We had such a fantastic experience thanks to the brilliant staff! They went above and beyond to help us navigate our pre-booked tours, making everything run so smoothly from start to finish. Their knowledge, friendliness, and willingness to assist made the whole process so much easier and more enjoyable. Truly exceptional service — thank you for making our trip stress-free and memorable! We would recommend anyone to stay at this riad

The Staff was amazing. In particular, Mohamed made us feel welcome right as we arrived and shared a map for how to get around. He also waited on us during dinner and is just so kind and lovely. He made a real difference.
Cons: We added a day, and I feel let the Riad know well enough in advance, but we had to spend our first night in one room and then move another room for 3 nights. Both rooms were lovely! That said, maybe I did something wrong in not properly confirming the additional night through Booking.com rather than with the Riad directly.

Risparmierete in denaro e in discussioni

A really beautiful riad that is an oasis of tranquility in the middle of the medina. We started our stay in the riad petit Karmela but were upgraded to a bigger room in riad karmela which was amazing. The staff are fantastic and cannot do enough for you and the rooms are beautiful. Breakfast is great with a good choice of fruit, eggs, pastries, bread, cheeses and cold meats. We also ate in the restaurant several times and were impressed by the standard and quality of the food. There are plenty of places to chill out and relax when you need to take a break from the hectic medina. Would recommend to all who want a traditional but classy place to stay in Marrakech

A "1001 night experience" just 4 hours flight from Northern Europe. Riad Karmela - which is actually three connected riads / atriums - is very centrally located. Leaving the very narrow alleyway you are immediately in the souk with its abundance of shops, cafés etc. We had a room with private terrace, both a "courtyard" at the top floor and another terrace on the roof of the room itself with a 360 degree view of Marrakech's rooftops, mosques and - in the distance - the Atlas mountains. Most rooms are on the galleries of the atriums. The staff is kind and helpful and the restaurant staff is very service-minded. The food is traditional Moroccan with mainly tagine main courses, which are not my favourite, but certainly a must to try. The hotel had lost its alcohol license due to a recent change of ownership, which requires a new application. That came as a surprise, as we like a glass of wine with our dinner and perhaps a drink or a beer in the evening. However, that should be a temporary thing. Only a limited number of the top restaurants within the medina have a licence. Great to dine at places like Pepe Nero, Le Fondouk and Café Arabe, which were the ones we visited. Some may not want to walk the souk streets going back in the evening when the shops have closed and some areas are rather dark and deserted, but it should be as safe as any European city despite the different appearance. In daytime especially beware of the motorbikes driving fast through the narrow streets with lots of pedestrians, often in both directions at the same time and deviating around you last moment. A few are absolutely reckless in a way that ought to be punishable, so stick to the right side and keep eyes and ears open. Had it not been for them the atmosphere would be timeless with lots of donkey carriages carrying goods through the souk and people in both traditional clothes and "European" clothes. But all in all a very recommendable stay at a very pleasant hotel in exotic surroundings.

This is my first trip to Marrakech and this is a perfect riad. Just how I imagined a riad. Its in a a beautiful maze made up of three riads. An oasis of calm and cool after the hot, noisy, dusty chaos outside. Restored in very traditional old style but well maintained, with painted heavy doors and ceilings. There are lots of tranquil seating areas and quiet corners with sunloungers on the roof terraces. It has some lovely trees and planting within and a running fountain. At night it is lit by lanterns and very romantic. About 15/20 minutes walk from the big main square and near the museums. Its in a busy lit area and felt safe at night outside. We booked a walking tour cheaply on Getyourguide which helped us get our bearings in the mad warren of streets outside. I would definitely recommend to my friends and stay here again.

Apart from the property being a beautiful tranquil calming place, the staff could not do enough for us. I must point out that we are three disabled women and we want to have an adventure. The property could not have been more supportive and I don’t think I’ve ever stayed somewhere that was so wonderful.
Cons: I liked everything. I cannot think of one negative. Highly highly highly recommend.

Location is good. Aircon worked well. Breakfast was enjoyable.
Cons: We were kept waiting for over an hour for our room to be ready. When I went to check it appeared that we had been forgotten and our room had been ready for some time. The riad was busy with arrivals when we arrived (Riad Karmela is the central check in point for several other riads) and didn't have the relaxed feel we were expecting - felt more like a regular hotel. The wifi cut out persistently on our last night/day.

Riad Karmela exceeded all of my expectations. The rooms were excellent, with full, powerful air conditioning and all the amenities a frequent traveler like me expects. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of the Medina and just minutes from all the major sights. The staff made the trip unforgettable. Amine went above and beyond to help us at every turn, and Mohammed, along with the rest of the team, made our stay extra special. Their genuine care and attention made us feel truly welcomed. The food at the riad was outstanding and wonderfully priced—one of the highlights of our trip. I travel a lot and have very high standards, and Riad Karmela met every one of them. I would absolutely stay here again if possible. Highly recommended!

3 nights in a twin room, air con, lovely bathroom, towels, toiletries, bottled water, safe (we didn’t use it). Breakfast was lovely, great selection, eggs made to order. Staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. The riad is beautiful, many courtyard spaces to sit and relax. Drinks and food available throughout the day/evening. Rooftop for breakfast and another rooftop for relaxing with a small plunge pool and a small jacuzzi in a quiet corner of the rooftop breakfast area. Relax in one of the courtyards among lime and orange trees, birds, cats, tortoise and water features. A welcome calm from the heat and vibrancy of Marrakesh! A true oasis. We had hamman and massage at the riad which was amazing, just ask at reception. One small point for breakfast, some flies about so would have liked more food to be totally covered.

Riad Karmela is a charming and traditional gem, located just steps from the souq. We’ve had the pleasure of staying there multiple times, and each visit has been a memorable experience. The riad itself is beautiful and staff is very nice and helpfull. A special mention to Mounir, the driver – he’s not only friendly and engaging but also highly skilled in navigating of narrow streets and busy traffic in Marrakech. Highly recommend this place!

I would describe Karmela as an eclectic hotel. My room and the hotel as a whole, consisted of various pieces of furniture, fairly diverse decorations and many rooms/places just great for chilling. I liked the rooftop locations for breakfast and dinner. And the fact that you could access the places over two sights just made it a bit more intriguing. The AC worked well, especially as it was badly needed in the 35/40 degree heat. The staff were fabulous, and were knowledgeable about the local area. It isn't the easiest of hotels to find, but well worth the effort. This should be on your list to consider if staying in this part of Marrakech.

The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly and gave us important local knowledge about our time in Marrakesh. They even let me name the largest of the Riad’s tortoises (Hudson). The breakfast is lovely and the rooms are very well appointed. The Riad is very clean and the rooftop area is beautiful. There are lots of lovely chill out spots. It’s very serene after a day of walking around the old town. A fantastic place to stay and central to all Marrakesh has to offer

Cons: I didn't like the location. The breakfast was also not good for me and my family. There were no varieties it was the same thing every day. I got tired and couldn't eat again. This is a wonderful, elegant and very friendly Riad. As first time visitors to Morocco the staff made us feel very welcome and made everything simple. Said even added on an additional room to our booking to make sure we were comfortable. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The rooftop breakfast was varied, fresh and very tasty. We had an evening meal too which was really delicious and a good, mixed menu. Located cery close to the souks and really, yet just enough space from the heart of it all tk breath. Honestly, this is a fantastic place. Recommend with no hesitation. Shukran!!

We’ve just returned from our second stay at the beautiful Riad Karmela, and once again we were made to feel like family. From the moment we arrived, the team went above and beyond to make our trip unforgettable. Majid greeted us with a big smile and kindly helped with our luggage. Fatima took care of all our bookings and paperwork so smoothly, making everything stress-free. Hakim was always there to help, no matter what we needed, and nothing was ever too much trouble. Said, with his knowledge and helpful nature, always had a solution for anything we asked. And we can’t forget the amazing ladies, Lubna and Nora, who made our anniversary breakfast so special—it was such a thoughtful and memorable touch. Riad Karmela is more than just a place to stay; it’s a home away from home where you’re welcomed with open arms and treated with true Moroccan hospitality. We can’t wait to come back again! Joe India

The room size was perfect with ample space for three of us and our luggage. Wardrobe space was fair but instead of a small stand a proper dressing table would have been better. The room is very traditional but kept clean. The a/c was perfect not too cold and kept us from remembering it was high 30’s in Marrakech while we were there! Thank you so much to the staff for meeting our request for a bathroom with a douche, we were so pleased and relieved as initially we were informed bathrooms didn’t have a douche. Everything in the bathroom was clean but it could do with refreshing. The grout on the tiles behind the sink was coming away and the taps were a bit creaky. The thing we really missed was not having a mini fridge in the room. My daughter stayed at a riad last year with a fridge in the room so I know that riads do have them in the room. For the the beds were perfect and I slept very well. But my daughter found hers too hard. Breakfast was alright, what we liked was that there was always freshly squeezed orange juice, mint tea and tiny desserts that were delicious. The toiletries are nice, I loved both the shampoo and body wash, they had a lovely scent and my hair felt clean but in a great state. Normally even the branded stuff we find in hotels in other countries are lacking. The staff were friendly too. Asking the hotel to organise taxis to and from the airport made that so much easier than if we had try to get there ourselves.
Cons: The room service and breakfast could be hit and miss. E.g for the first two days we didn’t get any bottles of drinking water. On the third day we found a bottle of water when we returned to our room. When we mentioned this to the night manager he said we could have the extra bottles whenever we wanted, no apology. On the plus side he would happily exchange our room temp water for refrigerated or even an icy bottle. He was otherwise really nice too. We also only had two of everything instead of for three people, so two towels, one each of shampoo and body wash. Once the maids realised we started getting three towels but toiletries were hit and miss - some days they weren’t replaced or topped up at all. We asked for the bedsheets to be changed towards the end as we had been staying for nearly a week and were there for 8 days in total but the sheet wasn’t changed. We had to ask a maid when we got back. She changed it but didn’t seem too happy. Also the floors are marble and a hazard when wet. My husband slipped a number of times on wet patches, once when the cleaner was cleaning. Why not wait to clean public areas such as the route to the breakfast area until all guests have finished? Which reminds me - breakfast is served on the rooftop which is accessible by some very steep steps. I wish I had measured the depth of these steps - they were easily over 40cm each, perhaps steeper. The communal areas on the ground floor were a bit shabby chic, no a/c in the internal areas just a pedestal fan. I think I saw one tv in the entire riad. I realise you stay at riads for the experience but I was still surprised at the lack of tvs in the rooms. Its not as if the Riad Karmela is low budget accommodation. Also no tea or coffee in the room Overall we enjoyed staying, the main issue was the location. Jamaa el F’naa is about 12-15 minutes walk through the medina so not far and there are a number of routes to get there.

A primera hora faltaban muchos alimentos.

just wow! right in the heart of the medina, we found Riad Karmela to be a peaceful oasis of calm. Staff and service are exceptional. Breakfast on the roof had so much choice from freshly cooked eggs, to meats, cheese, fruits, juice and pastries. plenty of shade on the roof terrace from the heat and several small pools to dip into to help cool down. daily bottle of water left in the room was very much appreciated.
Cons: it would have been lovely to have had a kettle in the room to make coffee.

If ever a recommendation is needed, then it has to be for the RIAD Karmela in the heart of the Medina. Our first time to Marrakesh & our first time staying in a RIAD. Well travelled around the world and I have to say Karmela is probably one of the best places we have stayed. It’s beautifully laid out over a number of flows and has doorways into hidden gems, including Karmela Princess to which we were upgraded to. The staff are the pride of the place, every member of staff is kind, extremely friendly, hard working and attentive to all of your needs… we had a number of problems linked to our travel company and unrelated to the hotel but the staff where always there to help. Don’t be put off by the location as this only adds to its charm & appeal, it’s a wonderful oasis hidden from the madness of the main square. Will certainly visit here again, thank you for making our stay a pleasant & memorable one.

The perfect place to stay in Marrakesh. A tranquil paradise in the middle of the chaos of the Medina. Highly recommend. Loved all of the detail of the architecture, the decor, the furnishings. The location is ideal. And the staff, wow, the Karmela staff are the nicest, kindest, most accommodating human beings. And the A/c was great even in the summer heat. We stayed at the Riad Karmela for four nights at the beginning of June and can't recommend it highly enough. A real hidden gem. Excellent location. Close to the main souks and around 10-15 mins walk to Jamaa el-Fnaa. The standard of the accommodation was excellent. Clean and very well run with friendly, polite and attentive staff. We would definitely return if we were to visit Marrakech again.

Exceptional riad in a lovely authentic part of Marrakech, our room with balcony onto courtyard was so beautiful! Great breakfast with lots to choose from, walkable location, staff were outstanding, kind and friendly, special thanks to Said who made us feel so welcome, nothing was too much trouble. We had the most perfect few days in Marrakech, we love Morocco, but now we love it even more, we can't wait to be back, thank you Raid Karmela for a wonderful stay!

Great address, clean and comfortable bedding, well-insulated room despite being in the city, the breakfast is extraordinary, sweet and savory, the staff is really very welcoming. I think it's one of the best Riyadhs I've been to in Marrakech, I will definitely go back.

Our stay at Riad Karmela was, without a doubt, a five-star experience, primarily due to the incredible team and the breathtaking beauty of this historic riad. From the moment we stepped inside, we were enveloped in genuine Moroccan hospitality that made our trip truly unforgettable. The heart and soul of Riad Karmela are its staff. I must begin by highlighting Mohammed; what a truly great person he is. His smile was constant and genuinely warm, and he consistently went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and offer assistance with such a pleasant demeanor. He is a real gem. Following closely in their exceptional service were Amin and Ayoub, who were always ready with helpful advice, a friendly chat, or assistance with any request – nothing was too much trouble. The warmth extended throughout the riad. Lobnah and Nora, along with all the other wonderful ladies at the breakfast buffet, started each day with a delightful spread and even more delightful smiles and attentive service. The front desk staff were a bastion of helpfulness, with a special mention to Saeed, who was fantastic in organizing excursions and providing local insights. And one cannot forget the meticulous care taken by the ladies cleaning the rooms. Every day, we returned to a perfectly clean, fresh, and beautifully presented room – a testament to their hard work and attention to detail. Beyond the exceptional service, Riad Karmela itself is a stunning example of historic Moroccan architecture. The intricate tilework, peaceful courtyards with their gentle fountains, and beautifully decorated common areas transport you to another era. Every corner reveals a new detail to admire, creating an atmosphere of tranquility and authentic charm amidst the vibrant energy of the Medina. If you are looking for an authentic Marrakech experience with unparalleled service and a truly beautiful historic setting, look no further than Riad Karmela.

We stayed at the Riad Zineb, part of the Riad Karmela group, so there is a separate review of our hotel, but we did eat at the rooftop terrace restaurant at Karmela a couple of times. Karmela offers an international menu, and a Moroccan menu, and we went for the Moroccan one both times, as it was so good! Lovely setting, excellent food, great staff, and we discovered the "grey" wine, Pinot Gris, which is somewhere between a white and a rose - very nice indeed! Special thanks to Ayoub and Amine, who made our last night there really special - thank you! The Riads are beautiful, but the staff make it special, and all the staff were really helpful during our stay.

In the middle of the Medina! Very friendly staff. The interior is beautiful! The food is excellent!! What more to wish? Nothing!
Cons: One small point: The live music (great performance!) during diner is very dominant and a chat at the table is difficult. Maybe it can be turned down during the service.

Beautiful building with lovely sun terrace. Great breakfast and very helpful staff. We really appreciated the escorts from the hotel to the taxi. Also grateful for the extra effort in providing an early breakfast.

Fabulous Riad! It is actually 3 properties with so many beautiful spaces to relax, 3 rooftop plunge pools, 1 larger indoor pool with chaise lounge chairs scattered over the many terrace levels. Entire staff were so friendly making us feel very welcome. Mohammed’s energy was amazing and always asking what we might need. From our arrival where we were met by a guide/wagon for our luggage to arranging our tuk-tuk on the way out, everything was taken care of. The food we had during our stay was so good with many choices at breakfast. We opted to take book 2 dinners at the riad and both meals were delicious, service outstanding & live music on weekends was just icing on the top! Rooms were beautiful with large bathrooms. Absolutely recommend staying here!
Cons: Our only comment would be for the mattresses to be firmer.

Cons: The shower drain didn’t work. The room was very small with dim lighting. Too much noise. You could hear the staff putting away silverware for example and people just outside the room. Didn’t have the traditional homey riad feel. Breakfast was a large spread but not very fresh.

The communal spaces are lovely, with trees, little birds singing, comfortable seating, and even a couple of tortoises! Breakfast buffet was good.
Cons: The Riad is hidden away - you have to go down an alleyway and through dirty hanging curtains to reach it. Once there, it became apparent that we were in one of their cheaper rooms. While the communal areas are lovely, our room was less so. There was insufficient lighting. The bathroom doors didn't close properly. The sink and toilet were in need of improvement. There was no plug in the hand basin and there was a something strange in the centre of the plug hole. Was it corrosion? I didn't want to poke it to find out. The reception staff were very cold in their manner throughout our stay.

I don't think I have enough words or the ability to explain just how wonderful our stay at Riad Karmela was. The whole time I was there I felt like I was at home, nothing was ever a problem and we were treated with the utmost respect and care. It became almost like a sanctuary after our days of exploring, to come back to. The courtyard was peaceful and my favourite place to relax. With regards to general feedback, the check in process was smooth. We were offered many options of excursions and we were able to have an amazing traditional Hammam experience within the Riad itself, which was very convenient. Breakfast every morning had plenty of varieties. There was always food and drinks available, and we had some delicious food both at lunch and dinner. Huge compliments to the chef! At dinner time there was sometimes a guitarist who was very pleasant to listen to. Our room was spacious and traditional and always cleaned. They ensured that my friend and I were safe (being two young girls) and escorted us to and from taxi's at night-time (a grateful mention to Ibrahim who did this for us many times), as well as arranging taxi's for us. They were patient with our requests and nothing was ever an inconvenience for them. The location was amazing as it was a very short walk to the main square and surrounded by souks. I have to pay a special reference to some of the staff members of whose names I can remember (apologies if I have spelt anyone's name wrong). The thing that struck me the most about the staff was that they were always smiling. I have never experienced customer service like it. They had this warm energy about them which makes the Riad feel like a home. Fatima who works at the front desk is a wonderful person. She was so thoughtful and kind and she gave us many suggestions on places to eat and see. She really understood our taste. When I had an allergic reaction, she helped me to get the correct medication. She was honestly one of the best things about my trip and I am happy to have met her. She is an asset to the Riad. The other staff members Majid, Amine, Mohammed and Hakim to name a few were all very caring and went above and beyond to make us have a good time and to help us feel comfortable at all times. I can't say thank you enough to them. They are all incredibly hard-working and humble people. I will never forget the memories I had in this place. I wish the best for everybody working here as they truly deserve it. The owner has really created a special and memorable place with Riad Karmela and he should be proud of everyone there. I would be honoured to have the pleasure to visit again :) I would recommend Riad Karmela to anybody who wants to have a true authentic and homely experience in Morocco.

The staff went above and beyond - so attentive. Fabulous location for wandering around The Medina itself and transfers for day trips. All food very good quality. Such a calm and beautiful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the streets. Relaxing on the sun terrace - so peaceful.
Cons: The only negative point was the airport transfer on day 1. I think we got through the airport far quicker than is normal so our driver appeared to be late and then didn't have a placard with the Riad Karmela name. Our phones weren't working to call the Riad so we asked a very helpful Club Med agent to help and he connected us with our driver. This did all take almost an hour so ensure you have a working sim on landing as once out of the airport, they don't let you back in for the Wi-Fi.

I had a very pleasant stay at Riad Karmela during my visit to Marrakesh and I would like to thank the lovely staff at the Riad for this. Fatima at reception was absolutely amazing- very friendly, professional and helpful with great recommendations for everything from shopping to restaurants that were vegetarian friendly. Thank you Fatima! Amine-where to begin for Amine! We absolutely love Amine. He is very professional and friendly. He made sure my friend and I were looked after at all times and made us feel at home. Special thank you to Amine! Riad Karmela would not be the same without you. Not to forget the rest of the staff! Majid, Mohammed and lastly Hakim- who worked the night shifts and organised our nightly taxis, security at night, breakfast for early morning check out- very hard working and made sure my friend and I were safe when travelling to and from places in the evenings. The food was also delicious at the Riad- we regularly had lunch and a couple of dinners (thank you to the chef- apologies I cannot remember your name) I would highly recommend Riad Karmela!

Ideally located in the centre of the medina, this was our third year staying in one of the Karmela riads. The room was spacious, the breakfasts were fine, and the staff as always were excellent.

Plenty of space in the room plus a private terrace on the roof of the room and a terrace in front of the room - kind of cool. Rustic feel to everything. Quiet. Food was good. Very nice place.
Cons: They seem unable to remember anything. We were told that we should arrange the transport from the airport through them. So we asked for it using 3 different channels (booking, email and something else). But nothing was organized and when we called from the airport it was like: huh? you asked? really? Same happened next day to our friends. And when we asked for a guided trip for the next day, they forgot about it as well. On the good side, they try to fix things quickly.

We were treated like family staying in a guest house. The level of service was unbelievable and the food checked all the boxes. There is nightly music by a guitar player, and wood burning fire places for a romantic evening in from the chaos of the Medina. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else in Marrakech! Our apartment was spacious and we had a private roof terrace space. Thank you Riad KARMELA for making us feel welcomed and like family!

In the centre of the frantic Medina, the Riad is an oasis of peace. We ate here every night, good choice of delicious food and local wine. Large room on the ground floor, a bit noisy but ok, and the rooftops were stunning. My top marks go to ALL the staff, so helpful, friendly and very welcoming, you have only to ask. Trips arranged by the Riad were really good and we visited most of the “sights” on foot, and didn’t get lost. P S. re the Medina, very bad fumes from mopeds etc , if you have ANY respiratory issues.

The staff were excellent, always attentive to our every needs.
Cons: We felt the breakfast and evening meal timings could have been better, for the breakfast was 0800 until 1000hrs, we like to have ours earlier, but getting the message across was often difficult through the staff, as the breakfast team were not informed by the main staff. The evening meals begin at 1930hrs, and, guests must pre order meals at least 24hrs before, again we felt that a strange requirement, as often guests want to change thier minds at the table, and we like to sit down for evening meals for around 1830hrs latest...whilst the team accommodated our timing request, we saw many guests who were unaware that if special request timing for the evening meal was communicated, then such would be possible. The breakfast on the last day was slightly disappointing with no fresh bread until late into the service, and no hot water for tea, until I pointed out the urn was not switched on.

Our family, me, my husband and our children (15, 15 and 5 years old) went to Marrakech for the first time. We arrived late at night and it was a bit stressful to get to the Riad after dark. But we had a guide from the Riad that picked us up and showed us the way. Once inside the Riad Karmela it felt lika an oasis. Peaceful, welcoming, beautiful and comfortable. We stayed in two different family rooms (since we had a trip to the desert in between). The family rooms has two bedroom and that was perfect for our family. Such cute and picturesque rooms! Very comfortable. It felt like we wanted to stay in the Riad the whole time. Staff was helpful and attentive. We enjoyed this beautiful Riad Karmela with everything in it. The food, the comfortable and beautiful rooms, all of the common areas inside and on the roof ( so cozy), the hospitality and great service. Thank you for a great stay! Simply fabulous group of Riads in an excellent location in the Medina. Extremely tranquil Riad that is beautifully and sympathetically decorated to the traditions, incredibly helpful kind friendly staff. Roof top restaurant is beautiful. Loved every aspect of this place.

One of the best breakfasts ever. Eating on the roof top in small scattered eating areas was lovely. There plenty of choice- fruit, eggs, pastries, ham cheese and freshly ground coffee!
Cons: I don’t think it could be improved upon. Staff were amazing and so friendly, they couldn’t do enough for us.

Fantastic stay at this beautiful and well located Riad. It is an elegant oasis of calm in the heart of the busy Medina. Our room was perfect and the private roof garden wonderful. The staff were amazing, friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and helpful. They really looked after us and are an absolute credit to the hotel. We will definitely be back, thank you.

The hotel was generally very clean and nice. The staff were so helpful and attentive. Big room and lovely courtyard in the Riad where they had dinner and live music in the evenings. The rooftop was so special, there are sunbeds and multiple seating areas to watch sunset (or sunbathe) and escape the busy Medina. Also a good coffee machine at breakfast!! Which is very hard to find in Morocco!!
Cons: The facilities could be better- no pool or gym or extra facilities. Temperamental water/shower temperature but the plumping in the Medina is notoriously bad.

The location and cleanness is good. I was happy to get water for free.
Cons: We couldn’t use our mobile phone comfortably because of Wi-Fi. And it was too cold to enjoy pool. And the pools are different with our expectations. More smaller and not clean.

Beautiful riad with friendly staff and good food. Our room was huge with an enormous, comfortable four poster bed, double sinks, walk in shower and great storage to unpack. Location was fantastic, being in the medina but at the edge so that it really is quiet when inside the riad. Dinner and breakfast are very good. Roof terrace with sunbeds for sunbathing. Everything was spotlessly clean.

The staff, especially those involved with serving breakfast and dinner, were absolutely fantastic, with a special mention of the tall, skinny Mohammad, who was lovely. Also, the staff in the spa were wonderful. My husband and I had a wonderful hammam and massage right in the privacy of the riad, and I highly recommend it. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it.
Cons: There was some confusion over where the robes for our hammam would be found, but someone eventually got some for us. It wasn't a big problem.

We were at Riad Karmela in February 2024. The Karmela riad is very beautiful, comfortable and very well located, just a few minutes from the city's main attractions. The management team and staff are very attentive and helpful. We always had dinner at the riad, after a day of exploring the city, because the food at dinner, typically Moroccan, is very good. The breakfast, a mix of international and Moroccan, is also very good. We really enjoyed it and will be back with the kids.
Cons: We liked everything

Riad Karmela was great! The staff were excellent and were always available. we were staying in the mini princess 3 room riad. Breakfast was very good each morning pick up and drop off at the airport was also very convenient Walking distance to most places as well
Cons: I think this is just becuase it is morocco but things were a bit dusty! Also we were not expecting it but our riad also had a kitchen in the ground floor which was accesssed by the staff on a regualr basis. This meant that we didnt have 100% privacy during our stay there but to be honest the staff were not really in our way.

Riad is beautiful and well kept and has a very relaxing atmosphere. The location was excellent. When we first arrived, the staff were very welcoming and explained everything to us. Staff were very friendly, caring and helpful, always on hand and attentive to what you need, especially when my daughter was ill, supported with giving medication and cooking food off the menu.
Cons: Some guests were smoking in the courtyards which was off putting, would have been helpful to have a designated smoking area.

Everything was perfect from start to finish. From day one the staff was exceptional. They organised a taxi to pick us up from the airport as we arrived very late and we even had someone waiting to escort us the last meters through the old town which is inaccessible for cars. Throughout the stay the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, exceeding expectations. They gave us recommendations, ordered local transport, booked restaurants and even served early breakfast for us when we had a bus to catch. The riad itself is very beautifully decorated, the rooms exactly match the descriptions. Breakfast on the terrace was very nice too and the dinner they serve in the riad is delicious. Location is great for visiting all the main attractions of Marrakech. Couldn't have stayed at a better riad for our vacation!

The hotel is well located, right in the center of the medina, a short distance from the Jemma El Fna square. The staff was very attentive, the room was spacious and had the charm of the Riad. Lovely environment and very good food. Our favorite part was the live music at night in the central courtyard. We also really enjoyed spending time on the rooftop overlooking the old town.
Cons: Staff could have been a bit more attentive and perhaps walk around every now and then to check if we needed anything. We would have to go to the reception every time we wanted something. Sometimes would have to ask two or three times before we got something. We noticed that dirty cups and glasses were left sitting around in the communal areas way after the people using them had left.

The staff were absolutely incredible. They went above and beyond from the moment you step in the riad. Cannot say enough how helpful and friendly they were. Helped us organize onwards transport to imlil as well. The location is really great. The main riad is very beautiful, with lots of little cozy side spota. In general, great value for money in a great location with amazing staff!
Cons: The riad is relatively busy- they have four different buildings and it is quite popular. If you are looking for quiet and intimate, it might not be this place. Three things are what made Karmela a fantastic place for us. 1. The service we received from everyone in the hotel was OUTSTANDING, it went far and beyond our expectations. 2. The location is VERY good. 3. Breakfast is great! I went there with my wife, and arrive at 2am. Riad Karmela arrange a taxi for us and prepaid it, and when we arrive at the taxi stop, there was someone from the riad waiting to take us from the taxi stop to the riad at 2AM! (because the riad is in the middle of La Medina, where taxis can not enter). Amazing place, will definitely go back.

dinner ambiance at Riad Karmela
Cons: I booked Riad Karmela but once arrived was booked into Riad Karmela Princess. I pointed this out but was told a bunch of roads were all owned by the same company and 'it was ok' . Our room was not what I booked, The bathroom was extremely dated. It felt like a hostel, very noisy, voices until late coming up through atrium. So if you like huddle and bussel this might be ok for you. The decor was also extremely cluttered but if you like a more bohemian vibe this might work.

The location of the property just perfect for riad experience. Staff was very welcoming and very friendly. They have never say no kind of attitude. Kitchen team also very accommodating, literally adjusting recipes according to your need and taste.
Cons: They don’t have any entertainment programs to keep kids engaged. So kids may not like this riad setup. All the pictures posted on website are from riad karmela which different from riad princess karmela. They should advertise all karmela riads separately. They shouldn’t surprise clients allocating different riads at last minute. Breakfast option very basic and simple and bit slow. They should be very quick.

What a wonderful experience. Beautiful Riad. Exceptional customer service. There wasn’t anything that we ask for that wasn’t accommodated. Met us at our drop off point in the Medina and escorted us & our bags through the maze to reach the most peaceful & beautiful court yard. My husband required a prescription filled, and although it was Sunday & most pharmacies were closed, the front desk sent a man out & got it filled - no problem. We wanted to watch the World Cup - no problem - they escorted us to a Riad with a big screen. All in all, a wonderful experience. Thank you.

Riad Karmela offers beautiful and unique rooms- it's like staying in Aladdin's cave. Staff is super kind, welcoming and very helpful. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace is great for starting a day. Located right in the middle of Medina of Marrakech, which was exactly what we were looking for. Despite the busy location, Riad Karmela is peaceful and quiet- my friends and I called it an oasis of peace. I'll definitely recommend it. I absolutely fell in love with this place!

The friendly helpful staff, the location, the cleanliness, everything was exceptional! Everyone was so thoughtful, helping us to get to know Marrakech and going out of the way to make our experience a great one. The hammam spa with Fatima was wonderful and just what is needed after a long day in the busy medina. The terrace view especially was lovely and the location ideal for sightseeing and shopping. Would definitely stay here again!

Riad Karmela is a gem in the Medina close to the vegetable and spice markets. A very good base to explore all the attractions in Marrakech. They made me feel so at home and I very much enjoyed my stay there. With the hidden beautiful courtyards it is an oasis amidst the hustle of the old town. You can book tours and transfers directly with them which is very convenient. My room was fantastic by the way.

Cons: You booked this RIAD and they told you everything is ready but when you arrived they said no twin beds and transfer you to the neighborhood RIAD run by the same boss but the style of the building and room is different. Nothing serious but maybe could be improved.
