This was a lovely find. Very clean and friendly Riad situated near the old palace. It was a good base to get to see some of the city and for trips to the mountains, desert etc. We stayed in July, so right in the height of summer, i.e., 45-degree heat, which was incredibly hot. We needed to book day passes for hotels outside the city that had swimming pools, which helped cool us down. Additionally, the Riad had a small spa on the ground floor and the Hammam massage was amazing!

The staff were kind and very informative about the area. The best from this Riad are the staffs, especially Louisa. The breakfast was quite nice. Also the welcome tea and cookies when we just arrived Riad from airport were good too.
Cons: The room we had was in the corner with twin beds, quite small, and the bed itself was short, making our feet outside the bed while sleeping. It looked like child bedrooms. The cat's smell under the bed was very strong, making it uncomfortable to sleep. There was mold in the shower room. The shower room/toilet was smelly too. The cats looked like stray cats and looked sick, and they were inside the Riad. When we had dinner in Riad, cats jumped in our sofa and wanted to steal the food from our table. It made us very uncomfortable. When we left, the cats immediately took the chicken from our table, and in the morning, we saw the chicken's bone still left on the sofa.

The property is very comfortable we really enjoyed the upstairs. Amazing breakfast and the staff was friendly
Cons: The Wifi is bad you can’t use in your room you need to go to roof to get good reception. I couldn’t use my laptop because of poor wifi. The room we were given was extremely small only bed ave a small bathroom no desk no seating area nothing like pictures. The shower fixtures need to be updated the water comes out like a hose not proper fixtures. The hotel doesn’t provide drinking water in the rooms so you need to buy and bring back to room to brush teeth. lastly on checkout we needed a cab to take us to train station staff wanted to charge us 16 Euros and said it would take an hour to get a cab. We stood on street waived down a passing cab and the cost was 7 Euros. Not a great way to let your guests leave.

The most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed at! Just everything about it was wonderful... The decor was stunning (I took so many photos as everywhere was so beautiful!). The (complimentary!) breakfast was excellent, and was always served with a smile in the gorgeous restaurant area. The location is great and we felt very safe. And such great value! There's so many lovely spots around the riad - whether it's cosying up a corner with a kitty, reading by the pool or sunbathing on the roof. We felt very at home here and did not want to leave! A special mention to all of the staff - literally every single staff member we came across made us feel so welcome. From reception staff, to cleaning staff, to kitchen staff. Everyone was so friendly, welcoming and approachable. Thank you so much for one of the best holidays I've ever had :-)

The staff working there are the best. They are extremely nice, helped us out with everything we needed and were really kind (also to our 3y old daughter:)). The place looks beautiful (like the pictures), the breakfast is delicious and it’s located in a quiet place in the medina (but a short walk from the busier part). Our 3y old loved the turtle and the cats. On our last day they even served us breakfast at 7 in the morning so we would be in time for our flight. We’d love to come back to this super special riad with all those lovely and kind people.

This riad felt traditional and welcoming and comfortable. Looking back on our trip as a whole, the staff here was exceptional and treated us like family, moreso than other riads we had stayed at. There were lots of common areas to choose from, an outdoor pool, and complimentary breakfast (which was delicious and they served us even when we woke up right as it was supposed to be ending). It took us a few tries to not get lost when walking to/from the riad into town, but it also felt safe and secure. I would definitely stay here again.
Cons: Its location was about a 15-20 minute walk to the big square and most restaurants, which can be quite daunting when you're new to the city and it's 100+ degrees outside.

We loved our stay at Riad Chamali. All of the staff were so welcoming and helpful - especially Hamza who sorted out lots of things for us to see and do. Including arranging a guided tour and booking a roof top dinner. The rooms were really lovely and the food was great. It was near to everything - just a short walk into the action but a lovely quiet place to retreat to when we needed some quiet time. Our favourite thing was the kittens!
Cons: The room was lovely but the bed was a little hard. I'm sure the staff would have sorted this for us if we'd asked. Otherwise, we loved everything about the place.

This was our third stay at this riad, because we like it for its peaceful atmosphere, food, and location. The staff who cook, clean and take care of clients are exceptionally helpful and friendly.
Cons: On this occasion we were unhappy with the fact that reception questioned our payment on the day before we checked out. This had been paid in full before our holiday. Fortunately, Booking.com's customer service was able to advise and reassure us that there was no problem with this.

The room was great and exactly like the photos. The staff was helpful and kind despite having to use google translate from English to Arabic or French. Also, good location.
Cons: It is not a quiet hotel. If you’re near the pool area, everything can be heard. At night, cats roam around and can make a lot of noise. Some guests stayed til late near the pool at night. Also during the day, a group of kids thrashed and made a mess around the pool emptying some of the water without any control.

Traditional humble breakfast on a cozy terrace. The room was super clean, amenities they offer were not so many but of top quality. It's located right at the corner of the medina, so we parked our car on the closest main street and went everywhere on foot. The staff was very friendly, they welcomed us with famous moroccan mint tea on arrival. Overall nice option for its value.
Cons: Cat noises become really disturbing at night, if you have a light sleep like I do you might want to bring some earplugs.

Loved the hotel and the location, the staff were absolutely amazing! And so helpful. Loved the hotel so much.
Cons: The room was dark (it did keep cool during the day which was great ) but at around 5pm it felt way too dark as it was on the bottom floor (could do with some new colorful paint, eg the beautiful blue they have in some rooms to add more brightness). They do have many wonderful rooms just our one wasn’t like on the photos.

Riad Chamali is a charming, traditionally and gorgeously decorated house. Attention to detail and colour coordination in every room and throughout. It’s peaceful and quiet, with the added tranquility of waking up to beautiful birds singing. I searched long and hard for a perfect little riad to stay in, and it exceeded my expectations. All the staff went extra miles for us to have a comfortable and lovely time, and they treated us like family. Achour, Hamza and Hamza are caring and warm hearted, and they are true assets to Riad Chamali. I also highly recommend to try Mama B’s cooking, she cookes with love and you can definitely taste it!! 🧡

My friend and I really enjoyed our stay at Riad Chamali. It was a 15-minute walk from the crowded and busy Jemaa el-Fnaa, which meant that our area was really quiet and pleasant. The beds were comfortable, and there was enough space for all our luggage (we travelled from Asia to Morocco so our bags were bigger). Breakfast is also provided, which was a bonus. The eating area also doubles as a restaurant in the evenings, and serves really great tajines and salads that are cheaper than some of the restaurants in town. Shoutout to the two receptionists, they were fantastic, especially Sa'ad, who was a really honest chap who returned us our money when he realised we overpaid for something. We really appreciated that.
Cons: The shower pressure could be better and the hot water was a little temperamental.

Located in a safe neighbourhood south of Medina, the Riad is quiet and not too far from the main street where you can get Taxi. It's a 10min walk to Place des Ferblantiers, and another 10 to the Medina. The courtyard and room are nicely curated. The staff on site are super nice and helpful to guide me to places to eat and tour around. The breakfast was not bad but not splendid - some bread & juice. The pool is nice and not too shallow, great for the scorching afternoon of Marrakech.
Cons: I'm working remotely during the afternoon/night so I really need stable WiFi. Although I've read in other comments that the WiFi here is one of the best in old town but don't count on it for stable video conference calls. To be fair, the room is also not hotel clean.

We had a wonderful stay at Riad Chamali! We were greeted with tea upon our arrival and given a map to help us navigate the main attractions in Marrakech. The Riad itself is picturesque but also cozy. We so enjoyed our Moroccan breakfasts each morning and we had a lovely dinner at the riad one night. The staff were so helpful, hospitable and always available if we needed anything. They also helped us to arrange a transfer by car to Casablanca. We already miss the city of Marrakech and our home away from home at Riad Chamali. We can't wait to come back!

Beautiful spacious Riad which is a wonderful place to escape from the busy Medina. In a good location near the Palaces and easy walking distance to the Souks. There is a lot of outdoor terrace space and a number of internal courtyards so loads of places to sit and relax. All the staff are very lovely and the food is good. Beautiful rooms. I would say this is a very nice Riad - and it could be an exceptional one with a bit more work on the little things and bit of increase in a more costumer facing service. That being said - the staff went out of their way to make sure that my husband, who can not eat gluten, was catered for. Thank you.

Lovely little find, the staff are very attentive, couldn't do enough for you. Rooms are basic but very clean and had everything you needed. Its a 15min walk to the main square but other main tourists sites are much closer. There were a couple of little things that needed fixing like the door handle and shower head, but this didn't effect our stay. Given the price we paid we felt it was very good value for money and would definitely recommend to people on a similar budget.

Best customer service we have ever encountered! The riad in itself is absolutely gorgeous, even better than the pictures provided. The room was very clean with a very comfortable bed. The amenities in the room smelled incredible. There is a sense of peace throughout the riad even though it is located in the busy medina. The terrace overlooks the Atlas Mountains and provides a space to sit and relax whilst enjoying the warm weather. Every member of the Riad’s team was outstanding, Hamza and Moutan ensured that everything we needed and enquired was met at a standard that exceeded all our expectations. The breakfast was refreshing and offered a mixture of Moroccan traditional items as well as the popular options of a European breakfast. We also dined in the riad on the first night, and even though our flight was late in the evening, the team arranged a lemon and chicken tagine with salad and cous cous that was the perfect start to our holiday in Marrakech (always with the company of the Riad’s cat, the beloved Chamali) A truly impeccable Riad with a team that complete the whole experience. We will definitely be returning as soon as we can!

Very basic rooms. No chairs or bedside lamps in the room. No wardrobes. No tea or coffee facilities in the rooms. Extra charges everytime tea or coffee requested outside of breakfast. Same breakfast daily - not much choice

Riad Chamali is conveniently located at about 10 minutes walking time to the Jamaa el-Fnaa main square of the Marrakech medina. The place is very well maintained, looking very good. The staff is incredible polite and helpful. Mouta, the manager, speaks perfect English so it was very easy for us to have all our questions and requirements fulfilled. Breakfast was always on time and delicious. We ordered dinner for the night before we left and it was incredible good. Mouta helped us a lot with useful and precise information about the city, the places to go, the approximate prices of all the things we wanted to buy and everything needed for us to be safe and enjoy the city. Staying at Riad Chamali made our visit to Marrakech the best experience we could expect, we felt always safe and cared for like with our family.

Great spot and very relaxing! Recommend you have them pick you up at he airport otherwise you will never find the place through the maze of alleys. Walking distance to all the places in the medina.

The Riad is very well maintained and the rooms are very traditional and clean. The staff is humble and very helpful. Even with our language barrier, they were very accommodating. Breakfast here is delicious and so is the three course dinner. We preferred dinner at this Riad over many restaurants in Medina. The manager made us reservations to an amazing Hammam and to a local restaurant. Will definitely return here and will recommend Riad Chamali to friends and family.

We stayed there for one night and we enjoyed it very much. The hotel staff was very helpful and extremely friendly. The riad is very quiet. The hotel facilities are very nice and the terrace on the roof is something very special. The breakfast was incredible. The riad is a little tricky to find, but the hotel staff is picks you up and takes you to the main street. It is very close to the tourist attractions of the old city of Marrakesh.

A great place to stay in Marrakesh as you are close to the centre of the Medina but the Riad itself is very quiet and gets you away from the hustle and bustle of the Medina for a rest. Very clean and well run and the staff are lovely.

This place is okay. Wifi is spotty and it's not located in a super great area. Clean, but staff doesn't speak English super well. They didn't explain anything to us upon arrival about the city, etc. The restaurant is overpriced and breakfast was sparse. Also we had a heater in our room but it didn't work so we were chilly all night.

The Riad Chamali was an amazing oasis in the middle of Marrakech! The hotel was fantastic and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Moutaa the owner went out of her way to help us and make sure we enjoyed our stay. The room was very clean & the breakfast each morning was lovely - we especially enjoyed having breakfast cake each day! I had a cookery lesson at the Riad was was shown how to make a variety of starters and a very tasty fish tagine. Would definitely recommend this Riad!

We had such a lovely stay here. The staff were exceptional, I have never been treated with such care and kindess. It truly made our trip. We ate at the riad 2 nights out of our 4 night atay and both were some of the best meals of my life. The hotel is stunning and immaculate with many areas to lounge and relax away from chaotic Marrakech. You can sunbath on loungers on the roof and enjoy meals overlooking the pool. The only thing I would mention is the drain in the bathroom in our room had a bad smell. I'm not sure if this is something that can be fixed or if it's a general issue in Marrakech. Also don't expect to swim in the pool, it's pretty small and because it's in the courtyard it doesn't get much sun making it icey.

Wonderful place. Staff constantly surprised us and were extremely helpful (exceeded our expectations by a wide margin). Riad was beautiful, and that was in "winter" - can't even imagine what it would be like in spring/summer. Would not hesitate to recommend for a second. Thank you!

The hotel is impeccably clean and charming. Moutaa and her team will make you feel at home the second you walk in the door. She even helped us book excursions from Marrakech and taught us how to bargain like local. Eat at the hotel for dinner at least once -- it is a meal you won't forget. Book now -- I won't stay anywhere else in Marrakesh after experiencing the Riad Chamali.

We had a warm welcome, and everything about our stay was great. Very caring staff available at all times to take care of us, nice and intimate Riad in the middle of the Medina. Breakfast was also nice. Great value and would definitely consider returning or recommending it to others when going to Marrakech.

Lovely Riad with very friendly, professional and helpful staff. Breakfast nice and filling consisting of selection of pastry and jams and fresh orange juice. Dinners were very delicious!! Trip to Ouarzazate was spectacular, organised through Riad by Mutta (lovely and always willing to go beyond her duties manageress). We had a wonderful time, stayed 9days at the Riad and would definitely recommend it.

We (3 women in the forties) spent a week in Riad Chamali in March 2012. The woman who runs the hostel and all of her staff are very friendly and service minded. No one of them speak any english but, with hand gestures and guide books (to point in) we were able to get help from her regarding restaurant reservations and places to go. The breakfast up on the terrace is really nice with freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee, tea, jam, sponge cake and fresh fruit. The common areas are really nice with two small inner court yards (one with a small pool), the terrace and a small lounge with a fire place We had a room on the ground floor which was quite dark and a bit damp, but I assume that the houses are designed to cope with heat rather than cold and since we were there in March I guess it is to be expected. The electric radiator that we had in the room was functioning well so we did not freeze. The hostel is located in a maze of alleys and it is quite hard to find it when you first get there, but all the taxi drivers (and we) got good help from the locals who are more then eager to help and they will get you to the place safely. The place is located approximately 15-20 minutes walking distance from Djemaa el fna and the souks. I can recommend staying at Riad Chamali if you are looking for a good priced and friendly place to stay.

Dropped off by a taxi as close to Riad Chamali as was possible, local children rushed to direct us and its true to say we didn't have a clue where we were headed, except down darkened alleys. We saw a hand-scrawled sign saying "Riad Chamali", rang the doorbell expecting 'Lurch' to open it! Behind lay a peaceful haven of calm and tranquility. Exactly what we expected from a Riad: a small plunge pool, orange trees, cute room (ours had an ensuite shower ), a super roof terrace where we took breakfast under the sun, the snow-capped Atlas Mountains in the distance. We can't praise Marina (French), the Riad Manager, highly enough. She was a wonderful host, advised on prices to pay for goods/taxis, etc, gave brilliant restaurant/club recommendations, made reservations and organised taxi's. Nothing was too much trouble. Mustafa and the rest of her team were equally helpful and pleasant throughout our stay. Once you get over the fact you think you are never going to find your way to or from Riad Chamali again you realise you are very close to the Palace and local square which has the Kosybar (chilled out venue with lovely roof terrace) and the Tanjia restaurant (great food and stunning belly dancing). It is a 15-minute direct, unhurried, walk to the main Fna square and the Souks, and, at the end of the day, it was a relief to back in the peace and quiet of the old town and in the haven of Riad Chamali. We are definitely going back. (Ability to speak French helpful here).
