Staff gentile, camera carina, bagno super!

We loved the oasis of calm with the beautiful little pool. The riad is beautifully decorated with Moroccan art and sculptures. The room was perfect with a lovely outlook over the central courtyard. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond with advice and organisation to make our stay extra special. It was my partner's birthday and they'd decorated the room and provided us with birthday cake, music and singing on our arrival. We would 100% stay here again on a return to Marrakech.

Absolutely loved our stay at this charming riad in the heart of the Medina. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome — nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented each morning. The location couldn’t be better, just steps away from all the sights yet perfectly peaceful once inside. A true little bubble of calm in the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. Highly recommended!

L'ensemble du personnel est vraiment au top : très professionnel, disponible, accueillant, très attentionné, chaleureux. Le Riad est magnifique, décoré avec beaucoup de goût et très chaleureux. On s'y sent extrêmement bien.

We absolutely loved Riad Pachavana the moment we arrived we were met at the Taxi by Ahmed who took our suitcases whilst we walked to the Riad . Once inside experienced an oasis of calm we were welcomed with mint tea the manager Khamissa checked us in and gave us maps and great advice on where to go and what to see . Our room was lovely and we had the best sleep in the most comfortable beds with crisp white bed linen . Our meal was lovely on our first evening. Throughout our stay we could not fault this hidden gem a big thank you to Khassima Ashraf Ahmed Abdul Joudia & Fatima they could not do enough for us . Breakfast was plentiful fresh and varied served on the roof terrace each morning . We would definitely return to Riad Pachavana and would like to thank all the staff who made our stay memorable!

The staff was lovely. They helped us with activities we wanted to do in the city. They also helped with providing drivers of their trust to take us to different places. The breakfast was really good, freshly made and no processed foods involved. The room was also nice and cleaned and the location itself is as good as it gets.

Cons: Honestly nothing comes to mind. It would have been nice to be informed of the tourist taxes that we have to pay as we didn't expect it to be so high but other than that nothing to report.

Staying at this Riad was an absolute dream. Tucked away within the bustling Medina, it felt like stepping into a peaceful sanctuary the moment we walked through the doors. The contrast between the lively streets outside and the serene, beautifully decorated courtyard inside was nothing short of magical. The staff were incredibly welcoming and warm—genuinely attentive without being intrusive. Every interaction felt personal and sincere, which made us feel right at home. Our room was tastefully decorated in traditional Moroccan style with vibrant tiles, soft lighting, and comfortable bedding. The attention to detail was evident everywhere—from incense sticks on the table to fragrant toiletries. Breakfasts on the rooftop terrace were a highlight: fresh fruit, warm bread, jams, and the most delicious mint tea... We also appreciated how the Riad balanced authenticity with modern comforts like air conditioning, and hot showers—all while maintaining a very local, artisanal feel. We would return in a heartbeat and recommend this Riad to anyone seeking a true Moroccan experience with warmth, charm, and tranquility. An unforgettable stay that made our visit to Marrakech truly special!

Cons: If there’s one thing to note, it is that at times the atmosphere was less tranquil due to noisy families with young children. We were lucky as we only had to put up with it on the last day of our stay. While understandable, it did take away slightly from the otherwise serene and romantic ambiance. I believe this Riad would be even more perfect as an adults-only retreat, ideal for couples and solo travelers seeking peace and quiet.

You approach the Riad through narrow streets and enter through a huge wooden door into a amazing space which contains a small spa pool and lush green plants. Its really welcoming after the drive from the airport. The room we stayed in was Beautifully decorated in traditional Moroccan style, huge walk in shower, private enclosed outdoor space. Breakfast was served between 8-10am on the rooftop with a choice of seating areas both covered and open space. We had a slightly different breakfast each morning the selection was brilliant and plentiful. Staff where really accommodating, couldn't do enough to ensure you were happy.

Cons: No facilities in your room to make a hot drink when you awaken. No fridge in the room to store cold water. I guess this might be one of the things that makes staying in a Riad different to staying in a hotel room.

Riad Pachavana was a good distance from the airport, costing about 80D day or 120D night. Taxi will drop you at road derb lamsaubr, then its 2 minute walk down that alley and riad is on the right. Feels safe in that area at night. We had junior room on first floor and it was quite and clean. They have aircon for heat as March morning and evening are cool. We loved the big bath, as my daughter could splash in it. The outdoor pool is not heated, so no one used it. Breakfast had limited vegetarian options-bread, cheese, fruit salad, olives. sim card shop round the corner on rue gza, going right there was Good vibes coffee shop for plant based hot drinks, going further 8 mins was veg friendly resturants- Broc the Kasbah and opp is simple resturant which we loved and further 5 mins is Kui-zin buffet with veg options. Secret garden and bacha museum were 12 min walk but jemaa alfnaa is 20-25mins. Marjorelle gardens is a must see and is walkable 15mins (book few days ahead). We liked our location if you like walking and it was child friendly.

What a wonderful calm tranquil Riad in the heart of the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh. It was everything we wanted and more! Beautiful breakfasts, lovely rooms, such a gorgeous setting with little areas to sit and chill. A lovely roof terrace for a bit of sun or you could sit in the cool areas around the pool. Wonderful location as we could walk to the souks, YSL museum & gardens etc. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful, thank you for a wonderful stay! ❤️

Cons: It’s a shame that the Riad didn’t serve alcohol but I think that is the case with most of Marrakesh. There are a few restaurants around that do. Although the hotel does serve alcohol free wine.

The staff were friendly and felt sorry for us

Cons: The conditions do not match the description provided on your platform. Specifically: The room is not clean. Stained, dirty rugs and dirty seating. There is no Wi-Fi in the room despite it being advertised. We had a leak in our room water on the floor The heating is insufficient, and the room is freezing. We Had to sleep with jumpers, leggings and socks on. They told us that the A/C would warm the room in an hour, nothing we called the staff member back and he said it was not working, sorry. We met a couple staying in the property in the morning and they too said they were very uncomfortable and extremely cold and slept with their outdoor clothes on at night. The hot water runs out after one shower. This stay was intended to celebrate my mother who turned 78 and my sister’s 35 birthdays, and it has been very disappointing. The only nice thing was the staff that worked there, so wonderful. We checked out after 1 night, we were due to stay 3 nights. The owners refused to refund us.

Family trip to Marrakech. The location was nice, it's an 3 min walk off a busy street but on the quieter side of the Medina. A 15-20 min walk from the main square in one direction and a 15-20 min walk to the new town and Majorelle Gardens in the other. The hosts were great, they arranged a taxi to pick us up at the airport and then met us in the Medina to walk us to the Riad which I'd highly recommend. We had dinner the first night at the Riad, a good chicken tagine. After a long day of travel it was nice to not have to leave to eat. We spent 4 nights so Breakfast everyday could have used some variety as it was repetitive.

The staff were really kind and helpful. There was always someone available 24/7.

Cons: The bath tub in our room (Perle) flooded; the water didn’t flow properly and it felt like raking a shower in a pond after the first couple of minutes in the shower. It would be nice if the breakfast had more fruit and protein options (like boiled eggs).

Staff are brilliant - Yusuf and his colleagues were very helpful: organised an online map of the city, transport, everything. Without their help, I don’t think we’d have got round the city easily - Marrakech is a crazy maze. Commendable. Breakfast was fine, if a little chilly in the open in January!

Cons: Minor issues - curtain rail fell off, toilet rather exposed…

In our opinion Riad Pachavana is the perfect Riad for a stay in Marrakesh. The location is perfect to explore the Medina, the breakfast is amazing and the building is enchanting. I can highly recommend this Riad and I would book it again if I return to Marrakesh one day (hopefully soon!). The staff was very friendly. Big thank you to everyone and especially to Ashraf and Yussuf who supported us during our whole stay.

Other Riads give you a feeling of being at someone’s home, almost as if you were visiting friends in Marrakech. Pachavana, whether intentional or not, has a bit of a hostel vibe - and if you’re into that, then this would be a great place, eg to meet other guests while hanging out in the common area.

Cons: We stayed at several Riads and they usually give you this feeling of arriving at home and being super welcome. Some even said “this is your home”. We didn’t ever get this feeling at Pachavana, especially not upon arrival. For example, at other Riads they give a tour of the house, but in this case they just took a pic of our passports, gave us the WiFi password and pointed us to our room. We had to figure out ourselves where the breakfast is served, where the hamam is, etc. - Also, I experienced other Riads to also be a bit rustic at times, but at Pachavana there was just too much that’s not working: the sink didn’t drain, the toilet seat was broken and moved around, the safe didn’t work…

Peaceful, beautifully laid out Riad with a swimming pool and hammam/massage services available in house. The staff were friendly and the hospitality was brilliant. The room itself was spacious and private. Breakfast was tasty. A really lovely stay, thank you!

Cons: Not much negative to say; if being picky, the shower was not very good and in fact there was no water when we needed a 6am shower (ahead of an early tour pick up). Location is not bad at all and is very peaceful, but be aware that any taxis/transfers will drop you off a few minutes away from the front door so be sure to have loaded up the route on your phone before being dropped off.

Our stay at this riad was truly delightful—cozy, welcoming, and full of charm. From the moment my husband and I arrived, we were greeted warmly by Ashraf, who went above and beyond to make us feel at home. He provided a city map, offered great recommendations, and shared valuable insights—something we hadn’t experienced anywhere else during our travels around Morocco. His kindness and dedication to excellent service made all the difference. The riad itself is wonderful, with spacious rooms that are beautifully designed, especially the unique and authentic bathrooms. The entire staff contributes to the warm atmosphere, handling everything from cooking to cleaning with care and attention. Our room was spotless and cleaned daily, which made our stay even more comfortable. We also loved the breakfast area on the roof—it’s the perfect spot to start the day. The riad’s location is ideal, close enough to walk to the main attractions but far enough to escape the hustle and bustle of the souq. We had lunch/dinner there once, and the food was delicious, prepared with heart. Overall, our experience wouldn’t have been the same without Ashraf’s hospitality, making our stay truly memorable.

Cons: While our stay at the riad had many positives, there were a few drawbacks that stood out. Firstly, I would not recommend staying in any of the ground-floor rooms, as they tend to be noisy and lack privacy. Secondly, I believe the riad would benefit from additional staff, especially when they are fully booked. Breakfast service was notably slow, even though the offerings were simple and mostly ready-made. While Ashraf was quick and efficient when present, the rest of the breakfast service often lagged, and it became a common topic of conversation among the guests. On one occasion, we were forgotten entirely and had to wait nearly an hour before going to the kitchen ourselves—highlighting the need for more staff, as those on duty were stretched too thin. Lastly, we decided to try the Moroccan bath, but it fell short of our expectations. Although we appreciated the effort and kindness of the lady who helped us, it felt more like visiting a basic local hammam. Despite being told that someone would be brought in specifically for this service, it turned out to be one of the riad’s cleaning staff. The hammam facility and massage table were not up to standard. I would suggest that the riad either upgrade this aspect of their service or consider discontinuing it altogether, as it left us feeling disappointed.

Lovely place to stay! Very very lovely staff! Great location, gorgeous Riad, nice breakfast, large bed! I would happily stay at Riad Pachavana again! The property has a lovely terrace area with lots of seating options. I can’t speak for the pool as I didn’t go in but it looked lovely! They even let us stay past check-out in the Riad communal areas due to a late flight! I also highly recommend the airport transfer as it stops you getting lost on your initial visit. There is also a family of lovely cats who live outside the Riad door!!! Some previous reviews spoke negatively about the breakfast but me and my friend were very happy - lots of variation.

Cons: I did not necessarily love how the bathroom has a decorative design feature meaning decorative gaps above the door ! However this isn’t a reason which would put me off returning !

We loved our stay at Riad Pachavana last week. 3 nights in this beautifull Riad. The driver of the Riad has waited a long time for us at the airport due to the long Passport controls, and brought us to the riad, so nice. Our room for 3 persons (Onyx) was very big and beautifull, the (much needed) airco works very good and the wifi was perfect. The very cold swimming pool was great after a warm and hot time in the city. Drinks (soda, beer, wine) was available. When we were very tired after an early flight it was no problem to eat dinner in the Riad. There are several beautifull spots where you can relax and chill in the Riad. The staff is great, very friendly and nice to us and with our boy. When we departed very early the made an early breakfast for us, very nice. The location was perfect for us, a 10 minute walk to the medina and some nice restaurants (Le Jardin, Atay Café). Pikala Bikes, for great bicycle trips are around the corner. We would recommend Riad Pachavana to everybody and we will defenitely come back. With love from the Netherlands.

Cons: Some points of attention; glasses and cutlery not always very clean. Cork in the wineglass and the waterpressure of the shower sometimes very low. An Egg, some cheese, and tea for breakfast would made it perfect, we missed this now.

The Riad is beautiful. It is set within the medina and only a few hundred metres from the busy souks. However, behind the huge wooden entrance door, the property really is a haven of peace and tranquility, the perfect place to rest and recharge after visiting the incredible sights Marrakesh has to offer. It was so nice to be surrounded by bird song! There is a gentle informality about the place which is down to the fantastic staff team who make you feel like you are one of the family and that this is your home, whilst at the same time allowing you the space to relax and chill. Our room was spacious with a really nice shower room. We were on the first floor. Air conditioning worked well. Everything was very clean. The small pool is delightful. It was the perfect way to cool off during the heat of the day. (Whilst we were there, daytime temperatures got above 36 degrees!). The seating areas around the pool and on the roof top terrace allow for space to sit whatever the weather and staff were available to serve a glass of wine , beer or soft drinks when required. Breakfast was particularly lovely, served on the upstairs terrace. Khamissa and Ashraf were incredibly helpful; providing advice about places to visit, restaurants and travel information. Khamaissa is also a talented henna artist!

Cons: In some respects, the room / property was a little run down but this, in no way, spoiled the break and if anything added to the charm! Nothing to do with the property, but if this is your first trip to Marrakesh, ensure you are at the airport PLENTY of time before your return flight. We arrived approx 2 and a half hours before our flight time and barely made it with over 15 people missing our flight! This is down to a lot of queuing for each of the security aspects. Not a problem; just something to factor in!

They were always helpful and trying to make our stay and trips around the city as easy and comfortable as possible. At one point my shower head fell off the wall and it was fixed instantly. Because of the hospitality we received we had a truly memorable time in marrakesh. The staff were the best thing about our whole stay in Marakesh. They were very accommodating, gave us tips even if how to deal with the locals , where are the places to visit etc. we came here during Ramadan and were fasting, they made sure that we have a delicious iftar every day. We can’t thank “khameesa” enough. She was amazing always attentive to every detail and was a great factor in enjoying our trip. The kids loved the little swimming pool. The place is quiet and we could reach every sightseeing we wanted like madras bin yousef, the souqs , main mosques on foot.

Cons: I have to emphasize there wasn’t something we specifically didn’t like . We had a big r ice room which had an air conditioning in the hot days which was perfect. Recently stayed for 4 fabulous nights at the riad with my husband. Achraf was very helpful and the manager Khamissa was exceptional and gave us so much help with local knowledge and advice. She even personally decorated our bedroom for our anniversary! The room was comfortable and the breakfast was great. The weather wasn't kind to us so unfortunately we weren't able to make use of the loungers on the roof terrace but we will be back! The hairdryer broke and they replaced it straight away. Lovely toiletries and bath robes. Khamissa gave us a map and recommended an app to prevent us getting lost in the medina. It was in a great location, only 10/15 mins to the main part of the medina. They also arranged transport to and from the airport for us. We thoroughly recommend Riad Pachavava.

Cons: The only thing to mention is that It would have been nice to have some tea/ coffee making facilities in the room.

Authentic Riad set in a very local area. Comfortable and peaceful. Amazing views from the roof top terrace.

Cons: Lack of general information about what the Riad offered eg menus and how to get drinks. Had to ask about changing money - just thought this would be written down somewhere as there wasn’t always someone around to help. Check in was slow and guests don’t get a front door key which felt strange so the door was constantly being knocked and staff didn’t answer it very quickly to let guests in.

The staff were great, Khamissa was so helpful with answering questions even after our stay had ended. The place was great value for a one night stay and was close to main square, the taxi drove us nearby and someone assisted in meeting us there to help with our bags. It was where we stayed for our first night in morocco and made a great first impression. The place was clean and beds were comfortable. It was also SO quiet.

Not knowing where the hotel was exactly located, wasn't in a desired location old town. As two females felt very vulnerable at night , going to and from the hotel. Down a dark passage , I would have never found it at nighttime. Taxi from the airport was useless, dumped us off, and said, Follow them guys they will show you. when he did, they tried to scam us for money, more than the cab fair from the airport £20, but we were not having it, told them to jog on. They said inappropriate sexual things , wasn't happy.

Cons: Hotel is very deceiving from outside initially. Once we entered it, it was stunning , typical Moroccan style. Manager & staff couldn't do enough for us. They gave us a map and all the information we needed to enjoy our staff. So we was very grateful.

Mint tea in the courtyard was also lovely relaxing experience. Staff were very friendly and Hamisha was very helpful with recommendations for really good restaurants and ordering taxis etc.

Excellent room with large en-suite facilities. Khamissa, the manager, was very helpful on arrival and provided lots of information on places to visit and location on map.

Cons: Should have picked a more central location between palaces and madrasah. Breakfast could have been more imaginative, with quality cheese rather than Dairylea triangles.

All the staff were very accomadating, never have I ever experienced this even in a 5 star hotel. The manager - Hamisa was outstanding! We also had lots of support from the staff person Achraf as he was able to help translate from French to english. It felt like a big family and being one of our own. Also want to give thanks to Yousef who was able to accomadating our needs.

Cons: The property itself was no issue, but the downfall was us walking back and forth from hotel to our taxis as we dressed up to attend a wedding elsewhere. Maybe having camera set up between the hotel and main road may be useful for the security of residents.

The staff was fantastic: always made sure we were comfortable, were more than happy to accommodate any special requests (airport shuttle, local guide), and were very quick and dedicated to fix any technical issues. The room was very comfortable, and the food provided by the riad was very good.

Cons: Sadly a few things needed attention and upkeep. The air con did not work in our room. We were ok as we can tolerate warmth however others might not. The staff tried to fix it but it wasn’t. The hamman experience was oversold. The water sadly didn’t work, the hamman wasn’t heated enough (maybe it didn’t work?), the beautician was a bit tough and didn’t explain what was happening. It all felt a bit awkward.

the Riad is really very beautiful and very relaxing. it’s traditional but with modern conveniences and exceptionally comfortable and clean. the upper terrace is stunning and the pool very welcome after a hot day in the city. the location is very central in the old medina but very quiet. it’s close to the jardin marjorelle. But it’s the staff that make it. We were made so welcome and treated like members of the family. The breakfast is slow and terrible. No breakfast buffet. After waiting for 15-20 minutes, you would get a few types of jam in small sizes, that looks like leftovers from other guests or from the day before, One type of bread, one type of coffee, A little Mellon, watermellon or another cheap fruit. There is only one slow guy to serve breakfast named Yousef who would first take care of young pretty girls or big group, then reluctantly bring your breakfast. He does not even offer an omlett or a boiled egg for you! Until you ask for it. There is no fridge or TV in the room. There was no luggage rack in the room. After asking, they brought a little stool to be used for that purpose. The alley that takes you to the Riad is very narrow. No cars can get in. So, to take a tour, you have to walk 5 minutes to Riad Laarous to be picked up. Besides, the alley looks scary at night, especially if some creepy guy keeps following you while keeps calling mouseu, mouseu! This Riad, might be OK for half the price.

Cons: There was a good air-condition at the room.

The best thing about the riad is the staff and its services. Youssuf and Ashrad (welcomed us with biscuits and mint tea, looked after us for the 4 days we visited during the day) are the most humble and polite employees and made the whole stay even more special. Youssuf makes really delicious breakfast everyday, rooms are clean, the pool and decorations are perfect, gives you a authentic Marrakesh feel to the accommodation. The terrace is well equipped and has the best rooftop because you can see 360 degree view of the city including the atlas mountains. Breakfast is hearty, really good mint tea and crepes, yogurt, fresh orange juice, eggs, coffee you don't go hungry! They have very good drinks and beers available and also a hammam which provides the best clay/scrub for only 20 EUR. Beds and room was clean, comfy, good water temperate and pressure (Executive room) and all amenities available. Nothing to complain about. They make you feel at home, even got us peanuts and crisps for our drinks from an outside supermarket to accommodate us.

Cons: Nothing - Just take cash to pay for final bill if using amenities such as hamman and cab. Also give 24 hours notice if having dinner a Riad.

Toufik, Achraf and Khamissa looked after us wonderfully. We had a delicious breakfast included every day and the location was excellent for exploring the old town. We were a group of women and felt very safe walking around together. The team were so helpful in their advice and helping to organise things for us. The Riad also provided home-cooked meals (to order) which were authentic and delicious recipes - better than any we had in the local restaurants. The terrace was quiet with great views, perfect for sunbathing and games - even in January. Fantastic Riad, I can’t talk enough about this place. beautifully decorated with great attention to detail. The rooms are equally as nice with traditional bathrooms and an amazingly comfortable bed (best sleep I ever had in a Riad). I would highly recommend having dinner at the Riad at least one night of your stay, the food was at par and arguably even better than some of the fancy restaurants we went to. The staff however are hands down the best part of this Riad. Khmisa and her team make sure everything is handled and whatever you want to do is booked, called and arranged creating no stress to you. A very special shout-out to Daoud who welcomed us on our first night, served us a wonderful meal and was there whenever we needed him throughout our stay. Remarkably friendly, courteous Riad Pachavana is lucky to have him on the team! Thank you again for the amazing time, I will not hesitate to recommend this place to all my friends and family back home in Canada

Riad Pachavana was like an amazing little oasis inside the bustling Medina of Marakesh! The staff were the most friendly welcoming hosts in all of our Moroccan travels. When we were hungry for a snack, they whipped up some of the best tasting Tajine we had so far on our trip! The rooms were beautifully decorated with great attention to detail. Our A/C worked wonderfully, keeping us cool & comfortable throughout the night. The breakfast was delicious.

Marrakech is a crazy busy place. But you walk back to the Riad Pachavana and close the door and peace and quiet prevail. And then you can rest from your day and relax in beautiful surroundings. The staff are excellent, I cannot fault them. They will organise your meals if needed, advise you, sort taxis. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Good loaction, very clean with a lovely pool area. Our secong room also had a fantastic Marble bathtub

Cons: Facalities promised on the booking page not delivered upon. Patio area was none existent in the junior suite that we booked and could only be offered on the double room which was smaller, and was shared with room next door. executive lounge does not exist and in room offering such as bathrobes and sleep wear the staff were unaware of the hotel offering. Breakfast was below par based on the standards set by the 4 previous places we stayed in Morocco, the lack of local tablewear in particular, with what felt like cheap Ikea white porcelain in its place. But the biggest bug bear was that we were informed at 10pm the night before we would be checking out that Visa was not accepted for any room purchases such as water and local taxes, when questioned as to why Visa payments are listed on there booking.com page staff become incredibly rude and just repeatedly stated its our rules and even went as far as telling me they would lose there jobs for taking Visa for this, this was despite the fact that all previous riads in Marracesh accepted Visa for this and they made no mention of this at check in or in any of the info boklets in our room, and have it listed on there Booking.com page as accepted.

The Riad is a little oasis in the heart of the madina, the staff are incredible and treated us like family and couldn’t be more helpful. The chef’s cooking can not be missed, so much so we ate in the Riad a lot because it was so good. The manager booked us taxi’s to ensure we got a good price, organised a great tour guide who was known by everyone and spoke excellent English.

Cons: We had issues with the aircon in our room but any aircon would struggle to make a difference in 47degrees, they got us a fan and straight away ordered a new aircon unit

Riad Pachavana was an amazing riad to stay in. The rooms were well appointed, and the common areas were very clean and comfortable. The pool was a nice way to cool down after a long day, and I also enjoyed the rooftop, where I had a great view of Marrakech. The staff was exceptional, particularly Moussa, who went out of his way to make me feel welcomed every time I came in. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, Moussa made sure everything went well, and offered advice about what to see and do for the following day. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this riad, and Moussa.

The place was beautiful and in a really good spot. Bit hard to find in the beginning. The swimming pool was a paradise while it was boling outside. Room cosy and clean. The biggest part of this stay was the exceptional service of Mussa. He went beyo d the extra mile to a comodate our needs and very friendly. He is rhe diamond of this place. The only downside is the lack of fridge in the rooms esp when is 36 degrees and you want to keep cool your water and staff.

A fantastic stay at Riad Pachavana from the pre-trip preparations with Nathalie which then exceeded expectations as a result of Khamissa and her team, who were exceptional in their efforts to make our stay at the Riad extremely comfortable. Such a wonderful team and we are very grateful for all they did. The Riad is perfectly located in The Medina to access the sights and experience the culture. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The facilities were good with sun lounges on the terrace with spectacular views. Food and Breakfast were tasty and the team catered for all our needs and requests. I’d recommend trying Le Vin Gris. We wish the Riad continued success and hope to return again one day.

A super Riad which was a haven of quietness and peace in the Médina. Attentive staff were very helpful. We had a problem with the noisy air conditioning which meant we had to move rooms and this was handled very efficiently. However a bit more attention needs to be paid to general maintenance. Both of the rooms had shower heads without holders and shutter doors did not move freely. Overall a really nice place to stay.

Riad Pachavana was an incredible find! An oasis in the middle of the medina, absolutely beautiful room and facilities and the team there were beyond lovely and helpful. Particular shout out to Sala and Khammis (please accept my apologies in spelling). Nathalie the owner was also so helpful in the lead up to the booking. Our room, Pierre de Lune was gorgeous, huge comfy bed and private terrace. Top tip is book an airport transfer through them and dinner the first night if arriving late as the food was beautiful. As crazy as the city is it was actually really easy to navigate to and from the Riad as they give you a map and point out key places and the car parks so you can always find your way home. Not more than a 15-20 minute stroll to most places you want to go, which is a godsend in the heat! Highly recommend!! I miss our little oasis already.

- The staff made our stay at the Riad Pacahvana. They were extremely helpful from day one and throughout our visit. We couldn't thank them enough for their hospitality - Breakfast were very tasty: delicious coffee, fresh fruit and particularly yummy pancakes. Omelettes weren't bad either - The road setting was good. It is situated just inside the city wall and you can easily walk to the main sights. The main area in the centre is beautiful and just what you would expect from a Moroccan riad - The room was just OK. We stayed in the Sables de Rose which was at the very top of the riad. First impressions were good. It was clean, spacious and we liked the African-style decor. The bed was fairly comfortable as well. However the good first impression didn't last. The first night we extremely cold and the heater on the wall did not adequately heat the room, therefore I first night's sleep was not the best. We did complain and the staff rectified the problem by adding another heater but obviously this was not a great start. The bathroom was not in the best shape. The sink tap fittings were loose and leaking on the floor. There was a mouldy damp smell in the room, no doubt caused by the leaks and the fact the moisture could not escape. There was also no heater in the bathroom at all so it was cold throughout. - All in all though we loved our list to Marrakesh and the staff at the road really help make the trip

The daily breakfast was delicious and everything served was made from scratch by the wonderful staff. Everyday fresh Moroccan food was such a treat. After a short walk down a very narrow alley/street in the old Medina, we passed through a beautiful doorway into a lovely Moroccan oasis. We were greeted by Khamissa, the manager of this special riad. We sat and had tea and some snacks in one of the comfortable lounge areas facing the courtyard while she explained some basic map lessons for navigating the medina. We were lucky to have been given the rooftop room, and we enjoyed the beautiful patio and views from there. The décor of the riad is authentic and visually sumptuous! We enjoyed a delicious tangine on our first night there. The breakfasts were plentiful (breads, juices, yogurts, coffee, teas, fruits, and eggs on request.) After busy days touring and walking in the crazy, busy medina, Riad Pachavanna was a welcome retreat. One afternoon we opted to stay in, order a massage, and simply relax and enjoy the rooftop views! If you prefer an authentic experience instead of a cookie cutter hotel, we would highly recommend this magical place. Liz and Don

The riad (I wouldn't say it is a hotel) is a nice bed&breakfast type accommodation with a very nice and friendly staff. There were many excursion options they offered and helped us with booking. The breakfast is according to local standards: bread, sweet cake and jams with a piece of fruit. The riad itself was very nicely decorated, the terrace on the rooftop is very pleasing. Our room was nice and spacious, very cold and dark though but in Marrakesh most of the spaces are dark, no sunshine. The experience of staying inside the old city (medina) is very unique but you have to be aware of the dirt, noise and sometimes uncomfortable tiny and shady narrow streets. Make sure you lower your expectations in terms of hygienic conditions, food and comfort.

Fantastic break in Marrakech. The staff could not have been more helpful & accommodating. The Riad was simply lovely, a great sun terrace on the roof with a few loungers, tables & chairs and nice Moroccan areas of seating on the ground floor for everyone to relax. The staff were happy to serve lunch on the roof terrace which was an added bonus. The room facilities were as expected - no luxuries like TV's but that's not what you come here for. Just about everything was within walking distance although you do have to take care not to be run over by mopeds, bicycles, horse-drawn carts & children on roller-skates! The weather was fabulous for the time of year - we arrived on November 8th & it was sunny every day at about 26 - 28 degrees, although it does get a little chilly in the evenings. Well worth using the transport provided by the Riad to & from the airport and I'd also recommend trying the dining at the Riad. Marrakech airport was also an enjoyable experience - modern, clean, spacious & it ran like clockwork. Highly recommended a winter break here & a huge thanks to all the staff for making it such an enjoyable break.

I would actually move in if I could! The welcome dinner was delicious! The hotel and rooms were very clean! But the staff made everything better! The Riad is within comfortable walking distance (with two medium sized suitcases) from the nearest parking for Taxis in an area surrounded by the local people - which was nice! The Riad itself was beautiful. We were glad we picked a Riad rather than a hotel the moment we stepped in, beautifully decorated and had an aura of calmness about it. The staff were very friendly from the moment we walked in to the day we left. Musa (I think was his name - the young chap that did the night shift) would always ask us how our day was when we returned from a day out exploring and seemed genuinely interested in what we thought of Marrakesh and what our plans were. He would always open the door with a huge smile on his face. We made a comment on our Check In review via expedia about how the toilet seat had a stain on it - it wasn't dirt or anything but just a stain, probably from the water but would not come off. It was abit off-putting so we mentioned it on our review. the Riad responded almost immediately and offered us a different room straight away, which we declined as our room was clean and tidy and the stain was minor issue. But the response from the Riad was spot on and made us feel more welcome as guests at the Riad. the Riad is within walking distance to most attractions (30 mins max) but due to the heat during our stay we decided to take a taxi everywhere which was easy to do, however, the drivers do not like to turn meter on and tend to ask for 50Dirhams almost everywher

This riad was in an excellent location in the medina, close to all the places we wanted to walk to. The staff was excellent as was the food. The riad was very nice except that our shower dripped constantly and the taps for the sink were very loose. I think this is quite usual in Morocco, especially in the medina, so we were not overly fussed about it. We had a "guide" recommended by the riad for us to tour the souks and we were not pleased with the guide. She had an agenda of her own and only brought us to the merchants she knew, which we assumed was for "kick backs". If the riad arranges a tour of the souks or the medina for you, you may want to ask for a male guide to avoid getting the woman we had. Because it is a small riad, we really felt we were getting personalized service and all the employees of the riad knew us well. I would recommend staying at this riad!

This is a really nice Riad however some things let it down. The lady that checked us in was very nice and very helpful giving us a map and information to get as around the medina. The night we arrived we had pre-ordered dinner, however we felt this was very average. No vegetables or anything with the chicken and the fruit salad desert looked like it was out of a can. Breakfast was also very basic with stale bread and cake everyday- needs more variety. Our actual room was very nice however we had the Corail room which opened straight on to the courtyard so if people are gathering in the courtyard it may keep you awake if a light sleeper. Night staff also sleep in the courtyard area on the couches so if going out early this can be a little confronting. The location is quite good for exploring the medina.

From point of booking to check out time, nothing was too much trouble for the wonderful staff at Riad Pachavana. Hamissa and her team were so welcoming, this hotel really is a home from home and made our stay in Marrakesh even more memorable. The hotel offers a very reasonable airport shuttle that I would recommend - the Riad is difficult to find on your first visit and the pre-arranged transport was very helpful. The Riad is approx 20min from the main square and sights of Marrakesh so well positioned. The rooms are large and spotlessly clean. The courtyard area is relaxing and welcoming and the roof terrace a great place to escape. Cannot recommend this hotel enough!

Absolutely beautiful riad with very friendly staff. We had dinner on our first evening which was lovely. Our room was the Rose des Sables, which opened out onto the roof terrace, something that wasn't advertised when we booked and was an added bonus. The only slight criticism was that we arranged for a taxi to take us to the Supratours station for a bus to Essaouira but it did not arrive, we think the hotel forgot to book it and we nearly didn't get on it as all the tickets had sold when we arrived - luckily some folk didn't turn up. Supratours is a very comfortable and cheap way to get to Essaouira btw - highly recommended.

Unfortunately, I left Riad Pachavana with an extremely bad taste in my mouth. While good accommodation, I'd recommend staying somewhere else. Let's start with the good things: The riad itself is genuinely beautiful. The inner courtyard is quiet and peaceful with a nice pool and the rooms are immaculately clean and well decorated. The breakfast they serve in the morning was filling and great. I also got a dinner there one night and it was very delicious. In addition, Mohamed, the primary person who worked with guests, was one of the highlights of my trip to Morocco. He was incredibly kind, could speak multiple languages well, and was incredibly attentive. The bad Unfortunately, I can't say the same thing about the other two people who managed the rates and the excursions. In short, each time I asked for something it felt like they first forgot and then tried to squeeze me for every dollar they could get. I stayed twice and before I reserved the second stay I asked how much the room was (multiple times) and each time the concierge told me they would get the exact rate, but it would be cheaper than I paid before. When I was actively staying in the rooms the second time, the concierge still insisted it would be cheaper but couldn't get me an exact rate (I was asking every day). When I went to check out, the price was 20% higher than I paid before. It made me feel taken advantage of and when I voiced my frustration they didn't seem to care.

This is a 3 star type hotel if Riads could be rated that way. Many of the old fittings have been preserved in this Riad making it feel Very authenthic. As with all old buildings, plumbing etc can be iffy. We had very little shower pressure but good hot water. Beds were comfortable and very clean. Soaps and shampoos were provided but quality was spare. The reason to come back here is the service. Their service is really good and that's saying something as this is often not a priority in other hotels i stayed in within Morocco.

Overall our stay at the hotel was okay due the hotel staff being excellent and extremely friendly. They tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible. However the hotel facilities were not as expected. The AC in the room was not great which makes things very difficult when its 40 degrees celsius outside. Having a cold drink would have helped but there was no fridge in our room, so that didn't help. It is a small hotel so there is no TV in the room or phone. You have to go down to reception each time you want something. Wi-fi was down for a day and a half. The location of the hotel was not great. It is not accessible from the main roads and non of the taxi drivers know where it is. You have to walk through some small, smelly and horribble alleys to get to it. With locals constantly trying to 'help' you.

Stayed for 2 nights on a stop to Marrakech. Ended up booking an additional 2 nights with help from the staff so we could do day trips to nearby sights. The riad is very nice and in a reasonable location to get to both the medina and newer parts of town, would stay again.

My partner and I got lucky, Riad Pachavana was one of the choices in packages we were choosing from. In a clean, quiet neighborhood in the Medina, it became our absolute oasis from the city life outside. This riad is beautifully designed and finished. All of the regional materials and details are very well thought out and finished. The inner courtyard is absolutely stunning, with palm trees open to the sky, a small pool, and various comfortable seating areas. The enormous roof-top terrace is a true gem day and night. The rooms, each with their own unique design and mood, are very clean and comfortable. We especially appreciated the supremely comfortable beds and pillows. The Pachavana staff is multi-lingual, accommodating, and very friendly. I very highly recommend this as what must be one of the nicest riads in Marrakesh.

This is the first riad I've stayed in and was hoping for more attention to detail. The Expedia 3-star hotel rating is accurate. The room was as pictured - clean, large, and comfortable. We had dinner the first night - great for late arrivals though a bit pricey and no menu. The biggest problem was the WiFi. It appeared their router was infected with malware since when you connect and browse on an Android phone, a popup prompted to download a dodgy app. Another guest had the same problem and their phone was infected. The owner called IT but their fix didn't correct the problem. Since the owner was not always around and the staff were not aware of the issue, we had to try each day to see if it was fixed. Not having internet for 3+ days was a BIG deal. Other small items could be improved. For example the shower drain was very slow (clogged). Reported it to staff but not fixed. Expedia lists "free bottled water" but none in the room. The Master Saphir Suite was next to the kitchen and you can sometimes hear staff at work or talking. As for security, you have to knock on the front door of the riad and wait in the alley to be let inside. You do not get a key. Plus the keys to all the guest rooms are hanging by the door. Both of these are a security concern in my opinion. So overall we slept well, enjoyed the lush decor and relaxed setting, had a nice breakfast, but it could be so so much better.

Hotel staff was very helpful, breakfast is good, location is convenient to visit jeema el-fna and also the new city in Menara. Location though is not too easy to find if you're going there for the first time, look it up in advance to avoid paying the street kids to take you there.

The Riad Pachavana provided a welcome calm and peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle that is Marrakech. It is located a 15-20 minute walk from the main square and souks of the medina, and a similar distance from the new town. The staff were all extremely helpful in arranging trips and taxis as required, particularly the night manager. There are plenty of quiet communal areas which allowed our family to relax together without being squashed into one of the bedrooms. All in all, the riad Pachavana gives a great authentic Moroccan riad experience.

This is a fabulous Riad. The location s convenient and quiet.Because of a schedule glitch on our part we ended up staying in nearly every room. They are all great. My daughter and I especially liked the the rooms with the adjoining patio. The staff is fantastic, very helpful and accommodating. The manager is a gem, when we made a scheduling error she came to our rescue and responded to our every whim. The food is also very good and the rooftop terrace is a great place to hang out. After staying in other Riads, this was our favorite!!

We had a lovely holiday in the Riad staff were very good and made my birthday special, but hotel area surroundings not really very pleasant but would recommend it to anyone for a relaxing time whilst at the Riad.

We really enjoyed the authentic Moroccan decor and the peacefulness and tranquility of the Riad once you were inside. The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and helpful with planning your daily excursions. We enjoyed their breakfast and tea and some refreshments. Although we did not eat dinner there, we heard it was excellent.

Had a great stay at the riad - super friendly staff, beautiful courtyard and everything we had hoped for. A great oasis to come back to in a sometimes quite hectic city.

Absolutely beautiful, peaceful and tranquil Riad in the heart of the old Medina. 15 minute walk from the Jemaa El Fna square and close to lots of other beautiful sights including the spectacular Majorelle Gardens. OK, so you're walking down pretty busy and chaotic streets bustling full of mopeds, taxis, donkeys, etc etc but that all adds to the charm of Marrakesh! Once you get your bearings the Riad itself is nice and easy to find, just follow the various parking areas and turn left after the shop selling metal cactus ornaments!!!! The Riad itself has every comfort you could possibly need including plunge pool and rooftop sunning area. Wifi throughout and absolutely delicious food, prepared to order. Both the duty managers Mohammad and Fouad were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the local area too. Could not fault this place at all and hope to return!

We enjoyed our visit to Marrakech and loved the design and layout of the Riad. We were in Pierre de Lune and were very happy with this room. The Riad was very clean and so too was our room. We used the pool and the roof terrace and regularly ordered beer and wine in the evenings. We did not eat an evening meal at the Riad. Many people described the Riad as ‘an oasis of calm’ – but unfortunately we did not find this to be so. There were very few guests staying and most of the time the atmosphere when we returned to the Riad for a quiet afternoon to escape the heat was more like a staff party than somewhere peaceful and calm. I understand it is the culture to speak with raised voices – but the staff chatter and at times shouting and arguing was really too much. They seemed to forget that there were guests in the Riad. There was a major staff argument on our last afternoon, which I was told was about money, that was so loud that we moved ourselves from the pool to the roof terrace. We could still hear the shouting, so my husband went downstairs to ask them to be quiet. They were then apologetic and embarrassed. So 10/10 for the facilities but the staff need some better training.

The staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. For a whole day/night our room door lock was not locking and it had to be replaced so we were concerned that our room would be open but we decided to trust the staff as they said all our stuff would be safe and it was. The only think that would need to be sorted would be the shower as it was not powerful but to be honest the Riad make up for it in its traditional style and caring staff. It felt more like we were staying in someones home than a hotel, which felt more traditional. Finally the food was very good and presented like a top restaurant. When my wife and I return we will defiantly be staying here again.

We were welcomed at the beginning of our week's stay with a quick orientation to the Medina over some mint tea. Staff were attentive without fussing and unfailingly welcoming. Breakfasts of home made breads and fresh orange juice started the day of smoothly. The Riad recommended trips and helped organize them with English speaking guides - in particular we enjoyed the trip to the Ourika Valley finished with a late lunch by the side of the river. The Riad was charming and easy to find and offered a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of the Medina. They also provided a lovely meal on our first night which was tasty and freshly made. This was a perfect pick for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

A true marrakesh experience in a nice clean riad. No food choice - breakfast very limited and dinner poor value for money when compared to eating outside. But overall a pleasant experience and a welcome contrast to the hustle and bustle of the medina.

Lovely stay for a week in late March, very much a quiet season for Marrakech. The hotel was peaceful and quiet, a perfect oasis of calm and relaxation compared to the hustle and bustle of the Medina's teaming streets on the other side of the wall.

I came here at the end of January 2014 to February 2014, it was a lovely place and the staff were friendly and the place was clean but it was a little cold at this time and it started to get hotter after the second week of February the manager was very helpful and the staff were very helpful and we enjoyed ,Marrakesh is nice but only go there for a couple of days as we had spent one week there and got a bit boring after seeing most of the things. advice I can give people when going to Marrakesh is make sure you plan your journey on a regular basis ,and go to the restaurants that are recommended in the book called the best of Morocco as you will find very clean and safe cuisine to eat do you not eat from Street venders as you don't know how old the food is

You visit will be made as easy to arrange as possible. Riad offers to arrange taxi to meet you at airport /(quite expensive at 20 euro each way) but trouble free. Riad will provide evening meal, also 20 euro on eve of arrival but this must be booked in advance as indeed all subsequent meals you might wish to take at the riad. Food good but no real choice. Alternative good restaurants close by are scarce except one Latitude 123 but it closes at 6.00pm. The location gives an atmospheric taste of the medina and the souks and stalls are plentiful and nearby. Trips can be arranged by the riad but be careful as to what you choose, some can involve over 9 hours in an uncomfortable mini bus although the journey through the beautiful Atlas mountains does much to compensate. Minor problems, door to room would not lock, shower aimed it water down wall encountered at the riad were dealt with promptly pleasantly and fairly ..On the whole the rooms are very good and different from the usual run of hotel rooms. I would recommend this riad. I am sure there are others as good if not better but the staff in them could not be kinder or more pleasant than those of the Pachavana
