Hotel Important Information
Show LessGuests MUST be duely informed that Riad Monceau is a music hotel to avoid misunderstanding then complaints. We suggest the following presentation: Founded on a unique "jazz hotel, restaurant & spa" concept, Riad Monceau offers an experience like no other. Located just 328 feet from the famous Jemaa El Fna Square, and one of the most beautiful Arab-Andalusian palaces in the city of Marrakech, Riad Monceau brings together four establishments with music and jazz as their central theme. A boutique hotel & spa with 9 rooms, first and foremost, offering the comfort and services that discerning travelers expect from a charming 5-star hotel. There's also a gourmet restaurant, Le Bistro Arabe, organized around the riad's central patio and pool, where some of the continent's best jazz musicians perform every evening from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Higher up, on the rooftop terrace, is La Pergola, the first rooftop to be created in Marrakech, and one of the city's most popular venues. It's a must-see for jazz lovers and, more generally, epicureans looking for quality yet relaxed dining. Finally, a more intimate affair is Caravan, a cocktail bar where Hanane, Morocco's only head bartender, expertly mixes the ultimate cocktails. Romantic as you wish, charming, proud of a positioning as qualitative as festive, the Riad Monceau is therefore aimed at a clientele likely to appreciate a certain effervescence until around 11 p.m., time at which the restaurants and the bar close their doors, and moment from which the riad finds the tranquility that befits a charming hotel. The only sounds that can then be heard are those of the birds that populate the immense palm trees that adorn the patio, as well as the abundant vegetation on the terraces, making the "Monceau" the incredible oasis that has earned it its nickname of "nest for lovers" for 20 years now. Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.

Major Notes (as you wine buffs say )are Location - Ambience - Bistro Arabe with on-site jazz - rooftop restaurant Pergola. So ….. if they say 50 is the age when Why questions should convert to Why Nots then Riad Monceau is a Why Not at any age .
Cons: Minor Notes- TV flattered then frustrated to deceive. I’d skip any Taxi starting with the moniker JonyTravel - they asked for Flight Details ( given ) when they really meant ETA ( lazy ) and then despite my multiple contacts with them on arrival after Customs they claimed I was a No Show ( ie No Refund .

Cons: Ne changez rien !

It was an immaculate Riad in a very good position in the medina , the staff were very friendly & especially Soufian on the front desk who was extremely helpful to every request & enquiry. The 2 restaurants are fantastic & there is a great bar. There is live jazz music every evening, which creates a wonderful atmosphere . We ate twice at L’arabe Bistro, the rooftop restaurant - excellent. You won’t regret staying here

ABSOLUTE FRECHHEIT.

Great staff under the leadership of Chaymae is really what makes this riad standout from others. The riad was conveniently located by the main square (al fna) and the rooms were clean with an extra touch of fruits and other amenities. My wife was sick and Chaymae accompanied me to the closest pharmacy after 11pm to get me the help she needed, which was above and beyond the services you would expect! Kudos to you Chaymae for providing us a wonderful experience!

If I could give this property 10 stars, I definitely would. I have never experienced such great hospitality in all my years of traveling. The ENTIRE staff were very welcoming, super friendly, and accommodating, I really felt like home away from home. The property is very clean and beautiful. The food and atmosphere were spectacular. And the location is priceless. I was very impressed on how the whole staff took care of their customers but I would like to give a special recognition to Chaymae, the property manager. She went above and beyond the entire time when I needed something. Checked on me regularly during the day and while I was there to make sure I was well taken care of and had everything I needed. She is truly a Gem! Thank you all very much for my pleasant stay!! I highly recommend this hotel!!

From the moment we arrived, the staff at Riad Montecau made our stay exceptional. Soffian, the receptionist, greeted us with incredible kindness and was always ready to help with any questions. Abdel Halim, the porter, was equally helpful and ensured our luggage was taken care of and assisted us with extras. The interiors of the riad are beautiful, and the honeymoon suite truly exceeded our expectations. The hot tub in the bathroom truly added luxury and romance to our experience. The room was stunning, also impeccably clean and well-maintained. What stood out most was the staff's dedication to providing outstanding service. They happily arranged our laundry, offered excellent recommendations for local attractions, and always went the extra mile to ensure our needs were met. The included breakfast was delicious and provided a great start to each day. We highly recommend Riad Montecau to anyone looking for a memorable Riad in Marrakesh.

I had a Pina colada, an Orange juice and a coffee. The bill was over £30. I have a receipt as well that I can send on request. There was no buffet breakfast as stated on their site. They don’t do toasts. Only bread rolls. Bed comfort was ok but rooms are quite humid and damp. My husband’s asthma triggered due to this. Some steps on the staircase are steep and inclined. We decided to leave after spending a horrible night there due to lack of health and safety measures. There was no live jazz live music which was our main reason to book this place and restaurant is very quiet and too pricey for the food quality.

We recently stayed at Riad Monceau and had a fantastic experience! The breakfast was wonderful, with a great selection of options. The staff were absolutely delightful - cheerful, friendly, happy, and super helpful. Special shoutout to two staff members Shopihan & Chaymai who went above and beyond! Live entertainment was very enjoyable. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, which added to the overall comfort of our stay. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others. One suggestion for improvement: playing some light/subtle background music during breakfast time could enhance the ambiance and uplift the mood. Given the hotel's boutique charm, this small touch would fit perfectly. Overall, we’re so impressed with Riad Monceau and can't wait to return!" 😊👍 Wege & Sumitra Edinburgh

We have traveled quite a bit and this hotel is one of our favorites - it's wonderful! The location in the old town is fabulous- around the corner from the main square. The hotel arranged rides for us and walked us to and from the car (because it is easy to get turned around in the narrow streets). We loved the rooftop bar and the pool was refreshing in the afternoons. The rooms were lovely too, with fresh fruit, bathrobes, slippers, comfy towels and good A/C. The breakfast was really good as well. The best part about the hotel really was the staff - everyone was so helpful and friendly. I emailed quite a bit before we arrived and the hotel helped arrange dinner reservations, a tour guide, and a trip to desert for camel rides and dinner. We highly recommend.

The members of staff always had a smile, they were friendly and welcoming. The riad was a delight and a proper introduction to Moroccan architecture. The restaurants and its decor were so inviting with their locations within the property strategic, one at the ground floor close to the pool and the other at the rooftop. The room was okay, with the weather temperature of over 40 degrees Celsius, the ac in the room was cool and a delight to return after venturing outside. I loved the decor all around the property and would love to visit again.

Great property in the heart of the Medina, with easy reach to the site and taxi ranks for longer trips. Great food and music. Exceptional service by all of the staff.
Cons: All very good, although getting to your room during busy dinner service can be a bit challenging when dining guest are there. However, it’s very easy to avoid this and we only got caught in this once, as our room was on the ground floor and planned our evenings out better. The venue is great overall.

The hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful during the entire stay. We’re greeted with hot tea and pastries upon arrival. We were allowed to check in about an hour early. Restaurant on top of the roof is nice but we were unable to eat at the other restaurant on the base level because it was closed on the evening we wanted to eat without notice. Room was clean and spacious. Private patio was a plus! Room service came every day. Mini-bar in room is not included in stay. I would definitely recommend this Riad!

We had a wonderful stay at this charming 9-bedroom Riad in Morocco. The location was absolutely perfect—just a short walk to the main square, the medina, and all the key sights. What truly made our experience special was Chaymae, the main staff member, who looked after us from start to finish with such a warm and friendly personality. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her, and she made us feel right at home. The food was also excellent fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area! The jazz singers are another treat while we enjoyed our Dinner. Thank you to Chaymae and her staff.

This was an absolutely perfect Riad in Marrakesh. From the moment we entered the Riad, Sofiane made us feel like we were coming home. He was extremely welcoming and genuinely wanted to ensure we had a great stay - providing advice on places to go and going out of his way regularly to ensure our comfort. He also arranged for my wife and I to enjoy the private terrace and mini pool area - serving us lunch there. Equally welcoming was Chaymae the manager. She made us feel special, and ensured that our 20th wedding anniversary was truly memorable by setting up a last minute reservation at their sigautee restaurant, making recommendatios for our meal and giving us an incredible table to enjoy the wonderful jazz show. She repeatedly checked in on us and kept a smile on her face from morning to night - with so much dedication to all her guests. The restaurants, the Riad accomodations, the service at every turn was 5 stars. The location is also ideal - and while steps from the Medina the location was pure serenity. Thank you Chaymae and Sofiane. I have travelled all over the world - and you are hands down the two most impressive hospitality professionals I have ever come across. Riad Monceau is lucky to have you! We hope to be back soon!!!

This is an absolute gem in the heart of Marrakech, placed within the medina it is a great location for exploring the city. The staff are incredible, in particular Chaymae who went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. We felt so welcomed by them all and loved every minute. This riad is stunning and beautiful designed, clean and comfortable. The jazz evenings are beautiful and both the restaurants within the property are worth a visit. The jazz evenings are incredible which we loved but if you are tired and wanting an early night the music is loud and with people eating and drinking outside the room it prevents this. This would be my only warning for people staying here but the music finishes at 11pm and the place quickly quietens after this. The rooftop jacuzzi is stunning and a welcomed bit of peace and relaxation after a day of exploring. This place is honestly amazing and I would highly recommend a stay here.

The Riad is also a jazz club / restaurant. Amazing fun if you like Jazz and late nights, but if you are looking for a quiet stay, this is not for you. One of the best vacation we had for a long time. We have been traveling quite often and been to many different countries before. We were most impressed by the management staffs especially Zakarya manager who was very attentive and friendly. I highly recommend asking her to help you on your stay. The dinner staffs are also extremely nice especially the waiter Aumaima giving us a very memorable dinner. The captain and the hostess are also extraordinary and so surprised they kindly thank you in words and not accepting our tips, which is very unusually in Morocco. I personally think excellent services deserve monetary encouragement. The hotel really hires good managers. Thank you for the enjoyable stay and memorable services in Morocco. John and Eva

Amazing service from the staff - particularly the two ladies on reception who went out of their way to help and make us feel important. Nice products in the room and a great location. Enjoyed having a bar we could visit and the hammam experience was amazing.
Cons: The room was a little damp could do with some dehumidifiers. Would be nice to have a sun terrace to go relax but there was nowhere to enjoy the weather - all taken up by the restaurant upstairs. The food at the pergola restaurant was cold and not much choice.

We booked 4 nights in the honeymoon suite at Riad Monceau but left after one night due to serious concerns with the condition + safety of the room. The suite includes an in-room hot tub but has almost no ventilation—just a small extractor fan and an open hole in the wardrobe wall connecting the bathroom and bedroom. The bathroom walls and ceiling were extensively covered in black mould, and the entire suite felt and smelt extremely damp + foetid, including the bedding and furnishings. The hot tub ran constantly with no guest-accessible controls, and when we attempted to use it, my partner suffered minor burns from the scalding water. Staff shut it off via a hidden circuit breaker, and the manager sent burn cream when contacted. While staff were polite and apologetic at the time, when we chased up the refund of the remaining nights, a refund was refused, and hotels.com have been unable to resolve for us. We were offered a different room, but given this was the state of the property’s flagship suite, we had no confidence in the rest of the accommodation. The riad itself has charm — the bar and restaurant are stylish, and the atmosphere in the evenings is lively — but as a hotel, I would strongly suggest avoiding. One final note: the honeymoon suite is located directly beneath the rooftop bar. there was a lot of noise from staff packing down until around 1:00 a.m. Overall, this was a deeply disappointing and uncomfortable experience, and the room was frankly unsafe.

I think this was the best hotel experience I’ve ever enjoyed. The service was exceptional, the people lovely, the room was spotless and the whole atmosphere of the hotel was perfect. It truly is an oasis from the chaos of Marrakesh, and felt so relaxing to come back there knowing we had such amazing comfort awaiting us! And the added bonus of music and entertainment every evening just topped it off beautifully - as others queued up for access to the bar and restaurant we were treated like royalty as guests, and afforded every luxury.

We really enjoyed our stay at La Riad Monceau. Everyone who works there is so friendly and helpful. The driver was waiting for us at the airport, then the porter was waiting for us at the drop off point to take our luggage and guide us to the Riad, and then we were welcomed with tea/sweet treats and info about Marrakech from the hotel host. The location is perfect. It’s a close walk to Jemma El Fna square which is a great jumping off point for each day. We asked for a walking tour guide for our first day and a private driver to take us to the desert and then Fes, and they happily arranged it all for us. We really enjoyed the Hammam and rooftop jacuzzi and all of the restaurant/bars in the Riad as well. They will always accommodate you at the restaurants even though there is a line up out the door and down the alley every night. They have a live jazz band each night which we loved but you can hear from your room so if you are sensitive to noise, keep that in mind (however it ends at a reasonable time each night). Everything is perfectly clean and well maintained, and there is a great breakfast each morning. Overall we would happily stay again if we were to visit Marrakech again.

Le Riad Monceau was an absolute gem in the heart of Marrakesh! From the moment I arrived to the moment I left, the service was impeccable. The staff went above and beyond, and I have to give a special shoutout to the young lady who checked me in—she was amazing! (I wish I could remember her name, but she’s in my video!) The location is unbeatable—right in the middle of everything, making it easy to explore the vibrant souks, historical sites, and buzzing nightlife. Staying here truly felt like being immersed in the culture and energy of Marrakesh. Highly recommend!

Staying at Le Riad Monceau was like walking into a secret heaven. The smell of rose fragrance enchanted my senses as we walked in the door along with the moroccan decor. I felt a sense of peace and ease upon entering. We were greeted with the traditional Moroccan mint tea (which I love) and cookies. One of the cookies (Zwina) had a hint of cinnamon which is my favorite. Hosni provided us such comfort in welcoming my son and I. He made our stay feel like we were at home! We were immediately upgraded (Hosni was too sweet , I was in Awe) to a suite room with a jacuzzi! I didn't even mention prior that I was celebrating my birthday! It was really a gift to experience such luxury! My son was thrilled (I was introducing him to his moroccan roots)! We never had a room with a jacuzzi! I tried the haman oriental massage for the first time and it was so relaxing. In the morning we had a traditional moroccan style breakfast sitting by the pool in the middle of the Riad. The entire experience was magical! The location of the Riad is perfect for easy navigation to the medina. I would highly recommemd staying here and dip your toes in luxury.

A very special stay. As our first Riad experience we can hope but probably not experience such an authentic stay. What made it more special over and above the attentive service was the hamam, and the in incredibly vibey Bistro Aribe with its evening show. Dining here is a must for any stay

Le Riad Monceau is a great place to stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was terrific. The restaurant and bar upstairs were very nice. The location is perfect - close to the main square and everything that makes Marrakesh unique. One caveat - if you don't want to hear loud jazz music from 8-11 every night, reconsider. Jazz is an important part of Le Riad. Otherwise, I recommend this wonderful place in a wonderful city.

As other reviews have said this is a jazz club with a few rooms attached. It is not mentioned in the hotels.com description that there is live music from 8pm to 11pm every single night. The venue doesn’t get quiet until 11:30pm. It is especially noisy if you have one of the rooms facing on to the main restaurant area. Our first room was on the staircase to the restaurant and so people were walking noisy by the door every few minutes. The other riads we stayed at in Marrakech and Fes during our trip were very peaceful places to relax after a day sightseeing, this one was definitely not. We asked to be moved to a quieter room which the staff arranged although we had to go and remind the porter to bring our luggage over. The first room had a very lumpy duvet which clearly had been washed and not dried properly. This should have been spotted by housekeeping. The other 5 star riad we stayed at in Marrakech was better than this one. The staff were good, especially the female receptionist who was very friendly and welcoming. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food and drinks were great but it was overpriced. Breakfast was very good.

The property boasts two restaurants and a Jazz quartet every night until 11:00 pm. If you are looking for a quiet esthetic this is not the place for you. It is walking distance to shopping and restaurants in the Jemaa El Fna. The staff are very attentive, but do work on "Marrakech time". The only sour note was the missed booking for our hotel to airport shuttle which lead to a late departure from the hotel/Rhiad early Saturday morning. The vehicle pickup is a few hundred meters. from the hotel which forces you to walk with luggage to your pickup. However, the staff will dolly your luggage for you and lead you to the pickup point. It's an old world experience with all the trappings of a new world stay. Very enjoyable. My only disparaging point is the beds are not cushioned and have very little give. If you have any back issues you will notice them immediately.

This is a very nice Riad- very convenient near the square and if you pay to have a driver pick you up (do this), they carry your bags to the riad from the square. It’s not far. However, confirm the car with them close to your travel date because the car did not come for me initially, I had to have another person call the hotel for me. Also you will be able to hear fairly loud jazz music coming reom the courtyard into your room until around 10:30-11 each night. The staff are incredibly friendly though and the rooms are very nice. I would recommend this road.

Cons: We did leave a list at the Riad with staff to be passed on to the owner with our disappointments. This list was quite long. The focus on the restaurants and bar was high in priority compared to guest staying at the Riad. On the plus side the Riad manage ent cut our check out bill by 50% and they were very apologetic. The receptionist assured us that the feedback we provided would be passed on to the owner.

One of the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at… but don’t not expect to sleep too much if you are a light sleeper. It is in the middle of the medina and it is the most fantastic restaurant/jazz club in the evening. We ate every evening at the hotel as the food was fabulous and the bands/dancing and entertainment was out of this world. The compromise is it’s busy all the time and in the morning they are preparing for the next show. We were offered another room but we were only there for 3 nights so declined. That said we had the best time and loved the place and would highly recommend it. As hotel guests you get treated like royalty with best seats in the house and great service. The concierge was so good he organised so much for us and nothing was too much trouble he made our stay so easy. We did a guided tour which was excellent but beware you may get ushered into a carpet/furniture shop and spice shop and get the hard sell.. we needed a new suitcase. You can say No but it is hard ..

This was the first time we stayed at a riad in M’kesh. We have always stayed in a large hotel. So this review unfortunately reflects the differences between the two and our obvious preference for a hotel. The Monceau is charming and the staff are friendly. Our room was equipped with all the modern conveniences, and the bathroom was amazing. Our bed had seen better days and the mattress was not as comfortable as I would’ve liked. The riad had a band playing in the center courtyard from mid afternoon til late night, and because of the riad structure, you heard it all!! So if you want peace and quiet after a long day, you could not get it! That’s my main complaint. In a big hotel, you can retire to your room and be secluded from the hub bub. So, it’s just a matter of preference. The Monceau is also a small riad, so navigating the common areas is also very tight. Finally, the breakfast doesn’t offer as many options as a big hotel, and the coffee options were limited and not very good! Its close proximity to the Medina was a huge plus however. Overall, the Monceau was clean and charming, but as a matter of preference, I would rather stay in an actual hotel versus a riad in the future.

Location was good. Food in restaurant was good.
Cons: Room was extremely noisy from constant banging above our room. There was so much banging day and night we couldn't get any rest. We were moved to a different room for the first night. TV did not work There was a jacuzzi in the room but the water was cold. Manager said in order to get the water warm, staff would need to come to the room to turn on the heater and come back later to turn off heater. The only way to access the shower in this room was to climb along the 6 inch wide marble edge of the tub. Very dangerous with wet feet. On 2nd night we had to move back to original room. Had to deal with more noise and banging above us. TV did not work. Staff was in our room for two hours and finally fixed TV. . Pool is not available after 4 pm. During the day, there are so many tables/chairs next to pool that there's no way to get in. Walls in common areas were dirty. Beds very hard/uncomfortable. Overall, staff tried to be helpful. I asked for a refund. Manager refused Offered us free dinner instead. For almost $300 USD per night, I expect a peaceful place to stay and relax.

This Riad is in an amazing location and is a beautiful building. The staff were incredible and went above and beyond. Our only comment to future people that stay is that the music/noise doesn’t start to die down until 11:30. We really enjoyed music and the atmosphere most nights however there were times when we wanted a more peaceful night and this was not possible. However we do not feel that this is something to stop you going but just to be aware of prior to booking. We would happily recommend this to anyone that visits Marrakech.

The most amazing place that I have been to, especially given the cost. The service was top-notch... I wouldn't be surprised if they offered to drive us back to the States. The room was clean, the atmosphere was electric (but quiet when we needed to sleep), and the breakfast was amazing. Still... the service... it was on-par with 5 star hotels. I do not typically write reviews, but these guys deserve it. My only advice would be to find how to get there BEFORE going, as the Riads are a maze. Regardless, I cannot speak highly enough about Le Riad Monceau. We will be staying there if we find ourselves in Marrakech again.

I have just come back from a fabulous 3 night stay at Le Riad Monceau. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and the room was very comfortable. We also had a hammam and massage in the spa, which was absolutely AMAZING!!! One slightly negative thing to note, is if you want an early nights sleep this is not possible. The live music does not finish until 11pm, and then by the time everyone leaves it's almost midnight. Then the staff are cleaning and clearing away which is noisy and lasts until around 12:30-1am.

Great location close to the heart of the medina. Staff very friendly and helpful. They helped us book two very fun excursions, as well as a private car to Casablanca and everything went smoothly and was enjoyable. Breakfast is great - every day there is a special moroccan treat in addition to a very generous meal of pastries, fruit and eggs. Only caveats are that since there is a jazz bar and restaurants on the roof and in the courtyard, it is very noisy until about midnight. By noon they begin getting ready around the riad for the lunch and dinner crowd and start playing music over the speakers. So it is not a peaceful environment and only stay there if you won't mind that. Only other drawback was that the water pressure in the shower is very low - sometimes down to a trickle. But not sure if that is just this hotel or a problem for all hotels in the area.

The offers that the hotel offered were good value for money. We took the cooking course and the Hammam spa which were both excellent. The breakfast was excellent with a variety of moroccan delicacies each day.
Cons: We had an evening meal at the bistro which was a bit disappointing. There is also live music every night until 11, which wasn't unpleasant but it would have been good to know so if we wanted some peace we could have booked an outside facing room

Lovely property. Riad Monceau stands out for it's dining/bar options. People come from all around Marrakesh to enjoy jazz at Le Bistro Arabe and the rooftop bar, La Pergola. In fact, you should be aware the property is full of visiting patrons from the late afternoon through 11PM. The food at both options is great, as is the service. The location is also fairly central, just 5 minutes from the main square. The only warning I will make, is that it can get noisy in the evening and you can hear people moving about on the rooftop restaurant in your room. It's like living in an apartment with a noisy neighbor above you. Otherwise, we had a great time and would return.

Cute and nicely decorated Riad inside the Medina but NOT a 5*. It’s close to the main square and all the souks. Location is great if you don’t mind small alleyways. THINGS WE DON’T LIKE -no phones in the rooms which means you cannot call the front desk if you have an emergency or need anything. This is a big safety concern. I told the staff about the safety concern and she said no worries because there are never any emergencies. Really?!? -lock to the rooms are dead bolts which means you need a key to leave the room. My husband left with our only key and I was stuck in the room and they only give you 1 key. I couldn’t call front desk because no phone in the room -water pressure is very weak and hot water trickles. Hard to shower with cold water -had to track down staff to open up the breakfast area even though it was 30 minutes past the time breakfast was supposed to start We paid 5 star prices for a property that was not worth it. If safety is important to you, stay elsewhere!

Unfortunately my experience was not pleasant, firstly I emailed the hotel before arriving to confirm the airport transfer I paid for and never received a response, so I had to phone them in transit. After travelling 30 hours, I arrived to check in and was told by the young lady to take a seat, I sat there for 20 mins and asked her “what am I waiting for please” as I had a Xmas lunch to get to. She said, “your room is not ready, and I thought you were drinking your tea”, I said “no, I don’t like tea” - I then asked if I could freshen up somewhere as I had plans and was made to wait another 20 mins. The young girl was rude and abusing me and I repeatedly had to ask her to please leave me alone. The music from the jazz bar in the riad doesn’t finish until 11pm so good luck getting an early sleep after a long day of travelling!

The best part about the hotel was the service and the staff. They were extremely nice, accommodating and helpful. They gave us a room upgrade, brought us breakfast to the room because my daughter was feeling cold in the breakfast area, helped us with a doctor when my daughter was sick and overall were so warm and courteous that made our stay very pleasant. The riad is very beautiful and has live music in evenings. Very close to the main square as well. Great location. Minor nit: Breakfast area can get a little cold in winters

This Riad is a 3 start Riad claiming to be a 5 star. It's success is entirely dependent upon it's excellent staff otherwise everything is very basic. First of all we had to walk 20 minutes going in circles asking various people about it but we couldn't find it as everyone sent us in opposite direction and it's not easy to find really. Room: No Windows or exhaust in the bathroom so smells linger for ages and old smelly sewerage adding to this problem! Water stands in the tub because it's a handmade tub with uneven slopes so the poor functionality overrules deco. There is no bidet (5 Star?). Noisy room: Throughout our stay we had to make regular requests to reception to stop the furniture dragging going on above our room at the restaurant and then they would start again at midnight and very early morning! Overall noise insulation is poor, you could hear everything from outside so I am sure they heard us too! Breakfast: Continental breakfast really, not even eggs are included (you must pay extra - 5 Star!)

The services and amenities of this place were beyond our expectation for a last-minute reservation. The premises was elegantly decorated and well-maintained. The location of the property is extremely convenient in the medina and very accessible from the main streets. We were appreciative of the service that the riad provided - they had someone come out to meet us at the car and assisted with our luggage which was a street away from their entrance. The breakfast spread was phenomenal, and the daily jazz music was marvelous. We highly recommend this place for a romantic getaway.

You must stay at a Riad when in Marrakech and must stay here. I have travelled around the world and stayed at the fanciest 5 stars hotels however Le Riad Monceau comes straight out of the movies glamour! Nothing like it - ANYWHERE! It is truly the most magical place to stay when in Marrakech. The minute you walk into this Jazz Hotel you feel like you have walked into another world. With only 10 rooms here - you're lucky if you can book here! There are two incredible restaurants! Le Bistro Arab - exquisite restaurant surrounded by a pool and live Jazz with an ambiance that is like no other. You also have an extradorinaiy more casual restaurant on the second floor again filled with ambiance, lighting, outdoors, amazing food! Then there are 3 roof top private areas one floor higher giving you views of Marrakech! The Riad is 3 min walk to Jemma el Naff square so you are in the heart of all the action! The music stops at 11am so you can get a peaceful sleep after that time. Otherwise you have your own private concert from either the two restaurants or from your rooms! We tried 3 different rooms from standard to one of their jacuzzi suites...the jacuzzi suite is not your regular jacuzzi. The bath room and jacuzzi made you feel like you were a royal Arabian Prince or Princess. We never made it to their spa and haman but it looked amazing! The most important quality that we loved is that EVERYONE made you feel like family! From the top down! 5 STAR in every way! GLAMOUR! xo

A classy gem not far from the Djemaa El-Fna square. Two restaurants, one of which is a jazz club in the evening looking down on the small pool in the courtyard. Rooms were comfortable and well-decorated in Moroccan style with (thankfully!) air conditioning. Staff was very friendly and hospitable, and spoke English, French and Arabic. Food was delicious, and good drinks at the bar. Quirky bit of charm: the rooms are named, not numbered.

Our stay at Riad Monceau was amazing!!! The staff were all great! They have the absolute best rooftop in the Medina and I visited quite a few during my stay. If you enjoy good music and live bands, you will not be disappointed. The spa was the best as my husband and I received the Hammam body scrub/facial/massage. It was worth every second. The staff were also very accommodating to make space for me to do my workout exercises next to the jacuzzi on the roof and it was all private (I will tag you my workout video on IG). That said, I do not know when my husband and I will return to Marrakech but when we do, it will be here! Thank you all!!!! We sincerely miss all of the wonderful staff. Sincerely, Andria and Byron 😊

We wanted to stay in a Riad whilst in Marrakesh. We decided to stay at Riad Monceau from the amazing pictures and reviews. Airport pick up was arranged by Marc. Communication before our trip was excellent from Marc. Once we arranged we were greeted by amazing ,friendly, courteous and very helpful staff. Our room was perfect in every way ! It was kept clean by the lovely staff and decorated with lovely rose petals. We were given lovely mint tea and cold refreshments on arrival. During our stay everyone treated us as though we were the only people in the Riad; we felt very much welcomed and relaxed. We had the pleasure of 2 amazing restaurants located in the Riad; La Pergola and Le Bistro Arabe. Amazing food, drinks and the most amazing service from all the staff. We had the the hammam at the Riad; definitely recommend. We did the cooking class; the chef was amazing and we can both now make a delicious tangine, would definitely recommend. We would definitely recommend this Riad; located a few mins walk to Djemaa El Fna , the medina, Bahir Palace and Koutoubia Mosque. Thank you to everyone from making our stay so wonderful. Thanks to the amazing kitchen staff, waiting staff and reception staff ; Hosni, Ayoub,Abdep and Abbepkarim. Thank you, hope to see you all again soon Mr Mrs R Ramkumar

When we got back to the riad after our dinner, we were waiting outside knocking on the door and buzzing the ringer for 20 mins and no one opened the door. This was at 1230am local time and in a very dark area. It felt unsafe at that moment. We had to call the riad for them to come and open the door. The staff are unprofessional. The water for the shower barely has any pressure on it and took 10-15 mins to warm up. The wifi here is extremely slow, and the moment you do have internet it disconnects from the server every 30 mins which forces you to reconnnect. There’s bugs flying around in the room. Not enough towels for two people. The bed is extremely uncomfortable where you can feel the springs. I will not recommend this riad to anyone there are many other options. Please save your time and effort. We definitely wish we did. We’re a young couple and we have stayed at other riads and we only ask for the basics. This is not it.

The location is good. Room was nicely decorated with rose petals, very romantic. A fruit plate was provided in our rooms. Verry good and consistent breakfast. Some of the staff were really nice and helpful.
Cons: We asked if we can use the jacuzzi and on the first day they said they have an workshop and we can’t use it so we’ve booked it for the next day, the next day when we went to our appointment, they’ve told us that the jacuzzi is under construction, told them that we couldn’t use it in the previous day because of the workshop they had there and they said there was no workshop, so someone lied to us. The pool is opened only until 3PM. Because the Riad has 2 restaurants there’s a lot of noise and people walking around, not a relaxing riad vibe at all. In the room next to ours there we’re working men, refurbishing and drilling with the machine all day. So if you’re looking for a relaxing stay, don’t book here.

Amazing central location, beautiful bar & restaurant area, authentic Riad experience in the heart of the Médina

The hotel is above all nicely located nearby (200m) for the central square. It's a nice romantic place for couples, the restaurant is really excellent and the staff, particularly at the reception, very charming and friendly.
Cons: It must be said January can be a chilly time to travel to Marrakech. Hence, the junior suite we had was difficult to heat up. Our hosts tried so by a mobile heating, but it felt slightly humid. Little disadvantage as well if you take the junior suite. It's directly under the nice roof top bar. So if you don't join there for a cocktail, you might perceive this being slightly noisy. One point that nearly requires improvement is the breakfast. Please think of serving your guest a tin of coffee (not just one mug) and give it a bit more of variety (yogurt, grains etc.).

Hotel is lovely and the two restaurants are very popular with a nice night life and live music. Our room was very nice, ample with a big hydro-jacuzzi that felt like a hammam.
Cons: Several of the rooms face the inner court with live music happens between 8 and 11:30/midnight. It was very difficult to sleep as the music was very loud and then clean up took place.
