This was a totally last minute plan to Marrakech which started with random call to Le Farnatchi, and the most welcoming response from Saeeda who helped me plan my itinerary! Everything about this place was perfect, from the welcome, to the food, and the rooms, and of course the location! They have airport pickup so no need to worry about getting lost, and they also send someone from the hotel to pick you from the point where the car drops you off. They also arranged a guide for me and gave me advice on what places I could see in the little time I had in the city. Would definitely recommend Le Farnatchi!

Le Farnatchi was a refined and elegant escape from the Medina. Our arrival was marked by mint tea and cookies and quickly followed by cocktails delivered to the room. Our suite—number 8?—was huge and well appointed. We dined at Le Trou au Mur once and had food delivered from there for two other delightful meals, including one where they kindly set up lunch under the orange trees in the magical back courtyard. Kudos especially to the kind lady night manager who enthusiastically looked after us. My wife said her massage was top shelf. It is easy to see why Daniel Craig, Angelina Jolie and others selected Le Farnatchi for their stays.

Delicious home made breakfast. Could be taken anywhere within the hotel, either in your room, on a balcony, downstairs in one of the courtyards or in our case we took it up on the fabulous roof top terrace overlooking the Medina and Atlas Mountains.

What an absolute find. Just a truly magical place to stay. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Can book restaurants, cabs, etc. Our Suite No. 8 was superb. Absolutely stunning. Beautiful extras added on such as traditional slippers and hats, welcome mint tea, canapes every night and sweet treats at turn down time. Delicious breakfast on our balcony was looked forward to every morning. Perfectly situated in the Medina. Gorgeous rooftop too. Sister restaurant was a great choice for our first night after a day of travel. Highly recommend. Couldn’t fault Le Farnatchi.

Absolutely magical! Le Farnatchi is hands down one of the most beautiful and memorable places I’ve ever stayed. Tucked down a peaceful street in the heart of Marrakech, its location is perfect, serene and quiet, yet just moments from the hustle and bustle of the medina. The Riad itself is a masterpiece. Every corner feels like a curated art museum, with elegant design, spacious rooms, and plenty of privacy. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and the whole space has a calming, luxurious atmosphere. What really sets Le Farnatchi apart is the service. The staff are exceptional, genuinely warm, attentive and thoughtful. The door men will walk you to a spot you have asked about to make sure you don't get lost. A special thank you to Sayeda, who worked so hard to get us into the restaurants we were keen on. You’re made to feel like royalty from the moment you arrive. The food here is also outstanding. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had, delicious, beautifully presented, and full of local recipes and produce. I would also recommend using the spa and their own restaurant which has a peaceful rooftop option. If you’re coming to Marrakech and want somewhere truly special, stay at Le Farnatchi. You can undoubtably find a cheaper Riad in Marrakech, but if this falls in your budget then you are guaranteed a truly unforgettable and relaxing holiday. I hope to return.

Cons: Literally nothing. I felt that I was constantly going around saying how perfect it was. I can't imagine think of a single thing I didn't like about this Riad.

When we arrived and were guided through the bustling alleyways through a heavy wooden door, it felt like walking into another world of peaceful tranquility with an incredible feeling of warmth and welcoming faces. The weight of the stressful journey was truly over, The attention to detail within these walls is quite mind blowing, my daughter and i were in awe of the beautiful architecture and authentic carvings and decor. we stayed in suite 1, which was truly incredible and i slept better than ive slept in years. All the staff are warm and friendly, there immediately when you need them, but never intrusive. As for the Spa, we had a few treatments which were amazing too, particularly the Hamman for2. I loved every minute of our trip and will be returning as soon as we can. Thank you 🙏

I was completely blown away by Le Farnatchi! I booked a last minute trip and came in early, arriving at 1030a or so. Had no expectation of being able to access my room (and offered to pay if it made a difference) but they were able to get me in right away, with a lovely mint tea service welcome. The room was PHENOMENAL - like, took my breath away - a massive living room, bedroom and gorgeous bathroom upstairs, and a private rooftop patio. Floored. Absolutely floored. I felt completely safe at all times, in and outside the riad, but staff always offered to walk me to dinner or other locations to make sure that I didn't get lost. Super kind. I can't say enough good things about the staff who took care of everything I asked, including transport to and from the airport. Beyond these taxi trips, I spent my days walking because everything was easily walkable - museums, palaces, the square, many many souks, and all the many restaurants I visited. It felt like the perfect location because everything was so close by but it's just a couple turns away from the noise so the rooms and the courtyard are silent. Really just a perfect place. Will always come back here.

I can't recommend Riad Farnatchi highly enough. It is a truly beautiful Riad, with every detail thought of. Its location is perfect, right on the edge of the Medina but the moment you step inside you're transported away from the hustle and bustle to a place of pure calm. We had the enormous pleasure of staying in this beautiful Riad for a few days to celebrate a friend’s 40th. Our experience from start to finish was magical. Our bedroom was beautiful and stylish along with the layout of the bathroom. The Moroccan food, wine and endless cocktails were delicious and the massages were great. We also had a traditional Moroccan band in the evening to add to this exceptional experience. On top of this we had the pleasure of being looked after by James and his team who were all wonderful and they all went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing time. For anyone visiting Marrakesh, I would strongly recommend staying at Le Farnatchi. A truly fantastic experience!

We stayed here 18 years ago and loved it! That’s why when we returned to Marrakesh (it took for to long) we did not hesitate to book La Farnatchi. It did not disappointed! The place is stunning and as soon as you walk through the amazing front door, you feel at home. The team are truly the icing on the cake tho! They can not do enough for you. It feels like NO is not in their language! Many members of the team have been at Farnatchi since day 1 and it really shows. James, the owner is most charming and did me a huge favour because he heard that I was stuggling to secure 80 bottle of champagne l needed for the for my birthday party that I was throwing for 30 people in rental place near by. Safe to say my celebration would not have been as much fun without those 80 bottles! Thank you so much James and the whole team!

This is a special place. Hidden behind a huge wooden door in the heart of the Medina is this little gem of a hotel. With a beautiful courtyard private spaces with wood fires burning in the spring this was a perfect home to discover the city from. The roof terrace looks out toward the mountains and at the call to prayer at dawn it is a magical place to take in Marrakech. The staff are charming and extremely welcoming.

The calmness and quietness of this place, just a lovely little escape from the craziness just outside its walls. Brilliant staff especially Saida, who checked us in, and never say no to any requests, always happy to help with everything, from changing sleepers sizes, to booking our treatment at the spa.

Cons: We had a lovely suite, almost faultless, however, we think, maintenance is an issue as we’ve noticed few things that have not been fixed or replaced perhaps, i.e. taps covered in limescales. For a massive room, we wish there was a kettle/teabags available in the room. We love a cuppa before bed and didn’t want to hassle staff to bring us tea late at night. There’s also no fridge in the room, would be nice to have a cold drink especially on a hot day.

Le Farnatch is amazing. I have stayed here many times, the staff are exceptional, the rooms are amazing and public spaces. Breakfast is the best in morrocco by far. Service 2nd to none. Been coming to le Farnatchi for 17 years it never fails to amaze me everytine. There really is nowhere else i would stay in marrakech. The new restuaraunt is outstanding. Food quality and service are exceptional. Not that id expect anything else. I was pleased to see some of the staff who have been there since my first trip. 17 years ago. Saida is an angel and so attentive. Her main aim is to make sure, your stay is the best it possibly can be. Morad and Walid, were amazing also. Every staff member, really do go above and beyond. So genuinely helpfull in every way. We are already looking at returning as soon as possible.

A very special riad. The hospitality is luxe. Their mint tea and pastries served complimentary is the best quality. Right in the midst of the best galleries and shopping in the Medina so everything is walkable in the shade. It's also in a safe area we felt. A lot of locals who all knew each other. A truly authentic experience that was not touristy in the packaged sense. The owner is an English gentleman in the truest sense who has lived in Marrakech for more than a decade. So there is also a western sensibility to the paired back restrained elegance which we loved. Everyone there were really attentive to us as a family enjoying our first experience of Marrakech. I found their local knowledge very helpful. Also they are expanding into another building opposite with a rooftop pool. All I can say is discover this gem before it gets too expensive. We left after 1 night and wish we could have stayed more. As a contrast, we transferred to another pre booked Riad La Maison Arabe and we found the riad although lovely to look at, was not as authentic or luxe nor the hospitality as genuine.

The hotel itself is beautiful and clean with great staff. I wish if the hotel was in a different location. It is in old madina, in a part where you have to walk by an unsafe area (especially at night) before reaching the hotel. Google maps showed us that we will arrive by car to the hotel front door, but obviously Google maps is not updates and we had to use Waze. There is a weird tight garage that was suspicious and those who work there have an attitude. They were very rude. We went to check the hotel and left our luggage at car, but decided not to stay. It was unsafe to walk with so many luggages even with the help of the hotel. We didn’t feel safe, so we had to leave and book another hotel for the same amount of nights at this hotel. We came back during the day to stay at this hotel but with a carry on bags for 1-2 nights. The staff did their best to convince us that it’s safe but I couldn’t ignore my gut.

We loved everything about our stay at Le Farnatchi. The service was impeccable, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the ambiance was perfect. Our suite was beautifully designed and comfortable. It was the perfect private getaway in the middle of the busy Medina. It was clean, comfortable, and full of sweet little surprises every day - including afternoon canapés and sweet biscuits delivered with the turn down service. The rooftop terrace had numerous nooks and crannies to sit and enjoy coffee service, a pot of mint tea, or a bottle of wine as the sun goes down. There are several excellent restaurants within a 2-minute walk as well as an attached restaurant that delivers right to your room for lunch and dinner. The food at the associated restaurant was very good, albeit slightly uninspired. Nevertheless, we enjoyed several of the entrees when wanting a relaxing dinner in the room. After a long day of getting lost in the souks, walking into our air conditioned suite was a delight, and the shower -with its array of shower gels- was heaven! We loved everything!

Cons: I have no complaints at all with the hotel. It was exceptional in every way.

The location is excellent and you can walk to everything you want to see quickly. (Unless you get lost, which we did - often.) Simple but lovely breakfast. The fruit and yogurt were of superb quality. Staff were without exception the loveliest, most helpful and anticipatory of any place we have stayed. Ever. I feel as though this is how top hotels were in the 1950s, except the staff were probably a bit stuffier then. The suites (we tried two) were beautifully furnished, with excellent taste and stunning lighting. The bedside boxes for plugging in our many devices were a godsend and I don't know why every hotel doesn't have them. My pet hate with most hotels is the insuffiency of mirrors, the steaminess of bathrooms and the hopelesness of hairdryers. None of these were an issue here, so full marks. The hotel took care of everything: cabs (including making sure we could return by the same cab), airport transfers, other calls on our behalf. When we were being hassled by a chancer who wanted enhanced payment for street directions, but we had actually wanted to stop at the shop around the corner, we were escorted by a staff member who waited at a discreet distance and made sure we got back without further issues.

Cons: When we booked the descriptions for all superior suites included either a balcony or a terrace. I did mention later in our communications that outdoor space was important. When we arrived we were given a suite which was huge but had no windows, let alone outside space. I am woken frequently on holidays and need to be able to sit outside when this happens (I have been known to sleep on the deck of cruise ships) so I was extremely disappointed but didn't make an fuss as I knew they were full. We went out for a walk and by the time we returned they told us that we would be moved to another room the following day. So, while I didn't like that the description wasn't followed up in room allocation, the resolution was impeccable. The only other thing was the lack of in-room beverage facility. I understand why this is and you can ask for drinks to be delivered at no extra charge, but as a compulsive tea and coffee drinker, I don't really want to have room service wake my husband up at 1am because I fancy a cup of tea. I knew this was an issue and took a travel kettle but it would have been nice not to have had to.

Cons: Very little though it would have been nice to have some parasols for shade on the roof terrace so you could read up there.

Our stay in this riad was sensational. The staff was very special: friendly, accommodating, always there when you needed something. You felt pampered and understood. The room was large and friendly, there was nothing to complain about, we were completely satisfied. The Moroccan breakfast was very tasty, you can choose whether to have it on the roof terrace or in the courtyard between beautiful orange trees, or in the breakfast room. The pool in the first courtyard was beautiful with the rest of the decoration, it was just a Moroccan dream. The location was perfect, in the middle of the old town, but still quiet and harmonious. Wonderful stay at Le Farnatchi. All the staff were friendly and accommodating, the room was beautiful and impeccably maintained. So many places to rest and relax within the riad, complimentary mint tea and coffee on request, and breakfast served to the room was an extra luxury. Located a 5 min walk from Place Moukef, staff would come to meet us there if called in advance. Nearby is the Ben Yousef Medersa, several good restaurants including their own, and the north end of the souk. Hammam and spa treatment was thoroughly relaxing. Already planning a return visit.

Luxury Riad in the heart of the Medina in Marrakech. Centrally located, albeit away from the real tourist areas, once we had got used to the hustle of Marrakech itself, it’s easy to find and navigate your way around. The property itself is tranquil and refined. The rooms are all unique and are all of the highest quality and offer plenty of space to sit and enjoy the experience. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, James Wix who couldn’t have been more hospitable. The staff are great and nothing is too much trouble. Thoroughly recommended.

Cons: As soon as I went into the hotel, it was so dusty , smell earthy and moldy, saw some flies here & there, I was led into the Junior suite after many steps (which I booked ) I couldn't breathe and started caughing non stop, no windows or air inside the room. I raised the problems straight away and told them I couldn't stay at this hotel and wanted to leave straight away, Later, they changed me another one at ground floor, with good design but same problems of smelling dusty, moldy and made me caughing non stop. So they tried to move all the dirty rugs and cleaned the floor ,I told them I would not stay in this hotel as no window, no air but smelling all moldy& dusty , the hotel tried to open the roof's small window to let the air in. I told them I would try to stay for one night but not the 2nd night, after they mocked Floor . When I returned the room, the aforementioned smell is still there, on the night , suddenly found fly was on the bed and spider was crawling on the bed, the air still not been improved which made me & my friend were caughing a lot, couldn't sleep at all, the next day I have to book Sofitel hotel and costed me extra 6,197.81 MAD for one night. I also wrote a letter to you on 6April asking for the refund of the costs of 6th April . However, no reply so far. I m your loyal customer, hope you look into my complain and action without further delay !

Exceptionally friendly staff. Helpful from when we got out of our taxi and helped navigate us to the riad at 10pm at night. Hospitable and made sure we had eaten when we arrived. Ordered from the riads restaurant which was very delicious. Arranging cars and trips was seamless.

Location, staff, atmosphere

Cons: Nothing I didn’t like. Even better if small fridges in rooms and a kettle for tea making facilities. Maybe also a little more shade on the excellent roof terrace.

Pure class! What a beautiful place this is. From the moment we arrived, we were treated impeccably. Every single member of staff, from Walid and Morad in management, along with Saeeda, go the extra mile. Aradwan, Moffad and Karima in staff, are the most welcoming and gentle beings. The breakfast is beautifully prepared and presented, wherever you wish to take it. Our favourite spot is on the Riad's rooftop after coffee with the sunrise. The spa is exceptional, with a couples Hamam and massages extraordinaire. Quiet, authentic, with the very highest, yet not overbearing, standards. Thoroughly recommended by me. The Riad has a restaurant 3 steps from the door, with a great selection for lunch and supper. 10/10, La Farnatchi, thank you. MN

An amazing oasis in a busy Medina. The hammam in the spa is one of the finest my family has had. No request was to bi and you are treated as a treasured friend. Morad, Saida, and Walid are so helpful and the rooms are comfortable and well decorated. My daughters and I enjoyed a wonderful week there and highly recommend for the discerning traveler.

Le Farnatchi was the best hotel experience I ever had it it wasn't even close -- The staff was so attentive and gracious to my group and the hotel itself was expertly designed. The breakfast on the roof in the morning with their homemade yogurt and roti was exceptional. The staff walked us to locations in the medina, airport transfers, helped us with excursions and so much more. A+ service and overall experience!

Cons: I couldn't even think of anything, it was a fantastic experience throughout my entire stay. The only regret I have was not booking more excursions through the hotel.

Authentic Moroccan riad which had been beautifully decorated, very large suite with every facility. The breakfast was served at anytime to suit you and was very well presented, eggs cooked to order. The highlight though were the staff who were so incredibly helpful and kind, nothing was too much trouble for them, an absolute delight, I can’t thank them enough for making our stay in Marrakech memorable.

Cons: Nothing.

This Riad beats any hotel stay. You have Saida who is a most gracious host, we felt like family. The room was exquisite, attention to every detail during the stay and turn down service. A must for anyone wanting a relaxing stay. Have a Hamam with Fatia and a massage Yazmine you will not regret it.

I was in Marrakech recently for a long weekend with friends, and whilst we didn't stay at Le Farnatchi, we did eat in the rooftop restaurant and make good use of the spa, both of which were excellent! Some of my friends had a Hammam which they raved about, but I opted for a massage instead, which was nothing short of magical! Ahmed has magic hands & I can't recommend his massages more highly. The restaurant at Le Farnatchi was wonderful, the food was absolutely delicious, the staff were delightful and the ambiance was on the rooftop of the medina was fabulous. All in all we loved our experiences at Le Farnatchi and would definitely book to stay in the Riad next time we're in town.

We had a phenomenal stay at Le Farnatchi. The property is beyond gorgeous, location is perfect, and the complimentary breakfast and canapes were stellar. The real stand out, however, is the staff. Everyone went above and beyond for you - from helping to book cars, dinner reservations, and even escorting us to our cabs so we would feel safe at night/not get lost. We had an INCREDIBLE time during our stay and I truly cannot recommend this property enough The spa is also wonderful. HIGHLY recommend!

Le Farnatchi is a beautiful property in the Medina with a great restaurant, and spa! The thousand year old building oozes old world charm with it’s beautiful, well appointed courtyard full of Islamic geometric patterns, vivid colors, and beautiful objects. We stayed in room 10 that was a generous size with our own private rooftop terrace. Staff were amazing! Saida insisted that I be baked my own cake for my birthday. I can’t say enough about how attentive everyone was!

Beautiful and peaceful riad. Our room was lovely and clean, with loads of space and a rooftop terrace where we could enjoy breakfast outside. But what really made our stay was the kindness and friendliness of the staff. Nothing was too much trouble and they helped us with everything from booking tours to restaurant recommendations to private transfers to even helping us navigate the medina! Walid, Morad and all the staff were just exceptional. We also had a brilliant hammam at the spa, Fatima was so welcoming and we absolutely loved the experience. We hope to visit again in the future

Cons: Nothing, it was brilliant

The breakfast and service was absolutely ideal, with fresh fruits, yoghurt and eggs, served by excellent staff. The rooms were great, and the room service was prompt, and on demand. The spa was very good, and the adjacent restaurant was of high quality. Overall, a good location in the Medina, just outside the main hustle and bustle of other Riads. Managers and senior team were on hand to sort out any trips or any advice that were needed, at all times of the day.

Cons: The plunge pool is situated in the hotel reception, which can be quite busy; as such, we didn't use it.

I have never encountered such a money hungry, greedy hotel in my life. I was supposed to travel for my 1 year anniversary in March and had booked a 3 night stay. My husband ended up getting badly injured requiring surgery. I asked the hotel if I could get a refund and they refused because I booked a nonrefundable rate but I explained to them I didn’t plan on my husband getting injured and now his surgery is costing me 4k out of pocket and the amount spent on the hotel three nights will help me pay for this surgery but they did not express any sympathy let alone offer any kind of refund. i asked can I get the total amount less a certain percentage if they want to charge a cancellation fee but at least return some of my money. They refused. I then asked if I could get a credit and change my dates to June so that I don’t lose my money. Because of them I am still having trouble finding the money to pay for my husbands surgery and can’t travel to Morocco in June when my husband recovers because they kept my money. I sent them so many emails, called them so many times begging them, crying to them to please just give me something but they expressed zero amount of empathy because all they care about is keeping your money. There are businesses that will easily at the very least reschedule you to come back another time. Even Air Morocco and agafay desert hotel when both were nonrefundable, gave me an option of refund or credit. DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE MONEY HUNGRY GREEDY MONSTERS.

The hotel is excellent from the inside, and it is a kindergarten, any old house with a Moroccan character of the old houses and small monsters, but it is beautiful and comfortable, and the butte were excellent in reception and treatment, especially the butter Murad in meeting all our requests and protection from outside the kindergarten in reaching the required places. Know before you go so you can determine if a Riad is the right stay for you. The Riad was located in the Medina, hustle and bustle of the old city which at the time when I booked was unaware what the old city consisted of. Your car or taxi can not take you all the way to the door. You will have to park around 5 minutes walk away and rely on hotel staff to get your luggage and chauffeur you to the door.

There's a reason guests come back to Le Farnatchi year after year. Once you settle in your room and engage with the staff, you can't imagine staying any place else! The owner, James, and his staff go out of their way to take care of requests and oversee the guest experience. The staff are always available and James is on hand, interacting with guests, to ensure that things run smoothly. This effort shows in the quality of the guest experience. Little touches, like the exquisite, glycerin soap that is made especially for the hotel and can be purchased from them, show the effort and thought that goes into creating this outstanding guest experience. An added bonus is their restaurant across the alley, Le Trou Au Mur, which provided us with the best meal we had in Merrakesh (forget the recommendations of Conde Nast Traveler) If this restaurant isn't at the top of your 'best restaurants of Merrakesh' list, throw out your list and EAT HERE! We had a wonderful meal of tagine chicken, their weekly Weds night special. If our travels take us back to Merrakesh, there is no other place we would stay than Le Farnatchi!

The Riad Farnatchi was incredible! We were greeted with mint tea, the facilities were amazing. There are multiple gardens and the terrace at each room is a beautiful peaceful retreat after being in the Medina. The room was incredible, breakfast every morning was delicious and I highly recommend the home cooked dinner. We looked at many Riads to stay at in Marrakech but we are so glad we picked this one. Truly an amazing experience. The staff was the cherry on top, the hospitality was second to none. Loved it!

One of the very best stays in a long travel history. The Riad is gorgeous, the staff is extraordinarily helpful, kind, gracious, fun and extremely generous of time and spirit... anticipating your even need/desire...all around remarkable. There is no request that goes unanswered and done within minutes. (They even repaired a broken purse handle for me.) It felt like home and felt like spending time with a happy family. The Riad's restaurant Trou au Mur (directly in front of the Riad) is wonderful. The food is fantastic, the design stunning and the rooftop dining area is romantic, to say the least. I musn't forget to mention the hamam/spa. One of the best I have ever experienced. It is obvious that the Owner of the Riad takes great pride and care in making the guest's stay an enchanting and memorable one. In sum, I could live there in a heartbeat.

We were immensely impressed with Riad Farnatchi - the accommodation and the staff were brilliant. The suites are spacious, delightful and extremely clean and comfortable. We enjoyed being able to sit outdoors with privacy, on our roof terrace. We used the restaurant twice and the meals were first class. The staff are wonderfully helpful and do their best to make you fell welcome and at home. The location of the Riad is on the northern side of the souks which requires good navigational skills, especially in the evenings when the area can be a little intimidating to those not used to Moroccan ways!
