Beliggenheten er fantastisk, og det var romslig rom med ikke altfor hard madrass som de ofte er i Marokko.
Cons: Betjeningen var lite serviceminded. Riaden ser farsjonabel ut fra utsiden men rommet var relativt slitent. Dårlig wifi dekning utover fellesarealet hvis man er avhengig av wifi. Vinduene i rommet vender ut mot fellesarealet og de begynner å gjøre i stand til frokosten tidlig, så det kan være litt støy.

Cons: Betjeningen var lite serviceinnstilt, rommet relativt slitent selv om riaden så fasjonabel ut fra utsiden. Ustabilt varmtvann i dusjen, og wifi dekningen var dårlig utenfor fellesrommet.

Cons: Les chambres. Nous avons étais obligé de changer de chambre à cause de l odeur de moisissure. Le personnel à étais réactif merci. Le problème aussi au spa, massage pas à la hauteur plusieurs massages effectué jamais la même personne pour le massage ,le temps aussi pas respecté 1 heures de massage demandé tout juste 45 minutes effectué. Dommage.

Gorgeous hotel, far lovelier than the photos: atmospheric and calm, like a wee sanctuary yet in the middle of the bustling medina. We were in a room on an outside wall the first night, which was noisier, but were then kindly moved to a room on the internal courtyard, which was lovely. There's a little table and chairs by your door, on the balcony area, too. The room and bathroom were really clean (as was the whole hotel). The beds are firm but I like that. We could only get internet downstairs near reception - you can sit in the courtyard when you need to access it - to be honest we quite liked having a break from more constant internet like at home.

The Riad is in the medina and close to all the souks, with many good restaurants close by. It is also rather close to the beach.
Cons: Upon arrival to the room there was a strong mouldy smell and the floor of the bathroom was wet. We notified the staff and were promptly offered another room. The staff were helpful and provided information when asked.

L'emplacement est idéal Le petit déjeuner est varié et copieux. Sous forme de buffet. La taille de la chambre est bien.
Cons: Manque d'espaces de rangement dans la salle de bain. La literie est un peu dure. Les prises à la tête du lit sont peu accessibles et il y en a peu ailleurs. L'accueil à l'arrivée en milieu de nuit alors que j'avais prévenu que notre avion avait du retard était un peu froid. La douche avec rideau de douche est un peu désagréable.

I travelled with my wife and children to show them the medina of essaouira and its beauty. The hotel is located at a nice spot. So many things to do around. The staff was very friendly. The riad is very beautiful. Happy with my stay.

We arrived late after a long day of travel to a very unfriendly reception. Terrible room with frayed curtains that didn't cover door window. No shower curtain, no toiletries, no hairdryer (had checked that detail & could have taken own travel dryer!), no extractor fan so bathroom was damp & moldy, high step up to bed which for the less active or elderly is a big problem, no bedside lights, hard mattress & brick-like pillows. Window looked onto dark corridor which meant lights were left on out there shining through the very thin curtains. No TV as advertised & no internet connection. Very angry & disappointed. I asked for a different room & told no. Woken at 5.50 with loud call to prayers. Take earplugs - mosque is just a stone's throw away. Spoke to a different receptionist in the morning & was given a far better room with natural light as the window looked down into a little alleyway. Only problem was being even nearer the loudspeaker for the mosque! But I was brought a hairdryer & a safe which was not much use as it didn't work and it wasn't fixed down so I could have walked out with it in my arms. This room felt cleaner but still wore my flip flops at all times & took outdoor shoes off at the door. Once you see the dirty streets & amount of cat poo around you will understand. If you are not fit the stairs/steps will be a problem. Lots of them, many are uneven & there are gaps in where the handrails are positioned. Positive points are the breakfasts which although the same every day are more than adequate. I saw fresh croissants delivered about 7ish & food already out was covered. There was fresh juice brought to the table with 2 different types of pancakes, & choice of black tea, mint tea or coffee. Help yourself to fresh fruit, butter, jam, honey etc. WiFi connection was possible when sitting at the table once the rush had died down so not everyone was trying for a connection. Serving staff quite pleasant. Very central to get out & explore. Lovely setting. Friendly ladies who cleaned the rooms. Lovely thick blankets provided for cooler nights & oil filled radiators to plug in when needed. Nice roof terrace but you have to like noisy seagulls! Take wet wipes to clean off their droppings from the chairs. Overall description of this Riad needs updating to reflect facts. At the moment the description is misleading. I only saw one room with aircon & TV on my floor. I can't comment on the rooms in main part but I heard TVs on. Perhaps some of those had balconies or terraces too but our rooms certainly did not. Take earplugs if you want sleep. Doors are metal so closing them quietly seems to be problematic, especially for those returning to rooms very late at night & the mosque is very close by. If you value sleep & want to lie in do not stay here. If you like old fashioned vibes & are not fussed about comfort or cleanliness then please do stay here. It is an experience to embrace. One can imagine the hippies staying here just hanging out, eating, drinking, playing music & having a great time.

Personnel très sympathique et arrangeant.
Cons: Le petit déjeuner présentait vraiment le strict minimum. Très peu de choix de boisson et de nourriture. Chambre donnant sur une rue animée et surtout éclairée toute la nuit mais pas de rideau occultant ni de volet, impossible de trouver le sommeil si la lumière vous gène. Le hammam n'est pas très confortable, les masseuses discutent et rigolent entre elles si l'on choisi un massage en duo.

Nos pareció muy bien la comodidad de la habitación de las noches 2,3, 4 y 5. La profesionalidad y el trato del personal de limpieza y del servicio de desayuno. Salvo la incidencia que os comentaremos más adelante, la estancia ha sido satisfactoria.
Cons: Nos pareció muy mal que la primera noche nos dieran una habitación pequeña, de tres niveles y sin armario para la ropa, cuando habíamos contratado ( y pagado) una suite. Fue peor que no nos dieran una alternativa, ni un motivo justificado. La única respuesta fue: 'mañana tendrán otra habitación'. Por eso nuestra puntuación general es de 5.

The riad's courtyard was stunning, loved the rooftop, perfect for tanning. The staff were very helpful in organising a last-minute airport transfer.

Cons: 15 лет я езжу в Марракеш 2-3 раза в год. Всегда жила в хороших гостиницах и риадах. Но не в этот раз!!! Мы заселялись в 5 часов вечера. Мы вошли в номер в котором стоял жуткий запах плесени. Мы сразу сказали что жить в таком номере невозможно. Даже 1 ночь спать и дышать этой плесенью невозможно. Мы просили нас переселить - нам отказали. Мы просили отменить нашу бронь через Букинг и вернуть оплату что бы мы переселились в другую гостиницу - нам отказали. Нам пришлось там ночевать. Так как в номере стояла жуткая вонь нам пришлось в 20 градусов спать со включенным на охлаждение кондиционером и открытой входной дверью. Мне было холодно и я начала искать второе одеяло. Вместо одеяла в шкафу я нашла подушки и ЧУЖИЕ ЖЕНСКИЕ ТРУСЫ!!!!!! Ужасно! Мы просто уже не могли уйти никуда посреди ночи. Фото черной плесени тоже прикладываю

the room was great and clean ,the staff was welcoming and friendly .we enjoyed our 2 nights stay ,everything was incredible .especially the places outside the rooms it was charming and very beautiful.

Esteticamente molto bella l’area comune, lo staff si è impegnato nel cambiarci stanza perché sopra alla prima stanza c’era un cantiere (probabili lavori di ristrutturazione, impossibile relax). Staff gentile e attento alle nostre esigenze. Ho potuto pagare con carta e questo è un lusso di poche strutture ricettive in Marocco.
Cons: Al nostro arrivo le luci del bagno non funzionavano, abbiamo dovuto farlo presente tre volte. La luce è stata poi adeguatamente aggiustata, ma nella stanza c’erano forti rumori provenienti dal piano di sopra (probabili lavori di ristrutturazione). In bagno c’era una blatta enorme ma l’abbiamo eliminata.

Very nice and well located riad in the median. It was a very good sized room and not far from the beach and centrally located. We really enjoyed our stay if you have trouble with stairs, you might want to get a lower level room. We did not have food there but it smelled amazing. There is a restaurant in a bar at the riad. A great sized rooftop terrace. The only thing I wish the room had was a small refrigerator and a fan because it did get warm in the room but other than that it was great. We would definitely stay again.

Mauvaise expérience !! Problème avec la douche, soit froide soit soudainement bouillante… pas de wifi accessible depuis notre chambre, terrasse de toit pas entretenue et donc impossible d’en profiter. Pas de vrai réponse des gens à qui nous avons indiqué le problèmes rencontrés… Nous avons quitté le Riad dès le deuxième jour sur les 6 jours prévus initialement… Énorme déception, nous ne recommandons pas ce Riad.
Cons: Qualité du service proposé et réponses aux problèmes rencontrés. Largement en dessous de ce qui est présenté !!

This was a bit of a shocker. 1. The rooms absolutely stink of the drains. It was enough to disturb your sleep. 2. The security is really worrying. We had a room on the first floor that had a privacy trellis just leaning against it so we couldn't see what was outside. It was only when I woke up one night to a phone torch sweeping the room that I realised the window opened onto the walkway of the next floor up. Genuinely terrifying. 3. We were half board, and the food was like school dinners, no hint of any seasoning and you weren't allowed to order from the same menu as other guests. Hidden charges- we had water, tea or Coke eith our meals. You'd think this was included in half board. Wrong. At the end of the week they presented us with an entirely random £50 bill for the drinks. 5. Keep receipts for everything. We paid £50 city tax on the first day. They insisted we hadn't paid it on the last day. It was only when I said I'd paid it on my card and could pull up my transaction history that the bratty girl on the desk suddenly said "OK you can go" and let us leave. 6. Utterly disinterested in guests. You're just an occupational inconvenience.

In the heart of the historical walls of the Medina, a real taste of Moroccan architecture and decor. Pleasant to dine in and conveniently located to walk around the shopping area. The steep staircase to the rooms that give onto the inner courtyards could be a problem for elederly couples and the first floor would be advisable. There is however a very helpful porter. The Concierge is helpful, but ineffective in having the TV fixed for example.

Cons: For some reason, the air vent in the bathroom had been closed, thus there was no air flowing in the bathroom and the floor never dried up from the last cleaning. Every time we got into the room, we were welcomed by the smell of mold. The bed was possibly the least comfortable I have ever slept in, and both of us woke up with backache.

Elles sont peu équipées, pas de lampe de chevet, pas de coffre-fort, pas de sèche cheveux, l'eau chaude est juste chaude. En revanche, le riad est très bien placé, en pleine medina, on peut tout faire a pied.

Kept awake for most of both nights by a really loud machine that switched on , behind bedroom wall, for 30 seconds every 2 minutes (!) throughout the night ! The young woman in reception was extraordinarily rude and uncaring. I had to wait 30 minutes for a bath plug! The shower in my ‘suite’ came up to my shoulders! The food in the restaurant was inedible.

Großes, altes Riad, welches optisch erstmal was hermacht, vor allem auch der große Essens-/ Aufenthaltsbereich unten (Lobby). Auch das Zimmer war geräumig mit einem großen Bett und sauber. Auch das Personal wie immer nett und hilfsbereit.
Cons: Es ist alt würde ich mal sagen. Merkt man vor allem am Bad, könnte mal neu gemacht werden, geht aber. Da ich online studiere ist für mich WLAN außerordentlich wichtig und das war eine Katastrophe, ging erst garnicht und dann wirklich extrem schlecht. Dicker Minus Punkt hierfür. Da ich nur eine Nacht hier war habe ich darauf verzichtet mich diesbezüglich beim Personal zu äußern. Außerdem war es viel zu teuer, das lag aber wohl hauptsächlich an Silvester, also eher meine Schuld.

Breakfast was quite good - they offered hot pancakes and freshly squeezed orange juice. Staff very helpful. Rooms comfortable and heater provided. Fresh roses in vases everywhere. Lovely roof terrace. Perfect location.
Cons: Bathroom not good - mirror too low for shaving even on one's knees! Broken shower door, badly draining. The courtyard is cold in the mornings, need to wear a coat at breakfast. The riad hosted a school party on our last night which was noisy at night, though the students were polite.

Breakfast was excellent. Although I thought it was included in the price when I booked. However it was only 5 euros each. The Riad was really beautiful and the roof top space had a few secluded corners. Rooms were comfortable and well equipped including extra blanket and electric radiator had we needed.
Cons: The wifi wasn't very strong once in your room. Booking.com made it look like breakfast was included, but it wasn't.

Cons: Le côté hôtel, auquel je ne m’attendais pas, mais c’est ce que certains recherchent. Un peu cher par rapport à des riads plus petits.

Le riad est très bien situé dans la Médina. Très jolie décoration dans les parties communes. Le petit-déjeuner (non compris, à 5€) est très bon et très copieux.
Cons: Le lit était très dur ! La salle de douche n'était pas pratique : il n'y avait pas de rideau de douche alors que le bac de douche était tout à côté des toilettes. La chambre était propre, sans plus. Le riad est très grand, cela ressemble davantage à un hôtel impersonnel.

We loved Riad al Medina, such a nice room, so private yet right in the heart of the medina. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the windows were completely sound proof from the street below. The bath was an unexpected delight, so huge i could lay flat in it. (5ft4 )The staff were extremely accommodating and always attentive and helpful when needed. We also enjoyed a very nice meal one evening too on the lovely indoor patio dining room.

Meget god og vennlig stemning generelt i byen (Essaouira), mer avslappet, autentisk og trivelig enn i Agadir. Meget god frokost på hotellet til 45 dirham. Vi prøvde også restauranten som hadde god mat til høyere pris enn mange alternativer, men bød på trivelig atmosfære og hadde også vin å by på.

Après avoir fait plusieurs établissements entre Marrakech et Agadir avec des chambres peu confortables , nous sommes arrivés dans ce Riad à Essaouira où le confort a été un vrai soulagement (pour le même prix) ! Chambre lumineuse et confortable ( armoire, bureau, petit salon), le service d'étage passe tous les jours pour faire le lit et changer les draps de bains. Le Riad dispose d'une jolie terrasse en dernière étage avec des transats et des salons pour pouvoir profiter du soleil à l'abris du vent (fréquent à Essaouira). L'entrée du Riad est très jolie et sa localisation est idéale : à moins de 5 min du parking de la Médina (payé 75 dirham pour 3 jours) et placé en plein milieu des rues commerçantes tout en étant calme (double fenêtres).
Cons: Calme vis a vis de la rue mais bruyant depuis l'intérieur, notre escalier et notre fenêtre de la salle de bains donnait sur l'accueil du hammam dans lequel les employées et les clients étaient bien audibles. Dommage également que le petit déjeuner ne soit pas inclus dans la nuit, mais cela nous a permis de prendre de supers brunch sur d'autres rooftop.

La situation dans le centre de la petite médina. Tout à proximité. Les boutiques, les restaurants. Les Shop, le port ,la mer,etc... De plus, un gardien est là toute la nuit. Le personnel est serviable et aimable. Magnifique patio ouvert où prendre un thé ou le petit-déjeuner. La terrasse est immense avec vue sur le souk. Le prix est raisonnable même peu cher pour cet établissement. Choisissez les chambres au deuxième étage, surl’arrière pour la tranquillité.

El entorno del Riad es precioso, y es un auténtico Riad, no como la gran mayoría de alojamientos que abusan de ese término.
Cons: Por algún extraño motivo, al solicitar la habitación de dos cama individuales en booking, no me dejaba seleccionar 2 personas, solo una. Lo reservé y les escribí un mensaje para aclarar que seríamos dos personas pero que solo me dejaba indicar una persona. Al llegar nos dijeron que había un error que solo reservé para una persona (yo me había olvidado que les había escrito un mensaje aclarando el problema de booking), pero luego no se bien que pasó que dijeron que se equivocaron ellos y que estaba todo bien. En resumen, estaba todo bien pero deberían comprobar bien como tienen configurado en booking esa habitación. También reservamos una habitación de dos camas individuales y acabaron dándonos una de cama grande.

La ubicación es perfecta, en la medina con acceso muy fácil a la playa y zona exterior. Con tiendas y restaurantes cerca y un ambiente idílico. El Riad es muy bonito con un ambiente genial y cómodo. Si tienes problemas o dificultades para subir escaleras pedid primera planta o planta baja.
Cons: El desayuno, me pareció bastante mediocre para ser un desayuno marroquí. Uno de los panes estaban muy duros, recalentados del día aneterior, el buffet excaso y ante la solicitud de una tortilla francesa nos dijeron que no se podía hacer… La terraza superior está descuidada y podría se run lugar espectacular.

Riad Al Madina used to be a great base in the centre of Essaouira. Its position is in the heart of everything but it's glory days are long gone. The room was pretty, if very noisy at night and, with no aircon, would be very hot in summer but there is a nice roof terrace above if you got desperate.
Cons: I don't speak French, my bad, but no one explained anything re keys(I got locked into the section of the hotel which if there was a fire would be terrifying), breakfast or anything at all. The staff were abrupt with the local lady who came to collect me for a class and frankly I did not feel at all welcome. Frankly they need to have a rethink as there are so many great places in this town to stay at competitive prices. This could be a great hotel but needs new management and staff.

La struttura è molto particolare e piacevole viverla così come il cortile fresco dove si fa la prima colazione e volendo, anche cenare con vino. Il facchino è affabile e pronto ad essere d' aiuto.

El alojamiento bonito, tiene un restaurante donde se come muy bien y a buen precio, y dispone de habitaciones sencillas pero prácticas. Pero la limpieza de la habitación daba que desear. Las sabanas y toallas no se pasaban por lejía, estaban manchadas. No se barría o fregaba bajo la cama y la cantidad de polvo y pelusas que tenia el cabezal de la cama era de no haberlo limpiado en años. Si se centraran en la limpieza de las habitaciones el alojamiento mejoraría mucho.

Nous avons réservé deux chambres au sein de cet établissement après avoir lu avec attention les revues de plusieurs hôtels, regardé les photos de votre établissement sur la plate-forme et lu avec soin le descriptif. Nous avions réservé deux chambres avec wifi, télévision et climatisation selon le descriptif suivant: https://www.booking.com/Share-i0HEUh Nous sommes arrivés de Marrakech où nous résidons à 23h30, très fatigués pour trouver 2 chambres sans télévision, sans climatisation et avec une salle de bains qui s’est inondée après une douche. Impossible de se connecter au wifi. Les rideaux étant blancs et non occultants, nous avons souffert de la lumière de la rue toute la nuit et de la lumière du jour au petit matin. De plus les bruits de rue nous ont également empêché de dormir ainsi que l’humidité (sans climatisation) et les odeurs de moisi. Nous sommes allés en parler à la réception ce matin ainsi qu’au bureau de réservation, pensant a minima recevoir des excuses, et on nous a dit qu’il fallait demander une autre chambre en arrivant hier soir. Nous avons tenté d’expliquer que notre chambre n’avait rien avoir avec le descs de notre réservation et on nous a répondu que l’hôtel ne pouvait pas mettre toutes les photos de toutes les chambres sur le site, qu’à Essaouira il n’y avait pas besoin de climatisation et que les gens ne voulaient plus de télé dans les chambres. On nous a finalement proposé une autre chambre, cette fois munie d’une télévision et d’une climatisation. La seconde chambre offrait les prestations indiquées initialement mais est loin d’être optimale en termes de propreté. Je vous laisse regarder les photos: moisissures dans la climatisation, rideau de douche taché, rideaux défaits, pas de détecteur de fumée. Nous sommes retournés à la réception en demandant à parler au directeur ou au manager et on nous a répondu que l’on ne savait pas quand le responsable serait présent et qu’il fallait écrire à cette adresse mail.

Great location, very nice courtyard - as it appears in the photos.
Cons: Some staff didn’t speak French or English, which made communication difficult. Shower pressure and hot water in the rooms was disappointing. The rooms felt a little dark. Tiny TV. The terrace was not worth paying extra - no ambiance and we didn’t use it. Bathroom downstairs next to the restaurant had a very bad smell and didn’t feel clean.

Cons: Wir wollten morgens früh los und hatten am Abend vorher bescheid gesagt; aber als wir los wollten war kein Personal an der Rezeption und wir mussten warten. Die uns vorgelegte Rechnung war dann recht unübersichtlich, so dass wir uns noch eine Weile über den Gesamtpreis Inch. Frühstück, Getränke etc einigen mussten.
