The Kasbah is absolutely beautiful, cosy, clean and peaceful. We were looked after like we were family, and felt like we had entered an incredibly unique and special home. The food was also delicious and affectionately prepared. Compared to many places we stayed on our trip to morroco , Kasbah Ohlad Othmane was stylish, modern, and authentic in all the right ways. We would love to come back.

It is wonderful to stay in an authentic kasbah and the host provides a brief explanation of the history along with some tea when you arrive. Being an authentic restored building does mean that it is a bit dark in certain areas (especially on the lower level) and it is made of mud and wood (but covered in mats and rugs. Don't be put off by this, but arrive knowing what to expect. The dining area is amazing - it has low tables, cushions, rugs and tons of windows for the breeze to blow through. I loved the dinner and breakfast, and the staff were really welcoming and kind. The pool is a great treat.
Cons: I did need some time for my eyes to adjust to the dark and also to be able to find my way around to the different salons and the pool, but after a few minutes I fell in love with the vibe.

It is a very special place to stay! A nice experience for one night. The staff and the host have been really friendly.
Cons: The rooms did not have an AC, which made it difficult to sleep through the night by high temperatures. The bathroom was really small and the shower came first, so when showering and going to the toilet the floor was wet. The pool could use more comfortable chairs.

Simply Amazing! Absolutely astonishing hotel located in a historic kasbah. Everything there evokes a romantic atmosphere - adobe walls, Berber carpets, dim lights, tasty mint tea. The famous pool feels like a fairy tale. Breakfasts and dinners are exceptional. Probably the best food we have tasted in Morocco. It's possible to visit the unused part of the kasbah, which is also incredible. Kasbah Oulad Othmane is a must visit for all adventure seekers. Deffinitely worth taking a road trip from Marrakesh.

The Kasbah Oulad Othmane oozes ambiance. This kasbah dating from 1795 has been lovingly restored and is full of character. We were given a very informative tour of the place by Hassan. Views from the rooftop across the town and palmaraie were excellent. The chicken tajine we were served for diner was the best we had in Morroco. Breakfast was also excellent. You can take a nice stroll through the traditional earthen walled town and across the street through the refreshingly green palmaraie.
Cons: The rate for the stay was steep compared to similar accommodation eslewhere in Morroco. Our triple room had no outside window and was, therefore, somewhat airless. Next time, we would look more closely at the room choices. Some benches and wall hangings had nail heads protruding, which could tear clothing or skin. I suggest that the kasbah ownership pay attention to this.

The vegetable couscous we had served for dinner in the nice parlour sitting on cushions on the floor was the best couscous we had during our stay in Morocco. The clay buildings were beautifully renovated. Hassan explained us how these buildings were made and used in the 18th century. Very kind and helpful staff. We felt very welcome. The nearby idyllic palm grove is worth a visit although a big part of it has been abandoned and is now decaying.
Cons: The bathroom that was situated in the middle of our family room was small and smelly. There was only a wall reaching up to the ceiling between the big room (three beds) and the bathroom. On the other side the wall between the bathroom and the small room (one bed) was only about two meters high. So there was no possibility to keep the bad odors out of the small room. Additionally there was only a very small and poorly fastened wobbly space to put the personal washing utensils and only a bent wire coat hanger to hang up the towels. The intermittent traffic noise from the road Agdz-Zagora went on till late at night.

Hassan’s knowledge of history and politics was outstanding and his willingness to engage and share was most welcome, and he was always offering hospitality above and beyond what you would expect of a normal employee. He’s the biggest asset to the place.
Cons: The room had no windows to the outside, and when people were walking in the salon stuff would fall from the ceiling and into the bed so it felt prickly and there was a hand held shower only making it difficult to wash your hair. Because it’s solar hot water the water is hot at night but not so hot in the morning.

Hassan was outstanding, we learned so much from him. The pool is nice however it turns white bathers pink, breakfast was nice. The fan provided was very useful. The building itself was very interesting.

A night in a eighteen century kasbah is a real experience, one of the highlights of our trip. Everything is done to keep the atmosphere of the old kasbah intact, with taste and style. The staff is extremely nice and knowledgeable and very good in explaining everything about the history of the building. But rooms and beds are very comfortable too and the stay very pleasant. Excellent the dinner, one of the best tajines I had.
Cons: Just the bathroom and the shower were a bit run down and it is time to remake them.

Most special hotel stay I have experienced in my life, and was the highlight of our 10 nights in Morocco. To stay in a Kasbah from around 1750 and soak in the unique environment both inside and surrounding the kasbah was amazing. Hassan and Hassan was so welcoming introducing us to the place explaining the history and tradition. Food was amazing. The building and the view from it are absolutely breathtaking. Yassine could not have been more welcoming and helpful and the food was probably the best I had on my whole trip. The room was clean and comfortable. Have a few coons to hand when you arrive and leave as you will be pestered by kids asking for money.
Cons: The toilet in the bathroom was broken and the bed sheets were of a poor quality and produced more static electricity than a 1970s disco. If they could fix these fairly simple issues this place would be a definite 10.

Staying at this traditional Moroccan accommodation was an unforgettable experience, unlike anything I’ve ever encountered before. The entire place is steeped in authenticity, which made me feel like I had stepped into a movie set. The atmosphere was incredibly immersive, and every detail reflected the rich cultural heritage of Morocco. The beauty of the surroundings (the old village, the palm trees forest) added an extra layer of magic to the stay. The food was another highlight—absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The hospitality of the people was exceptional; they were incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment I arrived. ( We loved Yessin, he was so friendly and kind, give him a raise already haha). Overall, this stay was a perfect blend of tradition, nature, and genuine hospitality. If you’re looking for an authentic and unique Moroccan experience, I couldn’t recommend this place enough. It’s truly one of a kind!
Cons: The bathroom could use a little more cleaning.

We had a fantastic stay at this traditional family-run Kasbah and we highly recommend this place for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The host and all the staff were extremely welcoming and generous with us. Our car broke on the way to the hotel and the host and staff helped us find a place to fix it and negotiate a reasonable price (Ahmid even gave us oranges for our ride back to Marrakesh - we couldn't be thankful enough!!!). The room was cosy, clean, warm and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was home-cooked and absolutely delicious, with fresh ingredients. We also booked a dinner, where we had one of the best couscous of our 15-day trip. Even though we visited in early January, we could enjoy the sun and beautiful sunsets from the terrace! We wish we stayed for longer and will definitely look into coming back.
Cons: Nothing really!

A Perfect Moroccan Stay – Absolutely Unforgettable! I recently had the pleasure of staying at this incredible Moroccan guesthouse, and I can confidently say it was one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality, making us feel right at home. The rooms were beautifully decorated in traditional Moroccan style, immaculately clean, and extremely comfortable. The heating worked perfectly, and we always had hot water – an absolute luxury after a long day of exploring. Every little detail was carefully thought out, making our stay feel both authentic and incredibly relaxing. The food was out of this world! Every meal was a feast of flavors, freshly prepared with love and using the finest local ingredients. Breakfasts were a delightful way to start the day, and the dinners were absolutely delicious – a true taste of Morocco. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Their kindness and attentiveness made all the difference. Whether it was helping with recommendations, arranging transport, or just sharing stories, they made our experience unforgettable. If you’re looking for an authentic Moroccan stay with top-notch comfort, service, and hospitality, look no further. I cannot recommend this place enough – it was truly a dream come true!

This is an incredibly unique place. To be able to stay in a true Kasbah, surrounded by a vista of a palm filled valley, is a once in a lifetime time opportunity. The authenticity of Kasbah Oulad Othmane and the kindness of the owners and staff would have me coming back again, for sure. The food is excellent and overall value for money can’t be beat!

The scenery is amazing and the pool creates an amazing contrast with the surrounding old buildings. It’s an interesting experience to sleep in an old Kasbah. The staff and the owner are extremely nice and hospitable and careful with the guests.
Cons: I feel the need to point some essential details that made our experience not so pleasant. First and the most important is the lack of hot water for the shower. The water is lukewarm, and you can use it at best for washing your hands. Because of the cold it’s impossible to take a shower. The basic toiletries are missing. In our room the toilet was almost coming out of the wall when seated. Since is was cold outside, we were provided with a small heater which made things a little bit more comfortable during the night, but is the room is bigger it doesn’t do much. The sheets are extremely low quality and feel not clean even if they probably are. All of this details could be improved for a better experience.

Nice stay in an old world setting with great rooftop views. Spacious room (we were put in a triple room as an over-booking took our initial Double Room option). Hot water shower. The included breakfast was good.
Cons: Tagine dinner was good but overpriced in view of the actual chicken present; however, I suppose you pay for the ambience - off which, there's plenty, seated in the dining hall.

We loved the experience of staying in an 18th century Mudbrick castle. The pool was an aesthetic bonus but the real excitement came from the overall experience. This place is totally worth venturing a little off the beaten track. Incredible views of the mountain range and the villiage from the terrace. The staff were exceptional with Hamid joining in on our card games etc.
Cons: Pool is a little cold in winter but would be incredible in spring, autumn and summer.

The views are 360 stunning, over the village, the valley, the palm trees, and there are great walk opportunities. The staff is very welcoming, will make you feel at home immediately, and prepare delicious dishes! We highly recommend stopping over, and would have loved to stay longer! Thank you.

Staying at the Kasbah is like traveling back in time to when people were genuine and the world was not all about technology. We had the most magical stay, met some amazing people. From the very moment we arrived we felt at home, we were greeted and showed around by Hamid, who was so passionate and so friendly. It was the sort of stay that is hard to put into words. We were served some amazing food at dinner time, Hamid joined us for some riddles and chats. We watched the most amazing sunrise in the morning. The property itself is stunning, the most original place for a stay, but what really makes this place unforgettable is the people. In the morning we visited the nearby palmerie, if you plan to stay here definitely ask for a tour - we had the best time!

A lovely stay with exceptionally friendly and welcoming staff. As it is a proper old Kasbah you do need to be prepared for wonky stairs and no air conditioning, but if you choose to stay in such a building, that is what you expect. But then you're in a historic building in the middle of a proper Moroccan countryside down next to the beautiful palm grove. The swimming pool is beautiful as is the roof terrace and the food was all excellent.
Cons: Be prepared that there's no air con. But if you accept that, there's nothing to complain about.

Breakfast was amazing, the best omelette we had out of 2 weeks in Morocco. We loved the location, the almost 360degree view was incredible from the roof terrace. The staff were so friendly and really accommodating giving a tour of the date palmery and getting involved in conversations made us feel really at home. Very attentive.
Cons: We weren’t provided with a fan or a bin in our room so it was super super hot! Luckily we asked for one and managed to get one for our second night. The water and electricity was off for half of our stay which we know isn’t the Kasbah’s fault but it did make our stay a little trickier. The room also had no natural light/window other than in the bathroom, which looked out onto a wall anyway.

The kasbah is beautiful. The rooms are beautifully decorated. The pool is very pleasant on hot days. Good breakfast.
Cons: I didn't stay in the room I booked. I'm traveling with my children and instead of a quadruple room they gave us 2 double rooms. This is a big NO NO, especially when traveling with children. The heat is impossible. There is no air conditioning and the fans blow air as hot as a hairdryer. It's super uncomfortable. Irrespirable in the rooms. As a suggestion I think they should either add air conditioning or close it during the hottest months. Dinner very expensive for what was served - couscous with vegetables. They wouldn't let us stay after 11am even though it was 46°C in the street, there were no other guests and we were with children. That wasn't very nice of them.

Super convenient location and for an extremely good price. The view from the terrace is simply amazing!!! There is also a parking spot very close by. Overall, the place is authentic and worth visiting.
Cons: Unfortunately, during the night it was very hot in the room. The fan was not sufficient. The only window faced the inner court and the curtain was not long enough, so it was not possible to keep it open because otherwise passersby would see into the room - and with the heat inside it was impossible to sleep fully clothed.

It is located with views of Draa valley mountains and you can enjoy the sunset from the terrace. The food was great. The staff were friendly and nice.
Cons: The rooms are not well ventilated. There’s no fan or AC in the room. Our room had a window facing the lounge of the hotel so we had no privacy to keep the window open. There’s another window that we opened to get some air but we had insects entering the room through that. So all in all the room was super hot and compact, and we didn’t sleep well at all.

We would give 100 out of 10 if it was possible. The whole building makes incredible impression from the first second when you enter the main entrance. In each room we could spot the small details which created the kasbah’s style and vibe. We felt as if we got back in time. The rooms were clean and stylish with unbelievable view to the town, palm trees and mountain. Food delicious. For both dinner and breakfast we received much more than we expected. For breakfast apart from pancakes, jam & honey, bread and fruits there was also Tagine omelette with all the local spices (extremely tasty!). We do wish to come back with friend in the future. The location is amazing. You are in an old Kasbah, with a swimming pool which is very welcome, specially during hot days. The Kasbah itself is very authentic, so bear in mind the stairs are a bit uneven, the plumbing of the toilets may not be perfect... But all in all this has been one of the most mesmerising settings of our trip. The food is cooked by the ladies that work there (which are lovely) and is authentic moroccan (breakfast and lunch were very good)! P.s: you need to speak French to communicate with them because English is not spoken (not sure about the owner, because he was not there on the day). We stayed one night only, so we did not explore the Palmeraie that is across the road from the property, but it looked quite nice.
Cons: To my surprise, the room was extremely hot and so was the bed for some reason.. probably it was not kept aerated prior to our arrival (we were there mid September, which is still quite hot). There was a fan but it didn't help massively. Wifi was not available, so keep that in mind if you have no roaming data available

One of the best experiences we had in our 10-day trip across souther Morocco. If you want to feel like you've stepped through a portal and traveled back in time decades, this is your place. Abdel will take time to walk you around the Palm grove and oasis, one of the largest in Morocco, explaining you the issues they have with climate change, draught and the clever ideas they have to keep going. He might accompany you on a tour of the centuries old rammed-earth village (partially still inhabited but mostly in ruin) that sprung around his ancestors' Kasbah, which by itself is a work of art and one of the most authentic and impressive rammed-earth structures we saw in our trip. The mud 'castle' is covered throughout in ancient rugs, carpets and cushions, decorated simply but elegantly, probably how it was a hundred years ago. The photos don't do it justice, it has to be seen. The rooms are comfortable and clean and there is even a lovely swimming pool and a roof terrace with stunning views over the valley. If you're traveling between Marrakech/Ouarzazate to the Sahara make sure you stop here, at least one night, to add an unforgettable experience that will move you and touch you in the way that very few places can.
Cons: There is nothing I would suggest that needs massive improvement.

Cons: The hotel is next to the main road and next to a mosque, so quite some noise during the night and in the morning. This is a reclaimed, traditional kasbah with mud floors and walls. Meals are served in the traditional way, seated on the floor. And it is what is for breakfast and/or supper if you choose to have supper there. There isn't a menu so don't expect that. The beds are comfortable. There is a surprising level of hot water and the rooftop terrace is lovely- especially if you turn off the lights and watch the stars.
Cons: The continual and constant dogs barking isn't anything the owner can do but you should be aware of. It is definitely ear plugs for sleeping as the town's dogs will keep you up otherwise, if you have an exterior window.
