L'emplacement est idéal pour qui veut profiter des atouts touristiques du centre de marrakech, place Djema el Fna, souks, taxis... vue sympa sur la Koutoubia. Terrasse agréable, avec un superbe musicien de Oud en soirée, repas corrects. Personnel sympa et souriant. Les chambres donnant rue Fatma Zohra sont calmes.

Cons: l'ensemble est beldi... salle de bains minimaliste dans les équipements, se transformant en piscine aprÚs une douche, réglage de la chaleur de l'eau quasi absent, portes et placards ne fermant pas, coffre-fort ne fonctionnant pas. Pas de beurre au petit déjeuner...

Cons: Rooms not as shown in pictures, toilet slightly wobbly, wardrobe door hit bed couldn't fully open, had to climb over the corner of bed to get to opposite side, pillows way to thick you get neck vramp, room door lock when you locked it you could literally push it open from outside, breakfast was very minimal fried egg, or abit of patiserie. Orange juice and coffee was about the best thing on offer. Language barrier with breakfast staff. In the grand scheme we only booked one night to go to agafay, so for the price it was ok for a night but definitely wouldn't stay longer. Rooms need modernising.

Cons: Les chats sont omniprĂ©sents dans le restaurant, ce qui rend l’endroit tout simplement insalubre. Le petit-dĂ©jeuner est catastrophique : tout Ă©tait froid, ancien et clairement pas frais. Il est impossible de s’asseoir tranquillement : les chats sont partout, arrivent de toutes les directions. Franchement Ă©cƓurant. Pour accĂ©der aux chambres, il faut monter deux Ă©tages par les escaliers. Nous sommes arrivĂ©s Ă  14h, heure normale de check-in, et la chambre n’était pas prĂȘte. Personne ne nous a prĂ©venus : nous avons dĂ» monter les deux Ă©tages pour apprendre sur place qu’il fallait encore attendre 30 minutes.

J’ai passĂ© un excellent sĂ©jour Ă  l’HĂŽtel Islane Ă  Marrakech. L’emplacement est idĂ©al, juste Ă  cĂŽtĂ© des principaux sites de la mĂ©dina, ce qui rend les dĂ©placements trĂšs faciles. Le personnel est accueillant, professionnel et toujours prĂȘt Ă  aider. La chambre Ă©tait propre, confortable et bien entretenue, avec une belle vue. Le petit dĂ©jeuner Ă©tait excellent, variĂ© et de qualitĂ©. Le rapport qualitĂ©-prix est vraiment intĂ©ressant pour Marrakech. Je recommande vivement cet hĂŽtel Ă  toute personne souhaitant profiter pleinement de la ville dans un cadre agrĂ©able et convivial. Merci pour ce sĂ©jour, je reviendrai avec plaisir !

Les chambres, bien que de taille modeste, sont propres et confortables. À noter : privilĂ©gier les chambres rĂ©novĂ©es, plus agrĂ©ables, mĂȘme si des options non rĂ©novĂ©es, moins chĂšres, sont Ă©galement disponibles. Excellent rapport qualitĂ©-prix. Cons: Warmes Wasser hat sehr oft gefehlt. Den ganzen Tag draußen etwas unternehmen, schwitzen. Und am abend zurĂŒck im Zimmer sein.. und Ergebnis ist, kein warmes Wasser. Ein Tag spĂ€ter hat es funktioniert und am ĂŒbernĂ€chsten Tag gab es wieder Probleme. Beim FrĂŒhstĂŒck gab sehr wenig Auswahl. Abends beim Bar konnte ich am abend nie Kaffee mit Milch trinken, weil keine Milch da war. (Ein mal auch an einem Nachmittag). Und Sauberkeit mittelmĂ€ĂŸig aber ist in Ordnung

Cons: - pas de taies d'oreiller pendant 2 nuits - insonorisation inexistante (bruits de l'intĂ©rieur de l'hĂŽtel ainsi que de l'extĂ©rieur avec de la musique trĂšs forte jusqu'Ă  2h du matin) - salle de bain : pas de tapis de bain, douche ouverte sur les WC donc difficile de ne pas mouiller, pas vraiment d'eau chaude, chasse d'eau n'evacue pas grand chose (Ă©tant obligĂ© de s'aider du pommeau de douche!!). - Ă  notre arrivĂ©e, demande de paquet Petit-dĂ©jeuner pour un dĂ©part trĂšs tĂŽt et RIEN !! - Petit-dĂ©jeuner assez limitĂ© mais pour le prix de la chambre faut pas non plus s'attendre Ă  du luxe ! - avec la pluie, infiltration d'eau ⚠ dans les escaliers !! On Ă©tait dĂ©jĂ  venu il y a 17 ans et ça n'a pas vraiment changĂ©, dommage! Avec un emplacement comme celui-ci et une BONNE rĂ©novation de tout l'hĂŽtel (⚠ photos booking pas vraiment contractuelles) les visiteurs reviendraient... pour notre cas, c'Ă©tait la derniĂšre !

Horrible il vaut mieux prendre un taxi et un hÎtel plus loin vous serez rentable. Chambre : les coussins sont bien, et nettoyage tous les jours mais vous avez une salle de bain sortie des années 1930, tous est vieux et mal entretenu on etait obligé de fermer a la main les robinets tous les soirs sinon ca coule non stop Global : Trop de bruit cest ignoble, musique a fond toutes la soiree car c'est mal isolé on entend tous, les chambres donnés sur une arriÚre coures bidon ou des gens parlent toute la nuit. Vers le salon de massage le personnel ne fait que parler et c'est un vacarme constant car ils ne se disent pas qu'il y a des gens qui veulent dormir, étonnant la nuit dans un hÎtel ? Les portes sont trop haute de 5 cm donc la lumiÚre du couloir reste allumée toute la nuit alors pas besoin de veilleuse ! La chambre reste en mode protection contre le noir. Bref à fuir ! Prenez un hÎtel meilleur game mais moins cher car plus loin et la différence vous la payez la en taxi c'est mieux ! Je remercie le ciel d'avoir fait que 3 jours ici car non de dieu impossible de se reposer si ce sont toutes les vacances là.

Vier positive Punkte: Der Ausblick von der Dachterrasse auf das Atlasgebirge und die Koutoubia-Moschee, die zentrale Lage, die tĂ€gliche Reinigung der Zimmer und eine junge, sehr nette Bedienung, die einzige, die sich um die GĂ€ste gekĂŒmmert hat. Leider hatte sie nur Abends Dienst.

Cons: Aufenthalt MĂ€rz 2026 - Einzelzimmer Nr. 227 Hotel? Absteige trifft es genauer! Wie man 5 Sterne vergeben kann, ist mir rĂ€tselhaft. Klimaanlage, Fernseher und Tresor defekt. Mit freundlichem Nachdruck gebeten, dass Tresor gangbar gemacht wird. Der nicht in der Wand verankerte Tresor wurde einfach rausgehoben und durch einen anderen ersetzt. Auf die defekte Klima wurde nicht reagiert, nachdem ich eine Mail ans Hotel geschrieben habe wurde mir nach 3 Tagen ein anderes Zimmer angeboten. Der Hotelpage war ĂŒber 3 Dollar Trinkgeld fĂŒr das Tauschen nicht begeistert und wollte von mir seine ganzen DollarvorrĂ€te in Euro umgetauscht haben. Zum Zimmer: 2 kleine hohe Fenster, wo man nicht raussehen konnte und zum LĂŒften aufs Bett steigen musste. Das Badfenster ließ sich schon mal nicht schließen und stand stĂ€ndig offen. Wasser in der Dusche nicht mal lauwarm, am Waschbecken nur kalt, man konnte das Wasser nicht ewig laufen lassen, weil das Wasser nicht ablief. Die Dusche ca. 60x60 cm, daneben die Toilette, vor der Toilette mit nur einer handbreit Abstand gleich das Waschbecken, so dass man nicht gerade auf dem Klo, dass nur mit einer Schraube befestigt war, sitzen konnte. Dementsprechend war es jedesmal ein wackeliges GeschĂ€ft. Und ich bin nur 166 cm groß. Der Duschvorhang ging von Wand zu Wand, so dass das Klo beim Duschen stĂ€ndig komplett nass wurde und dann eben auch das sehr kleine Bad unter Wasser stand. Der Gestank im Bad war trotz des ewig geöffnetem Fenster unertrĂ€glich. Im Treppenhaus und im Flur Licht defekt, man musste mit Taschenlampe die TĂŒre aufsperren. Das Zimmer war verschimmelt, die Fußleisten abgerissen. Die Wand vom Kopfende des Bettes grenzte an die kleine KĂŒche der Dachterrasse, so dass man bis spĂ€t in die Nacht die GerĂ€usche vom Wasserhahn, Kaffeemaschine, Geschirrklappern hören konnte. Das Hotel war außerdem sehr hellhörig. FrĂŒhstĂŒck: keine Wurst, keine Butter, kein KĂ€se, nur eine Sorte StreichkĂ€se. Ab 9 Uhr kein Brot.

Lo mejor la ubicaciĂłn, es excelente, muy cerca de la plaza y de la medina. La habitaciĂłn es simple pero funcional. La terraza del restaurante estĂĄ bien y con vistas a la Koutoubia. El personal bien, en general atento, amable y correcto.

Cons: El bufet del desayuno se queda un poco corto, hay poca variedad. En la habitación falta un pequeño mueble-escritorio para dejar objetos, no hay señal de TV y el secador simplemente no tiene la instalación hecha, y hay termitas en las maderas del techo, pero nada grave.

Stayed last week. TV not available, but all else OK. Returned last night and had the most dreadful staff. 5 lied to me, 4 shouted at me. Seems like a dodgy arrangement at restaurant refusing to accept card and lying that machine broken. Was told hotel manager would be informed tomorrow, when she was actually sat in an office opposite. Was reduced to tears by 4 staff shouting at me in a language I don't understand, in front of restaurant customers. Manager initially offered to do anything, then did nothing. Room incredibly noisy, no TV to drown it out, so ended up with only 1 hour sleep last night.

Cons: As above. Staff lying and shouting at me in public, and manager doing nothing about it. Staff refusing to apologise, despite admitting lying and manager doing nothing to help. I am a seasoned traveller and this reduced me to tears!!

Solo la posizione. Buona perché la struttura Ú al centro ma Ú anche per questo motivo esposta ai rumori del traffico costante e della vita notturna (musica, gente che parla a altra voce, radio, claxon, ecc.)

Cons: Tutta la struttura: corridoi e e tratti di scale al buio, lavori in corso con sacchi di calcinacci per le scale, stanze umide, sporche, fori nei muri verso l'esterno, materassi macchiati, spazio doccia condiviso con il WC e assenza di pendenza dello scolo impedendo l'uso del WC dopo la doccia a causa del pavimento inondato, assenza di finestre dei bagni tranne in una che dava verso il corridoio dell'albergo e un'altra verso l'esterno, finestre con gli spifferi, stanze mal isolate sia acusticamente che termicamente, infissi decadenti. Ho dovuto cambiare 4 stanze in 5 notti! Avevo chiesto per tempo due stanze vicine avendo bambini piccoli e invece me ne hanno due stanze in diversi piani la notte dell'arrivo nonostante io avessi dato istruzioni chiare in merito.

Il y a juste la situation de positif dans cet Ă©tablissement

Cons: Je vous dĂ©conseilles cet Ă©tablissement. Les photos sont fausses. L’établissement tombe en ruine. SĂ©jours de 8 nuits changement 4 fois de chambre. Fuites, inondations, hĂŽtel dĂ©labrĂ©. Aucun me indemnisation ou proposition de dĂ©dommagement de l’hĂŽtel. MĂȘme quand nous avons annoncĂ© le stipulĂ© sur booking la rĂ©ponse a Ă©tĂ© : ça ne changera rien on sera tjrs sur booking . RĂ©veillĂ© en pleine nuit pas une fuite au plafond, fenĂȘtre dont la poignĂ©e reste dans les mains, portes qui ferme pas Ă  clĂ©s 
 j’en passe. Aujourd’hui nous avons demandĂ© un remboursement mais attendons tjrs un retour de booking qui traite la demande depuis 1 mois
 je crois que cela va durer l’attente. C’est inadmissible de proposer un Ă©tablissement comme celui la et pas assumĂ© les rĂ©clamations .

The location was very good, and the rooms a really good size, although quite basic. The heating in the rooms worked well, apart from in one of the rooms.

Cons: One room was really cold, and had a lot of pigeon noise on the flat roof above. The breakfast was poor, and on the terrace, which was very cold. The corridors were not very clean, and there was mould in one room (the cold room).

The staff at reception were really kind and helpful, they helped me book many activities even last minute and book a taxi as well. Overall, they had a very positive attitude and kind.

Cons: The staff at the restaurant were mean to me, My order has been ignored on multiple occasions, and one of the staff was passive aggressive to me for no reason. The breakfast was not good as it didn't have any source of protein and mainly just pastries and jam. It's hard to take a nap as the cleaning goes on for the entire morning and afternoon and the people were so loud and I couldn't sleep. On new year's eve I couldn't sleep as some people were having an argument in the hallway and woke me up at 4 in the morning. Overall the hotel is not really professional, you can't really say whether you want your room cleaned or not, on the second day I was surprised by a cleaner unlocking the door when I was taking a nap. On another day, I requested for my room to be cleaned but this never happened.

Super happy with staying at Hotel Islane! Perfect location, we booked it for our first night in Marrakesh. It was easy to find and really close to centrum. Also the staff was super helpful, helped us get a taxi and ask with taxi driver about the price. Breakfast view amazing! Also just by the door there is currency exchange. They'll help you call a taxi and negotiate the price (from the airport €20, to the airport €10 with them), they'll tell you where to buy souvenirs and eat, and they'll warn you about places to avoid, especially for women! The location of this hotel is excellent - close to the Djemaa El Fna square and within minutes of the airport bus-stop. It is a good budget hotel. OK, the TV control didn't work and a hot shower wasn't always a given, but my room was very nicely decorated, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was served on the terrace from which there was a very good view of the Koutoubia mosque. The breakfast was excellent and filling. The supervisor remembered my name, which was nice. Don't expect 5 star comfort because this is not a 5 star hotel, but it does well what it purports to do. The staff were very helpful and polite at all times. My air conditioning broke down at one point, but was fixed immediately.

Cons: Pity the TV didn't work. Why is there no plug for the bathroom sink? Just a little concerned about the security of the hotel at night.

The best thing about this hotel is the location and the beautiful view of the mosque from the breakfast terrace. The bed and bed linen were good and comfortable. Breakfast was basic — you can find something to eat, but nothing special. They do bake fresh bread, but oddly enough, they serve old, dried-out bread first thing in the morning.

Cons: There were quite a few issues, though. One side of the wardrobe couldn’t be opened because the bed was in the way, and the other side was useless since there were no hangers. The room had no table, no chairs, no mirror, no hairdryer. Water from the shower would spill into the room, and the bathroom door was practically useless — broken lock, large gap, and no real privacy. The front door lock was broken — even the cleaning staff struggled with it, but no one ever came to fix it. Staff were shouting loudly in the hallways during the day and even at night, which was really unacceptable! We also saw a cockroach in the corridor as we were leaving... On top of that, the TV didn’t work and there was no Wi-Fi signal in the room. Cleanliness was a serious issue. The bed was made, but no towels were left in the room — we had to go ask for them. When we checked in, the floor was dirty, and there were glass marks left on the sink.

Solo traveler in Room #236. I booked 5 nites total, on 3 separate reservations. Room was comfortable, bed quite large, hot water shower with very good pressure. Balcony to sit outside when weather allows. there’s evening outside noise & cacophony but that doesn’t bother me at all (as I’ve learned to tune it out). Breakfast is offered on the outdoor terrace & appears adequate but it could offer some fruit instead of so many bread choices. Room lighting is good. Staff excellent, friendly & accommodating. Very safe. Great location just outside The Medina. Room has a TV (which I didn’t watch at all).

Cons: There’s no functioning safe deposit box or mini-fridge in the room. Air con didn’t work at all. WiFi in bedroom is atrocious, best on terrace, in main lobby or anywhere else but in the bedroom. Also, beware of the wet tiled bathroom floor after showering: it’s slippery, so be extremely careful. The shampoo dispenser in the shower was ALWAYS empty, never filled. There is nowhere to place your luggage or bag to open it up, except on the bed or the floor. Needs a “DO NOT DISTURB” sign to hang outside the door. Also, on my last day at breakfast, I was hounded by one of the breakfast servers for a ”tip” (after he found out it was my check-out day: NOT COOL.

The location was good. You get a great view of the main mosque from the terrace.

Cons: We visited in early February and Marrakech gets quite cold in winter. Breakfast was served on the main open terrace and everything was freezing. There was a toaster were you could heat up toast but you had to put each items in 3 to 4 times before it became edible. The variety was limited and poor and orange juice came straight out of a powder mixture. When I complained to the staff they told me that they know the experience is bad but management just will not change anything. When I complained to the manager he said he will look into improving things but nothing changed during our stay. The room was very small and uncomfortable. The traffic noise was terrible. In hindsight I should have just changed hotels as this experience ruined my visit to Marrakech.

It was convenient to have a simple breakfast included, sitting on their restaurant's terrace staring at the palm trees, the mountains and the big mosque. Very nice. The room was spacious. The staff was attentive and friendly. I thought the location was great. Very close to one of the doors to the old town. So when you get exhausted from walking around the markets you can always go back to the hotel for a rest without needing a taxi. I stayed in the very last room at the end of a lengthy walk through several corridors. The walk included going up several flights of stairs and then later back down a flight of stairs. I thought that was humorous. I would say everything in the room was pretty well worn but functional. Nice bright light in the bathroom and a good hot shower. I stayed for four nights in January and was pretty happy with it.

Cons: I was greeted by a couple of tiny cockroaches running around my room. And then a more normal size cockroach a day later. I wasn't too bothered by it. I checked under the mattress and under the bed for signs of bed bugs and couldn't find anything. But under the bed was filthy with dust and debris. I left the bed pulled out from the wall and when I came back later in the day everything was back in its place and they had cleaned under the bed. The cleaning staff really seemed to be hardworking. The place was a little noisy in the evening. The long hard corridors really echo people talking and shutting doors in the hallway. And I think there's a nightclub behind the hotel that will lull you to sleep with a good house music rhythm. The lighting in the room was odd. You might describe it as romantic. It was pretty bright in the daylight but if you drop a coin on the floor in the evening, you're probably going to need a flashlight to find it.

Location is perfect, near to everything touristic in Marrakesh. View from terrace is great. Breakfast is acceptable, with bread, ham and coffee. 24 hour reception. You can exchange money to dirhams on the hotel. You can leave you luggage after check out.

Cons: Expensive for what it offers (55 euros a night). No kitchen if you are looking for one. Cleaning lady tried to enter into our room before check out time. They were repairing some of the rooms, so it was noisy in the morning and afternoon. Wifi does not work well. When having a shower, the water flooded the room.

The Location of this hotel is the main reason for staying as it is 2 minute walk to the main square Jemaa el-Fnaa. The restaurant was perfect and had a wonderful view of the mosque opposite. breakfast is also provided with the room and set us up for the day, staff were very attentive and friendly. I would defiantly recommend this hotel for its location and value for money. The Food in the restaurant was very tasty, we ordered a tagine on our first night and I can say it was very good, when compared to the all of the tagines consumed during our two week stay in multiple cities all over morocco.

The only real reason to stay at the Islane is its location - probably the best in Marrakech. Near everything, easy to find, easily reachable by public transport and just a short walk from the Djemma el Fna, whilst being separate from it. There's a lovely roof terrace for breakfast or a lazy pot of tea in the afternoon, although you pay for the view, of course. They try to make the rooms attractive with colourful ceramics and bedspreads but the truth is they're pretty run down.

Cons: It's overpriced for what it is. I know this, yet I still stay here time after time for the location and 'better the devil you know'. It's never been great, but it doesn't get much worse. Except this time my toilet seat was loose, I had only hand towels and the air conditioning wasn't working (there wasn't even a control for it). Usually that wouldn't matter as the windows open. But there was a loud concert on the square until 1am so my choice was to be deafened or roasted. Breakfast is average. Made up for by the view!

The Hotel location was super ideal to get around all Marrakech Old Medina, ❀ Koutobia Mosque was a close by the unit window, also Place Jamaa El Fena was right at the corner within a very short walking distance ! Stuff was welcoming & friendly at all request or needs👍 I will definitely give this place another visit whenever I can, & also recommend to other people !

Cons: The breakfast menu was quite good & delicious ! With local food served as an open (buffet, or table) ! But not as much diverse when compared to other well known hotels around the town ! Another down side 👎 point is the Hotel wifi was not much stronger & most of the time wasn't stable to cover All the units ! Mine was the case ! Otherwise everything was OK 👍

Cons: I had made a reservation to the Atlas Mountains through Bokking.com, Viator, online. The excursion was canceled at the last moment. There were no other tours, except for a private tour that cost 700 dirhams. It was my last day in Marrakech. Booked the trip. After a while the driver said it will cost 1000 dirhams. After the tour we came back to the hotel where the tour salesman is, in the hotel lobby, behind a small desk with a computer. He explained that Online booking is not to be trusted. You should book through a local seller, preferably through him. He had never heard of Bokking.com or Viator. I have always booked online, this trip 6 bookings online. The company in the lobby is called Islan Sports and Travels. Cannot be recommended. A suspicious seller.

It was located in the centre of the city where I was being collected and dropped off from an excursion so convenient. Staff were welcoming on arrival.

Cons: The room did not reflect the photos. Very dated. The shower consisted of a curtain that pulled across half the bathroom which meant floor and toilet got wet. No tiles on wall so plaster looked water tired. The electrics were dodgy 
 light didn’t work in bathroom and socket in bedroom was loose so unable to use. The worst part of the stay was the noise. Loud music playing until the early hours of the morning plus the hotel is all stone (no soft furnishings to deaden noise) so there was a constant noise of people talking in the corridor.

Excellent location. The hotel is just across from Quotibian and is less than 5 minutes walking distance from Jemaa el-Fnaa. Being inside Medina, although a little farther, you can still walk to Bahia Palace, if you are up to that extra stretch. The staff at both dining hall and reception were very friendly and always around. The dining are though the floors, tables etc. could be better was very well situated in an open terrace and very nice view to Qutobian.

Cons: The first room smelt bad like cigarette smoke. They allowed me to switch room. However, that room turned out to be even worse. When I opened the bathroom, the stench was unbearable. It was raining outside and did not have the energy to cancel reservation and move to a different hotel. The beds were clean and they room service cleaned up pretty well everyday. There was a closet kind of structure in the corner. The end of the bed was few inches from the structure corner. The only plug point on the other side. To get to that I had squeeze my way through the few inches of space.

The location was absolutely amazing, if you want to be in the centre of old Marrakesh by the infamous day & Night market, this is truly the place to be. The manager Loubna was very friendly and went the further mile to ensure our stay was of our expectations. She truly is a great manager.

I often stay here because of the perfect location, close to everything and easy to find/get transport to and from. It's a good basic choice and the terrace is nice for breakfast or a coffee.

Cons: It's overpriced for what it is, and not everything is well maintained: the shower water doesn't drain, the soap dispenser doesn't work properly, the toilet sometimes doesn't flush, that kind of thing. The breakfast staff was pestering for tips, even though he'd done nothing besides laying down some stale bread (the breakfast is unremarkable to say the least) which was pretty annoying.

(We heard everything what was happening in restaurant - it started at 6 in the morning!! and late night washing in the floor above us). We came for vacation and didn’t get enough sleep. Not very pleasant experience does not deserve 3 stars. Hotel doesn’t have parking, but on booking says it does. We asked for directions and they talked to us like we know the town and when we tried to explain he already talked to another guests and ignore us.

The hotel is basic, and desperately needs a bit of TLC. The noise in the corridors is totally excessive, banging doors (have they ever heard of a soft close door) the locks dont always work, keys with massive metal accessories on them meaning they bang against the lock, staff and guests shouting in the corridors, music from the bar underneath blaring till 2am. The floors are marble so any noise echo's all over and staff dont even attempt to keep the noise down, they also leave master keys on the floor and dirty washing in the corridors. The staff in the restaurant are lovely, and the breakfast is great (basic but plentiful). The location is excellent . this hotel could be excellent but frankly right now its terrible.

the location. on a busy road but over looking the gardens and mosque so felt safe arriving late at night. lovely views from the roof terrace. very comfortable beds.

Cons: felt like it was fantastic in its hey day but rather tired now. the pictures seem to show it at its best rather than as it is now. we didn’t see the hammam open at all. it was next to our room. the music from the terrace carried down through the internal courtyard into our room and the hard surfaces of the corridors meant a lot of noise could be heard. not so much a problem for me as I have hearing issues but my husband didn’t sleep well with the noises.

Excellent location, staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Bed very comfortable- I would stay there again. WiFi free.

Cons: In our room, the hot water in the shower was activated when the hot water tap in the sink was turned on. Not a big inconvenience, just something to be aware of. The location etc more than made up for this.

The location is great - so close to Djema el fna and opposite the Koutoubia Mosque. Good breakfast, staff were very helpful and overall good value for money. Our room had air con which was great.

Cons: Hotel is a wee bit tired and there are no communal sitting or outside areas.

Cons: Lock on entry door was not good, had to have help by piccolo to open. AC did not work. Television did not work. No towels in room. Couldn't get until 9 pm in reception. Floor in room dirty. Safe in room had no battery, so could not use. Windows in room was high up and Couldn't see out. Very claustrophobic... like prison

Great location near the Koutoubia Mosque and only a short walk to the main square. Very good air conditioning.

Cons: Television was one of the smallest I've ever seen and there was only one station, in Arabic only. Nothing in English. I was locked out or trapped in my room and couldn't get out as there was something wrong with the lock. Shower was very slow to drain.

Cons: No garbage bin in room. The washroom door lock was broken. the breakfast was bland with little to no choices. The female staff member we had the opportunity to speak with a couple of times seemed to provide incorrect information for anything that we asked.

Location - great. Breakfast - excellent. Room - ok. The hotel has a charming roof terrace overlooking the Koutoubia mosque. Lunch there was fine and it was a nice place to have a glass of wine and watch the world go by. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Easy walk to the centre of the Plaza Jemaa Al Fna - a couple of minutes.

Cons: Would have liked a balcony or at least a nice view, but window opened onto an inner courtyard.

I'm quite happy with my choice - the main positive is the location, easy to find which is rare in the city! Breakfast was good on the terrace with a view. Wifi was good, staff were friendly. I booked online with a good price.

The Hotel Islane entrance has a lobby where you can book excursions - stay away! My friend and I booked the €20 Ourika day tour where we were told we would be able to explore the waterfalls. There were 3 stops along the way where we were just forced to go into tourist shops and pressured to buy goods. At one stop we asked if we could go across the road to take photos of the view and the tour guide said ‘no, the stop here is this shop’ which we found very rude and inflexible as we would literally just be across the road. The ‘exploration of the waterfalls’ was also a medium difficulty hike )which you cannot and should not do unguided), that included climbing ropes. No one on our tour was warned about this, and although the guide (a different person to the driver) was very very helpful with making us feel more comfortable, it was still a very unnerving hike given the steep cliff drops that was a 3 hour round trip. By this point it was 3pm and many in the group had not had any food since the morning. We were then made to eat lunch at a restaurant which was rammed with all the day tourists, and served very average food. On the way back we were told we would arrive back in Marrakesh at 5pm, but the driver decided to inefficiently detour to all the resorts outside of central Marrakesh (even though we were very close to the city) so we didn’t arrive until 6:30pm. The driver didn’t even drop us off at a safe spot and was rushing myself and my friend out of the car saying they police are near’. Overall this was a very disappointing experience and we would definitely not book again.

We stayed here for 4 nights, after seeing some of the reviews on here & taking into account the low price, I wasn’t expecting much, however, we were pleasantly surprised, yes, the room was basic, but it was clean. Cleaners come in daily to change the bedding and towels. We were told that the free WiFi only worked on the “terrasse” however, our room was close enough that we could easily access the WiFi from bed! The location is perfect, just a couple of minutes walk to the main square of Jemaa el-Fnaa and overlooking Koutoubia Mosque. The staff were really friendly and helpful, especially the manager of the Islane Activities & Excursions which is based in the lobby, we had pre-booked our trip with another company before leaving the UK, they were a little late collecting us and the manager from Islane excursions rang them for us to see what was happening, on our final day, our pre-booked transfer to the airport was also late, again, Islane activities saw us waiting and rang our transfer company to find out where they were! I want to go back to Marrakech at some point as there is so much more to see, I’ll definitely stay at Hotel Islane on my return & will be using Islane Activities for any trips I want to take.
