I like that it’s new, very clean, I like the decor and the staff are amazing!
Cons: I did not like the location, especially at night…there was a lot of garbage and donkey poop in the walk ways leading up to the door. It’s really deep inside an area that is not built up yet.

Loved our beautiful room, we had the deluxe suite. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. The Riad also had a beautiful rooftop which was a lovely spot to relax and have breakfast.
Cons: Can’t think of anything that we did not like about the Riad or our stay there. We did have to get up early (6am) one morning for a hot air balloon ride, and there wasn’t any hot water for the shower, but other than that all good.

Struttura molto curata e pulita.

This is a beautiful riad with friendly staff. We enjoyed our stay and everyone on staff was helpful and accommodating. The walk to the riad goes through some windy streets that are a bit dirty but feel safe. If you stay in the old city, this is a part of the experience. Once you get through the door of the riad, everything is very nice. We had 3 nights at the riad and would stay here again. The rooms are large and very nicely decorated. The food is good. We had breakfasts and one dinner at the riad. It is a short walk to the souks. There are places to eat nearby and lots to see and do.

The charm and beauty of Riad Hadika Maria is only surpassed by the wonderfully kind and helpful staff - every one of which made our stay a very memorable one! They know the city very well, and arranged daily excursions so that we could make the most of our visit to Marrakech and the surrounding areas. As well, we looked forward to the delicious home made breakfast outside on the patio rooftop every morning amongst cacti and singing birds, and where you could also spy wonderful views of the High Atlas Mountains. 10/10 - Highly recommended!!
Cons: Everything was wonderful!!

Brilliant stay at Hadika Maria. Our room was lovely, everything was clean & comfortable. Our room included a mini fridge, hairdryer, separate sinks (perfect for girls), complementary water on arrival , and aircon. We looked forward to the breakfast each morning with fresh coffee, juice, and preserves. All of the staff, including Muhammad & Amin, were very helpful and made us feel safe and welcome. We loved having mint tea after a long day, either sitting on the rooftop or our little balcony. Would highly recommend!

We’ve been travelling to Marrakech for almost 10 years, and stayed in various riads, but there’s something very special about Hadika Maria. We stayed before in 2022 and were so impressed with the location, friendliness of the staff and design of the bedrooms (oh and the delicious breakfast!), that it was an easy choice on deciding where to stay this time. The riad is looked after by Amin, Khadifa and Abdul who are all completely wonderful. We’ve never experienced such warm, kind and attentive care to such a high standard before in Morocco. These guys went above and beyond. On arrival, I asked if I could upgrade our bedroom to celebrate a belated wedding anniversary and they couldn’t have been more helpful, not least because it was a surprise for my husband. Amin and the team moved all our luggage to the new room, and bought us the most beautiful bouquet of flowers, AND arranged petals beautifully on the bed and tables in the room. It was completely magical. We cannot recommend HM enough to anyone who’d like to visit Marrakech. The souks and outside world in the medina is wonderful, full of energy and a little chaotic, so coming back to these guys and this beautiful riad was a treat. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the roof terrace is super special and the breakfast is out of this world. It’s a little gem and we’ll definitely be returning at the end of the year!
Cons: There was nothing negative about our stay. We had a fabulous time and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hadika Maria.

Super clean! Beautiful building, room and terrace. A haven of calm amongst the bustling medina. The roof terrace is absolutely gorgeous with plenty of beds and seats, and of course to die for views of the Atlas mountains. Amin and the team were help personified and organised anything for us at the drop of a hat. We’re already planning a return visit.
Cons: Nothing.

Absolutely stunning! A bit difficult to find, you definitely need google maps. But the room was gorgeous, breakfast - delicious, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive. The decor had a perfect mix of traditional charm and modern comfort, making the stay feel luxurious yet authentic. The rooftop terrace offered breathtaking views, especially during sunrise and sunset, creating a serene atmosphere. Although the location was a bit tucked away, the quiet surroundings made it a peaceful retreat from the busy streets. If you’re looking for a unique and memorable experience, this place is an absolute gem. Would definitely stay here again!

The Riad is beautiful. Very stylishly furnished and has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. The communal areas (courtyard, terraces) provided a great space to have breakfast, drinks and generally chill out. Our bedroom was of a very good size with a huge bathroom! Very clean and good attention to detail. The breakfast and when we stayed for lunch was exceptional- all home made by the cook Meena. Exceptional. The staff are truly wonderful, the female manager (sorry can’t recall name), she assisted us so much with bookings restaurants/taxis & making recommendations. Furthermore Abdul and Anil, looked after us so well. So welcoming and kind. The location is in a traditional area of Marrakech which we loved. A short walk to the Souks and Square.
Cons: Nothing at all.

The Riad is beautiful and very comfortable, and a haven of quiet in the bustling Medina. The jewel in the crown is the exceptional team of staff. The Riad was beautifully clean everywhere. Rooms were all so well decorated traditionally but modern. Good showers. The roof terrace was so amazing. Lots of different levels and so well furnished. My daughter and I had the house to ourselves which was a bonus but even if it was at full capacity you could find a private spot. All meals served on the roof top. We only had dinner there on our last night and wished we had eaten there more. Abdul treated us so well and made the evening special with candles and table laid beautifully. The food was so good and wine too. Breakfast again was delicious. Definitely go back again. Armine and Abdul were super kind and met us when we returned at night where our taxi dropped us off which was over and above their duties I’m sure!! and all of the ladies there made our stay perfect too. Thank you
Cons: We couldn’t fault the property and staff. Highly recommend. Also would be a perfect place to stay if enough of you to take the whole Riad

Nested away in a quiet area, the riad was incredibly charming and the rooms were gorgeous. You could feel the history and the moroccan aesthetic. The staff were extremely helpful and made our stay very comfortable. We would highly recommend!
Cons: The property is on the edge of the Medina area. If you are looking to be closer to the action, this place might not be for you. But everything was about a 5-10 min walk and the area was very safe and quiet.

Firstly the people, The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful starting with Amin, who greeted me upon check in, included a mint tea and Moroccan treats, and he helped me navigate via map to main square using landmarks on narrow alleyways, to Abdul for always greeting me with a smile and inquiry about my day to preparing an excellent dinner on arrival night and each day, a gorgeous breakfast and finally, Khadija who was so helpful with any request but especially upon check out and starting for porter and airport transport. The airport transfer was organised by the hotel and arrival is to nearby parking garage with a porter to bring you the last 5 mins on foot This is an experience and your first steps in the city are through what feels like a maze of busy alleyways is a culture shock and you come to a modest looking door of the Riad which make you question your decision making!! But once inside it was stunning. The bedroom was amazing as was the rooftop terrace where you have dinner and breakfast. Nearby, there are two lovely restaurants that I went to, Le Foundouk and Le Trou Au Mur which are 5 mins from Riad. This Riad is definitely somewhere I would return to stay if visiting Marrakech again.
Cons: I have nothing bad to say about this place and the negative comments from other reviewers were actually positives for me. This is a Riad is in the Medina so it’s not a 4 or 5 star chain hotel and direct access by car is not possible, you need to walk last 5 mins. The main square, Jemaa el-Fnaa is approx 20 mins stroll through the Souks which for me was a perfect start and end to each day. I also did notice that I did have to wait for the door to be opened occasionally, but I figured out that knocking was far quicker than door bell.

Everyone was so lovely. I loved my room. The facilities are very clean and the terrace is so beautiful. Hospitality at its best!
Cons: Finding the Riad was a bit complicated but once you get used to it, no problems. You also have to wait outside the door for someone to open and sometimes you are out there for 5-10 minutes before someone opens the door. This can be scary at night especially if you are a female solo traveller. It seems that this practice is common however so it’s a normal thing :)

The property is amazing and very well-maintained. The room and the bathroom were big enough and very well decorated! We were welcomed by Khadija with a cup of Moroccan tea and pastry. Not forgetting Abdelwahid, who welcomed us in the evening with a big smile and made us an amazing breakfast! The riad is very nice, with great vibe and service. The staff offered warm welcome and has been helpful throughout our entire stay. The pre-arranged transportation and guiding and baggage service from the drop-off location to the riad were extremely helpful especially during holiday season and after a long flight. The property has a nice roof-top to relax and see the stars.
Cons: The location of this property is not as great as we expected. It took about 6-7 minutes of walk, deep into the neighborhood with lots of turns, from the closeset drop-off location; and it was not easy to get taxi nearby. Walking to the souk or the main squre takes about 10-15 minutes ideally; however, walking in the night is more difficult as many gates/streets will be closed. During the holiday season, there are people approaching visitors to give wrong directions and ask for money.

-The Staff is very friendly and attentative, they help you with all your questions, they get 10 points from us. We have been told that the Riad is located in the oldest part of the Medina, which is more interesting. The Riad is very nice renovated, the roof top terrace offers sweeping views across the old city. The rooms are very well designed, everything is very clean. Everything was excellent from check-in to check-out. -The location is convenient for getting to many of the key city sights on foot without any trouble at all. The location of the Riad was hidden, but otherwise everything was perfect!, you need always google maps and a sense of orientation because you may get lost. Everything is within walking distance from here, between 15 and 33 minutes to visit most of the important buildings and areas. -Since we were not looking for upscale and expensive restaurants, we can recommend Dar Tazi (near the famous Foundouk), which is only a 6-minute walk from the Riad, a Lebanese restaurant called Naranj, and the very special Dar Cherifa, which is housed in the oldest Riad in the medina (1600). We had also dinner at the Jemaa El Fna, here we recommend the nr 32 and of course, you can just follow your instinct and have a mint tea at one of the nice places you see everywhere. -Leather accesories: we have been looking for many, many places in the souks and definitely we found the best quality at the “Ensemble Artisanal Marrakech”, it is located on the Mohammed V av., the are various Moroccan artisanal cooperatives which are dedicated to manufacture and sell their products here, you can see the artisans at work, it is about 10 minutes from the Koutoubia Square. We definitely recommend the shop number 14, (Maroquinerie) for bags and leather accessories.Top quality, finishing and prices.
Cons: t's not about something we didn't like, they are simply comments to help those who come for the first time. -Getting there: we booked the taxi service from the hotel, although it is more expensive than the usual price. After arriving by cab at a parking lot, luggage must be taken by hand cart (porter provided by the Riad) about 6 minutes walk away. It is a bit of a shock (and wonderful at the same time) for someone who has no idea what life is like in the Medina. But once you arrive at the Riad, it's a different story.:) You are warmly welcomed with tea and delicious pâtisserie. -To take the shower, be patient – it takes a very long time to get hot water, the water pressure is slow but it is normal in some countries. -This is a place to stay for people who have come to Marrakech in search of the traditional, and not the modern hotels. Remember it is like staying in someone's private home, Riads and Dars were family homes, this is not a luxury resort hotel (although the price is equivalent to a luxury hotel). If you are looking for "normal" hotels, you need to book outside the Medina.

From the moment we arrived Khadija took great care of us starting with a welcoming mint tea and pastries before we went up to our room which met all expectations other than the lack of a desk and a chair. It was also a little difficult for me to negotiate the traditional doorway and threshold that separated the bedroom from the bathroom since a bad hip made it difficult to get in and out without mishap. We had to call upon Amine to solve the mysteries of operating the TV but he soon had it up and running and all was well (without his help we would have just given up trying!) - written instructions would help! The breakfast was perfect- so many options brought to us on a large tray, with the option of having cooked eggs in addition, if desired. This was served on the fantastic multi-level roof top terrace which offers sweeping views across the old city. The location is so convenient for getting to many of the key city sights on foot without any trouble at all - until you enter the Souk Semmarine, the sprawling shopping area just North of the famous Jemaa El Fna square, when you need to have your wits about you, a compass app and Google maps (not as accurate in this labyrinth as one would like). We had top flight dinners at Le Foundouk and Le Trou au Mer, both about 5 minutes away and wonderful lunches at Le Jardin and Nomad, both no more than 15 minutes' walk away. But arguably the best meals we had for our entire stay were at the Riad itself, courtesy of their brilliant chef, Amina - three courses featuring delicious fresh Moroccan salads, followed by chicken and vegetable tagines, one night and an amazing lamb tajine with prunes the other. Desserts were just as good - crème brûlée and fruit tarts all for less money than the local restaurants. The whole staff of 4 people were so helpful and their English was good enough for us to get by with a bit of French as a standby.
Cons: The only setback was the impossibility of driving to the location which is at the end of a labyrinth of narrow streets so luggage has to be brought in by handcart (porter supplied by the Riad) from the nearest parking area, about 8 minutes walk away. When you arrive, absent any Booking.com photos of the exterior, it is a bit of a shock, leaving you wondering what on earth you have got into here! But once inside it is a different story. If you like baths, be patient - they take a very long time to fill with hot water sine the water pressure and the plumbing leave a bit to be desired. This is a place to stay for people who have come to Marrakech in search of the traditional, NOT the modern. It is like staying in someone's private home, NOT a luxury or resort hotel. If that is what you seek, this is not the place for you.

The staff were super friendly and accommodating. The place was very clean and breakfast was great! The rooftop was particularly beautiful. I recommend booking the transfer from the airport to get you door to door as I can imagine it would be hard to find otherwise (like all of the other Riads in Marrakesh).

Beautiful riad and a quiet oasis hidden away from the hustle and bustle from the streets of Marrakech. The staff really helped to make our stay extra special, such a friendly team that we won’t forget. Another favourite was the daily, delicious breakfast on a sunny rooftop!

This riad is absolutely beautiful. It is decorated very nicely (we stayed in the elegant Superior Room on the 1st floor). The upper terrace is delightful and spacious with lots of beautiful areas to relax. The staff are fantastic and so friendly and efficient. A great thanks to Khadija, Amine and Abdu for receiving us so well and giving us such a lovely stay.

fabulous location in the medina. Step through a door from a side street where local children play with one another and enter a wonderful riad; beautifully restored and extremely comfortable. the staff were fantastic, we were welcomed and told to feel at home. When we turned up on the doorstep with luggage three days after we’d left (trouble in translation about leaving luggage with another riad) we were welcomed like family and served tea. they then looked after our luggage for the day and organised an airport transfer. we really did feel like we were part of the family and would definitely return.
Cons: breakfast was pleasant but repetitive and a bit basic considering the room rate. evening meal was pleasant but expensive.

Khadija and Amin are amazing hosts. The communication was very good. They coordinated a wonderful city guide for me. The Riad is is into the Medina itself, so Amin came to meet me from the taxi and carried my suitcase to the Riad. Same when I was leaving Eiub carried my bags out and bargained me a taxi. The Riad itself is a litte jem, very clean and beautifuly designed in a mix of old and modern Morrocan style. The room is spacious with an AC. Bathroom big and very clean. Don't miss a dinner on the top-riof terrace - the house cooked tajin and food in general are delicious. Seriously, my best food experiance of my entire stay in Marroco.

The property is pretty and a nice rooftop.
Cons: Our time at the Riad was very bitter sweet. At first everything was okay and we decided to have dinner on the first night with them, however, this is when it started to go downhill. We went for dinner at 7pm where starters were given, it wasn’t for an hour later and we had to ask for the main course to come. Also, they say it is a 3 course meal but when we had to ask for our 3 section of the meal - desert where we were told us that he wasn’t told anything about it. Then during our stay later on, we had privately organised a transfer with a trusted driver of the Riad. We decided to cancel 45 mins prior to the pick-up and the driver had no issues. The manager of the Riad then messaged us at 11pm to say “why have you cancelled, he is already there” and further guilt tripping us into going. We then decided to go and then were told he had left. Finally, the biggest issue was faced on the last day. We had an early morning flight and decided to sort out our bill with the Road the night before. The manager wasn’t in and sent us our bill via WhatsApp, and tried to charge us extra for things we had paid already. This then turned into an argument, she then later realised after 1hr that we were correct. She also committed to taking a card payment without a fee on the first day and then went back on that on the last day which meant we had to walk 30 mins to the closest cash point at 10:30 PM and we had an early morning flight and ignored our plea to be accompanied to an ATM as we felt unsafe. Overall, the professionalism showed by the manager Khadija was extremely poor and rude. I would not recommend anyone to stay here from the way we have been treated.

First of all the staff are a credit to the Riad. Khadija and Amin in particular are a delight. I had a continuous dialogue with Khadija even before my stay via WhatsApp she helped me with all queries. On the first morning Amin walked me and my partner through the map of the city, which routes to take, where to avoid, recommendations etc which really helped! I got food poisoning on the last couple of days and was too ill to leave the room so they brought breakfast into my room which was lovely of them. The rooms themselves are spotless and well looked after, even the smallest room has so much room! Breakfast is served up on the roof terrace every morning which is gorgeous and all you need. We decided to get the dinner they offer one evening as we were coming back late from an excursion not thinking it would be anything different to what we had before - it was honestly incredible. I thought other meals we had here were good but this was some of the best food we’ve ever eaten, very traditional Moroccan food, would recommend that everyone orders dinner at least one of the nights! My biggest recommendation if you’re not planning on spending much extra money at the riad itself is to book an airport transfer to the Riad, as other reviews mention it’s awkward to get to (use google maps over apple maps and it should be okay though!) and it takes the hassle off finding a taxi driver as they have a sign with your name the riad waiting. Smart TVs in the rooms including Netflix (you’ll need a log in) which we didn’t think we’d need but you get so tired walking through the souks etc through the day it’s nice to finish the evening with a night in.
Cons: I stayed in the deluxe double room, the room itself was gorgeous and spacious, the bed was huge however slightly firm. The location of the room being on the ground floor also means you can hear a lot from the other guests outside the room and presumably they can hear in, might help if you get a room upgrade if that’s something you’re worried about.

Las habitaciones limpias y muy cómodas. Desayuno bueno.

Amazing small riad with excellent rooftop view to the Atlas mountains, very helpful staff, quiet and peaceful place to relax after all the souks and hectic streets of Marrakech. Lovely breakfast aswell. The only thing that annoyed me was the wifi connection, which was spotty and wouldn't work well in the room, but in my opinion that was good as it brought me out of the room out on the rooftop, will be back!

Just adored this place, only bad thing was not having more time there, truly felt like a princess in this riad suite. Cant believe how beautiful the space is and I have stayed at lots of other riads. Comfortable bed and living area is so spacious and like a museum. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Other reviews mention it being difficult to find and I do agree with this but honestly nothing is very easy to find within the medina. Would definitely return here and hope to do so when I have more time, would book for entire stay

Upon arrival, even though we notified the Riad and got a reply back through email, they were surprised and didn't have the room we ordered available. They compensated us by giving us a bigger suit, this was a big + The service was disappointing and the receptionist at that time didn't make us feel welcome. The Riads manager on the other hand was hospitable and sincere. Surrounding the Riad is a labyrinth of many small streets which can make it hard to find. As a tourist you get constantly harassed by Moroccan locals who want to show you the neighbourhood or the road for "Free", and then intimidate you into giving them something in return (payment) This certainly is no hotel but it's kept clean, comfortable and lies in the center of the old town. It gives a good Moroccan feel. Would recommend it when it's discounted or when you're on a low budget holiday.

Originally we had booked a double room but on arrival & seeing a suite we upgraded as much more space & we wanted to treat ourselves. The beds were extremely comfortable. The staff were incredibly helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, they would book Taxi's for us, organise us lunch, sourced a hairdryer for the day of the wedding & ironed our friends clothes. The free breakfast was amazing. We sat & chilled on the rooftop soaking up the October sun.

To reach it you definitely need a local guide, as no map being satellite or printed would help you /prepare what to pay him in advance and stick to it/, but once inside you can start relaxing and contemplating next time you go out, the riad will provide you with good idea how to get around, the rest is up to you following the small high above the narrow streets blue and red signs to the main square. The breakfast changes daily, diner is optional, but we chose to eat like the locals /at nearby market or near the main square/. The roof top is ideal for some relaxing time, reading, drinking sweet mint tea and soaking up the sun. Would recommend this riad to people not afraid to walk a lot and getting lost occasionally, as it is a fair bit away from the main square, the new town or any other places of interest, in a very quite part of the medina

The staff were very lovely and helpful. The breakfast on the roof every morning was lovely. The airport transfers were necessary, would never have been able to find it without being shown. 20 min walk to the square (if you manage to find the direct route that is!) 10 mins to the entrance of the souk. Excursions are cheaper if you book through a place in the souk rather than the riad as you can haggle and compare prices. The riad had wine on the menu but after an hour and half wait we were told there was none available.

This was a horrific 5 days stay. When booking for this hotel i saw "payment with credit card. Upon my arrival, i was asked to pay in advance for 5 days stay i offered Credit card then was told "machine doesn't work". the Lady asked me to get cash from ATM. i said i cann't do this, the she offered to take my card and get cash from friends, which i did and that was my mistake. guess what?, the so called friend gave her the due amount and overcharged my account with 28% of the amount (1900 Dirham instead 1500) which i immediately refused. she promised to cancel transaction. next day coincidentally I checked online my account and discovered a 2nd amount transaction (700$=6000 Dirham) which i didn't authorize. after showing her my US statement Both transactions from Restaurant Tazi she realized she is in trouble and tried to win time until i leave. it took 3 consecutive days of procrastination promising me she will return my money back (total round 900$). nothing happened, i threatened to call police, again nothing then i filed a claim at Morrocan Police department. The Police invited her (Mrs. Alexandra "french citizen")and obliged her to return all money back. which she did. Police report issued on Sept 16 2014 report number 1236 for verification

Stayed in the riad for 2 nights. Staff at hotel very friendly and helpful. Had arranged pick up from airport - they appeared to be late and the telephone number we had did not work - then it appeared that the man had been there all a long - if using this service I would make sure you ask for a description of the person picking you up. Riad would be hard to find if you weren't picked up. First night sleep was excellent. Second night - very noisy people in the riad. Room comfortable and very clean. Lovely hot water. Owner pleasant and helpful. Location meant walking through souks at night but this wasn't an issue as was with husband.

The place was very nice indeed and the plants are lovely but is being allowed to slowly fall to pieces. The new manager appears to have no experience in the hospitality trade and staff are not being supervised as they ought to. As per usual the devil is in the detail and the landlady does not seem to care. When something is being brought to here attention she improvises around it rather fixing it properly. Things that need fixing don't get fixed and it is beginning to show. There is no safe locked space to leave passports or luggage. I had the single room. Whatever you do, don't book the single room. The spiral staircase between bathroom and bedroom is very steep and unpleasant to negotiate at night in bare feet. The mattress is very tired and I wound up borrowing a pad from the seating area to sleep on instead. The plug in the shower is blocked and no effort was made to unblock it properly. There is no shower curtain and I was told to be careful "or there will be water everywhere" - obviously. There is no curtain on the bathroom window and it can be overlooked from the other rooms. I draped the bedspread across it. The wardrobe door and the door to the room both stick terribly and need force and a loud bang to open and close. There is no waste-paper basket. None of the lights in the room is strong enough to read a book by - single travellers with solo evenings to fill like reading books. Most worrying however is the attitude of the manager who doesn't care.

A lovely welcome from Alexandra and her team with mint tea and an introduction to Marrakech with maps and phone numbers of the night porter in case of difficulty. Lovely roof terraces to relax in the sun. Hospitable atmosphere. Wi-Fi was good in the room. Rooms clean and with a rose petal welcome. Water hot. Pool available to bathe in but didn't need it this time of year. I asked Riad Maria to arrange the taxi from the airport which was good value and meant I didn't get lost finding it amongst the winding streets. The road runs out about 5 mins walk away and therefore they arrange for man with a cart to take your luggage through the winding narrow passages to the Riad. It can be a bit challenging finding the square or your way back, even with the excellent instructions but I found the close proximity to the square and centre of Marrakech outweighed getting lost on my first night when I asked for directions and paid a few Dirhams to a willing guide. Perfect for couples or single men, a single lady might want to stay on a road with a taxi outside, although I didn't feel unsafe.

Fantastic price for a great room, with one of the best breakfasts i've ever had (everything was fresh and almost everything seemed home made). Abdullah was a gent and gave me a ride on his motorbike early in the morning in order to find my tour bus and booked me a taxi for the next morning to take me to the airport. The only negative thing i can say is that even though i'm usually quite good with directions and maps, i could not find the riad. Of course you can pay a local and he will bring you there (which i did twice), but it would be great if there was a diagram with landmarks that would be helpful. The google map offered is not sufficient. But everything else was great

The very proffessional and polite owner of the hotel lets you in with a smile and a wellcome cup of tea and sweets. The quality of the service could not be better, the cleanliness and the comfort of the room could not be better too.The swimming pool in the central yard and the decoration make the place more friendly, you feel like home. Breakfast very good. It is somehow difficult to find it in the small ruelles of the Medina but in that way you have the chance to find out a traditional neighbourhood of Marrakech

Think you're going to explore Marrakech at night??? Well, forget about it if you're staying at this Riad. The neighborhood was so incredibly unsafe that we were harassed to death, followed by shady people, and even had rocks thrown at us trying to find our hotel down the tiny alleyways. It is so easy to get lost that you end up having to pay someone to direct you back to your hotel, and a half dozen other vagrants follow you the whole way shouting things and harrassing you up until the door of the hotel. IT WAS SO UNSAFE WE PAID FOR BOTH NIGHTS, BUT THEN GOT THE HECK OUT ON THE SECOND DAY since I knew we wouldn't feel safe walking back to our hotel the next evening and none of us wanted to deal with it. To make things worse, the room obviously fit three people and I was more than willing to pay an extra person fee. Instead, they insisted that we'd have to buy an extra room for our party in addition to our initial room. It made absolutely no sense, and they were so incredibly rude about it that this hotel completely lost my respect. The woman was so incredibly rabid about paying for another whole-price room that it was obvious it was just about the money, not about the guests. Sure, the place has "charm," it's a cute Riad and the rooms weren't bad at all (kind of hostel-like in terms of fanciness), but the management and the nieghborhood were so horrible our bags were packed by the second day of our two night stay.

Very well appointed bedroom and bathroom, so surprised the breakfast was so average.
