PLEASE READ TILL THE END: It is indeed hard to explain how good this hotel is. Starting with the standard stuff - the rooms are great, big, quiet and super clean. Big and comfy beds. The staff is amazing and extremely helpful for literarly everything. Their concierge services are superb. The beach is AMAZING. The sand is like powder. We read that the seabottom is a bit rocky but noone told us that it is not rocks, those are corals !!! CORALS. We were mind blown. Seeing corals and all the sea life snorkeling was a dream. All the restaurants are great and of big variety. Pools are clean and big. Every hour there is some event somewhere. You can not be bored. BUT, here is why we will tell you that you need to stay there. Do not look for other place. During our stay we were dumb enough to go to the market and buy pre-cut fruits.... BIG mistake. We did that in the afternoon and in the evening our daughter started vomiting since we got a bacteria. At about 2 AM she had done that 4 times so we called the reception for help and explained the problem. After 20 min ( I am not exaggerating ) we had a doctor in our room who was fully updated on our situation. She was so prepared that she did an IV drip in the room, gave her all the needed meds and even blood sample for bacteria which on the next day turned out possitive. On the next morning, the reception called us to check on her and provide complimentary food for our child in the room. So, being in a very distant country and being hit with such a problem is not easy. But in that hotel, it really felt like home. Actually, talking to other guys we met in the hotel about this, all from EU, we all agreed that none of us could say they can get such service in their countries. :) The thing is that one vacation can be great, but it can also have some setbacks. Well, in that hotel guys, they will make sure your nice time is a great time and in your bad days you will not be alone and you will feel safe.

What an amazing resort! The food choices were so good within the buffet dinners. Loved the Italian and Japanese restaurants. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I was with my family on holiday at the hotel during the Christmas holidays. The hotel is excellent with large and very comfortable rooms (mine was with a sea view), very clean, with a great beach suitable for diving at high tide, with many restaurants and excellent staff (special thanks to Miki and Peachy - hope I spell them correctly). Even though the hotel was full because of Christmas, there were always free sunbeds on the beach. We also visited most of the restaurants in the complex, everywhere the food was excellent with reasonable prices, and I would like to especially mention the excellent and very varied breakfast. The hotel also has a shuttle bus to Patong, which requires advance booking. Overall, the atmosphere was extremely relaxed resort-like, despite the crowds. I highly recommend the resort...

We had an excellent experience at Beach Grill Restaurant. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, with great food and a perfect beachside vibe. What truly made our visit outstanding was the exceptional service from Marina, Mook, and Kwan. They were all incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional, always checking in with a genuine smile and making sure everything was perfect. It is overall a great package! The Thai food at the Merchant Kitchen restaurant is very good! Service is very good as well and you always get a smile back from staff. Tuk helped us at lunch and she was very nice and accomodating. The surrounding nature and water activities like snorkeling and kayaking are very nice as well! You get to relax and expore and chill.

I am usually not very generous when it comes to giving evaluations, but our three-night, four-day stay at Phuket Merlin Beach Resort was truly exceptional and deserves a perfect 10 out of 10 for both facilities and service. The private beach was very well maintained, with clean and soft sand, making it a pleasure to spend time there. The hotel room was also comfortable and well equipped, meeting all of our expectations. However, the greatest strength of Merlin Beach Resort is undoubtedly its staff. Every team member was consistently warm, professional, and attentive. All of our requests were handled quickly and accurately, which made our stay completely stress-free. In particular, Ms. Jam at the Elite Member Desk took exceptional care of our family throughout the entire stay. From the organised pick up and return to and from Phuket International Airport to the amazing room and incredible staff throughout the resort. The excellent buffet breakfast with limitless options was outstanding as were all of the restaurants. As a special note we had the best Wagu steak ever at Beach Kitchen and Bar with yummy lobster accompanied by an awesome fire show. By far the highlight of our trip was the team at the swim up bar. A shout out to all the crew including, Mam, Chai, Ron, Armin, Dom, Plamy, Nat, Saw, Teddy, Neem, BM, Dion, Por, Mean and Peana. Best team ever, so much fun and nothing is too much trouble. Cocktails and Shots forever, these guys are a huge part of the reason we’ll never stay anywhere else. Love you guys.

Absolutely lovely hotel with high attention to detail. There is so much to do. The food is the best we've had on a all-inclusive holiday, so much to choose from and very good quality. We paid extra a couple of nights for A5 wagu steak which was incredible. All the restaurants are designed to make you feel you've left the hotel and are unique. The pools are great, enough sunbeds for everyone. Beach bar is nice especially on the evening. Rooms are clean, large and have everything you need. There is a pharmacy down the road which was helpful if needed. Lots of tours to book at the hotel too. Only downsides: The rooms aren't very soundproof, we did hear people walking around upstairs and children running around at 5am most days. We did mention to reception, they did give us a fruit basket. But was disappointed with not being able to sleep in some mornings. The hotel seemed to close for conferences and weddings a lot. There was one evening where 2 restaurants were closed to guests for a conference and a wedding which only left the lobby bar free for the evening. I didn't travel across the world to sit in a reception bar... So that was a shame. One massive positive was the staff, they were all so friendly and would like to pass thank you to MJ, Baz, Nina, Team and Mook Pingding. They were all attentive and helpful. Overall a lovely holiday and would recommend to people!

Stayed at the Marriott Merlin Spa beach resort for 5 nights. We had a lovely time. The hotel is big with great restaurants, which are all part of the all inclusive package with some items that had a surcharge but it shows on the menus. It also has a coffee shop with Starbucks coffee, also included in the all inclusive. The hotel has great facilities & a lovely private beach. Plenty of sun loungers around all 3 pools & free towels. The rooms are spacious and bathroom had a bathtub. Aon our housekeeper made sure our room was cleaned & had fresh towels everyday. Met Mam from housekeeping, she greeted us & made sure everything was ok. Only negative was the rooms are a little tired & showing their age. All the staff are all lovely & friendly. Very welcoming & always smiling. We went to the japanese restaurant Kanpai a few times which has amazing food where we were greeted by Nonny & her team with a very warm welcome & great service. Nonny made sure everything was always ok. Toto was also great. Nida from the Lounge bar was lovely, always looked after us. Anfield & Benz from the bar too were fantastic. Kik from The beachgrill restaurant was fabulous too, Will definitely go back

The staff were faultless and couldn't do enough for us. The hotel is superb with great facilities and the transport into Patong was well organized. The bars were well stocked and the restaurants were great with superb food.

Cons: I would have liked maybe a store on site that sells a few grocery items. Also the TV in the room had very little choice and we were unable to watch things like Netflix/Prime etc as we couldn't cast anthing which we would have liked as the weather was extremely average for our 8 day stay. A hotel of this stature should have that facility.

This is my 2nd time staying at this resort. First time was two years back in June 2023. Both times i booked the room on the ground level with direct beach access. I am extremely disappointed with this round's stay and will not be returning for the following reasons:- 1. Check in:- check in was slow. After collecting payment from and running through check out times/facilities etc, I was told that my room will not be ready until 4pm because it was full occupancy and there are only 6 rooms available for my room category. I said that this was unacceptable given that i checked in at 130pm. I also said that if that had been the case, this should have been made known to me PRIOR to charging me the full sum so that I could consider the option of changing the room if i did not wish to wait until 4pm to be given my room category. The manager subsequently came and told me that they needed more time to fix something/engineering issue and offered me a temporary room to rest until my room was ready at 4pm. However, he started the conversation with 'to tell you very honestly' which led me to seriously doubt what was exactly the truth and I had a very strong sense they were just trying to dismiss me. 2. Service/Housekeeping :- 2nd night the housekeeper for some reason just tidied the room but failed to replenish any of the toiletries. Service wise was sub-par. 3. Room key:- for some reason stopped working on my 3rd day after I returned to the room and the nearby housekeeper just easily let me in with her key (which got me thinking, was it so easy to get into any room?) 4. final straw:- my room category was beach access which should have been one of the best rooms. They gave me the very last room right next to a work area. The noise was one thing but there was no way I could have used the patio facing the work area with a pile of sand right in front of my patio. I gave my feedback to the manager. This room 3122 should NEVER have been let out and the fact that this was one of the rooms available and let out just speaks of dishonour and even dishonesty. My pictures speak for themselves. Point number 4 was the last straw. Everything else can be overlooked. I had given my feedback to the manager and they have tried throwing refunds/free dinners but everything they have offered to throw me just made me feel that they wanted to shut me up with freebies without giving due consideration of what I was trying to put across to them. I feel that this is one of the most blatant dishonourable business practice of running a hotel I have come across. I had a great trip in Phuket but that had absolutely nothing to do with the hotel stay and this will be my last time staying here.

The facilities are top notch, modern, clean, spacious and thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation. At dinner, *Til*, *Monika* and *Nina* (manager) made every evening feel special with their attentive service and kindness. A special shout out to *Pan* at the snorkeling and dive center. Even though the weather didn’t allow us to go snorkeling, Pan spent time sharing insights about conservation efforts and Thai coastal life. It was an unexpected highlight we truly appreciated. We spent a lot of time there with the staff! MJ, Nina and Beer , were the sweetest! They took very good care of us and even entertained us as they worked hard. We stayed in a room with the lazy river pool access, they had these floating green pillow that were so comfortable. The food was the best we have had at a resort though this was our third resort experience. The fresh fruit is a must. We liked Kanpai over DOCG. The breakfast buffet did eggs well as well as all the Asian food. The happy hour train was good fun going from pool bar to rum bar to lounge bar. The RUM BAR was the best! The lounge bar had terrible service . We never did get our drinks one night and went back to the Rum Bar. Patty and Filmmy were our favorites at breakfast. They were both very sweet, warm and accommodating. Filmmy even saved me one night! There are children all over even in spaces not designated for children but it did not ruin the relaxing experience. The beach had the most amazing soft sand. But much of the coral has been damaged and is caught in the surf which creates very sharp surfaces. In rough rough surf the water is strong enough it was pushing large corral chunks around and one hit my ankle with so much force it is hard to walk. Ps: we highly recommend the massage tent to the south of Merlin beach. They did a fantastic on us for 1hr service time. We did one excursion via the hotel to the Phuket Elephant Sanctuary. The sanctuary program was great! Soma our guide was fantastic. It did rain quite a lot right at the end and our 1hr ride back to the hotel turned into 2.5 hrs.

We had an amazing stay, a room overlooking the sea, beautiful breakfast every day. Everything in this hotel is convenient. The gym is also quite good. You can go snorkeling on the private beach. Special mention goes to Mook, she made our breakfasts extra special and she was lovely every morning. Also, the Thai restaurant in the hotel was fantastic, Lisa was excellent! There is an indoor kids cafe/play area, swimming play area, butterfly sanctuary, and schedule of activities for the whole week. The resort has its own private beach which is very relaxing and can be seen from our room even from the bathtub.

We spent two weeks at the Marriott, Patong and had the best time. I cannot fault any part of our stay. The rooms and facilities were top class. The wonderful entertainers in the Lounge bar were excellent, with Francis happy to take any requests we had for a special song, I loved sitting back with a cold drink listening to these guys while relaxing most evenings. The famous rum shack hit the mark, with the fantastic Nina and Beer having a special mention, but the truth is all the staff were A1. Everyone from the reception to the lovely housekeeping staff deserve a mention. I wish I could list all the names and praise each one individually but I would be here all week writing that up. This review is based on my stay, which was great, but often a place is only what you make of it yourself. My final tip would be to spoil yourself in the spa at least once.

Staying at the Marriott Hotel in Merlin Beach was one of the best holiday experiences I have had. Everything was absolutely perfect. There were limitless breakfast options, and everything tasted amazing. There were nice toiletries in the bathroom. I also loved the butterfly sanctuary. There were lots of entertainment options in the hotel. I really liked using the gym, and thought it was a nice touch having a fridge of cold towels, and juice available. I also enjoyed the yoga in the mornings, and the instructor was very friendly. I stayed during Loy Krathong, and was amazed by the beautiful decorations, and walking through the lobby I was invited by some very friendly staff to join in making Krathongs. I did not get their names, but they were so friendly and helpful, and I really enjoyed this unexpected fun. They also gave me a lovely elephant souvenir too. While eating breakfast or sitting by the pool, the staff would come around with things to try such as chicken tenders, passionfruit and ginger shots, or watermelon. This was a really lovely touch. What really made the experience great was the staff. Every member of staff was so friendly, and I really enjoyed talking to them. Unfortunately I did not get everyone’s names, however Alex the bellboy was very helpful. In the mornings at breakfast time, Gift was so sweet and attentive. She introduced my sister and I to the iced chocolate drink which we absolutely loved. During the Loy Krathong festival I also met Tuk and Monika, who really made the evening special. They were both so cheerful and friendly. I really think the staff at this hotel are incredible!

Cons: I couldn't book anything to my room so I had to have my credit card with me even to buy a drink in the pool. I was not advised I could have arranged a breakfast package or also a drinks package at a discount rate until another guest advised me on our last day. Our room was not made up for 2 days. My daughter and I were sick even though we only ate at the resort and only drank the bottled water and I was sent a doctor to our room who didn't advise of costs until after treatment and costs were just under 20,000 baht!

We are always greeted by the wonderful staffs, each one are super friendly, courteous, and helpful. Big thanks to Lisa, Mo, and Chef Nina, who helped to make my Thai cooking experience fun and unforgettable. The hotel is beautifully situated with its own private beach, which is absolutely gorgeous. Their rooms are spotless and spacious, and the beds and pillows are super comfortable. We like hotels with big swimming pools, Merlin has 3 big ones. Many good restaurants in the hotel serve excellent quality food. The hotel also arranged many activities for adults and kids throughout the day, so we were never bored staying in the hotel. We enjoyed our stay at the Marriott Merlin and would recommend it to anyone who's looking for an unforgettable vacation.

I had the most amazing Loy krathong - what a beautiful festival with a beautiful meaning. The girls welcomed me to the table to make krathongs with them which was a beautiful experience. At the restaurant I had the most amazing time with the beautiful Monika and Tuk for the Loy Krathong festival. They were so friendly and so attentive. I really can’t say enough about Monika & Tuk. They really welcomed us, I felt honoured for them to be spending their festival with us and sharing their knowledge of Thai culture.

However it's the staff that make the experience from Tuk and crew at the merchant kitchen, Tiger and the crew at D.O.C.G, Sunny and all at the pool bar staff, Ninda and crew at the Lounge or Mook and everyone at the beach grill. We encountered no issues whatsoever and would like to give Monica from Merchant's Kitchen a shout out as she was a star while we stayed. Layout of the hotel is great, a kids slide added in recently which was a bonus for my 2 little one's. The only improvement I would suggest is some evening entertainment, there is no central location to accommodate this so not sure how feasible an ask this is but after dinner there is very little to do and town is a drive away. Great for Victoria (manager) to chat to us towards the end of the stay, doing a great job!

This hotel boasts a fantastic complex, a beautiful house reef, numerous restaurants, and the best staff we've ever encountered. I was a little worried about the location at first after talking to some friends from Phuket. They said Patong wasn't the nicest or cleanest area. But honestly, it wasn't like that at all. This place is perfect. It's far enough away that you don't have to deal with the noise and drunk tourists, but it's only a five-minute taxi to the center of the action. That's where you'll find all the nightlife, clubs, shopping, the Thai boxing stadium, massages, and restaurants. It's got all the bright colors, smiles, and fun you're looking for in Thailand. The hotel itself is super nice and definitely lives up to its 5-star rating. The facilities are some of the best on the island, and the restaurants and buffets are awesome with a huge variety. The staff is also great—really friendly and they know what they're doing. Pools are great, you couldn't wish for more.

Cons: The Japanese restaurant was a real highlight for me. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the Italian place, DOCG. Maybe it's just my taste, or maybe you just shouldn't go looking for authentic Italian food in Thailand. It was a bit of a letdown. Over at the Merchant's Kitchen, the buffets are a bit hit-or-miss depending on the day. Some were fantastic, a solid 5+, while others felt more like a 4-. I noticed the cleaning could be a little inconsistent around the resort as well. As for the beach, it's nice to look at but not the easiest for a swim. The water only comes up high enough in the morning until about 11, and then again after 5 when it's getting dark. The nature is incredible, though—there are corals and you can do some snorkeling. Just a heads up: you'll definitely want coral shoes, and it's a long walk through shallow water to get out to the deeper part.

Quite frankly the property met and exceed our expectations. It is on the beach which can be directly accessed from the property. Being a resort, it caters to families, toddlers, kids and frankly to every one. It has multiple swimming pools that are fantastic and enjoyable. The multiple restaurants cater to all the tastes and requirements. The breakfast and the dinner buffets were a lavish spread and were value for money. The rooms were outstanding and ours had a pool view as well as a distant ocean view. The staff is extremely friendly and hospitable and did cater to our needs. Polla at the concierge desk was extremely helpful in planning our daily sightseeing visits as well as local visits to Phuket old town. All in all, our entire family had a wonderful time. From the moment we arrived, the team surprised us with an upgrade to a beautiful ocean-view suite and even arranged an extra bed for our kids — such a thoughtful gesture that made our family trip much easier. We were genuinely grateful. The welcome drinks were another lovely touch — they brought us full bottles of beer right to the table! We checked in just in time to enjoy the bubble bath session at the pool, which was our children’s very first experience — they were absolutely thrilled. Next to the pool was an impressive giant water slide and a fun splash area for younger kids. Their eyes lit up the moment they saw it — truly their little paradise. That evening, we initially planned to dine outside, but the hotel happened to be hosting a seafood buffet. Shortly after we sat down, Tuk came over to chat with us so warmly that we instantly felt right at home. The seafood spread was fantastic, and we deeply appreciate the attentive service from Bao, Monika, Blue, Nemo, and the Rahul Merchant team. Breakfast was another highlight. Even after two mornings, we were amazed by its variety and the small daily changes. When our kids got a bit restless, the staff kindly kept them entertained with friendly conversation and drawing paper — thank you so much to AUM, ANN, and Fena for your thoughtful care. Besides swimming every day, we also went snorkeling in the tidal area, and our kids loved building sandcastles on the beach. The arcade area with free billiards, basketball machines, chess, and popcorn kept them happily occupied for hours. And of course, the Kids Club was the perfect spot for parents to relax. Not only does it have plenty of play facilities, but it also offers creative and educational activities. One class involved making keychains from sea-glass pieces smoothed by the waves — a fun way to teach children about protecting the ocean. We’re especially grateful to Tan, Rainy, Alice, Ann, Puifai, Katy, and YaYa for their kindness, patience, and warm companionship throughout our stay. We visited in October, at the end of the rainy season, and we were unlucky with the weather. However, staying at the Marriott resort Merlin Beach meant we were never stuck for things to do when the rain drove us from our sunbeds. Our room was spacious, and the facilities are excellent, including the wonderful food at the various restaurants. In particular, the Japanese restaurant, Kanpai, was delicious. I must also give a shout-out to the team at The Lounge, especially Nida, who looked after us brilliantly when the heavens opened; a happy 'hour' that runs from 4pm-10pm across the resort's 3 bars was also very welcome. Also, the resort is just a short 10-15 minute taxi ride into lively Patong. Overall, we would thoroughly recommend this hotel if staying in Phuket.

Cons: It was supposed to be our honeymoon trip. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, we heard children crying and shouting everywhere — it was extremely noisy, which is very disappointing for couples without kids. The main issue, however, was the sea. We chose this hotel because it had a private beach, but it turned out to be full of rocks and not suitable for swimming at all — a complete disappointment. After checking in, we went to see our room and the hotel area, but very quickly realized that we couldn’t stay there. We returned to the reception, paid the cancellation charge, and left the hotel. We can’t complain about the building or the rooms themselves, but the overall atmosphere and experience were a total failure for us.

Where do I start? Okay let me start with first day. Checked in by some wonderful friendly staff. Got to my room and it was very spacious and best part was the beach just steps from my sliding door. Unpacked and time for a drink. Headed over to Rum Shack and I met the most wonderful staff there. Talk about a resort that treats you really well and this place should be right up there with the best of the best. Nina, Beer, Chai and Man ( yes their real names, so they say) we absolutely fantastic. Head on to dinner time after a shower and change and by then you cannot remember anyone's names because you had a blast at Rum Shack. Lovely dinner and the staff were awesome. Breakfast time and you haver Pear, Ferry, Patty and many more that are so attentive, caring and making sure you always got what you what. Best partition day 2 they already know what you want (if coffee or tea) before they seat you. Breakfast spread is in abundance. Start you day and there are so many things to do at the hotel, you don't have to leave. I am going to STOP now for fear of people not wanting to ready a long review. All in all MUST VISIT. Love to you all at Marriott Merlin Beach.

We had a 10 night stay at the Marriott in Merlin Beach. We loved it all. We did the all inclusive deal and it was great. The food was amazing at all the restaurants with plenty of variety and nearly everything was included in the package. All the restaurants, bars, coffee shop and ice cream shop were included with only one or two items at each with a small surcharge above the package. We didn’t need to go beyond the package at all. The staff were amazing. A special thank you to Pear in the Merchant Kitchen along with Patty, their service was exceptional. Late afternoon/ evenings at The Rum Shack with Nina and MJ were great. The cocktails were fantastic and I recommend you let them choose for you. The pool bar is a great set up and you don’t have to get up at the crack of dawn for a lounge. We stayed in building 4 which was a bit further away from everything and I probably request building 3 or a poolside room when we return in the future. Khan did a wonderful job and looked after our room each day and left us a lovely note and some amazing towel art each day. It was a nice touch. Thank you to the whole team at Marriott Merlin Beach. We loved every moment and we’ll be back.

Beautiful hotel with wonderful staff and lovely facilities. Very child friendly with a huge kids pool. The main pool has a swim up bar, however lots of kids also use this pool. If you don’t have kids and don’t want to listen to kids screaming, this can be annoying. Food is great but again kids running around everywhere. The beach is very rocky and I did not enjoy the experience. Service and drinks are great. My overall impression is that it’s a wonderful hotel for families but not for adults.

Of all the hotels I have stayed at this was one of our best experiences. The facilities are great but what really makes this resort is the staff. We've been here a week already and every member of staff we have interacted with has been helpful, knowledgeable and genuinely nice. Today I asked one of the staff (Evelyn) how I go about feeding back and reviewing their quality service, and my appreciation and she said a TripAdvisor review would be helpful so here I am. I really do appreciate all the care and attention they have put into making our 15 year anniversary special. Thank you Mona, Nina, Evelyn, Eva, Milky, Nida, Aor, Yayi, Big, Beer and all the other staff who have been lovely.

Three pools: kids pool with water slides, main pool with music and pool bar, and the waterfall pool, quiet and secluded) Service was incredible! Nothing beats Thai hospitality, but particularly the details of service quality from Aui and Flim at the Beach Grill, who always greeted us with a smile and remembered my coffee order, bringing it to me as soon as I sat down.

The property was quite large so it had a few options.we liked there were 3 pools, many restaurants to choose from. There was a shuttle from the hotel to Patong which was good.& they had complimentary times which was great.The resort has access to the beach which was great. The hotel had a great buffet with lots of choice.

Cons: We didn’t have anything we didn’t like, only thing was that the swim up bar was been renovated which was completed on our day we checked out. Sadly somethings happen.

Cons: Something to consider is that there is just one road leading to the hotel, through patong beach, which means traffic jams most of the time during the day. Additionally, the water pressure in the shower was low. However, these did not interfere ine bit with our pleasure.

We have had the BEST time at the Rum Shack over our stay in Merlin Bay. The staff are completely lovely, highly skilled and pay exceptional attention to detail. Everything is geared towards making guests feel welcome and comfortable. Cons: The buffet was average, and there wasn't much activity at the resort. It's located at the very end of Phuket, which makes it time-consuming to reach popular destinations. Takes a lot of time to get to any desirable location.

The service was exceptional. All the employees were always smiling and had good attitude. They would do the best to help you. Concierge was really helpful with contacting our airlines to follow up with the status of our broken luggage. TOTO from the Japanese restuarant was an amazing guy that served us complimentary drink and sushi when he found out it was our honeymoon. Also GOM from the cleaning department was a really nice guy and he did an excellent job cleaning our room every time. If you are into drinks and you gonna spend most of your time in the hotel, make sure to order their all inclusive package on arrival. It covers all meals and drinks. Trust me, it very well worth it.

Cons: The only down side was that they had repairs going on the pool bar and another section so we couldn’t use those locations but they provided alternative for us. Repair were supposed to be done by Oct 1st but we left at Sep 29th. Also this is a family hotel. So you are going to see so many kids all around the hotel. If you want an adult only hotel, this is not your place.
