Cons: Terrible. Very dirty. Bathrooms in unimaginable condition. Cockroaches. Not to mention what was under the blankets. No hot water. Wi-Fi only in the lobby. I had to change rooms four times before finding one without cockroaches. Do not go there, terrible location in an ugly part of town. Not recommended for solo travelers. On the ground floor, there is a bar that makes terrible noise until 3:30 a.m.

The hotel is in a great location — very close to downtown, so everything is within walking distance. The room was comfortable and clean, which made my stay pleasant.

Cons: Unfortunately, the person who welcomed me at the reception was clearly drunk. This is highly unprofessional and not something you’d expect when checking into a hotel. First impressions matter, and this definitely needs to be addressed by management.

The staff are so kind and very welcoming . Good people. I appreciate them. They changed the room for me . And they modified the stay for me and I got my money back. Because I cannot stay for the third night. The location is good in the city centre.

Cons: The whole hotel needs restorations . I think it was a good hotel 10 or 15 years ago . Style ... Sheets... Everything is old , dusty, and strange. I wanted to vomit . The door of the toilet has such a noisy sound. There is a Nightclub in the same building , is noisy till 3 am .. Wifi only in the reception. For solo travellers is not a good choice. Specially for women. I didn't see the comments of previous clients .. I learned by the hard way.

Hello, I left Casablanca and went to Marrakech because the hotel is not clean and I do not know how it has two stars. I apologize. I did not find anything in it that deserves any time to talk. Your great site should not include this place on the site. I hope we see that....I have pictures and videos of the place.

If you really want the lowest cost place to stay, maybe you could do it. It is a safe place, an extremely friendly staff, close to the center of town and reasonably clean. However, you might consider this: The hot water did work in my room. Too much trouble to change rooms or hotels after checking in. Skip the hotel breakfast. Not worth the money. Didn’t get sick on the food. Have fun in Casablanca.

To begin, I actually had the ability to look at two rooms because my first one did not have a heater that worked. Anyways, to begin, you are greeted with a very fancy lobby. The rooms are also decorated pretty well, but have it’s quirks. As I said, my first room was decently sized with a nice shower/tub, but I had to switch rooms as I wanted a room with sufficient heat. The room I was moved to was a lot smaller and cramped (where you had to step over your bag) and only contained a shower (which had hot water, but only for a limited time and I had to ask the front desk to figure it out). There also aren’t any bedside outlets (in either room). In the smaller room, the only outlet available was in the bathroom while you could unplug the TV in the larger room if needed. The most significant issue is that the hotel is located next to a club, so you will probably be woken up around 3-4 A.M. by people screaming pretty loud. Because of that, I would try to get a room that isn’t on the street. Finally, breakfast was solid, offering baguettes, traditional pastries, the typical spreads (butter, jelly, olive oil, cheese) hard boiled eggs, yogurt, toppings (breakfast meat, tomatoes, cucumbers and oranges), ending with a choice of orange juice, tea or coffee to drink. There is a reason it’s cheaper, but it feels pretty nice overall. Just be warned about street noise and get earplugs if you are really needing to get rest (which fortunately I was indifferent about)

It was okay. A lot of Middle Eastern character to it. Overall, it was not bad. The people working there were very nice and made sure your stay was enjoyable. I was greeted by a friendly desk clerk who made sure all was set when I checked-in. My last night there, I had a pot of mint tea, and got to talk with some of the owners there too. They did help me with my Arabic somewhat. They do keep your room key when you go out of the hotel, but they are trustworthy and make sure your room is clean.

The hotel is in terrible condition and in immediate need of attention. First, the room smelled like and old bar, cigarette smoke. Second, we had a bird inside our room. We managed to let the bird out through our window. Third, a big hole, made by corrosion at the bathtub (see picture). Fourth, two lamps were missing. One in the ceiling and one above the mirror. The one above the mirror had live wires "out in the open". Fifth, the AC didn't work. It was a mobile unit, however, the flexible exhaust hose was removed and fitted as a water lock to the toilet. Staff didn't speak English.

this is my worst hotel experience ever. i came with my girlfriend to check in..first all was fine.we showed id and all. she is moroccan. then i had by mistake booked wrong date and we found out and i changed it and booked it again for this arrrival day..they wanted it on print which is not normal. and i had to find a place to print instead of sending the confirmation from you to their mail.now the abusive harrassment really began.we talked to 5 different bosses and suddenly they said we needed to book 2 rooms cause we were only engaged not married.i said no is not fair. they insisted. i said ok i put my things in room and we go out and come back and she will not go in the room. i got a room 309. when i had put my things they came said i change to another part. i got a 209 which is the worst hotelroom i ever seen. no aircon. walls where hanging with paint. anyway we went out. i came back and said can i have key to 209. they said there is no key for 209 but for 309 and 208. i said i think it was 209. they said no can not be true. ok we went with keys to 208 and 309. and my luggage was not there. i was very stressed. then they asked. well maybe you didnt have any luggage. and they knew very well i had. they were simply harrassing me. then they say strange and went to ask a 3 person. he said ohhhh yes is 209. they were playing. i found my luggage and left the place immediately but i had paid. i strongly urge you to remove this hotel from your list

Hotel Volubilis is a colonial era art deco hotel in central/colonial Casa. It is run down but perfectly adequate. The lobby is almost a museum to the glorious colonial era, with neoclassical statues and heavy brocade curtains. It has a bar where you can get a drink (beer, wine, liquor) and the breakfast buffet is just fine, served in an opulent room. It is also easy walking distance to monuments (Mohammad V square, Casa Port train station) and not far from a tram stop. Perfectly adequate and pleasingly cheap!

We showed up with a reservation made through hostelbookers.com. The rude girl in the reception said there was no reservation and that it was not her business to find out what had happenned. Eventhough we showed our confirmation of the reservation and the payment of the booking fee, she said she had no contact in hostelbookers and could do nothing. After discussing for a long time with another man in the reception (who of course also treated us like we were crap). we saw he had our reservation printed and written by hand "not accepted", but they could never explain why. They said to us they could offer another room, a more expensive one, but wouldn´t take what we had paid before. We left to another hotel after loosing our time and money, and called hostelbookers, who then told us the owners of the hotel said we showed up unwilling to pay the price of the room (!!!) incredibly dishonest people trying to take advantage of turists!!!

I was uncomfortable the entire time I was there. Unclean rooms, I have no clue if those sheets were even washed. I didn't use the towels the Hotel provided. The room had shampoo, the bottle was half empty so someone topped it off with water, very ghetto. The hotel is connected to a man's bar, so strange men are constantly coming in and out. Smelly, musty, stay away. The staff was nice though, they kept our bags after checkout while we set up our departure. But that's about it. Even for free, I would NEVER stay here again.

This hotel charged 45 euros for one night in a double room, we were initially told this would be 40 euros and they even tried to charge us 50. Exceptionally damp bedding, could not see through the window or open it as it was boarded up on the outside. Shower curtain didn't reach the top of the bath so consequently the entire bathroom floor - bare concrete - was soaked, towel rail fell off the wall. Very loud night club downstairs that went on throughout the night. Lift only worked when it felt like it. The breakfast hall - which is actually shared with the more up-market Transatlantique - looked like a horror film, dirty, untidy and un-cared for. Breakfast was horrible - fluorescent slices of meat, blobs of old butter floating in water and stale pastries. The architecture would have been beautiful in its hay day but to see it in such a mess was depressing. Upon check-out the receptionist was sarcastic and smarmy. Not a mid-range hotel at all and not worth the money. Also the marble stair cases are covered in loose carpet which is incredibly slippy which is not secure and nearly sent one of us flying down two flights of stairs.

The room was very small & needed repairs. Bed was like a rock. Door to balcony could not be locked securely. Lift was not working for some time. Breakfast was good. 10 min walk to Place des Nations

If you love architecture, Hotel Volubilis and its sister Hotel Transatlantique next door are for you. Hotel Volubilis is cheaper and a step down in quality. Breakfast is served in the dining room of Hotel Transatlantique. The bathroom sink leaked, but otherwise, my room was clean. The furniture is old. I always cringe when I read that a hotel has been 'renovated'. It usually means the charm has been erased and replaced with generic blandness. I am a frequent traveller who prefers old. I especially liked watching the sunrise over Casablanca from my 1919 balcony. If you need quiet, use earplugs. This hotel is downtown, not in a sleepy suburb. Plenty of sidewalk coffee cafes inhabit the neighborhood surrounding this classic Casablanca hotel.

Although the entrance is very attractive, the rooms are really small and the room could use some work. At night there is a really noisy club/disco downstairs and it was really scary because I wasn't expecting it. Also, if I compare the price I paid for the room to many others in Morocco - it was expensive for the quality of the room.

The hotel was really bad. The staff was helpful at first but was rude later on. The room was extremely dirty. We had to change the room as soon as we went inside our room. The new room was also very dirty. The bathrooms was dirty. There was a horrible smell in the bathroom. We both couldn't even take a shower the next day because it was so dirty. The room was not even cleaned the next day. When asked they told me we that they will clean it the next day.The hot water would not work. Had to keep the tap on for around 20 mins to get some hot water. Our friend who was in another room actually slipped on the bathroom at cut his arm.The staff was really unfriendly. The hotel does not even have a first aid kit. When we asked for help, instead of helping we were told to go to the pharmacy near by to seek medical help. The hotel had a night club with very strange men coming in the night.Especially the hotel next door Transatlantic their was another night club with very loud music every night. There was men and ladies coming in and out of the hotel rooms every now and then. They were drunk and very loud.It was really loud and it seemed very unsafe to stay in the hotel common area at night. We were using the internet one night and the staff from the hotel next door turned the lights off on us. The food was bad as well. It was the worst hotel room I have ever stayed in. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The hotel boasts a 2 star but I think it should be reviewed. The common area decor was nice and sort of grand but altogether it was very run down .This is got to be the worst hotel ever.No one should have to live in a hotel like this.

I stayed here for two nights and felt that it was good value for money in an excellent location and that my room was safe and secure. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout. The rooms are relatively small and basic but they are light and very clean, with nice balconies to sit out on. Breakfast is in the linked Transatlantic Hotel, giving you a chance to enjoy its "bygone era" granduer. A very good budget option all in all.

HOTEL SENZA PRETESE. IL PERSONALE E' MOLTO CORTESE, COMODO IL FATTO CHE LA RECEPTION FORNISCA UN SERVIZIO 24H/24. LE CAMERE SONO PICCOLE LA PULIZIA E' BUONA,MA SOLO CONSIDERANDO GLI STANDARD MAROCCHINI. SECONDO ME E' UN HOTEL ADATTO AD UNA CLIENTELA CHE BADA PIU' ALLA POSIZIONE CENTRALE DELL'ALBERGO RISPETTO AL CENTRO DELLA CITTA' CHE NON AL LIVELLO DELLA STRUTTURA

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night on our transit in Casablanca. Since I had read not very good reviews about this hotel, I was prepared for the worst, but it still negatively exceeded our expectations. First, we arrived at the hotel around 1AM and the hotel did not have our room booked even though we had made our reservation and paid through hotel.com. It took a while for them to arrange a room for us, but I am not sure if the room was even what we had paid for. Second, the room was very small and smelled very moldy. It actually had mold on the ceiling. Third, we found broken pieces of glassses on the floor and on the bed. If my husband did not notice it, I would most probably have got injured because I always take off my shoes in the room. Also, the floor was clearly not cleaned, and it was very dusty. Forth, there was only one set of towels in the bathroom, so we called the front desk to give us another set. We waited more than 30 minutes and still did not receive it. While waiting for the towles, my husband called the front desk again because the air-conditioner was not working, but nobody came to our room to fix it, so my husband had to go down to the lobby and tell them the same thing again. They were very inefficient and we felt like they did not care about the guests. Fifth, towels in the room looked very old and dirty. I suppose they were at least washed, but the color was brown, not white. Sixth, the hotel is very noisy in the morning. Our room was at the end of the corridor on the fifth floor, but we were woken up by the noise of other guests using the very outdated elevator. We also heard a lot of noise from the kitchen on the first floor. Seventh, the breakfast quality was sad, if it is the right word to descrive it. I don't mind if the hotel room is small as long as it is clean. But the standard of this hotel is just unacceptable and it is not worth at all for what it is charging.

Stayed for 2 nites. Fighting outside lobby/bar nightly. Rooms small, broken art and furniture, door barely locked and easily picked by novice. Airconditioning constantly leaking in middle of room, no warm water on 2nd day. No wi-fi as advertised. Restaraunt with nice decor but poor menu and ultra-minimal biscuit, coffee, jelly and a couple slices of lunch meat. Staff helpful at first, but very pushy and even rude for tips later....even after tipping quite well! Much more.... but generally all negative. Good news is it was cheapest and nice local architecture/art on 1st floor only. Not worth the savings.....especially when personal safety involved. Please dont take the kids!

The Hotel Volubilis is a nightmare, very poorly kept, and terrible place! The public areas are in OK condition, but the rooms are small and the bathroom in horrible shape. No AC as advertised. And the walls between the walls were paperthin! I could hear the phone ring in the next room and the guest in their singing, at 6 AM in the morning! The hotel is above a bar and we couldn't sleep a wink all night because of how loud the drunks were from downstairs. And the breakfast buffet and dining room were a mess and utterly disgustiung by the time we got to it. Stay somewhere else!!

THe exterior of this hotel is a birthday cake of art deco marvelousness, and the tiny lobby has been tastefully redone as well. the staff could not have been any nicer and really very helpful. on the downside, the rooms while recently redone, were done so on a very small budget and it shows. musty and damp. and the noise from the disco down the street kept me awake until 4-5 am the two weeknights i was there.

Its architectural features compensated for the general age of decorations etc. Bed in single room appeared to have led a hard life! Water in en-suite basin was very low pressure and quantity.

We were on a low budget and only for 1 night only - and for that, the hotel was ok. If you stay longer I would not recommend it. Location is quite good. Public area's are beautifully done in marrocan architecture. Breakfast feeds you, but that is far from european standards. At nights it gets very noice as a night club is in the same building. Staff is very friendly and helpful! The rooms need to be refurbished expecially the waterpipes...every time you flush the toilet or use water strange noises appear which do not sound too healthy. Bottom line: for one night ok and staff makes up for a lot!

I chose this hotel as a medium priced hotel, but soon realized that it was way overpriced for the quality of the services. I went in low season and still had to pay 350dhs for a single room. The hotel rooms are musty, very noisy as there is a nightclub located in the same block. It advertises wireless, which it does not have; there is a computer for 20-30guests with a slow internet connection. When cleaning the rooms, the staff will leave all the rooms on the same floor open and go from one to the other, without paying much attention to who comes in and out: thus, do not leave anything valuable in your room. The only high point is the fact that the Volubilis is joined on the ground floor with a nicer hotel: Hotel Transatlantique. As a consequence, one can enjoy the restaurant and the bar of this hotel. Yet, I would say that does not compensate for everything else.

Found hotel in guide book - pretty cheap, decent location, clean Was next to a nightclub which seemed pretty noisy, but didn't actually keep us awake. Internet access - free for half and hour - was pretty useful Grand taxis are reasonably easy to get round the corner to the left; petit taxis on the main road round the corner to the right also easy to get About 10-15 mins walk from Place Mohammed V; 10-15 min taxi ride to beach
