We stayed one night at Dar Imlil. On arrival Mouna was very helpful and friendly. Our room was clean. View from our window was scenic and wonderful. All the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Chef Hassan is an excellent cook.He prepared dinner which was delicious. Our guide Yassine was very knowledgeable in detail of the area. A pleasant person who did not mind us asking any questions related to the area. We would highly recommend this place to stay.

A wonderful place in the mountains. great views from the rooftop terrace with many other places to sit and listen to the river that runs just below. hiking directly out the back door. the hotel will arrange a friendly guide, abdul, showed us the villages that dot the surrounding mountains. the staff was incredibly helpful and the food was fantastic. the room was spacious and warm. we all had a wonderful time. would recommend to anyone traveling to the atlas mountains region.

What a great surprise to arrive in such a nice room in this little mountain village! It was very confortable with a nice view, we had a great stay. The staff organized a guide for our hike on the day after our arrival. All worked very smoothly. We were provided an excellent picnic.

This hotel was very good - staff were immediately very friendly upon arrival - offering us refreshment and our rooms were ready straight away. The rooms were comfortable and airy. There are plenty of places on the terrace / balcony outside the rooms to sit in the sun. The location is also good - there are brilliant views of the mountains from the terrace area. Only downside is that you often have to eat all your meals at the hotel - as there are few restaurants in the village and they mostly do expensive tourist food. The breakfast was good - a selection of cereals, hot drinks, bread, eggs, pancakes, crumpets - but you have a very limited dinner selection - often tagine or tangier and if you have dietary restrictions or are vegetarian there may not be much for you to eat. Apart from this an enjoyable experience and we would likely return.

This is a wonderful hotel. The staff are attentive and eager to help. The food is excellent - they do delicious 'set meals', and are also happy to knock up anything you fancy if you want something lighter. Comfortable rooms, lovely communal areas. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We loved our stay here. The property has incredible views of the mountains and we enjoyed our afternoons reading on one of the lovely terraces. In the evening the fire was lit and we had two delicious dinners downstairs. It is very easy to hire a guide to take you for a day hike and explore the mountains and local culture.

Came for yoga & hiking at end of November. Staff were kind & responsive, lit fires to keep us cosy though the sun shone non stop; loved lazing on the pretty patios. Rooms varied but ours was big & warm. Hotel has a pool, hammam & yoga room with stunning views, star gazing & hiking through the valley where we enjoyed perfect autumn colours throughout - lovely trip!

We booked in to the Kasbah du Toubkal, because our children had stayed there, and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately this top hotel suffered some damage in the dreadful earthquake that struck the region, so had to close until December. Dar Imlil is owned by the brother of the manager of the Kasbah and we were offered the Imlil room. The hotel is really atmospheric and authentically Berber. Service was excellent and the food delicious. We had a 2 day hike to the Remote Trekking Lodge, organised by the Kasbah team. This was a tough rough Hike, but really well managed by our excellent and very knowledgable guide, Mohammed, assisted By Hassan and his lovely mule Jaqualina. There is some damage around still from the earthquake, and tourism has suffered. But the Berber people are lovely and very welcoming. The whole area is safe and every visitor makes an important contribution to the economy and reconstruction efforts.

What moved me most at Dar Imlil, (beyond the beautiful room, the setting, the delicious food and the cosy atmosphere in the lobby), was the friendliness of the staff. Hussein arranged everything from a trek with mule and guide, a hammam, washing clothes etc . Always with a smile, always available. The other Hussein, the cook, conjured up tea, fruit, a salad, and the most delicious tagines out of nowhere. Their dedication really knows no bounds. I truly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is located right beside the waterfall & right in town, but on the quieter side. There are many stairs to access the hotel and the upstairs rooms. Our room was fantastic. It was on the second floor with an amazing balcony & a great view. It was cozily decorated & very comfortable. Great access to hiking. In the summer the pool must be a great treat. It looked beautiful. Delicious tagine dinner in the hotel our first night. The staff were very gracious and helpful.

This is a great place to stay in the High Atlas Mountains. It’s a staging post for treks so there is not much around but the hotel has everything needed as a base. The food was good. Breakfast was hearty and simple. The rooms clean and tidy, not luxury but good for the location. The pool was totally freezing, must have been fresh mountain water! Our tour operator in the UK (via their Moroccan agent Karima) arranged a brilliant mountain guide called Ibrahim for a day trek. We spent time in his own home for lunch in a nearby village. We had a mule, not to ride but to carry the bags, and another opportunity to put some cash into the local community - much needed after the tragic earthquake. We felt a small tremor, which they said is normal. Next time we would like to do a stop overnight on the mountain refuge. The staff in the hotel are polite, mostly men, a reflection of the Berber culture. We always felt safe walking around the small town, but do expect a fair amount of attention to draw you into shops and cafes.

Awesome hotel in Imlil at the base of the mountains. We stayed here two nights and had a great time hiking around the area. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, comfortable, and well fed. Upon arriving the hotel is located right in the town of Imlil. We walked up some stairs and were blown away by the views. The hotel is situated right on the river and we really enjoyed the sound of the river at night. We also used the pool a lot and it was a nice break from the heat. The hotel made us dinner every night and it was delicious. The breakfast was also very good. Book this! You won't regret it.

We loved Dar Imlil! It is set in a beautiful location, nestled in the mountains with an incredible view. The room was very cozy, and surprisingly big! The staff were incredibly friendly - from the moment we walked in, Hussein and the rest of the team were able to meet all of our needs (a guide for a hike, negotiating reasonable transport onwards etc). I would suggest if you need to communicate with them before arrival, through whatsap worked best - they werent responsive to the expedia chat. We will definitely be back!

We stayed at Dar Imlil for two nights as part of a Moroccan tour. This was my favourite hotel. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The food was delicious and plentiful, the breakfasts were particularly impressive. The dining area has a log burner and as the temperature dropped in the evening the fire was lit providing a wonderfully warm atmosphere. After trekking sitting on one of many sunny terraces with a coffee was a welcome way to relax. The rooms were spacious, ours, on the first floor, had a balcony overlooking the pool and towards Toubkal. A big thank you to Hassan, Hussein and the team for a perfect stay.

Away from the heat and chaos of Marrakesh, Imlil was a haven of peacefulness. Welcomed by the family team, shown to our very comfortable accommodation on the first floor with balcony views that were simply stunning and treated to a delicious traditional meal with soup, tagine and salad. The swimming pool is beautiful and refreshingly cold, especially after a long hike up and down the mountains!! So much to do and explore - stay at least two days if you’re on an itinerary tour!

The staff at this hotel were extremely kind and helpful. They answered all of our questions about the hike and helped us shop for some gear in town. The breakfast was good. They stored our luggage the night we stayed on Toubkal, and had it in our room for us when we returned. The only downside to our stay was that they didn't pay the wifi bill, so we didn't have wifi for a couple days in our room. But I don't want to decrease my overall rating just because of that, because I'm hoping this was a fluke and won't affect other people's stays in the future. I'd definitely recommend staying here. A super beautiful hotel, nice rooms, a lot of nice patio seating outside, great location in Imlil -- very walkable to other restaurants nearby as well as the base of the hike. Also, the hotel has it's own parking area, so you don't have to worry about street parking, which is great. The A/C worked well.

We decided to stay 7 nights at this hotel as we wanted to do lots of walking in this district. The days that we wanted to kick back a little there was a swimming pool in the beautiful setting of the verdant valley overlooked by the impressive Toubkal mountain and neighbouring peaks. Great Moroccan vibe with unrivalled service from small team of young, local men & women. This area has been hard hit by the economic effects of Covid-19 and is only starting to retrieve some of the tourist numbers that it previously enjoyed. For us, this was a perfect stay in a quiet town to get some walking and trekking done. Dar Imlil is definitely on our list when next we visit this part of the world. Don't forget to check out the unpolluted night sky complete with Milky Way!

The place was great. It was clean, warm, and the bathroom was spacious. I really have nothing to complain about. Great option and worth the little bit higher price compared to a few other options in Imlil. The bathroom was much nicer than the Riad Atlas Toubkal if you're comparing the two.

Dar Imlil made an excellent impression right from the booking with swift replies to e-mails to arrange transfer. This went without a hitch. The rims are impressive with views over the mountains and the terraces views over the village and of the river as it runs over a number of waterfalls right next to the property. The staff were amazing and we felt very welcome and looked after. The room was spotless and comfortable. We had lunch on the terrace in the sun and a day playing games around the fire so dar imlil is a great base whatever the weather. The food is great and tasty. We left with batteries recharged and sad to leave. The final transfer back to the airport also went without a hitch.

We had a gargantuan suite, with separate areas for sitting at a table, the bedroom, watching TV, and a bathroom with a lovely big bath, and two balconies. Views in all directions were lovely or spectacular. The suite was clean, the telly worked, the breakfast was great, and there was a lovely warm fire lit for our comfort whenever we were downstairs. You're well placed for walking, hiking and the village centre.

Hotel is in a very secluded town. Great location if you want to hike the mountains. Hotel is extremely peaceful and quiet. Rooms were a nice standard and very traditional. Very large comfy beds and generally large rooms as well. Wifi needs to be improved as it can only be accessed in the hotel lobby. There isn't much else around the hotel, so would definitely recommend dining at the hotel. Food is fantastic, value for money and really enjoyed the authentic moroccan dishes.

Had a lovely 2 night stay at Dar Imlil, which included being upgraded to the Superior room on our second night which was a wonderful surprise. Both rooms were comfortable with a small private balcony and very generous sized bed. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and arranged our transport to and from the Riad, and organised a half day hike in the mountains with our own personal guide and a packed lunch. I would highly recommend Dar Imlil if you are looking for somewhere clean, comfortable and charming in the heart of the mountains.

We were staying in Dar Imlal for one night only, but it was amazing surprise. Left Marrakesh exosted after all city buzz and found wonderful little heaven. Rooms are very comfortable, ours had balcony, coffee/tea making facilities, water, tv, fridge. Staff just couldnt do enought for us - arrange wonderful dinner for two (with candles, napkins, table was served very elegant :) Hotel manager organised very good guid for 2day trek to Mount Toubkal, who looked after us with great care (Rasheed - well recommended guid, speaks briliant english and extremely supportive and friendly). If you arrive to hotel by taxi from Marrakesh, driver most likely will drop you in main car park - just fallow main road until its finihed , you will find little bridge at the end of the road, cross the bridge and on your right few steep steps up - you will find Dar Imlal!!! We definately will be coming back :)

We based ourselves here for 4 nights to do day treks. We had a large room with great mountain views, overlooking the small pool and right by the river which was in full spate. Staff were quite reserved but very nice and helpful. Dinner had to be pre-ordered by 4pm (as was fairly common) and the night we ate there we weren't very impressed at all. However, we spoke to other visitors who said it was better the following night so we might have been unlucky.

We had a lovely time at this hotel. Indeed, of the 4 we used during our travels in Morocco, this was undoubtedly our favourite and I can't find a single fault to report. The service struck the perfect balance of being always helpful, friendly and efficient, but never overly ingratiating and invasive. Our room was huge, with a spacious bathroom and beautiful view. Everything about it was comfortable- plenty of storage space, great shower and bath, and good heating, while the decor was tasteful and appealing. We were delighted with the excellent wifi connection right in the room. A hearty breakfast was included and we also chose to have dinner there every evening. Each time, we were very well fed, with simple but tasty dishes and plenty of food. We went there in winter and really appreciated their cosy eating area. We would definitely use this hotel again.

Spent two nights here in a deluxe room - fabulous views of mountains. Staff very friendly and helpful. Evening meal lovely and only 130 MAD for 3 courses which were different each night. Son climbed Toubkhal - conditions tough as rain up to hut and icy on top. Ideally should have had crampons so be wary of guide recommendations. He is an experienced climber but others seen on route not properly equipped. Riad arranged a transfer to Marrakech for us for only 40 euros (cost 80 on way up arranged through Riad there) and car much better condition. Hard to tear ourselves away!

We split our time in the High Atlas among properties, and our stay here ranked highest due to the staff's attentive service and professional attitude. We stayed in a standard room, with wonderful bath and shower. Temps were quite cold in the evenings, but the room had great heat, and glorious mountain and village views from our own terrace! The breakfast was more than we expected, and the dinner menu offered several selections which you preorder as everything is prepared fresh. We had a tajine that we dreamed about throughout our trip, yes it was that delish! After departing we contacted Dar Imlil staff for travel advice, and Abdou and his team assisted us without hesitation. Wished we had stayed longer, and would recommend without hesitation.
