Had another amazing trip at the Melia Koh Samui amazing hotel with the most amazing staff. I would like to make a special thank you to Bau especially for looking after us so well as always during our stay he is an asset to the team and does his job so well he is like part of our family he goes above and beyond to look after us during our stay and I cannot thank him enough for everything he really is the best and Melia should be so proud of him.

We had a wonderful holiday, we stayed 11 nights in a Grand Level Suite room 432. The staff at the resort made the holiday for us, they were all so pleasant and helpful, always smiling. Impossible to remember all the names but special thanks to Baw at the beach, he was amazing, we always managed to get beach beds and umbrellas, thanks Baw for looking after us so well and for being so welcoming, Melia is very lucky to have him working there. And a thank you to Yao too for his beach service. To Looknan at Breezes for her attention, we had a great night and really good food at the Fireshow and Bar B Q, thank you. Lisa for her chats and organisation, she is terrific, a great asset to the hotel. To Fang for organising the decorations in our room and for keeping it so spotless, thank you. To Diana and Vam and Lucy at the swim up pool. To the ladies in the Level Lounge, thank you. We had breakfast there most mornings and it was very good, lots of choices and the service was good. And thank you to the team driving the buggies for bringing us from the front desk by buggy to our room and v.v., they were always available and prompt, just terrific service. The hotel did have a lot of guests with young babies, it is a family resort, we were an older couple but loved it and would return in a heartbeat. Loved swimming in the sea, the beach is lovely, the sea did come up quite a bit when the tide was in but the water was so beautiful to swim in and so safe. Our room was huge, plenty of space for a family in it. There are plenty of resturants in the near vicinity both on the beach and outside in the small town of Choeng Mon. We didnt find it noisy, just happy sounds of people enjoying themselves, we love the beach so did not sit by the pool. Thank you Melia Koh Samui!

What an amazing holiday. The hotel was beautiful and clean. We levelled up and had a swim up pool which was so worth it. All the staff were attentive and couldnโt do enough for you - and they are always so happy. Itโs situated slightly outside the main hustle and bustle but there is free transport to and from Chewang and there is also transport to the night market at Fishermanโs Village for 100THB per person. If you want to taxi, the staff will arrange that for you. We did this and took the taxi driverโs card. All we had to do was send him a message or call and he picked us up from wherever we were. The hotel is on the beach and is surrounded by places to eat, but the hotel restaurant is actually really good and reasonably priced. A big shout out to Tamarind, Kim, Queen and Sweet Pea for looking after us. Would definitely recommend this as a good place to stay.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Meliรก Koh Samui, especially in Boat House 17 with the swim-up access. The room was beautiful, private, and incredibly relaxing. Being able to step right into the pool from our room made the entire experience feel luxurious and peaceful. What truly made our stay exceptional, though, was the staff. Selena, Pail, K, Hun, and Tamarind were all so kind, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout our time there. From assisting with our bags upon arrival, to keeping our room spotless, to answering our questions and helping with information, they went above and beyond to make sure we felt cared for. Every interaction was warm and welcoming, and itโs clear that hospitality is something they take pride in. We are so grateful for the way they made our stay feel special. We would absolutely return and highly recommend this beautiful resort to anyone visiting Koh Samui.

Provided wonderful accommodation in one of their converted rice boats with direct entry into pool. Beach is stunning bay but can get busy. Eating at night on the beach a bit special, great food, with top entertainment. The Level was so well run by the team and great pre drinks in the evening. Will hope to return - love the airport.

This is a absolutely beautiful resortl. The location is just the perfect distance from the busier areas of the island. This resort checked all of the boxes for what I hope for on a holiday. My stay at Melia has set the new bar for what I could hope for when traveling. Special thanks to the staff for trying to make my stay special. They did that and more. We stayed at the Melia during Christmas. Pros: โThe location of the hotel is excellent, with restaurants near by and shop. - Staff is amazing. Super friendly with the kids (Auto and Keng- thank you!). - Kids club: although small, staff is really great with the kids, itโs clean and neat and offers great activities for the kids (some free of charge, some paid). -Amazing beach! Itโs not private, but perfect sand and turquoise water- really what you imagine when thinking of Thailand. -Breakfast: we booked a suite which is part of the โLevelโ and therefore had breakfast at the โLevelโ Lounge- nice and quiet. They had a nice ร la cart menu as an addition to a small buffet. The waiting staff during breakfast at the level was outstanding. Only issue is we experienced long wait times on two occasions. -Thereโs a nice view of the beach from the Breeze restaurant. -There room we booked was large and spacious. - The hotel itself is nicely designed with the small lagoon sweeping across the hotel and its various buildings. - The food served at the Breeze restaurant is varied and tasty. Cons: -The hotel seems a bit run down and in need of refurbishing if to be considered 5 stars: * Wooden floors in the bedroom creaked like that in a building built 100 years ago. * The room needs maintenance: you see dust built up in the spot lights in the bathroom, the shower overflows quickly and we found water gathered outside it after every shower. * In several areas tiles were missing in the pool spanning around the rooms and even in the main pool- extremely painful when you donโt notice and step on it (see picture). - The water in the main pool was murky ever day when we swam there- even during an early morning swim before there were others swimming in the pool. - We walked past โhouse boatโ rooms on the way to our building- there was almost always a bad sewage smell there. - The equipment in the gym was minimal and most of it old. The space itself was also tiny. Would be great to improve this. - On our last day we didnโt have much time left before we needed to head out. We had prepaid and had quite a bit of money open and wanted to use it. We went to the Breeze restaurant and quickly ordered 2 desserts a drink and one main to go. We asked while ordering how long it would take and they reassured us - 20 min. After 30 min waiting, we asked what is happening and they said they would now start preparing the dishes. We left without it. That unfortunately ended out experience on a less positive note.

Das Hotel ist wirklich toll um erholsame Badeferien zu verbringen. Die Bootsuite ist toll ausgestattet und der Zimmerservice war super. Auch Wรผnsche wie zusรคtzliche Badetรผcher wurden immer direkt erfรผllt. Das โThe Levelโ Angebot ist sehr gut, angefangen bei der sehr freundlichen Rezeption und dem sehr freundlichen Team im entsprechenden Restaurant. Wir wurde jeden Tag mit Namen begrรผsst und haben uns dort sehr Wohlgefรผhlt, auch die kleinen Snacks waren sehr lecker und die Cocktails abends waren gut. Unser Flug ging erst am Abend und obwohl wir kein Late Check Out hatten , konnten wir aber mir bis zum Schluss am Strand bleiben. Wir bekamen einen Zimmer nahe der Rezeption zum Duschen.
Cons: Der Zimmerservice war gut aber die Dusche hรคtte zwischendrin etwas besser gereinigt werden kรถnnen. Das Hotel hat Regel wie z.B das am Strand nicht geraucht werden darf aber wรคhrend unseres Aufenthalts wurde diese Regel nicht immer konsequent umgesetzt.

The location was quiet and pleasant with restaurants and massages around the hotel. The place is clean, beautiful, the staff is welcoming and very nice, they respond to requests. When we arrived, they gave us a room that smelled of mold and wet wood. The next day I asked to move and they moved us without a problem. The breakfast is varied and delicious and there is plenty of seating and high chairs for babies, including a fee. The room is large and nice. A 10-minute drive from the beach in Tswang

I gave 4/5 because of the hotel location - 15-20 minutes from the Chaweng and about 30 minutes from the fisherman's village. The hotel is very beautiful, the staff are very kind and profesional. I like the pool, I also liked the breakfast (they even have a Kosher pan for the omlets) A special thank to K and Kord for your help :)

This was our second time at the resort and it was even better this time than the last. The location is excellent with lots of amenities both onsite and along the beach and the facilities are fantastic. Restaurant food is great quality and pool service is always fast and attentive. Rooms are spacious and always extremely clean. Fresh towels delivered to your room every night and anything you need just a phone call away. Not too far from Fishermanโs Village and other attractions with lots to do for both grown ups and the children locally. We need to say a special thanks to Baw who goes continually above and beyond to provide anything we might possibly need. Heโs a special guy who welcomes you with open arms and looks out for your every need. Our daughter cut her hand one day and needed first aid, she immediately asked for Baw who was exceptional helping her and looking after her in the days that followed. And finally to our friend Back from the pool bar, what a guyโฆ we had such a laugh with him and he ensured we had everything we needed. Looking forward to returning again next year for our Christmas break.

Beautiful hotel, best buffet. Staff very helpful. I had stayed on the island 4 times now and enjoyed this hotel the best. Looknam was happy and helpful in the beach restaurant. Aom very helpful and friendly. But all the hotel staff front K, Daniel and another driver I canโt remember name but he was very helpful when checking in and upgrading room. Made our stay very relaxing. Recommend the hotel. For nice beach and relaxing stay.

Travelled with my family including a one year old baby and 2 seniors and we absolutely loved the whole experience! The staff is very friendly and helpful. They really helped out in every single way possible to make our stay comfortable. The kids entertainment is fun and kids are busy the whole day. In the beach bar/restaurant, they helped out so much with the kiddos especially a girl named looknam. Overall, a truly fun and relaxing experience!

I chose Koh Samui mainly for the beach and the sea, and after reading many reviews, I expected much more. Unfortunately, Meliรก Koh Samui is not the right choice if the beach experience is important to you. The beach is extremely narrow, with only about three very crowded rows of sunbeds, placed so close together that the first row is practically in the water. This is the dirtiest beach I have experienced so far, which is simply unacceptable for a 5-star hotel. To make things worse, the beach shower drain was clogged, leaving dirty water around. Beach service is weak and inconsistent, which further takes away from the experience. I will not comment much on other aspects, as the beach was the main reason for my trip. Breakfast and rooms seem fine, but they do not justify a long flight from Europe if you are coming here for crystal-clear water and a beautiful beach. Overall, this hotel did not meet expectations for its category or reputation.

Despite this being a larger hotel than we would normally choose, the staff made the stay feel very personal. The staff were attentive, engaging and always seemed to be happy. We had a Boat Suite with sea view which was very nice, the only downside being it was next to the main pool which could be a little noisy at times. However, as it had its own deck to lounge on this really wasnโt too much of an issue, particularly as we were away from the room at the busiest times. The food that we had in the Level was first rate, and the whole Level experience was very pleasant. We did not eat in the main restaurant so canโt comment on that aspect but had a long chat with Luca, one of the managers of the restaurant who was very nice. The highlight was undoubtedly the staff. Despite our stay only being for three nights it seemed that they almost immediately recognised you and always spoke and remembered when you were leaving. Lisa, and her team, Queen, Keng, Kim, Bell, pink and Satay, were truly excellent. Customer service at its best.

Wow wow wow!! Stayed here 11 nights but extended to 13 (would have stayed longer if we could) we had boat suite 28 and had the sun all day on the top deck. What made the experience was the amazing staff!!!!!! They are a massive credit to the hotel! Lisa & Kim are the best!! Polite, professional, kind and really nice lovely people!! Thanks to bell, queen, pink, keng and tamarind, all amazing staff and went above and beyond! We will miss this hotel and staff very much! And canโt not include Baw! Great organiser, so helpful and very professional! Great man!! Thank you!

I stayed in a deluxe room on a bed-and-breakfast basis, but next time I'd do all-inclusive as the food is lovely. I cannot wait to go back to Thailand and the Melia Hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful Hotel Melia. The location is stunning, with a peaceful atmosphere and breathtaking views, but what truly made our experience special was the staff. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, and attentive from the moment we arrived. We booked this hotel to get away from the chaos of Christmas, the reviews were good and when we arrived we were not disappointed, rooms were lovely, clean and very well placed within the complex. Anyone who stays will be welcomed round the pool by Baw a really friendly and helpful member of the staff, in fact, I could not fault any member of staff that we encountered. We paid for access to โthe levelโ which provides drinks and canapรฉs at certain times of the day which was a real bonus. One word of warning though, Christmas in Samui comes with the chance of a monsoon which we did experience but that didnโt detract from the service we were offered.

My experience at the Melia was nothing short of perfection. From the hotel grounds, pool, pool 'canal' and beach, to the decor, the food and the amazing service, everything was of the utter highest quality. The staff were so friendly and helpful, such as Auto, Baw and Matteo, that I felt the sort of comfort anyone would want from a holiday. A big 'thank you' to Natty at front desk; she was so welcoming and helpful throughout my entire stay. I'd also like to thank the gentleman who worked at the hotel gates and helped me cross the busy road every morning. I will definitely be returning at some point in the future!

Staff are always helpful and friendly and approachable nice gym and pool room. Swimming pool is lovely. Could do with a few more sun lounges but there are plenty on the beach. Had an absolutely amazing time at the the Melia Koh Samui. The hotel is just amazing!! Very relaxing holiday cannot fault a single thing. Beds are so comfortable, food is absolutely perfect. We enjoyed the Christmas Eve dinner so much everything you could think of. The pool and gardens are beautifully maintained and always clean. The hotel sits on Choeng Mon beach which is beautiful and calm, with lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. All the staff are so friendly and cannot do enough for you, special mention goes to Baw who is an absolute asset to The Melia, he is very friendly and always ready to chat to you about information or anything he can help you with but still remains a true professional. Well done Baw !! Would return to this hotel again and again.

Amazing Hotel, Amazing Rooms and the food is great too. However, the daytime reception staff are just rude and obnoxious. At check-in it was quite smooth and I didnโt have any issues. However the following day after having an amazing dinner at their restaurant I received a letter to my room asking me to go to reception as I had exceeded my deposit amount and we always have to keep a credit which wasnโt made clear at the beginning even though they knew about my dinner at reception before hand as I had pre booked for a romantic dinner. When I go to reception I stood there for 5 minutes before being acknowledged by 1 of the 3 staff. I advised her someone will be collecting my laundry for dry cleaning and I received a letter to make a payment to increase my deposit. She asked one of the concierge to place the laundry in storage, I helped him to do that as there was a bit, I then came back after 30 seconds or that, and all 3 receptionists are checking in 1 family of 5. I am not sure why 3 people need to check in 3 adults and 2 children, but I stood there and waited. The wait lasted for 20 minutes, the concierge kept telling one of the staff that someone else is waiting, he waved his hand off and a couple of minutes later came over to ask how he can help. At this point I was furious, I have been sat there for 20 minutes waiting to pay because they asked me too. I explained to him that I was there before the family of 5 I was acknowledged and then it was like I wasnโt there, I explained I was there for 5 minutes before I was even acknowledged, too that the response was โwe didnโt do it on purposeโ brilliant - Iโm glad I was acknowledged by accident and then I waited 20 minutes because a family of 5 needs 3 reception staff to check them in. At this point the staff just walked off. Another lady approached me and I told her to not send any more letters to my room and I will make a payment at the end of my stay because I had a booking with my wife that I was now late for. Her response was cold and was โit needs to be settled or you wonโt be able get to add any expenses to your roomโ shame on the staff. Melia hotel in Koh Samui is nice but there are a lot of nice hotels in Koh Samui and most of them will be respectful and provide much better service. I would advise to stay elsewhere.

Stayed with my wife for 3 nights on vacation, and the hotel atmosphere was great, very relaxing and pleasant. We got a good deal from the Thai Tiew Thai event, so it was good value for us. The hotel is located close to the airport. Super easy to travel. The room was clean and we received a small chocolate after mentioning that it was our second anniversary. Khun Pop took very good care of us during check-in. She was super friendly and attentive, and escorted us to the room with care, really appreciated. The hotel was quiet, and there was no disturbance during the night. We had dinner at The Breeza Beach and were lucky to catch happy hour for a couple of drinks. The food was superb in my opinion, I ordered the seafood spaghetti and croquette, and both were very tasty, same like I had in Europe. We also had a short chat with Khun Luca, he was friendly, and I hope he enjoys his training there. Khun Auto was also extremely friendly and helpful. He recommended a great local restaurant, and it was superb. We also met Khun Fai (Wedding) and Khun Chloe (Marketing), whom my wife had contacted previously. During check-out, everything went smoothly. Iโm sorry I forgot the name of the staff who assisted us, she was friendly and always smiling. Khun Chloe also gave us a gift, truly appreciated. Overall, it was a great experience, and we would definitely come back again if we have the chance.

Cons: We were in block 5 which was a LONG walk to the beach a lot longer than I expected. . It was a very very long way away. The other issue was no beach towels at the pool or beach. So on multiple occasions had to walk back to my room (the hitch was a long way away) to retrieve. Just a lot of wasted time.

The hotel is good but does not offer real 5-star service, in my view. Breakfast is also very good but lacks a bit variety, especially in comparison with some other hotels we visited recently. Beach location is nice, but the pool area can get pretty busy. Many families with small children, so an adult only area with pool would be greatly appreciated. Good food in the restaurant and very friendly staff.

Our stay at the Melia hotel in Koh Samui was excellent. It was all very clean and had very good facilities. Particularly noteworthy was the extremely helpful and friendly staff. Didn't make note of all the names, but like to highlight Rainbow who was at reception. She was amazing in helping to organise a doctor, extend our stay and allow us to call the necessary companies. We did a cooking class with Tik one of the chef's, which was great fun. We would highly recommend staying there!

It didnโt matter which area of the hotel we visited, all were helpful and welcoming. Room - very spacious with a huge king size bed, nespresso pods, huge balcony with a bath + day bed and blinds so you can get some privacy. Powerful rail shower and complimentary robes and slippers. Room was always cleaned to a high standard. I would highly recommend upgrading to this room as the balcony was a pleasant retreat during the heat of the day. Location - 15 minutes from the airport with plenty of things to do and places to eat nearby. Direct access to the beach and pool / beach staff were extremely helpful with umbrellas and food/drink requests. Facilities - loved the complimentary morning yoga class, two beautiful pools, hotel & garden were constantly being maintained by staff so the hotel is always kept to a high standard. Huge gym which is open 24/7 and a snooker room. Breakfast / food - we only had breakfast at the hotel but it was amazing. I would recommend the French toast! Perfect mix between trying traditional Thai items for breakfast and European food. Abundance of fresh smoothies, fruits and salads too! The staff were very helpful and friendly and on hand for any drink request whether ice coffee or green tea. There was some variation in what was offered each day too! Staff - every member of staff we had the pleasure of encountering were extremely warm, welcoming, friendly and really helpful. They always had a smile on their faces, very lovely atmosphere!

Melia is a fabulous resort with all staff being very accommodating. To mention a few, Rainbow,K, Miew,, Mattio and of course Baw๐. There are of course others whose names we did not get. We had a fabulous time and when it came time to check out ( 6am) Melia ensured we had someone to collect our laggage and us๐. Also as we were missing breakfast they organised a breakfast for us upon check out ( courtsey of the hotel) before the taxi picked us up for the airport. There are some great restraunts outside of the hotel and also plenty of massage options, which we availled of every evening๐. This is a resort that i would definitely recommend and come back to

Ribbon, Dada, and Gigi were all super friendly and made the kids feel so happy. There were also lots of fun activities, and Khun Pla and Khun Mui did such a great job entertaining everyone. We had a small issue with the WiFi one day, and big thanks to Khun Pep for helping resolve it quickly and a special thanks to Khun Siri for taking such good care of us and being so helpful throughout our stay. Truly a great experience!

Having arrived at the rather uninspiring reception, we were greeted warmly with cold scented towels and and a refreshing welcome drink. Check-in was friendly, fast and efficient. Within minutes we were being whisked to our suite in a club car around a perimeter roadway. We then had a short walk past the lagoon pool and to the top floor where we were shown our magnificent suite 431. To say this suite was impressive would be a gross under estimate. It was large, had a walk through wardrobe, huge comfortable bed, amazing bathroom with twin sinks, bath and huge shower. The next room contained a massive day bed, dining table for four and huge doors onto the magnificent balcony. The views from our room had to be some of the best from any room, looking out onto mature palms and greenery, the 700 metre lagoon pool and pool bar was below our suite and inner views of the unique boat rooms of converted rice boats from Bangkok were magnificent. Over our eight days we daily popped into the 'Level lounge' for snacks, drinks or just a chat with the many amazing Level staff. Each evening we would join other guests at the level lounge to enjoy cocktails expertly mixed by the staff, hot and cold sweet and savoury offerings which changed daily. The Level outside deck was a wonderful place from which to admire the hotel pool and beautiful white sandy beach. After eight days the fabulous staff in the Level lounge greeted us enthusiastically and even got to know what drinks we would order, my fiancรฉ Mark even coined the nickname 'Mr Mai-tai' which was hilarious. Names MUST be mentioned as so many Level staff helped make our stay so very special, so could I mention; Pin, Lisa, Sachi, King, Seen, Queen and Maya. Apologies if I missed anyone as I tried to remember everyone, but those cocktails have a lot to answer for! To sum up, this magnificent hotel is truly beautiful, immaculately clean and well maintained. Our suite was outstanding inside and out with superb views of the manicured grounds, The lagoon pool is probably one of the best things we have ever encountered winding through the tropical gardens for 700 meteres. Contrary to many reviews we had watched you can easily access this wonder from the many and numerous steps around the lagoon, regardless of your rooms location. Breakfast was fresh and lovely, made to order Thai dishes at live cooking stations, and everything else you could ask for. The hotel location for us was perfect, next to a beautiful sandy beach, warm shallow sea and a vast choice of excellent dine out options, Its also a very fast transfer to the airport. Would I stay here again and recommend this hotel to friends - HELL YES. We look forward to returning in future years.

We decided to try the Thai Cooking class at Meliรก Koh Samui, and it was worth it! It was really easy to book the class online using the Meliรก's mobile app. The resort's staff were very helpful confirming the booking, and letting us select the courses from a list. Everything was well prepared by the time we showed up and we got dressed up as real kitchen staff.Chef Tik was a great host explaining every steps of the preparation. He showed us the typical spices and their use, but encouraged us to season the courses as we liked them. The setting was very warm and welcoming, and super clean ant hygienic which we liked very much. There were more staff cleaning the the preparation area making the whole experience very professional. Special thanks goes to Pang making pictures of us while we were preparing the food. We tasted all the finished courses making this a really amazing experience, but be warned to arrive hungry to that class :-). You can even take the unfinished food away at the end. Certificate of completion and an USB key containing the recepies have been provided after finishing the class. This was a really five โญ experience.

Fabulous resort to end our Thailand holiday with friends from the initial welcoming orientation by K all staff were friendly and helpful โฆ they obviously enjoy their work as they were always happy .. check in staff were most helpful when we had an airline issue. We spent loads of time enjoying the facilities and spent loads of time in our swim out pool area laughing and singing along to music. The slide provided a few giggles for us too. Loved the location with plenty of options around from cafes, massage, 7-eleven. Beach area was lovely too. Would definitely consider revisiting Koh Samui and the Meliรก.

We stayed for 8 days at the Melia in July/august. All the staff Lisa, Mamai, Kent, Queen, Tamarind & Pikkie were all attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Always smiling and eager to please with suggestions for restaurants and things to do. The hotel was gorgeous, we stayed in the sea view boat, very nice but no actual view from the room only from the top balcony. The room had a lot of space and nice fittings etc but dark and closed off to any natural light which was very disappointing for rooms that boast sea views. The main reason I didnโt give the resort a 5 Star was that the pool staff had no control over the rude disgusting guests that would go to the pool at 6am and reserve seats for the day, for the majority of the time they werenโt even there. The hotel should be implementing a policy of the seats are unoccupied for an hour the towels will be removed. In addition for couples (like us) that think youโre going to get a relaxing holiday at this resort think again, it was full of screaming winging kids and teenagers everywhere. The parents just let them go and did not care. We paid for the executive package to eat breakfast in the โmemberโ only section thinking that are would be too expensive for families, we were wrong. Makes me sound like someone precious however I think itโs common courtesy for people to pick up after themselves - not touch my belongings on a table and move them so they can push tables together (maybe just ask next time) or when kids are jumping in the pool next to people that a minding their own business (and yes we did move again and again to avoid). This sadly put a dampener on our holiday. I recently came back from a trip to Hawaii at the Sheraton - now this was a literally kid free fantastic holiday. I wonโt be going back to Koh Samui, I feel for the beautiful people there, the cheap lifestyle just attracts people that think they are better than anyone and treat the beautiful Thai people like second rate citizens

1st time to Thailand and would definitely return. Staff are so friendly and respectful, Baw is a legend big smile big personality and just a genuine guy. Thanks Baw. We have been lucky and had perfect weather considering it being storm season. The hotel is clean and tidy, and our Boat suite was fantastic. A thing to know, there is a pot with water in it and a wooden ladle to rinse your feet off before going in side. Wear slippers provided. We hope to return over the next few years. we had the most amazing time stay at Melia hotel, we enjoyed the amazing pool, with a beach view, very family friendly. excellent staff service from checking in to the buffet breakfast staff, the room service, always refilling towels and leaving pleasant surprises in the room such as chocolate covered grapes. we were warmly welcomed by a staff member named K who warmly said hello and greeted us every time he saw us, K also gave us excellent travel tips on his home island in Koh Samui and made our experience a 10/10. i highly recommend this hotel, we are sad to say goodbye, and hope to be back again in the future.

Typically whenever I travel I expect just a trip. Mostly focusing on the place Iโm going and what Iโm going to do there. Melia was different however, and felt like the first time I truly had an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived from the airport, we knew that this would be something else entirely. We were greeted promptly by K who helped us with our bags and welcomed us. He was prompt and very friendly. We then sat down with Rainbow to consult about our stay and receive our room cards. They both already made us feel welcome and brought us tea and cool towels which were VERY welcome after coming from a total of 15 hours of flying. Throughout our stay we were able to learn some much about Thailand and the incredible Thai culture. It became clear very quickly to us that the highlight wasnโt the environment (even though it was outstanding), or the food (which was heavenly) or even the drinks (which were a perfect compliment to everything else) but it was the people. The staff at Melia made it an unforgettable experience through talking with us and really getting to know us through our stay. Theyโre some of the most genuine, wonderful people weโve ever met and we hope to be back as soon as possible. Melia is extraordinarily lucky to have people like this and we felt fortunate to see them on our trip. Cons: We were bumped from our room due to construction works, which sadly also were timed with a large corporate booking. Our booking was made 7 months in advance...our booking was changed 3 days prior. While the staff at the front desk did all they can, the decision by the hotel management to allocate all rooms to the corporate booking over ours was very disappointing. As was letting the same group smoke at the pool side bar over the children, enjoying the slide in a well marked no smoking area. The wait staff, cleaning team, chefs and bar staff were all fabulous, I can't fault them. This overall rating relates directly to business decisions made by the Management

Beautiful hotel accessible to the beach and close to chaweng (10 min). The room and the breakfast service were 10/10 but the most memorable part of our stay was the warm and friendly staff. They spent time teaching us Thai and even helped my partner out when we got lost and separated on scooters after the beach and he had no phone, money or room card. Thanks Auto, and to the female waitress at the Breeza Bar who taught us some really helpful Thai!! We will definitely be coming back.

Location is exceptional, a lot of restaurants around hotel. We had a room with direct access to the pool and Level access lounge (almost all day snacks, fruits). Breakfast has variety of food, fruits, pastry and drinks (tea, coffee, soft drinks, fresh juices). Staff are incredibly friendly and helpfull. Special thanks to Tamarind, K and all guys for making our stay lovely! Beach and sand is clear, there are also beach view cafes. Visited several yoga classes and liked. Hope to come back in a while.

The staff were fantastic, particularly Keng and Lisa. Level access was great - The team did everything they could to make our stay really enjoyable. This stay was part of our honeymoon and the extra touches provided were really appreciated. Loved the location on Choeng Mon beach.
Cons: There were renovations taking place during our stay which we hadnโt been made aware of. There was some noise because of this and also an area with a bad odour which was probably related to the works.

We stayed at this hotel in September 2025 with our family and couldnโt have been happier. The room was large, very comfortable, and had everything we needed. The whole place is beautiful, well kept, calm, and simply pleasant to be in. What really made the stay special was the staff. Everyone we met was friendly, helpful, and genuinely cared about the guests. A big thank you to the LEVEL Lounge team, who were always welcoming and made us feel right at home. Special thanks to Tamarind, Seen, Lisa, Nitty, Queen, Keng, Maya, and the friendly gentleman who cleaned the tables (unfortunately I didnโt catch his name). You were all fantastic. We have been visiting Koh Samui since 2004, and the whole island gets busier and more developed every year. Choeng Mon is one of the quieter, less commercialised area of the Island. Making this a great area to relax, and more traditional Koh Samui. Meliรก is located right by the Choeng Mon beach and is right in the centre of this village. We started coming here in 2007 when there were no pavements and the total was called the Imperial BoatHouse. The hotel is superb, the rooms are large, air con is good, the breakfast is plentiful and the gardens and pools are some of the best! But what really makes this hotel are the staff! BAW will help with anything from transporting items to your room, organising ticket to Muay Thai, and just a great waiter that cares. He actually remembers you! Ben and Pang are superb at breakfast, always asking if ok and getting drinks for you. They also responded well to some rude customers. Well done! Keep it up. The hotel is a great choice, in a great area and taxiโs are very easy to obtain. The local restaurants are also cheaper than Chaweng. Food and drink for 2 people averaging 1200Baht. Taxi Costs: 400Baht to and from airport. 500Baht to and from Chaweng. I highly recommend Meliรก Koh Samui. The pool access rooms are great, and the boat suites are very unique. The whole experience is 5 stars.

Itโs a beautiful hotel with wonderfully friendly and helpful staff. The breakfasts were delicious, with so much variety and even cute plates and cutlery for small children. The amenities were fantastic and we were able to have a really relaxing time. Baw was especially helpful and gave great recommendations for where to go on the island, including the Fishermanโs market which was a great experience. Will be back again!

We had a fantastic stay at the Melia Hotel! We booked a room with pool access, which was perfect โ especially convenient while our baby was sleeping. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, and the room was spacious, comfortable, and well equipped. The entire resort is stunning, surrounded by lush greenery that makes you feel like youโre in a peaceful jungle bubble. Itโs also very family- and kid-friendly, and the cocktails were excellent!
Cons: The only downsides were the mosquitoes around the rooms and that the hotel restaurant was quite expensive. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay and would happily return!

Melia is very pretty and chill in general. The architecture is relatively new and not dated, really nice and relatively open. Baw has been our host for the past week here in Koh Samui at the Melia Resort to celebrate a special birthday for one of our group. The hotel is located perfectly in a very quiet location by a great beach, near a nice street with restaurants, 7 eleven and massage places, as well as short ride to the Chaweng from one side and the fishermanโs market on the other side. The property is well maintained, the main pool is big enough with a direct approach to the beach and nice place to sit. By the beach there are several places to eat or by merchandises. And very nice beach for family with young kids. The room were big and comfortable but above all the service was super welcoming. Since the hotel is quite big, there are many place to sit and relax.

From the outdoor pools โ so many to choose from โ to the endless lawns and quiet spots along the โriverโ of Meliรก, everything feels beautifully designed for relaxation. Our room was stunning โ well designed, luxurious yet homey. We really appreciated the peacefulness; you could barely hear other guests thanks to the excellent sound isolation. The beach is breathtaking: soft white sand, crystal-clear turquoise water, and views that look straight out of a postcard. We especially loved the variety and quality, though consistency between orders and timing could be slightly improved. And finally, the staff โ WOW! Every single person we met, from housekeeping to the front desk and The Level team, went above and beyond with genuine warmth and care. The hotel is super kids-friendly โ theyโve really thought of everything, from providing kidsโ plates and cutlery at mealtimes to a fantastic soft play area that kept our little one entertained for hours. The beach is clean and well-kept, and the facilities throughout the property are modern, spotless, and very comfortable. The staff are warm, welcoming, and always happy to help, which really made our stay extra special.
Cons: The only downside was the towel policy. Guests have to bring the large towels to the pool or beach, which feels a bit inconvenient for a resort of this size, and not very hygienic either. It would be so much better if towels were provided directly at the pool, or at least if bags were offered to carry them more easily.

Fai and Paul were excellent. Fai help organize our wedding which was held on beach. The gazebo was incredibly decorated with flowers and lights. We had dinner on the beach under the stars in gazebo. It was so beautiful. Paul helped us coordinate transportation for a 7 hour island adventure exploring the island. Kord was super helpful and attentive to help us manage our bags during our stay. My 8 month old daughter loved the kids play area, which had a baby room. There were plenty of activities for the older kids too. I would highly recommend and definitely want to stay here again

The Melia on Choeng Mon Beach in Koh Samui is a wonderful find. The beach is beautiful, with lovely sunsets, this was my 3rd stay at the hotel, and I will be returning for Christmas. The staff here truly stand out. Having stayed in many five-star hotels, I can say the team at the Melia is exceptional. Theyโre attentive and go out of their way to help with everything, from helping me sort out my mobile connection to helping me order UK drinks for my autistic son, moving beds between rooms, and assisting with laundry. Honestly anything they can help with they will. The rooms are fantastic, and the restaurantโs food is excellent. My four children and I had a great time, and weโre excited to come back for Christmas. I want to give a special thank you to BAW, who works by the pool. BAW is always ready to help with anything we needed, making our days even better with his friendly attitude. If you stay at this hotel , you will know how he is . Another big thank you to VAN, who was incredibly helpful and always there for us. And to ERNESTO, the hotel manager, thank you for making our stay so memorable with your thoughtful approach. And giving us an amazing send off . The kidsโ club staff also deserve a shoutout for keeping my lively kids entertained! The Melia Koh Samui is a special place, and weโre looking forward to returning. The Level Suite was a very nice and luxury room. The breakfast and lounge snacks were of high quality. The staff was very nice at Melia. I would like to highlight 3 people from the staff, while all others were also very nice and helpful. Keng at the Level Lounge - He is mixing the cocktails, serving drinks and he was so nice to our kids. Meeting him and his smile at breakfast in the morning already ensured a happy start in the day. Baw at the pool restaurant - He was smiling all the time, he is a good spirit there, making everyone feel comfortable and valued as a customer. He just memorized like everyones name, greeted everyone. You can just see he loves his job. And staff like Baw just create this amazing atmosphere. Runi was also always looking out for us all the time, greeted us at lounge breakfast and helped me to look at other room types so that I can recommend them to my friends and family. She also gave us a very nice farewell at checkout. Such employees are an asset and differantiate the hotel in a very positive way. Hope the management can keep that high standard of employees. The pool is clean, warm and very nice with lots of options to sit and lay down around. It is also kids friendly. Food and drinks at the pool were excellent - try the mango shake. There was also a mango shake. The kids club was nice, my kids loved it there. House keeping was excellent, room was always clean. We also loved all the green, the plants all around that were well maintained. While there were other families with kids, overall the noise level was not too high and the nights were quiet. The hotel is located very well. The beach has nice sand and is very clean. Arount the hotel are many small restaurants, massage shops, cafes, 7/11 etc. Also there are many nice beach restaurants around. While the stay was on the upper end in terms of room rate I think the value for money was still okay. I can recommend staying at the hotel and would return in the future.

A nice hotel with a few areas of improvement. We enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is beautiful set on a beach. Our room was well appointed and modern. The pools were beautiful and warm which was great. The club lounge was very good breakfast and cocktails. Service could be a little slow when busy but we enjoyed the Level. Only one restaurant was open (for lunch and dinner) during our stay which got very repetitive very quickly. If you stay in peak season they might have 2 open. We stayed 5 nights so only ate there twice. We really disliked the hotelโs silly towel policy. The hotel only gives 2 towels per room and there is nowhere to change them. You can only get new towels by calling room service. In dozens or resorts I have never had such a customer unfriendly policy (dressed up as environmental). To not even offer anywhere to change a towel at a 5* resort pool is crazy. We likely would not return due to this policy as it was annoying having to constantly walk back to room, call and wait, just to change a towelโฆ It was such a bad policy we saw guest from our hotel go to the (much cheaper) hotel next door to get towels when swimming at the beach. They should fix this guest unfriendly policy.

We were lucky enough to spend 7 days at the Melia and had the most relaxing time in this beautiful hotel! Our room was the level access pool room. Spacious and immaculate the air con was super efficient and 4 bottles of water supplied daily. The actual pool area is beautiful with many comfortable bed options. The level room gave us access to the lounge which is where we had a lovely breakfast, aโ la carte and buffet available. There are also soft drinks and snacks at lunchtime. In the evening between 5.30 and 7.30 you could have cocktails, wine, beer and canopies. The beach is beautiful and in a quiet cove. The thing that made this stay perfect was the staff! Firstly Baw, the friendliest most helpful guy always around the pool area to assist! He should be made the Manager of happy customers! The staff in the level lounge were excellent! Tamarind, Seen, Keng, Pikkie, Lisa,Queen and Nitty! All delightful and so welcoming! I rarely find a hotel that is near perfect but I canโt recommend this one enough!

This was my 4th time at Melia Koh Samui & i can't recommend it highly enough. The grounds are huge & immaculately maintained. Rooms are modern & spacious with great bed. I could sing the long virtues of this place all day, but will focus on just 1 letter of the alphabet - B Breakfast - wow! Huge selection & two noodle stations to make up a proper athai breakfast or have the chefs whip you up some amazing eggs. Fruit varies each day & pastries galore. Beach - the cleanest & calmest water & very safe for families as no under current. Lovely & calm atmosphere Baw - the one & only! Baw looks after the pool/beach crew & he really enhances your holiday with his attentive & considerate manner. On my 2nd stay, Baw remembered my name & this is a gauge of his ability to make you feel like you really matter as a guest. I firmly consider Baw to be a friend & he & all the staff are now a factor in choosing to return this this wonderful place. Thank you Baw, my friend & see you next time.

This hotel is nothing short of excellent. The location is incredible with immediate access to a wonderful beach, the resort itself is quite big and thereโs lots to do. I highly recommend The Level experience as the staff took care of us so well, towards the end of the trip staff just felt like family. Tamarind, Pikie, Keng, Seen, and Lisa took such good care of us! We will definitely be back, highly recommend Melia Koh Samui to anyone.

I stay regularly at top 5-star hotels worldwide including Peninsula, Fairmont, Waldorf Astoria, W Hotels, and expected Melia Koh Samui to meet that standard. Visually, the hotel is impressive, but the experience has been disappointing. I slipped and fell on the dangerously slippery floor in my room, and the response was shockingly indifferent: โWe can call a doctor, but itโll cost you,โ followed by, โWhat do you want?โ The solution? Floor mats. What made the situation worse was the lack of genuine concern or initiative to resolve the issue. When I called to report the incident, the staff didnโt seem to care or make any real effort to address the problem meaningfully. This is not how a true 5-star hotel handles guest safety or service. Melia has a long way to go before it can be considered on par with the global luxury brands it aims to compete with.

He remembered our names after telling him once, made us feel special everytime he saw us, and went out of his way to make us happy and well looked after. We also had access to the Level. 2 main issues during our stay Only one restaurant open for dinner which was quite limiting for a 6 night stay so we ended up going out for dinner quite a lot The main issue during our stay was the pool towel issue which may sound trivial but when you canโt exchange a wet towel for a dry one at the main pool and you have to go back to your room and ring housekeeping to get them changed was extremely annoying. We were often at the pool for 6 or more hours so going back to your room a few times each day to change pool towels wasnโt ideal for a relaxing holiday, The pool attendants weโre embarrassed by this Hotel policy. We had to carry our towels everywhere otherwise they would not exchange them. For a 5 star hotel this was disappointing. To not trust your guests with towels wasnโt a welcoming experience. We have been to Thailand more than 15 times and this was the first issue with towels that we have encountered and this reflected poorly on what would have been a great stay.

The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly, the breakfast had a great selection of options, and the whole resort is stunning โ situated right on the beachfront with opportunities for kayaking and paddle boarding. During our stay, while navigating these activities, we were fortunate enough to have the help and support of Baw. He was a smiley face and a friendly presence we looked forward to seeing every day by the pool. He was always there to help and made us feel so comfortable and welcome!

Overall amazing property, lovely location along Choeng Mon Beach. Great room and amazing staff. Had a pool access level room. Room size great and verandah area amazing. Pool and beach area amazing, always plently of chairs available during the day. Food at Breeza good and buffet breakfast great. The grounds are lovely. Gym 24 hrs and spa was lovely. We usually stay at Chaweng but enjoyed Choeng Mon beach and plently of restaurants and bars along the beach and on the street. It was a nice change. Khunyak restaurant on the street was so affordable and great food. PI along the beachfront also good. Just two things. Our first few days there was lots of kids and it was very noisy. Which is fine for us but may not suite couples. The pool access rooms can be noisy with kids playing in the pool. We had a rough few days at the start of our trip with four kids next door and no parent supervision. But the end of the stay was great overall so timing may have been the issue. Just something to beware of if you are looking at a romantic getaway. Maybe the boat suites would suite better as they seemed quiet. And you can access the pool around the resort at various intervals anyway. And the level we found wasnโt worth it. Not many snacks at all during the day and we donโt drink much alcohol. But if you had kids this would be more worthwhile. It was noisy there with kids running around. Overall amazing stay the staff are great and the resort just beautiful. Canโt wait to return Just choose the boat suites if looking for a quiet stay.

We had a great stay at Melia Koh Samui. Having booked a Level room we could have breakfast at the Level lounge as well as snacks and drinks for the rest of the day. The Level core team of Mamai, Lisa, Queen, Pikkie, Tamarind and Keng were exceptional. Their friendliness, helpful support and tipps for us truly made the difference between a great vacation to an exceptional one! Thank you for that, you were the best! Also K's support was highly appreciated and we had a wonderful island tour with the taxi driver! All staff was supportive at all times and trying to fulfill all our wishes. I visited Melia Koh Samui 2x during my stay. The food was excellent- highly recommend burrata and the prawns w/ extra toasts. I was not staying on property but did a shuttle to beach and went for lunch. I was waited on by Looknam on my first visit and liked the atmosphere and Looknamโs service so much I returned for another lunch. I Was graciously greeted by Pan who offered me a seat with a beautiful view of islands, ocean and boats.Looknam once again provided excellent service.

Melia is a lovely resort in Koh Samui. It is quite near the airport and around 15 minutes drive only. Look is resorty and airy. Reception desk is in an open area near the entrance. The hotel has 5 or 6 blocks. There is a great variety of rooms you can select from. Simple rooms, with views, ground or up or 2 up floors. Some rooms have private pool also and most rooms have a bath tub in the balcony. Resort has excellent amenities. Pool is also excellent. Different food areas with different variety, and a nice ice cream parlour, bar and also party area. Room is equipped with all amenities including iron and board and tea coffee facility. Breakfast is excellent. Location is good also with massage parlours and restaurants and coffee shops outside also. Overall a top class resort to stay.

We had such a nice stay at Melia. Rainbow checked us in, and was very informative and very sweet. The breakfast every morning was very nice and the staff was extremely attentive. The beach and pool was so beautiful and relaxing, and the the staff was always around if you needed anything. Baw by the pool was extremely friendly and attentive. There are lots of stairs at Melia, so luggage can be hard to bring up/down stairs - but the bellman are happy to help and were a lifesaver! Krod and they guys were all so cheerful and fun! Thanks to the whole staff from top to bottom.

Meliรก heeft prachtige zwembaden, geschikt voor kinderen en met uitzicht op het strand. De locatie is super, Choengmon beach is een van de mooiste stranden van Koh Samui. Er zijn leuke eetgelegenheden als je eens buiten het resort op het strand wilt eten. Het ontbijt is uitgebreid en vers. Er zijn heel veel gezinnen met kinderen en Israรซlische toeristen op dit resort. Er is een kids club en baby/peuter speelzaal.
Cons: Onze baby was erg aan het huilen, maar helaas was de kamer nog niet klaar om half 2. We hadden gevraagd of ze konden aangeven zodra de kamer klaar was. Er was weinig medeleven. 15:01 kregen we de sleutel net als alle andere gasten. Inmiddels hadden wij 1,5uur met een huilende baby in de lobby gezeten. Ik begrijp dat de inchecktijd 15:00 is maar wat compassie is in dit segment wel op zijn plaats. Gym is ok maar klein. De kamer is wat verouderd. Hier en daar wat beschadigingen. De eerste dag sneed onze baby zijn knie aan een scherpe tegel in het zwembad. We werden goed geholpen met pleisters en tissues (veel bloed) maar dit soort dingen kunnen voorkomen worden met goed onderhoud aan het zwembad. Het beach restaurant heeft goede Thaise gerechten maar de Spaanse tapas vonden we ondermaats. Als je hier komt met kinderen is het prima, als je voor je rust komt zou ik absoluut wegblijven.

Just finished a wonderful week staying in a swim up boat suite with our daughter. The stay would not have been the same without Level access which was definitely worth the extra. Breakfast was superb with some lovely a la carte options. Having the ability to pop in during the day for snacks, drinks and air con. really useful. We also thought the cocktails and evening selection were delicious but above all the staff in the Level made the experience that much more special for us. Pikkie Tamarind, Keng, Queen, Maya and Lisa were outstanding and a credit to the hotel with their level of service and really useful recommendations. Without them, the stay would not have been the same. Also deserving a mention is Mia in the entertainment team for patiently showing us how to make different napkin shapes and fish out of banana leaves! We also liked the area which was a little quieter but still had plenty of good choice restaurants at reasonable prices within walking distance. All in all an excellent choice for koh samui.

Had a fantastic stay in the Melia for a week with my partner and our 11 month old baby. We were returning guests as the hotel was perfect for our needs. Once again the staff is the best thing about the Melia! In particular, Baw, who checked in on us throughout the days but also helping us get all our extensive beach gear (buggy, inflatables, bags, towels etc) back to our room each day! Also a shout out to Tangmei (may have spelt this wrong, sorry!) at breakfast who entertained my daughter and quickly became her favourite! Canโt wait to return soon!

What a lovely experience. I stayed in this hotel with my husband and my kids. The moment we entered we felt we are at home because of the amazing greeting we received. The staff are like a familyโฆAlways smiling and offering help. Every part of the hotel is amazing. Rooms are in the middle of greeneryโฆ.lovely, clean and cosy rooms. Lovely pools and great beach with soft sand. Nice breakfast and nice restaurant ( Breeze ). Nice lounge and gym. They have activities as well. I was sad when I said goodbye to the amazing staff. Our stay was perfect. I loved the yoga classes with Mui. Thinking this would hardly be challenging because hotel yoga surely caters more to beginners or those who donโt regularly practice, I didnโt expect a challenging workout. Boy was I wrong! Mui put a lot of emphasis on enhancing flexibility, working in some advanced poses that had me scrambling. It was great and made the amazing breakfast afterwards all the more rewarding. Thank you for a great experience!

We have just returned from a 9-night break at the Melia Koh Samui. Firstly, the resort is very pretty, well laid out, and with its own section of Cheongmon beach with complimentary sunbeds. The facilities are great. We had a lovely boat suite and took advantage of the Level access which provides a separate dining room and complementary drinks and snacks during the day which was very welcome. What makes this resort outstanding however are the staff, from the welcome at reception, to the constant happy smiles and the service they provided. From the Level there was Maya, Tamarind, Queen, Keng, Pikkie and Lisa, who were all so friendly and helpful with travel changes and restaurant recommendations and bookings. Outside around the pool and on the beach we were looked after by the incomparable Baw (my new Thai brother!) who could not do enough to make sure we had our best experience. The whole team made such a difference to our stay, and we were wouldnโt hesitate to recommend the Melia to anyone who wants a lovely resort, on a beautiful beach, looked after by the friendliest, most welcoming people.

We chose the Melia because of its location on an incredible beach (Choeng Mon Beach) - not too touristy and plenty of restaurants nearby. Checked in without any issues - not quite the welcome that we had at the Melia in Chiang Mai but we were very happy with both the resort and our premium rooms. Our rooms were spacious, clean with large balconies overlooking the beautiful tropical gardens. We didn't book The Level at this hotel because the upgrade price for a family of 4 was astronomical. Thankfully we didn't miss it as there are some really nice bars on the beach with happy hour cocktails and a sea view - what's not to love! Very hot and sunny every day - no issues with sunbeds either around the pool or at the beach. Weโre a beach family so we were there every day which was bliss - there are vendors selling goods but a 'no thank you' if you don't want anything is all that is needed and they move on. No cooling off in the sea during August as the sea is so warm! Breakfast buffet was superb - so much selection and all staff were so welcoming. Our trip was celebrating my husband's birthday and we were surprised by the staff bringing a cake during breakfast and our room was decorated with balloons and flowers which was so thoughtful and much appreciated - thank you to Van and the staff involved. We had a few massages on the beach - around ยฃ10 for a Thai massage so the whole family had one a few times which was fabulous! A huge thank you to the staff who were exceptional - I (stupidly!) lost my wedding and eternity rings on the beach (they were loose with sunscreen). I have had them for 28 years so was devastated that I had been so careless! Luckily 2 superstar members of the Melia staff (Baw and Pla) were on hand and helped look for them, cordoned off the beach and contacted a YouTuber from America who has moved to the island - Koh Noah - who came and saved the day and found my rings in the sand! Unbelievably he didn't want any money or anything for doing it, this is just something he does free of charge to help people out as he is so kind and has such a sophisticated state of the art metal detector. My only suggestion would be that they look at offering complimentary water around the pool and beach, even if that meant increasing the room rate slightly as it would make such a difference to guests - a bottle of water purchased from the hotel bar is ยฃ5! We and many other guests walked to the very convenient 7/11 store opposite the hotel who sell literally everything. Anyway back to the Melia, Koh Samui - we loved it and are already planning our next trip back! Ps I worried about encountering snakes before arriving and didn't see one in Koh Samui, Chiang Mai or Bangkok..... phew!

No one at Level reception for hours! Too many guests not enough beach or pool chairs! Constantly harassed in the beach by vendors, hotel employees donโt do anything to prevent this!! We have just returned from a 10 day stay at the Melia Kho Samui and could not be more impressed by this hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, spread out through tropical gardens filled with beautiful flowers. We particularly loved the day bed and bath on our huge balcony which overlooked the gardens, a wonderful spot to unwind after a hard day at the beach! The whole family loved all the facilities of the hotel. Our teenagers loved using the free paddleboard and kayaks and we all enjoyed swimming around the swimming river that winds around the gardens. The main swimming pool was busy and used mainly by families with younger children. This suited us as the beach was used more by everyone else. There was never a shortage of sunbeds and we were always looked after by members of the staff. A special shout out has to go to Baw who made us feel like his family but all the staff were always happy to help with anything we needed. The beach resturants and bar served delicious food and drinks and we were again always well looked after by all the staff, especially Looknam who helped us learn a few Thai words. We enjoyed the fire show and Thai dancers in the evening The breakfast buffet was spectacular, with so much on offer. We loved sitting overlooking the gardens and taking our time. Diana and Peachy often looked after us with such care and the whole team were very welcoming. If you go make sure you try the French Toast, it will keep you coming back for more. The beach itself is perfect, beautiful soft sand and warm waters. If we didn't eat in the hotel restaurant we could walk along the beach to many other restaurants and bars. A huge thank you to all the staff at the Melia Kho Samui, you made our holiday unforgettable. We will definitely be back!

We loved this hotel. We loved the staff who were always so helpful and friendly. Every member of staff that you walked passed said hello without fail. We also loved the location. There are so many great local restaurants nearby (Mira Serene, Pi Samui, The Mother, The Bay Leaf, Cafe Sol) and the location was also well located for boat excursions and visiting the temples/Big Buddha. We would recommend paying extra for a room with The Level benefits (canapes and free alcoholic drinks 5:30-7:30pm plus complimentary a la carte breakfast and soft drinks all day served in a separate lounge). The pool bar was great and had a 2-4-1 happy hour 2-4pm where cocktails were included. My children loved the pool. There was a main pool with plenty of sun beds but there was also a lazy river style pool which meanders around the entire hotel with water jets and slides dotted around for interest. We would spend our mornings by the main pool then move to the lazy river and base ourselves at the pool bar later in the day. This gave us variety. Our room was cleaned promptly and very well each day. There's a 7/11 within a 5min walk where you can pick up water, snacks and soft drinks which are cheaper than at the hotel. There's also a tour operator across the road who will book boat excursions and tours for you at reasonable prices. The gardens are exquisite and the gardeners work so hard in extremely hot weather. Paddle boarding and kayaking were included complimentary and we made use of both. I would highly recommend a trip to Samui Elephant Haven which I booked online. Another tip would be to download the Grab app before you go (this is the equivalent of Uber and enables you to get around by taxi). We had the most wonderful holiday at this hotel.
Cons: If I'm being very picky, the only thing I didn't like was the way the Breeza Bar and Restaurant regularly tried to insist that you ate over priced and poor quality themed buffets instead of allowing you to eat a la carte. If you wanted to eat a la carte then they tried to say you had to have a table inside the restaurant instead of by the beach. This annoyed me for two reasons: i) this is not a cheap hotel to stay at and there were lots of free tables by the beach ii) the food on the themed nights that we did try wasn't very good quality. To be honest though, there are so many good restaurants on the beach that if they didn't give us the table we wanted then we just went somewhere else. Usually, if we told them that we were going to go somewhere else then they ended up giving us the table we wanted anyway (which again irritated me as it showed this was just a money-making ploy and the tables weren't really reserved).

Excellent stay in this hotel with my 4 kids. The children enjoyed every moment in the hotel, beach is great, as also pool access from some rooms (very recommended). Breakfast is complete and tasty. Also service at beach side is wonderful. On our last night we had a private dinner at the beach to celebrate our wedding anniversary, so lovely prepared by Isabella, and food was delicious by chef Tri and Som. Would definitively return to this hotel again, and recommend to enjoy this wonderful paradise in Koh Samui.

We stayed in a top floor Grand Suite with our 16 year old son for 6 nights in mid July. The room was beautiful and spacious and our son slept on the large and comfortable sofa bed in the lounge area which it was possible to fully partition off with sliding doors. As some have said, the toilet and shower have clear glass doors. We requested some privacy screening which was applied to the toilet door and made it less embarrassing to use with someone else in there! We had access to the Level Lounge which we used every day for drinks and snacks. The evening drinks selection was good (wine, beer, 4 cocktails and soft drinks) with an additional nightly cocktail special. Staff in the lounge were friendly and very helpful - thank you Lisa, Queen, King, Pinky, Mamai and Tamarind! They were always happy to chat and advise. We only ate breakfast in the Level on one occasion as the choice in the main restaurant was far wider. The benefits to eating in the Level were the air-con, having food cooked to order and being able to order a glass of sparkling wine (not on offer in the evenings which was a real shame). The hotel location is perfect - on a stunning quiet beach and minutes away from numerous restaurants and bars (both on the beach and the main road). We didn't eat in Breeza at the hotel or use the spa so can't comment on either of these. The main pool was large and the loungers by the pool were cushioned and very comfortable. In terms of guests there were mainly families with little kids or teens but quite a few couples too. Thank you to all at the Melia for our enjoyable stay - we'd love to return one day!

We always come back to this hotel whenever we holiday in Samui, it never disappoints. This is perfect for families who want something a bit classier. The rooms are all well proportioned and decorated tastefully with extremely comfortable beds - theyโre enormous too! The facilities are top notch, with a beautiful beach side pool with free water sports such as SUP boards and kayaks as well as some table tennis and fuseball to keep the children entertained. The staff are very polite, friendly and professional. I must give a special mention to @Baw who always remembers us from when we came after the Melia had just opened, he was so helpful and friendly. There is a lazy river style pool with slide and fountains that the children love to explore and a swim up bar for the grown ups to enjoy happy hour drinks whilst the children play! The kids club is excellent. We will definitely be back when we come to Samui again next year. Thanks for a great stay.

He looked after us and got to know us and was just phenomenal. Even got the first aid box out one day when I felt faint round the pool. Did everything he could to enhance our stay. Recommended local restaurants which were amazing and was just generally a very lovely person. Also want to call out Lisa and her team at the Level. Every single member of the team there went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. They brought me special vegetarian lunches every day and made sure the fridge was stocked with Chang for cocktail hour! We have had the most magical 10 days staying at the Melia in Koh Samui. The hotel is beautiful with a fantastic pool and kids pool. The hotel has a kids club which has some brilliant activities. The beach where the hotel Is situated is stunning. White sand with clear blue sea. We stayed in a swim up room with our 3 small children. The room was perfect for us as our children are all 5 and under. The staff couldnโt have done enough for us. They were so attentive. We booked to have a room with The Level access. Works well especially with the kids as you can get snacks throughout the day. Keng and all the staff in the level are amazing. They really looked after us. And Nannie and Lah at the pool bar thank you for all the Thai you taught us. We so look forward to coming back one day. X

We loved our 12 days here in this gorgeous resort. The staff are so kind and attentive and are so caring that you are enjoying your stay. Our room was so nice and spacious and we loved the balcony with a bath which was so nice for a quiet and restful afternoon refreshments and escape from the heat. My only critique of our room was that a coffee machine would be a nice addition . The resort is beautifully set out and immaculately groomed and the staff take so much pride in their resort. This is very much a family resort and the pool can get very busy and noisy with kids and i would love to have an adults only pool here. The breakfast was amazing and delicious, ( my fav was the bircher muesli- would love that recipe! ) we loved our relaxed breakfasts every day where we felt so nurtured with beautiful food and such kind staff ensuring we had everything we needed, even making me ginger teas to take away . The gym is excellent and i used this a-lot as i started my day . The days here were just so relaxing and we felt our body and souls recharged . The location is perfect and in a quieter area but easy enough to get to local Markets and shopping , attractions etc. We hired a scooter from the hotel which a awesome day out exploring. We loved our stay and hope to return again, thank you again yo all the wonderful staff at the Melia for all your care.

Fantastic hotel with a great balance of relaxed luxury and catering for families with children. The service was faultless - the staff couldnโt do enough for you. Breakfast was a little more limited cos other hotels of the same calibre but the food was excellent, despite the slightly limited selection (vs other hotels) Special mention to Khun Baw in the pool area who was amazing and added that personal touch where he manages to remember all of the guests names and attend to your every need. This guy deserves a raise!

We have had the most fantastic time here. We all agreed it was our favourite holiday anywhere so far. The hotel is very luxurious and right on the most beautiful beach. The pool area is stunning and there are always sunbeds available. The staff at this hotel are particularly friendly and go out of their way to help you. Special mention to Baw who works at the pool; his job seems to be professional friend to all! He was so lovely and really made our stay. We only stayed bed and breakfast so we couid explore other restaurants and were very glad we did. The breakfast here is phenomenal with everything anyone could want. Breakfast was always quiet with no queues for anything- we Couldnโt work out where everyone else was?! Thank you for an amazing stay, we really hope to come back one day. โค๏ธ

Staff were amazing and so helpful with every detail. Shout out to Peachy, Ben, Bay, Ninew, Rak Mean and Mobile for all their service and Baw around the pool area. Rooms were clean and welcoming although there could be some maintenance done in bathrooms with tap ware and sink plug sticking.
Cons: Pool looks like it is under maintenance with tiles removed. Filtering system needs work. Also while it is a family friendly resort I think children should not be sitting at stools in the swim up bar nor splashing their way through with lilos etc. They have other areas that can be used. Dining in house was pricey so if you want guests to stay onsite more, then perhaps look at your competitors on the beach.

We looked forward to coming back to our room every time we went out! Bed - Huge bed and very comfortable. We had the best sleep as the resort was so quiet. Breakfast - Very nice spread and and wonderful staff Gym - Nice gym which was conveniently located near the rooms. Pool - Very nice and big pool.
Cons: Shade around pool - Would be nice if the surrounding areas of the pool had more shade. Big overhanging plants to provide much needed shade from the sun would be nice. The coconut trees are nice and all but provides no shade. Other than that the pool was really nice!

Standouts: - Very high standard made-to-order noodle bar (fried and soup noodles) - Excellent quality baguette bread.. crunchy outside, light and soft inside - UNPARALLELLED French Toast.. NEVER had it this good! THe bread is soft and flufly, and SOMEHOW, they FILL it with the cooked egg mixture!! If not amazing enough, then coated with maple syrup and cinnamon sugar!! - One of the VERY FEW places that take all the tails of the bean shoots in their salads and noodles!! The Melia exceeded all my expectations. The resort is stunning. The room are beautiful, large and well maintained. The pool is amazing, a large range of loungers available and never a problem finding one on the beach or poolside. The staff go to great lengths to deliver outstanding next level . Max and Pop on reception were so helpful in making suggestions for local dining and advice about koh samui. Max and pop did a great job helping book my Thai cooking class to ensure we got to cook all our favorite Thai dishes. We had the most amazing private cooking class with the chefs at Melia . Tri & Tik did a fantastic job teaching us how to cook Thai beef salad, tom yum soup, red curry prawns , pad Thai and delicious banana desert. Meanwhile Pang assisted by helping make sure our class went well with table service and even taking photos and video of us doing our cooking lesson. It was the best activity for our family - teaching our boys how to cook their favorite pad Thai from scratch. Again the cooking class exceeded our expectations. Sam and Min were our room attendants and always did an impeccable job cleaning our rooms . The staff at Melia koh samui make this resort stand out as one of the best hotels I have stayed in, the attention to detail and maintenance is obvious as is the pride in their work. We will be back!

Recently stayed with family on holiday. Getting away from our NZ winter. Found all the staff to be exceptionally friendly. Great facilities and buffet breakfast. Enjoyed the Thai cooking class. Special thanks to chefs Tri and Tick and Pang our server. Also to Sam and Min who kept our rooms immaculate every day. Max and Pop in reception were very helpful and gave some very good suggestions for local eats. Overall great experience and would definitely come back again.

Cons: The staff were rude when I questioned things. Thereโs no elevators and they expected us to walk up three flights of stairs to our room. The walls are paper thin. We could hear people coming in and out of their rooms all night long and didnโt get any sleep. Couldnโt get the hot water to work so had cold showers. Had to walk through the rain and wet puddles to get to our room. The breakfast was outdoor so it was hot to eat breakfast. Also a lot of sugar and processed food for breakfast.

This was the last hotel of four that we'd stayed in over our two trip to Malaysia and Thailand. I'd previously stayed at a Melia in Gran Canaria, so knew what to expect from the brand. Our room was beautiful and cleaned daily and we had a nightly turn down service. The grounds, pools and beach were amazing, really clean and plenty of comfortable loungers. The beach is beautiful and there are some lovely places to get a massage and lots of souvenir stalls. We had our breakfast at the main buffet restaurant and there was a wide selection of food and live stations for waffles and eggs. Our only negative comment is about the Level Lounge. We treated ourselves by upgrading our room to a Level Room with Pool access, which gained us entry to use the Level Lounge. We were completely shocked by the amount of children and babies in the lounge. Some children were left unsupervised to run up and down the lounge, run around staff and other guests whilst they moved around the lounge and to go up and touch food from the self-service buffet area with their hands. The staff in the lounge remained patient and unphased by the chaos these children were causing. At times we could hear children screaming, crying, shouting and having tantrums. Most parents would ignore their children and let their behavour continue. We did not enjoy sitting in the lounge and would try and sit outside with other guests who shared our views on the badly behaved children. Some times the children would come out to the outdoors seating area to charge up and down and get in the way of people trying to enjoy a quiet drink, whilst their parents stayed in the lounge totally uninterested in what their children were doing. The Level Lounge isn't a creche and needs monitoring so parents with badly behaved children aren't allowed to make it unpleasant for other guests.

The service, attention to detail and "nothing is a problem" attitude from everyone here are what sets this hotel apart. We had the most amazing 10 nights here, made particularly special by the Level team with a particular mention to Lisa, Maya, Queen, Pikky, Tamarind and Mamai. We felt like royalty - they knew our names, food and drink preferences and helped us out with absolutely anything we needed from booking local hair salons, securing hard to get restaurant bookings and arranging very special things for my daughters 18th. The hotel, location and our sea front facing boat suites were all incredible too. K was always on hand with a smile and buggy to take us to the lobby - he is a credit to the hotel and so knowledgeable about all aspects of the island. We have stayed in many Melia hotels - this one stands out as the most memorable because of the fabulous team and how they have an ability to all make you feel so special.

The breakfast buffet was outstanding โ a wide variety of fresh, delicious options (including the eggs-your-way station) that catered to everyone. Our rooms were cleaned daily and always spotless โ a huge thank you to Fang, Nina, Mas, and Nok from the housekeeping team for keeping everything perfect with such friendly and professional service. Booking tours through the resort was super convenient and the prices were very reasonable. The beach access was great, and there are plenty of fantastic restaurants just a short walk away. A highlight for us was the pool bar โ the cocktails during happy hour were fantastic, and we want to give a special shoutout to Lah and Fang, who were incredibly friendly and made our poolside time even more enjoyable. The lagoon-style pool that winds its way through the resort is a real feature โ itโs both beautiful and relaxing, and connects all areas of the resort seamlessly. Where do I even start? The pool here is incredible, some suites face the water which loops and bends around the back of the hotel. Should have brought a floaty but itโs great to relax in nonetheless. Thereโs also direct access from the pool to the ocean and Meliรก has sea kayaks and SUPBs for use. Great service from all the workers here; Dean, Min, Jom and Krok, just to name a few. Great hospitality all around. Finally, the although the location is a little far from Central Samui and Big C, it means that the area is totally family-friendly; Anong restaurant nearby has great food, and there is a 7-eleven too. Also, if you decide to rent a car, there is always a traffic guy out the frontโฆliterally a lifesaver! All in all, a great Koh Samui experience. Highly recommend.

We stayed at Hotel Meliรก in Cosa as a family for five days and had an absolutely wonderful experience. Our room had direct pool access, which was a huge hit with the kidsโthey had plenty of space to play and loved jumping right into the water. The main pool was beautiful and well-maintained, and the beach was just as impressive: soft white sand, crystal-clear warm water, and very clean. The staff really made the stay special. Everyone was kind and helpful, especially K, Prom, Preen, and Dean. We misplaced a few items during our stay, and they went out of their way to track them down for us. This hotel is perfect for families, and we highly recommend it. We left with great memories and will definitely be back!

This hotel and the staff are the best we have ever been to. Me and my boyfriend have come here 2 years running and it gets better each time. The room is lovely and spacious, the breakfast buffet is great. The hotel pool is amazing and it is right on the beach. Thereโs loads of restaurants on the beach and the hotel is in a great location. The pool staff are great and are always walking around offering you drinks and letting us know they are here if we need them. We have made a great friend, Bow, who works alongside the pool. He is so helpful and such a hard worker. Bow and the other lovely staff are the main reason we keep returning. Bow is also so helpful with letting us know whatโs going on around Koh Samui and the best places to see. We would highly recommend and will hopefully be back next year.

Great location, modern hotel. Breakfast buffet was great every morning. Staff were friendly and helpful. Happy hour at the pool bar each day was great!
Cons: Food at the restaurant was way too expensive so we ended up eating out every night as it was 4 times the price of restaurants next door. Main pool was a bit dirty also.

Resort was absolutely wonderful. The pool was spacious, relaxing and temperature controlled. The beach was serene and the overall facilities were clean and nice. The food in the hotel was very delicious (especially the breakfast french toast). Would 100% come back again.
Cons: Room doors have a lot of space under them and not soundproof so a lot of noise can be heard in the room and theres a chance something can crawl through the space.

The restaurants are decentโnothing too memorable, but the quality is solid and everything we had was satisfying. Pricing felt just a touch high for the overall experience, though not unreasonable. Where the hotel really shines is in the hospitality. The staff were consistently warm, helpful, and professional, which elevated the entire stay. Highly recommended if you're visiting Koh Samui and looking for a serene, well-managed resort with charm.
