This little riad is a lovely little place to stay. The room was spacious and clean and very comfortable. We especially liked the beautiful little roof terrace with a view of the city and the river. The staff were very nice and helpful, offering a resteraunt suggestion when we arrived to late for dinner at the riad.

We wanted to experience a traditional Moroccan riad and Rose Noire did not disappoint! The building is absolutely beautiful and our room was exactly what you would imagine when you think of Morocco. The owner and staff are a lovely family and they made our stay special. You can tell when people just genuinely care about making your experience enjoyable; this is exactly how we felt at Rose Noire. The riad is located perfectly next to the Kasbah and is a short walk into town.

Rose Noire is definitely a beautiful find in the old medina. It is hidden away and feels like travelling back in time. The rooms are nostalgically beautiful and resemble a chamber from Game of Thrones. The old sandstone house is tastefully decorated in Berber, african and Jewish ornaments - It feels like a museum. The rooftop is a wonderful place to perch and watch the pelicans nesting whilst enjoying the buffet breakfast. The staff are wonderful and it feels like a family home. Such a nice retreat and only a short stroll from the Old Jewish Synagogue museum, The Taourirt Kasbah and rooftop restaurants. There is parking about 50m away and a porter can be organised to help with the luggage.

The accommodation itself is really beautiful. The Riad and the staff are really lovely as well. The owner is a really wonderful, pleasent and lovely woman.

Cons: Unfortunately we found the breakfast very plain and the bread very bad like it was a few days old. The day after we checked in two families arrived with children and were left to run through the Riad, yelling and screaming and we seem to be the only ones who told them to stop. The parents nor the owners of the property seem to worry that much. Unfortunately there was also problem with our laundry that they cleaned where we lost a few pieces. The owner did kindly wave our city tax fee and the fee of the laundry as an apology.

This family-owned business in a 300 year old establishment was very well run. Hotel was off the beaten path in this small community, and felt very authentic. We felt like part of the family; we were welcomed and well treated. Owner Jmiaa and Talia went out if their way to accommodate our needs. Breakfast was delicious and served on the gorgeous rooftop terrace. Highly recommend. Thank you Rose Noire!

Cons: All great.

Beautiful, traditional, charming, magical Guesthouse. The decor and artefacts give a sense of going back in time. I have stayed in 5 Riads this holiday and this is my favourite by far, to give me that sense of being somewhere exotic and exciting!!! The location is very quiet, down a myriad of passageways. Google maps will take you around the back instead of Guiding you to the passageways, but there is always someone to put you on the right path again!!! Breakfast was a banquet, so much choice served with a smile!! Very easy location to walk everywhere, either through the old streets or via a shortcut up to the main road. A huge bonus were the storks nesting directing by the Guesthouse. As a town itself, we loved the quietness of Ouarzazate. It caters for the tourist but is not overrun, it feels like a normal town going about its day to day business. We wandered off down side streets and felt safe the whole time. Very friendly, helpful people. The cinema museum in town is worth a visit, especially for children to explore. If going to Ben ait Haddau, go early as it gets swarmed with tour groups from midday onwards.

I really loved finding this place. It's a short way into the traditional area through tunnels and alleys. The people who greeted us were very welcoming and calming. The whole place was lovely, the bed was very comfortable and I was especially glad to find a bath in our bathroom. The breakfast was also very good. Most other places we stayed served pastries and dips for breakfast, but here we had a wide selection of other things as well, like fruits, dates and boiled eggs. The breakfast is served in a beautiful communal space on the roof terrace where the sunrise was absolutely stunning to watch with amazing panoramic views. I would absolutely stay here again.

Cons: It says there is free parking nearby, but it's not very clear exactly where this is and it's a little tricky to find the riad after parking too - though for me that was part of the fun! When we left the next day there was a man in a high vis with a dog requesting 20 Dirhams for parking. I have no idea if that request was legitamate. I also wish I'd known we could request dinner in advance.

Beautiful old property, with very nice and helpful staff. Breakfast spread was great, and the views from the terrace are breathtaking, particularly for sunrise. The fact it’s all females employed is just a bonus for Morocco. What a find.

Cons: The shower is pretty low-down on the wall, so for anyone above 160cm, you have to bend down to shower. The lock on the room was a little weak.

Jmiaa’s and her family’s hospitality changed everything! Our first impression was not super good , the surrounding is a bit down and the first room we had is a bit dusty. However, we were welcomed warmly and Jmiaa is so friendly caring and patiently with us with all needs that we addressed, and we were staying a much prettier and cleaner rooms for the rest of our stays! She was so caring when we were run out of time for breakfast and prepared us food on the road and when I was ill in the room a huge indoor breakfast! The breakfast is always huge with lots varieties and freshly prepared, also the terrace towards the oasis has stunning view. The Riad itself is beautifully decorated, and actually if we walk towards the direction not of the car park but the old narrow road of Kasbah is so enjoyable. Overall the hospitality is unbeatable!

Cons: It is a bit far from the centre, 20min walk. The carpark area is a bit down with mud and rubbish. The room on the first floor, our first room would be better if dusts on furnitures and rugs are cleaned. Otherwise to stay here is a nice choice!

Nice place in the old town - located only 10 minutes walk from Kasbah. You can leave a car on their praking lot nearby and walk through the narrow streets/corridors to the hotel entrance. Extremely friendly and helpful Family members - who run hotel. Interiors restored and decorated - you can feel the atmosphere of old times. Our room was clean and well equipped, traditional maroccan breakfest various and tasty served on the rooftop.

This family-run Auberge hidden away in a peaceful alley way is embracing it's authentic style and staff are super friendly and helpfull. We loved the view from the roof terasse, where our tea was served on arrival. I have coeliac disease and requested in advance just a three-egg omelette for breakfast, and was pleasantly surprised and touched to find a small gluten-free bread on the breakfast table. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and even had electric mosquito traps. Jmiaa did recommend a nice restaurant for dinner, and we got helped taking our luggage to the taxi (a few minutes through narrow alley ways before reaching the main road). Thank you Jmiaa and team, you all were so nice to us, Said and I loved every minute of our stay!

Hosts were lovely and friendly, very helpful and chatty. The best part was the terrace, offering an amazing view.

Cons: Children on the street were really loud until late, windows closed didn't keep the noise out. Same goes with neighbours, who started shouting and fighting. I have let the host know I'm gluten intolerant for breakfast, but unfortunately they didn't have any gluten free bread options, although they have responded on the app that they can provide for intolerances. Please check room 201 bed on the left hand side there's a nail halfway screwed in, which I've found with my leg in the night.

Beautiful old style Riad with typical atmosphere and decorations. Loved the terrace peaceful and full of plants with view of landscapes. We were served mint tea on the terrace upon arrival. The Lady and the mum were excepiinally kind and hospitable. The location is in the old town, with typical narrow streets. 10 min walk to get to the square where restaurants are plenty and high rated. We stayed one night and I could not have breakfast as I had to catch a bus to Marrakesh in the morning but the mum got me fresh baked typical bread from a old Lady on the way to the location of petit taxi pick up. I was touched by such a kind gesture I will never forget them. A lovely relaxing quite place with all typical Maroccan decore. Quarzazate is relaxing, enjoyable and safe. We walked the narrow streets in late evening and in the dark you see shadows of cats, and so I took loads of pictures of them. . They seem to guard the old town. Small kids were playing in the streets and have asked us "give me five" and that was also touching. Plus there are some local artigian selling Beautiful hand made textile which I reccomend. Depending on what you are looking for। for us this Riad was a very nice and cosy typical place to feel close to their customs and culture. Thank you We will keep you in our hearts.

Cons: The shower had not a lot of water and not so warm but I could understand that it is an old style Riad and perhaps water pipes cannot pump enough to have water running faster, but it was a very hot day so we did not mind it too much.

It’s a beautiful riad - 300 years old house owned and run by the family. We booked 3 rooms. They were all spacious and airy. They were extremely friendly and welcoming. Breakfast up on the roof was good. Rooftop setting was gorgeous- lots of photo ops.

Very nice and authentic inside, with lots of old decorations everywhere. Felt very authentic. The staff (owners?) were lovely and made breakfast early for us (and others) as we had an early flight home.

Cons: A bit tricky to find, you had to look for the minaret tower that dominates the Kasbah. The hotel isn't marked at the nearest entry point in the Kasbah, but is inside. I've put a photo up with an arrow to show the entrance. Most taxi drivers end up going around the outside and meeting an irate woman who keeps getting taxi drivers knock on her door! You can see the minaret tower from some way away, and you need to pass the base of it. It was also a little noisy outside our room's window at night, but not the hotel's fault.

It was an awesome riad. It was clean, quiet, and friendly, and it had a good breakfast, comfortable beds, and a working toilet and shower. There was nothing not to be happy about. It is in very safe surroundings, so we were not likely to be lost around as we first thought. I would definitely recommend it. Thanks!

Cons: First of all - you need to have a lot of cash (Euros or MADs), you never know when you gotta spend it at riad - taxi both ways from/to the airport, city tax (because WiFi at the receptionist's computer & terminal didn't work, by in our phones did so we needed to go to town centre late evening extremely tired after three days excursions because we were only 10 euros short and not able to pay via card and we were back to our country the next morning...) - hence one star less - not sure about this "lie" about not working WiFi?

Great staff - such a wonderful family made me feel as part of it, like i was at home. Really helpful with tips for my journey and even let me use their phone for a emergency. A traditional Riad in the middle of the Kasbah, will grant you with a truly local experience! The Room was really spacy and confortable, bathroom was clearly remodeled in excellent conditions. Also i took my room's key with me by mistake - i'll never forgive myself, someday i'll come back just to bring it back home!

Cons: Main problema - the location - it's really hard to find the entrance in the middle of the kasbah, it was scary at first, a helpful local led me through the old streets. The room needs a bit more lightning, also there's a lot of dust/sand everywhere. The breakfast was really poor.

The property was nice per se. Room 203 was nice and pretty clean. It was a shame that we got treated like a walking bank to rob, by the guy who was helping the owner with the arrivals. DO NOT BOOK TOURS WITH THEM IN CASE YOU GO AND STAY AT THIS PROPERTY.

Cons: We got sold a tour by this guy who welcomed us at the hotel. The plan was to go to see the desert, leave at 9am and back at 6pm… tour should include few stops along the way to see places, walk in the villages we were supposed to pass by and then end the tour in the desert, all for 120€ for 2 ppl. What we had was: sitting in a taxi with a taxi driver (a 60/70yo man) who did not speak any EN (we speak EN SP and IT) I also speak little French but this guy was simply NOT a guide. He stopped only to show us 2 mountains in the middle of the road and another stop at one panoramic place but we have no idea where we were as he did not explain anything to us. I can’t put the whole story here but to make it short the “desert” we saw was literally 1 Dune and that’s it. I have never been so bored in my entire life while traveling. We did not want to pay that much for the tour as it was clearly a robbery. We had a discussion with this guy en eventually we paid less 70€. When the day after we discovered the map and tour he sold us was from an outside company and it’s usually organized with included dinner and 1 night in the desert by the original tour company, we went back to the Rose Noir and asked for the invoice for the tours and spoke to the owner, Jmiia, who apparently did not know anything. She was very nice and I am sorry for her to have a person like this Guy but I cannot avoid to put this review in here. Also this is not the only money he asked for we paid 45€ for a taxi ride from the hotel to Ait Ben Haddou which is 30km away only. And the taxi to go back to the airport which he never provided after we had the discussion for the tour which happened the day before we were flying back.

Rose Noire is delightful. Our room was absolutely beautiful with traditional Moroccan decorative touches. It is hard to describe the magic of the place. To get in, you weave through narrow allies and then arrive in a gorgeous sanctuary that seems to be built into an ancient wall.

Open rooftop. We were told and it turned out safe to park our rental car 2 nites outside the medina. (But in a dark end -of-road parking lot.). You will need to feel safe walking dark alleys; we were but we had been in Morocco for two weeks already and understood/accepted the safety. Good if you accept the adventure side of life.

Cons: Access difficult within the medina. Arriving: Taxi dropped us 400-500 meters from the hotel. Needed to hire help to drag heavy wheeled bags over very uneven winding pathway. Stay: Fairly long walk to closest restaurant. Hotel arranged taxis were 4X actual rate.

Location close to souk, museum etc. Room was large and heating worked well. Bathroom also large. Extremely quiet at night. The guy sorry not sure of his name that checks you in etc extremely helpful with answering questions even though English is not his language. Cons: Be aware that the access is down a narrow tunnel and around the back with a barking dog on the way. Check in is not the usual more like an area of their home. Magical place, the building is an ancient extremely beautiful traditional building, still the rooms are big and cosy and the bathroom is perfect, with a proper shower and everything. We loved every moment there and we wished we could have stayed more. The staff has been great to us and literally saved us, we arrived early in the morning after a catastrophic night bus ride from Casablanca and we were just hoping we could leave our luggage there until check-in time, instead they offered us some tea on their lovely terrace and have us a room at nine in the morning, which truly made our day as we could shower and sleep a couple of hours and still enjoy the second half of our day, we're very grateful that. The breakfast in the morning has been lovely, with some homemade bread baked for us on the spot. Did I already mention that the building itself and the interior design off the place is beautiful? It truly feels like living in a tale. Highly recommended.

Beautifully decorated and quite. Staff are exceptionally friendly. Kareem has helped us a lot. Rooms need a freshen up, but overall good value for money. Breakfast was ok.

Cons: Towels and bed lined were badly worn out towels had holes in it.

Gorgeous Riad in Ourazazate, it’s nice and quiet with a lovely rooftop where you have breakfast.

Cons: Just as the rest of the reviews say, it’s not the location it says on Google but we found it thanks to the directions on another review.

The hosts could not have been more helpful especially as I was travelling with my mum who is 88 years old. We were so well looked after including one of the staff helping to take my mum up the 3 flights of stairs so she could enjoy the wonderful view from the roof terrace. Sadly we couldn't make it up the stairs for breakfast each day but we did get to enjoy the scenery. All staff were kind and patient, warm friendly and extremely welcoming. I would love to return there one day and highly recommend staying there. Stunning location and the house itself is just beautiful, a wonder to behold.

Cons: Nothing!

Everything!!! It is one of the most magic and friendly places I've ever been in my life time. Jmiaa makes you feel at home, the home-made food is incredible and the staff is amazing. Also the historic familiar building is beautiful and enigmatic located in middle of the old city- It is just incredible! I will be back very soon just to spend some days there! I fully recommend The Rose Noir

Cons: It is too good to be real! heheh e Nothing is wrong at Jmiaa place. I couldn’t mention anything negative

Service was great, rooftop was beautiful and the architecture was lovely. The home is cute and cozy and some restaurants were walking distance nearby. There are no elevators but the family that owns and operates the Rose can help carry them.

Cons: Checkin took a while because the passport form had to be filled out perfectly. It took several tries for us to get it correct. Took about an hour + to complete. The entrance took a minute to find but it’s still accessible.

Our stay at Rose Noire was one of the most enjoyable in Morocco. We stayed for 2 nights in total (at the beginning and end of our trip). Jmiaa, her family and staff were extremely welcoming and warm hosts. We loved the terrace with amazing views over the Kasbah and Ouarzazate. The hotel is in an excellent location, 10 minutes walk from the centre. This is a restored Riad, with great , characterful interiors which offers an authentic stay with amazing views. Breakfast was excellent, with the best pancakes! Highly recommended and if we ever visit Ouarzazate we will be staying at Rose Noire.

Cons: everything was perfect!

Interesting location of the hotel in the very old part of the town. Nice view from the roof terrace. Staff helpful and friendly. I liked also decorations, main staircase and room arrangement. Proximity of Kasbah, Cinema Museum and very interesting Old Synagogue. definitely recommended to stay there.

Cons: Breakfast could have been a bit better organized in terms of buffet arrangements and product availability (no omelet). Might be difficult to find the hotel.

If you are looking for a crisp clean white hotel/riad, where there is not a speck of dust, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for the most romantic setting, with over the top decorations, and a lovely family atmosphere, you found it! The rooms are huge and colorful, almost Arabian fairy-tale style. The bed was very big and good, and lots of blankets for the cold nights. The breakfast is served on the (again) romantic rooftop, with a great view of the surroundings. The people where very laid back, friendly and made us feel right at home.

Cons: the location is not where google/booking says where it is, the best way to get there is, when coming from the bus station, don't go in the kasbah, but follow the sign (see picture) before going up the bridge to the kasbah, and keep right until you see a sort of communal bathing place, there, you go left in to kasbah, and you are there.

Staff helped with luggage to the carpark which is useful because the riad is not easy to find. Shower had good hot water. The building felt authentic and Kasbah-like.

Cons: No washing machine or views as advertised for our room. We found it dark and small bathroom with no where to put toiletries.

Big comfortable room, good breakfast, great rooftop deck with wonderful views of city, and medina, great host, and wonderful location.

Big room, big nice bed. Traditional style. For the value you get the price is right.

Cons: Difficult to find. Tucked in a corner of a system of alleys and tunnels in a shabby area of the kasbah. Clumsy bathroom: no towel rack, no hook for the shower, no hot water even after long wait. Poor wifi.

Liked the young man on the staff - went completely out of the way to help with everything and tried really hard to relax us after a long trip. Breakfast is very good on a comfortable terrace.

Cons: The place is hard to find. Had to pay 15dh to some guy just to show us how to get to it. The hotel/riad has seen better days and is quite worn out. Some things don't work. Flies swarm you when you try to eat breakfast. The price was out of the line with the quality of the room, we got a nice riad right in the centre of marakech for the same price.

This is a charming riad, in an authentic Berber style, Located inside the Kasbah of Ouarzazate, very close to the site - Kasbah Taourirt. my room was huge, spacious, clean and beautiful, I felt like I was sleeping in a luxurious Bedouin camp... The environment is quiet and pleasant and there is a large balcony on the roof that has a pleasant air and overlooks the entire landscape around.. and there they also serve a good breakfast... fresh traditional bread and a selection of yogurts jams and cheese coffee and of course also Moroccan tea The place is managed by a lovely woman named Jamia, she is attentive and helpful and despite her warmth she also knows how to give space and privacy to her guests.. and I liked it very much .. She really gave me the feeling of home
