Beautiful setting excellent food. Breakfast was ample and in the beautiful courtyard. Dinner was excellent also in courtyard. We enjoyed the swimming pool several times and we nice to use in the heat. The room was lovely but bed was a rock and late in evening you could hear the loud talking in the courtyard. The location is excellent and attentive staff.

My family’s stay at this Riad was beyond memorable. All the 4 of us loved every detail of the Riad. The staff couldn’t be more professional or nicer and to name a couple Anwar and Aya. The location was perfect allowing us to access the Old Town as was the rest. The decoration was breathtakingly beautiful and authentic. We were upgraded to an amazing room on the roof top. Breakfast, the bar,the dining were excellent. Would highly recommend it to everyone visiting Fez.

A real gem of a riad well located for walking to the souks. Our driver dropped us off at a gate and the riad staff walked us to the riad reception. It was a short but complicated walk initially but once we memorized the 'right right left left right' directions it was easy to navigate. The riad was very upscale. Room was spacious and comfortable. Reception staff were always friendly and helpful. The restaurant had great ambiance. Both breakfast and dinner were superb.

Absolutely AMAZING experience at the rooftop bar. Incredible service from Anouar and Mehdi. They were both so attentive and welcoming. Anouar made us his signature cocktail (incredible - definitely ask for this!). We didn’t need to ask for anything, they were already ahead of the game. 10/10. 5 star service - made our night in Fes one to remember! ☺️

This riad was stunning, the details are amazingly aesthetically appealing, the stained glass windows gave the most stunning reflection when the sun was shining in. Our room was also beautiful with many small Moroccan touches. The bed was comfortable with different types of pillows which I really appreciated. Our room had delicious Moroccan cookies and dates. What i really loved was our bathroom, it had black soap and clay, I really did want to try this before purchasing, riad Fes gave me the chance. We were welcomed by Anwar who greeted us with sparkling wine and Moroccan nibbles. He provided us with good information on Fes. The staff service is excellent at riad fes. Anwar and Maha were very hospitable. You must try the Moroccan Rose cocktail made by the barman Abdul, it probably was the best cocktail Iv had. The breakfast was also delicious, there is a continental buffet, and you can also order hot breakfast too which was included in our stay. I really did appreciate the porter Abdulraq. He was helpful with our luggage, our car was parked quite far.

We stayed at the Riad Fes - Relais & Châteaux for a short two-night visit to the old city, and it was a truly lovely experience. Despite the summer heat, the riad provided a cool, peaceful, and relaxing retreat from the vibrant streets of the medina. We were kindly upgraded to a beautiful suite, which made our stay feel extra special. The riad itself is stunning, with classic Fassi architecture, intricate tilework, and a serene atmosphere that reflects the spirit of traditional Fes. A real highlight of our stay was dinner at the hotel’s Gayza restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious – rich in flavor, beautifully presented, and made with care. The service was just as impressive: warm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable. As a family with a three-year-old child, we were also grateful for how welcoming the staff were. While the old city may not be the easiest place for young kids, the riad itself made us feel very comfortable and supported throughout. Highly recommended for those looking to enjoy the charm of Fes in a refined, authentic, and family-friendly setting

Riad Fès – Relais & Châteaux is one of the finest places I’ve ever stayed. From the moment you walk through the doors, you’re immersed in a world of refined luxury, historic beauty, and top-tier hospitality. The riad itself is stunning – elegant courtyards, ornate tilework, and a rooftop terrace with sweeping views of the Fès medina. The ambiance is classy, serene, and timeless. The service was impeccable, and Anouar deserves special recognition. He brought an incredible level of care and sophistication to everything he did, from warm hospitality to crafting cocktails that would rival NYC institutions like The Dead Rabbit or Employees Only. Each evening was elevated by his presence and talent. The spa and pool offer a peaceful retreat, and the restaurant delivers beautifully executed Moroccan cuisine in a stunning setting. Every part of the experience felt thoughtful and seamless. Traveler tip: Be sure to call ahead before your arrival – you can’t drive directly to the riad. There’s a nearby area where you can park briefly to unload, and the staff will graciously assist you with your bags. It’s all part of the smooth, welcoming experience that makes this place so special. If you’re visiting Fès and want a stay that blends luxury, authenticity, and heart — Riad Fès is the one. We can’t wait to return.

Stunning riad in an excellent location in the Medina. So much to love about this hotel - luxurious but intimate, welcoming staff, courtyards, gorgeous restaurant setting and lovely rooftop bar and terrace. Not to mention the pool, which was the perfect on a very hot Fes day.

It’s a spectacular building with an amazing restaurant and good service.

Wonderful, luxurious stay in the heart of the Old City of Fes. The staff was exceptional in every way. By dinner of our first day we were recognized and addressed by name. Nothing appeared to be any trouble. The Riad was spotlessly clean and well maintained. The dinning options were satisfying and ordering off menu was available (within reason). The front desk was helpful in arranging, city tours, drivers and guides. I would definitely stay here upon a future visit to Fes.

The restaurant is really nice. Elevated Moroccan cuisine, perfectly balanced. The rooftop bar, on the other hand, is a nightmare. Poor service, slow as hell in making (extremely expensive) drinks and even bringing you the wrong orders. The Riad is gorgeous and the staff is very attentive. We were only a short walk away from the parking lot and they send staff to assist with luggage. We only got lost once. lol Walking into the riad was an immediate jolt into elegance from the tiny streets outside. We loved the decor and the grandeur of it all. We had dinner at the restaurant one evening, which was wonderful, in additon to the included breakfast each morning. The bathrooms in the public area by the restaurant are also beautiful. They reminded me of a wedding venue. They have a rooftop bar. We used the pool and the fitness center but not the spa. We also used room service which was quick and accomodating when they were out of the fish dish that I wanted. They replaced it with a fish entree from the dinner menu. I could not figure out how to work the shower which was too hot to use. Maintence came to fix it while we were out. I thought I had scratched myself in my sleep but it turned out to be bug bites on my right arm that became a bit red and itchy. I never did find and kill the bug that bit me but I had left the window open for a lengthy period when looking at the view of the pool. Keep the windows closed.

Ahmed (i believe this was his name) at the Front Desk as well as every person in the hotel is attentive and offers great service. The restaurant is in an amazing setting. Breathtakingly beautiful hotel. Amazing staff!!! On arrival we were greeted with drinks and asked to sit in the beautiful lobby while they prepared our rooms. The hotel and the restaurant were so incredible that we didn't even bother going anywhere else to eat. Riad Fes is a gorgeous property with Moroccan architecture and decor at its finest; it perfectly combines unique character and luxury. The rooftop has beautiful views of the city and Rif mountains. Anoüæŕ was a great bartender and server who was so happy and helpful. He went above and beyond to make us comfortable. We really enjoyed the Andalusian music at dinner and the musician Bernise was very welcoming. We recommend trying the eight Moroccan salads at the Restaurant Gayza. The Valentine’s Day rose petals, Fez traditional hats, and heart-shaped pavlova and chocolates were very cute for celebrating. They easily coordinated day tours and excursions for us. We were confused by the light switches in the room and the luggage service was delayed but were minor inconveniences. Most guests were American as well. All in all, it was a wonderful 3-night stay in Fes!

Food in the dining room was excellent - we stuck to Moroccan, but there was also French cuisine. We had a great experience in the hammam, and enjoyed the small pool and small gym. Riad Fes was a dream. To enter the hotel is to be transported to another world. The decor is simply stunning. Our room on the top floor with a private terrace overlooking the Medina was well appointed and gorgeous. But most of all service (especially by staff in the restaurant) was outstanding. We had the best vegan dinners and breakfasts of any hotel we stayed at over our 10-day trip to Morocco. Everything was delicately spiced, colorful and very tasty. Moroccan hospitality at its best.

Where do I begin than with the concierge Nicolas as well as his extremely brilliantly chosen front staff who were some the greatest I have ever encountered in 25 years luxury travel. What an amazing team both front desk, recommendation for day guides and the Spa we fully took advantage of booking daily massages wit the masseuses and the luxurious Hamman experience that makes one feel like a Moroccan princess out of the fairy tales. The Maroc Maroc beauty treatments were luxurious and very high end as one who travels the most luxurious spas worldwide. The breakfast was absolutely amazing and while we were burnt out of fine dining the Terrace Bar served exceptional light American fair that we ate there 5 out of the 6 times on the roof since my American husband was missing American baby sliders after 12 Moroccan spicy food. The lamb burgers the drinks and the amazing bartenders on the Roof top bar with a view of a lifetime was an extraordinary experience at less than 30 dollars each that was a steal with that amazing once in a lifetime view. We were treated like royalty and when we decided to extend our stay and scrap the camel desert tour we luxuriated two more days in their Spa which stole the show. The hotel is gorgeous; food exceptional with Michelin star trained chef. We will come back again just to visit the hotel and Spa. Luxurious and sexy stay but then again, it was our honeymoon

Cons: Nothing to change.

Just off a busy street of souks, down some quiet alleys, this riad starts gives a very unassuming impression that is quickly subverted once you pass through its door into the palatial lobby. In comparison to other Moroccan cities, the riads of Fes have a grander feel with high, reaching ceilings, but this is above and beyond the others I have seen, with luxury in every detail. The space itself was beautiful, the room we had was lovely (pics in the listing are accurate). We made use of the hammam and spa services and would recommend those as well. Sitting in the common area after our massages, drinking tea while the impossibly long, light curtains swayed gently in the air currents was one of the most relaxing experiences in recent memory. While we didn’t eat there for dinner, we had drinks at the bar on the roof for sunset and by the fountain in the evening and if you’re through exploring the city, these are great options to unwind. All in all, we were incredibly impressed with the riad and would stay again in a heartbeat.

Riad Fes is opulent. Everything about this place is amazing. Staff very kind and accommodating. Facilities are a marvel, really a breathtaking place. Best place I stayed during 2 week visit across Morocco (and I stayed at some very nice places)

This hotel is lovely and lives up to all the hype from the other reviews. The space is gorgeous. Staff is nice and friendly. Plenty of good things to say there. Generous welcome and breakfast offerings. That said, we had an issue with cockroaches in our room throughout our stay. The staffs response was mixed when alerting them. Some seemed shocked and some seemed “yeah, it’s hot this time of year, it happens”. They sent housekeeping on both occasions and were overall apologetic. Just something to be aware of.

This property IS beautiful. However, due to our status with Expedia, we should have been offered a room upgrade. The one we were in was dark and small. The worst part by far, was the fact that there was no alcohol being served. We picked this place because of the rooftop bar overlooking the city and due to Ramadan they wouldn’t even allow guests to drink (which was not an issue at any other hotel we stayed at in Morocco). I think for the price, this should have been told to us prior to check in because we would have opted to stay elsewhere. We had a few things organized through the hotel, everything was a half hour to an hour late. And getting here if you are driving is NOT easy. Google maps will tell you it can get right there but it is in a walking only zone. The chaos caused a lot of stress. I have been at other hotels where if this is the case they message you ahead of time with parking instructions and coordinate a time so that they can meet you to help with bags. The staff here WAS very helpful and friendly and we had no issues with them at all, they were lovely but this is just not the standards we expect from a Relais & Chateaux

Good location

Cons: The room did not have working A/C - it required fixing after we arrived. The room was furnished with used coffee pods that we had to replace after several requests. The gym equipment is generally old - the gym had one brand new treadmill, but the elliptical and the bike machine were too old to function properly. We had to cut our stay short by one night (for other reasons, nothing to do with the hotel), we settled the bill the night before departure, only to be met by a request at 5:30am on our departure from the front desk to pay the taxes for the night we were not staying, which we refused (because we were not staying that night). The whole thing could have been handled more thoughtfully.

Breakfast was exceptional and it felt more like being treated in a Michelin Star Restaurant. Very much impressed with the quality of food and presentation. The entire Riad is exceptionally beautiful with emphasis on privacy and never felt being in a hotel. Got upgraded to Calife Suite with private patio. No doubt, the best place to stay in the entire Medina of Fes !!! Rooftop bar was definitely a treat.

Cons: Everything was perfect, from courteous staff at the front desk to restaurant team, all the time being treated like a royalty.

Highly maintained modern property with Moroccan architecture. Good breakfast and facilities

Cons: Staff was good but for a property that is in the middle of nowhere their kitchens closed at 10pm. We arrived on a late flight and they didn’t even offer to make us anything. We had to ask them to get us something from outside. They also didn’t offer to drop us to the next Riad who didn’t have any porters . Felt that staff was doing bare minimum to keep things going

The stay at the hotel was incredible, we loved every minute. The facility is beautiful, the rooftop is fantastic, and my partner loved the pool! Would love to come back. It was a domestic flight I recommend they tell everyone to leave two hours before.

A gem of a hotel located in the medina of Fes. The dining staff is wonderful. Location is great. Rooms were very clean. Good breakfast and dinner, and lovely seating. The amenities were stunning, we made use of the pool, roof top deck and restaurant all in a one night stay. We had a misunderstanding at the restaurant but the manager took care of making it right for us without hesitation which was greatly appreciated. Can’t say enough good things about Riad Fes. The property is beautifully decorated , the staff is attentive but not intrusive. Everything about the Riad is about a peaceful calm oasis right in the hustle bustle of the oldest Medina in the world. We can’t say enough good things about the staff at the reception, they were so welcoming even though we arrived much earlier than our check in time and generously offered us tea and pastries. The view from the rooftop bar is amazing and not to be missed especially at sunset. This is the by far the finest property to stay in Fes.

Cons: Some staffs are not trained to provide five star hotel service. To close the room door, you have to touch the card key, which is unusual, but the porter who showed us to the room didn’t explain it. So we had difficulty to find out how to close the door. No way to reach the hotel by car, but they do a good job of sending folks over to help with luggage. Location is great. Rooms are huge and hotel is beautiful. However... the restaurant is mediocre and overpriced. Breakfast is mediocre too. Our room had no windows, which wasn't great. And last, we left my daughter's handbag in the room when we checked out and hotel staff must have taken it home, since they claim they didn't find it (after numerous phone calls and emails that were ignored.

Beautifully restored and tastefully decorated riad in the medina. The staff is amazing, very friendly, professional and giving personal attention. The swimming pool area is beautiful. If you go to Fes in the summer, the swimming pool is a must. The rooms are spacious and decorated with the best local materials, the tiles are amazing. Breakfast has a great selection of local fresh products. We visited other riads in Fes for dinner or lunch but none approached the perfection of this place. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Fes and I already long to go back.

Magnificent property, great location, fabulous terrace area

Cons: The front desk staff and GM. I was disappointed with the lack of communication from the hotel prior to arriving. I wanted to book a food tour on a particular day. It took 3 emails to get a response and that response was 100% in error as the day we wished to do the tour was a national Islamic holiday so everything was closed. On arrival I spoke to the concierge as to why the poor and slow advice? He was away sick and he deals with all emails. Putting this aside we were all (3 in our group) hot (44 degrees) and looking forward to a beer. As it was the eve of the Islamic holiday the hotel wasn’t able to serve any alcohol for 2 days, their advice. There were establishments that did so no issue there. On the day after the Islamic holiday, our friend was leaving and we arrived back to the hotel to have a final lunch only to be told still no alcohol was being served. Once again, no issue had we been given the correct information but we had a limited time for lunch and now we had to make other arrangements. A This is a Relias & Chateau property and would expect staff to know this. I asked if to speak to the GM . Well, he could only say it was government edict.. but he missed the point completely. It was incorrect advise from his staff and I requested he arrange a taxi, at the hotel’s expense to take us to another hotel. He said it’s to short a drive for a taxi. However having eaten there for the last two days I knew that to be incorrect. It was only 2-3 kms but all uphill and with one friend with luggage in 44 degree heat. Seriously! After a heated discussion, he agreed to reimburse (which they never did) the taxi fare (only a few dollars) . Most unpleasant and it could have been handled in with more diplomacy. Next morning he greeted us at breakfast restating the public holiday policy ( no understanding of poor communication) and offered us a drink that evening even though we were leaving the hotel that day.

Staff and decor was great

Cons: As a muslim, I think you need to make the hotel more appealing to muslim guests. So offer halal Hamaam packages (man to man) and also the food options need to emphasise halal a lot more as there was a lot of wine on the menu and you put wine in your food also so I would like that to be addressed because we were not always comfortable ordering from your hotel and opted to go to other places that did not serve alcohol at all.

The property is exceptionally beautiful - a preserved traditional and luxurious world apart that is a joy to enter away from the more hectic areas of the Medina in which it is located. Food in the main (and largely outdoor) dining room and complimentary breakfast is excellent. Non-management staff throughout the property (door-opening, cleaning, spa, etc.) and particularly wait staff at dinner are lovely - warm, helpful, efficient, delightful to be around. The Rooftop Bar provides a nice alternative for sunset or later at night, and the pool in a totally different, modern courtyard seemed quite inviting (we were too tired from sightseeing to swim).

Cons: Room was attractive and comfortable (as was the bathroom), but exceedingly dark at night -- addition of a floor lamp would help -- and because our room faced into the beautiful outdoor dining court exceedingly noisy at night (as the bar and private dining room activities extended into early morning hours) and again in early morning. Management staff did not seem particularly warm, responsive or helpful. Although we were promised that the staff the next day after our arrival would address the problem of the room location, there was no follow through until we pursued it. Then, a manager informed us that the riad was fully booked the second night, and that we could be moved to a different room on the third night -- but again there was no follow-through by management the next day. A request to another manager for direction to a pharmacy that could provide the equivalent of immodium for a temporary stomach problem resulted first in a lecture that the hotel could not provide medication (OK, a language misunderstanding), then an offer to have hotel staff go and get some (declined because we were already on our way out of the hotel for the day), and finally with vague directions to one pharmacy that might be open (it was a holiday) and if not (it wasn't) would have information posted about the closest open pharmacy (undecipherable to a non-Arabic reader). A request to still another manager for direction to the Blue Gate resulted in sarcasm when I interpreted the response as including a segment where one must descend to the main Talaa Sghira street, even though I understood that the Talaa Sghira is concurrently ascending to the Blue Gate. Even the lovely offer of tea in the main court of the riad upon our arrival was handled in a less than fully gracious manner ("here's your tea; give me your passport"). Riad Fes is only about 92+% of what a Relais & Chateaux property ought to be, but I'd recommend it despite its shortcomings.

This might be the most beautiful hotel I've ever seen. Truly exceptional, from the antiques to the tile work to the pool, to our room, which was massive. We chose the most basic option and it included a giant soaking tub, a separate marble bathroom, a huge king sized bed and an entire closet. The property is truly luxury Morocco and a daydream to spend time in. We paid $350 for 2 nights and it was WELL worth the price

Cons: there is no bathroom door. There was a large carved relief that acted as a wall between the bathroom and the bed, but it left little privacy. It was fine for us, as a couple. Might have been a little awkward if I was traveling with a friend or if someone got sick in the middle of the night

Located in a beautiful Riad in the old Medina, it was a great place to start various tours of Fes (with guides recommended by the concierge). Small details were lovely - snacks, fruit etc...

The hotel Riad Fes was spectacular and I highly recommend it as a destination in Fes!! The hotel staff were very helpful and the service overall was excellent. The hotel is in a very convenient location within the Medina and it was very central to walk around the Medina to sightsee.

It was ok - we expected more. The first issue was that the hotel organised a transfer from airport to hotel and when we arrived at the airport nobody was there. I had to call hotel twice to follow up. Driver showed up more than 20 min late. The hotel is nice but it lost its charm. It is a Riad but it seems it became a comercial entity and it is not personal. We stayed in a room that was part of a building extension with terrible lay out/ access with stairs going up and down to reach it, there was strange smell at the corridors (maybe due to no air circulation or something else) and the room didn’t feel really like a Riad. The rooftop bar is amazing with a great view from the city. The food at the restaurant was spectacular!!’n

It is really an amazing and beautiful, there are pool, roof terrence, large lobby, etc. It is very chill stay in the riad. However, the staff of reception in riad is not as good as the hotel itself. It took a really long time for us to check in, the staff was just holding our passport and chatting with others. There was no introduction, we had to ask everything by our own. Other staffs are very friendly.

Riad Fes is a treat to one's eyes with it's ornate and opulent courtyard. The interiors are a quintessential Moroccan dream. Every pillar, and roof are magnificent. Conveniently located in the medina it is easily accessible to most tourist attractions. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Food is excellent although expensive. Would highly recommend.

The Riad Fes is extraordinarily beautiful but the service is lacking--especially for a Relais & Chateaux property. Let's start with the good. The structure is a monument of traditional design and contemporary elegance. Rooms are large, comfortable and there is a deep tub for soaking. There is a spa, pool and a restaurant with good food and rushed service. Breakfast is very good and there is an unlimited supply of the fresh orange juice that is beter in Morocco than where else in the world. For dinner, we were hurried through the seven-course chef's tasting menu in less than an hour. Through the staff SEEMS to be helpful, many details fall short. The fitness room was consistently short of water, towels, adequate lighting and a working TV. The treadmill operated well but the eliptical was broken. In our room, the TV malfunctioned, a key light in the bathroom was burnt out and the handle fell the door to our room. The swimming pool is next to a wine bar but there was no drink service until we went and found a waiter. For the most part, issues were resolved promptly but you expect better in a luxury property and from Relais & Chateaux. The Riad Fes were encouraged to rethink a reservation at the number-two-rated restaurant on Trip Advisor. The alternative recommended was the Relais de Paris. We took the Riad's advice and enjoyed an evening of poor service and bland food. The Riad Fes is in a decent location, there is a shortage of signage in the medina to find your wa

Surprisingly affordble and extremely luxurious riad in the heart of the medina. Rooms are all very different and beautifully appointed. I stayed in 'Raja' which was spacious and had a blue/green theme. For the same pruce my friend stayed in 'Ataryin' whicn was also lovely but split level with bathroom downstairs. The food was amazing. Beautiful buffet breakfast and traditional Morrocan on the a la carte for lunch and dinner. Food on the expensive side for Morocco but well worth it. The riad also arranged an airport pickup and a guide for our first day. Definitely do both. Guide was 400 dirham for half day and very knowledgeable. He was interested in the history and current way of life inside the medina, with excellent English. Standard guide practice is to take you to shops where he will get a commission. Just say upfront if you are not interested in carpets etc. He had the local characters along the way show us what they did and let us take photos e.g. stoke the hammam fires or sharpen handmade knives, then flipped them a coin afterwards. Easy way to experience the medina without the hassle and also nice to support the locals. Guide will expect tip afterwards.

My main problem with this Riad was drug dealers. The taxis can't go all the way to the front door because the alley is to narrow for cars. You have to call the hotel and ask someone to come and meet you at a square nearby whom will then open a gate to a private garden and walk you to the hotel (about 200 yards). While I was waiting for the bellboy I was harassed by local youth whom also tried to sell me drugs. Definitely not safe either to wait there or try to walk to the hotel from the narrow and dark alley without the hotel's bellboy. The Riad is quite nice in the common areas. Rooms are "OK" not special not bad either. The stuff was very polite but not helpful enough.

A luxurious paradise right in the middle of the old town. The staff were incredibly polite, helpful and friendly. It was fantastically clean. The interiors and the furniture were beautiful and full of character. We were told that this hotel was a combination of 2-3 houses linked together, done by a Moroccan architect. We enjoyed our stay very much and fully recommend it to eveyone.

We stayed for the weekend but the experience was absolutely amazing. we have been upgraded to a junior suite, on the top terrace very near to the sky bar which has a great view over the old city. though the spa was closed in the hotel for that particular weekend, they arranged for us transportation to a sister hotel and they arranged the booking as well. when we came back from the spa a guide was waiting for us to give us a tour in the old city where we had dinner also. very pleasant people indeed. Thank you

The experience was awesome. The riad was an oasis of peace and tranquillity and exceptionally kept. Awa the manager was amazing and gave full attention to our needs. Definitely recommend it for families. This was our first visit to Fes with teenagers whom enjoyed it thoroughly. The breathtaking panoramic views of the medina from the terrace allow you to soak in the Moroccan atmosphere and sip tea. Breakfast was exceptional every day.

A beautiful, elegant hotel which captures the grandeur of Morocco, and provides a welcome respite from the heat, hustle and bustle outside. Service has been curt and professional, but it's the experience of the stay, the rooms, the architecture that really shines. Riad Fes also offers a wonderful breakfast selection, a great defustation style dinner menu, along with rooftop bar. If you want to stay in Fes in style, this is probably the place to do it.

This hotel just screams luxury. The staff were ever so friendly and helpful with all of our needs and requests, providing us with helpful advice and guidance during the length of our stay. There was a problem with our room initially, but they made up for this by upgrading us to another, larger room. Given that the first room was enormous and beautifully decorated, we were positively thrilled with our new, larger room!
