Nous avons adoré l’atmosphère de ce très beau Riad. Tout le monde est adorable et au petit soin. Les repas sont excellents (couscous, tagine, poisson … ) et très abordables. Le petit déjeuner très complet et délicieux (un jus d’orange frais, et spécialités marocaines). La chambre propre et bien décorée était agréable. On entend les oiseaux, c’est très calme. Pas de TV mais un bon WIFI.

A beautiful riad with nice rooms, lots of space where you can hang out (inside and outside), very friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast and dinners (to be paid extra if you want to eat there). A lovely place to have a few days away from the hustle and bustle (which can easily be reached by taxi).

Cons: The riad is like a beautiful located in a village/small town outside of Essaouira, which we know beforehand. The surrounding area is not very nice, with lots of building works going on, so an evening stroll isn't really an option . We once walked from there to Essaouira (about 7 km I think) which is perfectly possible but not very pretty. We had no problem in getting (cheap) taxis to or from Essaouira so it wasn't really an issue. And once you are at Dar Etto it's really beautiful.

Je suis tombée amoureuse de cet endroit. C’est comme sur la photo, nous n’avons pas été déçu. un cadre exceptionnel apaisant 😀tellement apaisant d’ailleurs qu’on aurait même plus envie de sortir… ces murs de Pierre, les petits oiseaux qui chantent, et surtout le sourire et la gentillesse de tout le personnelle ! Ils ne sont vraiment pas nombreux, mais justement on se sent bien avec eux malgré leur discrétion. Et à l’étage sur cette grande terrasse, il y a une immense tente traditionnel, magnifique. J’ai impression que à chaque petit recoin, il y a un endroit pour chacun pour s’y reposer ou boire un thé ou lire un livre… Elle a quelque chose de spécial, je dirais un mélange de traditionnel et une touche de moderne, je je sais pas vraiment comment la décrire une bâtisse provençale tout en étant un Riyad,. Elle a vraiment quelque chose de spécial et de sur plus à notre grande surprise, dès que nous sommes arrivés, nous avons eu droit au thé à la menthe avec des biscuits.. nous avons apprécié ce petit geste de bienvenue… nous avons eu aussi l’occasion de goûter la tajine de bœuf et la tajine de citron. C’était excellent un prix très très correct. Nous avons même eu une salade en entrée le dessert on s’attendait pas à en avoir autant 😃enfin vraiment rien à redire une excellente cuisinière… les deux jeunes garçons qui sont aussi aux petits soins pour vous sont adorables. Vous pouvez leur demander ce que vous voulez, ils feront tout pour vous exaucer vos souhaits 😃 tous d’une discrétion, rien ne vient perturber votre bien-être. Et je finirai aussi par dire un petit mot pour le Patron très gentil, très serviable il a beaucoup travaillé de ses mains dans cette maison, on voit qu’il y a mis tout son cœur et toute son énergie pour en faire ce petit écrin de bonheur.

Cons: une seule critique, il y a pourtant des transats de partout à l’étage, mais peut-être je dirais juste penser à mettre deux petits mais vraiment petit transats au bord de la piscine ! ou alors un petit hamac 😀Ce qui donnerait encore plus de charme 😃

Nous avons passé quelques nuits de rêve à DAR ETTO. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis avec beaucoup de soin et de gentillesse par le jeune Yassir. Le propriétaire et sa femme sont extrêmement chaleureux, la décoration est magnifique et cosy reflétant le région d’Essaouira, le personnel est d’une serviabilité exemplaire. Bref, tout était absolument parfait ! Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir dès que possible.

I loved everything. A friend and I just stayed for a week. It's such a peaceful oasis. The family in charge are the most hospitable people we have ever met and very helpful. The breakfast and food is delicious. The Hammam and massage are fantastic. After being in Essaouira all day, arriving to Dar Etto with that calming vibe was the most magical thing. I really felt as being at home. The Riad is 9 km from Essaouira but the taxi is only 5 € one ride. We strongly recommend Dar Etto, you won't regret staying here. Big hugs to all the family/staff and thank you again for everything, we will be back! Àngels

Nice location and beautiful spacious rooms. The man at the reception was extremely helpful (helped us print out boarding passes). Plenty of room to chill and airco is also present. Breakfast is plenty but some fresh fruit would be nice.

Cons: The hamman was extremely expensive (300 dirham for a wash). We stayed for lunch and had tagine, flavours were very good, but again also quite expensive for local norms (1 piece of meat per person).

The staff was JUST LOVELY 🥰 Perfect quiet sleep, although we had Theron right next to the pool and reception area. It offers a lot of outdoor seating areas, so it never feels crowded. Amazing pool 🤩

Cons: The room feels a bit cramped, with the extra sofa… Room was a bit dark. Bathroom light is wired, and could need better light near the mirror and in the shower. Just somehow expected it to be a bit more spacious/ luxurious for the price. Also, too few towels, but we could have certainly just asked for more. Some outdoor furniture was a bit run down - could be easily replaced to make a much nicer appearance.

This was a lovely family-run riad in a great location between Essaouira and Sidi Kaouki. Staff were super friendly and helpful. My partner and I were working remotely a fair bit while here and the WiFi was excellent plus there are so many different little areas around the property that it was easy to find somewhere quiet and comfortable to work.

Cons: Bed was far too hard for me, actually found I was waking up feeling uncomfortable a fair bit in the night. Some of the furnishings are a little tired and could do with a refresh.

The breakfast was the best we have had in Morocco so far and the Hamam was also a great experience! And to top it off Said was so sweet and took in the stray kitten we were taking care of for a few days! We are so thankful and happy we chose this riad! The entire accommodation complex was amazing. Plenty of space, a pool, rooftop terraces, a super friendly host, and a beautiful room. Parking was safe and secure in the courtyard. The host kindly offered tea and cookies right at the beginning. There was even a fridge available to chill your drinks. Absolutely fantastic place for the price. Highly recommended!

This Riad was a fabulous find! Riad dar Etto is a true hidden gem run by a family who couldn’t have been more hospitable. They do not serve alcohol but you are welcome to bring your own as we were told by the staff treat the place as your home. They have a fridge for you to put any food or drink in during your stay. Breakfast was great and we were looked after for dinner one night at the Riad where we were served a delicious goat tagine! Would definitely recommend. Siad (front of house) recommended for us to visit Sidi Kaoki which is a lovely surfing village with lots of little restaurants and a couple of licensed bars (great place to watch the sunset). If you do not have a hire car the staff are happy to book you a taxi into Essaouira for 50 MADS and pick up is 60 MADS. The Riad have a lovely spa and hammam onsite where you can arrange for a massage. We had a 1h relaxing massage for 350 MAD the first night and it was so good we booked another one for the next day. Girls did a great job! Thank you to Siad and his family for looking after us so well and we will look forward to returning on our next visit to Morocco!

This riad is simply stunning, with a charming, castle-like character. The room was quite spacious, and the bathroom had an incredible atmosphere. Breakfasts were delicious and indulgent, with fresh eggs and a different variety of pancakes each day, accompanied by freshly squeezed orange juice. The riad is beautifully decorated down to the last detail, with lovely flowers, a well-kept pool, and a tree by the pool that adds to the ambiance and charm. The rooftop is amazing, equipped with sun loungers and a perfect spot to relax in the evening, stargazing under the night sky. This is by far the most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed in. The welcome with mint tea and almond cookies was a thoughtful touch that made us feel right at home. It's clear the owner has poured his heart into this place, and you can feel it from the moment you step inside. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The location isn't in the city center, but we were aware of this when booking. Given the unique character of the riad, we were happy to take a 15-minute taxi ride to the center. The owner arranges taxis for just 5 euros each way, which is a great convenience and saves you from haggling. Overall, a fantastic stay!

The Riad is about 15 minutes outside of essaouira by car and when we were there the owners ordered us taxis to get in and out of the town which cost 50 Dirhams each way which is very good value.

Cons: They were really helpful and friendly and nice, but there were nearly all the time couple of staff members making you feel as if you are their guest. The pool in November was really cold. Only take this property if you have rented a car.

Good location if you have car. Very good breakfast in very beautiful garden. The territory was nice and personal very kind! For one night ok.

Cons: The room for me was not comfortable: bathroom dark and completely non pleasant, the bed is uncomfortable. Generally the price is too high for this place which is outside the city.

It was very peaceful, like a little oasis. Sayid and his family really looked after me, I went to Essaouira for a horse riding holiday and every day they would see that I was well fed with a lovely breakfast, book me great taxi drivers and advise me on price, and even LUCKILY woke me up on my last morning so I didn’t miss my flight! It’s true Moroccan hospitality, always with mint tea!. It’s approx 10 minutes drive from the Medina, and has parking if you have rented a car, but so cheap if you need to get taxis in an out. And also very close to all the local stables in Diabet, I recommend Cheval Essaouira. I had a lovely Hammam in the onsite spa on one of the days and the masseuse was amazing. As a solo female traveller you can sometimes feel worried about your surroundings, you will not find that here. Thankyou so much Diad dar Etto, I’ll be back.

Nothing ti say, i spent two days in that riad it felt that i was in heaven. Only the sound if water birds and wind, mixed with the magnificent view of nature plus the humbled service of the riad owner and his wife made the best trip i ever made. Only one word to describe it : Moroccan paradise ❤️

Great location not far from the city of Essaouira and the airport. The room was really nice and spaceous. Garden, pool and sunterrace absolutely adorable. Really good breakfast, including eggs, bread, crepes, coffee, tea, orange juice, olives ... Everybody was extremely nice and helpful.

The traditionnel marocain breakfast was amazing. When we came in we were always welcomed by Sayeed and his wife with tea and a smile. On our last night we asked to have dinner at the Riad, so they went to buy all the fresh food to cook our home cooked dinner (lamb tagine) and desert for only 10 dirhams each. The hamam with the scrub is an amazing experience and is definitely worth every penny. The riad is not in Essaouira medina and you need a car, but that was no issue for us! Also, Sidi Kaouki is 30 minutes away and a beautiful surfers beach. Thank you to all the service you provided us with, it made an amazing stay.

Cons: Location will not be to everyone's liking as it's quite remote but it was not a problem for us.

Beautiful and unique looking property with a rustic vibe. Honestly, just gorgeous. The service was amazing and they always made sure we were fed and had plenty of tea to drink. The breakfast was fantastically delicious and the homemade cookies were to die for. Everything really was perfect and they went out of their way to make sure we were happy and taken care of.

Cons: It’s a little bit far (15 min) from the city, but it’s not a big deal as they’ll always get a taxi for you at a cheap price.

It was great there was a pool but the sun beds were up in the terrace and not next to the pool. Overall great exterior design. The breakfast was also good typical you can find in Morocco.

Cons: I wish the same effort in exterior would be done for the interiors too. It seemed a bit neglected inside. Electrical lighting levels inside the room were minimal. You couldn’t even find your stuff. The bathroom door wouldn’t close. Also every time we had a shower it would flood as there was no separation between floor and shower and if we would step in we created mud so not very pleasant. No bathroom necessities such as something to put our toothbrush in.

We were looking for a quiet Riad to rest and relax after many days of touring Morocco. The Riad met our expectations! It was quiet and calm. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfasts good. Although the photos of the Riad did not correspond to how it actually is, it is a still a cute and clean Riad whose owner and staff take good care of.

Cons: Although it is not difficult to reach the Riad from Essaouira, it is at least a 10 to 15 minute taxi ride from Essaouira given that it is outside the city. The taxi's will charge MDH 100, minimum, even if you try to negotiate with them. If you have limited time in Essaouira, it would be better to stay closer to the city.

Lovely place to stay. The staff were friendly. It was a quiet location but a real oasis. Beautiful flowering plants in the courtyard. I enjoyed the swimming pool but they emptied it the next day, so might not always be available. Our room led out onto the roof terrace which was lovely. A really nice stay. Room for 2 cars behind their gates so felt safe place to leave the car.

Loved our stay at Riad Dar Etto. We went towards the end of our Morroco trip for a bit of relaxation. The Riad itself is beautiful and the staff so accommodating and kind. Breakfast was great and the pool was lovely although a little chilly this time of year! It is about 15min drive outside Essaouira and this suited our needs for this part of the trip. The owners will arrange a taxi for you there if requested. We had a little trouble getting taxis back as drivers didnt seem that familiar with the area outside of the main town but always managed to get home. I would recommend using the hammam at the riad if you aren't up for going to the local ones! It was a great experience and we loved our stay.

Was a very relaxing environment. Really peaceful, and could've lounged around there all day (I did!).

Cons: To get into the room's bathroom, you had to bend down because the wall was very low! Bit odd. We also had to be tactical with opening/closing doors whilst using the bathroom, because there was one door into the room, and then one separating the sink area / shower room and the bed area. The actual toilet / shower area didn't have a door! Was fine, just a little awkward to have to close the door of the room when you wanted some privacy. One of the staff members was clearly sick, and I saw him coughing a lot whilst in the kitchen area and washing up the plates etc from our meals. Felt a bit nervous we'd get a cold!

Bihi, his wife and Sayeed were amazing hosts and very accomodating. Felt like staying at friends'. The place is quiet and peaceful, very relaxing. Facilities are basic but very clean and traditional. I loved every minute of it. I was invited to visit Bihi's family and was able to borrow his bike to ride around the village. Food was all made fresh and absolutely delicious. Wish I was staying longer. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxed place, head over to Dar Etto. Good WiFi as well both in the rooms and outside.

Cons: Location is quite remote but again, that's what I wanted.

The location is located in a slightly remote from Essaouira but it makes the place all the more special. It feels like a little oasis. The building is beautiful as is the garden. All spaces are nicely decorated. The room was big and clean and the breakfast excellent. The hammam is amazing.

Cons: Maybe the temperature in the Hamman could have been a bit warmer, but it didn't really matter.

wonderfully decorated Riad with small pool and nice garden, the owners were extremely helpful, with a wonderful breakfast. could even get a lovely Dinner upon arriving late. Situated a bit outside (app. 10 min drive to the City) of Essaouira, we definitely recommend a stay there if you want a quiet relaxing place close to the hustling/bustling City

Cons: no TV in the rooms, but sitting on the beautiful terrace in front of the pool made up for that

Cons: The Riad is in the middle of nowhere . I found it quite scary arriving there.I was assured by the owner I could get taxi's to and from Essouira very cheaply. It wasn't cheap and the taxis either had no idea of where it was or refused to go there. I had a scary evening trying to get back and then moved to another hotel.

We discovered Dar Etto on our recent family holiday to Essaouira. We were looking for something calm and off the busy path of the Medina in the middle of the city and we couldn’t have been happier. Bihi, Hinde and Sayeed are thé warmest hosts you could ever have, always attentive with a happy smile. The breakfast was delicious every morning and the meals we had in the evening with them were amazing. If you happen to be there on a Friday evening make sure you taste Hinde’s delicious couscous! The pool and accommodations are excellent and if you want a place that’s a calm escape from the Medina but close enough to to be there in 15min by car this is your dream spot. It’s also located exactly between Essaouira and Sidi Khaoiki so great for exploring around the region as well. We will definitely visit them again on our next trip to Morocco!

Cons: Everything was perfect! Nothing to complain about.

Een groene oase van rust op zo'n 10 minuten rijden van Essaouira. Erg mooie riad met veel buitenruimte, zwembad, twee dakterrassen en zeer vriendelijke eigenaar en personeel. Je kan je auto veilig binnen poorten parkeren. Heerlijk ontbijt met uitzicht op groene tuin met bomen, planten en zwembad. Zeer ruime kamer en zeer ruime badkamer met mooie vloertegels en lampen. Klein nadeeltje (voor westerlingen als ikzelf) was dat er geen deur zit tussen de slaapkamer en de badkamer, maar daar viel ook goed mee te leven. Heerlijk ontbijt elke ochtend met vers brood, crêpes, verse koffie, jam, honing, yoghurt en een eitje. Toen we aankwamen met onze huurauto hadden we net door een gat in de weg gereden waardoor onze velg flink ingedeukt was. Sayid bedacht zich geen moment en verving de band voor ons en liet de band/velg zelfs (bijna kosteloos) repareren, zonder dat we daarom hadden gevraagd. Erg attent en het scheelde ons een hoop geld. Al met al een erg prettig verblijf gehad.
