It was a surprise trip from my wife. Working in the industry i am very picky with my hotels and she could not have booked a better place. Sofitel has amazing service from the moment you walk in and great grounds. We did have a hiccup with the room next door to us being redecorated so noise disturbance was an issue. I raised this with Nabila (guest experience manager) and she was very attentive, understanding and helpful. Already cannot wait for our return trip as this place will be our go to from Marrakech.

We were really looking forward to our stay at Sofitel Marrakech, but sadly we left feeling very disappointed. The service throughout our stay was consistently poor. Check-in was extremely slow and we had to ask multiple times before our room was finally ready. Food and drink orders were just as frustrating — we waited 25 minutes for a bottle of water and 40 minutes for a bowl of ice cream. Almost everything required chasing, and even our “Do Not Disturb” signs were ignored. Staff often seemed inattentive, slow, and lacking any real urgency. When we shared our concerns with a manager at the end, his response was simply “sorry about that,” with no sincerity at all. One of the biggest concerns was a safety issue: another guest was given our room number just by saying our names and asking which room we were in. This felt extremely unsafe and unacceptable. Breakfast was another low point. The whole area was chaotic, overstimulating, and disorganised. We were offered tea/coffee and orange juice when we sat down, but despite reminding five different staff members, nothing ever arrived. In the end we had to go up to the counter to get it ourselves — and looking around, the tables next to us seemed to be having the exact same experience, also waiting and repeatedly asking different servers. Another disappointment was that the only heated pool required an extra €40 per person, per day to use unless you are a ‘Diamond member’, which felt unreasonable considering the overall cost of the stay. On the positive side, the hotel grounds themselves are lovely, very clean, and the spa was amazing - but unfortunately the service and overall experience just didn't match the standard we expected for a 5 star hotel. Thank you to Khadija and Sena for taking great care of us in the spa and Ilham for being one of the only members of staff that made us feel welcome and comfortable.

We came on a family holiday to Sofitel Marrakech Palais Imperial to celebrate both my parents anniversary and my brother's birthday. This trip surpassed all our expectations. It was a beautiful hotel in an amazing city with the staff going above and beyond in their hospitality and warmth. We had dinner on our final night at L'Orangerie restaurant and the food and atmosphere was fantastic. The live band was an unexpected but much loved addition to the night. The staff at L'Orangerie really made the night unforgettable and they went above and beyond to help make my brother's birthday a great night. A special mention and thank you to Hali Hicham, Soufiane, Oumayma and Keber for their kindness and care. A big thank you also to Chinwi who made and presented the most amazing cake whilst the band and staff sang happy birthday! We are definitely coming back again to Sofitel Marrakech Palais Imperial in the future following the amazing experience we had.

We rented a suite for one week and were disappointed by room number 274. After some hassles we finally got a nicer room (256). Breakfast buffet and dinner even in half board is just fantastic. Employees were just very keen to us. But just too bad that the ambient noise created by the road and the airport is according to my specifications to high.

Everything at Sofitel is perfection. My only regret is that I didn’t stay a few more days. Breakfast is a show stopper with their croissant selection - so many incredible options! Room service was fast and delicious. And the poolside service is so good!! The location is a short walk from local shops & lots to do, but you really could stay at Sofitel the whole time. Iwachtan was an incredible host and went above and beyond to take care of me and my group every morning for breakfast! Highly recommend the Hammam and Massage - so incredible and relaxing!

I received amazing service during my stay at the hotel, and I want to highlight how wonderful all the staff were — friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. One team member in particular, Kina, truly stood out. He approached me with excellent manners, was incredibly helpful, and even took the time to clean our glasses. His professionalism and attention to detail made a real difference. Thank you to Kina and the entire team for such outstanding service!

I spent three nights at this hotel; before I arrived I requested a room with a double bed and far away from Nobu due to the noise from their rooftop bar. My room overlooked Nobu and the bed was made up as a twin; they rectified the bed however it was very soft. I only mentioned the noise from Nobu on the last night but they offered to change it but I didn’t want the palaver to change rooms. There was no shower caps and various other accoutrements which had to be requested constantly. Breakfast was excellent although on the second and third days you had to ask for coffee and orange juice three-four times before getting it, likewise replacement cutlery. Hammam and massage were very good. Water by the pool was 80 dirhams a bottle (you can see why you are forbidden to bring in food and drink into the hotel). I am unlikely to return as the hotel is very big, and the service is too patchy and sloppy for a 5* hotel. The majority of staff were excellent and the pool area was lovely but there are many other options in Marrakech at a similar price point and I would look at them first

Sakina was my massage therapist and did a wonderful job with the right amount of pressure and gave a wonderful massage. The steam room-sauna was very nice, as was the indoor heated pool to relax in before my treatment. If you are staying at the Sofitel in Marrakech, I would highly recommend asking for Sakina to work your stress away!

This is a great hotel. Very friendly and slick check in and parking, generous and luxurious room and huge pool area with large heated pool. Food was not quite there. Breakfast limited western selection and dinner also a little hit and miss. Big issue is rooms to the southern end of the hotel suffer badly from noise from the nearby nobu rooftop bar (which is actually very good, we went) but music continues till 2am and will require you to wear ear plugs to sleep! We stayed room 101 suggest you request at check in not to stay this end of the hotel.

First suite was a rip off (half storage room without windows in living area) let me pay extra for suitable room. No detal kit, no coffee refill, shower first day didn’t got hot, from second only hot, mediocre Cocktails at the bar, no fridge/minibar at the room, took me 3 attempts to reach someone at the "guest Service Hotline", hard to get service at the pool at all, almost missed my flight because they did a booking error on check in/out, a then on top intrusively pulled my luggage out of the taxi. Still no invoice received and credit card double charged. What more to say. Nightmare Hotel On top as "would have been nice": I arrived at 8 am due to an early flight. While respecting 3pm checkin, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE showing some effort to make it earlier possible. But that feeling just continued until the very last minute and whole guest experience was at best mediocre. After 4 Attempts to get an invoice from the service they make you send another email to a someone to issue the invoice. I mean seriously. Whats wrong with their interpretation of 5 star service. I am not your their secretary.

Beautiful hotel, Breakfast is amazing and pool is clean, bright and very relaxing. I booked a spa treatment and had Asma. Highly recommend the Hammam. Asma was excellent start to finish. 5 stars for the hammam with Asma. Only downside was the food in So lounge. Very disappointing. We had the noodles and duck. Both were average at best.

Good central location, close to a lot of restaurants. Nice family friendly atmosphere. Poor service. From check in to room service and breakfast staff. Check in was awkward when the staff member (Hossam) asked us to give him passports, left them on the desk and walked off. Then spent 15 minutes looking at them, typing on the computer with no communication at all during this process. Then when we were checked in, did not really explain what was available / what times etc. I advised the hotel that it was my wife's birthday, there was nothing in the room, no card, flowers, chocs (which is minimum you expect). When I asked staff about this on the phone (again Hossam) they put the phone down on me. One staff member at breakfast asked me to wait while he was serving other guests, when I questioned him as I had been waiting over 10 minutes he went on to mutter something in French to his colleagues, Looking at me in disgrace. I understand in Morocco they speak French and Arabic but in an international hotel you expect them to cater for all languages especially English. I would avoid this place unless you speak Arabic or French. If you expect service to be 5 star avoid this place. The rooms / swimming pool / hotel it self is very nice but it's the attentiveness of the staff that make the holiday. I just felt that I got a second rate service as I could only speak English

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our stay at the Sofitel Marrakech was absolutely exceptional. The hotel itself was spotless — beautifully maintained throughout with immaculate rooms and lush, peaceful surroundings. The breakfast was simply out of this world — easily the best we have ever experienced anywhere. The variety, presentation, and quality were outstanding, from fresh local produce to international favourites, all served with a touch of luxury. A special mention must go to Said at Concierge, whose attention to detail and genuine care made our stay truly memorable. He went above and beyond to look after us and ensure everything was perfect from start to finish. We can’t recommend the Sofitel Marrakech highly enough — it’s an oasis of comfort, elegance, and first-class service.

Another fabulous week at this lovely hotel. We last visited over 12 years ago and were delighted to be welcomed back and see some familiar faces. It was lovely to see Abedellah, after all these years, and of course our amazing Consierge Reda. Reda was delighted to see us again and helped us immensely, recommending some great new restaurants and gently steering us away from others. The recommendations of Safran by Koya and Le Tanjia are excellent. We absolutely loved La Tanjia and would heartily recommend it. Reda seems to know exactly what we would like. Impeccable service. By the pool, we met Assas, who looked after us, for our stay. Very helpful, attentive. Nothing too much trouble and served with a smile. A credit to the hotel. Sorry to be leaving. We will definitely be back soon.

Very occasional contributor and my first ever “terrible” review which makes me a little sad. The issue itself was fairly minor, but other travellers may wish to note water is not allowed to be brought into the hotel under any circumstances*; it’s obviously very warm, c.40 degrees, here at the moment. Whilst I thought that possibly lacked a little bit of pragmatism, the bad experience was the approach to the conversation. My first experience of really poor customer service; it’s hard not being listened to - I did my best in both English and French. So there we go. One to think about and hopefully gives others a little bit of insight. *the irony being I was allowed last time I was here earlier in the years and then on this occasion, they subsequently let me bring two bottles up to the room!!

Sofitel Marrakech, stay 30 Aug–02 Sept 2025. After midnight on 02/09, our room phone rang five times. Then a male staff member shouted down the line, alleging my partner picked up a banknote and saying my credit card would be charged. My two young children woke distressed. This was aggressive, unprofessional and threatening; charging without consent is unacceptable. Earlier problems included a forced room move with long delays, feather bedding left despite allergy requests, and being served meat, then a replacement containing olive oil, causing a reaction. Basic amenities were missing too. Overall, far from five-star. Management: train staff, follow allergy protocols, and stop late-night harassment. Please address urgently.

Outstanding Service & A Truly Memorable Stay From the moment we arrived at Sofitel Marrakesh, we were made to feel like truly special guests. The hotel itself is stunning – elegant interiors, beautiful gardens, excellent amenities, and a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. Ouiam, who will make your stay extra special. What really stood out for us was the outstanding customer service. A very special thank you goes to Ouiam, who went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect during our stay. She took exceptional care of us, making sure all details were in place, helping us plan day trips, offering great advice, and treating us with such warmth and professionalism. She made our experience unforgettable. The entire team was friendly, pleasant, and always willing to help. The hotel offers great value for money, with excellent facilities, delicious dining, and a location that makes exploring Marrakesh very easy. We cannot recommend Sofitel Marrakesh highly enough. If you are considering a stay in Marrakesh, this is the place to be – and be sure to ask for Ouiam, who will make your stay extra special.

This place is really awesome. You have to go there to fill the atmosphere of this magic hotel and Marrakesch. We became a great room from Duty Manager an this time and I was really happy because of the view to the pool and Beautifull mountains. The breakfast was good but could be better for sure. The location is perfect! You have also many great bars and restaurants in walk distance.

I recently stayed at this hotel with my family, and I honestly can’t recommend it enough. As an ex-hotelier, I’ll admit I can be quite picky when it comes to service and details—but this stay completely blew me away. From start to finish, every team member went above and beyond to make our time here feel truly indulgent. The restaurant team is simply exceptional. Mustafa, Fatiha, Jamil at the juice bar, the lovely lady supervisor, the gentlemen preparing the Moroccan donuts, and the wonderful Reda at the egg station (don’t forget to ask him to sing for you!)—every single one of them made us feel so warmly welcomed. The breakfast buffet was a feast, offering everything we could possibly imagine. The Moroccan breakfast options, in particular, were endless and authentically delicious. Adil at the concierge deserves a special mention—exceptionally helpful in booking a tour for us, offering genuine advice, helping print important documents, and always greeting us with kindness. The pools were fantastic, with plenty of space to relax. Our room was bright, fresh, and made extra special with welcome amenities on two separate nights. Thank you, Sofitel. You’ve set the bar incredibly high—and you’ve officially become our go-to destination in Marrakech.

Overall, the staff at Sofitel are incredible. They go out of their way to get to know you and make sure you are enjoying yourself from the moment you enter the lobby area. The day begins with brunch. Farah, Karim, Khalid, and Mustafa are just a few of the people who greet you with a smile and make sure you have a table and meal as you like it. The experiences at the pools were special, too. The staff is exceptional here and working in the hot sun did not prevent them from keeping us comfortable. Wassif and Abaayous (sp?) will provide you with water, towels, drinks, and snacks. Tip them well as they work hard! The dinner dining experience at the hotel's restaurant is lovely. I enjoyed sitting on the patio and listening to the band, a very talented group having the perfect set of songs while dining. The food is delicious and offers both Moroccan and French menus. The staff Wiaam, Kebir, and Hicham were always friendly and attentive to our needs. And Hanane made an effort to remember exactly how I like my salad and make sure the chef prepared it my way! Other people at the hotel who frequently approached us to have casual conversation are Ilham and Chaimae. Thank you so much! We will be back!

Beautiful property, great location, safe neighbourhood. Lovely rooms. Meal at SO Lounge was delicious. Didn’t feel the same with lunch by the pool or the breakfast. In terms of service, it always felt as if what we asked for was a bother - I asked for a clarification since I had booked a room that included breakfast (had the email to confirm), they said it wasn’t included and that they would connect with the reservations team to determine the problem. Never heard from anyone with any clarification.

I recently stayed at the Sofitel and was impressed by the beautiful surroundings — the hotel is clean, stylish, and well-maintained, with lovely interiors that create a luxurious atmosphere. However, the service didn’t match the setting. While there were plenty of staff around, there seemed to be a lack of communication between them. Requests were often delayed or forgotten, and it felt like no one really knew what was going on. The service was noticeably slow throughout the stay, which took away from the overall experience. A stunning hotel with great potential, but the management and coordination behind the scenes need serious improvement.

We’ve returned once again to Sofitel Marrakech Palais Imperial, and it truly feels like coming home. From the moment we arrived, the service has been outstanding. The reception team, front of house, servers, and housekeeping staff have all been incredibly kind, professional, and attentive. A heartfelt thank you to Taoufik, Hakim, Taha, and the rest of the wonderful team — your warmth and hospitality never go unnoticed. You make every stay feel special. A special mention to the breakfast team, who brighten every morning with genuine smiles and impeccable service. From the servers to the front-of-house hosts and of course, the singing chef — thank you for starting our day with joy and delicious food. It’s those small touches that truly make a difference. The hotel itself remains just as beautiful — stunning interiors, lush gardens, and a peaceful yet central location.

Poor check-in experience and I was actually asked to exit the pool aggressively because I was wearing a shirt. The individual I was dealing with just kept saying it was forbidden and when I asked why, he simply said it’s forbidden that’s all you need to know. Once I talked to our actual server (who was apologizing profusely on behalf of the other gentleman), and I explained to him that it was to keep the sun off of me and was a quick-dry water shirt, he went “oh” and talked to his manager who then agreed to let me in the pool with my shirt on. English is definitely a barrier and the whole experience was certainly off-putting and slightly embarrassing with everyone around and witnessing the entire ordeal, especially for this caliber of hotel. They also went after a couple of other individuals for various issues while I was there as well. Rooms were great but I might choose another hotel next time I’m looking for a place to stay nearby.

My wife visited with friends in an imperial suite as Accor Platinum members. First let’s look at the positives. A lovely venue and great location, 10 mins from the airport and a 10 minute walk to both old and new towns. Can’t be beaten on that front. Breakfast was a superb spread, well worth the inclusion if in doubt. However staff were a little organised. Lotts and lots of staff, but disorganised. 4 separate members asking what drinks required, but none delivered! On the staff front, an abundance of staff throughout the hotel, never had to open a door! Now the not so good! Whilst at breakfast two of the four guests had money stolen from the room. A couple of notes stolen from handbags. Yes money should be in the safe but it’s still theft and spoils the impression of the hotel and the majority of the hard working staff. Reported to reception who promised a full a thorough investigation and they would report back. Disappointingly management didn’t even have the courtesy of contacting our party with their findings. Prior to checkout we had to enquire and the response was ‘we’ve looked into it and didn’t find anything’ Disappointing and lack of service to even follow up. Additionally, bear in mind we hand a suite with a dining room. We were stopped from bringing into the hotel a few sweet snacks purchased from the old town square. Security stopped and challenged - NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR BEVERAGE PERMITTED. This policy is ridiculous and over zealous. We wanted a snack to enjoy with coffee on our balcony, not to cook a three course meal in the suite! You cannot rent a suite to guests for 1000’s of euros and then dictate what can be brought in. I’m sure the copy and paste response from ‘management’ to this review will state some rubbish about health and safety regarding the food policy. Funny how every other property in the Accor portfolio seem to survive allowing it? Crazy. So overall 3/5. A lovely property and location, spoilt by petty theft and strict food policy.

I am outraged by the blatant racial discrimination my wife and I experienced at Sofitel Marrakech during our stay in March. As seasoned travelers, we have never encountered such deliberate bias and dismissiveness at a hotel, and I feel compelled to warn others about the unacceptable treatment we endured. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that we were not a priority. The staff, despite being idle and available, made us wait for 30 minutes before even acknowledging our check-in. Meanwhile, a group of French white guests, who arrived after us, were immediately assisted and given rooms. To make matters worse, we were forced to wait until 3:00 PM before receiving a room, even though others were checked in well before us without delay. I understand that standard check-in time is 3 PM, but at this hotel, the color of your skin and the language you speak seem to dictate how you’re treated. While we waited, the hotel staff offered tea to all the French-speaking white guests but completely ignored us. When we requested tea, they brushed us off, saying they would bring it soon. Fifteen minutes passed, and still nothing. We had to ask a second time before they begrudgingly served us. The staff member assisting us, Nabila, wore a forced, insincere smile but made it painfully obvious through her demeanor and body language that she had no genuine interest in helping us. When we inquired about whether restaurants and hotels would be serving meals during Ramadan, her response was both arrogant and offensive. She dismissively said, “I don’t know, these people have various unplanned timings, and I wouldn’t know because I’m French.” The condescension in her tone was undeniable—as if being French made her superior or excused her from knowing basic information about the country where she works. Our frustration only grew when we escalated our concerns to management. The first manager promised to investigate, yet during our entire four-day stay, no one followed up. On the day of our checkout, we spoke to another manager, only to be met with a shockingly inappropriate and offensive remark. Instead of addressing our concerns, he stared at my wife’s diamond ring and remarked, “Oh, I’m surprised you had such an experience. Given the size of your diamond ring, you should have been treated very nicely at all restaurants and hotels here.” This was not just poor service—this was systemic racism and classism on full display. The staff at Sofitel Marrakech made it abundantly clear that they prioritize white, French-speaking guests over others. Their attitude toward non-white, non-French travelers is disgraceful, and their lack of professionalism is appalling. I strongly urge anyone who values respect, fairness, and dignity to avoid this hotel at all costs. There are many other establishments where hospitality is extended to all guests—regardless of skin color or nationality. And of course, if you are a white French person, by all means, stay here. They will treat you like royalty. Based on our experience, I can only assume most of these glowing reviews come from French travelers who never had to face the discrimination we did.

You need to be careful about their charges. My room was paid in advance via Expedia. I had to pay only local tax. They took the credit card info as a hold and one day after I see that they have charged the whole amount t again via my credit card. Fortunately I was coming back to Marrakech again and complained and they reversed the charge. If I left the country I’m sure it would have been a headache to get a refund. Please make sure that they do not double charge you. Other than that the service was good.

At check-out bill was padded with extra charges for mini bar which I did not use. This has happened to me before in Morocco. Check your bill. Service in night club was extremely slow, almost non-existent. Music was so loud you had to write to order anything. Conversation was impossible. I was granted access to the smaller heated pool, which I appreciated, but was told access was normally limited to members of a special club. Considering what I paid, access to the pool, should not have been restricted. The larger pool was much less interesting.

The hotel was well positioned and had a lovely garden and pool area. We had a junior suite which was very comfortable with balcony and good view. For a hotel of its status and daily charges, we were however, very disappointed with the limited restaurant choices. The pool bar/ restaurant was fine but the dinner options were very limited. We also did not like the digital menus which were difficult to load and use. We arrived from the airport at around 10.30am on the 5th October but were not able to access our room until 3pm. There was no apology offered or any attempt made to make us feel at home. I consider that this attitude was not in keeping with the perceived services offered by a 5 star hotel. The restaurant and bar service on the other hand was generally very good. In summary if asked, I could not recommend the hotel to any of my friends and would not choose to stay there again if I returned to Marrakech.

LIKED: super friendly staff and helpful, location is great, beautiful grounds DISLIKED: Not allowed to bring in outside food. One of us is Gluten Free and kids are picky eaters so options are limited at the hotel. I understand not having outside food in the lobby or grounds but in the privacy of your own room? For a 5 star resort this was very strange and we have stayed at several accor properties and are accor members. This is the first time we experinced this. If you are ok with only eating at the hotel then this place is amazing. If you like freedom to choose I would select else where.

The pool and breakfast are excellent. The staff are all very welcoming but the service can be a little poor on occasions. I felt disappointed to have to pay for all still water provided and would expect a five star to include at least one or two bottles around the pool. Location is great and it’s easy for taxis or to walk. If you are in one side of the hotel as we were the noise from a couple of nearby bars continues into the early hours and you can hear it (thank goodness for earplugs). All that said I would recommend and stay here again but a few items that a five star should address.

The dining experience was poor. We waited over an hour for low-quality meals, with a bottle of water costing 100 MAD instead of 7 MAD outside, feeling exploitative. The airport transfer was quoted at 500 MAD for a short ride, while a third-party service charged only 100 MAD. At checkout, I was wrongly billed 172 MAD for minibar items, leading to an awkward confrontation. Staff behavior was also problematic. Soukaina, the reception manager, was rude and dismissive, even laughing at me publicly. Additionally, my outside water was confiscated, which felt exploitative, especially in 90-degree heat. The hotel itself was not up to five-star standards, appearing worn and poorly maintained. Overall, my stay was marred by rude service, exploitative pricing, and a lack of care. I cannot recommend Sofitel Marrakech and urge potential guests to consider other options.

While we loved our stay in Marrakech, the Sofitel brand here was not up to par. The housekeeping and wait staff are very kind and service-oriented. The property is very nice, the recepcionist were not so nice to welcome us, I asked for a luxury room with 2 beds, never change us for one bed, the bedroom did not have coffe machine, I asked every day for it, never have it, and we have the last room of the building, 7 min walk to the restaurant for breakfast

Stunning building and is high end luxury in the lobbies and stunning grounds, but room was very basic compared to the expected standards. Staff super friendly, respectful and helpful. Bed was so great and comfortable. Just felt for the price and expected 5 star experience it fell short of the mark for me.

Outstanding! Although the property is impeccable, the staff of the Sofitel is what makes this hotel a wonderful and memorable stay. Hachim at the concierge desk took care to answer all of our queries in detail (and we had many!); Nouredine at the main restaurant remembered our orders and provided top notch service. We will definitely return in the near future.

Sofitel should be ashamed to have their name on this business. The service needs a full turnover or major training, at the very least. It is a very noisy hotel, including them doing industrial carpet cleaning at 1:30 am. We had to move rooms 3 times and never got a decent night’s sleep. If you have a choice, go elsewhere. You will thank me for it.

Overall, the service was good. However, the rooms were overpriced for an outdated style, very small, and poorly lit. The room quality was not up to par; we actually considered leaving after checking into the hotel.

I have going to Sofitel since 8 years and I could not believe the terrible experience with had me and my son. It used to be a Lovely hotel with great service but I must admit that the level of service has changed a lot! This is definitely not a 5 star level of service! I booked a Junior Suite 6 weeks in advance and specifically requested a beautiful view on the garden and Swimming pool so I can check my son. Instead we had a junior suite very dark, I felt in a cave with view on a concrete roof of the parking. I mediately requested another room. We arrived at 5.30 pm after a long plane journey and my son was looking forward to jump in the pool. Instead it took 2 hours and half to check in o finally placed us in a decent room they charged us 1,500 Dirham extra per night! We were there to relax on holiday but instead we had the laundry service knocking at our door and stepped in directly inside our room without our permission at 8am! And to make sure we were not going back to relax then they called at 8.15 am to explain why they entered our room without permission! This happened also in the evening when I showered before getting ready for dinner and I heard voices in my room. It was the room service checking from inside my room if I needed something ! And just to wrapped up the quality of service: I made sure our luggage and taxi from the hotel (which is 3 times the price of a normal taxi so you would expect high service.) were ready exactly at 4.45 pm to take us to the air

The property is quite nice… the arrival is beautiful and after a long trip it was nice to finally arrive home for the next 10 days! The hotel staff is welcoming and hotel smells great all setting a great start to the vacation! The room is pleasantly appointed although it is getting a little dated and will need some refreshing soon! However everything is clean although the rug appears to have a stains it is still ok. We also took the option of including the breakfast buffet with the room! I this trip I booked two rooms … the first few mornings are great with a well organized breakfast room allowing to have breakfast outside on the lanai covered from the hot sun… the breakfast buffet is well set up .. as this room is expressly made for this with orderly breakfast stations and something for every taste! The service is great and very attentive! This unfortunately does not last for our entire stay as the breakfast room is made unavailable to guests as a large group is coming in and headed to the hotel and will now be exclusively using this location! Breakfast for guests is moved to a second level which is clearly not prepared for the breakfast crowd.. interior room is somewhat limited and outside patio is not equipped with only 4 or 6 sun umbrellas leaving most people simply sitting in the direct sun for breakfast… although the staff are trying to make this work the buffet is oddly set up, things are not tidy and tables dirty! Not to the standard of this hotel chain!

Hotel was very nice. Adil greated us at the front desk and was very welcoming, went over the top to make us feel welcome. Only down side was the strange rule of no outside food or drinks - including milk for our 1 year old.

The hotel is in a great location the rooms were spacious and comfortable. There is a good selection at the breakfast buffet the pool and gardens are delightful and the food at the poolside restaurant was excellent. Unfortunately the hotel is let down by the reception staff. I had requested rooms with a view which meant a high floor prior to arrival .We were given ground floor rooms on arrival and had to move the following day. Reception staff did not deal with the request or any request well.Their attitude was haughty and unhelpful.

How does the Chairman of Accor sleep at night knowing that this property represented the best of his group and tries to competes with extraordinary properties in this condition? Marrakech is a top destination with world class hotels, and this is the best he has to offer? Its embarassing.

The hotel was very nice and luxurious walking in. Check in was very pleasant with tea brought out. The hotel itself is incredibly large with several pools, restaurants, etc. The room was typical of a large hotel. There was a balcony. Unfortunately, ours faced a garden next to a large road, so it was very noisy. There wasn't anything outstanding or unique about the room, but it was clean. The property was nice, as was the staff.

Upon arrival we were being pushed into a room upgrade on the old side with butler.. upon viewing & refusing we were made to wait 3 hours for our rooms on the Spa & Lounge side (as per booking)... reception staff seemed extremely put out that we turned down upgrade... We had a suite on the 5th floor with stunning views.. however the cleanliness leaves much to be desired.. they say “yes” to everything but do nothing! Breakfast & staff absolutely wonderful... especially the lovely juice maker gentleman! Big thumbs up for my special order juice! Will I return, I’m afraid not!

Our room had a very very sticky floor as soon as we entered the room. The sink faucet was broken and kept coming off in our hands. Had to report it several times to get the floor cleaned and no one ever apologized or even checked to see if it was cleaned to our satisfaction. The sink was never fixed and no manager ever contacted us. Terrible for an expensive hotel. Pool staff was hard to find for a drink. Second rate treatment at what claims to be a first class hotel. The worse is that no one cared, no one checked and no one offered any compensation. I guess it is not an unusual circumstance. Stay somewhere else if you want a quality stop.

For such a premium hotel the service was absolutely shocking. Rude, dismissive and excruciatingly slow for food and drink in all areas. Considering the costs charged and the star rating we came here for our honeymoon expecting to be pampered for a few days and instead we had to frequently chase down staff that were running around like headless chickens. There seemed to be no manager in charge to guide the staff and the giant portions of food did not make up for the fact that it wasn't particularly special and in fact rather bland. In our room, although the organisation was nice, there was a bottle of wine we finished on the first day that was never cleaned away. The mini-bar fridge was never replenished. We were supplied with slippers for the bedside only on the night before we left.

We enjoyed our stay here in a calm oasis just outside the Medina. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is being renovated and we were lucky to stay in one of the newly refurbished rooms, which had been done to a very high standard. I would recommend this hotel if you want somewhere to escape from the hustle and bustle of a day of sightseeing and relax around the pool.

We were a family of 8 occupying three rooms. One of the rooms was totally unacceptable and had to be changed at check in. It was in the non-renovated section and it was tired and wreaked of smoke. We can confirm that service in the pool area is also unacceptable in terms of attitude, attentiveness and response. Food took well over 90 minutes on a consistent basis once you were able to get someone’s attention for a menu. Pool staff was virtually invisible and we had to chase someone down to find towels. There were many other guests complaining of poor service outdoors. The main desk staff were professional and helpful to a degree. It seems that there was a complete disconnect between front desk staff and pool and outdoor service staff. Housekeeping, although good, was slow to respond for requests for toilet paper and other accessories. The rooms were very clean and very comfortable. We had an issue over a poolside bill to the point where management intervened and offered our lunch for free. We were later chased down by one of the pool staff for payment even though a manager had clearly stated in front of the server not to charge. We were confronted by a manager before leaving and we told him the story. It was not about the small charge but it was certainly about the inconsistency and lack of courtesy and professionalism. If this hotel is to promote itself as a five star facility, it will certainly have to increase its staff to guest ratio and train its staff.

I would describe this hotel as fake fancy. The lobby is impressive and the prices are high but the experience was average. The room had finishing details that were left undone and room service meals were cold and cooked improperly. We ordered a cheeseburger medium rare and it came to us very cold and extremely over cooked. Poolside was weird. We had to search all over the pool are for towels and no one ever cane by to ask us if we wanted to order anything. The view was of the hotel but also the freeway. All in all not worth the money. If it had been 80 us a night then that would make sense but not 300+

This is a luxury 5 stars hotel. You will appreciate. All is extremely good except one thing: the prices of the items you will purchase/use/eat/drink there. Some examples not to do: a breakfast in your room 43EUR, a red bull in the mini bar 7EUR, a breakfast at the beautiful bar in the sun near the pool 25EUR, the indoor heated swimming pool 1h is 15EUR.

This is the first time I have stayed at a hotel and everything that was posted in pictures was fraudulent!! The hotel is old and run down. One wing is closed off and you could see the windowless/doorless rooms from the pool. They trick you with pictures and put you in old run down rooms. They sure said they spoke English. Well if you like someone to smile and say yes ma'am without having a clue of what your requesting that this is your place. It was friststrating. The best part was the So lounge. I had made prior arrangements and they were forgotten about. However, 2 managers tried to mKe it better but it was a day late and a dollar short. They did not advertise of the "unexpected" restaurant closing time so we were hungry and forced to order expensive room service which was horrible. All I got was I'm sorry and a hefty room service bill. I have been to almost many European, Asian and S. American countries. This was my first Africa trip and it was terrible. Also there was tiles missing in the floor. Don't stay here!!

The hotel pool is stunning and I could easily spend all my time there. However, room cleaning service is far below its 5 star rating tho hotel management was very kind to offer me some flowers, perfume, a free meal to make up for it. All in all, it is a very nice hotel and good location but don't expect European standards of service there. I do believe this hotel made my holiday so much more enjoyable.

The hotel was great and the service was fantastic!! The general manager for guest relations was awesome!! He arranged a bouquet of flowers for my wife who was celebrating her 40th birthday and also arranged a late check out for us at no extra cost. One of the restaurant staff also arranged a cake at no extra cost for her in less than a couple of hours!! My friends and I had a great time!! Will definitely visit again!

We stayed at the Sofitel Lounge & Spa for two nights while in Marrakech. One thing to note is that the Lounge & Spa is the same hotel as the Palais Imperial (just different towers). While the grounds were very nice, the service was absolutely TERRIBLE. My husband and I had a horrible experience at the pool the second afternoon. We arrived around 2pm and after laying on our chairs for 45 minutes finally tracked down a waiter to get a food & drink menu. He came back 20 minutes later to take our order and we asked for a bottle of wine and scoop of ice cream. Another 45 minutes later he was nowhere to be found and we had not received our very simple order. I tracked down the pool manager and explained the situation and my frustration. He had another waiter come take care of us and he brought us an upgraded bottle of wine and some additional snacks which I assumed were on the hotel. As we were getting ready to leave we are hit with a bill charging us for a more expensive bottle of wine than we had originally ordered. At this point I was too annoyed to track down the manager again so just paid the bill and got out of there. The whole time we were there the service was awful, but this specific instance was the worst. Long story short, I would not suggest staying at the Sofitel. There are many other nice hotels around the area that I'm sure have much better service.

I stayed in the Sofitel lounge and spa part of the hotel. I booked the junior suite I think it was a newly refurbished room as it looked and smelt very new. The room had everything I needed. Staff were extremely friendly and also very helpful. You get free access to the So Lounge, Sofitels night club, as part of your stay. I didn't go but did sit in the garden and smoke shisha on a few nights which was open til 4am.

I would not recommend this hotel. For one on check in they gave me a room that had someone already in their, after their mistake they said they would upgrade me to a suite, only to find out when I got back home that they had charged me $600.00 on my credit card for no reason, which the credit card company is now investigating, also the hotel is for French speaking people even though government language is Arabic everything is in french even your hotel receipt which leaves you at the mercy of the hotel staff to translate for you, no where are you safe from people smoking except in your none smoking room, while checking in or out the hotel lobby is full of people smoking which should be for everyone and not for people who smoke, but for everyone. THIS IS WHY I CAN NOT RECOMMENDED THIS HOTEL FOR ITS DISHONESTY AND LACK OF RESPECT FOR ALL GUESTS.

The hotel caters for every need one would require for a vacation. Having travelled and stayed in many hotels I must comment on the excellent services received from the hotel staff and must mention Mr Rouduane and Mme Nafissa from Housekeeping - my room felt like a honeymoon suite with the beautiful flowers and candles that was made up for me and my partner, and whatever we required Mr Rouduane and Mme Nafissa was so quick to oblige us. I was particularly impressed with the professionalism of Miss Nassira and Miss Basma with assisting with any query we had whilst at the same time their demeanour and conduct made us feel like special VIP guests. Adil from concierge was also great too with all the advice of things to do in Marrakech from excursions to places to eat and visit. Thank you Sofitel staff for such a great experience! :)

The hotel is beautiful with some great facilities such as the pool area and the spa facilities. There is also a functional gym and you can go for a approx 6km jog around the olive grve across the road. (I'm not sure whether a woman on their own would feel safe but with a jogging partner it ought to be fine). The gardens around the pool are beautful and the constant bird song is wonderful. You get all the usual stuff like helpful staff to bring towels to your seat when you are by the pool or bring drinks you order. The only niggles relate to ordering food. Unlike other hotels of this calibre you seem to only be able to order certain foods from certain restaurants at certain times. But these are just niggles - it really is a good hotel. ( Go for breakfast. A buffet of significant variety awaits you and it even includes a gluten free section for those who are coeliacs. As an aside, £100 bought us 800DH from one of the Exchange companies in Gatwick. This appears to be really bad value as it is a rate of 1:8 whereas at our hotel our bill gave a rate > 1:10. So, best not to buy beforehand, though you are limited to 2000DH anyway.

Second time to this hotel and thought service would be better. Ended up changing room 4 times due to sewage smell. Final room we asked for somewhere quiet and got put above the nightclub! Never again, everything takes so long, food, getting through to reception, housekeeping.... Just frustrates even more.
