the floor and made a loud banging noise when you sat down.

Be warned- this place is not what the reviews on Expedia make it out to be. Location was excellent- near the main square, but tucked away. Otherwise, overpriced. Our room smelled constantly (mostly coming from bathroom)- I looked at one other room option and that one had a similar smell. Housekeeping was "offered" daily but not actually provided- for us, they said they didn’t have a duplicate of our key so couldn’t clean it. They told us this at noon and didn’t offer a later cleaning. Its not our fault we have the only key to the room! Breakfast was good but pretty standard for the area. Fresh squeezed OJ a plus. I’ve been to Chefchaouen before. I stayed at a cheaper hostel and enjoyed their room and breakfast much more. No trashcan in the room. No water, no tea. Mattresses uncomfortable and very firm. Safe reportedly available at front desk but not in individual rooms. Note that at the front desk, the main door is always wide open and the staff steps away from time to time, so it isn’t always watched. The area is pretty safe, but still made me uneasy.

It was a good location and convenient to walk around and explore the beautiful blue alleys...

Stayed here for 1 night as I was visiting the town. The decor is the charm factor. It is breathtaking and will have your senses heightened looking from 1 inch of the wall to another. This is carried through to your room. I stayed in a twin room and it included a lounge. The bathroom had all the needed amenities. There is no wardrobe in the room just a rack to hang jackets or coats. The is and AC in the for heating and cooling. The breakfast is a little underwhelming, however i did enjoy the biscuits they served. The terrace will give you a 360 degree view of the city and it is worthwhile taking a mint tea up there.

The hotel is easy to find and is in a great location for walking to all of the attractions. The Medina is small and easy to navigate and very safe. Rooms were absolutely tiny with bathroom that had a miniature shower/toilet in the bathroom. Barely any space to even shower. Was shocked to see that there was a window in the bathroom that opened out onto the common area...yet wouldn't lock. Breakfast was ok....but had to wait for a while until ready. Made me feel that you have to adhere to the rules of the hotel rather than the hotel catering to the needs of the guests.

Centrally located Riad in Chef, with simple but nice rooms. Would stay here again if we visit Chef again! The rooms are simply decorated and most of the common areas and terrace go unused, but we enjoyed having a home base to go back to. During the day I think they have a single person working the front desk, but honestly Chef isn't the city you want nor need impeccable service. Save those expectations and desires for Marrakech, Fes, and Tangier!

I have never seen a check-in like this. Throughout our entire travels through Morocco we were always welcomed warmly at every Riad or Hotel. This was the complete opposite where I felt I was a burden to the reception staff. They didn't explain anything about the hotel, they didn't offer any assistance, and they frankly didn't seem to care that we had arrived. Also, the breakfast is at a restaurant around the corner and not in this hotel, so don't expect to be warm or have wifi at breakfast.

I work for Disney and when i saw the door of my room i was hoping to see Aladdin and Jasmine inside! The hotel inside is so cute the decor and the shapes it takes you to all those Arabian stories that we see in TV. I really love it. The staff was super nice and helpful. They spoke Spanish , French, English and Arabic obviously so they definitely will have someone able to help in ur language. The area is perfect cuz they are located at the top of the plaza so is lots of places to eat around. The terrace was really nice (they were expanding it but u can go and sit there). Overall everything was great :)

beautiful blue riad along a gorgeous blue alley in Chefchaouen. A little difficult to find and I still can't explain to you- we had to ask for directions. Easy checkin with the hostess. Took stairs to get to our room on the 3rd floor. large room for 3 ppl with a sitting area and tv. Bathroom was clean but we had some leaking and the floor was wet during our stay. Shower was nice but cold (bc it was 30 degrees when we were visiting)- the room itself has a heater though (just not in the bathroom). Breakfast was great bc it was served in the riad's associated restaurant Dar Mounir. The included breakfast is fried egg, coffee/tea/OJ, pastries, but if you pay the difference you can get an omelet instead. Very cute restaurant right in the square and next to the kasbah.

this Hotel was in great location. the staff were great, very friendly and eager to help. our overall stay at the hotel was ok except that we didn't have AC in the room. the unit was broken and only blowing hot air in the middle of a 100 degree weather. The staff members tried fixing it by themselves and they couldn't, they called a repair person who after getting a new part from another city and installing it the unit still didn't cool the room. I think, for a hotel that its main objective is its clients comfort they should verify these things and make sure all in order before the client checks in. I spent my two day stay there worrying about the AC instead of enjoying my vacation.

Lovely town and cute Riad. Location is right near the square. Staff are kind and helpful. I was in a small room on the first floor it was quite noisy. You can hear everything going on at the front desk and outside.

Fantastic location. Friendly staff. Lovely and quaint. We were very happy here. A very good value for the rate. The town and people of Chefchaouen are lovely and this hotel did not disappoint.

Fun Place. Very Authentic venue right in the heart of the Kasbah. One tip: dont let the random people help you find your hotel unless you are willing to pay them.

Hotel Dar Mounir is definitely a unique property - it's a bit like staying in a big castle, except the rooms are much more stylish and comfortable than you might expect from your first impression when you drive up. It's a bit deceiving, because there's only a small wooden sign on a stake and you have to drive down a steep, unfinished gravel driveway that crosses a small ravine, so I wasn't even sure I was at the right place. But the hosts were very friendly and attentive. It's a bit of a drive back to the nearest village, so I had dinner at the hotel, very nicely prepared and they even have beer and wine available. Breakfast was generous and freshly prepared. A very nice experience overall.

I was warmly greeted upon arrival - the room was just as described - perhaps better. They have a nice rooftop lounge where they will serve you breakfast - temperature permitting. I would recommend this hotel - especially for location.

Dar Mounir was a great place to stay in Chefchaouen! The location was near the medina center with lots of shopping and restaurants all around. The breakfast and rooftop terrace were also pluses to have. We'd definitely recommend a stay here.

We loved everything about Dar Mounir...the location, the accommodations, the staff. ..everything was wonderful! We'll definately return to Chefchouen some day and, when we do, we will stay at Dar Mounir.

Beautiful place to stay, perfect location, close to the main square but tucked away so very relaxed atmosphere. The food was delicious and staff really helpful and friendly. This was one of our favourite places we found in all of Morocco. Will definately come and stay again!

This hotel was IMPOSSIBLE to find without a local guiding is. Once we found it though it's right near the main square and in a great location. All you need to do in this town is walk about and get lost. It's gorgeous and genuinely unique. Lovely rooftop where you can take your free breakfast.

Hotel Dar Mounir is an a great location near the main square in Chefchaouen and has a classic Moroccan interior. Dar Mounir's staff were extremely helpful and eager to make my stay an enjoyable one. The highlight of the hotel is the full panoramic terrace offering stunning views of the city and surrounding mountains. I highly recommend taking your daily breakfast on the terrace.

I stayed in Dar Mounir with a group of friends in April 2015. We were so glad we chose this hotel. It's just around the corner from the main square in a very pleasant part of the medina--well inside but not too far up the hill. The staff are all excellent and fluent in a number of languages. I will definitely be staying here again when I visit beautiful Chefchaouen.

wonderful place. Staff is really helpful - helped us with Laundry, parking, etc. Located in the center of the medina. Rooms were just fine, clean and comfortable. A double bed did equate to 2 single beds, a little uncomfortable to fall in the middle but nothing too bad at all. Would gladly stay again and recommend to friends.

Great little hotel in the medina. Once you know where it is, it's very easy to find and in a very convenient location. The guys at the front desk were every helpful. One of them even walked me to the restaurant I was looking for! The room was clean, albeit a little dark at night. The bed was comfortable and great water pressure in the shower. The breakfast was good and simple. The view from the terrace was fantastic. I do recommend it!

Arrived early on the 10:30 bus from Tangier. Hotel staff great about an early check in and choice of rooms. View from the rooftop terrace amazing and great for a relaxing drink watching the sunset over the Riff Mountains. Local knowledge good and able to leave bags on day of check out till 3 pm.

was more basic then I expected. most rooms had interior-facing windows that allowed every sound in the hotel to come into the room. the accommodation was very small. the light fixtures were handsome but did not emit much light. not easy to find without help- ask at the Dar Mounir restaurant across from the mosque.

Everyting about the Riad was perfect. They have us great information about what to see and where to eat. They organised a walking trip to the falls and came its us and also organised the grand taxi to take us to Fes. Fantastic host.

The hotel is beautifully decorated, all the staff spoke fairly good English, the breakfast was nice with honey, marmelade, cheese, good bread and freshly squeezed orange juice. Joseph at reception was particularly helpful and knowledgeable about local area. All in all - we were very happy there :)

The staff are wonderful and relaxed. We didn't know if we wanted to stay an extra night or not and ended up checking out at 4PM, after they'd already cleaned the room and they were completely friendly and terrific. The rooms were charming and comfortable. The bathrooms are new and stylish and classy. The rooftop terrace and breakfast were the icing on the cake. I'm a huge fan. Oh - and the location is great too -- 100 feet from the main square, but quiet and peaceful.
