Cons: Otelin konumu çok merkezi güzel olsa da, geceleri çok gürültülü olduğu için uyku sorunu yaşadım. Öte yandan otelin yanında hergün pazar kurulduğu için onun gürültüsü de fazlaca geldi ve sabahları o gürültüyle uyanıyordum. Otelin 2 farklı binası var ve arada sokak var. Bina değiştirip kahvaltı için diğer binanın en üst katına çıkıyorduk, aynı binada kahvaltı olsa daha iyi olurdu. Resepsiyondaki görevliler vs çok çok iyiydi cok yardımcılardı. Ancak temizlik görevlileri için çok olumlu konusamayacağım. Odama girilmesin diye kart asmama rağmen girilmişti. Yorgan vs düzeltilmişti ama yorgan yere temas ediyordu. Banyo vs yeni ve temizdi.

The hotel is situated in the city centre and even if you close the windows and shutters it feels like you sleep on the street because of all the noise. Amazing that a hotel of this standing doesn’t have better windows. We stayed here for two night and have never slept so poorly because of street noise, screaming people in the middle of the night like they were next to our bed.

Our stay was absolutely exceptional from start to finish! The hotel is beautifully designed and every space is stylish, spotless with a luxurious yet welcoming atmosphere! Our room was spacious, comfortable and very clean, with a very comfortable bed and everything we needed for a relaxing stay even if was just for one night! The attention to detail throughout the hotel was outstanding! The location is amazing! Right in the heart of Florence and within walking distance of the city's main attractions, making it incredibly convenient to experience everything the city has to offer. Everyone was warm, friendly, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. Their genuine hospitality made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would happily stay here again hopefully soon! 😊

We chose Hotel Calimala in Florence because of location and reviews. Our experience was so much more than we expected. We were in the East Building with Angel's rooftop restaurant. Roomy and well-appointed. Great location put us within easy walking distance of all major attractions, desired tours, shopping. and very good restaurants. However, what set Hotel Calimala apart from all the other hotels we have visited in Europe, was the staff. The most cohesive, pleasant, attentive staff with whom we have ever had the opportunity to interact. Especially noteworthy - Aziz, whose smile, greetings, and gracious help with questions, was always upbeat. Later, Angelo P. took time from the front desk to sit with us, explain Italo trains, and arrange last minute transportation to Venice for an overnight. His help and continued smile and pleasantries speaks well of his future with the Hotel. Sayma attended to our room and kept it immaculate. Mario at reception to the East Building was always there with a smile, answer and recommendation. Finally, we want to acknowledge Precisous E, a delightful, intelligent woman we first met working in the Hotel's "Lobby Bar" - West Building. She qenuinely took an interest in us and our time in Florence. A heart-felt thank you to each of you. Breakfast and lunch at Agel's was a nice experience. "Angel's" was completely booked for dinners, so book before you go.

The location was perfect, steps away from all of the best sites in Florence. The property was very clean and smelled amazing. The room was spacious and well appointed. The staff helped us get a taxi in the morning and even let me get a drink from the bar even though I didn’t realize a private event was happening. The drinks and food are pricey, as you would expect (about a 10 euro markup from any place else for a spritz), but we would absolutely stay here again.

Fantastic hotel. Great location. Angel rooftop bar and restaurant was excellent and the view was beautiful. Front desk staff are friendly and very helpful. Provided above and beyond service as we had a mini emergency upon arrival and they provided information and guidance. Rooms was very nice and huge. Slept our family of 4 very comfortably. They had no problem cooling our room to a comfortable temperature as it was quite hot when we were there. I would absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful building with a good bed but thought room was small for delux.
Cons: It wasn’t made clear on booking that there are two separate buildings, one of which has a roof top with outside seating and the other does not which basically means if you want to use this space you would need to move between buildings at street level. Also I was unable to get a proper nights sleep as the hotel is located within a very busy area with mass tourism night and day with buskers playing rock guitar until 1am. The double glazing helps but still audible if your room faces the street.

The Hotel Calimala in Florence is a 5/5 in so many ways. The location is central to all major sites and the Hotel itself exudes charm and grace from the spacious rooms to the front desk staff. Gemma, Allen, Angelo P as well as Benji could not have been more gracious or helpful. Breakfast which was included in our package was perfect—American style buffet but definitely with an infusion of Italian/European delicacies. I only wish we could have stayed longer

Nice natural light coming in from the large windows. The breakfast area (Angel restaurant) is lovely and the breakfast spread was great.
Cons: Lacking some tabletop and countertop space in the rooms and bathroom. You have to walk to another building (right beside) for breakfast if you are in the main hotel.

Overall, a very good experience. The hotel is clean, modern and comfortable. Staff is friendly and check-in was quick e senza problemi. Only small things: Wi-Fi was a bit lento sometimes, and the breakfast although good, could have more variety. But nothing really serious. Posizione ottima, easy to move around the city. For the price, definitely a solid choice. Would stay again 👍

We had a great stay. The location is ideal. Friendly helpful staff. Spacious room for 3. Street noise at night is the only negative… but it is the heart of Florence. We had a king bed and a pull out for our teenager. Bed was comfortable and so was the pullout. Nice shower and bathroom. They even had hair conditioner! The air conditioning worked well, so it was a comfortable respite after a hot day in the city. The location was great. Short walks to most sights. We would stay here again!

Beautiful hotel, really well decorated, we loved our tile bathroom. There are two locations just down the street from each other. Breakfast is served on the top floor of one of the locations. The roof deck restaurant is separate from the hotel. I remember thinking we would have access to it from the hotel photos and that’s why I booked this hotel. You have to make a reservation for dinner if you want to eat there. That was only slightly disappointing since the breakfast room was so pretty and you felt like you were in the roof. The location is perfect!

This is our second stay at the hotel Calimala. It is a fantastic hotel perfectly situated in the center of Florence‘s tourism district. You are right where you want to be for quick access to fine restaurants and the Art district. From your windows-which are noise canceling-you can hear the sounds of the city from operatic songs to violins. The service level is exceptional as is the food quality in its restaurant. This is the only place we would stay when visiting Florence.

Cons: I was very disappointed by the cleaning staff. We not only wrote on the paper what we needed ironed for a wedding, but we specifically spoke to our house cleaner and she said she would get it done and we came back to get ready with our beds made and the wrinkled, uncleaned dresses for that night just put back on top. We also kept getting decaf coffee after the first day, when we were clearly drinking the caffeinated. We also did not receive new coffee mugs. For what we paid it was quite shocking

L'emplacement dans Florence. Effort d'originalité dans le décor de la chambre et salle de bain. Nespresso. Terrasse roof-top fleurie végétalisée, bien située. Offre de poisson au menu. Personnel efficace.
Cons: Le petit déjeuner est très décevant pour un 4 étoiles et sans aucun rapport avec le prix de la chambre : aucune offre de fruits frais locaux et de saisons, hormis des bouts de pommes de cantine (datant de l'automne) en mai. Pas de compote. Pas de pains locaux originaux, pas d'offre de pâtisseries ou desserts maison. La disposition de l'hôtel, entre deux bâtiments fait de l'un des deux une entrée sans aucun lobby. Terrasse en plein vent, très froide pour dîner. La chambre et la salle de bain sont en vis à vis direct avec occupants de l'immeuble juste en face, très proche. Le balcon est minuscule et sur la rue, donc fut inutilisé. Comme dans tous les hôtels, il n'y a pas de place pour tenir ouvertes deux valises en cours d'utilisation.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the staff were absolutely fantastic and welcoming, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout. Alessia, Andrea and Gemma at the front desk were brilliant, always on hand with advice and assistance, but a very special thank you must go to Aziz, the porter. His warm and charming manner made us feel like family from day one and really added something special to our stay. The hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms are stylish and comfortable, and the rooftop bar is simply unforgettable, with a fantastic atmosphere and views to match. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Florence and within easy walking distance of all the main landmarks, which made exploring the city effortless. As for Florence itself, what a place! It somehow manages to feel both like a world-class historic city and a close, welcoming town at the same time. It truly oozes history, culture, and warmth. A definite must visit. I want to give a special thank you to the team at Hotel Calimala for making our stay in Florence so memorable. Everyone we encountered was incredibly attentive and well-trained. Alessia went above and beyond—she helped us book tickets for the Duomo and organized a same-day trip to Venice, plus gave fantastic recommendations for shopping and local food spots. Her efforts truly made our trip seamless and special. Angelo welcomed us at check-in and pointed us toward some wonderful restaurants that ended up being highlights of our stay. And a big thank you to Antonino, who on our very last day helped us move to a bigger room when we had an issue with our door. He handled it quickly and with a great attitude. Also, super great location only minutes away from everything (shopping, restaurants, main sites, pharmacy, etc) and no need to cab anywhere except to the airport. The hotel has a great restaurant in its east location across the street (not even an 30 second walk) and a fun lobby bar in the west location. Their restaurant might have the best rooftop in the Firenze with a 360 view of the city. Love the details this location adds with the velvet/suede chairs and couches. The tile in the bathroom is lovely. This was our second stay Dec 25 and April 26. Value for what you pay is good. We will be back.

But in the case you want to hear the beautiful street musicians, you can always open the windows. My daughter enjoyed watching the artists and people outside the window. This was our second stay at Hotel Calimala! Since our first visit, they have opened a second location right around the block in an additional building. This new building offers a whole new set of amenities, including a large lobby with a cafe/restaurant. Hotel Calimala is beautifully and eclectically designed- something I was drawn to from our very first stay. The staff is helpful and competent, the roof deck (Angel) at the original location offers amazing views and great private outdoor space to relax when the weather cooperates. The hotel is incredibly centrally located- a few minute walk from Ponte Vecchio and many attractions. My only complaint was that our room faced the Mercato Nuovo which very noisy until about 10pm every night- many musicians performing. Next time we will ask for a room that faces the opposite direction. Overall another great stay!

Perfect first rate hotel walking distance to each of the must see Florence locations. Two buildings east and west each with its own restaurants. We particularly enjoyed the one with a rooftop Angel Restaurant for breakfast and sundown drinks and appetizers before exploring Florence. Spacious updated well kept room. Welcoming cheerful staff. Very glad we selected this place over so many other options.

A lovely hotel in a great location. We were meant to stay for 3 nights but ended up extending our trip. The staff are all really welcoming. Alessia was really friendly and helpful, making amazing restaurant recommendations and booking them for us. We had one vegetarian with us and she was already great at finding places with a few options for them. Leida at the bar was also great, cocktails were delicious!

Cons: Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Suite in der Ecke Richtung Dom. Obwohl das komplette Hotel rundum erneuert und renoviert wurde, waren die Fenster nicht wirklich schalldicht, wodurch wir - gefühlt - jeden vorbeiziehenden Nachtschwärmer, Zusteller und Straßenreiniger gehört haben. Wir haben daraufhin einfach mit Ohrstöpsel geschlafen. Wir hätten sicher ein anderes Zimmer bekommen, wenn wir dies nach der ersten Nacht bemängelt hätten, haben aber auf Grund der Lage (Aussicht) des Zimmers, darauf verzichtet. Sonst war alles perfekt und wir werden das Hotel sicher wieder buchen.

An excellent hotel that more than lives up to its stella ratings...the location is the best possible in the heart of historic Florence. The front desk were attentive, unfussy and always very helpful. Our room was kept spotless (thank you Zainab!) and hotel staff could not be more helpful. I would strongly recommend going to the Angel bar/restaurant for food and drinks - the food - and service - is as 5 star as the views across Florence from the top. The breakfast was good, but the evening drinks at sunset and food were wonderful. Despite being in the very centre of the city we heard no street noise, although our Superior Room (the most basic) was in the centre of the hotel and not facing a street. We didn't have a view, but the location of the hotel and quality of the room and service more than made up for it. If you want a view, you'll need to pay for one of the rooms in a higher bracket.

Excellent customer service. At first we weren’t happy with our internal room. Reception immediately changed our room into the 2nd hotel with 2 lovely windows. We also decided to stay an extra night and reception were very accommodating and allowed us to stay in the same room for the same price. The hotel itself is in a good spot and there is an excellent roof top bar to chill following a day of sightseeing. Would highly recommend.

They were amazing. I loved the room with giant windows and the location was so central. They even gave us a note with chocolates! The bed was giant and was decorated so stylishly.

The best location hands down! You can get to every destination in Florence within a 10-15 minute walk. The hotel staff was very friendly, helpful, and responsive with any questions we had before our arrival and during our stay. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and we even had views of the Duomo. If you want to experience the energy of Florence, keep your windows open to hear the singing from around the corner - once you close your windows, you won’t hear a thing. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back - and we will stay at their other property when we visit Milan. Highly recommend!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this hotel. The location is just perfect! So central and in a lovely part of Florence. I travelled here alone for the first time as a solo female and I felt completely safe and comfortable at all times of day / night. Check in process was so quick and my room was absolutely stunning!! I could not get over it. Views over the square opposite and I could open my windows in the evenings and hear the violinist play- perfection! The staff could not do more for you and the roof terrace / restaurant area in East (Angel) was stunning. I can’t wait to come back again and I have already recommended to all my friends.

While we were staying at the hotel, the other restaurant where they usually serve breakfast was closed. So they moved breakfast to their other restaurant. Maybe that was the reason. We had an amazing time at hotel Calimala! My husband and I are both physicians and which really value our time. This hotel is amazing and it truly puts you right in the city center where you could just walk right out and be part of all of the festivities and be right next to the river. We came here for New Year’s Eve to celebrate the New Year’s and it was such an amazing experience. It’s an upscale hotel that puts you in the middle of the city and you’re able to walk to all of the sites and return home to a central location. Lots of restaurants and festivities. It was literally the best. They also have a rooftop deck which is so endearing! Coming from Florida and wanting a safe place that is in the center of it all… This was the nicest experience! The staff was incredible and provided wonderful recommendations pre-trip as well as assisted in making reservations for us. This was our third stay at Hotel Calimala and it was as wonderful as we have come to expect. We now consider this hotel our home away from home in Florence. From the moment we arrived, Stefano and his colleagues were, as always, courteous and most accommodating. Our room was beautifully designed, impeccably clean, and infused with that signature Calimala aesthetic — a blend of chic Art Deco and modern elegance, and unique artwork throughout the hotel. Although we couldn’t dine at Mezze due to a private function that evening, the team immediately arranged a table for our friends and us at Angel, where we enjoyed a lovely share plates dinner. The cocktails at the bar were excellent, and the festive Christmas atmosphere throughout the hotel added an extra touch of magic to our stay. We couldn't recommend Hotel Calimiala enough!

Wonderful hotel, service and location. There are so many places to stay in Florence that when I got this recommendation from a friend I was happy to book it. Then I saw it was Michelin starred. After staying I know why. Attention to detail in everything. Beautiful rooms, the bath products smelled so good even my husband loved using them. The location can’t be beat. So close to the Duomo, all the museums and amazing restaurants. Everything was under a 10 minute walk. We loved or visit and can’t wait to try the sister property in Milano one day.

Some good, some improvements needed. Overall great experience and will be back. Stayed in the east building on via Calimala. Some nitpicky improvements: 1) there was a foul odor in the elevator (that I forgot to mention to the staff); it may have only been temporary, though, so probably not a big problem. 2) the scent diffusers near the elevator are overpowering, they should have a more delicate odor. 3) when serving drinks at the bar, you should provide a little something to eat, like nuts, olives or potato chips. 4) the boiler providing hot water to the bathrooms is set too low; I would increase by about 7-10 degree C. 5) The toilet tissue, while clearly strong, resembles sandpaper. I suggest changing brands. I can't speak for the noise that others mention, because I live in New York, and noise doesn't really bother me. The breakfast buffet is fine, and pretty much like every other breakfast buffet in Italy. I found the room temperature quite comfortable. I would suggest putting sheers on the windows, to allow for privacy, but would let light in. On the plus side, the location is perfect - it's the only neighborhood I would stay in in Florence. The staff are lovely and accommodating. The rooms, while on the small side are very nicely decorated and comfortable. I had two windows, and a view of the Signoria. The value for the money is exceptional, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

The hotel was in a very convenient location in Florence. Very close to SMN Train Station and the busy areas of Florence. The only issue with the convenience is that it can be noisy at night which is a problem if you can't sleep without the windows open. Would stay in the hotel again 100%. There is a bad smell in all the hotel including the room where the temeperature is set at 23 degree C ! They should review the ventilation system and the AC. Only recommendation from the reception following our complaint: open the window! Window on one of the noisiest street of Florence. The breakfast is very poor and served by rude waitress. The cleaning staff mobilize the elevators for there service and do not care about client! Avoid this poor hotel!

She managed to arrange an extra night for me even though the hotel was fully booked, and I got to stay in the same room as well. She was so professional and helpful, and really made things easy for me. The location of the hotel couldn’t be better. It’s close to all the main sights, restaurants, and shops. I’d definitely stay here again on my next trip to Florence.

I don't write many reviews but am so happy to write one for this hotel. We have stayed at Hotel Calimala 4 separate times in the last 2 years and it has become our favorite hotel in Florence. It is centrally located, the rooms are immaculately clean and stylishly furnished, and yet, still retain an old world charm with exposed stone walls and marble bathrooms. The rooms have everything you need and if you have forgotten something, more than likely they can provide it. The beds are lovely and we have slept well every time. The pillows are lovely but I might ask if they offer down or down alternative pillows the next time we stay. They have 2 beautifully restored buildings in which they have rooms (they are around the corner from one another) and we have stayed in both and are equal in measure. I slightly prefer the original building but only because the reception area is roomier and has a bar to get a coffee. The roof-top restaurant is stunningly situated overlooking Florence; the food is Tuscan, beautifully served and delicious. There is a gym and maybe a sauna and probably even more amenities but I really want to get to the hospitality part: the people are exceptional. Every, single, person we have encountered on our several trips there is exceptional at what they do. All of them have gone above and beyond in the categories of being courteous, friendly, helpful, accommodating, respectful, thorough, generous, thoughtful and authentic. It is one of the most consistent levels of service and staffing we have encountered: truly world class. Thank you every time Hotel Calimala!

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcome throughout. The rooftop restaurant offered a wonderful breakfast buffet with a great atmosphere. The location was excellent—within easy walking distance to all the places we wanted to visit. The double-glazed windows noticeably blocked out most noise, contributing to a restful night's sleep. We will definitely rebook this location on our next trip

Gorgeous hotel and delightful room. You are in the heart of the old town and minutes from both the Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio. Breakfast on the terrace is fantastic (you can also get a cappuccino to go!) I took mine alfresco. In the evenings you can find street musicians across the way to enjoy while you eat your gelato.

I’ll second many of the good things other reviewers have said: fantastic location, friendly and helpful staff, chic design, generous room size (by European standards), and excellent rooftop bar. We overall enjoyed our stay very much. Our only complaint—and it’s really more of a warning than a complaint because the issue is mostly beyond the hotel’s control—was the noise. The East building is, as others have mentioned, near an outdoor market which features *very* loud (but otherwise pleasant) musical performances that go on quite late. On our first night, it was classical music till around 11:30 p.m.; our second night, the opera singing lasted till around 1:30 a.m.(!!); the third night, the hotel moved us to another room at our request and the noise was better but still bothersome. I’m a pretty heavy sleeper, but even with foam earplugs the music kept me awake both of the first two nights. All that is to say, while we would likely return to Hotel Calimala, we would request a room further from the outdoor market. If you’re not a night owl or are a light sleeper, we suggest you do the same (and bring ear plugs).

The staff have been extremely helpful leading up to our stay, answering questions about transportation and tours in Tuscany. Upon arrival at Hotel Calimala West, Silvie and the staff were extremely helpful and professional. We checked our bags and waited for early check in. We enjoyed a coffee and a delicious snack outside at the sidewalk cafe, where Sabina provided excellent service. We were able to go to our room about 20 minutes before check in. Our room was well appointed, comfortable bed, comfortable armchair and a desk and chair. We had plenty of closet space, and our room was very quiet--which we appreciated considering the central location. There was plenty of choice for breakfast, hot and cold including a variety of fresh fruit, and Prosecco if you want to make a Mimosa/cocktail. Again, the staff service was excellent, prompt and attentive. We also had drinks after dinner one evening, and again the staff and service were excellent. I highly recommend staying at Hotel Calimala for a relaxing, enjoyable couples stay! We did dine at the rooftop restaurant at Hotel Calimala East and were welcomed by a very attentive hostess, and then proceeded to the rooftop. Again, the staff and level of service were excellent. This is the only time that we were not completely satisfied. It continued to get colder and more windy, and the space heater close to our table was not working. Plus, many restaurants offer a small blanket for warmth, but this was not the case at the rooftop restaurant. The food was delicious (T-bone steak, etc.), but we stopped eating our dinner and left quickly because it was too cold. The one suggestion I have that the hotel offers throw blankets, and ensures that all heaters are functional. Otherwise they should close the area once it is too cold.

Omg I love the mix of old world 1600’s + 1920’s art deco here. The staff was so helpful. My husband booked us one of the suites which was so posh. We had a blast at the bar with the staff there There were times I just wanted to stay in the hotel and not leave the room.

Everything was exceptional, making our stay a really wonderful experience. The staff were extremely nice with us throughout our stay, and they were like that with everyone. The reception was impeccable, valet as well. The parking was a bit on the expensive side, but it's right in the center of Florence. The room was perfect, cleaning of the rooms was perfect as well. Would definitely recommend and come back here. The location of the hotel is 5-10min walk to the most important places in Florence as well!!
Cons: Small to big group size people were really loud on the corridor, but it's not something that they can really control(I would suggest here some signs in the corridor with "Please be quiet" or something). The breakfast could have been more diverse.

L’hôtel Calimala est incroyablement bien situé, en plein cœur de Florence, et à quelques minutes à pied des principaux sites d’intérêt. La déco est soignée , originale, tout en respectant l’âme de la ville. Le personnel est aux petits soins, très sympathique et efficace. Super buffet de petit déjeuner salé/sucré avec une mention spéciale pour les délicieux pains aux raisins ! Les chambres sont très jolies, avec une literie confortable et une salle de bain, bien équipée, très calmes malgré la situation centrale de l’hôtel. Un séjour parfait !

This is a wonderful, upscale hotel in an absolutely fabulous part of town with easy walking to any of the major sites. Dozens of restaurants are also just steps away and the hotel itself boasts one of the cities most popular rooftop bars where hotel guests seem to get preferred seating. The train station is also only a few minutes taxi ride away!

Don’t stay on fourth floor as you will hear EVERYTHING above you at the restaurant all night long. Horrible sleep. The staff isn’t very friendly or helpful, no worries I booked things myself without their help. Don’t expect your laundry to return on time and when it doesn’t they offer no compensation. The cleaning staff didn’t clean simply made the bed never took out or changed full trash cans etc.

Only complaints the rooftop bar was reserved both nights for private party, so it was closed and we could not enjoy. Also the drain on the shower overflowed but they fixed it the next day.
