Very nice hotel and very nice room. Super quiet and comfortable. The pool area is very nice. Dinner by the pool and with live music was great. There are here and there sets from movies which entertained our kids.
Cons: There was an issue with the price charged. They used a daily rate in dirhams and a fixed exchange rate from the hotel which resulted in 10% more Euros in my credit card. I asked to be charged in my card directly in Euros the amount shown in my reservation but they insisted this was not possible. Even though the booking had written in bold letters the amount to be charged there were endless discussions with the employee. The manager was not available to resolve the issue so I finally gave up. I was only able to compensate the difference at check out when I demanded it would be subtracted from my dinner restaurant expense. Not something I would have expected from such a good quality hotel. Unnecessary stress that could be avoided with better trained personnel at check in.

Design of the hotel and the comfort of the rooms. Quite spacious and feels luxury
Cons: Both the speed of service (it takes eons to get a drink) and the quality of food is really sub-standard for a 5-star hotel featuring these prices. The breakfast has a broad assortment, but is quite bland and disappointing in terms of taste. For lunch, I had a piece of chicken which was undercooked - upon filing a complaint, I was told by the staf that "I should just drink some cola and it should be fine". Although I did not get sick, I am highly disappointed by the experience and lack of empathy. Given the location and general temperatures, I don't think people should take any risk undercooking chicken.

One of the poorest 5 star hotels I’ve stayed in. The attitude of the staff is remarkable - most actively don’t want to be helpful and you’re greeted with apathy in every conversation. Rooms are numbered weirdly - and at night finding where you are is a disaster (no help of course). Pool unheated and I imagine unusable unless in the height of summer. Restaurant poor and over priced - takes ages too, took 2 hours on day 2 for lunch to arrive. Would recommend going out for meals.

Just the first look
Cons: 1st—Their rooms are not what you see in the pictures. We booked a family suite with 2 bedrooms. In the pictures it looks like it has beds with sofas but what u get is 1regular and another very small room. A extremely small sitting area. Bathrooms are ok. The staff were sweet but clueless. They showed us another room in same catagory but that was old. There was no action taken by the management or booking.com. Even after being there for 2 days general manager was not even seen. Various complain all we got was we cannot do anything. 2nd— Do anything don’t eat here. The food is inedible. Room service , restaurant, the Italian food is not even Italian. Please don’t try. We went to another hotel named Oscar Hotel next to Atlas studios for our meals and they were good. Imagine going to a 4star hotel for meals when you are staying at a so called 5star. 3rd— Without notice there SPA was closed. 4th — Just a cruel act for us that they had 4 peacocks caged . Sad

Nice big room with big bathroom, nice garden and pool with many sitting areas and outside bar, good breakfast, but horrible coffee. Nice bar with fireplace!
Cons: The coffee at breakfast! Hammam and massage are ok, but there’s no area to lay down afterwards and relax. Once done, you have to get dressed quickly and leave. Even for the sauna you have to pay 300,-MAD for a ridiculous 30 minutes session!!! Sylvester dinner was overpriced with 1950,-MAD per person. Poor food quality, no champagne at midnight, poor entertainment with the worst belly dancer ever who was done in 5 minutes … and at 12.20 the party was over!

Beautiful property.
Cons: We were not part of a tour group and had dinner in their restaurant. The quality of the food was terrible relative to the rest of the hotel. Great hotel with amazing staff and facilities. Peacefull oasis to recharge. We only ate on premise 1 time at lunch and food was average and overpriced. On day 3 we asked for in-room coffee pods to find out it was only included for the first night (of a 4 day stay). Based on price of hotel room, we found this is a bit cheap for a luxury hotel (at $3US per… for Nepresso)… little details amenitities are nice, but coffee is a simple miss. Pool service was amazing… Hotel has a lot of bus tours staying but it doesn’t impact the tranquility of our stay…

We had a fantastic experience at Berbère Palace. This is the best hotel in Ouarzazate. I liked the attention to detail in everything they do. The staffs were very friendly, the room service was quick, the rooms were clean and well equipped. We eat at the restaurant and the food was really delicious. I would highly recommend staying here, it is worth the price. We stayed at a different hotel before and we were very disappointed and we booked our room in Berbère Palace at the last minute. I wish I knew how good Berbère Palace is, I would have booked it first.

Great hotel, plenty of luxury, superb modern rooms. Great facilities.
Cons: They inflated ALL the alcohol prices just for our stay because they new from past years our group arrive from the Sahara with a ‘thirst!’ 10 euro for a Cassablanca beer an example… At the Karam Palace a short walk away, it was 25 euro for 5. Wine on my room service card was 25 euro, they tried to charge 33 euro. And no, I am not an alcoholic, it was pure profiteering that needs to be addressed otherwise they will lose custom in future years.

Nice large and comfortable room, but with no view at all. Large and imposing.
Cons: Long walk to the bedrooms across many outdoor spaces. Almost non-existent staff but that could be because it was Ramadan. Staff were polite but not warm and not very effective. The room was very clean and comfortable, but did not have much charm - it could have been in Hong Kong or NY. The hotel has room service, which is very uncommon for the area.

We stayed in the hotel room 209 for 3 days. It seems like this hotel is use for one night stay by tourist/visitors visiting the area by buses and move on to another are next day. We tried to purchase USD from the Reception, but it was too difficult because the staff member could not say the exact conversion rate. Day 2 and day 3, towels in our bathroom were not replaced even though it was on the bathroom floor. Last day, towels were on the rail were dirty. We noticed that the cleaners weren’t even vacuum cleaned the room floor. We had to report several Health & Safety issues to the reception, but most of the reception staff gave us the feeling that could not understand what we were saying in English... If the hotel need long staying visitors from UK, they may need to consider the way they treat the customers much better than now. There were only one or two staff members could speak English therefore, we had issues on day 2 & 3 of the stay however, the room 209 we stayed was a large room with a beautiful toilet/bathroom. Day 1, reception staff member (Amalal Soufiane) was very kind and pleasant. He was the only person who could speak to us in English that day and it made a big difference when compared to other days. We were so pleased to see him working after that in the reception area. Last day, we managed to speak to the Hotel General Manager and he seems to be very welcoming, kind and understanding therefore, we do sincerely hope he will make the required adjustments...

Overpriced for what it offers and unhappy front desk staff. We stayed here one night. The facilities are dated and need to be upgraded, the staff isn’t very helpful and there’s nothing special about the property.

Overall very disappointing given the cost The hotel caters to large bus tours which detracts significantly from any charm it would have.

This hotel was really nice considering it’s in the desert and quite remote. The rooms were very clean and the staff was very good. The pool was lovely and the dinner was good. Considering the location and it being in a remote village in Morocco I was very impressed. The air conditioning is very loud and I didn’t have a restful sleep but overall it met my expectations and was a nice hotel to stop in on my way to the desert.

The hotel was very modern and extremely comfortable, with great service. Very comfortable bed, nice and quiet, great shower, quite luxurious furnishings, and large room. Only two things wrong - a bit TOO Western (perfect for some, but I'd rather have adventure), and the cappuccino was sweetened glop from the type of machine that also makes hot chocolate. I'm not fussy - the espresso was half-decent, so I simply added some milk to that, but a fancy hotel at a fancy-hotel price should have good coffee. Still gets a good rating overall (but would have been a 5* if the coffee had been good).

Nothing but bus loads of tourists. Crowds of people everywhere pushing and shoving. Like a Las Vegas hotel. Room was noisy and had ants in the bathroom. Food was poor at best.

Great location, it was a very comfortable hotel with obliging staff and most modern comforts. Only criticism is the gym which was very neglected. Squeaky treadmills, only a handful of random free weights/plates, and unusable weight machines that looked 20+ years old that were long broken. A number of guests shared my frustration when we couldn’t do a real workout. Would recommend they either upgrade/replace all the broken equipment or shutdown the gym and stop advertising it as a facility as it only disappoints. Otherwise the hotel was very charming and would recommend.

I was shown to a huge suite which had a massive bedroom, separate sitting room and a large bathroom. The bedroom had a hard bed, a desk & a dressing table. The bed was made up with a duvet. There was a safe attached to the bedroom cupboard. There was a bright light on air conditioning unit which lit up the room at night which was a little annoying. The bathroom was quite well lit but didn’t have a shaving mirror. A weak hairdryer was provided as well as some large towels. There was a separate toilet. The sitting room had two sofas (which could be turned into bed if you were staying with family) as well as a fridge. There were 2 TVs but they only had CNN & BBC World. There was a small outside terrace with a small table & 2 chairs. The Wi-Fi was weak especially at peak times. The buffet breakfast included all the usual choice as well as freshly cooked eggs. It was easy to park right outside the hotel. There was a nice pool area. There were several restaurants in the hotel and I ate in the Italian restaurant, whilst the food wasn’t particularly authentic it was okayish it was a welcome break from tagines! The staff were friendly and helpful. All the rooms/suites seem to be in two storey cottages so it might be worth asking for a room near reception if you want to avoid a long walk.

Hotel is dated and could use a facelift. Room was ok not great. Be aware that if you get an upstairs room, the stairs are narrow and irregular. Not for anyone unsteady on their feet.

Truly a five star with service and luxurious property. Check in felt a bit rushed but everyone else was very helpful. Fitness facilities were a bit worn and I would extend the hours earlier (officially) as there were already people working out there with no issue prior to opening hours.

Great hotel. In the off season, it was a little quiet. I would call this place great for a family with kids, for sure. It's a little oasis in the middle of a working city.

The hotel is much larger than the smaller inns in the area, which means there are large groups of tourists and the property can feel crowded. But the functionality of temperature control and hot water was reliable. The rooms are clean and modern, but lack charm and are overpriced. Note that breakfast is NOT included and is extremely expensive. There are some cute places right across the street that are a much better value.

I believe this is the only "luxury" hotel in Ourrzazate. Given that fact, this is where you want to stay. The details of the hotel still doesn't come up to par with a 4 star hotel in USA but it's still a very pleasant place to stay.

Compared with other stays we had in Morocco, Berbere Palace felt much more like a professional resort-style hotel stay, and much of the facilities felt accordingly geared to it. The grounds are large and massive, the rooms also huge, spacious, clean and opulent - but there is a clinical identity to the whole place that lacked some of the charm of the smaller Auberge's we had during our stay. This isn't to detract from what Berbere Palace had to offer - it had everything in spades, and was super luxurious. For the discerning traveller, there is a host of facilities such as multiple bars, restaurants, and grounds to wander, as well as a very comprehensive team of helpful, friendly, and welcoming staff. The pool area looks spectacular and is laid out with deckchairs, sun lounges, a bar by the pool, and outdoor dining areas. Breakfast is in the buffet restaurant, and caters to a range of tastes, even serving pork which wasn't as common during our stay. It isn't a cheap option to stay here, but the money paid is for a luxury that's a cut above small vendor offerings. The resort also appears to see alot of action - particularly with films and film crews. During our stay, there was a film crew staying AND shooting on the grounds of the resort, as well as hosting the competitors of the Moroccan Rally, their individual car crews, the rally press teams and 2 separate buses of tourists. Amazingly, the resort still had an air of peace and quiet to it.

The check in went ok with the receptionist not speaking English. I was upgraded to a two bed room suite which was nice. The room has basics for five star hotels but is cleaned poorly with stains and hairs to be seen. There was no view other than walls of the surrounding structures. The restaurant experience was very bad as one of the waiters brought a glass wine without showing the bottle that I ordered. It was not until I asked to see the bottle that he admitted he had served a different wine, cheaper one, than what I asked for. Manager came out and apologized but the wine was fully charged as it was served. When checking out, the receptionist claimed that I had had a bottle water in the fridge that I had never touched. After I disputed, he had a housekeeper doublecheck and it became clear that it was her mistake. The receptionist said 'It is OK.' without apologizing. Overall, my stay was disappointing and I think was far from what you would expect from a five star hotel. Clearly the management has not caught up with the facility.

My family of 3 stayed overnight in mid March. It was a pleasant stay but unremarkable. Although the facade of the hotel looked like a beautiful kasbah from the exterior and the lobby was pretty, the rooms were a disappointment after our exotic stay in a Riad in Marrakech. The rooms were comfortable, soundproof and spacious. However the decor was bland and uninspiring. The tiles in the bathroom were stained-at first I thought there were blood stains, but realized they must be either paint or nail polish stains-not dreadful, but the look was really unappetizing.. The grounds and gardens were quite nice and the swimming pool looked inviting. At the high cost of the hotel I was surprised to learn that the pool was only heated to 20 degrees. As the weather was chilly at 10 degrees, the pool was very chilly. My family searched for a hot tub that would have been wonderful. There was none. I had to content myself with paying extra for a private warm jacuzzi that took 30 minutes to fill. It did have oodles of bubble bath and multi coloured lights, but the experience was somewhat diminished by a staff member barging in the room every five minutes. The front desk staff were a bit curt and not well informed. One of the waiters at the Italian restaurant was very pleasant and efficient.

We had a pleasant stay for a few days in the Berbere Palace over the New Year. The complex is very nice - the rooms are arranged in a complex of houses in the garden, rather than in the main building. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, although perhaps sometime since they've been updated. The wifi coverage in the different areas of the hotel (lobby, pool, rooms) seemed good. The location was also fine. Not so much in immediate vicinity, but it was only a few minutes walk to the centre, the main bus station and just over 10 mins walk to the Kasbah Taouirt.

The hotel was better than what I anticipated. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom room which was a very good first impression. To enter the room we had to climb a narrow, curvy stairway. This did not bother us once we found the light switch but it would be difficult if someone had a disability. Our room was also quite a walk from the main pool/breakfast area. The rooms were clean and it was nice to have the extra sitting room. I did feel the rooms were a little dark. The pool area is very nice and meeting actors from the studios made it fun. There was construction going on during our stay which was slightly disturbing. However, I would stay here again. It is within walking distance of the downtown area with other restaurants but you do need a vehicle to see the studios. The breakfast is a typical buffet with a full hot menu and a chef making your eggs to order. I did not think the breakfast was included but it was a nice surprise when they said it was included in our rate.

We stayed one night in this hotel after a few days touring the High Atlas. We needed to be in Ouarzazate to catch a plane back to Casablanca and home and found the Berbere Palace to be a pleasant enough place to spend one night and relax after far more rustic, if not more colorful, lodgings in the countryside. The hotel is a bit dated but it is super clean and well maintained. Staff was quite helpful. This is clearly mostly a tour bus hotel but it was quite serviceable for our needs.

We liked the hotel although it is quite expensive for a quick one night stay. We came back from a trip to the desert and thought a little luxury would be nice. This hotel provided that. I think this is a good place to spend a few days in to fully appreciate all things it offers.

I was actually surprised at how nice my room was...nice sitting area separated from the bed. The pool area and group areas at the hotel were all very nice as was the wi-fi. But...a few bad apples can spoil the barrel. The front desk staff were rude, seemed like they didn't have time to answer a question. Also, there was an issue with a drink on my bill that wasn't mine and they said I had to talk to the bartender about it...confusing since the bartender probably wasn't around at 8 in the morning. I think the manager should train the front staff better to actually be able to deal with customers.

We stayed one night after a 1.00 am arrival and noon departure so this length of stay hardly warrants a review. However we were well looked after and the even the buisness conference reception which took place around the pool as we tried we relax could not spoil the setting. One disappoitment was that I lost my leather jacket at the hotel- or at least I realised it was not with me after we departed by car from the hotel. I spoke on the telephone to one very helpful hotel contact who claimed to have checked with the staff who cleaned our room and evidently there had been no sighting of my jacket. I believe the jacket was last with our luggage as we waited for the hire car to be delivered and alas will never be seen again.
