We stayed here for a couple of days before our Intrepid tour and a couple of days afterwards. The rooms are variable, some fine, others not. Staff were inconsistent- some quite helpful, others rude and unhelpful. No filtered water available to guests. They just point vaguely in the direction of nearby shops and cafes if you need water or coffee even if you arrive late evening. We had difficulty with our prearranged transport to airport on our last morning and were unable to call anyone with our data only eSIMS. When we asked Reception for help they were dismissive as it wasn’t their problem. Even though they get a lot of business through the tour companies that arrange transfers. Returning to Reception 10 minutes later we were fortunate to encounter a different person who kindly agreed to make calls for us and sorted things out.

This is a scam hotel! Never ever come!!! We booked two double rooms. When we arrived in the afternoon, they lied, claiming that the rooms had no electricity. They told us they had a 'better' hotel for us, but they ended up taking us to a motel that looked like a refugee camp, right next to a construction site. We refused to check in, but they wouldn't refund the money and insisted we file a complaint with Agoda. Agoda was just as useless, using a stalling tactic with a non-stop, repetitive AI customer service loop—delaying, delaying, and delaying everything. They rigidly insisted on waiting for a call or email reply from this fraudulent riad before proceeding, dragging it out from 'wait ten minutes,' to 'wait one day,' to 'wait two days,' and finally to 'wait for the riad reply,' until we heard absolutely nothing. They are just as despicable as the scamming motel! They have clearly become an accomplice to this fraud!

The experience was just ok. The rooms need some upgrading. The bathrooms were nice. The breakfast was a bunch of bread products so I wish there would have been some warm food.

I booked a three nights in Moroccan House Hotel in Marrakech, two nights through booking.com and one night through different site. Breakfast was included as it stated. To my shock the 2 nights paid to booking.com did not include breakfast despite paying more throughout these scammers. Management at this hotel is poor, inhospitable and pathetic. Even the man working in the restaurant upstairs is a grumpy, stingy and angry. The only kind person working at reception was Salah, the female receptionist is a horrible person, and has no manner in hospitality. Hotel is nicely decorated, mattresses and pillows are like concrete. Unpleasant experience in this hotel.

I feel terrible writing this but honestly others do need to know before coming here. We came with our toddler and it just wasn’t safe to stay. The bathroom had toilet roll on the floor when we got there and the bath/shower was covered in black mould. The beds and pillows were like solid lumps of rock which would have been manageable had it not been for the mould everywhere. The design of the bathroom was such that if you wanted to use the toilet, you had to sit at an angle because the sink unit was so big and in the way. We complained about the mould and got upgraded to a suite. When we went up to see it, it smelled like a gas leak or something like that. Really not nice. So we left and went elsewhere to stay. The staff were nice, the decor is pretty although the whole place needs renovating, but unfortunately it just wasn’t a good stay for us.

Upon arrival, there was a young man in the receptions, neither a smile or good treatment, he only gives you instructions, as you don't have breakfast, you have to leave at 12 o'clock, knowing that the doorman was a good and good young man, you feel that you are inside a prison institution, not a tourist, instead of what we are used to from the same chain of Moroccan house, such as Casablanca, on the contrary, a smile, good treatment and provision of services from arrival to departure, so I had to change the hotel to Opera Plasa, treated like princes and a little difference in price

The property was in poor condition overall. The air conditioning didn’t work properly. after reporting the issue, a staff member attempted to fix it, and while it blew cold air briefly, it quickly returned to pumping out hot air. The bathroom was in terrible shape. The shower head holder wasn’t properly attached, making it unusable, and half of the shower screen was missing, causing water to flood the entire bathroom. Unsurprisingly, there was mould throughout. The bedding was dirty and torn. There were no towels in the room upon arrival, and it took 90 minutes and three trips to reception before we finally received some. The room was also (inexplicably) poor lit with only one bulb in the 5 available ceiling lights. Other travellers mentioned that some rooms have been renovated, so perhaps we were just unlucky. Unfortunately, we were told we couldn’t change rooms. We were booked for two nights but have decided to leave early and find alternative accommodation.

The hotel while may be traditional is in great deal of an upgrade. It's very dated with grubby bathrooms that I didn't even want to shower in. The window/door to a very small balcony that was cluttered with rubble and dirty, but we couldn't open the door anyway for air as there was a bed overhanging the door. The decor again whilst traditional is in need of updating. The mattress and pillow is ridiculously hard. The area of the hotel is close to the shops however it's not the nicest of areas with rubbish thrown around the streets outside the hotel and cars and mopeds everywhere, broken pavements doesn't set A great scene for the hotel. Pool is very cold and shaded most of the time due to high rise buildings/wall around it. There's a very strong overpowering smell of food throughout the day within the hotel. I suppose you get what you pay for when you book a mystery holiday and don't take all the 20 different added extras they try to add on. Would not return to this hotel.

For the price, I thought the hotel was great. It was clean, friendly and had everything we needed. If you’re looking for luxury then this is not for you but if you’re looking for cheap and cheerful then I highly recommend. Great location too, walking distance to the Medina and lots of restaurants.

It is a pretty good location, relatively clean but smelly. Food is a very poor choice. The staff speaks limited English, and the service is average altogether. Generally, it’s an average-budget hotel; don’t expect too much to avoid disappointment.

Lovely property in decent location. Breakfast good and staff helpful. Decent room service and clean. Our room was ok but needing a little attention - broken lock, lights not working etc. But for price and somewhere to sleep it was fine.

The hotel is very uniquely decorated in a Moroccan style. The hotel is a bit basic by Western European standards but it was fine. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We felt very safe there . The breakfast was a plentiful buffet style but if you have the evening meal option just be aware that there’s no choice, they just bring it out!! Ok location , easy to get a taxi to and from the airport and about a 35 minute brisk walk to the main square and souk. The 24 hour reception area was a really helpful feature and nothing was too much trouble. There’s a handy little shop over the street to buy bottled water, snacks and toiletries.

We booked this hotel as part of a Thomas Cook package - but I did look at Trip Advisor first, to make sure it would be okay. The staff at this hotel were absolutely lovely. They were friendly, knowledgeable and generally helpful. We booked half board and the dinners - traditional tagline meals - were very good. The hotel is very basic, which I was happy with. The beds were comfortable, and the room and bathroom clean (and cleaned daily). The hotel is also in a great location. We were only there for a city break and could walk to the Medina and to the Jardin Majorelle. The reason for my 3 stars is that I'm not sure where other reviewers took their photos... Our room certainly didn't look anything like the photos taken. No lovely Moroccan touches like intricate headboards or four poster canopies, just a very, very basic room. The hotel had a slightly run down feeling: the glass in the window of our room had a crack in it, one of the mirrors on the stairs was cracked. The shower was rather weak and there were bits and pieces of old equipment lying around (e.g., a disused coffee machine). Much of the place felt a little unloved. I'd like to repeat that the staff were great and the rooms were clean - so if this is what you're looking for, go for it.

We had a clean bright room (no.12), everything in working order. Safe in room for small daily charge which we used. Pretty character windows and double glazing beyond to keep the hustle and bustle out at night. Could do with more bedside lighting to soften the room. We had a double and a single bed in our room. Both v comfortable. Bathroom looked recently updated. Loo had a little problem on arrival but was quickly fixed. Sink had a crack in it. Breakfast on roof terrace was simple but tasty. Pastries, msemmen pancakes, omelets freshly cooked and small local fresh cooked pastries which i think contained minced chicken were lovely. Yoghurt, fruit, juices, tea and coffee on offer. Reception spoke good enough english alongside French and Arabic and were friendly and helpful. We didn’t have dinner in the hotel. The common parts were decorated in local furnishings and were very pretty. Lights on floors had timers but there were buttons to put them back on near every door. The lift worked every time but as we were first floor we took the stairs often - strangely the stairwell got shorter the further down you went! Outside the hotel was in a busy neighborhood, close to very good restaurants, shops and lots of facilities. In the same road were some restaurants and what looked like a club. This meant there were always people around even later in the evening. The hotel is more of a guest house and is simple but effective. We used it as a base for sightseeing and pretty much slept and ate breakfast in it. Our room was spotlessly clean and the aircon worked well. Some fixtures were a little tired but the whole place was charming. The hotel is out of the main town however we walked in and out daily. We got one taxi home which was approx. £8 and we didn't haggle. You could go metered if you preferred. Walking into town was through the 1920s French district of Gueliz where you could pick out old buildings and art deco features. It was almost one straight road into the main square. Close by were high street brand shops and eateries. We never felt unsafe anywhere in Marrakech and we walked miles through souks, back lanes, main roads and alleyways, often getting lost in the process! Google maps is your go to friend as the place is a maze. Do not expect alcohol except in some restaurants. Within the Medina we found none but instead enjoyed the huge array of teas, coffees, juices and mocktails on offer. We ate once in the main square at a stall but thought we had better food in the souk itself. Seek out beautiful gems as you wander. Crossing the road is an artform which we quickly learned but locals were happy to help and be tagged along with for safety!

I am a vegan and a friend booked me a stay in a hotel in Morocco, where very few people have heard of vegans or get the logic. I decided to be vegetarian. Easier to explain. And I wrote it in arabic on a T shirt. Breakfast was quite easy for a veggie and rather good - a buffet of things like tomato on the roof of the building. Most people choose the covered part. Dinner is a rare choice of thee of four groups of guests hoping to save a bit of cash and probably on some deal or other. Soup. Something in a pot. Banana or youghurt. All very cheap compared to going-out. First two courses meat because this is Morocco. I did not expect a change to veganism because this is Morocco and the chef was very helpful in getting some dishes together that just had vegetables. One night he even did a big thing on couscous, but I did not eat much so he left it simpler most nights. All a great experience and I hope to be back if there is any excuse. I have not read the other reviews but guess most people like this hotel because of helpful staff and low km walking distance to the old town, and neighbouring west-end bars that a guide book can find you here but not in the older town. This is in the more western and expensive part of town. Some people might find the Maroccan House Hotel a bit too rustic and think the repairs are not quite keeping pace with the wear and tear. For example our first night saw us re-located to another good hotel 50m away, for reasons unknown, but the rooms were clean and the linen immaculate. Oh, about the old town, we popped into a hotel on the main square and saw rooms at 1000 MAD a night (have I got a zero wrong?) with access to shared showers, no pool, and a set-up rather like British Rail in the UK in the 1960s. I guess it would have been expensive to stay there because of the need to be out all the time and not eating or round a pool, but it's another option. Anyway, it was great to stay at the Moroccan House Hotel I have never been to a hotel with a swimming pool before, open about 10-6 with sun loungers. What a great idea! You can do nothing! It seemed indulgent. Some poeple might notice that shower and loo near the pool which needed redecorating so they locked it! But there is an open air shower next to the pool if you want to wash off sweat before diving in.

Don’t be put off by other reviews! We have just returned from our 4 night stay at the Moroccan house & we couldn’t fault it! Check in was so easy and all of the staff were so lovely. The hotel offers a beautiful entrance and lobby. There are both stairs and two lifts to meet all needs when travelling through the floors. We stayed on the 1st floor, we did have worries about the cleanliness of the hotel due to the reviews we read, but as soon as we opened the door, all of the anxiety surrounding that melted away. The room was clean, with crisp white sheets (I was half expecting thick fusty sheets from some of the reviews). The bathroom was clean. The only issue was a part of the shower was missing so we couldn’t change the shower to the big waterfall head, only the standard shower head. We did run into an issue with the fridge as the cable was visibly broken so we didn’t want to risk plugging it in. We made them aware at reception and they were quick to fix the issue! The hotel was lovely and quiet. No arguing staff like other reviews have stated. The floors are tiled and with that you do have to expect some noise from the floors above. We head upstairs move a piece of furniture probably 3 times during the stay. The breakfast was good for 50MAD pp. It wasn’t great for vegan options as I could only eat bread and jam, but my fiancé had beautiful pastries. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again.

I've had a short stay as a lone traveller in this hotel. The negative reviews are mostly undeserved. My experience is as follows: - It was more of a guesthouse than a hotel. There wasn't a lot of staff. The ones that were there were still excellent, especially the daytime female receptionist whose name I can't remember. Rachid was also very helpful, and the watchman sittting outside made you feel safe when going out for a cigarette at night. If you care about your overall trip more than the hotel, this is a good place. - While the decor was certainly neglected, the room was clean. There were no stains, bad smells or insects. The design was also pleasantly traditional. The way I see it is a small group of people trying to make a living and provide an authentic experience, and from this point of view, it was excellent. - The air con saved my life. The harsh Moroccan heat got to me on the first day and I refused to switch the air con off. - The place is close to the road and the traffic and all the honking was very notable (it's Morocco, after all), but this is nothing to do with the hotel - and while you could hear it all during the day, it wasn't massively disruptive at night. The whole building was quite acoustic - you could hear vaccuming, drilling and phone calls - but Morocco is generally a loud country. - The place is small, which is good for the peace - no shouty children etc. Other than myself, it was about 3 families + a bigger tour on the last day. - The food was a mixed bag. Breakfast was light, which I liked in the heat. Pastries were dry, but topped with the apricot jam, they were good, as well as the pancakes and semolina cake. There were olives, raisins, tomatoes, cheese, lettuce and ham for those who didn't like sugar. I don't understand the breakfast complaints - if all you want is an English breakfast, stay in the UK. The juice was good (cucumber or nettles, couldn't tell). Coffee was admittedly rough, but this was true for all of the coffee I had in Morocco - they like it strong. They did have a jar of instant coffee for those who found Moroccan coffee overpowering. For a small price of 10 DH (80p/1€), you could order a pot of mint tea, also nice. There were also lipton tea bags. The dinner experience varied. On my first and second day, it was all individually served dishes, and on the last, a buffet because of the larger tour. The bread they gave you in a basket on the first day tasted rather papery - I did also notice a few flies on it, although the entrance and windows downstairs were open all day, so they were most likely rogue flies from outside. On the first day, it was a soup of some kind (which was fine) and chicken with a few chips, which didn't feel appetising - bearing in mind I felt unwell on the first day due to the heat shock. Second day - the starter was a salad, which I left half-way through because I realised it had fish in it, and I don't like fish (that is of course on me, not the staff). The main was macaroni cheese with turkey, which was very good. Third day - a buffet with plenty of choice. I opted for a small plate of the very good spaghetti, because I was full from eating out a few hours beforehand - but if not for that, I would have certainly had more. - There was no indoor smoking (the terracr and outside by the entrace was for smoking) - which in Morocco is a novelty. - The riad was in a good walking proximity to the Carre Eden mall, Le Jardin Majorelle, the European Cemetery, the Church of the Martyr Saints and many shops and cash machines. There was a lot to see nearby if you didn't want a long walk. On the same road, there were two bars, two grocery shops and a sandwich shop. Like everywhere in Marrakech, taxis were in every corner, and if they didn't demand an extortionate fee, it was easy to find one if you wanted to go somewhere further away. - The roaming cats and locals relaxing outside and gossiping and chain-smoking added to the authentic experience of the country's culture. - They were economical with electricity. The corridors were not lit very well, the elevators didn't always work properly. In the room, the fuse for the air con and lights would get switched off by the housekeeper if you went out to not waste electricity - fair enough - but it was easy to get the hang of upon return. The buffet dinner food was kept hot using charcoal pots rather than heat lamps - but it stayed hot, and that's what matters. For a small business in any country, this is expected. - The staff were nice people, even though their English wasn't always a given. Rachid made sure I had transport to the airport when leaving. I left a box of crackers and 200 DH as a tip when checking out.

Flott dekorert.

Rude service from one of the reception guy. I forgot his name. He hassled me to pay taxes when checking in even though Expedia claimed to have included all taxes with the price. (Expedia please stop included hotel taxes as they all keep charging again). I was really tired and and he gave me so much hassle. He kept asking for this "voucher". I assumed he was referring to print outs of the hotel booking. I never had this sort of experience when checking in. I payed the hotel taxes again because I upper body was in pain from carrying my bags. The bed in my room was very uncomfortable and I just had a poor experience. I left after one night even though I had a four night stay. I asked Expedia for help and a partial refund but no one has got back to me. GO AND STAY IN A DIFFERENT HOTEL SUCH AS STARS HOTEL AND ENJOY YOURSELF.

When we returned to Marrakech after 3 years, we decided to return to the Moroccan House which we enjoyed so much then. In most ways we were pleased with our choice. The rooms are charming and the staff go out of their way to be helpful. However, in some minor ways the hotel is a bit tired - the taps in the bathroom needed two hands to turn them and never did shut off; tv reception is dismal; and most disappointingly, the breakfast was so unappetizing that we ate elsewhere after our first day.

I got a basement room where the heater wasnt working. Had to complain multiple times fo change room. My sister arrived two days later and even though she had paid for her room in advance they wanted to put her in a different hotel (??) and I wasnt happy about that. But they sorted it out after another long disscussion. The wifi was down more than an entire day which was very annoying. The hotel is in a safe area and has a traditional interior (although could use some more lighting here and there). The only positive was the guy working at the reception who was very friendly and nice.

The hotel is close to the train station and the airport is only a 20 minute taxi. The hotel needs some touching up as it it looking very tired and old. The toilet seat was broken, the telephone didn't work and the plug came away from the wall when I took my charger out. My pillow was like a brick but my friends was soft

Was infested with bed bugs. After first night went to front desk and said that our room had bedbugs. Showed staff my bites and was told they didn't know what bed bugs were. Next morning, at least the front desk staff knew about bed bugs and said they would fumigate the room.

It was disgusting. Booked two rooms, queen beds. Were given singles. Asked for the queen beds that they had confirmed, was told they don't have any. Go to the rooms. Shocked at the state of them. Absolute disrepair. As it was late at check in, had to stay. Could not shower as it was blocked and no hot water. Shocking. The electricity sockets were falling from wall. Very dirty everywhere. The only positive, a newish air-conditioning unit in room.

The staff are warm, caring, helpful with tourist questions and very efficient. The only problems are related to air conditioning which is unreliable. The pool is good in the heat. More chairs would be great. It’s a lovely place with a great location and a nice breakfast. Expectations need to be realist for family owned hotels. I stayed in both Marakesh and Casablanca ones and would recommend. Close to airport and they recommend good people if you ask for a tour of the city including the markets.

Great value and good location. Good for short stay. Tired looking rooms, need better maintenance but clean and spacious. Lobby is beautifully designed of traditional Moroccan zellige and riad style. Pool was clean and private. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Allowed me an earlier checkin time, often used by tour groups so can gets busy. Hotel in the new area of Gueliz. Plenty of good restaurants, cafes, and a mall around (I recommend Al Fassia and Hotel Caspian restaurant inside). Walkable to train station (approx 20mins) and even to the medina (approx 35mins).

Check-in was slow. Only me there but the lady behind the desk clearly fely her telephone conversation was far more important than checking in the guest standing in front of her. However once the owner/manager (not sure which) arrived she got on with it. Then i was taken to my room by the gentleman who was very polite and helpful. I have stayed in the sister hotel in Casablanca and i like the quirky ornamental style of the public areas and the rooms. Room was clean and a good size. The bathroom is a little tired and the shower took some trial and error to use but at the very reaaonable price it is good value for money. Great location, lots of places to eat on the doorstep, plenty of taxis around and qithin 20 minutes walk of the train station, the old city, Yves St Laurent Gardens etc

Our room was very tired looking. Fridge not working properly (froze everything), the safe didn't work, the extra door to the balcony couldn't shut due to the bed being in the way. No drinking glasses in the room, the sink and shower drainage was not good, If all three of us had a shower in a row the shower tray would fill up and leak through the bathroom and into the bedroom. There wasn't any drawers to put our clothes, we had to put them on the floor. All of this sounds bad but they were only minor faults, the room was clean and the service was excellent, the receptionist was very helpful. I would go back to this hotel.

Great hotel with a lot of Moroccan character. Service was easy and friendly. They helped us gladly in English. There is a included breakfast of pastries, cereals, coffee, crepes, etc. Bathroom was nice with a large shower and western style toilet. It is not super close to the old city, but it is easy to get a taxi or it is about a 20-30 min walk to get there. There are a lot of shops and restaurants nearby within an easy walking distance. Prove was very reasonable. My friend stayed with a kid and it worked out fine as well.

With the first minute we arrived to the hotel we felt very welcomed, Hassan was very helpful, taking our suitcases for us, we had very smooth check in and been shown to spacious, clean and comfortable room. The hotel is in very good location, in walking distance to many interesting places, we walk around the city with a pram every day. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we have not had any food apart from breakfast as our days were packed with lots of things which kept us away from the hotel, however the breakfast was great, tasty and plenty to choose from. To finalise, we had great time and would love to recommend the hotel to you.

Lovely staff at the hotel who really looked after all of us. They were very helpful and gave advice when asked., and very relaxed, kind and calm. Hotel was lovely and clean and the breakfast was good. We wanted to be away from the old part of the city but visit each day, and this hotel was perfectly situated for that, as it was only a 15 minute walk from the city walls. Great choice of nearby eateries; either expensive restaurants, or sit down fast food places, or moroccan cafes. Only downside that we hadn't taken into account was that the pool wasn't heated so unable to use at this time of year.

Easy to get to on No 19 bus from airport. Staff are fine and helpful, though it helps to speak French. The room was quite comfortable - decorated in traditional, colourful style. There was heating available which was necessary as it is quite cold in February. The only thing that did not work so well is the shower; it was difficult to regulate the temperature. All in all a very pleasant stay.

The riad is cute when you first walk in all colourful and bright however once in the rooms you can hear everything out in the hall so that makes for being woken up 3-10 times at various times every morning because it is so noisy with the doors and keys banging and you can hear everyone in the hallway. Also we were told we'd get a double bed but got two smurf sized beds instead. The room itself is okay, cute design, small beds an empty mini fridge and a toilet that runs all night. The shower on the other hand is ridiculous! It starts warm and powerful then to a cold drip then to boiling hot then back to powerful and cold.....horrible shower! Other than that its not too far from the main square by taxi.

Arrived and no room ready, placed in another hotel until the next day. This was a bit disappointing and no explanation given. However next day booked in officially and found the room acceptable and exactly as shown on website. No phones in the room however so if you needed anything had to go down to reception to get it. Reception was very good and extra towels and toilet paper was supplied immediately. Lights in the room not very bright, great for watching TV and just relaxing but not very good for reading. Staff always friendly even though sometimes had to use sign language to make ourselves understood, but all in the spirit of the adventure. The room and bathroom were spotless so this made everything acceptable. Breakfast was too much "cake" for me but others loved it.

Having stayed at various Hotels in Marrakech I found this hotel. A Gem as far as I am concerned. I have stayed several times & though cheaper than many hotels it's always very clean, air conditioning, complimentary items in clean bathroom, Soap, Razor, Shaving Cream, Toothbrush, Toothpaste & Shampoo). Lifts to upper floors & FREE WIFI. FRIDGE & SAFE in Rooms. Staff are helpful & can also arrange airport transfers at a reasonable price. Ideally located in quiet back street in Gueliz a modern part of Marrakech. Small shop opposite which stays open very late, it sells basic food & drinks. A Starbucks Coffee Shop & a large shopping centre is literally a 2 minute walk. With shops, Supermarket & food hall upstairs, also a few Moroccan restaurants & cafes nearby along with a McDonalds & KFC Jemma el Fna, the colourful main square is just a short bus or taxi ride away as are the Souks.I will be returning to Marrakech soon & will definitely be staying at this hotel again.

There was a mix up with my reservation, they spoke to the owner of the hotel and upgraded my room to a suite with every night complimentary dinner. Souad also called to make sure about my stay in their Casablanca branch hotel to receive the best of service, which I did. It was more than I expected for the price. The hotel is in a safe area (hard to find at night if not familiar), hotel is clean and employees are nice. Wifi barely works in rooms, you have to find the little spot where it barely works. Works well in lobby. 5th floor rooms are very noisy in the morning because breakfast is served right above and you will hear chair and tables being moved above your room starting at 6am. Would definitely stay there again!

The lobby and central parts of the hotel are strikingly beautiful and comfy. My triple room had three small beds and a balcony and large bathroom...but was somewhat of a disaster: Initially it was so garishly wild, I thought I'd move until I saw another room! You just wouldn't believe the leopard print comforters with matching pillow cases with the leopard's face right in your face! So I concentrated on the reproduction paintings and decorative appointments which really weren't so bad. When the night comes it gets cold in the off season and the room seems drafty and the floor is cold. The two worst things are the synthetic sheets, pillows and comforters which I always find make me "burn" and block my chi. After emails in advance and several attempts when I arrived I gave up on "c-o-t-o-n"... The other problem contributing to my insomnia was the incessant buzzing. As near as I can figure, when one turns on the bathroom light the tiny fan engages and buzzes more than it moves any air. It's loud and very annoying in my room, so I reach way up and turn on the tube light over the sink because the ceiling light is inadequate anyway...So, I believe, all through the hotel at all hours of the day and night people are turning on their little bathroom fans (or leaving them on) and setting up incessant buzzing that travels through the walls of the hotel. It was bad enough to complain to the management. They kept insisting it was my refridgerator...

Good experience at Morrocan House Hotel. Reasonable size room with en-suite, all very clean and reasonably well equipped (small fridge for drinks). Hotel staff very pleasant, happy to help and all spoke excellent English. Breakfast is very tasty, great choice and is served on the roof terrace. Good size pool, slightly hampered by high walls, so direct sunlight is limited. A great facility though. Hotel is in great location, about 1 mile outside Medina/Souks and lots of cafes, restaurants and shops in easy walking distance.

We booked this hotel/riad due to the good reviews we had seen. Unfortunately we had a somewhat different experience. The air conditioning was not working, the water was cold and to top it off we got stuck in the lift. All of these were fixed when we mentioned them but at no point did we get an apology. There was one particular member of staff who was extremely unfriendly and not at all accommodating. The walk to Medina was nearer 40 minutes rather than the 20 minutes we had read about and in 39 degree heat not a pleasant experience. I would not recommend this to anyone and I have never written a review before but felt so strongly about this given that it was other people's reviews that we went by when we booked it.

We only stayed one night, but the room was very comfortable although the decoration is a little crazy this is a bit part of its charm and makes this hotel much more interesting to stay in than a modern homogenous one, which many of the other hotels in this area appear to be. The breakfast on the roof in the morning was very good with lots of options. A good location in the modern part of the city if you think you would find the medina a little hectic, and it is only a few minutes walk from the restaurants etc of the main street although that makes it quite a walk into the medina and main square.

We had to change our booking for Marrakech because of a change in plans and this was one of the only hotels available for our booking but we were a bit wary of the mediocre ratings. However, when we came to the hotel which is admittedly a bit hard to find, we were pleasantly surprised! Not only was the decor incredibly interesting and great to look at, the hotel service was kind and helpful and the hotel was very clean. The rooms were somewhat small but cozy and we were very impressed with the buffet style breakfast on the terrace which included some beautiful views of the city. Although the hotel was a bit hard to find, it's actually well placed in the city, is in a safe neighborhood near a mall, and very close to the mosques and the souks. If you're looking for a great hotel at a great price, look no further than here!

We stayed for a week over Christmas at the Moroccan House Hotel. It's an economy priced hotel with slightly tired and faded "Arabian Nights" decor but it suited us down to the ground. The staff were always polite and helpful and work really hard to make you feel welcome. We had dinner there on the first night which cost 159 dhirams for 5 courses. It was fine for one night but I wouldn't recommend for half board purposes. There are lots of restaurants to choose from nearby and we particularly enjoyed Cafe Solaris and another Italian restaurant called Casanova. Breakfast is served on the roof terrace and is a fairly substantial buffet with eggs being cooked to order from a griddle. Our room had a double and a single four poster bed with drapes, firm but comfortable. All the furniture is made of wrought iron and we could have done with more places to lay stuff out but we managed. The plumbing worked well with plenty of hot water and extra bits and pieces like toothpaste and a toothbrush. They use bright pink loo paper everywhere in the hotel which I found a bit unsettling. The biggest minus point was the lighting in the room which was very dull and the single bed didn't have a bedside light. Wi fi is free and worked well enough for our needs. The small TV worked well and included BBC news channel among the 8 or 9 channels available. Our room was on the front of the hotel and was double glazed so was fairly quiet. We didn't use the pool or the hammam at all.

This hotel tries hard to present a Moroccan theme, which it pulls off well, and whilst it is not the most luxurious, it does offer good value for the price. The staff were friendly and tried hard to help make our stay enjoyable. The new-town location in Gueliz is about 10 to 15 minutes' walk from the Medina #old town# but there are plenty of good cafes around that area and taxis/buses are cheap.

I was on a short break with friends. We arrived early and they prepared one of our rooms early so we could all put our cases into this room for safe keeping while we explored Marrakech. This was very helpful and reassuring. The doors are a little strange with a board across the bottom of the door which you have to remember not to trip over! The style of the hotel is based on a traditional Moroccan house which is unusual but very attractive in the decor. It's an excellent base for a long weekend. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.

The hotel was warm and welcoming and the staff were helpfull. Rooms were clean and maintained every day. Our room was a little small but well set out. We all really enjoyed our stay. And hope to return. Only one issue we had, was with the booking, on line I selected 2 adults and 2 children and gave details of child's ages. Yet on arrival we had to pay extras for kids as the booking was for 2 adults only. Not sure how that happened. On the confirmation mail I stated kids under 3 free ( which one was) and kids under 12 classes as child ( which one was) yet we had to pay almost £100 for child to stay..... Read closely book g details before u turn up to hotel.

Well located in French inspired Gueliz, near restaurants and the Majorelle gardens. 20 minutes walk to the Medina ( 10minutes by taxi ). Friendly staff who understand and speak French and English as well as arabic. Very good breakfast buffet. Cheap and decent diner ( but set meal ). Good pool but alas not heated up and therefore too cold in April ( sunny in the morning but in the shade in the afternoon ). Decor very maroccan ( some people may find it over the top ) but we liked it. Very good value for money.

i worked in the tourist industry for ten years so i know what I'm looking for and the hotel, location, staff and service were outstanding. Everyone from the maids to the receptionists to the waiters were always happy to help, advise or go out of their way to make the stay exactly what you wanted from it. some phenomenal restaurants nearby, such as solaris, and sights, such as yves saint lauren's jardin marjorelle that is visually exquisite. Far and away the best hotel I have ever stayed in and, despite not being the type of person to revisit a place twice, I wouldn't hesitate in staying there again due to its overall excellence. Whilst i was there Moroccans were checking in on more than one occassion which is usually a marker for a place, if its good enough for the locals...! I cannot rate this hotel high enough and would urge anyone to spend time there, thank you to all who made the stay what it was.
