Our stay at this hotel was absolutely awful. When we arrived, the bathroom was filthy and clearly had not been cleaned. We had to ask the staff to come and clean it, but even after that, it was still in a terrible state stained with yellow marks, mold, and a generally unhygienic feel. There wasn’t even a shower curtain, so every time we showered, the entire bathroom would flood. The room wasn’t any better. The level of cleanliness was appalling we found a used floss pick on the floor, and the bed linens and pillows were stained and yellowish. We also noticed a few bugs around the room. Overall, a horrible experience that I would not wish on anyone. Definitely not a place I’d ever stay at again.

Au calme avec bonne literie et très bon petit déjeuner. Dommage pas d’eau chaude, après 6h de route sous le soleil, une bonne douche aurait fait un grand bien.

Friendly and helpful staff add to the relaxing comfort of this very reasonably priced hotel which is only 3 blocks walk ro the beach and main promenade. I loved my little balcony and the security screen so I could leave door open and get sea breeze during day and night. Breakfasts are plentiful and Karim will help with any queries. A thoroughly lovely experience.

No hot water in the shower. Brought a friend back with me in the evening and was told to kick them out in the middle of the night because they didn’t have a passport with them. I had however booked for two people to stay and was never told that would be necessary when I first got my room keys at the front desk.

Booking not honoured by hotel. Arrived at 11pm to be told no rooms were free despite confirmed booking on expedia. Rude and aggressive staff. Felt unsafe and left quickly to avoid violence. Avoid this place.

EXTREMELY BAD HOTEL. SMELLY washroom! DIRTY towels with yellow stain! NO SOUND RESISTANT as we can hear people walking, talking, opening closet and closing door, all sound throughout the night! I would definitely say look for other hotels as all rooms are quite cheap in Essaouira! This definitely does not worth it! ZERO COMFORTNESS!

I was scheduled to stay at this hotel for the R & R period of three days at the end of my awful KRAS 'Highlights of Morocco' tour. I was offered two rooms, which I immediately took a dislike to. I therefore ditched the tour and my fellow travellers and found a suitable 5* hotel in Essaouira. This would have been too much of an ordeal to follow the same 2* hotel routine with its bland meals.

A bit of a mixed bag. There were both positive and negative aspects of this hotel. First of all the breakfasts were delicious and the morning staff were very kind. There is a nice terrace area outside and a decent sized swimming pool although we didn't use it as it was too cold to do so in December. The things that really spolied our stay were the fact that there was no hot water in our room. We ran the taps for so long and nothing more than tepid water. We mentioned it to the staff downstairs and he just said that the hotel was empty and that we had to run the taps for a while for the water to come through. OK, so we went back upstairs and tried again and whaddya know? There was steaming hot water coming out straight away! The next day the same thing happened. No hot water, went down to tell the staff and they advised us it just takes a while. Went back to the room and hey presto - boiling water coming from the taps immediately. We are not unreasonable people and understand that it is not economical to heat all the water for an empty hotel but why didn't they just tell us this instead of lying? We wouldn't have cared if he had just told us to let him know when we needed hot water so that he could turn on the boiler. We just found it dishonest and it really put us off. The second thing was the live wire in our bedroom (Room 210). The front casing of the lightswitch had been removed leaving an exposed electrified live wire in our room right by the door, so when you come in it would be so easy to fumble for the light and accidentally put your finger in and electrocute yourself - something that happened to my partner! We also advised the hotel staff of this but he just gave us a sympathetic "oh diddums" look and that was that. It is really dangerous and we have attached the photos to this review to prove it. Thirdly, whenever the night staff started there would suddenly be about 5-10 different men (night porter's friends?) all gathered in the lobby and we would be mysteriously disconnected from the Wifi while they were all using their phones and chatting up any female guests who came down looking for a bar of signal. We are in no way in the habit of writing bad reviews (as you can see from my TA account) and we were not exactly expecting the Ritz but we did expect to not be electrocuted and to be able to wash our hands in warm water!!! The hotel was out of season and a bit sad. The fittings in the bathroom were cracked and the whole room was badly designed. The room was large and the bed comfy but we would never go back and couldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

One could forgive that some of the things do not work in the room, such as the TV, but to have to look out onto a brick wall is just unacceptable. Nobody wants to do that and to be just laughed at by the staff was unhelpful. The Dutchthat also stay here seem to have the better rooms and there are some rooms with a view, but ours has no view. The rooms are small and basic. The hotel is located a 30 minutes walk from the medina in a backstreet. I assume Explore booked this because they pay very little for the rooms...but such experiences spoil the holiday. Unless you can secure a room with a small balcony when booking best avoid this place.

Stayed a couple of days here. Location is far from the Old City but that was a good thing for us because the stretch of beach we were on was quiet. The beach is literary 5 minutes walk away. The rooms were clean. The only problem was the space and room I received were insufficient for a family of 4. I didnt get a balcony room so that made space a bit tighter. The staff and owners did their best to accommodate us.

We stayed at the Al Jasera for a few days for the music festival in Essaouira. We booked it with booking.com as usual and arrived by coach from Marakesh. The taxi brought us here from the coach area for 10 dirams. We were met by very friendly staff and shown to our room, a double facing the front with en suite bathroom. Our bed was comfortable, the tv worked, there was plenty of hot water and breakfast available for an extra 5€. We went into town every day, either walked or took the taxi. It was out of the main part of town although we could still hear the music at night. We had a very pleasant stay and would recommend the hotel for middle budget travelers.

Great location, just by the beach, 15 minutes walk from the Medina. I can' t say enough about the staff, some of the nicest people we've met in Morocco. As an exemple, my kids went to reception because there was a scent in the air of fresh made cookies, five minutes later, Zaccaria, this excellent staff member, brought us a plate with a bunch of cookies. Don't miss the Plattinium restaurant from the same owner, some of the best food we had in this Country, great pizzas and an amazing steak.

We booked this over the internet well before our visit. The room was fine, quite large. The room was cleaned and tidied daily. The pool was quite tiny and the hotel's advertising photo must've been taken with a special lens. Wouldn't stay here again as, for a similar price, we could've stayed in a riad in the medina. But then there would have been no pool..... You pay you money and you make your choice. It's about 30 minutes to walk into the medina from this hotel, along the prom. Taxi home cost 8 dihrams. Good to know. Have fun :) Handy for the beach.

We were only here for one night. We had chosen to fly into Essaouria from Luton and then go onto Marrakech. The rooms were a good size. We had a double room and a room across from us for the kids which had a double and single bed in it. There was an upstairs solarium area. We never tried out the pool due to our short stay. The breakfast was typical North African Continental style. We enjoyed it. The hotel is a good 15 to 20 min walk from the medina. It is a really nice walk along a promenade and so it should not put anyone off. This hotel is NOT suitable for anyone who struggles with stairs. There were a couple of small shops selling food and drinks opposite the hotel which we used for water etc. The downside was the noise at night. For some reason it was quite noisy with cars passing by. p.s. WIFI as we say in England is pronounced 'wee-fee', just so that is not lost in translation

Wonderful value family run hotel. Great location for the beach and Medina. The staff could not have been more friendly - very attentive and went out if their way to cater to our every need. The breakfasts were also fantastic. A great value hotel in a fantastic town.

Hotel is nice and clean, close to beach and 15-20 minutes walk from medina. Nearby are some small kiosks and market is about 10-15 minutes walk. Friendly staff. During our stay there was few clients so the restaurant was closed. Pool area is mostly in shade and hot water came after really long wait.

Lots of things not quite as you would hope for if you are used to a 4 star + hotel experience. No soap and body lotion, no tissues or bathrobes, no tea & coffee, slightly tired fixtures and fittings, reluctant shower. You get the picture. So, if you like to spend a lot of time in your room, this is not for you. However, the staff were so helpful and friendly. It was cold and we were given electric heaters that possibly left them out of pocket. Accommodating our choice for breakfast hours moving in and out as the sun shone. The location was great - 3 minutes to the beach - surfing and riding experiences are right here and it is only a 20 minute walk along the beach to the old town. 2 small shops facing the hotel for water etc. So, we got what we paid for.

I arrived to the hotel after a long and humid bus journey alone, during which I'd been fairly ill. The staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating and I enjoyed every minute of my stay. My room was spacious and clean equipped with everything one would need. I enjoyed surfing on the local beach, amazing sunsets and some of the best meals I'd ever eaten. I look forward to returning to Esaouira and would look no further than this hotel.

With a location in walking distance to the beach and medina but not too close to all the busy noise, it's in an ideal location, staff are friendly and helpful, price is good and the rooms aren't luxurious but they're nice tidy clean and everything you need in the windy kite surfing city. Would stay again.

No complaints about my stay there. All was good, clean and nice set up, has a pool and staff speaks good English and was helpful. Except our room wasn't ready when we got there (just that once bad timing maybe?) Despite Location shown on the map, it is still very fast and convenient to get to the old city.

Clean, larger hotel, amidst a lot of traffic, rooms a little bit outdated and the breakfast lacks quality and originality. Personal friendly and the hotel offers a lot of services (cleaning of cloths etc.) Nothing against it, but for a romantic stay there are better options.

We chose this hotel because it is one of the few close to the kitesurfing beach and the more highly recommended places were full. The hotel has little charm but on the positive side staff is quite friendly, everything is very clean, beds are good quality and rooms are big. Downside is the utilitarian feel and general feeling of being slightly run down. Towels are threadbare and smell of bleach, kind of rust streaked shower curtains, etc. Breakfast is copious but consists of fake juice, bad coffee, cheap bread, etc, the same every single day (and accompanied by the same bad soft rock on a loop). In a word, you get what you pay for and maybe even more but come here only if you're looking for a place to sleep rather than a place to hang out.

You definitely get what you pay for. The hotel isn't in the best location - it is near the beach, but the medina and all the restaurants are about a 15 min walk. But it is clean, reasonably priced, and has decent service.

The hotel is a short walk from the beach about 7 minutes. It is about a 15 minute walk to the main bustling shopping/restaurant area. The hotel room was kept clean every day, the food for dinner was lovely and the breakfast was just right. The staff were very attentive and helpful. The surrounding area of the hotel (outside on the street not in the hotel) is under construction at the moment so very rubbly when you go outside to walk about as they are building alot so maybe by next year it will be all new. this would be the only downside. The pool area is small but the beach is near so this did not bother me. I would definitely stay here again.

Quite comfortable place for a non-luxury stay. We had a nice room and a comfortable bed. But, we were dissapointed about the location of the hotel. We chose this hotel because at the map on Hotels.com it was supposed to be placed beside the Supratours stop and very close to the old town, but it was really 2 km south from the displayed location. Be careful about that when booking!
