I am happy with my stay , I was really looking for a traditional Moroccan place to stay and Ryad Alya did not disappoint. The architecture is very traditional and I can feel the local tradition in my stay. They also served the best traditional Moroccan breakfast and Idris was so nice to wait for me for my late check in and also for providing me good breakfast himself. I recommend this place in your next trip and they also have a transfer from the airport or from the train to this place.

Ryad Alya is a beautiful classic property with a fantastic view of Fes from its rooftop terrace. Our room was huge and comfortable for our family of 3 adults. Close to the Souk and the Blue Gate. Great breakfast on the terrace. Highly recommend.

DARK. Our room was dark with only a small window to the exterior and poor interior lighting. The bathroom was also dark with poor lighting. The alleyway leading to the Riad has no lighting, we arrived at night and the alley was pitch black. We used the lights on our phones to help us find our way. The breakfast area was pretty and the breakfast was lovely. The staff was friendly, but could be pushy. I also did not like the spa services.

Ryad Alya was beyond beautiful. Our check in was handled by Houssen and I can’t say enough about how wonderful he was. He helped get our train tickets for the following day. He made sure we were happy and content with our beautiful upgraded room. He should be given every opportunity to advance in this profession. Houssen could teach a class on customer service!!

The location was really Nice, in the near neighbourhood of the Médina, but quiet. The staff was so helpfull, friendly, sweet and their english was very good. Excellent breakfast, all fresh, custom made and various. Very relaxing threatment in the hamam with relaxing massage! The only thing i van recommend the accomodation to do is upgrade their beautiful rooftop for relaxation moments, now there are only chakra, but a relax bed would-be so Nice to start or end the day! But we had a wonderful stay!

-Convenient location in the medina -Fantastic response for our many questions by mail before arrival – always kind, quick and very helpful -Warm welcome including mint-tea and cookies as well as all the helpful information about Fez -Beautiful Moroccan-style room with a big bath tub– we felt like we were in a royal bed-room ! -Nice breakfast with wonderful fresh orange juice -Good traditional Moroccan dinner on the roof-top -Arranged a very knowledgeable local guide for the medina tour– this is essential to know which shop sells good quality products and which are cheap copies from China. The guide also introduced one of the only 2 really great restaurants in the medina for lunch, serving the best lamb tagine. Overall: If we come back to Fez, we will certainly choose Riad Alya again. It is a truly wonderful and peaceful accommodation.

I can't say enough of how great was our stay in Ryad Alya. From Ahlam at the front desk and the rest of the staff, they make our stay very special. There is nothing they wouldn't do to make sure you have everything you need and/or want. if this is your first stay at an old medina, getting to your Riad might feel a little intimidated and maybe insecure, but once once they open the door is like entering another world, It is gorgeous inside and very comfortable and once you know the people you'll know that you don't have to worry. Especially for first timers, I suggest to go out with a tour guide, coordinated with the riad, they will take you every where you want to go and "translate" for you. I highly recommend Riad Alya.

Our experience at this Riad was exceptional. The interior decore was like no other place covered in all 3D plaster and wooden engraved doors, high ceiling, fountain and trees. Our hats to the chef as thr food was the best we have tried in Morocco. The people were very friendly and helpful.

Ryad Alya is perfectly located and absolutely beautiful. We booked the Ouarzazate room with twin beds and everything was perfect except for the beds that were a bit hard. Staff is truly amazing, really can’t complain about that. They’re really helped us and took good care of us. Breakfast is also very good and complete, we were never able to eat it all! The only negative thing was the wifi. I kept loosing it and it wasn’t always working. Otherwise I really recommend this place!

Absolutely the best of Fes and all we experienced in Morocco. Stayed 2 nights in beautiful and clean accommodation. Staff are charming and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and to assist in helping you enjoy your time in Fes. Have dinner with them as it was the best food we experienced in Morocco. Donna and I can’t say enough good things about Ryad Alya. Oh, and our ‘hamam’ was excellent as well. Stay here you will not be a disappointed!!

Although it was my first stay in my life, I am convinced that this is the best ryad in Fes. All staff is polite and kind. The room has well-balanced with history atmosphere and convenience. I was surprised that the floor was completely swept and cleaned even under the shelf. We used a hammam and massage service. I was very relaxing and the price was reasonable. Fortunately, we could participate in the New Year Eve party at the ryad. It was incredibly pleasant and impressed by the warm hospitality of the staff.

Amazing time here at the Riad. The staff were so friendly, and were very helpful. They arranged for us to be picked up at the airport (additional cost), and carried our luggage to the room. The Riad was beautiful and the room was as well. We enjoyed the dinner and hammam spa quite a lot, even though we thought it was a little more expensive. However, it was worth it because of the lovely staff and they had someone playing music for our dinner. Also, dinner is indoors during the cooler months so don’t expect to eat just on the terrace in winter. The best place we stayed at during our whole Morocco trip.

The Ryad is truly beautiful and has an amazing view from the terrace. The room was clean and comfortable, if not a little bit warm for my taste. The staff was incredibly kind and accomidating...almost to the point of being to much in some cases. I mean I knew they offered spa services but I didn't need to see the spa during check in. I think a do it yourself traveller such as myself is not their standard client and my only qualms with the place would be of that nature. That is to say I don't think they are used to guests who would rather just wander into the medina on their own as opposed to hiring a guide. In any every I was very happy with my stay and would go there again if I find myself in Fes again.

Beautiful Ryad with stunning rooms and decor. Really helpful and attentive staff but not overly, luxurious hammam and a great terrace view of Fes. This is a nice Riad and service is good. I did not like the Tanger room because it lacked windows which and light is important to me. Also, the bathroom is 19 steps up and inconvenient, both when getting ready in the morningand if one gets up during the night.

Nice Ryad, very grand central patio, huge suites (we stayed in the Rabbat), lovely terrace with old Fes views! Old architecture and furniture but completely renovated, modern bath.. Ideal combination of charm and comfort. Overall great experience, although some of the staff were a little pushy regarding guests' avail of their dining and spa facilities, which were quite a bit more expensive compared to what's available in the area. We had breakfast in the hotel but didn't try any mail meals or spa facilities.

The room was insane. Like, way too nice for the amount of money that we paid. If you have the opportunity to book the Casablanca Suite...you owe it to yourselves. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating, and professional. The terrace and location couldn't be beat. Was just out of the way enough to be quiet, but central enough to be right by everything we wanted to see. Great place, and I'd go back in a heartbeat.

The ryad is beautifully decorated w/amazing architecture and furnishings. At first the food is surprising and amazing but as the days wear on, not so. You never got warm enough, especially on the last night when the radiators were set on high but too no effect. The hotel is quick to arrange transportation and guides but buyer beware. A taxi ride to the train station cost 1.50 euros from the street when we obtained it but cost 15.00 euros the next day when the hotel acquired the ride for us, 10 times what we paid for it. Our guide through the hotel cost the same as others but then you had to continue to pay 1 euro here, 1 euro there and 1 euro just to have doors opened for you.

Jaw dropping is what happened when we entered this Ryad. We were met with amazing hospitality and very warm, caring staff. The garden area of the Ryad was incredible - tile work, carvings, fountain and orange trees transported us from the hustle and bustle of the town to the quiet and relaxing space in the Ryad. Although we didn't take advantage, there is a spa and the Ryad serves dinner too. Each morning, we ate like kings - lots of fruit, eggs, breads, tea and coffee. On the morning we had to leave, we left quite early and the Ryad not only arrange our transportation but also sent us on our way with a lovely meal to eat in the car. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean, well appointed with toiletries, hairdryer, towels, comfy sheets, free wifi, etc etc. We traveled with our two children and we shared a wonderful room together. There was a king sized bed, seating area, two twin beds and a large bathroom, and still plenty of place for our luggage and stuff acquired in the Medina. The Medina is very close and the walk is easy. Bank machine and other little shops just down the street if needed. Prior to the trip, I reached out to the staff at Ryad Alya and they were quick to respond and very helpful with suggestions and ideas for our time in Fes. I can't say enough good things about this Ryad!

We stayed for two nights. First of all Hassan and his staff are simply amazing. Their friendliness, service and hospitality are second to none. They all spoke such good english. Anything we wanted to know they were well informed. They took me to a private unground parking lot where we left our car for two days. I think it cost $3.50 per day. We were greeted by Hassan with a cup of fantastic Berber Tea. We ate dinner here and it had to be our best meal in Morocco. Tangine style of course. Food was excellent and lots of it. Breakfast was fit for a king. The riad is like a palace. It was easily as beautiful and ornate as some of the palaces we saw while touring Morocco. Our room was large, clean and well supplied with bathroom amenities. Riad Alya was by far the best accommodations and service we saw in our 3 week vacation in Morocco. Everything and I mean everything was perfect. I would never stay anywhere else when i return to Morocco. I would highly recommend staying here, for all of the right reasons. Location, service, cleanliness, food, comfort and price. This place is so amazing you'll walk away feeling like a king.

I cannot say enough about this hotel. It is in a good location but the service is what really stood out. The hotel is one of the most beautiful we have stayed anywhere in the world for any price. Ryad Alya was lovely! We stayed in the Ouarzazate Room for 4 nights, which was very nice. However, a note to couples - it is not a double room, it is a twin room with two singles at either end of the room. The room itself was big and clean, as was the bathroom. We had a few issues with the shower not having hot water (but this was mostly fine as it was so hot in Fes anyway). The staff at the ryad are extremely friendly, particularly Hassan, Enas, and Fatah! We were greeted with delicious tea and cookies upon arrival, so delicious that we ordered them on another occasion (for €6). Hassan and Enas even gave us a box of cookies as a leaving gift, as they knew we'd liked them so much! Along with the staff, the other great aspect of Ryad Alya was the amazing breakfast. We had such an array of foods (Moroccan pancakes, bread, cakes, yoghurt, eggs, orange juice, coffee, hot milk, tomato jam - which was very tasty - and more!) and so much of each that we never needed to eat until dinner! Thank you Ryad Alya!

We canot say enough kind or praising words about our stay here. It was magical. The staff- all of them, from the owner to manager to our day to day hosts especially Fatah- were the most welcoming, hospitable and caring hosts who guided our entire Fes experience. We dined in one night to a sumptuous and delicious meal. Breakfasts were superb. We viewed all the rooms and they are clean and meticulous. We also availed ourselves to a Turkish bath and a massage on premises that we are still fondly remembering. We cannot say enough about the Ryad and its people. Having traveled to 48 countries and stayed in everything from a Motel 6 to the grandest 5 star hotels, this is one we will always remember and cherish.

The ryad itself is beautiful with lovely tile and intricate woodwork. The courtyard is filled with trees and elegant furnishings. Every area in the Ryad that we saw was spotless day and night. Our room was lovely and the bathroom very modern and attractive. All of the staff members were friendly and helpful without being overbearing. The night caretaker Fatah, who also served breakfast in the morning, was charming and spoke fluent English and French (in addition to Arabic) and was a joy to be around!! He was most helpful in answering questions about the local sites and history of the Ryad. We would highly recommend Ryad Alya to anyone visiting Fez.

This was the best of the best. This Riad was the most beautiful and the best value for our money during our two-week stay in Morocco.
