My wife and I booked a superior room in Riad Karmela through hotels.com. There are a number of riads, all next to each other, under the same ownership and where guests can move freely between them all. We received an upgrade to stay in room Bahia in Riad Petit Karmela. It was very serene and calm on the ground floor overlooking a beautiful sitting area which was heated during the evening. It transpires that, if you book directly with the riad, you receive a room upgrade and a one way free transfer from the airport. We reserved and benefited from the transfer and were met at the airport. The riad was ideal. Lovely room and facilities (including room safe) good hot shower, comfortable bed and plenty of space. One litre of free bottled water daily. Breakfasts were more than ample and served as continental style and we had 2 evening meals (pre-reseved). Cocktails were superb and both beer and wine were available at table. Joel (owner) has a superb team of staff and we were looked after well by Muhammed, Amine, Said & Fatima and others whose names are in my dimming recollection. Highly recommended and would be our choice of accommodation again. Thankyou.

Bad start to my trip as I missed my flight and also my transfer Got another flight but had no transfer but I would have thought they would have come back for me as I got later flight However, I got a taxi from the airport as not too far away as was told but the taxi dropped me off outside the gates as there was no access for cars and driver told me to go right left and right but as got through to my horror alley ways no streets and yes I got lost could not find hotel asked a lot of people but they just took me on a wild walk all around took me 3 hours went round in circles terrible experience as traveled many times solo have to say this was the worst experience I had spoilt the trip took me awhile to settle even though the staff at the hotel tried to make me as comfortable as possible the trip was spoilt the hotel was down alley many allies to get too the place even to get out of there it was alley ways And also the lock on my door was a padlock What can I say I think people should be aware the hotel is nice and friendly but to get there is a nightmare Jean cabbin

It took us 2.5 hours to get through Marrakech airport. So being delayed we arrived to an amazing welcome. Definitely book the taxi pick up with the Riad. We had dinner even though rhe kitchen had closed. All the staff are super helpful and friendly. We were given a map and shown best routes and what to avoid. We stayed in thepetit riaf and ate breakfast in the main Karmela opposite. The room was clean and we got complementary water and fruit. The waiter Muhammad went the extra mile and really made our dinner experience amazing Definitely recommend this Riad. Beautiful courtyard and roof terrace.

We were in Marrakesh n stayed at the Riad petit karmela. Great location in Medina near souks n square. Enjoyed the hustle n bustle of Medina . From the moment we walked in till we left a week later we got the best service n treatment. Friendly welcoming staff . We were welcomed w cookies n fresh juice. It was so refreshing. Sat in the waiting area:courtyard in the center. Was so peaceful. Nice quaint accommodation . We had en-suite bathrooms. And outside our room was a courtyard. The baking station was in riad petit karmela . And the smell of baked goods was so nice. Made us feel hungry early in the morning, The breakfast buffet was the best. Vast choices from fresh fruit n dried fruits to bread w various spreads to omelette n different pastries n juices . The brewed coffee was the best. I normally don’t drink brewed coffee but this was the best. The state is snacking . Sayeed and Fatima are the best. They went above n beyond to make our stay memorable. Made sure on the days we came back late dying tours that someone met us by the coach a 5 min walk. All in all great stay. Highly recommend this place.

Stayed here for 7 nights, quite glad we were in the Petit as there was no footfall outside our room, and there was a plunge pool on the roof above our room which no one else used! Private pool for a week was fabulous. A fridge in the room would have been useful as the weather was so hot, cold drinks warmed up in minutes We had temperatures of mid 40's, thankfully we had much needed Aircon! So my any pretty courtyards in the 3 riads, beautiful architecture with lovely water features, all very calming. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good, cereals, pastries, breads, yoghurt, fruit etc. Glad we were met from our taxi by staff as we would have struggled to find it, but one you get used to the area it's easy to make your way around.

A wonderful Riad in the centre of the hustle and bustle of Marrakech! I contacted the Riad prior to arrival to organise a taxi to collect us from the airport and would definitely recommend this to everyone staying at any of the Karmela Riads as it really is in the middle of nowhere. During the car journey I really did question where and what I had booked as we arrived late at night which is when the city is the busiest! I felt very overwhelmed but once we checked in, we were given a free upgrade to a suite which was absolutely beautiful. The room had everything you needed except a fridge. We were given towels, hairdryer, fresh water every day etc. Breakfast was in the main Karmela Riad; it was slightly basic in my opinion. A lot of bread (which is traditional for Morocco), some fruit and eggs. Enough to fill you up but we did decide to go out for breakfast on a couple of occasions. We had dinner in the Riad one evening and it was very nice. The staff were so lovely and helpful; nothing was ever too much to ask! The pool in petit Karmela was small (more of a dipping pool than swimming pool), but it was lovely during the hot days! The Riad was in the Medina making it easy to get around and only a 15 min walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa. We stayed during Eid al-Adha (Sacrifice of sheep) so we saw some sites we were not expecting! Going from petit Karmela to the main Riad for breakfast is less than 10 steps but between them, we walked past an open door showing the aftermath of the sacrifice. It put us off our breakfast but nothing the Riad could have done! We would come back to the Riad in a heartbeat! Thank you for making our first experience of Marrakech unforgettable!

Just returned home from a wonderful adventure to Marrakech. The Riad Petit Karmela was a truly culturally immersive experience. The Riad was beautiful with birds singing and even the odd tortoise wandering around! The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff were excellent. A big shout out to Marion who went the extra mile to ensure we enjoyed our stay. My only worry would be for anyone with mobility issues as there were tricky steps and low doors to negotiate. The food was excellent so whoever they have as a chef - I love you! I hope to get the opportunity to return to Marrakech and would recommend this Riad.

The staff at Riad were amazing from start to finish . Breakfast was plentiful and no rush, when all tables filled tight in serving area but not a big problem. Towels were changed everyday, beds made. Everywhere very clean. The Riad very traditional in its building. So glad we travelled in daylight. Watch your head on the door in entrance!!! Reception area small but staff so lovely. On receiving invoice we were charged for stay, mistake on Riad we had already paid. Soon rectified. So close to everything. Advertised with swimming pool, did ask but pool was not heated as too costly to heat, this was a shame for my Granddaughter s she had brought her costume. OTHERWISE HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

My sister and I have just spent a wonderful week at the Riad Karmela and we had the most amazing stay. The hotel decor is lovely, very Moroccan with lots of colourful fixtures and fittings. The staff were great and nothing was too much trouble. We were on a half board basis and as I am vegetarian they made a special effort to make sure that the set menus were flexible enough to accommodate me. The room was very clean, plenty of hot water and clean towels etc. It’s walking distance to the famous Medina and the hotel arranged all our trips including to the Atlas Mountains. They also arranged a a guide to take us to places we would never have been able to find!! Overall a fabulous holiday with some amazing memories. Very sad to leave but hopefully will be back.

Booked 3 nights, didnt know much about the place but wanted to stay in some place local and enjoy the ambience and culture. This was all of that. From the time of picking us in airport to check in we were blown away with the staff. They are truly welcoming, gracious and always ready to help. Ameen ( both day time and night time ) were always ready to give us pointers on where to visit and what to do. Made reservations for dinners. The locale was interesting and we had fun, we would definitely recommend this place

We spent six nights at Riad Petit Karmela over new year and were very pleased with our stay. We arrived in the middle of the night, were picked up at the airport by a taxi booked by the riad and taken to a square in the medina where we were met by the security man from the riad who accompanied us the last bit of way (five minutes) to the riad. Absolutely essential to ask the riad to pick you up in the airport! The riad is very difficult to find on your own and inaccessible by car. On the first morning we were given a map of the medina and Mahdi gave us directions for the various sights and advice on restaurants, etc. In general, the staff were very nice and helpful. We also booked a tour to the Atlas Mountains through the riad, which was a great experience. Breakfast, which is very nice, is served in the main riad, Riad Karmela, right next to Petit Karmela where they also serve a nice three-course dinner (and wine) at night. We took part in the New Year dinner also held in the Riad Karmela patio and where staff took great care to make it a festive evening. As is apparent from the photos, Riad Petit Karmela and Riad Karmela have a nice atmosphere with orange trees and palms in the patio and nicely decorated doors and fountains, etc in authentic Moroccan style. A great place to come back to after a busy day in the medina. The three riads, Petit Karmela, Karmela and Karmela Pricesse, are run by the same owner and are right next to each other. Our room in Riad Petit Karmela was not very large, but nice and clean, and because Petit Karmela only consists of five rooms, it was relatively quiet at night (as opposed to, I think, the rooms opening up to the downstairs patio in Riad Karmela). We also enjoyed the roof terrace where you could sit and read and relax. Marrakech is a great city to visit. We would like to come back and will happily stay at Riad Petit Karmela again.

We were upgraded to a better room in the adjoining Riad Zenab which was beautiful. A small pool outside the room. Service was excellent. The two Nourias were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good but was only served in the Zenab fit the last two nights. The first two we had to go over to the main Katmela.

Located in the heart of the souks. 8-10min walk from jemma al-fna. It can be a difficult to find your way home in the dark but in the day time very easy to locate as long as you locate the vegetable market. Taxis cannot drop you off in the souk so you most likely have to get dropped from jemma al-fna and walk from there to your riad. My sister and I stayed all together in the riad for 7 days, the room was very traditional which i loved and had such detailed items in the room. There was air-con and wifi was good too. When we first arrived we bushra welcomed us very well and gave some advice and history about marrakech and also some excursions that the riad offers. The breakfast is amazing!!! buffet breakfast on the roof -top which is so beautiful, you can hear the birds. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming, always willing to help you and make you comfortable. it is relatively safe area, it is so easy to explore marrakech from the riad petit karmela and your able to do so much sight-seeing without travelling so much. I really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend people that truly want to experience the culture to stay at this riad because it is in the old town. To sum up experience i would say memorable!!!

Riad Petite Karmala if a very nice place to stay at. Well located in the old Medina. Rooms are nice as well as the staff. Khalid works in the food area is a great helpful guy. I lost my cel in Casablanca, but was found by someone. Khalid helped me to contact the hotel where my phone was left which I would have had a hard time to do by myself. They have professional staff that are all helpful and willing to help in many areas. My only complain is that the room was noisy at night with lots of knocking like a hammer, which made sleeping very difficult. I am not sure of the source of the noise, but when I shouted and knocked on my bed head the noise was reduced. The air condition also made strange noises. Overall it was one of the most professional places I had stayed at in Morocco. The food is great and priced well. Breakfast was rich and has a variety of choices. The staff was very accommodating.

Il me tarde déjà d'y retourner !! merci encore !!!

The Hotel is located in a dangerous neighborhood, staff informed the guests not to go out at night. The shower drain was loose and a rat was staring at me. There was no tv in the room and when I asked the front desk, She was quite nasty, during the breakfast buffet staff was watching us constantly to check how much food we were taking , this was very uncomfortable situation that I never experience in any hotel. When we checked in they DID NOT GIVE US A KEY, we could not even lock the room at night and We secured the door with some furniture before We went to sleep, I would not even rate this Hotel with one star. When We were checking out, the owner stated that F/D should not given this room bcos it was under renovation which explained everything. They are in discriminating behavior because We were 3 women from Morocco not a European or American seemed like were more welcome in this Hotel. Watch yourself and DON'T EVEN THINK TO BOOK.
