Ahmed and Mohammed were wonderful! Very helpful. We were the only parties present at the Riad during our stay. It was peaceful and the staff was attentive. Ahmed was very helpful with last minute assistance for our plane ticket.

Breakfast was excellent. Home made yoghurt and baking. Room was adequate, clean and fairly comfortable. Location was in old historic part of Marrakesh and was at first daunting but we soon realised was perfectly safe and locals helpful and friendly. Our hosts Mohammed and Ahmed were exceptional . Friendly, helpful, informative and nothing was too much for them. Made our holiday so much better.
Cons: Our taxi couldn’t access the old town and on arrival we were pointed in the direction of the Riad. As soon as we started out we were approached by an unofficial “ guide”. Cost us some dirham. Was disconcerting on the first day but we soon learned how to deal with them and enthusiastic sellers. After that never felt unsafe. Indeed locals friendly and helpful.

The staff were friendly, the breakfast provided was tasty and the room looked great. The staff were knowledgeable, spoke a variety of languages, helped us with advice, maps and where to meet up with our tour drivers for pickup journeys.
Cons: In Marrakech ALL the Riads appeared to be located down dark deep alleyways that are far too scary looking to make you feel relaxed or safe after dark. This is more a reflection of Marrakech than on this particular Riad, but nevertheless it has put me off ever going back to Marrakech, and I would not want to stay in ANY Riad again.

It's very cozy, with character. The rooftop patio is wonderful, quiet, full of plants, perfect for breakfast or some chill time after a busy walk around town. Our host, Soufian, was very helpful with his knowledge of the city. Very accommodating (our teenager slept past the breakfast time and still got a full breakfast when he got up). Location was great - close to the edge of the markets but surprisingly quiet. Don’t get put off by the alley you go down to reach the Riad , the area was very safe and people welcoming. The building was so beautiful and the terrace was lovely to sit out on at anytime of day, including a relaxing swing chair. The room worked well to us with a big double bed and a smaller bed at the side. We had an issue with shower being cold but it’s because the hot water is run on a gas bottle so the staff replaced it immediately and made sure it was all working for us. Staff were amazing - friendly and so helpful and accommodating with our early morning requests. I couldn’t fault this and would happily return!

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The location is fine, not far from an entrance to the souk. Sights like the Medersa Ben Youssef are a 10-15 min. walk. The Jamaa El Fna is a 15 min. walk, when you walk through the souk it's a pleasant walk. Pikala Bikes (bicycle tours) is around the corner. The Riad is tucked away in a small and quiet street. The airport pick-up was practical. From where the cars can park it's a 5 min walk. The room was fine, as always in Marakesh rather dark but there is an nice rooftop. Very friendly staff.

A Wonderful Stay Despite a Small Hiccup We recently stayed at this lovely property and had an overall excellent experience. Breakfast was very good. There was a variety of foods offered each morning. Fresh orange juice, tea, coffee, local cakes etc; served. Room was cleaned each day and fresh towels provided daily. Staff were very helpful and informative about local attractions etc. Location was in the old town/medina and was convenient to many of the main attractions. Main square, 25 mins, mosque, 20mins, Bahia Palace 25mins, walk. The area is level and accessible to most abilities. Be advised the ground is a little uneven in places.
Cons: Riad management/ownership had recently changed (which we had not been made aware of prior to travel). The were a few teething and technical problems during our stay. For example lack of hot water in ensuite. The staff did make alternative arrangements for us. However, this did involve going to an unoccupied room to use the shower which was a little inconvenient. Bed was very low and not that comfortable. It would have been good if we had been offered alternative accommodation as these problems existed during the whole of our stay.

Thank you very much to HAMID and AHMED for the excellent treatment received, for your help, the recommendations of restaurants and places were a total success. The location of the hotel is the best, TOP! super central 5 minutes from the square near the main mosque, safe area, full of restaurants, stores, cafes, easy access to visit Marrakech on foot. I recommend the hotel to go with friends, couple or family. I was surprised by the friendliness of all the people and Marrakech is a city to return without hesitation. I hope to return soon and I will stay again in this fabulous Riad Orchidee.

The staff were incredibly nice, making us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was good, they had fruits every day and the pancakes were particularly good. The spread was similar to what we experienced at other hotels in Morocco. The air conditioning worked perfectly, which was a relief given the warm weather. The bed was very comfortable and the entire hotel was very clean.
Cons: Access to the hotel was a 5-minute walk, which wasn't bad. The hotel staff kindly accompanied us when it was late at night or too early in the morning, ensuring our safety and comfort. Although the small street leading to the hotel was surprising at first, we quickly got used to it. This is a common feature throughout the medina, and access to most of the riads is similar. The hotel's location was very central, providing easy access to tourist spots and nearby taxis, making it convenient to explore the city.

Close to the city centre and to the pick up point for all our excursions. Cozy and very characteristic.
Cons: I am coeliac, they promised me a gluten-free breakfast when I booked. On the first day, no one was aware of my coeliac disease and I did not have breakfast. On the second day, no one had bothered to find a solution yet. On the last day, the owner asked me 'what is coeliac disease?', apologised, and deducted €30 from my final bill, which is very little for the inconvenience caused to me and the fact that I chose the hotel specifically for breakfast. It's not true that the restaurant service is open H24, if you want to have lunch or dinner there you have to let them know in the morning at breakfast, otherwise you can't do it any more. I expected more flexibility reading the description. The shower is impossible to use. You cannot hang the hand shower so you have to wash yourself by holding it with one hand and soaping yourself with the other. We arrived and there were only two shower towels, we asked for more small towels and they brought them to us after two days. At one point the bathroom carpet disappeared and we had to use a towel. On top of that they were very stained. Very disorganised. And there was no hair dryer.

Karim was an amazing host. He sat with us to understand what we like and helped us plan our day and how to avoid the tourist traps. He even had someone prepare our breakfast during the night as we had to leave early and we had our packs at the reception. It’s really close to the center and in a quiet area.

The staff was very attentive and courteous. They explained to us clearly about directions , etc.
Cons: The riad has seen better days . First they should have informed us of the walk through the dark alley and dirty streets. The cleaning staff did a good job cleaning the rm though they forgot to bring up new towels and even removed the hair dryer on our second day. They do not replenish cotton balls and swabs which should be standard in hotels. They did not provide a towel floor rug after they cleaned the bath rm which is necessary since the floor is marble and can get slippery. Breakfast was cold and when had bf in the terrace or the lounge outside the rm there were WASPS around us trying to eat the honey. Going up the stairs to the 2nd level was tricky. We had to walk up w no stair handles. Pls do not call this riad 4 star as advertised on the internet and another 2star rating which had we been informed I would not have booked. We were 2 seniors walking down dark alleys, going up the stairs with no stair handles and no proper toiletries/ towels on a slippery bathroom. You should have vetted this place more. We truly appreciate the nice staff but we also need an all around comfortable place w better amenities

The riad was attractive, especially the middle floor, and the roof nicely laid out with great views first thing. The breakfast was typically Moroccan, and not super filling, but ok. We had the room on the ground floor, which wasn't the best for privacy, and a bit narrow. The stay was nice and pleasant in general though.
Cons: The riad is a little tricky to find, and involves a 600m or so walk from the nearest taxi drop off point. It's about a 20mins+ walk to the medina. Breakfast wasn't delivered with much speed, but not the end of the world.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious and generous, and the Riad itself was beautiful
Cons: Quite difficult to find - it’s down a narrow alleyway and isn’t signposted until the end, where you turn down another dark alley For our room, the door and windows opened onto the communal pool and main breakfast eating area. This meant we had little privacy and made the room quite loud if others woke up for an early breakfast

Cons: Red stain on the double bed On the first day, we were allocated to a temporary room. The single bed was not clean (had food crumbs) and the bathroom did not have a shower (shower head only). The location is via a dirt path accessible by foot only. Safe but smelly in parts (not the hotel’s fault, but noteworthy).

The staff were all excellent. Very helpful and friendly. Location was convenient. Other people have mentioned the alley way but I think most of the riads are located in one. The little Riad has everything available from food, drinks and rooftop, spa and a little pool. We arranged for airport pick up and drop off, hot air balloon ride and ordered a bottle of wine. All very limited but available if needed.
Cons: I would say all facilities functioned well but just requires a bit of a revamp with rusty parts in the bathroom and doors which are hard to close.

The location, even though it is still a good 10 minutes walk form the medina. There was a nice rooftop
Cons: The property is dated, the room smelled and was not clean when we arrived. The shower head didn't stay in place, there was no curtain around the shower and the water temperature oscillated between freezing and boiling. The "pool" had a strong smell of chemicals making it impossible to get in. You can hear other guests conversations and movements around the property, not a very relaxing stay unfortunately.

We loved this Riad in the old town of Marrakesh. The location was great, just a short walk to the main square and there are plenty of little shops around. The facilities here were great for a short stay and we spent our days here on the rooftop area and using the swimming pool. The staff here were amazing, very helpful and incredibly motivated to ensure our stay was as comfortable and pleasant as possible. I would recommend staying here to anyone travelling to Marrakesh!
Cons: The only slight drawback to this Riad is that the windows on the rooms had no glass and faced into communal areas. You can close the shutter, but it meant that you could hear some of the activities of other guests.

Beautiful Riad, the staff was possibly the best we experienced in Morocco (and we stayed in 6 different places in Morocco so that is a high compliment). They provided a free map (which came in very handy when our phones died) and common phrases list. They even brewed fresh mint tea and gave us small pastries on arrival, which really helped with the overall relaxing experience. The breakfast was very delicious and you could tell with high-quality ingredients (jams, honey, butter, pancakes, buns, coconut cakes, fresh juice etc) I wish there was more protein though (eggs or yogurt or something savoury). Rooms were very tastefully decorated and had working modern TVs and air-conditioner/heaters. Only drawback is (like many Riads) it is hard to find, initially. Also the location is a bit far, but still within walking distance from the main square (Jemaa el-Fnaa) but closer to other attractions (Le Jardin Secret and Dar El Bacha etc) I would highly recommend this Riad and would book again in a heartbeat.

I stayed at this riad with two friends at the beginning of February. As soon as we crossed the threshold of the house, we were surrounded by care and hospitality. Inside there is a swimming pool and a rooftop terrace. From the taxi rank to the riad is a 5 minute walk. Very quiet and atmospheric place, as if you find yourself in an oriental fairy tale. Special thanks to Karim, he took into account all our wishes and made our vacation unforgettable. Thank you, we will definitely be back.

Firstly the staff were amazing- they couldn't do enough to help make our stay special. They gave personal recommendations of where to visit and looked after our every need. Breakfast was great and was different everyday with plenty of coffee and fresh orange juice to drink. As the place is a Riad, you have to expect a little noise in the rooms as they all face the courtyard, however it wasn't an issue and tended to die down after 11 as people arrived back from their days out. The location is tucked away down a dead-end ally, however it is well lit and well signposted.

It has very unique athmosphere: historical building, close to nature (even birds were singing inside sometimes). Although ancient, but well equipped: AC with heating mode, hot shower water, hair dryer are all available. Location is perfect, close to both city centre and Jardine Majorelle (20-30 min walk), but still quiet. Roof terrasse is really great for having rest: full with plants and great panoramic view. Breakfast was varied (different cake each morning) and when we left early morning for a day tour we got a picnic pack. Staff is very helpful. Helping to get SIM card for mobile, learing some basic word in local language or give tips what to visit within 1 or day days.
Cons: Rooms has windows only for inner garden and as it is historical building and window, it is not sound proofed. This means you can hear the noise from dining room and either you have naturel light or privacy (depending on whether you open the shutter or not). We had no serious problems with this, but if you are light sleeper or prefer more intimacy good for you to know.

Location was in the ancient Medina, don't come to Marrakech and expect cleanliness in the Medina. However, stepping into the Riad was a literal breath of fresh air. It was smaller than I had imagined but it was tidy and clean. The room was small but sufficient with an attached bath and the bed was very comfortable. There is a charming balcony. I wanted to stay longer than time allowed. It is easy walking distance to the old market square. It is difficult to find. You have to walk on uneven cobblestones down dimly lit narrow streets and you have to climb narrow stairs to get to the rooms.

Overall, it was the only unpleasant stay on my trip, and I visited Scotland, England, Portugal and Morocco on this trip. To start, the RIad (Hotel) is hidden in a not that nice part of the medina. When our tour guide came to pick us up for a tour the reception girl told him that we had checked our already (not true), fortunately, I overheard my name and came to meet our guide. Last,, but not least, it is the only hotel in all the countries that I have been that has charged us for a map of the city (one euro). It is not the amount, but the gesture.

Hard to find, so either use their offered shuttle service or be prepared for a challenges. I chose the latter.

Godt ophold, venligt personale.

I really liked this hotel, cosy and beautiful with nice furniture and decoration. Huge room, big bed, maybe not the most comfortable but i dont mind. I travelled alone as a girl and came at night so it was dark and i had to walk into a dark alley to find this hotell. Some children followed me and it felt a bit unsecure walking there. It would be nice with this information in beforehand that the cab could not drive the whole way to the door(in daytime this street felt completley safe though). Altough, the guy that met me at the hotel was really nice, gave me tea, lots of information and ordered food for me since i was to tired to go out. Many thanks for that! And to the woman making breakfast - very tasty! Overall a good stay to a good price :)

Friendly, helpful staff. Large room with comfortable bathroom. Leaking shower but what the heck... Its quite a walk to the main square but that keeps you fit and you can either walk via the "normal" street or through the narrow streets with shops (about the same distance/time). Parking and some restaurants nearby as well. Would stay there again .

Enjoyed our time at the Riad in Jasmine room (5 nights)but comment on the following to ensure people are fully aware of the standard of the Riad: Jasmine room: concrete screed for a floor in the en suite area. The shower area had mould on the wall near the base. This was cleaned on request. 6 coat hangers provided for 3 people. (4 more provided after on request) Insufficient for a 5 night stay. Shelving to store clothes in the ensuite area but no drawers Shower virtually impossible to obtain steady temperature, one had to hand hold the head to prevent scalding Small room safe but proprietor never provided key when requested. Towels provided gradually became more threadbare as the days progressed. Main sleeping area was attractive but the dust in one area never moved in the 5 days. One small plunge pool. No pool on terrace. Roof terrace is very shabby in need of TLC. Lounger cushions are threadbare and whole area looked neglected. Two budges caged in the dinning area near downstairs rooms. They tweet early, bring ear plugs (Also call to prayer broadcast around Medina at around 6am). Breakfast OK consisting of pancakes, occasional omelette, sweet rolls, banana and sweet jams/ honey. Riad is located in a shabby area but felt safe. Hotel charges 5% for credit card payments Excursions overpriced

This riad is beautiful, calm, and tranquil. It's a great escape to the rush and noise of Marrakech outside. We had a room on the ground floor that was very spacious, comfortable, and well organized. We felt a bit like royalty! The courtyard is so charming with the pool and waterfall and the breakfast served in the morning was plentiful. We had stayed in a different hotel (dar) in Marrakech earlier in our trip which was on the other side of the Jemaa el Fna square and the neighborhoods were quite different. There it was very quiet and residential while around Riad L'Orchidee, you have a real working neighborhood. I actually recommend it, it's safe and about a 15-20 minute walk to the square which takes you through streets filled with people and everyday shops (i.e. not touristy). It can be a little intimidating but, as I mentioned, we felt very safe. It's also convenient for the Ali Ben Youssef Medersa and Majorelle Garden. In short, we would definitely stay here again.

Top kleines freundliches Hotel

We stayed here in November for 4 nights and had a lovely time. It is a good location to give you an insight to Marrakech's little alleys and only a short walk to the souks. Friendly staff, clean room and good breakfasts. The roof terrace was a good space to sit outside.

I was a little surprised when i first arrived and the taxi driver walked me down two small back alleys with children running around to a small door in the wall. I had not been to Marrakech before so i was not sure what to expect but it wasn't this. Inside, my initial impression was that the photos posted on Expedia were generous but actually at night, like the rest of Marrakech, the colour and vibrancy appears. The staff could not have been more helpful or friendly, they were excellent and gave good advice/suggestions. The riad is located 10-15mins from Jamma El Fina, the main square, which is great because it gets you away from the mad rush and inside l'Orchidee became a sanctuary. Overall i grew to appreciate this Riad, i enjoyed my stay, it was clean, comfortable, reasonably priced and the staff were great.

Brilliant traditional hotel. One thing to note on arrival from your taxi to the Raid people may ask to carry your bags from the taxi to the Raid they have a semi connection with the locals. They also expect a small tip for carrying your bags and showing you where the Raid is. We did not know this and refused to tip and carry our bags it caused quite a commotion.

The hotel (Riad) looks very nice and peaceful with clean rooms. All staff was kind and considerate. Their service was really great, for example, they provided me with breakfast, even though I was late (usually they provide breakfast by 11:00 am), They tried hard to make me feel comfortable and our relationships were not typical customer-service provider but family. However, disadvantages include the location (because it is located in the Medina, it is a bit difficult to find the hotel) and weak wifi signal in my room. Overall, it is a great hotel and recommendable to other travelers especially couples and families.

A lovely homely place to stay. The location is fab (even though it is a bit of a walk). You will find that you will find only a few Riad's with a location like this. The staff are fantastic here, and we loved our stay. The only reason I rated the room's comfort as OK is because we were 3 people sleeping in the Jasmin room. This room has got two extremely comfortable beds which would have been brilliant if we had been 2 travellers. However because we were 3, they had put a little foldaway bed on the side of the room which was extremely uncomfortable. Aside from that, we loved it!

The service was really friendly, a little too attentive at times. We ended up staying in the ground floor room which was not ideal as it opens up onto the communal area. Would recommend staying here for easy access to the old town and the main square, it was clean and reasonably priced. Luckily our taxi driver was kind and found the correct road for us, otherwise it isn't the easiest place to find, even with a map - but it is Marrakesh after all.
