Just come back from a short stay at this hotel. On arrival I couldnt ask for more the gentleman on reception was welcoming and helped me out by letting me pay the tax by card in the little on site shop rather than drawing out money at the expensive cash machine on site. He also apologised about our room saying we would be moved tomorrow to a room with 3 single beds instead of a double and a single as requested when booked. For much of our stay there we had trips booked in so went out early morning and returned in the evening. On the last night we approached the hotel for a taxi into the town as we felt the hotel was trust worthy from the little interactions we had, had so far. The gentleman rang a driver who was straight outside the hotel and he charged us 250MAD we didnt think anything of this. We got in the taxi and once in the taxi the driver asked us what we where going to do in the town. We explained we where going to get something to eat then have a look round the markets. He then proceeded to drop us outside a restaurant which was quite obvious he had contacted on the way as the staff where stood outside waiting to greet us on arrival. We explained we would find somewhere to eat ourselfs and we will not be attending the restaurant he had dropped us off at. He gave us his number and said to call him if we wanted a taxi back. After a few hours in the town we got a taxi back from the Markets with a taxi from the town which cost us 80MAD when we told the driver we had been charged 250MAD coming he laughed and said it was too expensive for the short journey. The hotel wasnt the taxi service this I understand however the hotel referred us to this taxi service therefore making it acceptable for people to get ripped off when they are in a trusted postition. When we arrived back to the hotel later we went into the bar we ordered 3 drinks as we had a few times during our stay only this time it was 50 MAD more expensive however there wasnt a drinks menu at hand for us to check the prices conviently. We also had an issue with staff saying they didnt have change and then having to repeatedly ask for change when we had used a 200 note on several occassions during our stay. Tipping I understand is expected to which we did quite generously when we paid. Not everything at this hotel was bad the rooms where as expected from a budget hotel clean, tidy and spacious. The cleaners where amazing and ensured the rooms had clean bedding and towels everyday. The lady selling the trips was so helpful when we needed to print boarding passes and the lady in the exchange/gift shop was also lovely and helpful. Its such a shame that some members of staff really spoil this hotel. We where going to leave the left over money we had at the hotel once we left which was over 1500 MAD for the cleaners and bar staff however decided against this when we realised not all was as it seemed. The hotel has so much going for it with the location its such a shame.

The rest not so much. We were met by a lovely receptionist who opened the hotel gift shop to let us pay hotel tax via the card machine as it was very late and nowhere was open to get cash. He also informed us our room was not ready and he had given us a room with a double bed and one single (we needed 3 single beds) he told us to come down in the morning and we could be moved. This happend as planned the following day no extra change. As we had booked trips in we left early and was back late for the following 2 days. (The trips were the best part and I advise you book these in advance) Our room were cleaned, toilet paper restocked and towel changed daily. The final day we did not have any trips and planned to explore Marrakech a little more. We believed the hotel would look after their paying guests and we asked about a taxi from reception, a different receptionist from the one who checked us in. He told us the taxi is outside and will cost 250 (their currency) this was our first con. The taxi driver proceeded to take us to a restaurant of his choice as we mentioned we were getting some food from Marrakech. Feeling this was a further con as they tried to usher us into the restaurant we said no as we wanted to look around first. Scamakech was everything negatively described we kept our handbags close and had a nice time at the market finding a lovely bar at the center with live music. We flagged a taxi costing 80 (big drop from 250) to take us back to the hotel. Back at the hotel we sat in the bar area for drinks before going to bed. When ordering drinks in the hotel the bar staff gave us the wrong recipe hoping we would pay that amount when we questioned it they provided another that was still more than it should have been for the 3 drinks we got They moved all the drinks menus so we couldn't see the price. We would have stayed and chatted about the holiday as it was a final night and had a few more drinks but we were tired at this point by the constant deception of the staff who took the joy from the experience. They always say they have no change but miraculously managed to find some. I would happily give the change as a tip but the expectation and repetitive need to ask for my money back left a sour taste. All in all the hotel should care for the customers instead we were left feeling unable to relax and enjoy the surroundings because the staff were con artist taking from the tourist at every opportunity. A very unpleasant end to a great start.

We stayed at the Diwane 26th to 30th September, we were a party of 8 who had gone away together for a short break. We arrived at the hotel before check in opened which wasn’t a problem. We paid our room tax and got a drink from the bar. Please be aware that it is better to have smaller notes and coins as the bar staff will continually tell you they have no change so a 70 dirhams bottle of beer will cost you 100 dirhams if that is the only note you have. This happened every time we purchased something and as I said we were a party of 8 so between us lost a considerable amount of money. If the hotel does this to every guest staying there then they must be raking in a tidy profit. The rooms were adequate but dated and if you get a roadside room be prepared for continuous noise throughout the night. Housekeeping was excellent, breakfast was good with omelette and pancakes for fussy eaters, the pool attendant was lovely and would reserve sun beds for you. The day before we were due to leave two of our party went to reception to arrange a transfer to the airport for us at 18.30 the following day, a price was agreed and 250 dirhams was handed over in cash to a staff member. A receipt was asked for but were told it wasn’t necessary as they (staff) knew who the transfer was for. 18.30 the night of our departure no minibus, asked at reception and they totally denied one being ordered or any money being paid despite the husband and wife who booked it describing the staff they delt with. Totally denied having any knowledge of the booking almost arguing with us felt like we were made out to be liars. The only way the hotel would get us to the airport was if we paid again this time it was 300 dirhams, we had no alternative but to pay or we would have been late for check in. All in all we felt conned out of money by this hotel both at the bar and with airport transfer. Wouldn’t stay here again and for those of you that do please be very wary.

Staff were very helpful and the pool man was excellent! Check in and out were easy. Key cards often didn't work but easily sorted. Room was huge and authentically decorated. It was clean. The bathroom was a bit tired and the hairdryer dangerous as the casing kept falling off exposing wires. There were no tea & coffee facilities but I asked and was given a kettle so all good. Breakfast was nice with plenty choice. Pool area was adequate size and a super clean pool. The pool furniture could do with a clean though. Huge towels were provided to lay over and they were comfortable enough. All in all, we would come back here if in the area. Good location.

Hotel Diwane benefits from a prime location in the heart of Marrakesh, placing it right amidst the city’s vibrant energy. The property itself has a beautiful, traditional aesthetic with a Riad-style entrance that feels authentically Moroccan. The pool area, bathed in sunlight for much of the day, has a relaxing atmosphere and is one of the highlights of the hotel. Unfortunately, our overall experience did not match the promise of the setting. Upon arrival, we received a rather lukewarm welcome, despite having arrived early after a long, sleepless night of travel. We had booked a standard room for a week and were immediately offered an upgrade to a superior room—for cash only. This felt uncomfortable and, frankly, suspect. We were directed to a nearby ATM (with poor exchange rates and withdrawal fees). When we declined the upgrade, suddenly card payment was accepted. The interaction gave a poor first impression and cast a shadow over the start of our stay. At the very least, some guidance to the pool area and a welcome drink would have been appreciated—especially considering Morocco’s well-known hospitality, which sadly was lacking here. One of our rooms wasn’t ready, which we understood, but again, no real communication or care was offered. We usually tip generously, but this whole situation left us frustrated and without local currency. The rooms themselves were functional but underwhelming—tired, dated, and in need of refurbishment. Housekeeping and bedding were not of a good standard. We had to ask for cups to be changed. The tea and coffee never got replenished. The hotel has its staff complete housekeeping late. 18:00 when we were wanting to shower and get ready for an evening out. Breakfast was adequate—nothing memorable, but it did the job. What truly soured our stay was the service (or lack thereof). After check-in, it felt like we became invisible. We observed other guests receiving very attentive service—pool staff setting up loungers, fetching towels, engaging warmly. In contrast, we had to approach staff multiple times and were often ignored or met with blunt responses. My wife, in particular, felt she was treated rudely, and the difference in service between us and other guests was stark. One example: we requested a menu by the pool and, upon asking for a few minutes to decide, the staff member never returned. When we later approached the bar to order, we were met with an exasperated “What?”—a level of unprofessionalism that left us stunned. We genuinely started questioning whether we had done something to offend the staff. As a mixed-race family, it’s hard not to wonder if unconscious bias played a role, especially as we saw other guests warmly interacting with staff and receiving a level of attention that was consistently denied to us. It left us feeling unwanted and deeply disappointed. I’ve travelled extensively and stayed in countless hotels around the world, but I’ve never felt so unwelcome as a guest. It’s taken me a long time to write this review because, quite honestly, the experience left me upset. I hope this feedback serves as constructive input for the management team, as the potential of this hotel is undeniable. But hospitality is about people—and sadly, that’s where our experience fell apart.

Lovely budget hotel. Staff were really friendly and the food was good - even had vegan options. Comfortable rooms and good facilities. Weirdly wouldn't serve me a glass of wine after a certain time of night unless I bought the whole bottle which they said they could keep in the fridge for me if we didn't finish it! If you're staying here you'll probably need to get a taxi into the old town as it's quite a walk and crossing the road is taking your life in your hands - you just have to be brave and go for it! Taxis are cheap and safe, sit back and enjoy and the crazy traffic that just seems to work!

After reading the reviews we were quite apprehensive but honestly we had the best time. The hotel staff were great, really friendly and very helpful. The hotel is dated but I feel this just adds to the character of the place. Our rooms were spacious and clean. Would definitely return to this hotel un the future.

The location was good for the shops and a taxi ride from most other places. Medina etc. the was no views from the hotel as in a side street. And very noisy. Think we may have been hustled into upgrading room. Saying that the staff were fantastic the cleaners did a fantastic job as it was spotless. The room was basic but clean and big. Food was ok . The pool was great . In need of updating. Basically you need really good ear plugs for sleeping.

I booked superior rooms but was downgraded to standard interconnecting ones without explanation or compensation. The beds were dirty and not as described — one was a flimsy foldable frame with a broken wheel. The air conditioning made loud noises all night, making sleep nearly impossible. Housekeeping was virtually non-existent. We were left with just four toilet rolls between two rooms for six people, and the same stained bed linen for the entire stay. The lift broke down early in the trip and was never repaired, forcing us to climb three flights of stairs daily — a serious issue as I was travelling with a disabled family member. To make matters worse, the keycards stopped working almost every day, usually after we’d already climbed the stairs, meaning we had to go back down to reception to fix them. Staff were dismissive, laughed at us, and repeatedly overcharged for basic items. Despite paying for all-inclusive, we were charged for nearly every meal and drink — even when ordering during the designated hours. This hotel was not only uncomfortable and unhygienic, but it also felt exploitative. I would strongly advise others to avoid it.

Pool: Relaxing and no rush for beds. Pool attendant will sort you out. Decent background music playing. Drinks: good selection but no draft. Bit pricey but great service. Food: breakfast was good but I only go for eggs and croissants. Lunch sandwiches are really good. Room: I assume easyJet reserve the cheapest rooms so we upgraded to deluxe pool view for £20 per night. Room was clean and AC is great. Outside: A bit of work going on but would expect that after an earthquake. Turn left and you get the pricey restaurants and bars. Turn right you get the less exclusive restaurants. Walk dead ahead and you end up in a bar. Music, sports and a crazy night. In general a great hotel in the heart of the city. A quiet relaxed experience and if you like a little culture close by it’s a great base.

Let’s start with the positives: The staff were genuinely fantastic—friendly, accommodating, and always willing to go the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. The pool area was well maintained with a full-time attendant, so we never struggled to find a seat. The bar offered a good range of drinks (both alcoholic and soft), though prices were similar to what you’d pay in the UK. The food menu at the bar was decent too, with pizzas around £5, which was good value. On the less positive side: I had booked two standard rooms, which turned out to be very basic. I upgraded to premium rooms with a pool view for an extra £220—cash only, which felt unusual as card payments weren’t accepted. The premium rooms were clean but still dated and in need of refurbishment. Breakfast and dinner were included in my package. Breakfast was fine, but I’d recommend booking bed and breakfast only, as dinner was disappointing—cold on the first night and generally limited in choice throughout the week. Fortunately, there are plenty of places to eat nearby. Some things definitely need improvement: Room towels were old and stained, and didn’t feel fresh. The restaurant often ran out of clean glasses and cutlery, leaving guests waiting. The spa seemed pricey, with a 30-minute massage costing nearly £50, so I didn’t try it. Overall, this hotel would suit someone looking for a basic, budget-friendly stay with excellent staff but limited comfort. Personally, I’d rate it 3 stars—it matched what I paid, but I’d likely spend a bit more next time for a higher-quality hotel.

I don’t often give bad reviews or complain but there were so many disappointments that I think it’s worth making people aware before deciding to stay here and give a full review. When arriving at the hotel reception staff were friendly and so were the staff at the cash desk. We were given two interconnecting rooms as a family of four which we were happy about. We got to our rooms which were a bit outdated and tired looking, but otherwise clean. Not entirely what was expected from looking at pictures beforehand and the fact this was classed a 4 star hotel, but as long as room was clean we were happy. Breakfast was not great - minimal variety offered and it was the same each morning. The small number of hot foods were not even covered despite the endless swarm of flies hovering. Also when you think of Morocco you imagine vibrant, fresh and appealing fruit. The fruit offered here was a deep bowl of rotten dull fruit. There was no pace in taking up dirty plates and tidying which I thought would be a priority given the heat and all of the flies. Several times there were no cups nor milk available. Also many of the cups were dirty and crockery chipped. I would not bother having lunch or dinner here. Firstly the staff were having a full blown argument through the restaurant which lasted a while. When the waiter came to our table I asked clearly for what I wanted. I received something different to what was listed on the menu and had to resort to wiping sauce off lettuce leaves as the waiter had argued with us when we challenged what we were given. Quite distressing as I suffer with an eating disorder. There’s also a sneaky culture in reserving sunbeds. We came down one morning to find four free beds and the towel man would not let us take them, pointing to four other beds and actually moving people’s personal items to make us take those particular beds he was pointing to. It’s clearly evident he takes money off residents to reserve particular beds. Very unfair, especially when we spotted particular residents that had “reserved” with a backhander didn’t arrive at the pool until after midday. We called the manager down who either did not understand or seem to care. Absolute madness. Drinks at the bar are ridiculously expensive, even non alcoholic, however credit to the barmen who were very friendly and welcoming. One time I ordered drinks, and my payment was declined as my bank had put a stop due to fraud suspicion as I was out of the country. My husband then went upstairs to retrieve the cash and paid the bill. However late that evening at 9:45 we were woken up by knocking at our door by a member of staff who was insisting we had not paid our bill! Rooms were kept relatively clean however toilet rolls were never replenished and one time we wiped the floor with a towel and it came up black! One day we wanted to go to the medina by taxi. The hotel does offer a shuttle service but priced at 400 Dirham, 4 times the price of a taxi! We tried to order a taxi ourselves by app but none were available. We asked reception if they could call us a taxi but they refused! Signs say the pool is open from 9am however a couple of times the pool wasn’t ready until after 10 due to a cleaning treatment. The website advertises they have a fitness centre - it was nothing of the sort but a grubby little room with barely any space nor machines. On the day of departure we arrived at breakfast at 6:30 to have something quick before meeting our transfer for the airport. We were there for half hour and the pancakes still had not been done despite somebody just standing at the station soy daughter went hungry. I realise this review sounds like a right rant. When there are only one or two things I’m not too bothered but there were just so many things that were disappointing that on the whole added up to a poor experience. Take no notice of this being a 4 star hotel - it is far from it!

L’emplacement.

Hammam at Diwane Spa, Marrakech We booked the Package Express - Hammam beldi, massage and jacuzzi for our family of 6. We had a wonderful hammam experience at Diwane Spa. The treatment was both authentic and deeply relaxing — from the steam and black soap scrub to the rhassoul clay mask, every step was expertly done. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches: fresh lemon ice water, warm herbal tea, and delicious biscuits served after the treatment. The staff Naima, Aya, Fouzia and Siham were kind and professional, and the spa atmosphere was peaceful and clean. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a traditional yet luxurious hammam in Marrakech at a reasonable price. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My wife and I booked this hotel as a short city break, we deliberately did not want a business type hotel. From arrival we were made to feel most welcome, shown to our room, entirely as booked and nicely pre cooled. We arrived quite late, no problem to the hotel, bar was open and chef agreed to do us a late meal, which in turn was mouth watering and traditional Moroccan. Staff fabulous, Restaurant great, facilities absolutely perfect to chill out near the pool, spa treatments I’m told by my wife just fantastic, all very reasonably priced. Can’t fault this place for style, service, in city location and welcoming traditional style and staff.

Don’t understand some previous reviews and I don’t normally leave them but this very cost effective little gem of a hotel is just perfect for a Morrocan city break. Had a lovely time here, rooms were good, communal spaces were spacious and clean, the pool area was great and the pool guy was superb! Breakfast had a perfect choice from pastries to freshly cooked omelette. The medina is a 5-10 min taxi away (50 - 100 dirham). Some decent restaurants within walking distance. Actually good enough that we’ve booked again for next year to return and explore some more!

I’ve had a gander through all the negative reviews to see if I can agree with any of them first. The only thing I can somewhat agree with is that the hotel would benefit from some updating, mainly in the outdoor area. The pictures on the website are old now. Other than that, I think the other bad reviews are just down to individual experiences. We were here for three nights. The hotel is very close to the airport and is situated about a ten minute taxi ride from the inner city where the tourism action is. You could walk it, but not at this time of year when temperatures are between forty and fifty degrees. Room: Check in is from 3pm and our flight landed at 10am, so we were at the hotel before noon and asked if we could leave our bags there. The hotel staff actually told us they’d have a room ready in thirty minutes if we were happy to wait in the lobby. This is excellent customer service. They offered a room upgrade for €25 per night but we declined and stuck with our standard room. The standard rooms are huge - well air conditioned, the bathroom is huge as well. There is a TV, a safe and a fridge which came in very handy. The rooms were cleaned and beds made each day, and the standard of cleanliness was very high. Outdoor area: The staff managing the outdoor area were superb. They were very polite and very helpful. There was one chap in particular who manages the sun loungers - he found us places to sit each day, provided everyone with fresh towels and even came around moving parasols to make sure no one was burning … he saved my left nipple from crisping up! We ordered drinks and food each day. Prices are very reasonable and the pizzas are really good! Lobby: Plenty of comfortable seating. It’s dark and cool in this area and there is an ATM and an information desk. Staff working on reception are really pleasant, there was one gentleman who was really helpful and carried our bags to our room. Restaurant: Breakfast was included. There’s a lot of food to choose from, with hot food, pastries, breads etc. I think they were making fresh omelettes but we didn’t have any of them. Previous reviews mentioned birds flying over you - yes, tiny little sparrows. They don’t bother you, I never saw them land on the food. Just wondering about looking for crumbs off empty plates. It’s no different to eating outside, I don’t see why this would be an issue. Overall: Customer service is great. The staff are really helpful and the hotel, despite needing some updating, is clean with everything you could need. I’d happily return to this hotel.

I had a very disappointing experience during my stay. The day staff were noticeably rude and dismissive toward me and my family, and I couldn’t help but feel we were treated differently because of our skin color. While other guests seemed to receive warm and helpful service, we were met with indifference and a lack of basic courtesy. This kind of treatment is unacceptable and deeply disheartening. Good customer service should be extended to all guests, and unfortunately, that was not the case here. Even when the staff made an error with the amount they wrote in regards to city tax they went on call me a lie. Birds kept flying in and out of the breakfast area while the food was uncovered. I would not return and cannot recommend this hotel to others.

OK, so you get what you pay for, the hotel needs a some tlc. The staff are very nice and helpful. The rooms are cleaned every day. The breakfast is OK, the omelette are ok. The hotel just needs money spending on it.

What a lovely traditional hotel, such friendly staff, rooms cleaned daily, fresh towels everyday, Breakfast is good, fresh omelettes, traditional pancakes, muffins, A sort of cooked breakfast, fresh bread, cereal, fruit, tea, coffee and juice. Plenty. The pool staff was great, saved a bed for us everyday, the bar staff were brilliant, bringing drinks , food menus when required. We paid £375 each for this holiday and it was worth every penny. We had 2 spa visits, a hammam which was lovely, a nice scrub, and then on our last night a relaxing massage. The 2 girls were fantastic Would highly recommend. Don’t know what all the bad reviews are about. Ignore and just book, you won’t be disappointed. It’s a 10 min taxi ride 50-70 DHM to the square/souk (about £5 each way)

We stayed at Hotel Diwane for three nights & can say it was well worth it, would 100% recommend staying here, great hotel, bar & pool area, great location and the staff were so lovely & helpful. I was worried after booking this and reading the reviews, but I can say ignore them!! & book this hotel. The hotel is lovely, the bar and pool area is great, we had bed and breakfast, and it was nice, just what you expect from a bed and breakfast. Plenty of choice on food & the lunch menu is good too along with the rest of the food, cocktails are nice too. The rooms are just like the photos, they do the job, I can’t complain about the room as I knew what it looked like before booking - comfy bed, clean bathroom and overall a nice big room, good aircon & the cleaners replaced towels and cleaned the room everyday & quickly (we never seen them) Bags were brought up to the room, they couldn’t do enough for you. The bar and pool area is very nice & the bar staff are super friendly and lovely, waiting on you hand and foot. Especially the pool guy, making sure you had towels and everything you needed. He was great!! (didn’t get his name) – We loved staying by the bar and pool. The reception staff are warm and welcoming, always willing to help and a big shout out to the lady working behind the travel desk, she sorted us out with taxis and made sure we were looked after. Being dropped off / picked up. She gave us the taxi number to ring when we wanted to come back and always did without waiting & was very cheap. Taxi drivers were always nice and friendly, always interested in your day and making conversation. The hotel is in a great location & if you are wanting a nice bar near the hotel I would deffo recommend point bar Marrakech – Great bar, cocktails are nice and cheap & the staff were so nice. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would 100% stay here again if we are ever back in Marrakech. Lovely little hotel ginger cat too, to top it off. Cash machine in hotel which are very handy & it is not expensive to take out from. Free WIFI & the WIFI is good. If you are staying at this hotel, don’t worry about the bad review, I really don’t understand them, we loved it and I’m sure you will too. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, Hotel Diwane & thank you to all the staff!!!!! Hopefully we’ll be back.

I stayed here for a week in May, and while the hotel has potential, several issues made the stay more frustrating than relaxing. This review reflects my experience - others may feel differently, but here’s what stood out. The Pool Situation The pool area could be fantastic - good music, nice design, and a great suntrap. But the whole atmosphere is ruined by poor management. Despite signs saying “no lifeguard on duty,” a staff member clearly acts in this role and is responsible for the bizarre sunbed reservation culture. By 10:00 (when the pool opens), almost all beds in the sun are “reserved” by the lifeguard - even if no one uses them for hours. We were forced to sit in the shade on multiple mornings while 20+ beds in the sun sat empty. We were just told “The sun is coming” - which it did not for over an hour. Another day, the reserved beds weren’t touched in over 4 hours. This might be part of the local culture, but compared to European holidays, it felt unfair. The hotel offers no guidance or policy, and when we asked reception, we were told to speak with the lifeguard. If you’re not fluent in French, that’s another challenge. It set a strange tone that never improved. Pool Bar Policy We brought two bottles of water from the shop next door - less than 20 dirhams for both. We weren’t even drinking them yet, but staff took them from us until we left the pool. Later I learned the hotel charges 25 dirhams per bottle. Water is essential in Moroccan heat, and with undrinkable tap water, this policy felt like exploitation. The Room We were told we’d been upgraded, but this wasn’t the case - it was a standard room that had been recently renovated. It looked nice enough, but the windows were poorly sealed. At night it sounded like they were wide open. The sound of car horns and motorbikes was constant, and sleep was a real struggle. Earplugs and an eye mask helped a bit, but even then, I only got two good nights of sleep all week. Breakfast Basic at best. No food was labelled, which isn’t great if you have allergies or dietary needs. Options were limited: half-cooked omelettes, a few hot items, pastries, salad, pancakes with jam or honey (no chocolate spread), and no condiments like ketchup or mayo. I even saw a staff member drop a fork, wipe it with his hand, then continue whisking eggs. Other Frustrations • Only one small, slow lift working - often broke down. • WiFi in rooms was unreliable - slow, buffering constantly. • Our key card stopped working every single day, requiring trips to reception. • Some staff were lovely, but a few came across abrupt or dismissive. This may be cultural or due to language barriers, but it didn’t feel welcoming. Final Thoughts Normally, you figure out a hotel’s rhythm after a day or two. Here, after 7 nights, I still felt like I was trying to work it out. The hotel could be so much better with a few small improvements - better pool management, clearer communication, fairer policies - but as it stands, I wouldn’t return. Positives: • Room was cleaned to a high standard daily - credit to the housekeeping team. • Pool bar sells alcohol and accepts card payments. • The outdoor area is lovely, with a good balance of sun and shade. Without the sunbed drama, it would be a major asset. I’m just glad we were only there for one week - two would’ve been too much.

The room was very clean and bed comfy. The room was not modern more morrocon - traditional. The hotel was dated however, morrocon - traditional. The pool staff especially pool guy couldnt do enough. Good location. Some points- we paid 50 English as deposit at check in, there is some communication between staff at checkout to confirm status of room. Also, key card to be charged once chambermaid as been - went to room on 2x occasions to find I was lock out so back to reception2🫣. The quality of food rubbish! Best either stay over and eat/go out. Not even complimentary drink of water at dinner. Staff are lovely. If u want massage etc be prepared for less dignified experience- strip get on bed then roll over on front no towel screen at all🤔 xx

The hotel is about 20 minutes from the airport but hold on to your hat as the roads aren't for the faint hearted. We were 2 couples and the reception check in was easy and they accomodated our early arrival by giving us one of the rooms early, so we could park our luggage and change in to poolside wear. We were given the option to upgrade, which we accepted so we can't comment on the room we booked but the room we had was spacious, clean and had a balcony. Do not be fooled by the towels on the bed, it may look busy but the wonderful gentleman that manages the poolside, not only finds you a great spot he also takes in consideration your needs, for example 2 of us wanted sun, 1 didn't want sun and 1 didn't care, he found us the perfect position and he made sure that was ours for our stay. The staff that looked after drinks and food around the pool were also great, you only needed to stand from your sunbed and they were making eye contact with you to see if you wanted anything from the bar. We tried the spa and we booked between the 2 of us, a face and head massage, back massage and 2 x reflexology, my friend (who is a qualified beautican) just had her feet rubbed for 30 minutes, she did point out that this wasn't reflexology and they offered her another appointment but with the same person and she would also have to pay again!! I can highly recommend Point Bar (I see another person recommend this and thank you so much), also La Trattoria, food and service at both was amazing and in walking distance of the hotel. There are 2 tortoices, please if you go there, grab a bowl of salad at breakfast so they can have a nibble, they LOVE cucumber and tomatoes (chopped).

We had a great few days in Marrakesh staying at the Diwane hotel. The bed rooms are basic but clean and the staff make up for it because they are all so friendly and helpful We had bed and breakfast - the breakfasts are good and there is something for everyone. We were lucky enough to use Anas, one of the taxi drivers the hotel have. He gave us lots of local info on where to go and what to see. A really lovely man who helped make our holiday extra special.

My friend and I stayed here for 5 days from the 15th April. I read the reviews before I came out-which I do not normally do, so thought i would review our trip. check-in was pleasant, had to pay tourist tax and security deposit. which we received the security deposit back the day we left. our room was available from 3pm. we had a superior room which looked over the pool, clean room and nicely decorated. Breakfast was okay. The staff made the hotel, the pool guy was amazing and was always helpful with beds etc. we decided to book a trip to the souk with a tour guide (with easy jet rep) so glad we did..it was a little mad! booked other trips on app viatour which were very good. Everyone gives you their guidance, regarding taxis etc...INDRIVE app was good. My friend and I had a lovely trip. Diwanne Hotel probably Moroccan 4 star rating. Cocktails really good!

After reading some reviews online i was unsure what to expect. Check in was a little busy due to a slightly delayed flight but once we’d checked in, paid the security deposit and tourism tax we were helped to our rooms with our luggage. Rooms were clean, spacious, cleaned every day with fresh towels. A little dated but absolutely no issues. The hotel staff were all helpful, friendly and readily available if needed. Breakfast was a continental style breakfast with plenty available including a few hot options such as fresh made omelettes. The pool area was a lovely addition especially for a morning or afternoon round exploring Marrakech. The only downside to this was people saving sun loungers from early in a morning and not using them until late afternoon though this didn’t mean we didn’t get a lounger. Security was lovely and recommended us a restaurant on our first evening even taking us to show us where it was and it was perfect! The bar was okay served many drinks until later on. And lunches were such good value and really tasty. Another small downside was building works taking place outside the hotel but this cannot be helped and didn’t disturb sleep or our break. We all had a massage on our last day which again was great and really good prices. A great base, lovely clean rooms and pool area with helpful friendly staff for what we paid for the break I was really impressed and would return.

This is NOT a 4 stars hotel by any stretch of imagination. Rooms are very basic. TV is minuscule. No small towels. Only shower gel and shampoo is available. Rooms are super noisy and can hear clearly all neighbors conversation thru the walls. Breakfast is less than desirable. Food with very low quality. Overall, this hotel should be rated 2 stars or less.

I read a review that described this place as modern and showed a picture of a love heart on the bed. LOL. So misleading it should be removed as a review. I've rated this place as a 4/5, which I think is fair. It's definitely NOT modern. I suspect it was decorated in 1960? Looks a bit worn now. Don't get me wrong, I loved it. Felt authentic. Like going to Spain in the 80s did. Perfect location. Staff friendly (shout out to the friendly concierge). Hopefully my deposit didn't get taken (I've put it on the card and they said it would be cancelled - but who knows). Room had an interconnecting door with another room. The neighbours seemed nice, I hope I didn't disturb with my snoring. I could hear their conversation very clearly. The photo shows the chair I jammed against the door (sorry neighbour). Shower didn't work (and the bath tile was off so the Hotel knew). I was there for two nights so all I needed was a bed and breakfast. Breakfast was fun. Not sure what the green juice was, melon perhaps? Very nice though. Get there early to enjoy the best of the breakfast as on Sunday they didn't replace the scrambled eggs. I loved it. Perfect for me. It won't be to everyone's taste but suited me.

A beautiful modern hotel underpinned with a traditional Morroccan vibe nestled in the heart of a vibrant Marrakesh. We have been to this hotel many times, at least twice most years. It's true treasure is the staff Yusef in the bar, the amazing warm Waffa & Umema (I'm not sure that's spelt correctly 🤔) at breakfast and the awesome kind and humble Aziz who looks after the pool . This time we were fortunate to meet Bajia who looked after our room , an absolute beautiful kind woman who could not do enough for us. I would like to mention everyone but I would be writing for hours! I cannot not finish my review without expressing the utmost praise for our friend and Owner Karim a true gentleman. If you are looking for fabulous delicious food from genuine professional staff , look no further this hotel offers an unforgettable taste of Marrakesh that will leave you wanting to return again and again.

Nice property, little dated, needs some upgrading. Swimming pool area was nice with an attendant in situ. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Location was great as there were many shops and restaurants nearby. Bus stop was just outside which takes you to the town centre for 4 dirham. Main difficulty i had was with the Expedia. The website clearly said that the breakfast was included but hotel said the booking was for room only. On the website there was no choice of with breakfast or without breakfast. So be aware when you book through Expedia. On contacting Expedia they were not able to help

Only the location of the hotel is acceptable
Cons: There are no products in the room except a towel and soap. There is no carpet on the floor and slippers are not provided. We were there on New Year's Eve and paid 400 euros for 3 days, It's never worth it... Since the surrounding area is the entertainment part of the city center, there is constant noise and the hotel has no view. It looks like it was converted into a hotel from an apartment building with 200 rooms

Very friendly and helpful staff. Stylish architectural features in this multi storey hotel. An excellent breakfast buffet is on offer. Rooms are en suite with A/C with comfortable beds. A desk in the foyer offers a range of city guide trips to the Medina and the famous Bahia palace, day trips to Atlas Mountains and other cities, bicycle hire etc.
Cons: During the stay the Hammam in the hotel was out of order due to some upgrading construction work. However hotel staff pointed to a nearly external Hammam which was great.

Welcoming staff, hotel throughout was clean. Large, bath, rooms, and beds.
Cons: Great hotel, clean and spacious, with friendly staff. However, the food in the restaurant wasn't the best. Typically, what you'd come to expect from an entry level all inclusive. Personally, I didn’t enjoy the food (maybe ok for an overnight stay). But if you're looking for something to eat every day for inclusive meals, then I'd say look at staying at another hotel .

The hotel is situated in a central location which meant we could easily travel around Marrakech. The room was spacious and the hotel was generally well maintained.
Cons: Part of the attraction was the Hammam. Sadly, this was out of order during our stay. Apart from that I would definitely recommend this hotel and would come back. If I could make some suggestion to enhance my experience; 1. Have clear signs regarding swimming pool opening and closing time. For some strange reason you are only able to swim between 10am and 7pm, even when there is high demand for access outside of these hours, there is no flexibility. 2. There is no lifeguard and there appears to be minimal staff on the ground. There was only one pool attendant and he was responsible for towels cleaning etc. as pleasant as he is, you find that you need to wait due to the sheer demand of his time.additional staff during peak times would be a no brainier. Also, this will give you peace of mind and ensure safety during use of the pool. 3.The bar just closes when staff stop working. No last orders or warning, which means that you only discover they had shut when your ready to place an order. This can be frustrating. Again, it would be helpful if there was clear signage 4. Lift kept on breaking down. Sometimes on multiple occasions during one day and certainly throughout our time at the hotel. If you have limited mobility this will make accessing your room extremely challenging. 5. Staff- I’m not sure if the staff have all had the same training but some went over and beyond whereas the majority seemed to have an extremely relaxed and nonchalant attitude. Perhaps it’s a cultural thing but I am not used to this type of customer service and it made me feel awkward about approaching them as I didn’t want to disturb there conversation or time scrolling on their devices

The swimming pool, the free WiFi, the location.
Cons: The lady who checked me in did not give me any information regarding my stay regarding breakfast or any of the facilities. I did not feel warmly welcomed. I was also rudely awoken when someone telephoned my room when I was sleeping at night to ask me how many people were in my room. I was not told the reason for this question.

The only positive thing about this hotel is the staff.
Cons: Photos are very misleading! The hotel looks dated, not in a good way. Lounge spaces look very unpleasant, the pool area very messy, the room smells, the corridors/lobby unclean. Breakfast was disappointing as well. Everything has the vibe of a retirement home for the elderly. Not a place to celebrate a vacation.

The location couldn't have been better, situated right in the heart of Gueliz, the city center. The hotel's pool was a delightful highlight, providing a refreshing oasis to relax and unwind. Its beauty and cleanliness added to the overall appeal, making it a perfect spot to cool off. The room was spacious with great view on the pool. The breakfast served at the hotel was very good. The variety of options and the quality of the food exceeded my expectations.

Authentic Moroccan hôtel The swimming pool was nice. The breakfast was nice. But after 10 days in the hotel, eating the same thing is very repetitive. The hotel staff were really nice. They helped me get my laundry done. The location is wonderful. Not too noisy at night. Near everything. Nice neighbourhood. They emailed me the invoice which is appreciated too.
Cons: Having booked a double bed, getting 2 single bed and when I asked reception to change my room, they said that double bed is given only if available while the booking page clearly stated double bed and not optional. Note: after insisting, they gave me the room and an extra basket of fruits which was a nice gesture. I also had an issue with the car service in the hotel where the lady looked at her computer to give me a price. Then when I arrived at the location she called me back to say I had to pay almost 40% extra and if I said "no", the taxi would have left. Leaving me 30 minutes of Marrakech in the middle of the country side. So I paid the extra and my friends who were travelling with me had to walk back to their hotel instead of being driven 5 minutes away from the hotel. I do not recommend this service. The gym needs to be refreshed.

The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful all of the time and they were very good communicators. The location was great, the bigger, cleaner, busier area of Marrakech did not disappoint. Perfect central spot. The pool was big enough and was a sun spot for the majority of the day, a good amount of sun-beds surround it. The rooms were kept clean and tidy, the balconies were spacious with a great view and the bathroom/shower was amazing.
Cons: The buffet dinner was left out too long and gave me food poisoning one night. I felt very sick and feverish for around 24 hours. Also, our toilet was slightly broken as it didn’t flush properly sometimes.

The location is strategic. It is still close to the center of the city that has many shop, restaurants, and other amusement. I also like the room as it is quite big and spacious.
Cons: The wifi is not working well. In my room, I couldn't get good wifi connection. It's a bit burdensome as I had to use wifi for works and I booked the hotel because I thought the wifi would be oke especially I did not find any comment about the wifi so I assumed it is in good place.

Cons: Please could you ensure the bath plugs are working properly as couldn’t figure out how a simple thing won’t fit in for bath! You can offer kettle, milk and various teas in each room as you get so many tourists and sometimes people would like to have beverages and teas/ coffees in their own room- this is basic courtesy so you should offer this.

Good things: - Comfortable beds. - Morning omelet at Bfast buffee was good. Not good: - Gym opening hours is from 11. Even trying to get the access earlier to it was a hassel. - You will smell like fried food if you go to the breakfast buffé, especially your hair. Just coming out of the room on the second floor made us slightly nauseas. - No standardized level of english on the staff. - No introduction to the pool, gym or other information about the hotel at check-in. Overall, wouldnt choose this hotel again,

The staff are very warm and welcoming, especially the lifeguard which made the swimming pool experience a 10/10. The staff work tirelessly to keep hotel clean. I liked the fresh omelette every morning the chef would make at request. A very warm traditional atmosphere located in the centre of city life. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious with an access window and an extra sink near the toilet. Good storage space for clothes and toiletries The balcony view from the hotel room gives the view of the swimming pool and allows you to feel a part of the city life from afar.
Cons: A member of staff was unwilling to let me cancel one day of my five day stay as I had already checked in on the first day according to some paperwork they found round the back of the reception. They were unwiling to ask as to reasons why. This inflexibilty and lack of sympathy negatively affected my overall experience. The gym opens at 11am and it should open by 6am as it allows guests with the flexibility to be getting on with exploring the red city x. The breakfast could have included essential fruits like grapes, apples, pears and bananas every morning. I choose a double bed and was given two single beds put together with only a pillow each. The decor could do with upgrading but keeping the traditional feel. Our bath had a dent and black marks. This could be replaced with a walk in shower along with the stained sink and toilet. The noisy fridge affected our sleep.

The bathrooms weren't very clean - our friends had hairs in the floor in theirs. You could see that the cleaning had been cursory - limescale and long term dirt on the back of shower levers, taps etc. Staff at front desk and in restaurants were fantastic - really friendly and helpful. In particular, a lovely man in the snack cafe. Breakfast was very good. We had a night of sleep completely ruined by partying/screaming guests in neighbouring rooms. They were asked to be quiet but some compensation for the massive inconvenience would've been appreciated. Unfortunately had our last afternoon plans of sitting relaxing by the pool distrusted by hours of maintenance work going on within 2 metres of our heads

I stayed in Diwane Hotel for 6 nights. Just returned from a lovely trip in Marrakech. I am from UK and there were many others from UK aswell. I can't fault this hotel all the staff from the reception to the security to the kitchen were very friendly. There is a desk where you can book tours and activities, the lady at that desk is also helpful. I did the hammam experience in the hotel spa and that was amazing. You have to pay for it separately but well worth it. Even the spa lady was so kind and sweet. The rooms are clean and spacious. It has a traditional moroccon decor which I personally loved. It's not a new modern hotel but very comfortable. The location is great. There is a sweetshop for water etc just outside aswell as other shops and cafes. You can walk to many shops. It's also close to the main city and airport is just 15 mins drive. The pool is beautiful and cleaned daily. I would recommend to anyone. What I can say is I read the reviews before booking this as the majority of people were happy with this hotel. There will always be one or two who complain. So I would say go by the majority according to your needs. For me it ticked all the boxes. I have 2 children aged 7 and 12 and they loved it too.
Cons: Tiling around bathroom was bit old and damaged but shower itself was nice and powerful.

Though indicated as amenities for a triple room, there was no bath tub, no mini bar, and no balcony. Only heavy duty curtains up at the window so no privacy in the room when curtains are open during the day. The windows are not sound proof. The room was not as shown in the photos. The refrigerator was rusty. The shower was full of mould and the shower curtains were mouldy which we had to request to be changed, The hand rail in the shower was rusty (very unsafe). No ATM on site as indicted on website. Spa facilities - only one member of staff was available at any one time so was unable to experience treatments as a pair or as a small group. Expected more from a 4 star hotel.

The front desk staff had been spectacular! Caring for the guests well-beings and best interests. A driver vendor for the hotel extremely unscrupulous with plenty under the table deals against hotel policies luring guests into trips to his advantage with astronomical markups, even by tourists standards. Constantly pestering guests to use his transportation service even to the point of harassment. Younes is the said driver to be avoided at all costs. Do not even engage him. You will be glad you steered clear of Younes if you do not wish this person to ruin your trip.

Terrible. How this hotel is rated 4 stars is beyond me. No sound-proofing at all in the windows so you can hear the street noise throughout the night, complained about this to hotel staff and all I got told was we're in the centre so expect some noise. Toilet didn't flush, took 3 attempts to finally get it working. WiFi in rooms seldom works. Rooms are dull and miserable. Definitely will not be returning here.

Hotel was OK. I chose this hotel mainly because the pool looked so appealing in photos, but in person it was much smaller and very crowded, so I never used it. Breakfast was OK, not very interesting and coffee all came from instant dispenser machines instead of being fresh brewed. Room was comfortable, if a bit drab.

Repetitive breakfast morning, became boring by the 3rd morning. For choice & variety for breakfast. Very, very poor. Unfortunately. Dinner was worse. Out of the 7 meals, only enjoyed the traditional meal served on the Friday. It was different. We even had seconds, Whow!! Overall, even meals were very poor & lack of variation & choice. Had lunch once, that was enough! Couldn't face another

The hotel is situated in the center of town, Gueliz. The staff is very friendly. The only major issue we had was when we had breakfast, the took the old towels but didnt change them directly for new ones. The first time we called for new ones and they did arrive, after 45 minutes. The second time it happened we were told this is how it works: they take in the old ones, wash them and bring them back later that day. Breakfast was ok, the staff was always friendly and helpfull.

Overall it wasn't terrible, I don't think it's a 4 star but it was clean, beds very hard. Breakfast options good but the bread in Marrakesh is not like what you get in the uk. Staff very helpful and friendly. the rooms were cleaned regularly. Nice authentic feel. There is a rule about not bringing food or water from outside but the manager allowed us to bring in stuff, I think that was nice.

Great hotel, I can see why it's popular. The rooms are always cleaned, the hotel itself is immaculate. There's a great pool, very simple but I was there everyday for two weeks. The staff look after you and that includes the breakfast staff. The location is perfect and only a 25 minute walk to the main square. There's shops nearby and places to eat. I would stay again and it's somewhere I would recommend friends stayed too.

The most disappointing thing about our trip was the hotel. Poor from start to finish. In one of the rooms the A/C was broken, and with some of the days getting as hot as 37 degree this was extremely uncomfortable. Room Service was essentially non-existent. Also the rule of not being able to bring food or drink back to the hotel is an obvious method of promoting their own restaurant to purchase food and drink onsite. During checkout, no words were spoken, we simply went up to return the keys and that was that not even a simple "How was your stay?".. Seriously cannot comprehend how this is a 4 star.

This is a four star hotel, but a four star hotel from 10 years ago. It is lovely but is really quite dated. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful and the pool was great. However, the food wasn't anything special, and the wifi quality varied from high speed to non-existent. Overall, nice hotel but could do with some love.

We arrived very late one night and went to bed thinking we should have spent a bit more on a nicer hotel. Woke up the next morning and were pleasantly surprised. Had a nice breakfast in the courtyard and enjoyed playing with the resident turtles. Also enjoyed the Moroccan pancakes and mint tea served every morning. The pool is well kept and they offer towels to use. We also took advantage of using the spa and did the VIP package. If you haven't done a Hammam treatment before, it's worth doing here. The only complaint I would have is that our room was on the first floor right above the restaurant and every morning we were woken up very early (7:30 when bfast started) to the chairs screeching across the tile floors. Plus our shower could have used a little TLC. The back of the tub had dark stained tiles and mould. It's an easy fix that could make a big difference. The location of the hotel is in the New City and a close walk to the Majorelle Gardens. Plus one of the best restaurants in the city is right across the street - Al Fassim. Make sure you make a booking.

Lovely Hotel,Comfortable room and Lounges. Helpfull Staff. Excellent quality Breakfast available 06.30 - 10.00, Convenient location. Reception booked a daytrip for us in the Atlas Mountains with an excellent driver and guide for a excellent price. Main market and Souk was 30 minutes walk along safe streets, taxi for 40 dirham. Good Restaurants and cafes in the vicinity.Do bring some good walking shoes if you plan to go to the mountains.

Excellent stay in all areas, apart from the no Wifi in the rooms (you need to bring your laptops to the lobby). However, all staff were friendly and helpful. Pretty much all of them spoke English, so if you don't speak Arabic or French, you can get away with it. The location was great if you like many dining options. Speaking of which, the breakfast was excellent. The only other thing that I didn't like was the lack of a laundry service. As long as laundry or wifi in rooms is not important, this hotel is an excellent place to stay.

They claim to be a 4 star hotel, what a joke, the building is old and decrepit dark and dismal, lift rarely works meaning lots of stairs to climb, bathrooms are very dated and mouldy, two days in a rom I had to go and request towels as none were left for me (hard pieces of cardboard really). The room was incredibly noisy probably would have been quieter on the actual street, aircon doesn't work very well and beds are hard as rock. Staff were rude and unhelpful on several occasions talking to people in condescending manner, oh and if you were wanting internet don't expect it here. Location is fine if you don't want to be right in the medina or old city but you still have to walk some way to get good internet. Seriously find somewhere else.

Nice hotel and conveniently situated.Lots of nice eating places nearby so glad I only booked breakfast. Hardly used taxi. Walked to most places including the medina, which is about 35 minutes from the hotel. If you like shopping there is a new mall opened which is 5 minutes from the hotel. The mall has a food court so you can easily eat there and it also has Starbuks.

Spent three days there, the Receptionists were VERY helpful and spoke English, The food was Buffet style Breakfast and evening meals, which were excellent tasting, they also had good variety. The rooms were clean, and okay nothing great but expectable, most importantly in 40 decree heat the air conditioning was perfect. They have a pool which is cleaned every morning by their full time pool attendant who also makes sure you have everything you need when your sat around it. If you don't need the luxury of a 5 star Hotel then this one is the one for you.

Only issue was the hot water! It was the second place we stayed in Marrakech on this trip where the hot water was lacking... it wasn't even luke warm. Aside from that, hotel was comfortable, breakfast spread was fairly standard Moroccan offering and a good location in the new town (Gueliz) close to the shops and also only a short walk from the rail station.

Rooms were big and very clean, staff were pleasant, pool was nice. Located about a 30 to 40 minute walk from the main market square. Hard to sleep undisturbed however due to lack of double glazing and excessive road noise/dogs barking/dripping air conditioning unit. Decent rooftop bar just over the road (as not many places sell alcohol). Marrakesh itself is great fun, very exciting, however unless you take a trip outside the city it's probably only good for 4 or 5 days as it's quite a small town.

We stayed at the diwane rabat and couldn't have been more pleased. The staff is incredible. Great personality and very accommodating. The rooms spacious and comfy, the one little issue we had was a leaky faucet but other than that they made our stay very pleasant and will definitely return here. I've traveled around the world and have never met more gracious staff than here.

The hotel is nicely located, but it is a very old hotel and its age is really showing from the lobby, the life, the rooms and everything. The staff are not the best and not very helpful. I was carrying alot of luggage from the car to the lobby when check in and I gave him my passport and the first thing before even saying hello is "I need to see your confrmation papers." So I had to go all the way back to where my car was parked and take that with me. When we got to our room I gave the bell boy 10Diram and he gave me a dirty look and said is 2 luggages here.

Stayed at Diwane end of May 2013. Couldn't be in a better location. Some excellent bars and restaurants very close by. 20 minutes walk down Ave Mohammed 5th to Medina and Jema al F'na square with snake charmers etc. hotel staff extremely helpful and friendly. Nice pool area like a little oasis with palm trees and tortoises. Only negative comment I could make is beds not that comfortable with pillows that were too high and hard. Very clean, however, and reception staff very helpful providing maps and arranging transport. Taxis cheaper if booked through hotel. They also arranged car to take three of us to Atlas Mountains and Berber villages for about £80. Half way to Old town there is an Artisan's market selling better stuff than in the Souks and no hard sell and close by here is KFC and McDonalds if that is your preference. Diwane Hotel is a good choice of Hotel and I would recommend it to anyone

décor was very full on Moroccan, location is ok, near European shops (Zara, Mango)and some great places to eat which were cheaper than eating in the souks restaurants. Room had all the useful stuff like tv, shower etc but their were mosaic tiles coming off the table, decor is a bit dull/dark and needs to be spruced up. Ok place to stay for a short while = we only stayed for two nights. pancakes and omelettes to order for breakfast were the only hot foods available everything else on display was cakes. Did not have lunch or dinner at Diwane, eat out at the local restaurants they are cheaper and you have more variety to choose from. They also do not like you to bring in your own drinks food and have a sign up by the entrance. I would only recommend to a friend for the distance to the souks and the location which is about 25min walk from the main square.

Excellent pool, good choice at breakfast although I longed for some more fresh fruit apart from sliced oranges...how about some apples, bananas, grapefruit ? One regret was there was no tea/coffee making facilities in our room. Lovely staff. firm beds. Negative: we booked for 2 rooms. One for us, the other for our son adjoining ours. This was not available.Eventually partly resolved. He was moved almost next to us but the loo was foul. Subsequently moved to further down our corridor.

Good hotel, not near the medina, but located in a nice place, you can walk 30 minutes to it. good swiming pool for those hottys days of 45degrees. Its an old hotel, but confortable rooms, with good breakfast, people that work in there are extremly nice, and help you in every thing, keep your baggage if you travel to the dessert, and make every thing nice and homely.

I booked this hotel based on the size of the pool and its proximity to another place I had been staying. The hotel is very large and in a convenient place. The buffet breakfast was good (the best selection I'd seen in Morocco), and the pool enjoyable (when trashy Euro-pop wasn't blaring, or kids splashing from every corner). However, this is most definitely not a 4 star hotel, 3 at most (this seems to be standard across Morocco - always subtract one star from what the sites/ hotels tell you). The room I was in was very large, with a queen sized bed and a sofa, and clean, and it was nice and quite. It also had a bar fridge in which made keeping drinks cold possible (I was even able to freeze a few!). One of the big drawbacks was the staff. It was difficult to get any information from the desk staff about the hotel's facilities (there is an on-site restaurant) or much else. If you're only looking for a place to sleep and occasionally take a cooling swim, then this fits the bill. If you're looking for luxury, try elsewhere.

Great base for exploring the New Town, close to the big Westernised malls but also the funkier boutiques like the fabulous Michelle Baconnier. A short cab ride from some of the best and most interesting restaurants in the city. Bar was a real local - three musicians playing traditional music every night, and staff attentive to needs of our 7 year old making him non alcoholic cocktails! The clientele did appear to get a little racy from time to time but nothing serious!
